A Savior
Anna Nicole Smith Dead
My heart is grieving over this woman. I see a soul who ended up taking every destructive road in her life and I wonder what went wrong early on.
We do not have to succumb to the turmoil and insanity of this life. There is one, Jesus Christ, who offers hope for the self-destructive starlet, for the drug addict, for the sexually broken, for the abused, for the impoverished, for the person grieving the loss of a child, and for the lonely. No one is beyond His reach.
The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the LORD
for the display of his splendor.
Isaiah 61:1-3

It breaks my heart too. Thank you for posting that Scripture. It moved me deeply.
Would the bunch here mind lifting up my name to the Lord today. My name is Robyn
Bless You All In Jesus Name!
My heart breaks for her. I pray that we will see everyone through the eyes of Jesus...that no one is beyond His reach and that He came to save everyone! It is so easy to label others and look down on them without seeing them as a person that Jesus came to save. I heard all kinds of ugly comments about her yesterday and it grieved my heart because she was so lost yet she was made in God's image and it reminded me of how fleeting this life is and that we can look for love in all the wrong places and it will soon be the death of us.

Thanks for saying what's in my heart...we can all say a prayer for Anna.
Amanda, I agree with you. My heart has been broken ever since I heard about her death. I wonder if anyone ever told her about Jesus and loved her like Jesus. Only He could have filled the hungry void in her life. I hurt also for the baby...our 4th child, Sydney, also a girl, was born just a few days before hers. So as I hold my 5 month old girl. My prayer is that someone will tell this little one the hope she has in Jesus. May God pursue her and redeem her and adopt her, like He did me. Isn't He Wonderful?
Blessings,
Holly Smith

I was just talking with a group of women this morning about how sad her life seemed. That is why a lot of women my age (over 40 admire all of you college girls. Most of you seem so mature in your walk with Him.
Man, I wish I had known about Jesus before I partied my head off in college...so many regrets. Reach out to those girls that are lost on your campuses. They don't want to live like that. They just want someone to love them. Show them Jesus.
Makes me so sad too, manda! The girls and I heard it while in the car together yesterday...and we were stunned and deeply saddened.
It's so hard when you know the "Hope" for the world. He can take any life, no matter what kind of ashes it has known, and bring such beauty. Oh! that she could have found that!!
May we all remember to pray for that baby girl of hers.
Oh Sweet Jesus, make a way for her. I pray that you would chase her down just like you did me.
Saddened together,
tammie
It is very sad - my first thoughts were about that little baby.
It is so sad because it does not have to be that way - Jesus WANTS to take the trash heap that we've made of our lives and make it into something beautiful!
I hope and I pray that there will be people on the path of that small child's life to turn her to Him and allow Him to use these events of her mother's life and death to grow something amazingly beautiful in her life.
It is heartbreaking to know that her life did have a purpose. I pray that her daughter will find peace in her life that her mother never found. People have been so cold in their comments about Anna, but Anna was created with love by God. It is just too sad! My prayers are with her family, especially her little daughter.
I was sad when I heard the news. I thought about her son who died months ago and her newborn who will be without his mom. I love the scripture that you gave and it should move us to witness more to the lonely or people who we know are living a life that will lead them down the road of destruction. God has been speaking this to my heart and we don't have a long time on this earth. We need to be about his business.
Thanks Amanda for the posting and the scripture. It reminds me to look for opportunities to share the "Life Giver" to those who daily cross my path, and to be oh-so-grateful that Jesus reached down to this pit-dweller and lifted me out! How can we ever thank Him enough?
Sista Robyn (Salty Sister) - "got your back" today. You just rest in His love & provision and know that your sistas are here for you, standing in the gap!
Love you all,
Linda
Beth & Amanda,
As I arise every morning at 5:00 am to spend an hour in prayer. My heart is filled with hope that even the lost will see the glory of the Lord. I uplift your ministry as you "Carry the Light" of our precious savior. There are many Anna Nicole's in this world and through hope, compassion, words, and prayer those lost souls can see victory through people like you, Amanda, Keith, Travis, myself and family. We must all have on our armor and be prepared for every battle in this world of sin, sex, drugs, deceit, stardom, etc. Dave and I will be in San Francisco uplifting you as you share your heart and speak through the Lord in March. CONTINUE TO "CARRY THE LIGHT" WHILE REACHING THE LOST.
In His Precious Love with "Heaven bound" blessings, Kim & Dave
Amanda thanks for posting this.
Salty Sister... we will definitely be lifting you up in prayer.
I too, was saddened over the news of Anna Nicole. My heart just aches over her, her baby and family. Thank you Amanda, for posting that particular Scripture. It was soothing balm for this aching heart. God's word is such utter TRUTH! "He sent His word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions." (Psalm 107:20) Praise His faithful name! Let us pray for this precious family...no one is beyond His loving reach!
"Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burden, the God who is our salvation. God is to us a God of deliverances and to God the Lord belong escapes from death." (Psalm 68:19-20)
Thanks for addressing this loss. It breaks my heart. Oh, that not one more would die not knowing the complete and total freedom that Jesus Christ brings. One day...come, Lord Jesus, come.
Robyn,"salty sister" consider yourself prayed for.
Mandi
I've seen so many young girls like Anna--always searching for something to fill their void. You can see it in their eyes. It's heart breaking.
It left me feeling so empty...like I think Anna Nicole must have felt. Then God asked me who the Anna Nicole's are in my life circle, and what did I want to do about it.
You don't have to be a celebrity to feel life is empty...and you don't need anything but Jesus to fill up the empty.
Father, touch my sister Robyn today where she needs to feel Your hand in her life. Meet her where she is, and carry her to where You want her to be.
SISTA LINDA!!!
Only the loving Holy Spirit would lead you to use the exact words "Stand in the Gap" for me!!!!!!! I had been on my face asking God to have someone STAND IN THE GAP for me and pray for me! You have no idea how God has just used you to encourage me today. I am moved to tears...so thankful for this group! Thanks girls for getting my back today.
Love You Love You Love You!
I'm was so sad to hear about this, too. I remember first seeing Anna Nicole about 15 years ago - she was a guest on a talk show. She was joking about how she had met her real father, finally, and he recognized her as "Miss October." Yes. This father had never met his daughter, and yet, he had been ogling her through pornography.
That made me SO SAD!
I think it explains a lot about her life. No real father for so many years, and when she did find him, not only was she abandoned by him but abused by him (in his mind). It makes me want to WEEP. This is NOT what LIFE is about. This is NOT what Jesus wants for us!
She was immoral, yes. But she was deeply wounded as well.
Let's DO pray for her little baby girl, that God would redeem the years for HER, give her a future and a hope, would overcome HER fatherlessness. (There is a custody battle on going over her paternity.)Let's pray that this cycle would stop with this little girl!
p.s. I'm delighted to find that LPM has a blog! How exciting!
Amanda,
This breaks my heart too. Last eveing after my sons karate practice, my husband and I took Aaron to McDonalds. While observing the families surrounding us I could not help but notice a woman dressed very seductively with her daughter. At first glance, this could have been a very intimidating moment for me. Yes...she did distract the attention of several husbands, leaving one wife very angry and upset. It was when I got up to discard the wrappings of our meal that I found myself standing beside her. I looked into her eyes, and all I could see beyond the full head of blonde hair, aged beauty dressed in lustful attire was a woman who has been deeply hurt and used. Instead of jealous, I felt compassion. I wanted to reach out and grab her by the hand and take her to Jesus. I smiled at her and she smiled at me as we said good night. Since...she has been in my thoughts and prayers. To be honest, I wished I had gone back and stepped forward to sit and talk with her. My prayer is that I hope I run into her again...
God Bless you Ladies...
From your Sista,
Debby Ann
P.S.
Salty Sister...you are in my prayers
I too was saddened by this and have been praying for her and the family. Thanks for sharing the verse. It touched my heart.
Amen! And Amen!
Hey Salty Sister/Robyn, It is my honor to lift you up today. Thank you for asking! The coolest thing? I know you'll do the same for me when I need it and we've never even met! My heart breaks for Anna Nicole's family. Our Lord can make a way.....my hope is that she knew Him somehow, someway. Thanks for pointing our hearts in that direction, Amanda.
amanda & beth -
thank you for setting up this blog and letting us be sistas.
This is such a blessing to me.
You all are in my heart and prayers.
I told my husband as we watched Good Morning America this morning "There's a girl who really needed Jesus. And her life probably didn't just get any better after it ended".
It's so sad to see how life can be without the hope of Jesus.
It TOTALLY breaks my heart. God has given me a heart for the lost in Hollywood. People laugh at me when I say that I'm praying for Martha Stewart, Rosie O'donell, Ellen and others, but my response is just that Jesus died for them as much as He died for any of us. And I am a FIRM believer that NO soul is beyond the power of God's redemption. Is there any greater story than that of a redeemed soul? NO WAY, JOSE! Stories of redemption are my favorite. I am one, for crying out loud!
And THAT is what it's all about.
Thank you Amanda. I love those verses from Isiah. They were my beacons through a dark time, and I was taking your Mom's course called Breaking Free.... Anna Nicole's little heart was broken by something. Very sad.
It is sad all the way around, and so easy to point fingers. But how many times have I taken the wrong path in my life. I praise God he never let me go!! We need to pray for the little girl she just recently gave birth to, maybe she can break the generational chain.
Blessings.
I felt the same way. It was so shocking to me. I pitied this woman who had so much tragedy and public humiliation in her life (in my mind at least it was humiliating) and I don't usually get into celebrity stories.
Thank you Amanda, for your compassionate response. And Beth for thinking it through and really kind of hitting the nail on the head as to why we felt for her.
I'm so glad Jesus saved me and was patient with me as I stayed a 'baby' Christian for sooooo long. I can so relate with the Sista that talked about how those of us 40+ can look back & see so much wasted time.
But our Lord is so good, and He never leaves us alone...He pursued me through all my poor choices and pulled me out of the pit and into a closer walk with Him.
He truly is the only One that can reach the depth of our need - no matter what it is or how deep it is. I learned this as I grew older, but the finest hour came in my deepest sorrow. When my little girl was called home to Heaven a few years ago, the Lord was there in my grief, anger, confusion & deep agony. When I asked Him how I'd live without her, He told me He'd "show" me. As I cling in trust to Him, He continues to astound me with His power and peace. The Lord is blessing the 2nd half of my life even more than the first, just like Job! Not with material/worldy wealth, but with REAL wealth....palatable peace, deep joy, insatiable thirst for His Word and opportunities to serve Him that I never dreamed of before. Oh, how I praise His Name!
Oh how we really can do ALL things through Christ Jesus who strengthens us!
May we all be about 'showing' Him to others as we go about our daily lives....there truly are Anna Nicole's & others in deep pain all around us.
Thanks Amanda for saying what was on all our hearts and for sharing one of my favorite scripture passages.
i think kristi a. hit something big...Redemption is The Only Story and for His Glory and here we see such a tragic loss...i'm not assuming anything here one way or the other but from what we can see our hearts ache for what Glory was lost. but for the Grace of God
What a sad story this is. My heart goes out to her family. What a tragic life. Her heart was so broken over the loss of her son. Thank God for a Savior who reaches out for all of us.
