Progress Report
OK. I've almost cleaned out all the Starbuck's receipts. Don't even mess with me about my lipstick. As our sister said, it's not like we're talking about peace in the Middle East here. It was just a garage. I may consider putting my lipsticks in alphabetical order, however. They all start with "P." My hair is wrecked from having my head in my purse. Seriously. I wasn't THIS inspired.
I think I'll do something I like better. I think I'll start researching Esther.

I think I may be growing stuff in my purse according to my man. I heard a news report recently about how many germs are in a womans purse. Maybe we should all go and buy a new one just to be on the safe side. We can tell our husbands that we don't want to infect anyone from the germs in our purses. :)

You go girl! In dog-speak, our tongues are hanging out in anticipation!! Do you know what I love best about the Esther study? It means that God's going to have some challenges for all of us when we do it...the God of time and timing, as you say. So what you study today may impact me February 8, 2009...isn't that a fun thought? Time travel of sorts..hee hee.

I couldn't help it, Beth! I just HAD to say something about your lipsticks! Putting them in alphabetical order, though, that's progress! (I think).
I'm just as sanguine at you, though, so I TOTALLY get you!
You CRACK ME UP!
Now, go fix your hair! It shouldn't be to difficult since you have EVERYTHING under the sun to FIX IT WITH!
love you lots sista!
Ok, you go research Esther (I can't WAIT for that study!!!! :) I LOVE the the faithfulness of Esther, and can't wait to hear your word from the Lord on her :) YAY!!!! Anyhow, you go and research Esther, I'm going to go do my bible study homework for LIving Beyond Yourself while my kiddos do their schoolwork (we are a homeschooling family).
PS I think that my oldest beauty (she'll be 14 next week...on Valentine's Day....and is just starting to wear makeup, and she has learned so well to keep it natural and beautiful looking!) has a "thing" for lipstick also. We just ordered some Mary Kay and on her wishlist was 4 different lipgloss/lipstick shades! Oh dear! :)
sistas- have you ever just switched purses? transfering only the essentials. what a bad habbit! tho a great surprise when you go to use it again in the spring and find $20. yipee! i always end up with sand at the bottom of my purse & yes-around the rim of my lipsticks. enjoying the Neh. building new walls study. beth, you inspire me to get into the Word on my own. enjoy Esther-i'm going to enjoy 1Samuel.
enjoy your day ladies.-lisa
Well...after hearing everyone speak about cleaning out their purses I decided it was time to "deal with my stuff"!!! I'm doin' it Beth...I am dealing with my stuff. Here is my progress report....but seriously, how in the world and why in the world do I have so much stuff in my purse????
1. tons of starbucks receipts
2. two spoons
3. a tide pen
4. lipstick, chapstick, and lip gloss
5. a random key (who knows what it's for)
6. random appointment cards
7. a red crayon
8. germ-X (don't you love it?)
AND THE LIST GOES ON!!! I am 24 years old and in graduate school. I am working as a Nanny for a family with 3 small kids...so maybe that explains the madness of my purse!!!
I can't wait for the Esther study! I will pray for you!!
your Sista,
Kathleen
Just wondering how you don't have carpel(sp?) tunnel syndrome with all those round brushes you pulled out in Daniel? I only use one and not very well, I might add, that thing makes my wrist hurt. Can't imagine how I would feel with multiples!!!! I am thinking the rollers would be better than you needing surgery bcs. your hand hurts. Your hair always looks great whether it is BIG or just big. I certainly don't want you to have stop writing Esther bcs. of the syndrome. So on behalf of all the SISTAhood plug the rollers back in if need be.
Sort of off the subject; but not really. Do you recall the comment you made about the Roliads on Wednesdays with Beth, this week(rerun)and two Wed. ago? Well I am thinking there should be a warning on this blogging stuff!!!! Please, save the rest of the SISTAhood, I am too far gone(ha ha)!!!!
love the idea of a new purse due to germ magnet overload!
i think a trip to "beth's other
office" is just what you need. now that the purse is clean you have room for more reciepts!!!
now, how does a sista get inspired to put away four baskets of clean laundry ???

I cleaned my purse out last night waiting for the mostly men leaders to join me for a Cub Scout meeting at Panera. I didn't think a thing of the increasing mound of receipts, breakfast bar packages, and lipsticks until, one by one, the men arrived and just stared at the mound in front of me. I think they were afraid of what I might pull out next, so they all scurried over to get their coffees until the coast was clear, and my purse was put away. And I'm with Jenny about the need to purchase a new purse (germs), but my practical husband would say "couldn't you just spray some Lysol on your old purse for $1.99?".

Round brushes :( I only wish I had the skill to use them. Last time I tried - I managed to creatively get the brush stuck in my hair. Two hours + an entire jar of peanut butter later = the brush was no longer a prisoner and victim of my hair :( Staying with my velcro rollers until I get brave again! lol
If anyone needs half a graham cracker or a receipt with a piece of gum stuck in it let me know. I just found both items in the bottom of my purse.
And in my defense, I have a three year old.
Good afternoon Sistas,
I have to tell everyone the last 2 days have been a little difficult for me. The "Lord" is so great!!
He took my fear away. Your wonderful funny stories helped along the way. I am beginning to like being a blogger "Sista". It is like being at Starbucks over my favorite cup of java along side by best buds. Java via internet with my best Sistas. Speaking of stuff...we have plenty at our house. The love of my life likes to hold on to stuff, you know just in case we need more stuff. But...to my surprise a couple of weekends ago, he cleaned out his closets. You guessed it...I cleaned my as well, and my kids too!! Isn't it a wonderful feeling to be organized. The secret is how to continue being organized. My fetish is baskets...plenty of baskets but unfortunately they need to be dusted and cleaned out too!! Sistas, just keep on pressing on.
Have a great day!!
Singing praises to Jesus...

You don't know how jealous I am of you that get to have Starbucks receipts in your purses!
You must be blessed more so than I! Our only coffee shop in town is off the beaten path and my coffee at home is better!
Let me ask you a question, do you think I could pray for a Starbucks to open here?
Well I'm off to confess my "bad" thoughts of jealous feelings!
Jenny
We are studying Esther in Sunday School and I'm thrilled that's your next study! I'll have to share with my class Sunday so we can anticipate together (it's a co-ed class, so there only may be half of us anticipating, but still....)
I am beyond excited about Esther. I have told my Bible study group about it and they are looking forward to it. I just taught on this for 6 weeks and it was so much fun to learn about the God of Providence! I guess I better go and write out my Sunday School lesson. I am bit behind and I want to get it done before Saturday. I have been teaching on Heaven. We are learning and I can tell you Heaven isn't going to boring not one little bit!! I can't wait to have Sabbath Moments with Jesus in person!!
If you need a new "P" lipstick, the new Lancome free gift has a shade called Pink Diamond in it...it's a goooood everyday color. And it'll look real purty on you while you research Esther. 'Cause you HAVE to look purty for Esther.
:-)
OH Sista Beth,
Run to the Garage... You will be surprised what you may find.. My husband cleaned our gargage too!!! And while I was looking for something, I found my not one but two favorite pair of twizzers out in HIS toolbox. When I asked him, he said with his cute little, I want to pinch his cheeks,,, voice..."I dunno how they got there"
For three months I have wondered why I have tortured myself with the pair I have. "Has anyone seen my other pair?" ....Silence.
Yes... Let's study Esther...
"For such a royal time as this"
got to love those men...and their simplicity
Blessings,
Sista Esther... given that name years ago...

While you're researching Esther, see if you can find out what was up with that year of beauty treatments she went through before becoming queen. Puh-lease!!! I wonder what King Xerxes looked like. I bet he didn't go through twelve months of beauty treatments.
Beth,
I wanted to name my baby girl (twenty years) ago "Esther" but my husband said No! I know the name is a little old fashioned but the life of that precious woman was something else.
I saw the movie "Esther" and I can't wait to learn more about her!
oooooo i luv those goood everyday colors....boomama, you crack me up! oops! (spelling error/did someone mention spell-check? )sorry i mean "gooood "
i have the stationary that my best friend wrote her lunch order on the first time we had a lunch date at school. :)
ps...that was 4 years ago this march.
exploded pen in vera bag. stink.
I ran out of splenda last week. (A coffee addict tragedy.) I can't grocery shop til I get paid tomorrow. (A broke college student tragedy.) Thanks to the work ethic of your man--although we acknowledged it was no giant leap for mankind--and further, more warranted inspiration from yourself...I found ONE small, foot-printed, pencil-marked, telephone-numbered pack in my zipper pocket!!!
Praise the Lord! He knows I don't like my coffee black! ..Don't tell me He doesn't care about the small things :)
Beth,
Don't clean out your purse! You have to be prepared for the ice-breaker-weirdest-item-found-in-your-purse-game we sistas play at the beginning of ALL sista events! Since you're like at a sista event EVERY WEEKEND, you have to be prepared! So quick, go put everything back!! It would be such a shame to miss out on winning the perfect shade of pink lipstick just to have a clean purse for like - 2 hours!

Cleaning out your purse huh? Mine would take a mack truck just to find the bottom! Seriously though, cleaning out the garage is a good thing and maybe all he would like is a romantic, home cooked meal. It is the season of love with Valentine's Day just around the corner!
Blessings!
ROTFL!! I rotate several purses, so you can imagine what I have in several purses. I am swimming in receipts. I am not sure where my lipstick is.
Bless my poor purse...it's cup runneth over...with lip gloss, brushes, gum, list of things to do(that often never get done, b/c it gets lost amongst my stuff) , diapers, wipes, reciepts, toddler snacks, toys, hand cream, and ink pens. The worst part is my child's diaper bag is just as bad! How does this happen? I do a big clean out weekly...well more like monthly.., seperating my stuff from baby' stuff, taking all ink pens out but ONE, weeding through reciepts, shaking out cracker crumbs, etc, etc...hoping surely THIS is the week it'll stick & I'll be organized all year long. Hmmmm...
HOwever, I ALWAYS leave a few suckers in my purse...anyone with a toddler needs to be able to pull out a sucker at a moment's notice for those mid-shopping MELTDOWNS. Works like a charm!
By the way, another fellow blogger mentioned the wiredest thing in your purse game....I win that game...like everytime.

I bet your poor sweet husband had no idea what kind of a monster he was creating...
I don't think Mr. Keith woke up yesterday and though...
"Hmmm I have an idea. I'll go clean out the garage, and then Elizabth will be inspired to clean out her purse...which will inspire a multitude of women across america to do the same...and then men and children all over the world will rejoice as the women in their lives exclaim, "Oh THAT'S where I put my hairbrush and the grocery list!" ..and then begrudgingly take their husbands out of the Dog-House, and UN-ground their 16 year old daughters.
YES! Today, the garage. Tomorrow, world peace."
No, I doubt that any man would think that far into the process. Otherwise we wouldn't need dog houses. And where would the fun be in that? :)
