Suggestions from my sistas

I'm selecting 12 Weekly Word Devotions for a little project we're doing at LPM. If you've been reading our devos for a while and have a couple favorites, will you let me know which ones they are?

Hope for any marriage from 2006
is one that helped me. I have been married now for 11 years. We made it over the humps. Hopefully some day we can be one of those couples that can speak to the Young Married Couples class.

I have alot more than a couple. But I'll only share three of them.1- False Guilt or Cherished Sin. 2- Trust Me with Your Isaac. 3-Contented and Prosperous. The first two spoke directly to my heart and I meditate on them often. The 3rd one I'm just now learning.
Love you girls, This Blogging is the best.

#1 powerful devo- "Walking With a Limp" Am I more aware of His Presence than His absence...#2 - "The Child of Desperation" Am I trying to get people to love me by attaching myself to them...
In response to whose heart do you want to look like? Marge. Thought many times this week about Marge Caldwell on the anniversary of her death. I want that kind of joy---I want her Jesus! Marge was a perpetual wonder at enjoying her God & what He was up to...remember what Marge's mom would say to her each a.m.? Thirty years ago, I met a man in a bar in Houston and he changed my life forever. His name was Jesus. I went to FBC Houston cause I thought Billy Graham was the pastor---knew nothing about Baptists---instead I met Marge. The next day I sat in her home & she showed me how to spend time with Jesus like she did every a.m. in that blue chair. This mentor laughed with me---she cried for me. I've never been the same. I can still hear her laughter.

I love Sabbath Moments and Superwoman's Freedom Plea! I cannot tell you how much I have enjoyed and learned to take Sabbath Moments with God. I love the idea of having a play date with Jesus!! This devotion will speak to women in years to come and still speaks to me. I think I am going to print it out and keep it near me. I have a tendancy to burn out and become frustrated. I bought your devotional book when I went to the Phoenix conference. I LOVE it!! It is my companion during my quiet times and it has helped more than you will ever know! Thank you Beth and Amanda!
Love,
Patty

My favorite two devos were Unexpected Weight Loss and Remembering in the Desert.

Unexpected Weight Loss really hit home because the enemy threw me a curve ball. Praise Him so many lessons were learned and continue to be learned. One thing about it the deepest cuts, if given to Christ, reap the greatest blessings. I love the way God can take those things the enemy meant to harm us and use them for good.

Corrie ten Boom has been mentioned in some of our sistas comments. One statement I remember from her book, The Hiding Place, went something like this. "No matter how deep the pit, our God is deeper still." God's love for us always surpasses the hurt we encounter.

Praise you, Lord!

Oh, I forgot about Sabbath Moments and I need to add it to one of my top favorites. It is just like Patty said, a play day with Jesus. I have it printed and on my desk to remind me to stop and savour Him and have that Sabbath Moment. Beth and Amanda you two are great! Absolutely can't wait until the simulcast on the 24th.

Love you sistas!

"He is Everything" and "Old Tape"... after attending Beth's Conference (I think in Tulsa, but it could have been Austin some time on the '90's), Old tape did for me what many years of counseling could have done. I let the message into my marrow and then my Savior became my Everything. Praise God! I didn't even know I needed the message...just walking around thinking things were fine. Little did I know that I had pushed the thing down so far, that even I didn't know I needed help until the Great Physician came and did the work! Praise Him!
He's still working..

Definitely the Living Stones devotional from just a couple weeks ago, that reminder that we are proof Christ lives and as we demonstrate that to others, they will want to know Jesus!
