Howard Dean

I just got home from Seattle and I am so full of praise and thanksgiving to our God who mercifully met with us. I walked in the door and got face down on the floor and thanked Him. If anything of value happens, it is all Him. If He doesn't come, it's a miserable waste of time. I absolutely LOVED the group. Totally loved them!!! So engaged and so anxious to throw themselves on the pages of Scripture. What more on the earth could I ask??? I will tell you more about it in a few days. I just got home from a LONG flight and a time change and I am about to jump through the tub and fall in the bed. HOWEVER, Amanda told me I'd want to check your comments after she posted the celebrity "look alikes" (seriously??) and trust me when I say it was not a disappointment. I am so poured-out from the conference that I was either going to cry really hard when I got home or laugh really hard. When I read Salty Sister's comment about Howard Dean coming up on her search, I did both. (I'm about to do it again.) I laughed so hard, the tears were squirting out of my eyes. All I could do is squeak when Keith asked me what I was so tickled about. I'm not kidding. Y'all make my day. What a wonderful homecoming. Maybe now I'll just cry. What mercy God has had on this poor, pitiful mess. I love you guys. Don't worry. I won't forget to let you know what I used those ridiculous lookalikes for. I'll let you guess for a day or two and if you were there, don't let the cat out of the bag!

Just reading about you walking in your door and getting face down on the floor to thank the Lord for what He has done has me in tears (and I don't even have PMS right now). He is good, isn't He? All the time.

Blessings to you and your sweet family...

Mama B,
Your overflowing joy and thankfulness immediately made me think of this song. I PRAY you get to hear it one day because it is one powerful worship song...

"So High"

Lord these are just words
And are not enough, to contain You
Jesus just words
And can never suffice, to acclaim You

Father just words
and I have so few
I run out too fast
To speak them to You

Oh You are indescribable
You are beyond expression
And I run out of words for You
I can't think that high
So hear my spirit groan in me
A painful sense of urgency
To tell You that You are to me
SO HIGH

...As far as the look-a-likes go,
you are our ditzy blog family's Jesus with skin on...so none of those begin to do Him justice for what He does through you! You are absolutely precious. Love you a million chocolate truffles ;)

As one of the 5,000 sisters in attendance at the Seattle conference, I'd like to thank all those who were praying for this event, trust me your prayers undoubtedly were answered. To Beth herself; because you were so diligent to just go with the Holy Spirit's plan and get deeply personal with us despite the constraint of time, I know we received a special blessing. Like women everywhere we hunger and thirst for His Word and desire to fall more and more in love with Him. Thank you so much for bringing your big hair and your BIG love for Jesus to the Northwest this weekend. Sending you a grateful heart and a big cup of Tully's!

Beth,
Thank you so much for just being faithful to pour yourself out for so many women in Seattle...I was not there, but I know women who were, and I am sure they were blessed by our Father showing up and showing OFF...You are a precious vessel that has annointed others heads with His oil, and I pray that He will give you much rest and peace after all you have done. Lord, I pray you would just pour back into her all she has given out, and let her heart be rested and full. Thank you Jesus for using Beth in such a mighty way and touching so many women's hearts. May we all be transformed into your likeness...
How come that celebrity look alike didn't have a photo of Jesus? LOL...
That is truly who you look like the most you know!!!
I love you Beth,
You inspire me to be more like HIM...

you know beth...i wake up every morning and I look at these 10 beautiful abandoned children that He has allowed me the privilege of caring for and I have said those same words, God what mercy You have had on this poor pitiful mess, that I would get to witness Your glory in such unspeakable ways.

Thank You for being a living testimony through your transparency that God uses broken vessels...and out of these broken but now passionate hearts, He will make something beautiful!

You humble us and make us better, thank you!

I love it when I'm so exhausted that I can't see straight and EVERYTHING becomes funny. Some of my favorite memories are of the times I've sat up all night and half the morning in the hospital with my mother and sisters waiting for one of my sisters to have a baby and we'd always start getting silly from lack of sleep. For some reason, the one having the baby never thought it was funny:)

See you in Columbia, SC in 68 days.

Beth,
You are a true reflection of Jesus Himself. I am so grateful to you for your submission to our precious Savior, and I thank you for allowing Him to be seen in you.

I've listened to your CD "My Determined Purpose" several times. He has done a true work in my heart and given me new "selective focus" in my desire to serve Him. My husband and I are in full-time ministry in a church in the Northeast. Just wanted you to know that your ministry has brought me to a new level of falling in love with "Jesus the One and Only".

Love you, precious sister.

I was right there with Mary in the prior comments--I thought to myself-Howard Dean??? Ha! Ha! Who would have thought? But seriously, Beth, I prayed for you and the Seattle girls. I am so excited to soon hear about how He showed himself to you this past weekend.
I was introduced to your studies a little over 2 years ago, and I am now studying Daniel. I, along with several of our study group, will be attending your LPM Live conference just up the road from you in Louisiana next month. (I think that trip will be relatively easy? We're practically neighbors!) I am so looking forward to it.
In the past 2 years I have gone from someone who thought I knew what is was to be a Christian, to someone who realized she completely DID NOT, to someone who is steadfastly pursuing HIM with all that I've got. THANK YOU SO MUCH for being the precious vessel of God's word that you are! You have made all the difference in the world to me. I love you to pieces! Also, thanks to Amanda for encouraging you to do this blog. Last, but not least, love to Melissa and Keith and to Curt and Jackson--it's a brave and bold thing to put your lives out on display before us all.

Love and thanks from the bottom of my heart,
Ellen

THANK YOU for making us feel like a REAL family on here. It just means the world to know that we have our own little connection...different than when we enjoy your presence at a conference or in a study. But just a spur of the moment, personal, honest, and involved friendship and sisterhood through the ONE that connects us all.

You will NEVER know what these daily glimpses into your heart and life have meant to the heart of an insecure, lonely, and hidden girl in small town NC. PRAISE THE LORD He caught and captured my heart and mind, and I have been free of all that (and more) for exactly 35 days!!

I love you dearly..even if your blog was the one that alerted me to the fact that at 22, I already look like Benita Ferrero-Waldner (who??)

Beth,
Thanks so much for coming to Seattle!!! I felt so much love in that church and your worship team is the best! I had been singing, to Jesus in my car, In Christ Alone for the last few weeks and couldn't get it out of my head and then to have the worship team play it so boldly!!!! Jesus was setting me up for your visit I'm sure! You are "precious in His sight" and also in mine! Lots of love and prayers,
Eileen
PS Tell Keith he was awesome on the "stage" and looked like he had been doing it for years!! You make a beautiful couple in Christ!

Mrs. Moore,

I have just found your blog in the last couple of days, and I was SOOOO excited! It was like finding a long lost friend through the internet. I am currently doing my 7th Beth Moore Bible Study. We are currently doing "Living Beyond Yourself".....I started this study in June 2004, but due to a series of events, was unable to continue beyond week 1. Well, this week, it became abundantly clear (when we watched the video session on Love and Rejection) why God did not have me there in 2004....I was NOT ready for His message to me through your words. Praise God, He has healed me and brought me onto the other side of that rejection by my mother and the healing from not having a mommy anymore. And it has caused me to be a much better momma to my 4 beautiful blessings!

I can't wait to read more of the entries on your blog and consider myself blessed beyond measure to have found it! Thank you for all you do for the kingdom of Christ!

My the Lord richly bless you and your family. And Miss Amanda, your baby boy is just absolutley precious!!!!

Just found your blog when I went on your website after the Seattle conference...don't worry I won't let the cat out of the bag:)
I pray the Lord gives you rest and and am so glad He gave you laughter for your homecoming!!!

Thank you for coming to Seattle and pouring out what God gave to you for us. What I love about God is His amazing ability to be so precise in each of our lives in the middle of the largest group of women I have ever been with in my entire life!

From the moment we came to the conference little blessings just seemed to trickle out of nowhere to confirm over and over what the Lord is doing in our lives. My friends and I weren't sure what to do...whether to laugh or cry...so we did both! Everything from the presence of the Lord in worship and the Word was so designed by God to meet each of us in our group EXACTLY where we needed to be met by the Lord. His presence was so palpable.

We so enjoyed meeting your husband, it was as if we were all in your living room visiting with you, so relaxed and comfortable. Tell Keith his sharing both touched and encouraged us.

Thank you, thank you: to you, your family, and your entire team and your prayer partners! Thank you for your encouraging words regarding the Northwest. You were so right on.

Beth, you are so very real, so very encouraging, and so able to communicate the Word of God in a way that creates such a strong desire to pursue Him more and more. May the Lord continue to pour His blessing on you...

P.S. And one more minor thing...we didn't think you had big hair at all :) !!!

At February 5, 2007 at 2:11 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Ms. Beth,

From I true Southerner to another...we are all doing better with the big hair thing these days, although I do recall the big hair days with only fond memories. If you need a reminder of BIG hair just pull out "Feathers from the Nest" and revisit Easter morning, now that is REAL BIG HAIR.

Life is so serious most days that a good laugh is a true treasure. You make me laugh and know that it is o.k., even if it is at myself.

Counting the days until we meet in Bossier City. God's word is infectious!!!! Thanks for spreading it around.

Hey Beth!
I am so thankful that the weekend went well. On Friday morning I got up with my baby to feed him very early, and I thought about you and prayed for you because I remembered you said you would be up before dawn to head to Seattle. It was the funniest thing because I feel like I know you personally now! I am afraid when I see you in the simulcast I might stand up and proclaim, "That's my friend, Beth!"
I can't wait to hear all that GOD taught this past weekend!
PS I, too, did the celebrity look alike, and that was funny! Do you think a white 20-something could favor Condelesa Rice? Cause apparently I do! :) I was going to try another picture, but I realized there is only 1 picture of me among the thousands of my children! Can anyone relate?!

You ladies have been responsible for plenty of smiles and also just plenty to think about the last several days since discovering the LPM blog (thanks so much Amanda!) however...

meg, YOU are responsible for something like a choke/laugh/wheeze, as I completed died (I came back to life enough to type, apparently) laughing at your entry, TOO funny. I've resisted the temptation to try the celebrity look-alike thing, but now you have inspired me, and if John Travolta comes up on mine, I will just keep trying until I can at least get to Howard Dean level. Thanks for all the fun, Sisters, what a riot!

Beth Thank you so much for using the gifts of teaching and humor God has given you. I was at the Seattle conference and you are a blessing beyond measure. There were many things about the conference I will not forget particularly wisdom before knowledge and God is not only my everything but He is also my everyone. Also when you described your act of submission to Keith I went home and told my husband. I have two mentors who have both moved far away one in Arkansas and the other in Arizona. Sometimes I long for the hugs they gave me. That is what I saw in you when you hugged that friend of yours. If I could just hug you now. I love you so much Beth. In your bible studies when you say dear one and beloved honestly I melt. May God Bless you Abundantly.
Love, Lenita K

Hi Beth,

I'm not really responding to the "Howard Dean" posting--although it peaks my interest... I've been meaning to write you a letter for sometime--and now this just seems like the quickest way--maybe not as formal though.

The first time I attended a LPL event was in Casper, Wyo in 2002. God's message at that event changed my life. I still can quote to myself encouragement, admonishment, and God's truth that you shared that weekend that helps me on tough days.

We moved and I attended 3 more LPL events (Cincinnati, Lexington, and Indianapolis)--I could tell you about life changing events at each one! God really does show up. At Lexington you said--"whatever has been holding you back--whatever fear, etc--let it go. You've got to get past it or Satan will continue to use it against you." That's the truth! I decided to give up my fear in several areas. And God is proving himself over and over. It hasn't been easy! And my "cushy" position in this world is over. But daily I'm choosing God. I say, "yes, Lord--whatever you say and whatever you bring--I'm saying yes."

My scripture notecards are worn down to the shreds--but His word soothes me like nothing else.

I guess I would like to say thanks for the advise on how to pursue God. God blesses so many through you. I know what you do is hard somedays--and even though I haven't had time to do your latest studies (I'm a full-time teacher again and mom!), I pray for you--because I can only imagine what Satan tries to throw your way!

Thanks for your obedience--it has blessed so many!

In Christ, Kristi
Jeremiah 15:16 "Thy words were found and I ate them, and they became to my a joy and the delight of my heart; for I am called by thy name, O Lord, God of Hosts."

Beth, I was introduced to your study, "A Heart Like His" several years ago and I was so blessed. I then did "A Woman's Heart, God's Dwelling Place" and was absolutely undone at the realization that every single word in the Old Testament leads us to Jesus.

I will never forget the "bitter waters of Marah" and the discussion you had about bitterness being like a cancer and that a tree had to be thrown into the water, just like the "tree" that Jesus died on.

The study of "Jesus the One & Only" also touched me so much. I don't seriously know where your study ends and the Holy Spirit begins but all I can say is that there are so many pages of those studies that are completely tear-stained. One Sunday morning I could not even attempt to put on make-up before church because my eyes were so messed up and then I continued to weep through worship. It was so sweet (even though it wasn't pretty)!

I love how the Lord uses you, Beth, to inspire a love for God's Son and a love for His word. You teach us how to study even when we're not using one of your studies. You have shown me in a practical way that the men and women we read about in the Bible are just that ... men and women with real flesh and bones. They are not super heros.

So after the many blessings that I have received as a result of your studies, you can imagine the excitement that I had at the thought of actually sitting under your teaching "live and in person". I was at Living Proof Live in Seattle and I was so blessed. So filled. So encouraged. So inspired. So challenged.

The worship was amazing! When Travis shared about "How Great is Our God", I was completely awestruck! I had never thought about it that way. That song will be an even more awesome blessing every time I sing it in the future and realize that The Lord of Lords is greater than my addiction (to food), greater than my finances, greater than my husband's unbelief (he's a new ager), etc.

I could go on and on! God has used you, Beth Moore, to bless my so much, I cannot even begin to express. I sincerely hope and pray that I'll be able to hug your sweet little neck before we meet in heaven!

Janna

Hi Beth,

I was in Seattle and came home seeking the Lord Jesus and desiring to know him to the fullest. We visited Tully's on the way home. I asked the girls working if there had been an unusually high number of women buying coffee this afternoon and they acknowledged, "Yes, now that you mentioned it." We got a big kick out of how you influence even the coffee shop sales. I look forward to the simulcast on the 24th. God bless you all at Living Proof Ministries for serving the body of Christ the way you do!!!

Beth,

This is the Kim Ulkekul - the last name that sounds like ukulele and I can't tell you how blessed I was that you mentioned my letter during some of your opening words Friday night at the conference in Redmond. Many of the women from my Bible study were also attending and it was so cute as they all let out their little screams of delight as they immediately knew you were talking about me. I just can't tell you how loved I feel by the One who sits on the throne and yet so intimately involved in each one of our lives, knowing us better than we know our selves. I am grateful for your willingness to let Him use you in such a big way for this sister. That takes some stretching to wrap this brain around, for sure. I was hoping I'd have an opportunity to personally thank you between sessions, but there are just too many of us and only one of you. My mom kept nudging my arm during the open mike time with your sweet man, but I didn't want to take away from that time to focus on me. Just know how Jesus must be so pleased with YOU for all you do for us.

Hoping to see you in Vancouver, B.C. in '08. Thanks again and so glad to have this blog to stay connected! It is great. How you must be so blessed by your Amanda. She is great!
