The Big Day!

I had to call my mom the minute I woke up this morning. Well, not quite that minute because I had a little one to tend to. But my first free minute (while I was pouring my tea and making toast from some rather stale bread). I knew she would answer with a smile on her face and with loads of energy because TODAY IS THE FIRST DAY OF BIBLE STUDY! And THIS IS WHAT WE DO! As a group, we are most fulfilled when we're serving a group of ladies on Tuesday nights who have trekked over to Houston's First Baptist Church to worship the Lord and learn His Word. LPM exists for this.

So if the Lord brings it to mind, please lift up Beth and our whole staff as we prepare for Bible study tonight. It is always a very exciting and busy day. Pray for Beth to have concentration, to hear from the Lord, to be filled with His power, and to teach in such a way that the body of Christ is built up. Please also remember Jennifer Hamm, our amazing Bible study coordinator. She will be a very busy girl today. Ask God to give her His energy, peace, wisdom, joy, insight, and endurance.
I hope to have a great report for you tomorrow!

Praying for you, your Mom and the rest of your "God family", Amanda!!! I know He will be so faithful unto you and your ever desiring hearts.
Please tell your mom I left her a special note from Michigan in the "Grandma" post site...and give baby Jack a sweetcheeked kiss from his "distant" Aunties:).
Godspeed ~

Can I just say -- I LOVE THIS BLOG!! We are not groupies of you, Beth, but we love you dearly and this connects us in a fabulous new way. We almost feel like we are in Houston with you -- makes you even more real (if that were possible)!

I'm praying for you and bless you for making me see His Word in a whole new, exciting and lifechanging way!!!

I will eagerly await the Bible study report tomorrow. Will the study be taped for future published studies? I remember watching the video last semester when my church studied Daniel. I believe it was taped at FBC Houston.

Every time the Lord brings ya'lls big day to mind, I will pray for the requests you mentioned.

I can just see your mom coming out as if one of God's cheerleaders saying: "O come, o come and magnify the Lord with me tonight ladies! Let's get to know Him more!"
Love you all!

I will be praying. Thanks for the reminder. With all the stuff of life, (kids, laundry, cleaning, etc.) Sometimes it's good to have reminders of what to pray about.
"Now to Him who is able to do ABUNDANTLY BEYOND ALL that we ask or think, according to the POWER that works WITHIN US, to HIM be the glory in the church and in CHRIST JESUS to ALL generations FOREVER AND EVER. Amen."
Eph. 3:20-21
THAT is what I'm going to be praying for throughout the day for you guys.

Love you so much,
Kristi

As I lay in my bed this morning, just before getting up to get my son off to school, I thought, "Today's the day!! My first Bible Study with Beth....Live and in person...I can't wait." And then I pictured you in the Sanctuary walking around and praying as you say you always do before a gathering such as this...and I felt so thankful that I get to be a part of it. You are so very real to so many people, and you make the Word become even more real to me as you teach it. You are a blessing, and I thank you and your staff for your dedication and devotion to serving God by teaching me, my family and my friends, and so many other women in this world.

Much Love,
Alicia

Thanks Amanda, for letting us know how to help y'all. I'm praying for your Bible study, and as I am, I'm just overwhelmed with the excitement of what God will do in the women you teach. I love your hearts. There are so many of us out here who can't say Thank you enough to you, your mom, and the staff of LPM for what you do. Thanks for giving us the blog to just be able to post a tiny portion of what we feel.

Hi Amanda and Beth!
I will pray for your mom and all involved with the study! I have been to this church a few summers ago for Rivers in the Desert and it was powerful! Life changing! I am thinking of going back on a Tuesday. The people of this church are very kindhearted and have a very humble spirit. If you don't mind I have a prayer request for all who read this, my brother has been out of a job since last October and he has had a few good leads but nothing has come of it. My boys and I live with him. Last night our furnace broke and can't be fixed and it is going to cost around 3,000 to replace it. I bought a kerosene heater today to try and generate heat in the house. We have a man who looked at it but please pray God will give us favor with this man! Thank you for your prayers and I am excited for those attending Bible study tonight. Please give us a report!
Blessings,
Patty

Thank you so much for this blog. Beth really nailed it one time when she mentioned that those of us in leadership often feel isolation in church. To many of us, Beth is one of our best friends. All of the Bible studies have been instumental in my walk with Christ that I am so honored to pray for all of you daily, and it is beneficial to have specifics.
