While I'm Waiting...
While I'm waiting on a scheduled call from my buddy, Louie Giglio, to do a post-Passion 07 podcast, I thought I'd drop you a line. Something very special happened today. Something my heart's really tender about. It's only happened to me 12 times in the last sixteen years so it's a big feeling every time. To God's stunning glory, I just finished writing a Bible study today. It's a six-week study on the Psalms of Ascent (Psalms 120-134), the very specific things they meant to ancient Israelites and what they can mean to us. I cannot express how much I enjoyed the personal journey with God through all the research and writing. I have no idea how it will hit anyone else. I only know that I am marked.
God's Word continues to be my joy and delight and I know that He alone has fueled that fire. I'm actually not sure exactly when the study will be released. I think maybe next Christmas because LifeWay is going to release the updated and completely retaped version of A Woman's Heart: God's Dwelling Place first. (I think it comes out early this summer.) Whenever the study on the Psalms of Ascent is released, it will be dedicated to the women I call "the Raleigh Girls" who attended an event over a year ago in Raleigh, NC. That's where I first spoke on the subject matter and God used their excitement and feedback to stir a passion in me to formulate it into a six-week series. The sessions were all taped in the early Fall with a studio audience in Nashville and, as of today, the homework is complete. I want to say something as many times as it takes to as many people as will listen: God's grace is unfathomable. He has never chosen to redeem any life more covered in mud. As long as I live I will testify to His infinite mercies and to His Truth that sets the most hopeless captive free. He loves you so. You have not done too much or gone too far. Christ wooes you to a place of wholeness, one step at a time, and loves you with a heart that is one hundred per cent pure. He is like no one else you know.

Sweet Beth,
Praise the Lord that despite the depth of our fall, His sacrifice is always deeper.
You remind me of my best friend--twice my age, twice as beautiful, and you make me want to love the Lord twice as hard. What an unspeakable honor to have a soul sister like you.
You rock Mama Beth :)
Beth,
What A Christmas gift for us. Words can not do justice to what your studies have revealed to so many women. We are out there..on the other side of the TV and we have been so blessed. Thanks for always acknowledging us during your lessons. I will continue to lift you up in prayer and thank God for you.... helping to spread his precious word to our hearts. Blessings ON YA!

Beth, Thank you for your love for Jesus and for us. Your words are incouraging and I am excited about the new study coming out. Pray for me as I apply the things God has taught me. He has used you greatly in my life. Love in Christ, Vicki
Oh Beth! The opportunity to tell you how much your ministry has meant in my life -- well I'm about to cry -- and shout too!!! I did "Whispers of Hope" back in 1998 and have completed all of your studies since. Loving each and every one of them dearly. Your passion, enthusiasm, and pure joy in HIM is contagious! You make God's Word come alive -- it IS living!! Thank you for your pure devotion to HIM and the example you set every day. I am so excited about your new study. Thank you from the pit bottom of this Mississippi girl's heart. I LOVE Jesus in You!! Emma Kate Mikels, Tupelo,MS
Well I can't wait for the new study. Each time I go there with you I am drawn to a new place with God. And YOU know US florida girls would love to be "your girls" You gotta come down and enjoy the sunshine, and do a study with us. =) Lori
We pilgrim alongside you, dear friend, in holy expectation of how God will use you to bless us through your writing and teaching. I celebrate this completed work with you! May God use it to his glory as only he can. We love u~elaine
Beth, I can not tell you how much you have blessed the life of others. I have heard your story many times of how you "caught" your passion for Christ in your first bible study class. Well, your bible studies were the first that I ever attended as an adult and every time that I watch you or hear you or read your studies it evokes more passion in me to read more and learn more of Gods word. I think that it is safe to say that I am by far the only one that has caught the passion for our Lord and his word from you! You make it so easy to us girls to feel like we know you. You are such an inspiration to me. I pray that God will continue to richly bless your life and calling as a teacher!
Thank you, Beth, for leading us up those 15 steps on Tuesday nights, and for celebrating our God's faithfulness all the way. He's amazing. The homework has vividly spoken to my circumstances. I never get over the Holy Spirit's ability to customize the lessons for each one of us. Loving being on pilgrimage with you . . .

I can't wait Beth. In reviewing those Psalms I remembered in Psalm 126 vs 5-6 from your study...
"Joy cometh!" PTL.
Psalm 131 in o4' was a time for me of recognizing I had no idea what that felt like truly. ..."But I have stilled and quieted my soul;like a weaned child with its mother, like a weaned child is my soul within me." Anxiety is a ferocious lion. thank you for going ahead and plowing the field for us to yield a harvest... God Bless you sister.
Beth, the passion 07 podcasts are great. Can't wait to hear your inteview. I just downloaded some of the music from 07. Chris Tomlin kept me up this week.
Beth,
As you finished writing your 12th study, I finished your book, Get out of that Pit. I will not be able to express to you how this book has ministered to me. I have been in a mulitude of pits and have been delivered out of them. I am in a few pits not of my doing but as someone who has been pushed in. The verses you used are the verses God has spoken to me over and over but in your book they took on a whole new meaning. I am forever touched by your book and you and God make one awesome team! I am crying out to God for help and praying the scriptures you gave us in the back. I was touched by the story you told about your mom and I know that was hard for you to share but I am thankful you did. It hits close to home. It ministers to me. I love the verses you talked about concerning Heaven. God is leading me to teach on Heaven in my Sunday School Class. I am learning as I am teaching and it is scary and exciting at the same time. Oddly enough I finished the Daniel study tonight. Man, what a ride! My head is still spinning but yes, I did have fun and my brain hurts!! I am overjoyed right now and I thank you for ministering to me. Beth, it has been a privielege and honor walking together in God's Word and growing together and congratulations on completing your 12th study. I look forward to starting a new study with you and can't wait to see the adventures God has for us. You are a blast!
Love,
Patty
Thanks for your words, Beth ("He loves you so. You have not done too much or gone too far. Christ wooes you to a place of wholeness, one step at a time,... He is like no one else you know.") They make me cry.

Thanks so much (again) for making God such a blast to me. He is everything, and His sustaining power has been poured out through you to show me.. Him. Oh I love Him so much! Thanks sister for showing this blind one the way. I think that you are indeed a "wellspring of sweetness." That's from either Streams in the Desert (dessert? hee hee) or My Utmost.
Bless you and your precious family and staff!

What a cutie little Jackson is! May God use Him mightily in His generation.
Beth, you absolutely bless my heart. I, too, have been a pit hopper, dweller and decorator! I lived much of my life believing I had gone too far, and that God would forgive me, but that I was useless to Him. Your life, your transparency, your encouragement has constantly inspired me to look up and RECEIVE the forgiveness, freedom and peace that Christ offers me. Thank you for being real sister! I love you!
Bless you!
Elizabeth
Beth how do you do it?? I know it has to be the anointing of the Holy Spirit...it's just not normal! It doesn't happen with every teacher/preacher I hear or study with (not even my hubby and he is anointed!) Everytime I go through your studies or hear you teach it is like this vaccum that pulls me in deeper and leaves me wanting more! I just found your blog the other day and thought oh how cool...and low and behold it happens here too!
It is refreshing put painful and causes a hunger for more of HIM! I can't wait for that new study to come out...think I'll start early meditating on those scriptures! Thank you so much Beth for being transparent and vulnerable to the point that God is seen through you! You leave His fragrance behind...even on a little blog page!
By the way, I chuckled yesterday as I read about your grandbaby! My little surprise baby 17 month old Joshua(with 3 siblings ages 14,11 1/2 and 10) is such a joy! This week he started actually pointing to his 10 year old sister and saying her name...well sort of...her name is Emily, we call her Emi and he says Memi! God is so awesome to use these little ones to bring us joy! Blessings Beth!
Okay - I'm Emma Kate's (4th comment) best friend, and I have to tell you: what she said in her comment is only the tip of the iceberg in terms of what your ministry has meant to her and her family. Really, I think she loves you better than chocolate.
Also: I bet you a dollar to a doughnut (sorry. is that bad to bet with Beth Moore? I think it may be be against the rules) that when EK finished typing her comment she said "UMMM" in a really high-pitched voice and fanned her eyes to dry the tears. She's the sister of my heart.
Now I'm teary-eyed just knowing what your ministry has meant to her, and I'm so tickled that she got to tell you. I could hug both of you to pieces.
Thank you for being the messenger for the MESSAGE!
Beth,
Thank you for being so transparent and head over heels with Jesus!
You have helped me see God for who He is and who I am in Jesus. I was in a deep pit, ready to die but Jesus brought " Breaking Free" study into my hands and I was saved from satan's grip, praise God!!!
I love His Word, it is so alive. Beth, thank you for listening to His voice and drenching us with His love!
I can't wait for the Psalms study!
Blessings to you sweet Beth
Joy
Oh my gosh Beth, I am so excited that you are doing this blog. I haven't checked out the website lately, so I just found out about it. This is so cool!
I have sat here and read all your blogs, and most of the comments and just let tears stream down my face because there are so many women that you have touched, and they feel as close to you and loved by you as I do. How can that be when we don't even spend face to face time together? There is something so very special about the way God just connects all of us. I have often wondered how I could ever ask you questions, or chat with you, and now like someone else mentioned, God is using something that the enemy has meant for evil, for something so sweet as this.
It's almost like we can lean across the table and touch you.(being careful not to spill our coffees!) My heart has been so blessed by God through you, and I am a totally different woman than I was when I first started doing your Bible Studies.
I never really understood what it was like to truly know the LOVE God has for us, and who I REALLY am through Christ, until I facilitated Believing God, twice, back to back, in my home. I am a firm believer that you can't lead where you haven't traveled, so to facilate a group I asked the Lord to give me "fresh manna" every week. Guess what? He did!!! He is so very faithful.
I know this is way too long, but I have so much I wish I could tell you. Thank you Beth. From the depths of my heart, THANK YOU!!! :)

Beth, As one of your "Raleigh Girls" I cannot wait for the study! Someone just asked me last week when the study would be out. We were so touched by God's message as we experienced it live, that we hunger for the full study and yes, even the homework! Every day that I take the time to start out "on my face" results in blessings. Thank you for following God's call on your life. It has meant so much to all of us. His Word comes alive through you!
Beth,
Just wanted you to know that last night in our nightly prayers my husband thanked God for you, and how you are being used to show him to a closer relationship with Christ (we are doing Jesus, the One and Only together..his first study of yours) I have loved you for years, and now my husband loves you to with the love of Christ. You will always be a part of our family. Kim and now, Aaron
You are marked and sealed and He uses you so beautifully to convey what we all need so desperately to hear--that we are not too far gone, without hope, but God in his unfathomable and relentless mercy saves us every single day from ourselves! Thanks be to God. I celebrate with you!
Col. 3:10 Keep pressing on, my sweet sister. Love, Annette
I'm a Raleigh girl who was DEEPLY touched by my study of the Psamlms of Assent - never have I experienced the LORD like I did face down on my office floor, - oh to the heights He will take us when we bow down to His Lordship. I look forward with great anticipation to this study.
Dearest Beth, I ditto Lori! I'm a Raleigh Girl, too. How exciting it was to receive your "homework" after getting back home from another awesome LPL! Thank you for allowing us a part in forming the study, too. You are just too great! And our God is even GREATER! HALLELUJAH!
Dear Beth,
This comes from one of your "Raleigh Girls"; how blessed we were to be there and take part of something so special. It was there and through that homework that I learned to take my place on my face. Thank you for your continued obedience to write each study and for sharing your life with all of us.
Many prayers and blessings!!! Kelli
Beth, thank you so much for that last statement. I'm going through a HUGE battle of the mind right now and I KNOW that God used that to remind me of His faithfulness to me. I really want to be free from this pattern in my life, but I'm just weary. Little reminders like the one you sent help me to face each day one at a time.
Bless you friend,
Kristi
I just came upon this blog yesterday and am so excited to read about the Moore's "up-close" with pictures and all. I have yet to catch up on all the entries, but will do so tomorrow, Saturday. I can't believe I love a family (whom I've never met!) so much like I do the Moore's, and Sunny and Beanie too!
beth moore, this is jodie pentak. all i can say is that for the last 20 years you have been such an inspiration to me. i have a bible my sweet husband gave me before we were married and while i was still a single in your women's bible study class at hfbc. i have the whole old testament marked up when you were going through what would become your first bible study a women's heart. you have encouraged me to be the best mom i could be and a great wife. i am so glad i have had the opportunity to know you. i love you sister and am thrilled you are a grandmother!!
Beth,
I was given the unique privilege to attend the taping of Psalms of the Ascent in Nashville. I was so afraid that I would be so in awe of you that I wouldn't be able to learn anything. However, the most amazing thing happened. I sat there in awe of hearing and seeing Jesus so clearly through you that I hardly saw "you" at all. My eyes were glued to you and my mouth gaped open as I tried to absorb the Word that God had clearly given to you and I am so thankful for your obedience and passion for Him. You are "living proof" that i am not nuts for wanting more and more of Him. You are my spiritual Mom and I thank you for it.

It is a year later, and I am facilitating The Psalms of Ascent at my small church In Folsom CA. and God's timing is just so awesome. Yesterday I was troubled over some peoples reaction to me adopting another child.....(don't I have enough already?) and then I opened my homework last night and what was it?....Psalm 127..and that I will not be ashamed....my quiver is getting fuller. Thank you Beth for your faithfulness and thank You God for your timing. (I had to write about it on my adoption blog: http://findingolivia.blogspot.com/)
