The Wise Thing To Do
We're facing some icy conditions here in Texas at the moment. Extreme heat we can deal with, but ice is not our forte. Our spring semester of Bible study on the Book of Proverbs was to begin tomorrow, but we feel the wisest thing to do is to postpone it until next week. Beth will spend the week finishing the last four days of Psalms of Ascent. For our Houston girls, here's the email we sent out just in case it didn't get to you:
My Beloved Bible Study Sisters,
Because your lives and your safety are so valuable to us, we are convinced the only wise thing we can do with the weather forecast for Tuesday night is postpone the beginning of our January series one week. We will now launch our new series Wising Up, a topical study of the Book of Proverbs, on Tuesday evening, January 23rd. I was so looking forward to seeing you and studying God’s Word with you but I will have to wait one more week. The forecast shows a high probability of precipitation and a high temperature of only 32 degrees on Tuesday. Almost all of you reach the church via various freeway overpasses. I just can’t take the chance with your safety. Even if the weather lets up, the decision has to be irreversible because of all the personnel that must know in advance. Thank you for your understanding. I hope to see many of you on the 23rd! I’m really excited about this series! God’s Word is life and power, Sweet Sisters. Let’s keep our knees on the ground and our face in that Book. I’m crazy about you and so thankful to serve you.
In the everything Name of Jesus Christ,
Beth Moore
One last thing...Mom and I want so much for this blog to be a blessing and not become a source of frustration for those who are seeking specific answers to questions. We have a much better avenue through the Living Proof Web site's contact page. Thank you so much! Have a happy and blessed Monday!

I feel your freeze burn !! Here in Arizona we are also freezing ..Pipes are bursting and rodeways are froze over.. I have lived here for 20plus years and it has never been like this. Our high may only get to 35..
Love your ministry .. Thanks for coming to Phx..May God warm our hearts and homes.
I completely agree with your decision to start a week later. I was torn between wanting to attend tomorrow night and fearing the weather. Being a southern girl, I have no idea how to drive in ice or snow. Thanks for caring so much about our safety. See you on the 23rd.
Hello!
I was listening to the radio this morning(to know if my sons' bus was cancelled)and heard them talking about how bad it is in Texas! My thoughts went immediately to you, praying you would keep safe in this crazy weather! I live in Canada and we just started getting freezing rain last night! It's a good time to stay in, curled up with a good book...like the Bible!!
Keep safe everyone!
Your sister in Christ
Jennifer
Prayers for all of you during this potentially difficult travel time.
Here in GA its so hot I have the windows open and a t-shirt that says "believing God". We need more clothes from LPM.
I love snow and would love to have some but its not looking like it this year.
Oh how I wish I lived in Texas so I could be blessed by the presence of you precious women at Mrs. Beth's Bible Studies! Praying for you all as you begin this new series together! Blessings my beautiful sisters :)
My parents live about 5 minutes from your church and I had no idea the weather was going to be that bad!
It's so funny when you live in a "cold" climate to think of a town shutting down when it hits 32 degrees! (I was a missionary in Ukraine for almost 9 years.) BUT I was born and raised in Houston so totally understand why....we just aren't prepared for that kind of frozen-ness! brrr!

I am in Mo. and just had a lot of freezing rain over the weekend, I'm glad you are postponing. I'm sure you have heard "Missouri's Miracle" which I call "God's Missouri Miracle." I just started the Daniel Study and am anxious to see on Wed. if the other ladies had the same parallel of how you talked about Daniel being ripped out of his parents hands and their identities. How often stories from the Bible can still be seen in our lifes and how we still need to trust and know God is God! God bless your ministry!
Well I will send prayers from the 84 degree florida, I have never even seen snow. And I will pray for your concern for this blog. I know there are ALOT of hurting peeps put there and we all want answers, good thing we all have a direct line to the maker of the stars. God bless you both!!
send some snow our way please. Here in VA we have been having 70 degree weather!!
I only wished I LIVED where you live so I could come to your Bible Study personally! Maybe someday.. until then, we'll freeze here in Colorado Springs!
needless to say i'm missing tuesday night class....it always feels SO RIGHT to be there.....lucky for me i can go to hfbc thursday night for james macdonald.....i always hear so much when he teaches!!!!! hoping to see many familiar faces soon!
Hey Beth I saw this quote in an old book called fool proofing your life. The quotes by Walter Benjamin: "The only way of knowing a person is to love them without hope." I was thinking about your family member.Jan 13th.
Question: We have tickets for LP here in Detroit. I know doors usually open an hr. early...will we have to stand outside in the cold or will them open them earlier? High's are in the 20's now...wondering if I'll have to wear my longjohns or not! :)
This is so cute and unimaginable to my little Wisconsin mind. We've had blizzard and blizzard up here!
