A Grateful Woman

I am sitting here on the couch in my jammies, Beanie snuggling right beside me, feeling a flood of gratitude for so many things. On the top of my list...

A community of Siestas who prayed like maniacs for me this weekend for the Life Today taping and God heard them. He restrained my cough and cold and did not let me feel achy and fluish like I had the previous few days. He gave me a terrific studio audience (including three of our darling Siestas!) made up of people who didn't just come to be part of a show. They came to be part of a move of God. Your prayers were practically palpable. I cannot thank you enough. The loved one in such bondage that AJ asked you to intercede for has not resurfaced yet but, considering the power of such prayer, I can't imagine that she is easily resisting an encounter with Christ.

A staff of some of the most exceptional women of God I have ever known in my life at Living Proof Ministries. They work hard without complaining. They are as different as night and day but as thick as blood. They are free to go anywhere and with anyone they want for workday lunch but most of the time, they choose to go together en mass. They are lavish in their love and support for one another, for me, and for the women they serve. They can talk a hundred miles an hour without a single word of gossip. Amazing. They are a rare breed. And all because they dig the Lord Jesus. Every single one of them is living proof that God's Word totally transforms lives and resets paths.

Two incredible daughters who inspire me and spill my life with unspeakable joy and each as much as the other. I became a mom 28 years ago this evening. I had only been married 9 months and 3 weeks and it was not going well. I was terrified and deeply troubled and trying to act like I had it all together. Then something not even as big as a good bass, as Keith used to say, interrupted everything. I have never been as disarmed in my life as I was when the labor and delivery nurse placed that seven pound three ounce newborn daughter on my chest. When we had our first minutes alone a few hours later, I carefully unwrapped her, studied her tiny little arms and legs, hands and feet, then baptized her in tears. I could not imagine how something so pure could have come from someone like me. My life changed dramatically 28 years ago. It would be a number of years before I'd trust Christ enough to break out of that prison cell of bondage I was in but, that day 28 years ago, a ray of sunlight came through the window that made me know a different life was out there...and worth fighting for.

A life worth you fighting for, too. And you don't have to have a baby to convince you. You could just take God at His Word. It can be considerably less painful.

God is Good. I'm believing God, week 3. SOOOOOOOO AWESOME! Incredible testimony, my friend who happens to be Jewish asked me just before we started Believing God..."Is this Bible Study something I could go to?" I could hardly speak my excited "Ummm, sure, of course!" She is learning SO much and the covenant stuff (new and old) in week 3 was AMAZING, especially looking at it from a non-saved Jewish perspective. She was SO interested and (inside) I'm jumping for joy as I see the light bulbs go on! BLESS GOD!

So glad your weekend was amazing, your words touch a multitude, I mean a MULITIUDE. God is indeed SO VERY GOOD!

Wow Beth, such moving and powerful words. Thank you for all that you do and for who you are--such an incredible blessing to us. The recent teaching series on Life Today was so awesome, you just jumped right out of the TV and into my living room. I look forward to those 15 minutes every week. You speak so well and tell the best stories, but most importantly bring the Word of God to life.

Your sentence, "They can talk a hundred miles an hour without a single word of gossip." struck me. I have known one such woman in my life and continue to marvel at her to this day. She was outwardly beautiful and attractive as you are. She was the wife of the sunday school teacher for our very first class as a married couple. Honestly I expected her to be very snobby and to be connected to a clique of other beautiful women that would exclude me. But she was so very kind, welcoming, and loving to every single person and even to me and the other women who don't come near her level of outward beauty and success. She is really something and so Christ Like that I often ask God to help me be more like her since she is so much like Him. I am thankful for her influence so early in my life and marriage. Surely I would be different if I hadn't known her. It has been over 11 years since I have seen her. She is now in Africa serving God faithfully with her husband and four boys. I continue to marvel at her (cooking from scratch and bathing in half an inch of freezing water!). Surely the women there are benefiting from her love and influence.

Would it be possible for you to elaborate on this point of not gossipping? It is such a rare quality and try as I might, even though I am not a busy body, saying things about people to others that I would not say to one's face occurrs regularly. It would also be wonderful if you could consider sharing with us how to be a beautiful woman, both inwardly and outwardly. How can I model good self care and godly beauty (outside as well as inside) to my daughter when I fear that the cast of "What Not to Wear" or the fashion police are around the corner? Myself and many of my friends also struggle with how to be a good wife and managing our home (cooking, cleaning...).

Thank you for being you Beth. When we get to Heaven, you will have to use golden binoculars to see me way down at the far end of the banquet table, but I'll be waving.

I'm in my jammies, too! I'm also a grateful woman, too!

Just wanted to express my gratefulness to you and to God for your ministry at LPM. I just finished a portion of week 5 in Breaking Free, and I can say whole-heartedly that in my life and heart, you all have accomplished your mission! I've been a Christian for a long time, but God's Word is more alive in me than ever before, and He has used a couple of your studies to do so! Thank you, Beth, to the other Living Proof ladies, and to those that pray for your ministry. Keep up God's work!

From a long time reader of the blog and first time commenter! And I'd love to be a Siesta!

God bless you, sweet Beth. It inspires me to see all that the Lord has done for you since your baby girl was born 28 years ago. You give me hope for all that God has in store for me. As I read your account of studying your baby girl so carefully, I held my breath and swallowed a big lump. My husband and I have three little girls. The first was born healthy and the moments I shared with her, my Hope - born on the sixth anniversary of the day that God saved me from myself and my sin - are much like the ones you describe with Amanda. The second, my Mattie, was born in critical condition and so those moments were stolen as she was whisked away from me. But the reason I hold my breath is because my baby, my Miller Grace, was born almost four months ago. It was not in the meeting her, but in the rocking her all the way to Jesus five days later, that I became fully aware of how very worth fighting for life truly is. I, too, am grateful.

Be blessed, faithful servant.

Beth,
I never have posted to your blog or met you in person. But I've watched you on tv and done some Bible studies with you. Thank you for obeying the Lord and loving Him and letting us watch. Thank you for welcoming. I feel myself saying, can I be a siesta too? Thank you...God loves a big family, doesn't He?

I am an avid reader and occasional short commenter, but your post and my need of prayer has brought me to something a little lengthier tonight.

Thank you for your encouragement to "keep fighting". I am at a point right now where I feel so emotionally and spiritually drained that I don't feel like I've got much fight left.

To make a long story short, I could really the prayer of some siestas this week! My husband who just found out he has melanoma is having a large section of his arm cut out to hopefully get all the cancer.

To top it off last month we had an early miscarriage (after several months of trying) and am now 3 days late with 1 negative pregnancy test. My hormones are enough to be driving me crazy, let alone the emotional rollercoaster of it all.

All I know if that God must think an awful lot of to think I can handle all of this!

So if you siestas have any extra praying power, our family sure could use it!

Amen for such blessings. Sometimes it is good to just sit back and look at all that God has lavished us with- HE truly does meet all our needs in AMAZING ways. Oh, I could sing His praises all day!! He is good to us, even when we don't always "feel" it, we can rest assure, HE is there, He is holding our hands, and He is so real and alive. I am so grateful that all our prayers were heard- He loves you so much Beth, and so do I!! See ya Tuesday!

I thought I would jot down a few things I am thankful for as well.
1. My husband. He is father to five girls and one boy and he plays the part beautifully. He works so hard, never complains and is always ready to do even more when I ask him to. He is a servant and an example for me to follow.
2. My children. I grew up without family and to now be surrounded by children of my own is such a gift. I LOVE my job. My job of being called to love on my babies and then to love on them all the more.
3. God's faithfulness. His power to strenghten the weak, to ignite passion, to deliver from darkness, and to captivate our hearts. I am thankful that He cares for the weak and I love the fact that He is moved to action when we call upon His Name. He uses the simple. He makes Himself known. His voice is sounding and the hungry run to Him and they are fed.

My God Beth. I was sitting here desperate. I'm 7 months pregnant, so sick and feeling beyond defeated. I'm leading a group of 17 ladies through Breaking Free(they are breaking loose, Glory to God)but little do they know when I get done encouraging them, I'm laying on the floor feeling desperate. I just said out loud, God can you send an encourager. I clicked on the blog and there it was. A glorious post of hope. Hope that the life inside me will overcome all this illness to be strong. And a hope that this soon-to-be-momma will fight against fear, defeat, and hopelessness to break free again and again. Thank you once again for being a mighty bridge to belief. I thank God for you Beth Moore. May God bless you.

I just got back from the "Amazing Freedom" WOF conference this weekend in Portland. What an AMAZING weekend. I just love all those speakers, Sandi Patty, and ANITA RENFROE! So stinkin' funny! I'm the one who will find the money to bail you out of jail and also the one who will sit in jail with you and say "wasn't that the most fun we had EVER?" Anyways all that to say...we ARE free! Free to dance, to sing, to be joyful in the midst of unthinkable circumstances and free to LIVE! From one grateful woman to another~ I love you, Beth. Thank you for being you and for loving God and us.
Happy Happy birthday to YOU, Amanda! I love you so much.

Precious Beth,
I am in the middle of doing your Daniel study and truly admire your gift of teaching! I am so weary right now of this society. My daughter attended her first homecoming this past weekend. She is a freshman in high school and together we shopped for her dress and accessories and had many giggles over what we thought would be a fun night. She was nervous, but encouraging as I am, said she should go and have a great time. She had a lot of fun at a pre-party that she went to with friends and at the post-overnight that she had with her girlfriend, but the party itself was very disappointing. The images I have in my head after the brief comments she made about the "grinding" and "making out" are horrible. I cannot imagine what must be going on in her head! What is wrong with society? How can behavior like this be not only acceptable, but sought after by so many young people? All I can do is pray-pray that my baby can be strong enough to see that she's really not missing out- that she can be modest and graceful and still be surrounded by friends and love- and that being a godly young woman is so much more attractive than what she is bombarded with every day. Thank you Beth, for teaching us, accepting us and loving us!

Bless you Beth and Happy Birthday Amanda!

I felt the same way when my first daughter was born just over 3 years ago. (I now have another daughter, 1 year old) I have two beautiful precious children that are PURELY, SIMPLY gifts from God alone. I never imagined in my wildest dreams God would lavish His love on me by birthing new hope and new life through me, a person who is not worthy but who is REDEEMED. Praise God and thank him for Psalm 139, that we can all know we have a maker, creator and father in heaven who loves and who gives every good and perfect gift that exists!

Oh Beth, we had our daughters a month apart! My daughter was born Sept. 14. Just today I was thinking about her as a child and tearfully wondering "did I do Ok?" I can't go there because the enemy still throws condemnation at me from past forgiven mistakes. My 28 year-old is in the kitchen right now making chicken enchiladas, my two grandkids are playing in the living room. My husband and son-in-law are in the back room talking man stuff and I AM BLESSED. God is good. and There is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus...Thank you Lord. Thank you Sister for reminding me that I made mistakes but I was as good as I could be at the time. Wish we could have had baby/mom time together with our little girls. HOping I can get my daughter to come to San Diego next year and "meet" you. Luv ya.

Beth thank you for sharing all the parts of your life the easy parts and the hard parts. I am part of a group of 17 women who just completed week 4 of "A woman's heart: God's Dwelling Place" We have had two people turn their lives over to the Lord during this study. A 22 year old Mom of two children and a 15 year old girl. Our group is so excited and committed to finishing this study and doing God's will in our lives. BUT..... tonight I go to our church's business meeting and its business as usual. A stagnant, stiff necked, unyolkable group who love to predict doom and gloom for our church. It is disheartening at times to worship with people who do not care except for how each penny is spent and who have no interest in the church growing. It is a small percentage of people in our church, but it does drag me down at times. I would like to ask if you would pray for our church, pray for our bible study group. I already feel better knowing that their are other sisters out there who will pray for our church to break through the barrier that keeps us from being the church God desires us to be. Thanks

My mother is now with the Lord but there was one thing she did for her four children that touches me to this day...she would call on our birthdays and share with us what she was doing so many years ago on the day of our birth. I would have messages on my machine like, "Honey, ok, 30 years ago at this exact hour I was driving to the hospital with your father.."

I now do the same with my four children. Thank you for the sweet reminder Beth.

God Bless you,Joanne

Isn't it amazing what the birth of a child can do? In the midst of new motherhood, I was utterly overwhelmed with His love. I looked at this perfect gift and finally realized how much He loved me...to bestow this gift.

It has forever changed me. It has made me thirst for Him in ways I never knew. It has made me want to become the Proverbs 31 woman. I want to be the mother He destined me to be.

Dear Beth,

I just logged on to see if anyone had written tonight !!!! Yes you had. You are so right, being thankful for all of the people God has given us. This life is worth fighting for(it is a fight)and it is great to have friends who will fight along with us and for us. So thankful you had such grace for the taping. Our family experienced the prayers of our family and friends as well this weekend. My 5 year old son was diagnosed with pneumonia early in the week, but never responded to the antibiotics and had to be admitted Thursday afternoon to Texas Children's. We had people all over the US praying for him and today we got to come home. He still needs to be completely restored but he is on the right path. How thankfull we are to Jesus for seeing us through and for all the faithful friends who fought for us in prayer.

I am glad that our Father kept the cold and cough from setting in while you were taping. He is awesome!
I had a moment this week, where God just reminded me of all that I have in my life. A family that annoys me no end but then I realized that all the things they do are in love. They want to be apart of all that goes on in my life because they love me. A lot of people I know don't have that. I have friends who love me even when I have to cancel plans to visit them after planning to do so for months! They understand and tell me I did the right thing. I have a boss who cares. Cares about the employees, the customers and the Lord. A man who prays before he hires a new associate. A man who prays for each employee and what's going on in their lives.
I could go on and on. God has just showed me over and over this week that my life is pretty good! I have a lot to be grateful for and I need to stop whining about what I don't have and embrace what I do have!
Thanks, Mama B, for beautifully sharing things with us. I pray that you have a great Monday tomorrow! May the start of your week be loverly!
Love you!
~Nikki~

Beth - was in tears as I read your posting. Happy Birthday Amanda! Amen and Amen . . .

Beth - Went to the Project Row Festival in the 3rd Ward today after church and girl, you would have so loved the small tea cup size terrier that was there with a top knot held in place with a tiny purple hair clip and she sported a purple "outfit" with jewels on it!!!! I told my man - Beth Moore would so love this . . . a Texas girl with big hair neatly in place (well as big as it can be on something so tiny - have never seen a dog so small!!) - even on a humid day, dressed to the nines, and so cute and modest!

Would recommend that any Houston girls visit the houses - they change the art exhibits in each house every 6 months and they are OUTSTANDING!!! Beautiful stories are being told through the work of the artists . . . we were truly moved.

Have a great week Siestas! Stop and breath the Lord in - He is waiting for us . . .

Beth, you put words to my life and I have something tonight I've not had before; I know something tonight I didn't know a moment before this weekend. Holly & Christie & I sat in your LIFE TODAY audience and listened for seven hours straight as God did Luke 24:45--he opened our minds a teenitsy bit to understand Truth. No, I didn't come for a show. I came cause I am so desperate for my beautiful God and I thought He was gonna show up and He did. The Spirit of the Sovereign God was ALL OVER YOU Isaiah 61:2. I am so "curved in on myself" but my sovereign God stood me up through you this year, this weekend. And I'm over here tonight asking myself five questions from what I heard from the beautiful God in you: Am I driven by comfort or driven by my Christ? What on earth do I do in this situation? (and you answered it). When was the last time I repented? What words of forgiveness can I FED EX to my God's Hand? What drives me to my knees today? Tune in to LIFE TODAY Wednesdays with Beth and you'll find answers to these 5 questions but you will find so much More... you'll find that Life worth fighting for...you will catch the Aroma of Christ, II Cor. 2:14, in this woman of Beauty and you'll find how to connect with your ever-present precious priceless Prince of Peace who is waiting for you in the words of the River of Life flowing from Beth Moore. I cannot thank you enough Beth...but it's truly all about Him in you and through you! I am so glad you are not curved in on yourself...you are such a servant---Isaiah 49:2---a servant for the display of His Splendor.

As a part of the prayer team on Tuesday Nights, I happened to pick up the cough drop wrapper from the floor after we prayed over you. There was no trash can nearby, so I stuck it in my Bible.

I opened my Bible only to find it (the wraper) in one of my favorite Psalms #63.

"Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you." Psalm 63:3 YOUR LIPS WERE MORE THAN ABLE TO GLORIFY HIM!

I also prayed for your strength, Isaiah 40:29-31, the version from the Message is great:

He energizes those who get tired,
gives fresh strength to dropouts.
For even young people tire and drop out,
young folk in their prime stumble and fall.
But those who wait upon God get fresh strength.
They spread their wings and soar like eagles,
They run and don't get tired,
they walk and don't lag behind.

May God continue to use you in a MIGHTY way, sweet Siesta - you are his anointed one. You Bless my socks off!!!

Now I anxiously wait for Wednesdays to hear the messages you gave. Do you know when they will be telecast?

Does that mean that today is A.J.s birthday? Happy birthday, dear one. I can't wait until tomorrow morning, during my quiet time, when I can thank Jesus for your birth, and the woman you have become, and how you radiate with His love in a way that couldn't be more beautiful and, unbelievably, authentic.

How I wish all of your Siestas could take you to lunch to celebrate YOU, and shower you with gifts from your girlfriends. We would then, of course, out of pure obligation, have to go shopping. Maybe on your 29th or 30th...

Lots of xoxo's to A.J. and Beth.

Dear Beth,

Reading your blog at this late hour encouraged me so much that I don't have the words for it. It is 'neat' (for lack of a better word) to read that just like you had a baby 9 months and 3 weeks into your marriage, I did too! Ours also wasn't going well (5 years ago) but God really started to do a marvelous work when I started attending your Bible studies at my local church. I have been through 5 of them and fall more in love with the Lord the more I learn!

Thank you for what you do! Keep it up! I wish I could give you a big hug for all you have invested and sacrificed so God could use you to touch a once terrified to trust Him, former pit dweller like myself!

God bless your socks off!

Talk about life-changing. I can't imagine my life without him now! I love reading your blog and am so thankful for you transparency and honesty! My husband and I along with some dear friends of ours just started a church in salem, oregon and our young mom's Bible study just finished your study on Daniel and will start your updated Woman's Heart study after Thanksgiving. Thanks for your committment to God's word! We're learning and growing up here in Oregon!

It is 5 am here on Long Island. I am just sitting down for some quiet time before the zoo wakes up. I wasn't fortunate enough (really smart) to wake up 19 years ago when I became a mother for the first time, but here 8 mos after becoming a mom for the fifth time (it didn't take God this long to get ahold of me, happened during pregnancy of number 2 14 years ago) I too am grateful and so very blessed for all that God has entrusted me with. It has been very evident this past week during the death of a Soldier in our neighborhood (47, massive heart attack-don't think he knew the Lord)Ladies-you have no idea how God can use you if you will just say here I am let me be a blessing to someone. Thank you Beth for teaching how to fall in love with Jesus and His Word, but also for being an encouragement to me everyday. I don't know if I will ever get the privelage of being able to thank you in person, but maybe some day in Heaven I can buy you a coffee. All my love, Stephanie

Happy Birthday Amanda! I hope you have a wonderful day!
I'm glad the taping went well Beth! God does answer prayers!
I have a precious example of how God answers prayers. In our 8:30 service our pastor anounced that a 5 yr old child who is the daughter of a neighbor church's pastor fell off a trampoline a few days ago and was paralyzed. By the 11:00 service we got word that she was moving, no signs of paralysis!

Our church is in revival this week. Pray that the lost will come to Christ and the Christians renew their spirit!

Lord,

We continue to pray for the precious relative of the Moore family, in fact our relative - our sister. Please protect her and deliver her. In the Name of Jesus Christ we place the Cross between this dear sister and the kingdom of darkness. Lord, please send Your perfect laborers across her path to share the love of Jesus and the Gospel with her today. I also ask You to give her a fresh revelation of Your love. In the Mighty Name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

Amen. You don't even know how much what,
"A life worth you fighting for, too. And you don't have to have a baby to convince you. You could just take God at His Word. It can be considerably less painful."

My blog siestas know what I am going through, but for the first time I really feel like if I share it would be more of an encouragement then frustration, so I am going to.

When you come from a home where neglect is evident, and you don't have people in your life to really support you, but be," on the outside looking in", you just want something you can call your own.

But God has taught me that His love is worth MORE than anything in life I could be given, and though I want a husband and a family someday, He continuously tells me that HIS LOVE IS ENOUGH!

A message at church was the SAME message I wrote in my devotional on " Putting up our Shields",whicg was taking up our " Shield of Faith", a day before; I almost fell out of my seat!
I mean the same verses and everything...even ones I read before church..Phil 4...

so I can't even tell you how much of a puddle in love I am with Jesus...He is everything!

But I am blessed to have all of you as well:)

I love you siestas!

Beth, thank you for updating us on the prayer requests! I was thinking and praying all weekend. Praise the LORD for saying "Here am I" when we called out to Him.

My little ones are much littler than your little ones. But God also used the birth of my children to begin a mighty work in my life. I'm only sorry that I wasted so many years resisting Him. But I can see that He was working things out in His time. I obviously had to learn some things the hard way. But I'd do it all over again just to get the amazing blessings that I have now.

By the way, can I just say that I always have to type in the word verification on these comments at least two times! Boy, talk about a lesson in perception! Sometimes the way I see things is not the way things really are!

Dearest Beth,
From my couch, with coffee in hand, and comfy jammies I say a prayer of gratitude to our LORD for your ministry. This post could not have had a greater title, for I am a 'grateful woman' as well. I was blessed at WOF in Atlanta back in August by you and the whole WOF team. Then, I was simply "grateful" to have a weekend away, with 35 of my closest friends. The morning you spoke, I received a true blessing when you shared, a simple side tracked story about your ministry meaning nothing if you failed as a wife. Words that struck me to the core, and my little treasure for the weekend. You went on to share from 2 Cor and again I was blessed by your message of comfort, but honestly I was also in that, "this is someones blessing...I already got mine."
One week later, I received the call no one ever wants to receive. My husbands only sibling, his sister has taken her life. How do I tell my husband? Our kids? How do we comfort his parents, who are not believers? Almost immediately, the words from 2Cor came back to mind...they became my life line for the next two weeks. They were the prayer we asked our SS to pray the morning we told our children, they were the words we asked believing members of our family to pray over us everytime they asked what they could do. Now, almost two months later, they are still the words I pray everyday. I am 'grateful' once again.
Most of all I am 'grateful' that my own finite mind and boastful heart was no match for the WORD of GOD.
Thank you Beth
With a 'grateful'heart,
April

Beth, I was there at the Life Today taping. South Carolina girl! I had the hardest week of my life. I just about didn't make it there. Satan surely didn't want me to. I will write you someday on the details of that when I can proclaim freedom in Christ.
The biggest thing I learned was praising Christ in the valley. That is where I am and the clouds are so thick above at times I feel like I am smothering.BUT, God is good and I have seen his hand move like waves upon the waters. I have seen him taking intensive care of me like I have never seen before. I know he is out to do something big.

Thank you for this weekend. On the plane ride back all I could do was look out the window and say " God, You are truly bigger than any of us can imagine"

Love Siesta,
Tabitha

I lived in bondage for so many years, but once I had my first daughter, God spoke to me LOUDLY this time that He wanted to deliver me. Not only for my sake, but for the sake of my precious daughter who would follow in my footsteps. He made me question where I would take her and my answer was immediately to deliverance!! Having my precious little girl was my first sunshine, too.

Thank you, Beth for sharing your family with us. We know our blessings well, but you have a way of making us more aware through Christ. You are a gift!!

Beth,

'Blessed' really doesn't even begin to describe what the Lord has showered on me. I think 'ridiculously, absurdly blessed' might begin to describe how I feel. The Lord truly saw through my sin to my need and boy did He ever meet my need in an overboard kind of way. Truly, I am a tropy of His grace. I always loved that song by NewSong ("Trophies of Grace") because it described me to a tee.

Glad you are feeling better. YOU, sweet one, are a blessing in my life that I cannot even begin to describe. Your teaching was contagious and the Word came alive for me. Now, I love studying and teaching the Word--opening up the Bible for others to drink in. Thank you for your faithfulness to your calling.

In His Hand,

Leah

Beth: Praise God for your taping results - I love the word you used to share that the prayers you felt were "palpable," that is such a good description for us visual learners to understand how real it was.

What a great post - you grateful woman, you! I am also so grateful to YOU!!! Our women's ministry had our annual fall retreat just this past weekend. It was a beautiful setting in north Georgia right near a river with lots of "delights." In fact, the retreat team was praying together early Friday morning along the river in the woods. We were calling out each sister's name before the Lord who would be attending the retreat, and a flock of mallards came in and landed along the river. I heard the rustle of the wind and their flying and I peeked to see it just in time as they put down their landing gear. :) I had to yell "Delight, delight!" Those beautiful green heads glistened in the sun and just made our prayer time that much sweeter.

God used you and the Loving Well "four statements" to mend some hearts and homes. A big praise is two "ex-wives" came together and decided to love well and stop hating for the betterment of their families. What a mighty move of God we experienced.

This was a first for us to have a retreat without a live guest. IT was AWESOME, and it was also funny! I would say, "Now let's see if our "speaker" is ready." I would pause the DVD and you would be on the big screen standing there as if you were just waiting and ready to start! We would introduce you at each session like you were really there. AND YOU WERE REALLY THERE.

Oh Beth - do you know how much we love you? It is just palpable!!!

In the Hollow of HIS Hand,
Jan

Dear Beth,

I hope you don't mind but I thought these two quotes just fit so well with your post...

Gratitude is something of which none of us can give too much.
For on the smiles, the thanks we give, our little gestures of appreciation, our neighbors build their philosophy of life.

Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all the others.

PRAISE OUR GOD!! HE IS SO GOOD!!

I've been waiting to read an update on your weekend. You have been in my prayers much over the past few days. I'm so excited to hear that all went well. Thank you for letting us siestas be a part of your ministry. It is a priviledge to be a part of the movement of God.

I'd like to include a prayer request today. A wonderful young man in our church was in a tragic auto accident last week and his funeral is today. His young widow is left with 2 boys, a one year old and a three year old, and she's struggling beyond words to just carry on. Please pray for this young mom; she's a believer but death is hard and she desperately needs comfort. The kind of comfort only Jesus can bring. Thanks for praying, siestas.

Praise Him - even in the hard times because HE IS GOD.

Dearest Beth. I say that because you have no idea the encouragement you have been to me over the years. Our God has used you in a beautiful way in my life. I don't expect you to be able to respond to me personally, but I just had to let you know that your humility alone has given me more faith and belief that God can truly change me! I am so far from free. I carry anger and bitterness and judgment and for no good reason! My husband and I feel called to one day be in ministry...with the poor and hungry or abused children in this world. We have always felt like we are supposed to do something critical. But I feel like we are no where near ready for that! I feel like I can't hear God anymore and I even doubt He's there and listening! My truly brilliant husband who is a thinker and a questioner is becoming more and more post-modern in his belief system...he grew up Baptist and experienced a lot of legalism. I worry how we will teach our 3 sons (Eliot (5), Emerson (2), Abraham (5 months)) how to serve and love God passionately (which we've always wanted to do) when we are so confused! I have often wished I could call you up to ask for advice on so many things, I just had to take the chance and write to you! You are, by the grace of God, an inspiration to me!

God called me back from an idol over the last several days. And, yes, it is a lot less painful to cooperate! My Dear Sweet Amazing Wonderful Precious Hubby is preaching through 1 Samuel and yesterday we were in chapter 4, where the Philistines have taken the Ark of the Covenant and placed it next to their god, Dagon. In the morning Dagon is flat on his face before the Ark..and they resurrect him. Same thing next morning, except now his hands and head are cut off. They were starting to catch on... WHY is it that when God rescues me from an idol I resurrect it so quickly? I realize the breaking of bondage when it's occurring, and it is a painful process...why go back? I am praising Him today that He keeps knocking my idols over and saving me from myself! Beth, I'm glad the taping went well...I hope you can stay in your jammies all day!

How wonderful that God used Amanda as the beginning of your deep desire for restoration and freedom. It makes such a difference when we are no longer just fighting for ourselves but when we have these precious little ones who are watching & learning.

BTW: I wanted you to know how much Kendall means to me (and I am sure to many other Siestas as well).
Sometimes we can not understand the plans of God but in Kendall's case she has touched 10's of thousands of us. You told her story in Nashville and of course I sobbed!! Then yesterday I was walking & hashing it out with God b/c I am under attack.
Yet I remembered Kendall's words of "thank you" to the nurses as she received her chemo.
A drug that causes such pain and discomfort was something she was so thankful for b/c it was making her better.
It made me realize that my pain and tribulation was something to be thankful for b/c it is making me better and stronger.

Thank you for sharing Kendall with us - she has spoken volumes with her Faith, Hope, and Love!!!

We love you and your family!!
God bless,
Kim

Praise god for the many way he has blessed you. That is so totally awesome. Thank you for being so honest. Hearing that someone who has a wonderful marriage talk about the struggles they have had in the past and the sometimes not so perfect moments of this present time is so encouraging. I have a great marriage, but I use to think that we had just a good marriage. Until I read one of your previous post way back at the begining of this year about marriage and how you were struggling with your own attitude that day because your husband had said something. Away it was that day that I realized that I did have a great marriage and just because things don't go along perfectly all the time did not mean that we did not. You have no idea how much I appreciate this blog. It is like having the mentor I need and so desire. I live in a small town and am a pastors wife. I have desired for so long to gain so godly wisdom from someone who has been married longer than I have and is walking close with the Lord. today is our 19th anniversary and our first few years were rather rocky at times, but god has grow this girl up a lot along with our marriage. He is answering my long ago prayer to have an awesome marriage. thanks for being obedient to Him and ministering to each of us.

This IS a good time to remember all that the LORD has done! I will post my message as a "Thank You" to our sweet Lord Jesus. For saving me from such misery and bondage to so many things. For bringing me into the stronghold of his dear heart and allowing me to live there. For 4 beautiful daughters and for making their teenage years absolutely precious and full of joy. For a dear husband of 26 years - boy have we been through alot! My only verse for such a beautiful marriage out of so much struggle is from Psalm 91:4 HIS faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
For dear sisters in Christ, for a church body to call home, and most of all... for Jesus - My dear sweet savior. Mmm...Mmmm...MMmmm!!!

Oh Beth, what a loving God we serve. It is so good when he brings people into our lives that show us His love....your sweet baby...your staff...us siestas. You are one of those people to me. "Believing God" was an answered prayer for me. It is now, three of your studies, 2 LPL's, and 1 simulcast later, and I love Jesus more than I thought I could, when I first believed 30 years ago. Yes, you are precious and incredibly important to me, but it's all about Jesus. You are ALWAYS reminding us of that. I heard....I hear. I AM staying in the Word. You encourage me, you root for me and I am forever grateful for you and your ministry. And yay for answered prayers for this past weekend. How many of us do you think were praying? He HAD to hear. I will continue to pray for your family member.

Is there such a thing as a spiritual epidural, so we can gnisko the deep things of God without having to feel the pain rip us nearly in half?

No?

I didn't think so.

*Sigh*

But just like in childbirth, I think the end results are worth the agony a thousand times over. I'm so thankful our God is faithful to take our pain and use it to make something break-taking.

That is my God!

I'm so overwhelmed with a TON of emotions right now with all I have going on in my life. Thanks for the gentle reminder that there are TONS of things in my life to be grateful for. And, in the midst of my trials I need to remember.... remember how God has always brought me out on top no matter the circumstance. I really needed this today. To remember all the wonderful blessings God has poured out on my life. Thank you!

Mrs. Moore,

What sweet words you speak of Amanda. She is an amazing woman and was an amazing girl to grow up with. You speak to my sould when you talk about not being married long enough and things not being perfect when that precious bundle, ray of light was placed in your life. The lord certainly does work in mysterious ways!

Isn't it awesome how we can see the growth of our lives as we can look back and see how incredibly young and naive we were? I used to think that my life would have been so much easier had I married the "perfect" man - you know, be a pastor's wife, a missionary's wife, etc. (yeah, right.. :) ) But, now I look back and see that it was in the heavy, heavy heartbreaking trials and upsets for such a long string of time that tempered me to be a compassionate person, a person who now UNDERSTANDS the heartaches that so many millions of families go through. If I had had it easy with the "perfect" man, I would probably be judgmental, unsympathetic, and a holier-than-thou - what kind of Christianity would THAT be?? I studied gardening for a time and the word picture that kept coming in my mind is that of compost. When you have "garbage" in your life - be it self-inflicted or otherwise, you can either mistreat it and it just becomes as rottenness, or you can let time and God turn that heap of smelly trash into the most fertile, beautiful, valuable stuff to allow a lush, gorgeous harvest with fruit to spare! Oh, it would look pretty ugly at first, with its flies and maggots bothering it and then worms working their way through it. It might get smellier before it gets cleaner. But it has to do its work. Without that compost, I would be a dry, unfertile place with a smugness that I didn't get dirty. At least, that's how I see my life as it "could have been." So, praise be to the Great Almighty God, my Father, who saw to it that I had some deep burdens to bear that was raw material for something great to the glory of God the Father. It's pretty evident that you, Beth, have a lush garden of beauties to offer to the Master Gardener because He is patient with us and keeps working on our soil. God Bless in every way!
Warmly,
Marianne

..and we are grateful for you, for that "something not even as big as a good bass", for the second little catch and one of your biggest catches-Keith! You're all an inspiration to those of us who receive God's Word through your studies and encouragement. You've experienced the same labor pains we've experienced, the same colds we've had, other pains in life and your eyes are still on our Lord! I've read it before on this blog, but it is so true--you're so "real" and I love the fact you are who you say you are. I believe that's why you have such a tremendous group of ladies that love and pray for you and your ministry.

My prayers will remain with you and all the Ladies at LPM. It's wonderful to be able to "chat" with women that share our same faith and family values. We see so much negative around us and to be able to come here or open one of your books, we can feel that there is still an incredible amount of good in this world. Thank you for helping us stay focused.

I am willing to bet you had a great weekend with your "little dude" and his Mom & Dad.

Blessings, health and happiness to all of you in the Moore home and LPM.

My dear Beth,
Sitting in the Lord's presence with you on Friday evening and Saturday were truly some of the best moments in my recent months. I was so blessed by your teachings and received much encouragement and affirmation about where we are on this journey. I didn't get the chance to talk with you in detail but, I want you to know through the Lord, I feel we had a strong connection. I praise the Lord for you and your obedience to share your intimate experiences with HIM so openly. I know that God has enriched my life with your teaching and as a wise woman once said~~~ satan never meant for it to go this far! Thank you for being YOU and congratulations on another anointed taping of your series. I KNOW it's bringing people closer to the God we know and LOVE!

I am so thankful for your post and the blog in general. I provides me with some mentoring and encouragement I have been deeply longing for. Thanks for taking the time to reveal your heart to us. Happy Birthday, Amanda ! =)

Beth, I am so glad that your tapings went so well for you. I hope your time spent with AJ, Curtis, and baby Jackson went just as well.

And, yes, even through all my struggles, I still know He is an AWESOME God, as no matter how "big" my struggles seem to get, He has been here for me, and is such a wonderful "comforter" and shows me His love to me so well through His Holy Spirit. I am so grateful for my sweet Lord and Savior, Jesus !!!

And, although my parents are not in the greatest of health, [Dad having an aggressive form of Leukemia, and Mom having Pulmonary Fibrosis - lung disease], He has allowed them to stay with me on Planet Earth for the time being, and my 3 older sisters, nieces and nephews, are so sweet, too.

And, although my doctors and I still have no idea what has been causing this unusual muscle weakness, nor this crazy Tic Disorder [involuntary movement disorder], I DO KNOW that my GOD DOES KNOW what is going on, and will continue to "take care of me" through it all, and has been
"hanging in there with me", even though I tend to "whine" to Him about it a lot]... But, Beth has on numerous occasions told us that "whining and crying out to God" is allowed, as even King David did so, praise God, He loves us so !

And, lastly, I struggle with believing this sometimes, but I know that my God has a plan for my life, one that is meant for good and not for evil, to give me a future and a hope... Oh, Lord, please forgive me, and help me overcome my un-belief ! And, please give me the patience to endure these struggles. In Jesus' name, Amen.

In Christ's Love,

Jennifer O.

I was there, at the Life Today taping, this past weekend. And I am still letting it all "soak in." After a difficult year, I was so very spiritually dry and needed to be immersed in God's Word in the worst way. Thank you, Beth, for your obedience to His call on your life. The presence of God's Holy Spirit was palpable. You truly pour yourself out for others to drink up and I, for one, can say that my cup runneth over again!
Bless you, Beth (and a big Happy Birthday to you Amanda!)

I too gave birth to a precious baby girl 9 mo and 3 wks after I was married. She's almost 7 mo. old and oh how she's changed our lives. She's perfect, in every way...and I long for the God of the universe to do a work in her as He's never done before. I know I must allow Him to overcome those "crippling" sins in my life I've struggled with for years, decades really, so I can fully enjoy her and she can fully see God's restoration, healing, and forgiveness at work in our family. Thank you for consistently reminding me He will overcome those things in me I'm willing to surrender to Him. There is hope...joy cometh!

Hi Beth! I hope you are feeling better by now. You should try my ginger tea recipe (I have it on my blog for the recipe). It may help you with whatever may still be ailing you or if you get sick again. Just don't sweeten it with sugar, honey or milk.

And thank you so much for sharing a little part of your life story.

Tomorrow my new bible study class (only seven of us women) will meet at my house for our final installment of your series on "When Godly People Do UnGodly Things" followed by a luncheon afterwards. I'm done with the preparations I need to make for the meal. It's not even Friday yet, and I'm already pooped out. I feel like I'm running around like a chicken with it's head cut off. And this weekend the ladies in my church will be getting together for the Living Well Retreat. I can't make it :( I want to go, but my only daughter (age 7 3/4) has a soccer game on Saturday and she doesn't want me to miss it. The sacrifices some of us make for our children is amazing.

And just yesterday at church a little girl (about 9 or 10) was baptized in front of the whole congregation. Her parents were brought up near the pulpit and witnessed her making the most important decision of her life. Out of the blue I got teary eyed and felt God was there watching her and everyone else in the sanctuary as she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Hallelujah! And Amen! I look forward to the day that my daughter, Savannah will accept Jesus in her life. And just yesterday (forgive me for my ramblings) I was reading through her journal and it asked the question of Who is your favorite singer/band: And the answer was this.. THE CHURCH PEOPLE. Bless her little heart! Have a blessed week!

God has again used you to change my life though your teaching. The letter also spoke of my sister who I wanted to come closer to God. Dear Siestas who are trying to conceive - as I read your posts, I was flooded with tears and began to pray for you all that the Father would open your wombs and give you the children that you so long for . . . your hearts were evident, even on a written page and this Siesta can not imagine what you are going through, but I do understand longing. Please Abba, pour out on these dear sisters . . .

And for those who are in the midst of terrible crisis times - cancer, family members who have died, the young recent widow - Father, Your Balm of Gilead is needed in these lives - strengthen Your daughters, surround them with those who can lift them up and we ask for total and complete healing of all cancer and disease in Jesus' Wonderful and Hope-filled Name.

When I had my son David, almost 6 years ago, I was in a similar state. My life had turned upside down, and I was lost. Literally. I did not begin my life with Christ until after David was born. I had an emergency c-section and wasn't really aware of what was going on until the next day. (that night I was horrified that I'd had TWO babies, but later realized that was just the morphine talking) When I held him I knew he had changed my life. I'd been denying abuse that had happened all through my pregnancy. I'd denied lots of things. But holding him changed everything. I believe in my heart that having and holding my precious boy saved my life. I so strongly believe that God gave me this child to save me and a few months later I gave my life to Him. I have never looked back. My life completely changed after having David. He is a miracle. I was never supposed to have children, and yet I did. I have two of most amazing children. Had I not had David and realized how much better my life could be, I'm not sure where I would be right now. Probably still digging trying to get myself out of that awful pit I'd fallen into. I will always thank God for my 2 sweet boys, but sometimes, just sometimes :), I send up an extra special thank you for my first born. David changed my life, and God saved it. It was the beginning of an amazing roller coaster ride called life with Jesus. And I never want to get off! :)

Oh, Miss Beth - you and the words God puts on your heart are ALWAYS such a blessing!! I know you must have blessed a LOT of Siestas with this word, but can I just tell ya how VERY much I needed it! After being up all night with a new baby - who fell asleep as the three year old was waking up! - I neede a swift kick in the reminder that I am so very blessed!!! After reading so many heartbreaking blogs of my Siestas and their battles and losses, I am truly humbled. I know the loss you are feeling.
I lost my "fertility" at 32 - I was still single and wanted nothing more in life than to be a wife and mom. After two years of pain and health issues I went in for a partial hysterectomy, which turned into a full one because of unforeseen issues. Three surgeries had never found the masses, cysts and "stuff" that the last surgery found and removed ... the stuff that would have cost me my life if my Sweet Lord had not strengthened me into letting go of my will and clinging on to HIS!
Oh how I grieved the child I would never have ... then when I fell in love with my wonderful husband, I grieved the child that WE would never have. But God led us into Foster care and adoption and now we have two BEAUTIFUL girls that are the very vision of God's love for me. They are not of my womb, but they are COMPLETELY of my heart and I could not have asked for more ... God knew.
God ALWAYS knows!!!!

I've believed that my 4 children were evidence of God's blessing on my life. As the two older boys (21 and 19) have left home and entered the ways of the world, I've felt that I tarnished those blessings. Why would they go so far from Him if I had done all that I should? Your words remind me that It isn't about ME and always, a life with Him is a life worth fighting for, believing in, hanging on to... Thank you so much.

Dear Beth,
It is so good to know that you are feeling better and had a glorious time in the Lord at your taping this weekend. I am also a mother that is truly grateful for all that God has done and given me in my life. If you take a look at my blog you will see my two sons oldest turned 23 in Sept and my youngest is now 20. Time passes so quickly. God has also blessed me with two other children in my life through a friend and we found out this past week (Tuesday) that Cortney (I call her my adopted daughter) is having her first baby. We are so excited and I feel truly blessed to be able to be apart of this young ladies life.
Oh yeah I really like the pictures of the cake you baked for Amanda. I am sure that one will go down in the Moore Family history. LOL.
Lots of love and prayers still going out to you and your family.

Hi Beth,

I did not realize you posted this until just now....I am so grateful your taping at "Life Today" went so well. I sure prayed for you!

My mom always said "who needs friends when you have daughters" and I am sure you can relate to that one having two wonderful daughters of your own. I can't wait to meet Amanda one day, she is absoultely beautiful!! Both inside and out!!!!! You've done well!! I give you HIGH PRAISE!!

Life Today is and has for years been very special to me, I don't think I have ever witnessed two more sincere individuals who honestly love Jesus with all their heart and love people the same way, as James and Betty. I can't wait to hug them and tell them what a difference their broadcast has meant to me over the years...boy the "reunion" in heaven sure will be worth the wait!!! Then of course I'll get to see my precious mamma again and love on her for all eternity, now that's something to look forward to!! I am missing her so very much.

Speaking of "Life Today", on this past Wednesday program you talked about your neighbor who recently passed away from cancer (she was, I think about 30?) and how you were asked by her husband to come over the morning she went to meet her Savior. You anointed her with your anointing oils and prayed over her, etc. You shared what a sacred moment that was for you that you will never forget....I want you to know I totally "GOT IT", as this is what I got to do for my precious mother the night she went home to be with Jesus and it is and always will remain something so divine and sacred and etched in my heart forever. Just a "God Awe" kind of experience I could never explain, but I think from this past week's broadcast, you can completely understand what I mean.

The timing of that particular segment on Life Today was another well orchestrated event by God the Father....He continues to show Himself to me in HUGE ways in the midst of my grief. I love HIM so much it just makes me bawl. The way HE continues to comfort me through this time is so beautiful, sometimes I don't even feel worthy to have this kind of care lavished on me.

Anyways, I didn't mean to blog a whole book....I really just wanted to share that and to say thank you once again for ministering to my heart at a time when I really needed it.

You are soooooo....SPECIAL!!!

I love you,
Angela

Thank you for the reminder that my life is also worth fighting for. I am praying that JESUS will lift my head. Am fighting the battle of cancer - newly diagnosed - surgery upcoming - frightened of the future - don't want to leave my family - so many fears, feelings, but your last sentence - reminding me that my life is worth fighting for - I needed that word.

Hi!! I'm new to blogging. I have been doing Beth's bible studies for years. Through them I have become a changed woman, I have been delivered recently from a slue of "issues"by our heavenly father. Every bible study I did (mostly Beths'), I said, " Oh, I know this is the one that will make me better, and make me who I really need to be for Christ"!!:-) It didn't happen that easily though. I am so thankful for all that I have learned from them, God speaking through Beth to reach out to the world with the truth and to be able to do it in such a healing, caring, loving way is exactly what I needed in order to get me ready to be able to recieve what I had been begging for from God for so many years. Does that make any sense? Beth, thank you ,thank you , thank you for being obedient to what HE wants you to do and for sharing it with us over and over again.
We are Praying for you always.
So glad that the tapings went well.
Although Im a big fan, this is the first that Ive seen Amanda and Melissa's pic's and let me tell you ( like you don't already know this) they are so beautiful!!! Just like their mommy:-) Have a blessed week, please keep us in prayer as we pray about taking a HUGE step of faith by moving to Tx to help start a church. This is not characteristic of us and we are in need of wisdom and direction from the Lord.
Your sister in Christ,
Christina

So glad you had a great weekend. What a blessing that you were healthy, taped your shows, met some Siestas and got to spend time with your family!

I was blessed with a great big bundle of joy almost twelve years ago...my heart swelled with love as I became a mommy. She was supposed to be Elizabeth Jordan but when they brought her to me, I realized she was Hannah Elizabeth. We didn't think we would be able to have children and we are thankful that God has entrusted her to our care.
Yes...amen too...a live worth fighting for no matter what the enemy might say or do to convince you otherwise!!!

As the tears flow from my eyes, I can only utter Amen.

God is so good. A life worth fighting for indeed, thank God the Lord redeemed it so many years ago that I would be resting in His glorious presence as I sit and type on my laptop tonight.

For those of you who are willing, please pray for me. I know God has called me to a destiny that includes writing Christian/Inspirational fiction (and a good editor if you have read any of my former posts) HA! But anyway, you dear sweet ladies, I am writing a particularly difficult portion of my first novel - I'm about halfway through it and there is tragedy before triumph in the mix. Please pray that God will direct my path and take me to a place of renewal. The journey is so difficult because my characters take on such life in my imagination - tragedy visited on any one is like experiencing the pain myself. I cannot believe I am actually doing this... Pray also for the rest of the writing process - for what comes next!

Beth, AJ and the rest - Thank you so much for sharing your life with us and giving us a place to share our lives with you!

I am humbled by the experience.

Love ya' all,
Michelle

Side note on the other post, Pawpaw looks so happy watching his grandson admire his wife- what a picture! We'll keep you all in prayer. Love in Jesus, Kim in PA

Gratitude is flowing over here too! Thank you Beth!! Our small group just watched the Session 5 video of Believing God. I cried so much during that video. The Holy Spirit was SOO strong. I felt a little foolish in my tears, I was crying at things that do not provoke tears (unless the Holy Spirit is up to something, that is). I thank God when I think of you. You are a vessel God has used time and again to turn lights on in my heart and mind.

I Believe God!

Reading your story about 28 years ago was kind of strange because I felt like you were telling my story. My world changed with a precious daughter 23 years ago, Sept 13, born in the very middle of the night. I had only been married 5 months and it was not going very well for us either. I couldn't stop crying when I looked at her because it was my first realization of God's grace, that He truly forgives and brings blessing in spite of what I'd done. Now 23 years later, our daughter is becoming an amazing and Godly young women. She is extremely intelligent, musically gifted and has decided to use all of it as an elementary music teacher because she wants to make an impact for Jesus through music and children. She says she feels like she is doing what she was born to do and is perfectly content. I continue to give thanks and glory to God for gifting our family with this special child and I'm so happy that she's my dear friend as well as daughter.

God IS good! ...Being a mom is a special gift. I became a mom 8 months ago yesterday. Your beautiful words brought tears to my eyes and filled my heart with all of those feelings of my first moments with my sweet daughter too! What a little miracle and one of the most defining moments in my life - and one when I felt the Lord's arms totally wrapped around me! Thank you for your touching thoughts!

Oh Beth! It was my baby girl that allowed me to see what God planned me to be also! I still cannot look at myself and comprehend how such purity came from this body, but it could not have outside the hand of God. He is AMAZINGLY good!

I was one of those blessed to be in the studio Friday night and Saturday. The Spirit of God filled that place and I got my word! TURN THE MUSIC UP!! DON'T REHEARSE DISASTER! CEASE REHEARSING COMPLAINT AND START PRAISING!! Every lesson had a word just for me! And, oh yes, our group of four got our picture made with Beth! We love how you love Jesus, Beth. It is contagious!

Beth - I so appreciate your sensitivity to the issues we women face. I know many who face being unable to bear children and your encouraging word at the end of this blog was so insightful and encouraging. THanks for all you do but most of all for loving HIM so and inspiring us to do the same!!!!

Beth, I am so thankful God answered our prayers on your behalf. We left for Mexico just after the request was posted.

I have a prayer request for you and all the Siestas. Our son Nathan is battling some sort of infection. He is away at college. Thursday he went to the infirmary and was given some antibiotics. This morning he called and said he doesn't know if he is getting better or not. At this moment, his is sitting in the ER, on the other side of the state in Fayetteville, waiting to see the doctor. Our prayer is that the meds are working and he is getting better. Please pray that God would give the doctors wisdom as they examine him and that they would know the best course of action. We are waiting to hear what the doctor says before we make any decisions this afternoon.

I understand the blog is not really for prayer requests. If you can't post this that's okay. We were just hoping for others to join us in prayer for Nathan.

Blessings
Mary
