A Greeting and a Song

Good Monday morning, my dear Siestas!

Thank you for praying for all of us at Living Proof Live in Stockton, California! God gave us a fresh revelation of His Son this weekend (out of Revelation, as a matter of fact) and what more could we possibly ask except for the courage to act on it? For any of you who were there, thank you so much for allowing us the privilege of being your servants. I've thought about you constantly since I got home. I loved seeing the myriad of you at In-n-Out. I wouldn't leave California without an In-n-Out cheeseburger if my life depended on it.

There are certain songs I play and sing when I'm especially aware of Christ as the ultimate, uncontested love of my life OR if I'm especially in need of remembering. This is one of them. I have no idea how many times I've played it and Mark Schultz has no idea how many times I've sung back up for him. Not that he'd want to hire me and take me on the road or anything. But if he did, I'd walk one thousand miles, one thousand miles it's true, if he were heading straight to Jesus.

I would walk 1,000 miles
1,000 miles it's true
I would walk 1,000 miles
Just to be with You

[Chorus]
'Cause you've got my heart and you've got my soul
You've got this promise too
I would walk 1,000 miles
Just to be with You

If I could live 100 years
Before my life is through
If I could live 100 years
I'd spend them loving You

[Chorus]
Cause You've got my heart and you've got my soul
You've got this promise too
If I could live 100 years
I'd spend them loving You

If I could write 10,000 songs
10,000 songs it's true
If I Could write 10,000 songs
I'd Sing them all for you

[Chorus]
'Cause you've got my heart and you've got my soul
You've got this promise too
If I could write 10,000 songs
I'd Sing them all for you

(Mark Schultz, 1000 Miles)

SO, Siestas, what song reminds you personally that Jesus is the love of your life? I wish we had room for all the lyrics but here's what I'll request instead: the name of the song, the artist and the one line that especially gets to you.

Let's build each other up in the Spirit this Monday morning. Jesus is so worthy.

I love you, Siestas!

Beth you've brought tears to my eyes this Monday afternoon (UK time). I have been away from from God for some time with depression building that wall between us. I don't know why but I feel 1,000 miles from Him and need to get back. One step at a time, I know, but learning which step to take will be the hardest. God bless.

One of my favorite songs is "Praise You in the Storm" by Casting Crowns. The title itself is my favorite line as it is a reminder that it is a choice to praise God, not a feeling. God has blessed me so much through my trials. He really does deserve the praise!

Right now the song that speaks to me is sung by Phillips,Craig and Dean. It is called "A Revelation Song", but the line that I love is,"With all creation I sing, Praise to the King of Kings, You are my everything, and I will adore You."
I love cranking up the music when I am home alone. It makes housecleaning bearable.
On a different note, I was jazzed this morning doing Day 1 of week 2 of the MM&L study and the Scripture she had was 2 Timothy 1:7. I just watched you teach on that last week on Life Today. I love when God blends things together like that!
Have an Awesome Monday, Siestas!

What a wonderful idea. Trying to narrow it done to just one is tough because there are just so many!

I'd have to go with Gateway Worship, Revelation Song, specifically the refrain. So powerful and a wonderful testimony to the One we worship.

Holy, Holy, Holy

Who was, and is, and is to come,
With all creation I sing:
Praise to the King of Kings!
You are my everything,

Good Morning Bethie!

I was in Stockton this weekend and I have to say that the message was just what I needed!(loved seeing you too). Being single and not wanting to be, I have to say that my initial reaction to the message topic: From Bridezilla to Bride was not too appealing to me at first! Little bitter root there...but God, in His tenderness and enormous love spoke right to me. I'll write you a letter to tell you more (otherwise I'll go on an on here!)

Ok my song: I love all music but right now my favorite to sing along to is Resurrection Song by Phillips, Craig, and Dean (or Travis Cottrell!).
The line I like the most is "With all creation I sing praise to the king of kings, you are my everything, and I will adore you."

Happy Monday to you!

Music is huge to me and there are many, but I love "Knees to the Earth" by Watermark.

The line - "Beautiful Jesus, How may I bless your heart?" - is such a great reminder to me of not asking God to do something for me, but for me to ask what I can do for You?! Here I am Lord, what can I do today to bless You.

Beth-
So many to choose from. I love to sing worship songs! I sing all day long. I think my fav at this time in my life is "Above All" sung by Lenny LaBlank

"Above all powers, above all kings
Above all nature and all created things
Above all wisdom and all the ways of man
You were here before the world began

Above all kingdoms, above all thrones
Above all wonders the world has ever known
Above all wealth and treasures of the earth
There's no way to measure what you're worth.

Chorus:
Crucified
Laid behind the stone
You lived to die
Rejected and alone
Like a rose
Trampled on the ground
You took the fall
And thought of me
Above all..."
Repeat verse and then chorus.
Since at this time I seem to be struggling to truly grasp that Jesus loves me for me, it is the chorus that speaks to my heart.

The song that most gets me stirred with love for Jesus right now is "Behold he comes" and my favorite part is the chorus: "Behold he comes
Riding on the clouds
Shining like the sun
At the trumpet's call
So lift your voice
It's the year of Jubilee
For out of Zion's Hill salvation comes" I also like the ending lines" "There's no God like Jehovah".

"Jesus Loves Me This I Know."
My family was in a car accident in the snow when I was a little girl. Everyone was okay, but it was frightening. My family was in the emergency room, and I was sitting in the parking lot with a neighbor. I was shaken up and crying. He said when he was afraid, he always sang his favorite song in time to the windshield wipers. He turned on the wipers and started singing "Jesus Loves Me This I Know" as the windshield swept the snowflakes away. My fear was swept away, too, as I joined in - a comforting memory of long ago.

Thanks so much for coming to Stockton, Beth!! I was there and I was so filled with the love of God--Two days later and I'm still on a "high" from listening to God's word!
My favorite lyrics right now (and one that I kept singing to myself ALL. THE. TIME.) is from FRANCESCA BATTISTELLI's song "Free to be me"

"cause i got a couple dents in my fender
Got a couple rips in my jeans
Try to fit the pieces together
But perfection is my enemy
On my own i'm so clumsy
But on Your shoulders i can see
I'm free to be me"

I know that I am not perfect--FAR from it--but God loves me just the way I am with all my imperfections, flaws, insecurities--

God bless!!

I am still dancing and rejoicing after spending a glorious weekend with Beth in Stockton. I live about an hour away in a town called Rancho Murieta east of Sacramento. Beth did bring a new revelation to us here in California. She gave us a 7 step makeover and showed us how we can turn our bridezilla's into a strong, pure, spotless brides while we prepare and wait for our Bridegroom. I can hardly wait!! Thank you Beth for coming to Stockton and for bringing a fresh perspective of Rev 19. Travis led us in a song I have never heard before, We Will Dance. Our group has been humming and trying to piece the words together so we could find this song. We found it, and I would say this is my theme song while I wait for the coming of my Lord of Lords King of Kings.

Sing a song of celebration
Lift up a shout of praise
For the Bridegroom will come
The glorious One
And oh, we will look on His face
We’ll go to a much better place

Dance with all your might
Lift up your hands and clap for joy
The time’s drawing near
When He will appear
And oh, we will stand by His side
A strong, pure, spotless bride

We will dance on the streets that are golden
The glorious bride and the great Son of man
From every tongue and tribe and nation
Will join in the song of the Lamb

Sing aloud for the time of rejoicing is near
(Sing aloud for the time of rejoicing is near)
The risen King, our groom, is soon to appear
(The risen King, our groom, is soon to appear)
The wedding feast to come is now near at hand
(The wedding feast to come is now near at hand)
Lift up your voice, proclaim the coming Lamb
(Lift up your voice, proclaim the coming Lamb)

"Jesus Saves"
Travis Cottrell

"Freedom’s calling;
chains are falling.
Hope is dawning, bright and true.
Day is breaking; night is quaking.
God is making all things new.
Jesus saves."

I love this song. Doesn't matter that it is a Christmas song. I typed out the lyrics after purchasing it from iTunes. But best of all, I am from the era of when one played a "45" over and over on the record player. And I do the same on the CD player. But I wore out that one track. So I made a playlist repeating "Jesus Saves" seventeen times, then burned to a CD. I left it in the CD player in the car...and my husband turned it on. He liked the song the first time, couldn't quite figure out why it played the second time, knew his wife was involved in the repetition by the third time. And being a good sport, listened to it all 17 times! Then later told me that he loves that I love Jesus.

Words and Music by Keith Getty & Stuart Townend

I just can't make it through this song without bawling at God's mercy and grace and power an love for ME! The last verse gets me out of my "crying puddle" and back on my feet . . .

No guilt in life, no fear in death—
This is the pow'r of Christ in me;
From life's first cry to final breath,
Jesus commands my destiny.
No pow'r of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home—
Here in the pow'r of Christ I'll stand.
Standing together,

My deepest stains now clean.
Your breath fills up my lungs.

I love this because I know I would be so dead without Christ's sacrifice for me. It's only because of Christ I have breath and am free!

I hope somebody makes an Itunes playlist with these songs! I'd download it!

When my soul needs to sing to Jesus I reach for Amy Grant. What can I say, her voice just takes me where I need to go. No commentary here about anything but her music :)

The song I like best is El Shaddai - which I know technically doesn't translate to Jesus. But we're talking about the spirit of the law here, right?! The line that gets me is "Your most awesome work was done through the frailty of Your Son." Ooofta. Gets me every stinkin' time.

Ever since you had Travis play this on one of your teaching DVDs....."God Blessed the Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts:

"Every long lost dream led me to where You are,
Every broken heart, they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into Your loving arms;
This much I know is true: That God blessed the broken roads that led me straight to You."

I was at the Stockton event! I've been telling people all weekend that there is just so much to process from it all, I don't even know where to start! Thank you for coming. It was refreshing. I didnt want it to end. I am trying to get a letter together to send in =)

As for a song, I love worship music, and I have no idea the name or the title but we sang it yesterday:

"When I think about the Lord, how He saved me, how He raised me, how He filled me with the Holy Ghost, how He healed me to the uttermost...makes me want to shout Hallelujah, thank you Jesus!"

When we sang Hallelujah yesterday, I thought of it in such a different light after hearing how you explained it from Revelation.

Something about music-maybe because it is eternal--
Mine is "Praise You in the Storm" by Casting Crowns and THE line that absolutely slays me:

"I barely hear You whisper through the rain, "I'm with you" and as Your mercy falls, I raise my hands and praise the God who gives and takes away."

He loves us so. ~Annette

The song that seems to mean the most to me is "Above all" by Michael W. Smith. I saw him perfom it at Creation Fest many years ago and there is something to be said for worshipping God with that many believers at the same time. I love the song because it reminds me that when He was nailed to the Cross it was me, above all else, that He was thinking about.

And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing;
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.

--How Great Thou Art

The words to this old hymn are so sweet and descriptive but I'll choose this line as the one that makes my throat tight every time! Love you, too, Beth!
