Missed You a Ton!
Good Grief! I have missed you Siestas a ton! Thank you so much, AJ, for keeping us so well connected. That's why it's a dang good thing she and I did this thing together. Make no mistake, she is the hub of this wheel. You know by now that we had a nasty bug overtake our household and Keith, Melissa, and I all three (in reverse order) were as sick as (not cute but gnarly) dogs. Thank goodness, it came toward the end of our time with Jackson so it didn't impair his time with us nor our time with him. We had the week of our absolute lives. He is the most precious little guy in our world and at the cutest age we've experienced yet. He is the happiest, most demonstrative (gets it from his Paw Paw, I suppose) little thing you've ever seen and moves at brake-neck speed at all waking hours. We praise God and shake our heads in wonder that the little dude never got the stomach bug after being completely surrounded by it. We would have been heartsick to see him take it. It was the kind that makes you so sick you can't hold up your head for a day but then it kinda has after effects for the next week. Keith was the last one to take it (on Father's Day!) and he still doesn't feel normal. In the midst of it, however, I had a fabulous birthday and I am so grateful for all the greetings and blessings from my beloved Siestas.
My LPM staff went so over the top for the celebration on Monday (closed the office all day) that I'd be embarrassed about it if I hadn't had such a blast. They spoke every love language a set of girlfriends can speak and we laughed our heads off from start to finish. I got such darling gifts! A new purse, some new earrings, a necklace set, a cross wall hanging, a wooden birdhouse made like a daisy with PINK petals. SO CUTE! A nearly lifetime bag of birdseed, a darling dessert tray, a photo album for our mountain cabin, and, lo and behold, four of them went together on a FOUNTAIN FOR MY GARDEN/BACKYARD!!! And what great presentations! I was nearly buried alive in pink and purple gift bag tissue! I had to keep coming up for air. We usually have fun with (all of our) birthdays at LPM but this one was totally out of the ball park and I have lovingly chided them that we're not going that out of control on this woman's birthday again. I just want the same kind of celebrations we have for each of them. I love them so much.
The LPM Board of Directors also gave me a gift certificate (not outlandish, of course, but plenty enough to be a blast!) and I am just about to leave my house for a tad of a shopping spree. And, no, of course, I don't really need anything. Few of us really do. These kinds of things are just pure grace. Pure-dee overflow. I'll let you know later what I got. I love you like crazy! I haven't forgotten about our event idea. It really may have been God because we are already dialoguing with LifeWay about it. We are looking at a few possibilities and I'll let you know something soon. Yahoo-Jah!!
By the way, in case any of you Cleveland girls sign on, I could NOT have had a better time in God's Word with you on Friday at WOF than I did. I am nuts about you. Of course, no doubt you think I'm nuts whether or not about you but I just want you to know that my nutty-ness is steered toward you right about now. You were a fabulous group of women and our God was so extravagant and faithful to meet with us. I have a strong feeling in my spirit that a number of women came to faith in Christ Jesus on Friday. I can't wait to find out! I'll let you know that, too, as soon as I get word. That trumps the report on my shopping spree by about ten trillion times but I won't have the report as soon.
All this and Jesus, too!!! He is the joy of my life and what joy to rejoice in Him with all of you!

I have been reading the LPM blog since the bird story :)! The stories and comments have made me laugh and encouraged my heart over and over again. Thank you Beth and Amanda for sharing your hearts with us in this way!
I have been at Bethlehem, Baltimore, Hershey, and Oklahoma city to hear His Word spoken through you, Beth. THANK YOU for loving Jesus so very much, for encouraging my faith, and for being so real!!!!! I can't wait to hear Him speak through you in Rhode Island in August!
Thanking Him for all of you -my dear Siestas,
Susan
Beth, you just brighten my day! I am so glad that you were blessed by your staff and family for your birthday half as much as you have blessed me through your studies, tapes, Deeper Still Event in S.F. (can we do THAT again????), books etc. I pray that your shopping was fun (of course it was--how couldn't it be!!)
Count me in on the blogger event--just how fun would that be!! Do you think there is a hotel big enough to contain us all??? Have a blessed day!
We love you Beth and have missed you! So glad you had a wonderful birthday!! much love

Hey Beth ~
I was reading from AW Tozer last night while working out (BLAGH! I HATE WORKING OUT!) and I read something that was so you I have to share with you. This is how I see you.
MEEK ~
"The meek man, is not a human mouse afflicted with a sense of his own inferiority. Rather, he may be in his moral life as bold as a lion and as strong as Samson; but he has stopped being fooled about himself. He knows he is as weak and helpless as God has declared him to be, but paradoxically, he knows at the same time that he is, in the sight of God, more important than angels. In himself, nothing; in God, everything. That is his motto. He knows well that the world will never see him as God sees him and he has stopped caring. He rests perfectly content to allow God to place His own values. He will be patient to wait for the day when everything will get its own price tag and real worth will come into its own. Then the righteous shall shine forth in the kingdom of their Father. His is willing to wait for that day.
In the meantime, he will have attained a place of soul rest. As he walks on in meekness he will be happy to let God defend him. The old struggle to defend himself is over. He has found the peace which meekness brings.
Then also he will get deliverance from the burden of pretense. By this I mean not hypocrisy, but the common human desire to put the best foot forward and hide from the world our real inward poverty. For sin has played many evil tricks upon us, and one has been the infusing into us of a false sense of shame." AW Tozer, The Pursuit of God.
This is how I see you, Beth. Meek! Of course as a woman, NOT a man! Just wanted to make that clear.
I'll be seeing you around noon today. Session seven in Daniel. Well, gotta go finish day five of homework in week six before my bible study today.
love you siesta,
Kristi
Beth, you are one special lady. Thank you for loving us all the way you do. I love it that you know just how to bless us with your sweet words. I really enjoy visiting this blog to see what's going on in LPM Land. :)
Hi Beth,
I sure hope this comment goes through.....I've tried twice before and it didn't so here's hoping. I just recently found this blog and I absolutely love it. I've taken quite a few of your bible studies, saw you in Boone, and since moving to Ohio, will begin one in my home this fall. I can't believe the ladies in our church have never been to a Beth Moore study!! Well, are they in for a treat and a great experience.
So glad you had a fun filled birthday. Girlfriends are the best to spend them with. For some reason now on my birthday, my 4 sisters, their daughters, daughters-in-law, aunt, and cousins congregate at my house the weekend before my birthday. We have the best time! My poor husband has to go play golf all weekend....that just breaks his heart! Right!!!! He loves golf about as much as he does me and I know that's a lot. But, I too, am bombarded with such wonderful gifts from these special women in my life.....and I love it!!
You spoke of the fountain they bought you. I just put one in our backyard. We had an old tree stump that was an eyesore so my talented husband built a 3 tiered flowerbox over it and we sat the fountain in the middle. I planted petunias all around the base of the fountain, carpet roses in the second tier, and daylillies in the third. It is so pretty! Plus, I love the sound of the running water when I'm sitting in my swing.
Again, thank you and Melissa for this wonderful site. It has truly been a pleasure getting to know you and your precious family. That grandson is a dollbaby!!
beth-i am as excited for you as i'm for my dearest friend. i pray His divine appointments are one after another 2 bless your socks off today. sounds odd but i'm praying your God sent encounters are from ones who don't have a clue who you are.
lovin life in Him-lisa
"All in" here if you find a birth for the blogging beth bloggers...
i can work (maybe I need to trust :) for a ticket anywhere...cause you give me courage...you give me direction...not only do you make me feel alive but Beth you make me want to be more alive...there's so much more...and this blog means something to me...i find myself so ambivalent these days SO FULL OF THE LIFE OF MY GOD RISING IN ME yet SO DESPERATE FOR MY GOD TO COME THROUGH---I'M IN SOME SUFFERING and I want to suffer well...never struggle free but i want to struggle & wrestle well w/my Lord...better than I am if you hear me---I beat up on myself way too much self-contempt and why? I am learning to rest in my God in this...and I need community and it sounds like a special idea! Hope it works...I'm "in"...
you are just way so cute Beth Moore!!! can't wait til heaven to enjoy all you bloggers whom Jesus loves!!!
Jesus speaking words to us through you, is like getting all the gifts you received for your birthday. And I am from California not Cleveland!! Yes, there are believers in California!!!Thanks so much!
Beth - I was in Cleveland and it was awesome. I've been a fan of yours for quite a few years now, but was my first time seeing you in person.
Thank you for speaking the truth, again, and lighting the fire in me to know the Scriptures so I can call on them at a moment's notice. Blessings to you & your family & all the LPM gals too!
A big fan in Ohio
Afternoon Beth,
What a joy to live 50 years and so many of those years in grace and reconciliation with Christ. Life is sweeter and deeper with King Jesus as our Savior.
Shop your head off and have a Starbucks just the way you like it as you skip through the mall.

We've missed you too. Glad to hear that your family is recovering from the flu.It sounds like you have an incredible birthday. You have helped changed some many women lives, that I am sure the Lord wanted to show you how grateful he is that you are so faithful and obedient in your service to Him.I can't wait to hear more about the event for all the blog Siestas, and your shopping spree, and of course how many more sisters will now have in Christ from the Cleveland event.Keep up the great work that all our family and fellow co-workers do.You guys are a blessing to us all.
It's such a blessing to pray for the team and then read a report about how awesome everything went! Our prayers aren't always quite so tangible so to get some "proof-in-the-pudding now and then, is great!
Nicole, please Child, take hold of the Master's hand. He will not fail you. He and only He knows what's best and the "why's" of all that's going on in your life.
There's a beautiful song called "He." I think it would soothe your nerves to download a copy of that song and memorize the words. It basically says, "He is in control."
I'll be praying for your biopsy results and I'm confident the other siestas will, too. And, tell the devil to take his fear and get outta your "house!"
Beth -
It was so good to hear from you. Glad to hear that the Moore household is finally starting to feel better! We really missed you while you were out of commission. I think you deserved every last bit of the birthday party. You are so into serving others and our Lord that sometimes we just deserve a little of that ourselves so girl..... go enjoy!!!! But, please report back what you got. Hmmmmm wonder if there will be any shoes in the report? :) Glad to hear that you are making "progress" with Lifeway about the get together. I have tickets for Deeper Still in Nashville in September and I CANNOT WAIT!!!! I know it will just be a blast. One more thing. I have not been able to watch you on Life Today because my cable does not get that station. However I just figured out that I can watch them on line. I was soooo excited last night. So, when I put my little jewels down for bed I watched 3 of your segments on Get Out of the Pit! they were great of course. I just love listening to you and your teachings. You will never know this side of heaven what a blessing you have been to me and so many other women. We love you dearly!
How fun! I'm so glad you had a wonderful day, you deserve to have a big bash for you b-day! You give so much to everyone else that you need a little given to you! :) Side note - when are you coming to the Dallas WOF???? I must say I'm a *tad* jealous of Cleveland... :) I'll be praying hard that God sends you to Dallas soon soon soon!!! Love you Siesta!
Hi mama Beth,
glad to be back to commenting after having to take a hiatus for 1st trimest woes! Praise God for babies but getting them here sure is tough work. Ok more about you! Happy Birthday and so glad it was just fantastic! We are so blessed by you that I'm glad you know you're loved so much. Hope shopping was a blast - much cooler inside anyway. Can't wait to hear about new believers in the Lord. Yeah Jesus! love, rachel in wichta
Hi fellow movie-lovers, hope you've checkout out "Evan Almighty". Had a blast with seeing Morgan Freeman's "God" name, Al Mighty. I'm with the commandment "Thou Shalt Dance." Thankful for you and praying good reports from WOF.
I cannot wait to see what you and Lifeway come up with! It will be so much fun and I am just praying that I can be a part of it!
Dear Beth,
So glad y'all are back in the land of the healthy. I'm delighted that you had such a joyous birthday. You are such a precious gift to so many, that I'm sure it is counted as pure joy to be able to celebrate with you and for you.
Hope you're shopping spree is a success.
One of the utah siestas,
Leslie
A friend of mine just saw you this past weekend at WOF. I'm in St. Louis, and attended WOF, but sadly, no Beth for us.. *sniffle* Is there anyway we can purchase a DVD of the sessions you are doing at WOF? I can't afford a plane ticket to go see you somewhere else..
I had a question about getting out of the pit. My "pit" is overeating and not leading an active lifestyle thus my family, myself and kingdom work suffers because I am mentally and physically unhealthy. I have never heard you say anything one way or the other about eating as a pit for you but do you have any suggestions for those of us that have that problem? My is NOT eating too little it is eating too much and now is a huge health problem for me. I feel horrible most days. I especially liked the verse Psalm 19:13 - Keep back Your servant also from willful sins; Let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless, And I shall be innocent of great transgresskion. Just an area of great struggle in my life and wondered if you might have any advice? I also wonder after watching your Life Today taping if I looking to to many other things to be my Jesus and Deliverer for this issue of my life other than Him but sometimes you just need someone with skin on. Know what I mean? :) Much love to you Siesta!
Have fun shopping!!! Glad that WOF in Cleveland went so well... I can't wait till I'm out of school and can go to conferences!
Beth, so glad that you have a great birthday and that the famly is starting to feel back to normal. I would love to see pics of your fountain and the flower bird house...it sounds totally awesome. God is so good, and truly does give the best gifts..when you think about HIM being in control of everything..HE even was in control of what presents you received! My brain is too small to take it all in, but I have a lot of fun trying. HE delights in us, and The KING is entralled by our beauty...more of those things I can not take in, but they sure do make my day! Finding you here today made my day too. My daughter,15, just came home from a week long training camp for Christian Youth in Action, and is so very much in love with Jesus..this is a summer missionary position with underpriveldge children.
haha don't think for a second that we sistas are not related in the LORD..I just told you about my daughter, like you know her! LOL
Looking forward to RI in Aug. Praying for you, Love you too!
Oh Beth...
So much to say but just not enough time or words. You deserve the best birthday ever....and you got it!! Thank you for showing us in leadership how to lead with grace, but with fun and laughter too. You inspire me always. I'm so happy that your time with Jackson was the best time of your life....i know its hard to not just wanna eat him to pieces. We love ya Beth....you are family.
Blessings to you!

Thinking of you, Beth, so much this last week. I'm so happy you were well celebrated ... God has blessed all of us so much through you. What a gift to know He blesses you right back through your siestas. :-)
I'm reading Jesus the One and Only and wallowing in it ... I GET it! I know Him that way, and it is such an incredible high. I can hardly keep it to myself and get frustrated when I can't put it into words for others I see who are oppressed and thirsting.
Even more, God is using your Life Today series on Rededication to speak volumes over my life. There are no words to describe the joy I have received over His revelation.
Perhaps the joy washing over me and the fact that Jesus has used you to wash me will be a birthday joy to you. Let's just keep celebrating all year long! :-D
Looking forward to seeing you in Nashville in September.
So very glad to hear that you feel blessed by the wonderfully extravagant love poured out on you for your birthday! And just think that God loves and gives even more than that...I think I know that because of you. So thank you Sister! Enjoy your shopping spree...may it be filled with a warm sun and a cool breeze, some good smells and of course a coffee :) AND may you know that the Lord loves you so much! You make Him grin, I know.
Love ya!
Holly
Beth, I'm so glad you have a fabulous and blessed birthday. You and your crew are such a joy to share time with (in person at conferences and on the blog). Bask in the overflow of His grace!
From reading the blog these last months I've come to decide that sweet Amanda is as cute inside as out. My boys are 4 and 7 so I'm right with her on her Jackson stories. Gotta love boys and their toys!
Grace, peace, and virtual hugs to you all!
Oh, Beth, I was thrilled to see that you are going to be in Louisville, KY in 2008! My first-born and her husband are in seminary there and it has always been my dream to take all of my girls to an LPL event...so I'm gathering her 3 younger sisters(ages 21, 18, 14) and we are all making plans to see you in KY next year! Yahoo-jah! And if it just happens to work out that is the place for the "siesta event" then, double Yahoo-jah!! Ain't God good?!
P.S. In the meantime, I'll see you at Deeper Still with some of the siestas!
So glad you had an awesome Birthday! Looks and sounds like it was tons of fun! I really hope y'all can get that conference worked out, that would be amazing! I'll certainly be praying about it...mrs.beth, you're just the coolest!
Glad you are well now and had a great birthday celebration!
I'm reading "Get Out of That Pit" right now (just finished Ch.6) and it's really blessing me and God's speaking. A close friend and I are about to start a group at our church in which we will be co-facilitating "Believing God." She is also reading GOoTP which we were unaware of until I started talking about the book and she says,"I'm reading that too!" So, we decided this is our "Beth Moore" summer. Thank you for being used of God and speaking so boldly! Though it's hard to take at times, it is one of the healing balms the Father uses for the hurts of this world.
Love you too,
Kelly
All I can say is "Thank you". It is so great to have someone like you out there who is real. You love the Lord and "girlie stuff".
I have been so encouraged by your ministry.

Oooh...a fountain. I love the way you shouted that on your post! And I would, too! I have a spa off my deck and it is simply stunning to sit in at night and look up at the stars. That should be your next treat for yourself. Isn't God just too MUCH!
And...BAD BUG...BAD, BAD BUG. Sounds like Camp Bigs became Camp Bugs! I know, that wasn't funny.
And...I have a birdhouse that looks like a large redbird sitting on a nest with two baby birds under her. Guess what I spotted today...a bluebird building it's nest in the redbird! Can you just believe that...
I just love birds, too. I'm glad you had such a wonderful birdday!
Dear Beth,
I'm glad you had such a nice birthday. Every year seems to fly by faster than the one before, doesn't it? I pray the Lord will bless you with many, many more.
Love Ya,
Kathie
Thank you so much Beth for taking thet time to share your life with us. I love seeking Jesus and loving Him with you too.
Just another "siesta" from Louisiana!
We missed you too!
I am so glad that you are feeling better and that your LPM family threw you a great birthday party! I am so sorry Keith was sick on Father's Day. I pray that nasty bug doesn't make it here. I have to tell you, every morning when I go outside for my quiet time my red bird always appears in my yard, on my fence and on the edge of the pool, when I see my red bird I think of you! The birds love to drink water from my pool, I think they are impressed with my ginormous bird bath. :o) I hope you had a fun time shopping today. I am excited about what God is putting together for us siestas!! As soon as everything is in order I am ready to buy my ticket. This is a jump up and down moment with God! God is a blast and so are you!! Have a great weekend!!
Love You,
Patty
Hi Beth,
I wanted to respond to your blog. I am one of the Cleveland girls who came to see you at WOF. I have been wanting to thank you for 3 years and was hoping to get to meet you on Friday. It was a blessing to see you live, outside of my church's TV!!!In 2003, my family was living in Columbus, OH. I had signed up for a Bible study titled "When Godly People do Ungoldly Things." {I think you've heard of it!} I didn't know if I would relate to this study because I didn't know anyone "like that," But I LOVE Beth Moore Bible studies, so I signed up. Around the same time as this study, my husband {who I have always seen as very Godly} slowly became a stranger to me and did things he has always disapproved of, leading up to him moving out of our home and into the home of another woman. We have 4 kids. He would come home every so often to visit, then leave and go back to "her" home. Let me explain something...I never saw myself as a real good "Bible thumper." I love my saviour and want to please Him, but always saw my husband as more knowledgeable and let him answer those questions new believers had. Guess what God did with your Bible study...ok, I'll tell you. He used it to allow ME to minister to my husband!!!!! I clearly remember {and my memory is BAD} reading the letter fom Had to him in our house, with tears streaming down both of our faces. I told him how I related that letter to his circumstances. God used that Bible study to equip me with what I needed to help my husband get pulled out of Satan's grasp. My husband went through a major sifting. Thank God his season was fairly short. He was out of our house for three monmths, although the grasp of Satan lasted longer. One day, soon after he returned home and he was still in Satan's grip, we planned to talk. I had no idea what to say to the man in my husband's body, so I prayed on my way over and asked God to speak to him through me. As we talked, he didn't like what he was hearing and said he would just leave. The following words came out of my mouth, but not from my head: "That is fine if you leave. But, if you do, the kids and I will move to a city by a body of water...maybe the lake or the ocean. I could not stand to be here and watch you destroy yourself." As those words came out, my head was saying "huh? What are you talking about?!!" From that conversation, healing began. No, it wasn't easy. We did move to a body of water...Lake Erie...but the whole family came. My husband has been sifted and restored. God is so wonderful. My main support system's advice was to divorce him. Instead I used words from that study to show why I needed to show him grace and mercy. I have no doubt God used your Bible study in this situation. I would probably be divorced now if not for that study. Thank you for your wonderful work, and may God bless you!
Susan
Beth, Amanda and my Siesta Sisters,
What a blessing this blog is!!! Don't y'all just agree? I'm amazed at how God works especially on the internet!
Beth, I'm glad you had a great birthday. We were all celebrating with you via cyberspace!
Amanda, I'm glad you're feeling better. . nothing worse that coming back from vacation feeling sick!
Now, as for the idea of this group meeting face-to-face, I'm still praying like crazy for it to happen!!! Of course I want to meet everyone. But as I posted before (and talked with some of you) I'm also interested in studying the communication (on-line vs. face-to-face) among the women here. I already have the chance to study it on a non-Christian site. So comparing the two would be fantastic!!!
Anyway, enough for now. I know I get a little long winded. Sorry, it's the "professor" in me. Honestly, if you meet me in "real time/space" I promise not to hog the conversation!!!
Take care all. Don't know about the rest of you, but I'm just tickled pink (and a little purple too--sorry Beth just had to go for that one) with this blog.
Your siesta in Christ,
~Cheryl
St. Louis
Remember, Beth, that I told you I was going to watch session 7 of Daniel today? Well, at the end of it you say a verse from Matt. 5. "The meek shall inherit the earth." I just thought it was amazing that I read that whole thing on meekness and how I see you as such and then at the very last of the session, this session I watched TO DAY, you mention that verse. So...you are going to inherit the earth someday. AWESOME! I love how God works.
love you,
Kristi
Maybe it was meant as an encouragement from our Father to you, His daughter
In a world where we Christians are "supposed to be" (according to some)so starched and serious...I love that there are so many on this blog who ARE NOT. Serving Jesus should be (and is) fun!
Amanda and Beth...Thank you for giving us a forum to share, laugh (and sometimes cry) together. Ya'll are awesome siestas in Christ!
TESTING-CAN NEVER FIGURE OUT WHY I'M NOT ABLE TO PUBLISH ON THE BLOG-- ANYWAY- THANKS BETH AND AMANDA FOR ALL YOU DO! SHELL
Missed you too sweet Siesta Beth!
Glad you had such a wonderful time with your adorable grandyungin. Love it when Amanda sends pictures!
Also glad you had a fab birthday.
Who wouldn't want to drown in pink and purple?(my favs also)
Can't wait to hear what you got on your shopping spree. You're right. I don't think many of us really need anything, but it sure is fun trying on new shoes, for example, which is what I did the other day.
I so hope our blogger gathering works out!
To the siesta that is going to Nasville, I will be there also. I didn't catch your e-mail but mine is brewerk@meredith.edu. I am going by myself so it would be great to meet up with some siestas!
It is so wonderful loving the Lord with you!
Prasie His Name!
Love ya!
Kristi B.
Ms. Beth, I haven't posted in forever in a day here, but I wanted to let you know that, not only have I been graciously invited to WOF next year with my neighbor and her beautiful clan, but I've just discovered that my hubby and I will be in Houston in January for a Worldwide Marriage Encounter training session. God is calling us to some glorious places, and He has left me feeling VERY convicted today, to say the least. So, I thought about... you know... stopping by LPM and, in my dreams, having enough time to volunteer, but as reality would have it, we'll be in intense workshops all weekend. So I'll have to stop by in my heart while I'm there and keep contributing what I can from here on the east coast. I'm with ya, I LOVE JESUS! He is my ALL!!!!!! Praise Him, praise Him, PRAISE HIM!!!!!
(Incidentally, I'm only signing in "anonymous" because I can't remember my Google sign-in!) - Lisa in western PA
Hey Siestas:-)
I gotta tell ya Beth, your wonderful experience at the drug store you told us about, really helped me be bold today lol:-)
I was in the middle of work today, and had to rush over there, and of course I walk in and see a thousand aisles, and go down everyone like an ant with a mission, and NOTHING!
So of course I go up to the counter and there is a guy cashier.
But I said boldly? " Sir, do you know where the tampons are?" and luckily he didn't smile or make me die of embaressment, he just told me what aisle....but OMG, it will always just be one of those things for us women that really stinks! lol
Hope Miss Amanda is feeling better.
BTW, Mandisa's new song rocks if you all havent heard it, listen for it!
Angie
How fun! Thanks for letting us in on the celebrations. You'll have to post a picture of your fountain. Can't wait to hear about the "get-together".
Love ya
Nancy
Mandisa " Only the World"
( don't know if you heard it yet)but what a theme song for all of us!
Only The World
Verse 1:
Been a hard one, Been a bad one
Been a tough one, Been a sad one
It's been one of those days that keeps chipping away at my heart
Nothing new here, It's what I do here
its a stereotypical day, in the life
I'm surrounded by all of the pain and the strife
but I know it's alright, woah oh
Chorus:
Cause it's only the world i'm living in
It's only today i've been given
There ain't no way i'm giving in
Cause it's only the world (only the world)
I know the best is still yet to come
Cause even when my days in the world are done
There's gonna be so much more than only the world for me
do do do do do do do do do, yeah its only the world
Verse 2:
Anybody can you hear me?
Do you feel me? I mean, do you feel me?
I know I'm not the only one wearing the weight in this world
We got problems (said it's alright)
Just remember (yeah, it's alright)
Take a good look around we're just stuck on the ground for a little while
Don't it make you smile
Chorus:
Cause it's only the world i'm living in (Yeah)
It's only today i've been given(Yeah)
There ain't no way i'm giving in
Cause it's only the world (only the world)
I know the best is still yet to come
Cause even when my days in the world are done
There's gonna be so much more than only the world for me
do do do do do do do do do, yeah its only the world
do do do do do do do do do, yeah its only the world

Heaven is a place where the tears on every face will be wiped away
And I can't wait to go, but for now it's enoughto know
This is only temporary this is only, Yeah, Alright!
Chorus:
Cause it's only the world i'm living in
It's only the day i've been given
There ain't no way i'm giving in
Cause it's only the world (only the world)

Can't wait to hear about your shopping spree and what stores just delighted your heart. :)
Miss Beth, Cleveland was absolutely amazing! I am so in awe of what the Lord said to me through you that I could just burst! I am now living in my 'is' and leaving I AM to deal with 'was'. My husband said he wanted me to attend and get a Word. (He has no idea you even say that!) All I can say is thank you Jesus! I got a revelation. Might you post the commissioning?
I assure you, sweet Siesta, the joy is ours!
The fact that you and your family have allowed us "in" to this degree is overwhelming and shows just how AWESOME Jesus is!! He shoves that ego out the door and says "love"! Thank you all (even that sweetums Jackson) for your willingness to follow Him wherever!
We love you and can't wait to see what you and LifeWay pull out of your hats!!
WE'RE PRAYIN!!!!!!
Dear Beth, I got the biggset blessing on Friday, in that I got to hear God speak to us through you!!! Can I share how cool God is? Iwasn't sure I could go and I had been praying. One week ago a ticket opened up, I was able to have the day off, we had the money for the ticket, the group had buses, so I didn't have to drive downtown{THANK YOU JESUS!}we got the box lunch, we got to sit 5 ROWS FROM THE PODIUM!!! I kept praising God and kept asking Him how this all happened. Travis ushered us into the Presence of God that brought tears to my eyes and goose bumps all over. I had confessed to my friend as we were waiting for the conferance to begin that I really struggle with allowing my past to affect me. And what was the word from my Alpha and Omega, The Almighty, Lord God... that's He is over my was, my is, and is to come and He can handle my huge regrets that torment me. I read my 6 pages of notes to my daughter when I got home...and showed her my diagram. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for how you allow Jesus to use you so powerfully. Thank you for being genuine and honest. We love and appreciate you so much as you prepare and instruct us to be God's powerful daughters. In Jesus' love Kathy Knoblock
Beth,
Had a blast with you Friday !! what hairspray do you use anyway??
It is incredible-and so is your teaching
I do have my priorities straight!!
I'm glad you are all feeling better and that you had such a blast on your birthday. You bring us such joy that it warms our hearts to see you having such fun and being surrounded by those who love you. And getting girlie things, too! It's always nice after a particularly tough time to have such fellowship.
Happy (very) Belated Birtday. I pray you enjoyed your shopping spree... as I'm sure you did. Isn't God good in giving us the overflow. And to think we (myself included) often complain that we don't have what we want and yet He has provided exactly what we need and so ofter more. Don't get me wrong, I do love the overflow! :) May God bless you as you serve Him in the upcoming year. <><
Beth,
I am a Cleveland Girl!!!!
I had the honor of being part of the preconference. I am a big notetaker and managed to get 5 full pages of notes from you. Boy, did I have to write fast!
We had great seats. In fact, I called my girlfriend from the arena and whispered into the cellphone, "I am so close to Beth Moore right now that I could hit her with a spitwad!"
If I knew ahead of time that I was going to be that close in proximity I would have held up a sign that said "HOLA SIESTA" in honor of our blogger buddies. Oh well...at least I wore my hair BIG for the event. My husband calls it my Beth "more hair". HA HA
Thank you for all of your studying and preparation. I gleaned so much. And thank you for loving Jesus so much that you worship Him unashamedly. I've enjoyed studying with you over videos, workbooks, blogs and online devotions. It was a great joy to worship our Lord with you in person.
You know how sometimes the sound of a person's voice can chase away the ugliest of funks? Beth, your "voice" today is just to vibrant and praise-filled I couldn't help but feel my spirits lift!
God Bless,
Bethany
We missed you too Beth! Glad you are back and feeling better. Your birtday was too much fun.
I love that you put cream and sugar in Amanda's hot tea. That's what my mother did for me. She will never do that again, she isn't expected to make it through this weekend, she wasn't exptected to make it through last week.
I ask all my sisetas to pray....there is so so much more to this.
Glad to hear you are working on something for the sisetas.
We have missed you too!! I am dying for Sept. to get here so we can start Esther...I miss our Bible Study adn the ladies that I am surrounded with. I am so glad you ahd a great b-day...nothing better than feeling totally loved by everyone around you. Glad your stomachs are back to normal..UGH- that is the worst kind of bug to get!! Have fun shopping. It is my dream to just get a glimpse of your complete wardrobe one day..I love seeing what you wear on Tuesdays... I need some tips!! :-)

Well I want to come to the Blog event. I look at it everyday, and laugh along the way,I don't have too much to say. But what a blessing you are.
Oh, Beth, I love you tons and missed you too. Glad you're back home safely!
Hi Beth-
Yes, this fellow siesta was at the WOF preconference in Cleveland, and it was awesome! My friend and I drove in from Youngstown and we had a blast. We don't get out much you see, (I have three boys under 8... Need I say more?) and our motto for the night / day was "We leave them laughing!" One example- We didn't know that in order to activate the elevator in our hotel we had to swipe our room key in this slot thing then push the desired floor. Well when the door kept opening after a few minutes and we were staring at the same group of people they laughed hysterically! Thank goodness someone felt sorry for us and explained to us how to use it; otherwise it would have been a long hike up to the 15th floor!!
I was so suprised ans excited to get a front row seat Friday. I was doubly blessed since I am blind in one eye and usually don't get a great focus at such events. I got a good look at you siesta, and you are even more adorable in person than you are in pictures!
Thank you so much for all of the time, energy, and prayer you invested in Friday. It was wonderful studying the Word with you.
Love you much, Jennifer
Glad you are healthy again and that you had such a heaping helping of birthday blessings! Love you!
Ok, I've been out of town and am loving catching up! Count me in to the "siesta camp meeting" whenever and wherever it happens. I'm so glad y'all are feeling better and that the camper and his parents didn't get it. Thanks for being His messenger to me, Beth.
Welcome back Beth. I had that silly stomach virus too. It knocked me out for several days. We started "To Live is Christ" this week and I had to laugh when I heard that Melissa was 15. 15!!!
So glad that you had a Fabulous Birthday!Much love to you and your's.
Miss
Happy belated birthday, Beth! your day sounds like it was so much fun :)
I'm turning the big 5-0 in September, and I can't wait! Every decade I live is such a gift from God.
I wanted to tell you that God is using you bigtime here in Oregon; I'm showing the "who will you trust" series in my home, and ladies are responding! Many have already identified what's "that thing" in their box, and said they are ready to be done and trust God with it. Hallelujah!!
I'd love to be part of the "blog" event, but I'm not able to travel far for health reasons. I'm so grateful to hear you and see you on CD and DVD.
There's a Starbucks in Salem, OR, and, if you are ever there, I'd be there, dressed in pink :)
God bless,
Beverly
Beth-
What a blessing you are! You are such a wonderful humble servant!! (of course they took the day off to say CHEERS to your special day!!!) :~)
That is why we love and adore you....you don't even realize how awesome you are. I know I know...you are who you are because of the POWER OF OUR LORD....but you are a WILLING servant!!
Allowing our Lord to work through you....has allowed Him to work in me! How awesome is that? I just love our Lord...
Anyway, so glad you are feeling better and I hope Keith feels better soon as well!! (Thank God that the little guy escaped it!)
Enjoy that fountain!
love,
Jen
Beth,
Hey siesta, i'm so glad to hear you had a wonderful birthday!! I was one of the many at WOF in Cleveland this past Friday. Sista you brought it to the pavement HOT DOG!!! It was awesome. You put so much energy in to it, it just blew my socks off!! I seen you this past February in Detroit for living proof live and that was awesome as well. I wrote you a few weeks before the cleveland event, i know your too busy to write people back i got a gracious letter in return from your staff though. I was hoping to get a picture with you in cleveland, but there were too many people. I just love the way God uses you to speak to thousands of women. I get something knew out of your studies every time i do them, or go see you live. You are such a gift to all of us and i just want to thank you for all you share and all the time and energy you put into your work and into others. I bought tickets yesterday for your living proof live next year in San Antonio Texas so ill see ya then....He is the one who is, the one who was, and the one who is to come!! Our Alpha and Omega!!
In Christ's Love
Gina, a huge fan in Ohio
I look forward to the sista event!!! I'm actually driving to Charlotte (from Greenville, SC) today to meet (for the first time) a sista that I met on the LPM blog several months ago. Her church is putting on a big Fourth of July program and I'll be meeting her there. I am so excited!!! We've been e-mailing each other and talking on the phone for a couple of months now. This blog has been such a "as iron sharpens iron" blessing!
Beth,
Thank you for the wonderful word of God that you spoke into my heart in Cleveland. I am simply amazed that you helped me to realize the root of my hurt and perfectionism. He IS my deliverer. I praise hte Lord that he used you to reach my heart.
There were CD's of the program available at the arena- how can I get one of those? I have a feeling that I will need to hear that message a few more times - at least!!
Thank you again for allowing God to reveal His truth to me through you.
Blessings,
Margie
Beth, thank you so much for being the vehicle for what God needs to say to us. Thank you so much for letting him love us through you. I really was delievered Friday when you spoke on fear. I felt not alone anymore when someone like yourself feels it. I am currently writing verses out to read out loud. Thank you again, you are so loved and prayed for.
Beth, if you only knew how God is using you through this Blog to inspire us (me)! I thank God for you! I must confess that I told God that I know I cannot ever be a "Beth Moore", but if He would just allow me just a little, little of "you" when I'm teaching my Sunday School class and the women's bible study classes at my church, that through studying His word, I will have that wisdom and knowledge and the passion and conviction to teach it as you do! That is my desire! I want to be able to impact women's lives through Christ, through teaching His Word and by leading them to a greater relationship with Him! I had the privilege of hearing you in Raleigh a couple of years ago (did not get to go to Boone this past May....it sold out before I could get tickets!!)anyway, I know that God has truly anointed you and called you to this service of teaching! and yes, inspiring!! You truly are an inspiration and I love your honesty and allowing all of us siesta bloggers to have a tiny peek at your personal life. Thank you! God Bless!
Beth in NC
I LOVE this blog! It is such an HONOR to share in other Siestas lives! Their Joys and Struggles! I love the transparency the realness...the way God has touched these womens lives! Thank you Amanda and Beth! I know it can't be that easy having to keep up with all of it in midst of everything else! It has been huge in my life : ) I use to go to the computer and read my emails then search Fox news...then be bored with that... search People.com (all the gossip junk!) Now my favorite thing is to read this! I Love it! I also love Life Todays webcasts...awesome interviews with great people! (Beth among the many! : ) )
So Thank you Amanda and Beth your great ministry continues! : ) I love what you said at the start of Believing God about how you all were going to use the internet for good...What Satan meant for evil...God is using it to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives! (Gen 50:20- my paraphrase) I believe that!
I'm praying that it will work out for the LPL Event to have a "Siesta Section"!! I would LOVE to HUG everyone and put faces with all the names and all the anonymous (how do you make that plural?) I feel like we all know each other...isn't that what is so fun about Jesus! When you are in Him you are instant friends by the Spirit (Siestas) We definitley need cute t-shirts!
Glad you had an awesome birthday! We are glad you were born! God bless Girls! Emmy : )
Dear Beth,
This is my first time leaving a comment although I read your blog almost daily. I thought it was time that I say thank you for the awesome impact you have had on my walk with God. Thank you for allowing God to heal you and then sharing your journey out of the pit with those of us who were still in it. I love you dearly, but when I sit down with one of your studies, tapes, or even with you in person (I am one of your Cleveland ladies), I know and love Him more. Thank you for allowing Him to shine so brightly through you!
Love and Prayers,
Amy
I'm so glad you had a fantastic party. I know from your writing that God showed up and showed out. Thank you LPM staff as you make Beth's life easy to navigate with your excellence in service to Adonai. Thank you Amanda and Melissa for going on this journey with your mother. God is well pleased.
Keep the faith.
In Him
Hey Everybody!
I loved what Kristi A shared in her comment. I receive weekly messages from Life Today with James and Betty Robison. Today's message was written by our dear Beth:
Mind the Holy Spirit’s Warning!
with Beth Moore
“For I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy;
for I betrothed you to one husband, that to
Christ I might present you as a pure virgin.
But I am afraid, lest as the serpent deceived
Eve by his craftiness, your minds should be
led astray from the simplicity and purity of
devotion to Christ.” (2 Corinthians 11:2, 3)
A young woman confided to me that she had fallen into an area of sin after swearing just the day before she would never do such a thing! What is being eroded to give the enemy that kind of entrance to overtake the externals of our lives and our actions? We cannot be possessed by Satan when we are sealed by the Holy Spirit and totally secured by Christ's salvation, but what happens when we slip into his seductive trap?
The Bible shows us that someone can be suddenly and unexpectedly overtaken in sin. Even the most spiritual person can be totally guarded in one area of their life and be trapped by the enemy in another unguarded area. That seems to be the real art of Satan’s plan of seduction. The day-to-day warfare Christians experience may be the hard ball, but seduction is the curve ball that comes from a direction we are not expecting.
No child dreams of being an alcoholic or a drug addict. Nobody plans a sexual addiction. The curious person that viewed pornography for a few moments never intended to be so obsessed that they spend their work hours craving more images.
The truth is that the enemy has planned an addiction for you and he drapes the rope of bondage very loosely at first, then suddenly jerks on the other end and you slip into his pit. We can’t walk in fear or hyper-legalism, but we must learn to walk in the spirit so we sense God’s warning signals.
On occasion, I have walked away from a place or a situation without knowing why. I just sensed the Spirit’s caution. Jesus abides in us by way of His Holy Spirit once we receive Him as our personal savior. It is imperative that we ask Him to fill us so when the Holy Spirit checks us, we will obey His warning regardless of how it appears in the natural.
I asked Christians who’d found themselves in a seductive mess if they were given a warning. Every person said, “Yes.”
“Why didn't you heed it,” I asked.
The consistent answer was, “I thought I was imagining it, so I talked myself out of it.”
Galatians 5:16 commands us to, “Walk in the spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.” When we sense the Holy Spirit is alerting us, we must learn to mind the spirit.
He will also tell us when a person is worthy of being helped, but we are not the one to help them. We have a very mean-spirited enemy who turns something that looks good into something evil. We may find ourselves broken, devastated and humiliated if we fail to heed the warning.
The voice on the airport tram warns, “Please step away from the door,” meaning if you don't get back, this door will take your head off! Under the open eyes of the Holy Spirit, we hear signals communicated from inside of us. If we don't learn to listen and walk in the Spirit we will feel it and slip into an early grave the devil prepares for us. He wants to bury us alive so far under the mud that we see no way out.
Often we won't make cry for help because we're too ashamed reveal the mess we are in. God has a rescue plan and if we obey Him, we will be able to say as the Psalmist did,
I waited patiently for the LORD;
he turned to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.
He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear
and put their trust in the LORD.
Blessed is the man
who makes the LORD his trust,
who does not look to the proud,
to those who turn aside to false gods.
Many, O LORD my God,
are the wonders you have done.
The things you planned for us
no one can recount to you;
were I to speak and tell of them,
they would be too many to declare.
(Psalm 40:1-5)
This Week
God wants you to come before Him and cry out, “Here I am—with all the broken mess I have made of my life. Here I am.”
Prayer
“Lord, pull me out of the enemy’s pit, and put my feet on The Rock, so I have a firm place to stand. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit so that I will not be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.”
God wants this for each of us. Speaking for myself...I've just got to learn to mind His promptings and obey.
Hugs
Here is a song for you...so jump out of the box and pretend you hear angels singing...smile
Happy Birthday to you... la da da da to you... hmmm hmmm hmmmm hmmm hmmmm hmmmmm hmmmm..
happy birthday to you...
such a gift from God.. and many more...
blessings....
Beth,
Thank you so much for honoring us with your presence this weekend in Cleveland. The minute we found out last year that you would be coming this year, I called my mama and said we have to go!! The Lord did a mighty work through you, as usual, and we enjoyed every second of it. Thank you for being so real with us.
Thank you also for bringing Travis with you. We just about fell out of our seats when we looked in that program and saw he was there, too. As you would say, HOT DOG!!
I learned so much on Friday, you are a remarkable teacher and I did receive a fresh word that day. My Mom and I quoted Revelations 1:8 all the way home that night!! We will never forget that one.
Thank you again.

When I hit the big 5-0, I hope I'm cool enough to use words like "gnarly."
(And of course I'd love to be as close to my daughters as you are, half as gorgeous as you are, half as loved as you are, maybe even half as blonde as you are. I doubt this redhead could pull that off, though.)
Beth-
So glad you all are over being sick. That really is the worst. Glad your birthday was so fun and filled with laughter. Now that all her chicks are out of the nest my mom gardens and loves bird feeders and baths. I'd love for you to post a picture for me to tell her about.
Amanda-
Still thinking of you hoping you are feeling better. I said being sick was the worst, but being sick and still having to be a mom to a little one who doesn't understand is REALLY the worst!
Nicole-
I'm lifting you up daily in my prayers. Praying for comfort and healing to surround you. Let us know how you are.
Beth-
Loved every minute with you on Friday in Cleveland! Could you give us the commission you left us with?
Thank you so much for your obedience - you are precious to me!
Love you dearly!
Thanks for remembering us girls out here - because of who you are, you give us all hope.
saved by grace
I'm sitting here totally exhausted from spending a few days watching our five grandchildren. What fun, but oh boy am I out of shape!!
I'm glad you're all doing better and that the little guy was spared. I just hate it when they get sick!!
The birthday party sounds wonderful and what could be more fun than a shopping spree when you don't really need anything?
Have lots of fun Beth. Happy Birthday again.
Hey Beth and Amanda and Melissa! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! HAPPY GRADUATION! Whew!!
I love coming to this "blog" and "visiting" with the girls! So happy you are feeling better!
I've gotta share --- I GOT HIGHLIGHTS!!!! Now I really feel like a siesta!
Being a Seattle area girl, I so love to see pictures of Beth at Starbucks!! Of course, I don't usually look so gorgeous when I stop in!!
Thank you, ladies, so much for bringing us all together to share God's amazing good stuff! It is such an encouragement to me every time I visit here!
Beth, you have an amazing way of teaching God's word to us along with the fun girlie stuff! You make this journey of knowing our Lord so real and down to earth and, of course, full of joy and laughter!
You girls truely feel like family ... isn't that what this is all about?!
So ... what did ya get on your shopping spree?! ;)
Love You! Carol
Beth, Glad you had a wonderful birthday and hope you enjoyed your shopping. I'm a June baby also, just celebrated my 29th.
Any bloggers who read this--I am looking for a good Christian fiction message board. I love reading Christian fiction but would love a message board to discuss with other readers and get new ideas for authors. Haven't found a really good one yet. If you know of one please let me know Siestas!
Ohhh Beth Moore- I hope your birthday was wonderful and that your shopping spree was so very fun! I love gift cards-
OK-I think I may be losing it, but when I heard Sister Sledge singing that song "We are Family", I mistakenly inserted "siestas" instead of sisters. Remeber that song??..."We are family, I got all my siestas and me." Have a wonderful Sunday!! You are loved!
Lissa
Welcome back Beth! And don't you fuss at those sweet LPM ladies for going overboard on your birthday- the big 5-0 is a big birthday to celebrate! I know my mom is approaching that same birthday this December (at the same time she will receive her doctorate) and I plan on celebrating BIG time! ;-)
My pastor (in our fairly conservative Southern Baptist church) was preaching this morning on David dancing before the ark of the Lord and I just kept thinking of you! I know in this and many other ways you are truly a woman after God's own heart.
Deeply loved are you, Beth and ALL the staff at LPM. THEY are behind the scenes, but we KNOW the VALUE those individuals are to the work. A big Tenessee shout out to the staff at LPM. WE thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus to countless lives. I'd buy everyone a Latte' and hug their necks if I could!
Welcome back, we've missed you!
Beth,
I am so glad you had a great birthday!! I look forward to finding out what God blessed you with on your shopping spree. I love when God and I go shopping we always have so much fun :) hehe
I also look forward to finding out what kind of get together God plans for us siestas - He always has such great plans :)
God loves you and we do too :)
Kim
What a treasure you are!!
I thought about you last week...my dad was going to the verizon store to buy me a RED phone because our old plan was up. Poor thing got confused at the store and he came out with a PINK one instead. My first thought was "Oh well, Mama B would smile...that's what she would have gone in for in the first place" :)
Glad you had such a great day with your Houston siestas. What fun the Lord must have had bringing your lives together :D Take care sweet friend!
Beth - So glad that you are feeling better. Thank you so much for sharing with us. You are such an encouragement to me.
Pam
Beth,
It's so neat to stay in touch with you via this blog! Thanks for taking the time to post and for keeping us updated on what's going on in the Moore family. We all feel as if we are related, and indeed we are in Christ!
Happy Belated B'Day!!!
Blessings!
Mary B.
Well, glory indeed. Those ladies know that they're celebrating on behalf of women everywhere and we were all present in our hearts. Glad your birthday was so special. Great job LPM ladies and gents!
Yes, my girlfriend and I were at the Cleveland convention even though we are from Freeport, Illinois NOT Cleveland. We made the drive to be with you on Friday and came away refreshed and commissioned!! No "regrets or grudges" after Friday !! What a blessing the lesson from the Lord through you Beth was ! It was exactly what we both needed !! Your refreshing honesty and your wonderful way you relate scripture to the daily grind is wonderful! Thank you for allowing the Lord to
use you to teach us! Please continue to teach at Women of Faith and don't wear yourself out, WE NEED YOU !!
Through His Love,
Barb
Susan starting reading the blog at the same time I learned of its existance - the wonderful, crazy bird story/analogy. It has been a wonderful encouragement and I often laugh out loud, which I've noticed I don't seem to do enough of.. and it feels good to do it. THANK YOU for sharing yourselves with us.
I finished Beloved Disciple this year, but not with a group, just by myself. It changed me completely. I am secure in God's love for me like never before. For that, I owe you a debt I can never repay. I've just begun To Live is Christ and look forward to the journey. Much Love ~
Linda
I was one of the 8,000 women at the Cleveland pre-conference and may I just say THANK YOU!! You totally blessed my socks off, Girlfriend! I love knowing that God is IS-ing over my was even now! Lots were asking for audio or DVD of the pre-conference but that was unavailable there -- any chance of getting that?? Would love to drink it all in again!! God Bless you Beth and all that you do for the Kingdom.
Happy belated Birthday, Beth! I'm enjoying reading your blog, and I so love your Bible studies/books. Thanks for allowing God to speak through you! You really make a difference in people's lives.
Dearest Beth -
So glad that your b- day was awesome!! I'm glad too that the sickness has passed also. That stuff just stinks.
Again, I'm all in for a group meeting. Sounds great! All of you are so encouraging to me. I think it would be awesome. :O)
I've started the new Woman's Heart Bible study this week. We've done three of your studies in a row now, and i just wanted to say THANKS for sharing all you've learned and thank you so much for all of your hard work. I can't even think about how much work writing all of that would be. You sure can lay it down though! I've learned more in the last year than I can even put into words, and God has really used you to encourage and renew my faith.
Love
Cynthia in OK
Looking forward to Blogger retreat! I am glad your staff wasn't too upset with you. I enjoy Jackson's attics...loved the "blue pen" and what is it about the shoes? Happy day of your birth for all of us...You are a blessing to me. Hold on tight to the One that holds you so closely. You remain in my prayers. Blessings to you and your family!!
This comment is for the precious Siesta who wrote that her pit was overeating and inactivity. As one who has been lifted from the miry clay of that same pit, dear one, let me assure you that I am praying for you today. Please know that your Abba loves you SO dearly - just as you are. You don't have to lose weight for Him to love you. BUT - because of His great love for you, He wants you to be healthy and happy. He will teach you and guide you along your journey and He will be faithful to move you towards the goal of being who He created you to be. There is great HOPE in Him.
I am a 61 year old grandmother who has struggled with weight issues for more than 40 years. Last September I told God that I was never going to diet again because I was tired of losing weight and gaining it back. I asked Him to help me learn to eat healthy foods in healthy amounts and to help me find a mode of exercise I could enjoy. God has blessed my meager efforts "exceedingly abundantly over all I asked or thought"! I have lost 54 pounds in these nine months and gone from a women's size 16 to a misses size 6. Here's the biggest miracle: I always thought exercise was a dirty word. Today, I can hardly stand to miss a day of working out and find my self smiling all the time I exercise.
The Holy Spirit has made my heart very tender towards your plea. I would love to share more specifics with you and encourage you anyway I can. You can email me direct if you'd like: bgwooley@bellsouth.net
Beth - I've LOVED hearing about your birthday. When I turned 50 someone reminded me that 50 is the Year of Jubilee. So, sweet thing, you just keep celebrating and rejoicing all year long. You are the dearest blessing to so many of us. I thank God on every remembrance of you!
Love, Beverly Wooley, Tupelo, MS
Dearest Beth,
Do you have any idea how many women just started blogs so they could come to the Bloggy Camp Meeting?? I must go on record as saying I started in February - so I hope that gets me through the red rope 'cause I am totally there... :)) I know LifeWay will think of the coolest way to package this if it works out...
Hope the fam is all better...Much Love to you on your birthday...50 never looked so great!
Lisa
OK, So sorry...I messed up the lyrics..."We are family, I got all my siestas with me."
This is a wonderful group of women. There is nothing like a strong sisterhood!!
"All This and Jesus, Too???" I think that should be on a t-shirt somewhere. Maybe it is and I've just missed it.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BETH!! It looks and sounds like it was a ton of fun and how fun that Melissa got to have her "first day" on your "big day!"
I led worship with some friends yesterday at a conference and Angela Thomas was the guest speaker. We sat at lunch and shared and laughed and just acted a little goofy and I thought to myself..."I never imagined that life would be so much fun and that God would be such a delight at this time of my life -- at 41 years old!!"
ALL THIS AND JESUS, TOO!!!
Love ya, Siesta,
Dori
I missed you too! My puzzlepiece sista and I were just commenting on the extravagant gifts that the Father seems to be lavishing on each of us. He seems to be one-upping Himself! It seems He has been gracious to you also! I prayed your birthday would be great! Keep up the dialogue with Lifeway! Maybe Betsy can help! I would love to see all of you again! Love you all!
Beth, looking forward to a bloggers weekend.
Samuel's Aunt Sara, would you please email us at blog@Lproof.org? We'd love to be able to reach you by email.
And for anyone who might have a question or concern that we would need to respond to, please remember to email us rather than posting it in a comment. Thank you so much!
Hi Beth,
I thank God for how he uses you to bring His Word to life for others.
On Friday, I was able to hear you speak at the WOF event in Cleveland, Oh. Your enthusiasm was great. The message touched my heart.
In the last few years, I've dealt with a lot of difficult things. Your Bible studies have been so relevent to what I'm going through it seems as if you're speaking just to me.
Again, thank you for what you do. God bless you and your family.
Kara
You bless me on so many levels - thank you. You inspire me to love Jesus and to run after this walk with total abandon. Thank you for allowing God such access to you that He could use you to bless so many! Sunshine
I just wanted to thank you for allowing Christ to work through you. I was at WOF in Cleveland this past weekend and was blessed beyond words from your teaching.

I'd LOVE to talk with you about fiction. I LOVE reading fiction and right now I'm reading "The Zion Covenant" book series by Bodie Thoene. I also love ANYTHING by Francine Rivers. Email me.
love you siesta,

I am so excited about the possibility of an event....I was a Raliegh Girl and SO enjoyed the conference and am anxiously awaiting the study! But I must share with you something incredible that God showed me in Columbia! On Saturday right before the final session, I noticed Beth sitting right by the stage and her "body-guard" standing with his back to her...a lady tried to approach Beth and he kindly redirected her and shook his head no....I had really been at war lately over a situation that I was dealing with and was growing pretty weary in the battle...as I sat there, God used the picture of the "body-guard" with Beth to show me a picture of Jesus standing with His back to me and telling satan(not as kindly) NO!! You cannot get to her! It was the most incredible thing! I am a very visual person so God has to "act out" things for me to get it! :) Thank you all for your continued obedience to the Lord and His work!!
In Christ,
Wendy
This blog has been such a joy to me! There have been days when I just sneak a peek at work and get blessed every time. I have a little girl one month older than Jackson so it's been so fun to read about his little life and compare notes on what he's doing and what my daughter, Katelyn is doing. I could never have imagined what a blast having a child would be!
I saw you in Columbia, SC. I made copies of the Columbia Commissioning and had them laminated for my friends. That was a big hit with everyone. We keep them posted on our fridge as a reminder.
Thanks for the fun blog!

I love the excerpt from AW Tozer's book. I am currently in a place of seeing so much pride in my life masqueraded in so many forms. God is so good and patient and His lovingkindness is better than life. I enjoy very much the love shared on this blog. I appreciate the freshness of everyday life that is shared not only by Beth, but also by the other sisters. In my group of girlfriends here in Waynesboro, MS, we also celebrate our birthdays together as well as just getting together for fun. You know, "garage saleing", picnicing, and just being together. Thank you for the encouragement to my heart.
I attended the WOF conference and Beth you were AWESOME. I went with our bible study group (we are completing our last week in Breaking Free/awesome study)from the Church of Open Door and we were joking with each other about us "ising in our what is". It was truly a wonderful message and I thank you for time with Cleveland,OH. We were joking about how you wore us out with all your abundant energy. We love you. God Bless LPM and may it continue to reach many women who need to hear His Word.
Patty
So nice to hear from you again dear Miss Beth! Glad you're celebration continues (in Jesus that is!). Thank you for sharing your walk with all of us, your siestas feel especially blessed. My mom and I are coming to Washington DC for the preconference to spend some "live time" with you- we'll catch WOF in Philly. Thank you again. I continue to thank our Father in heaven for your transparency, and your teaching. Love in Jesus, Kim in PA
Thanks so much for coming to Cleveland! I came with 6 other women from my church and we had a blast! I am a pastor's wife and a stay at home mom. So getting out of the house childless and spending time with other women was so refreshing! I have been so blessed through your studies because they challenge me! I need that to keep growing! Not only have the studies helped me grow in my faith but they have also given me the opportunity to meet new women and cultivate some great friendships!
I have one question for anyone who can relate. I would like some advice on raising PK's (Pastor's Kids). I have two daughters (almost 4 and 21 months) who love our church and everyone there. My oldest has questions for me every day about God and Jesus that blow my mind or make me chuckle. Like "Did Jesus ever spill or make crumbs when he was eating?" Or "I am not that smart Mommy. I don't know where heaven is. Well but I think my heart does.."
Anyway, after watching other PK's grow up and away from the Lord instead of closer, I worry. Any advice on how I can help encourage them when the pressure will be on to always do the right thing? We are in a good size church and already everyone knows and loves my girls and watches everything they do. That will be a lot of pressure as they get older. I know Beth; I need to keep my "is-to-comes" out of my "is!" I am trying!
I think someday I will have to write a book on how to be a pastor's wife and a PK's mom....hmm. Thanks for the encouragement.
Jennifer W.
I just wanted to thank whoever posted the beautiful snippit from Tozer. I literally stumbled on to it, and this blog, though I know not by coincidence. God's timing is perfect and it was just what I needed. Had I not already been bare-footed, it would have blessed this Texas girl's socks off! So thankful to have found this dear fellowship of Siestas (I love that!) and already looking forward to more of you all!

Beth,
I don't drink coffee (my 6'4" father always warned me it would either make one short or put hair on one's chest; mom drinks it like water), but I do host "coffees" for the spouses' group once or twice a year and thought you might enjoy this recipe for your future parties:
1 quart coffee flavored ice cream, softened
12 oz cream soda
12 oz ginger ale
Put the ice cream in a punch bowl, pour sodas down the side and stir gently and ta-da!- homemade frapuccinos. The ladies clean me out every single time. I believe this would serve about 15 (not including seconds) so adjust accordingly.
I saw you for the first time at the live event in Cleveland and I just wanted to say thank you for coming. You have lifted my spirits and made me crave the Word in ways that I didn't know possible. Thank you for being such an amazing teacher and enlightening us in how our God is the Is-ing One! The I AM.
Susan
What a delight this blogis! I don't know if I'm the only one, but just like when I read your fabulous books and studies, I just hear it in "Texan"! Having lived in the Austin area for about 8 years, maybe it's just easier for me to hear!! =)
Love it that you had just an awesome birthday, may you be blessed to enjoy many more!
to anonymousof the coffee punch recipe.....sounds tasty..I'm a transplanted RI girl and i think RI was The Only State where Macdonalds offered Coffee Shakes when they ORIGINALy opened( that was when burgers, fries and shakes were 15 cents each)!! RI was the home of the official Coffee syrup "you'll smack your lips when it's ECLIPSE" Eclipse is now out of business...they were "before their time" And Beth if you have to order coffee in RI at Dunkin Doughnuts (you are after all an adventuresome gal) remember that "coffee regla" means- with cream and sugaaa-....if you want it served another way you have to be specific!!!!
I had the great experience in Cleveland Ohio experiencing WOF with my niece, sharing God's word and Beth you spoke directly to my heart and soul. God is working on my "IS" despite my "was". Thank you Beth for being such a diligent servnt of our heavenly father

Oh boy!! I have missed alot of action over here. I am thrilled that the camp may be a reality!! What an amazing thought!! YIPPEE!!
I hope I get in!! :)
Have a great day ladies!
Hi Beth,
I'm a Lansing girl, but I was in Cleveland on Friday and just want to say I loved "meeting" you. Before Friday I'd heard tons about you but had never been in one of your studies or seen you in person. Wow! When women say, "Jesus is all over Beth," they are speaking truth.
It was a great day, and I am so encouraged to live out my IS!
Loving Jesus,
Karen
Dear Miss Beth, Thank you. Glad you're back. Since you share with us so much in visuals, I wanted to share this one with you from Ephesians 3:18...

Is the love of Christ. (It's supposed to form a cross, when I preview it, it doesn't, but you get the picture?!) I picture this in 3D neverending in each directions. God is awesome. God showed me this early on in my walk and it has blessed me so. Thank you for exhorting us to love Jesus above all. The best part of what you do is pointing us to Christ- always. We're so very blessed. Love in Jesus, Kim in PA
Beth, Beth, Beth! I was there on Friday, and believe me when I say that it was WE who were blessed. Truly, if the pre-coference was all I got for the weekend it would have been worth the trip (from MI). You are such an amazing woman of God and I just wanted to hug you hard when it was done. You walked right past us at the end and my friend and I simultaneously (without planning)said "thank you Beth" and you looked at us adn blew a kiss and said that you loved us .... so now we tell everyone that we are like this - crossed fingers - with Beth Moore!!!! That was all light hearted, but you truly dod minister to my spirit in ways that I cannot begin to express! My "is" is a much better palce without all that "was" in it!!! Thank you, and God Bless you, for helping me learn to start moving on. Please pray as I continue to leave it all behind! And besides, you sweet wonderful woman, you reminded me that in the end, I will be much neater healed than if i was just plain well!!!
I love ya Beth - and thanks again
I have so many times wanted to respond to one of your blogs, but didn't know how to do it. Thanks so much for the information!
Blessings,
Joy
I loved Cleveland ... thank you for letting God show me thru His Word thru you that my "was" is healing just fine, but we're got some work to do on my "is to come"...!
Dear Sistas,
I've been searching the blogs to see if any of my buddies are on here but it seems that I might be the first from the sunny Cayman Islands to blog here. LPM has been a blessing to me for the last fifth of my life (can anyone say which study I am currently doing?). I was first introduced to Beth's study of David and have been "hooked" ever since. I have facilitated David for our conference's women's ministry leaders and for my own church. Each time I have done it has been a new blessing. Unfortunately, due to our geography, I have not had the privilege of attending a session in person but the on-line, webcasts and video/dvd ministries are still amazing me and blessing many sistas here. My daughter and her friends recently started the Beloved Disciple study - please pray that they will follow through as I believe that if they can fall in love with Jesus when they are young they are set for life.
I am so glad that I opened the blog today and found the Tozer quote - I'm off to find the book; do you hear the tires squealing?
Cleveland was awesome! I got home and got to the computer right away to see when I could do it again!
I gleaned two sermons from your teachings (had trouble reading all of my writing...I was scribbling like mad to take it all down)This morning I will share with the congregation our is to come cheaters! Glory to God!
Thanks for being faithful and encouraging me to dig even deeper!
Love ya!
Stephanie
Dearest Beth, I was one of the fortunate ones to be able to welcome you to Cleveland, it was such a joy to have you here. God did have a word for me, you are such a blessing because you step aside and let God do the work. Your depth of scripture is amazing. God shows you things in His word that everyone else passes over.I love your vitality, joy and excitement over the Lord...please come back soon and stay longer! I know we're northerners, it just takes some of us time to get the snow brushed off and let the warmth of Gods praise come through. I'll praise Him with my heart and hands no matter the season!
P.S. Travis was awesome as well!
Beth, I was in Cleveland and you blew me away! This was my first time seeing you in person. I have done many of your studys and am getting ready to start the Paul study this weekend. Your knowledge and excitement about the Word is overpowering! I was exhausted after watching you on Friday! Someone once told me that when you start to speak the Holy Spirit immediately falls on the place, they were not kidding. As soon as you started to speak, the Holy Spirit was in that arena! God Bless you! I am looking forward to your Esther study. She is one of my favorite persons from the bible. Thanks again for speaking in Cleveland! Love Ya!
