Wouldn't It Be Fun?
Hey, Siestas! I moderated comments (thanks for the applause!) during Camper's bunk time and now he's up so I just have a few minutes while he plays right here in front of me. You're absolutely right. I am kid crazy! But, I am also nuts about serving Jesus to women - all ages, shapes, denominations, types and sizes - and I couldn't help but think that I wish some of you who could really use a break could have camp yourself! I wish so much I could fix some of you extra weary and discouraged siestas a hot fudge sundae on homemade vanilla Blue Bell and tell you how much you mean to Jesus and how vividly He wants to speak to you through His Word. I don't see that happening very soon but I've been thinking about something ever since several of our blog siestas have written about having met up at events. It's not nearly as good as camp (that would be a total blast but finding a way to do it would be nuts!) but wouldn't it be fun if we could choose a central United States location of a Living Proof Live event in 2008 for regular bloggers (who could) to attend? At this point this is totally theoretical but I'm going to look into whether or not there would be a way to set aside a certain amount of tickets for a specified event and hold them only for a certain amount of time. I might even be able to get a section set aside at the event (my staff is going to kill me for throwing this out there but keep in mind, it's just a wild thought at this point) so you guys could sit together and see each other face to face. If it worked, we'd choose an event in time enough for all of you to save up your money for tickets, travel, and lodgings. I know it would be a lot of money but with time enough in advance, maybe you could set some aside. Maybe some of you could make a full Saturday out of it and get with some of the people you've really connected with. It's just an idea but let's see if God shows us in months to come that it was His idea.
OK, I've gotten in enough trouble for now so here's quick recap on today's activities at Camp Bigs (named after a family endearment):
*Camper bath time (a must particularly if you recall forementioned camp theme song to the tune of "The Wheels On The Bus")
*Quality time with Camp Cook (aka: Paw Paw Keith) - consisted of much rolling around on floor followed by a cartoon while cuddled up with blanket on Cook's comfy tummy.
*Lunch at a great burger joint with LPM staff aunties who all made very big over our little dude. We are baby folks around LPM with several young mommies on staff and we make a very big deal over their little ones, too!
*A field trip to Barnes and Noble because Camp Director is a book freak and wants Camper to be one, too. We got some new interactive toddler selections for camp.
*Our standard puppet show with stuffed animals when Camper first wakes up from his nap. After he rubs the sleep out of his eyes, he stands up in his crib and points to a stuffed bear and puppy so that Camp Director will put on a show. It's a hit every time.
And now it's supper time! Whew! Camp Director is busy, busy, busy! (On the third time around I accidentally wrote "busty" instead of busy. So glad I caught that!! Man, I need to cut these solar nails or I'm liable to get into trouble.)
You guys be blessed and have a little camp time with your Father. He loves you so and I'm so honored to be able to remind you of that.
PS. I don't make a habit of answering to specific blog comments because I'd never be able to keep up with them but I feel the need to call back to something. Darling Ones, never ever go to the wasted energy of feeling jealous over me or my family. We are people delivered from cavernous pits. People you couldn't have even respected in our past lives. Rich in strongholds and deep in sin. Miracles if you'll ever meet them. And we still have plenty of challenges and issues. We're still super connected with real life and we bruise and bleed often. We still get our feelings hurt at each other and have hard days. Fellow sojourners. That's all. What we have of any success whatsoever, anybody can have. JESUS. He's it. He's everything.
I love you. And, yes, I got a fresh tan today. Heehee.

I am there! I can't wait! : ) Emmy : )
So, I'm thinking the LPM conference for all us siestas...its an extremely good idea! I'd come!
Oh Beth, having a "get together" at one of the LPL events is such a great idea! I'm already making plans to meet up with some "blog siestas" in September at Deeper Still. I can't tell you the blessing this whole blog adventure has been. Most of us only got started because of your blog and now it has turned out to be such an encouragement as we walk together with Jesus. I will be praying over this with you. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help!
Great idea, Beth. You can count me in for meeting these lovely Siestas!
I just laugh hysterically reading your accounts of Camp Granny. You remind me so much of my mom with my daughter, Abby, who will be 3 in August! It's such a special relationship. Enjoy!
I have had two of your bible studies and loved every minute.I read you blog everyday and pray for your work with women.I would love to come see you live in person someday.
Beth...You are so making me miss my little camper grandkids...Going to try to get them here next week so I can have some camper fun, too...They are 7 and 10 so we will be doing some of the same activities adjusted for the older campers. We are book store crazy, too...Thank you Jesus...
Thank you for your inspiration as a Gran and siesta in Christ...
Thank you for reminding us how much we mean to Jesus.
Sometimes it is easy to forget.
Denver & mile high orchestra have a song (not released yet) called He Knows Your Name. Another reminder of His love for us.
Enjoy your camp time!
I am mostly a siesta "lurker" here. The entries are always an encouragement when I stop by. Reading about daily activities at Camp Bigs has been fun!
I love summer time...kids, tans, vacations and all. But getting to read about others enjoying it too makes summer even better!
Kellie
Your heart is precious, and I know God will continue to bless this sweet time with Jackson! I think is it so important to be transparent with each other - so that God is glorified in our weaknesses...thank you for your transparency ;) You like your nail round or square?
Hey everyone!
This siesta from Michigan is in!!!!
Just name the time & place and I WILL be there!
P-L-E-A-S-E, God... let it be YOUR idea!!!!
Dear Beth-
A prayer of mine was answered today... my daughter who just moved to New York texted me today saying, "Beth Moore really is awesome"! (She just listened to your "The Lord God Made Woman") She will be 22 on YOUR birthday and she is brand new to listening to you!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!
I am forever grateful for your obedience!
xox-Angie
Thank you for being real about the painful past of your family... It gives me so much hope to see your true life story of Jesus redemption. I am on my own healing journey, and it is inspiring to see that He can indeed turn a broken life and broken past around. There will never be perfection (on this side of heaven...) but there can indeed be peace, restoration, joy, purpose. Praise His glorious name!!!!!!
Oh my gosh!
Just yesterday I was driving along listening to some of the songs Travis and the worship team sang at the Living Proof Live in Seattle, this past February. (My mother and I were there, it was awesome, we were blessed!)
At one point, a lovely woman mentioned that there might be an event in Vancouver next year.
So I was thinking (in the car) how I should try to organize a Northwest Siestas "round up."
But a national round up would be even better!
Don't worry, we won't hold you to anything. We know you're just brainstorming and thinking big!
But, just in case you were wondering, my vote is YES!
As far as envy goes, I never want to be anyone else. But I do sometimes think, "I wish that person was my neighbor." My ideal neighborhood would be full of all my favorite family members and old friends, none of whom actually live near me. But this neighborhood would also include the women I don't know in real life, through whom God has blessed me. (Like you!) Just so that I could wave hello and occasionally borrow/lend a cup of sugar.
:)
Beth,
You are so sweet! I love you sharing stories about your redeemed past because it is "living proof" to those of us with struggling marriages that it is possible!
I want to leave a legacy of faith to my daughter, like you said in in one of your studies, I don't want to leave a full set of luggage as baggage for her maybe just a duffle bag because none of us are perfect parents. I a reminded of a song by Sara Grooves, "Generations." The chorus repeats
Remind me of this with every decision.
Generations will reap what I sow. I can pass on a curse or a blessing to those I will never know.
I have been really growing in my relationship with the Lord over these past five years, as long as I have been married. And since my daughter was born, I can relate to the parent analogies throughout the Bible so much more. But my daughter plays at doing bible study so I know she sees my in His word. And since I have been taking my daughter to BSF, I have gotten my mom involved and this is the first time she has ever study the Bible but she is an avid reader and I thank her for that (so keep it up with Jackson!) So I know that she is influencing my mom at three! We are going to break the cycle with this generation! Thank the Lord!
Love the idea of getting together. I need to write more and read other comments. I tell everyone about the blog! I am even starting a blog I told Amanda something I would never have considered before now.
Enjoy the rest of Camp Bigs! What a blessing you are to us.
Kristina
Dear Miss Beth, It is ever so tempting to fall into the trap of getting jealous over you all, and so you kindly remind us we're sisters and brothers...equal in the eyes of our Father. Thank you for that.
I'll tell you, little Jackson and Amanda have taught me a big lesson (I'm thinking back to the pen incident). I've had a thing with food and over indulging for a really long time- it used to be a big problem many years ago. Recently, I really just fell before the Lord over it and felt he was reminding me of the lesson of the pen. Our Father longs to deliver us from things that harm us. Food does not harm me, trying to fight the obsession in my own strength is what will harm me. I asked Him why I haven't given it over to Him and I believe the answer was because I'm afraid He'll never let me have a treat. Pride and selfishness, lack of trust... Then I remembered a lesson little Jackson's granny taught me. I need to ask the Lord to change my WANT TO. From food and treats to yielding/submission to the Lord Jesus Christ. (Moderation is not my thing either!)
This is a long entry for me, but I feel like this is a real breakthrough for me and I wanted to thank the little camper for getting into trouble just to teach little ole me a lesson! I pray I can return the favor some day.
We are blessed, thank you for sharing Miss Beth, you minister to me. Thank you Father. Love in Jesus with a joyful heart and an ever so grateful heart, Kim in PA
A hot fudge sundae and a LPM event for us bloggers! I can barely contain myself! Seriously, if it ever came to pass, that would be incredible (both the ice cream and the event). :-)
Camp Bigs sounds like a blast. I wonder if registration is open to more next year? :-) I have two more campers for you! He, he, he.
Have a great time with your little handsome man for the rest of the week!
Count me in!!! I am so there!!! I've "met" a couple of women on the LPM blog that I've never seen in person, but we e-mail each other daily and I've talked to two of them on the phone several times. We've had some AMAZING "Jesus talks."
THAT WOUD ROCK! PLEASE!!!! Figure out how to arrange for us to see each other - even if you posted the "details" on the site for a day or two so that only we know and then take it down before the 1000s of other fans find out.
Please Beth - have the LP Team figure it out!
YES YES YES!!!!
Tell us when and where and I'd LOVE to be at that Siesta event.
And congrats on the fake tan... I have to update mine regularly as well!
Oh, my gracious Beth. That is a crazy wild good idea about getting together and sitting together. I think that is such a great idea. If your staff gets mad and quits you can replace them with all us siestas...... :)
Sounds as if you have everything covered there at Camp Bigs. Glad to know you have a fresh tan now. I have never tried the spray on tans but have wanted to. I so remember the talk about the self tanner at the Living Proof event in Knoxville, TN. I laughed and laughed and when you came back out the next day and apologized for so many mentions of the self tanner I had to howl with laughter. I know it probably won't be possible to have that hot fudge sundae this side of heaven but man I am looking forward to meeting up with you and having one up there. Could I possible have some mint with mine?? I love mint and chocolate together..... :) As far as I am concerned that has to be served at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. Love to you and your precious family. You are such a mentor to all of us and I appreciate you so much. Getting closer to your big day......
I'm just going to say - love you, Miss Beth. Have a fun rest of the week!
Rebecca

When you spoke of the jealous part, I was just thinking when you were describing your time with your little guy that I was just a little green. Not just of you but all Grandmothers/Grandfathers and I was thinking why don't I make everyday a camp for my two little campers that I have here (my 7 and 8 yr old daughters) instead of more like a prison work release program!! And yes I do know that you have paid those Mommy Dues that allow for these precious times now but I need to make more time for fun, cuddles, and kisses in my now!!! Much love and prayers for only more fun the rest of you time together!! And a very happy birthday!! Are you telling how many candles on the B-day cake?
Oh dear Siesta, I would love a blog-section at a LPM event! Thank you, dear Beth, for sharing your ups and downs with us, you are a wonderful Sister-in-Christ! Thank you for sharing this Amazing Jesus with us!!
Laurette from OHIO
This is my first ever entry. I've been reading this blog for a few months now and it has truly blessed me. Now that I'm blogging, I'm a true siesta!!! I was recently in Columbia, SC for Living Proof Live and heard some ladies talking about the blog; been hooked ever since.Have fun at camp!!!!
Hey Beth, I know exactly what fun you are having with little Camper. My girls think I've really lost my mind when my little campers come over. We run, scream, and giggle until we can hardly breath. Oh, your own children are precious but those grandchildren bring out the best in us. God really knew what he was doing, (like he always knows what is better for us) when he thought up grandparents. Joy can seem so far away but let those little faces show up in the driveway and joy covers me like a sheet dropped out of the sky.
Thanks for sharing how you life use to be because it makes me realize that my pit life can be buried in the pit and a new healthy life can surface. Well, keep enjoying that little camper. Ceffie Haught Bridgeport, WV
Oh, I love the camper idea for us bloggers.
What a lovely day with little camper. I love Barnes and NOble..dear hubby has not let me in there lately...I have a thing for their tea along with their books and the dear hubby says that is too much...Dear Beth my summer bible study ladies and I started your Daniel study today...oh my...do I already feel stretched...and I am giving up chocolate...I could say yes...but I am going to say no while we do this study...thank you for sharing your love with us siestas...I think you wild idea would be oh so fun. I missed you when you were in Omaha and I was sorely disappointed about that...Enjoy your little camper...You are doing marvelous with moderating...amanda will be so proud
hugs and love,
Tammy
Oh Beth!
I am so excited about meeting other blog siestas at one of your events! God blessed me by allowing me to meet Shelly and Abby,(in Boone) the sweetest young women I have ever met and they love Jesus. Whenever the details are ironed out and God allows us the sweet privilege of doing this, I am there!!
You are so busy this week and I am loving every minute of it for you. It makes me smile and laugh because I have CD studies of yours that have you talking of wanting grandbabies and now you are living the thang!!! What a great grandma you are!! I love to read and love books, Barnes and Noble would have been a great field trip with you. ;) I am so glad you got your tan. I really need to find a good place for that. My 1st and only experience left me glowing orange. I looked like an experiment gone bad! hehe Have fun with your little man and I bet Pappaw is cooking up some good food. Oh, a shout out to Blue Bell. The best ice cream ever!! So glad we get it in East Tennessee!!
Love You,
Patty
You go girl....a section set aside for bloggers at a Living Proof Live event would be so awesome! Who knows...it COULD happen!!! Thank you for helping us to fall more and more in love with Jesus everyday! You are right.......He IS IT!!! Susan
Dear Siesta Beth,
I know you don't know me from Adam but I feel like we are family since we have done all of your studies together, some of them more than once. (We are currently doing Daniel and loving it!) I am also very blessed to attend church with some of your sweet family in Waco.
I am just so tickled for the camp director! My boys are 14 and 11 and reading your posts from Camp Bigs reminds me of when they were toddlers in jammies.
I just love that you are so real and we have so much in common. The first time I saw my name as part of the women's ministry leadership team I immediately thought to myself....this is what Beth means, this is scandalous! Praise Him!! This former pit dweller appreciates all you have done to help us see how to let Him lift us out of the pit and set us on firm ground. One day God is going to show you all the lives you touched and the seeds you planted and it is going to blow your mind! Praise the Lord and thank you for being obedient to His calling on your life!

P.S. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! We are leaving for a family vacation and I won't get a chance to tell you that later in the week.
That would be a blast! Count me in! I want to thank you so much for all you do for the kingdom of Christ. I am learning to nail down my strongholds and make new walls. It is a process but one worth taking. I am learning so much by listening to the 30 minutes with Beth. (Ihave catching up to do so I do one every day). I grab my Bible, pen and paper and I'm ready! I am so excited to have the freedom I know is mine to have in Christ. I have tried so many times and to hear you talk about tring and tring you are describing me. But you have shed new light on it for me and given me steps to follow. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Praise be to God! I also wanted to wish you the happiest of birthdays and I am glad to hear of all the fun you are having with Jackson. He is a cutie!! Thanks Beth you truly are my siesta!
You are such an inspiration! If you can run around after a toddler all day, so can I!
Thank you for your kind words. I am in the midst of Jesus, the One and Only. You are a wonderful teacher! Keep it up!
Thank you again for always being real. As I was reading this, I was thinking how wonderful it is that we can all 'do camp' together one day in Heaven. We can enjoy our Blue Bell ice cream and sit around and talk and just enjoy all of our wonderful Siestas. What a blessing!
What a terriffic idea! What fun to get to see all "us bloggers".
Thank you to all siseta's who have prayed for my request for my mother who has days/weeks. My father is extremely mean and is mean to my mother and I am so tired and I know my siseta's are praying.
Thank you again for sharing about Camp Biggs, it's so fun and such joy to log on and see the daily activities.
Take care of that camper!
Hi, I'm a new blogger, but I read the blogs daily. Is it appropriate to use this blog to connect with other bloggers? I am a new believer, having accepted Christ in 2000. Here's my dilemma...my father is a homosexual and I am having a really hard time with that. I am cautious to open up to even my dearest friends because I'm embarrassed. Is it ok to ask if anyone else out there has dealt with that? I don't want to misuse the blog.
Beth
I have a T-shirt with Grandma's Camp. I wear when I do camp with my Grandchildren They are so much fun and reading your blog makes me just want to go pick them up and head for a field trip. I like the idea of a bloggers camp. We can have T-shirts to match and make smores. Most of all share our love for Jesus, Isn't He life. Have a great camp day tomorrow, hopful I will get to see my 6 month old bundle of joy grandson. He sleeps with both hands over his head as praising the Lord.
In His love
Marilyn Attalla, Al
Beth,
Thanks for sharing with us. It sounds like you're having a blast. I have a 18 month old daughter who brings me more joy than I could ever imagine.
You have been such a blessing to me over the years. God has used you time and again in my life.
A centralized Living Proof would be awesome! How cool to meet real live, in-the-flesh siestas who "get it" when we act nuts over The One Who to Whom we owe our everything.
Fake nails, fake tans, busty for busy--Who cares? You're keeping the blog going and that's what's important. I'm new at this stuff, too, so I KNOW what you're going through--keep the faith, Girlfriend!
Count me in! Count me in!
I would LOVE to attend that LIVE event. I pray you don't get in too much trouble for suggesting it and it all works out. :)
Have fun at camp!
I'm de-lurking to comment for the first time! I just couldn't help but say how wonderful that hot fudge sundae would be about now! And I love your commentary on your little Camper and all your adventures! He's a lucky little man to have you for his grandmother!! Bless you, Karen
I am so glad to hear your reminder of how you are a real person with real problems. We only see a glimpse of you and your life and wish our life could be like that, but we don't see the road it took to get you where you are and the road you now travel. I appreciate your ministry, but love being on this side of your calling!!
Thank you for your obedience to God's call and the encouragement it give me to answer His call on my life.
Oh - I'm all for Camp Bloggers. Time of relaxing, refreshing, restoration.
Can we go somewhere that we can get a real tan? :)
Jean
Oh MAN! That would be soooo cool if we could all get together at one location. I asked my husband if he'd let me do it and he said "yes!" As long as we can find child care.
Anyways, Thanks for the daily updates on your little camper. And for the daily encouragements. They help more than you know. Thanks for being my siesta.
love you ~
Kristi
Oh, I pray that we could have a LPM event for bloggers!!
Let's all pray for Ruth Graham, Billy Graham's wife. She is in a coma and not expected to live very long. What a wonderful servant of the LORD!
Love you sistas,
Laura
I don't comment often, but I read everyday. Yes, those in the throws of "young motherhood" could use a break, but just hearing someone acknowledge that helps! Thank you for taking time to uplift us. You are a blessing!
What an awesome idea. I will pray a feasible plan can we worked out for the Siestas to meet face-to-face. I agree, it would be fun! I'll start saving my pennies.
The Lord has blessed me beyond measure by this blog. What a joy to read the posts and the comments. I am amazed to see the unity. We share one heart because we are one in Christ. Praise You Lord, for these dear ones.
The recaps of the events have been wonderful. The song we hear as we watch the Omaha recap has so blessed my heart.
Loving the "Camp Big" Daily Journal.
I love you, too!
Sounds like great fun at Camp Bigs! I know you and Keith are enjoying having Jackson all to yourselves for a few days.
I just wanted to say thanks, Beth, for sharing your journey with us. You have blessed my life and many others with your testimony. I pray that you are blessed in return.
Have fun this week!
"Busty" and tanned. What a combination, Beth! Cracking me up. Would love the LPM idea. I recall the early blog days with only a handful of comments. How fun it is to watch God grow it!
Time to sing "Day is Done, Gone the Sun..." (camp song)
Cathy
Beth, while you're having such a wonderful time with your camper, I am enjoying some exclusive grandma time with a 16-year-old grandaughter at a conference in Chicago. Let me just tell you that it gets sweeter and sweeter the older they get. I have laughed so much today! I'm so blessed.
I love the idea of being able to meet people from the blog! I am a long time reader but first time poster. It would be great if there was a way for us to find out if any of us live nearby each other to start meeting up. We recently moved to CT and I can't find any churches here who have your studies or any "siestas", and I could really us some mommy fellowship! Just thoughts...
Oh, I'm so excited!! I know your wild and crazy idea of a "Siesta section" at an upcoming LPL event may not come to fruition. But I'm still excited because next year will be the first time in my life that I could actually consider ATTENDING such a thing! Oh, what fun!! I've never been to a live event, and actually, by the time I discovered your Bible studies we were already living overseas. But we are scheduled to return to the States early next year (a fact that I have been struggling with, because I love where we live now and I have a hard time with change - especially moving). However, one thing I am very much looking forward to is the possibility of attending an LPL conference! And if I get to sit in the "Siesta section", SO MUCH THE BETTER!!!
I am so glad you continue to have a blast Granny Bigs. You are right Beth, Jesus is the best camp counselor!! He has completely WOWed me all day today!! I have been singing and skipping with the biggest smile on my face all day :)
By the way, it is ironic the idea you posted about getting something together for the fellow blog siestas. I am the women's ministry coordinator for our church so I have been making the plans for Sept and I have had this nagging feeling that I wanted do something fun so we could all recognize one another. I considered a bright t-shirt with the LPM scripture and SIESTA on the front and maybe our blogger name on the back. If anyone is interested in that for the September Deeper Still conference e-mail me at connorcolesmom@gmail.com
(I look forward to hugging my siestas in person - hehe)
I do love the idea of a LPL for siestas (I know you will let us know if it looks like it might work out). However, I have to confess that I was just telling God today how much I love these events not because of any person that is there but because of how the
ONE that shows up shows up so BIG and full of awesome wonder!! It is breathtaking (and it always makes me cry)!!
Thank you LORD!
God bless you sweet Beth and
Much love siestas,
Kim
Hello Siesta Beth
I would love to attend a LPL event with my blobbing siestas! Sign me up!
I wanted to say to the pastor's wife that needed prayer that I will pray for you also because I know firsthand about the trials of ministry. My husband is a missions pastor. I attended the LPL event for pastors wives last year and it was incredible! Were you there? Well you know our Beth is the ultimate encourager and she did not disappoint. I was so uplifted! I still think about it when I have a hard day. Maybe we could have another pastor's wives event.
I still like the idea of a cruise for us blobbers. Then we could get a real tan. The spray tan scares me a little. What if I forget to turn around?
Love the reports from Camp Bigs. Sounds like a wonderful tiring day and I know you wouldn't trade a second of it for anything.
Love ya!
Kristi B.
P.S. If we have a blobber event could we all meet together with you at Starbucks?
Well this sounds like a mighty fun camp!! Today we said our goodbyes as my mom and dad moved to Houston. My grandparents live there and my mom wants to be close to them now since both of them are having health issues. They have both come through with great success - God has shown up as healer to them both. Thank you God!! My heart is sad though b/c my daughter is addicted in love with my mom and my son is the same with my dad. I pray God will preserve their unique and super close relationship through this distance. We will now be 10 hours away instead of 30 minutes. My daughter understands what is happening and voices her saddness but I don't think she really gets it. I love seeing my parents dote over my kids and seeing my kids giggle with delight at seeing my parents. I know distance can make this awkward but I pray time nor space will change this special bond that has been since birth! Anyway, I am glad you are enjoying your grandson - what a delight!! Pray for me to find a babysitter that suits our family. I am a stay-at-home mom and my babysitter has moved away. We are fairly new to our hometown and I need a good, reliable, trustworthy, and Godly young lady to suit our needs.
I hope Amanda is enjoying her time with her husband!!
Many blessings!!
Beloved Beth,
I am sure glad that our Heavenly Father has chosen you to lead so many women into His presence and knowledge of Him. I appreciate your honesty and humility (we should all learn from that). Many blessings to you Sister and may The Lord continue to bless you with gifts that in turn you use to bless so many of us.
Your siesta in Christ
A blogger reunion--That would be so awesome! If not here, then in heaven for sure!! : )
Praying that Camp Bigs is so much fun and creates lots of memories for all of you!
Blessings to you,
Dawn
P.S. If you have a Cracker Barrel in the area, you HAVE to go check out the little sun hats for campers. I saw a cute blue one today that said "Grandma's Camper" that would be perfect for the young Jackson!
OOOOOHHHHH my anxiety levels shot through the roof!!! A Siesta party!!! WOOOOO HOOOO
Count me in...ahem...and Denver happens to be central. ha ha ha ha
And Yep...I used to work for Marily Hickey...I know those ideas are gonna stir a few...lol...I love it.
Hey everyone (forgot a couple of things)
Just wanted to say that Jesus is the ultimate encourager but he definately speaks through Beth!
Also today is my 20th wedding anniversary and I just wanted to praise the Lord publically because my husband and I are definately a testimony of His amazing grace and love!
Hope Amanda and her hubby are having a great time! She's right, you have to have five years before you make it to twenty.
Love to all
Kristi B.
Beth:
Oh it hurts how good God is! You bless me every day. And it drives me absolutely nuts that I don't know you personally. It's the oddest relationship to have someone so important to you not know who the heck you are!
So your idea about creating a special "time" for bloggers means so much to me. And I AM THERE no matter what!!!!!!!
You are so open with us. Doesn't anyone ever take it too far and knock on your door wanting to see the Daniel writing on the den floor?
Bravo on the moderation! Air high-fives! :) You're doing great. I always like to walk with my shoulders a bit higher when I've mastered something technological. Of course them some new gadget comes out that brings me back to reality. I think the "wild idea" sounds like a great one! I'd love to connect with some of the awesome bloggers that comment on this one. Of course the highlight would be finally getting to see you live in person! It's amazing what God can do with a group of uninhibited women and I would love to be a part of it! I'll be praying this idea turns into motion!
I recommend Kansas City, MO. It's central USA.
Thank you Beth, for all you do. I've been reading this site since the "red bird" post, and I am finding it wonderfully uplifting. I really appreciate it. And I'm learning to love my God again. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Melinda Hollis
I would SO be there if you had a special Siesta event! I seriously would love it and love to meet some of the other Siestas here in blogland. Now Beth, just to warn you, people will suggest a cruise...but for those of us who get seasick, a resort would be better! Now, wouldn't that just so totally rock? An extended weekend at a spa resort someplace warm? A meeting or two during the evenings for God to teach us some stuff???
I am somewhat kidding about this, but even if it is in Fargo in the dead of winter, I am there...it would be fantastic!
Now I am feeling kind of ashamed that I have been "blobbing" since the beginning, but have only had the guts to post as "annonymous". I mean I would love to get together with all of these women at a conference, but do I need to start leaving my name on my posts? :-)
My hubby and I were at a Barnes & Noble in tonight. I can't imagine being in the Christian Living isle...look up...and see your face -- for real! I would just keel over with excitement!
I browsed through your latest book and I must say that it was an encouragement! It is on my wish list...hope to have that list fulfilled in the next month or so!
I love your blog and enjoy reading about your little camper! What a blessing he is to your family!
Have a great day, Beth!
Moderator Beth -
Thanks for the camper updates. I think that camp sounds like great fun. Can I come stay too? :)
By the way...there is NOTHING cuter than a toddler in jammies - especially when their hair is all standing up. My toddler is quickly becoming a little boy...sniff sniff. Although he loves to wear jammies that are too short because they were some of his faves. So cute.
So I'm all for your idea that you're going to get in trouble for suggesting. That would be awesome.
PS
I hope that there aren't too many typos - I'm using my hubby's computer and his keyboard makes me crazy!
I hope that camper and counselor, director, and cook get some rest!
Oh and...yay Sonic!!!!
love-
Cynthia in OK
I have been lurking for awhile but finally decided to comment, I could use one of those hot fudge sundaes and the talk that comes with it.
Simona
Mama Beth, you do wonders for my heart and attitude.
Yes, my favorite Beth, I believe with all my heart you bleed and bruise. God wouldn't have it any other way or you wouldn't be very good at serving His glorious purposes to minister to others who do. I have loved getting to know you better through this blog and I know you are having a terrific time with Jackson this week. Keep running the race, taking time to rest and spray on fake tan, and keep bringing God's truth to us. Keep on being a living example with me of what God does with the unworthy, the broken, the wretched. You're awesome and I love you. And, by the way, years ago you were the one who taught me to "love" the Lord. Thank you.
I am brand new to this blog and I love it! What a breath of fresh air to read the comments and know what is going on with you, dear Beth. Camp Biggs sounds like my kind of camp! Ice Cream is my favorite food. You have me wanting to try a spray on tan...
Hey Siesta Beth (aka, Camp Director)- So glad to read that you had a GREAT day with the little Camper. I also think you have a GREAT idea about the bloggers meeting somewhere in 2008. I will start praying that the Lord will reveal to you whether He would have such an event take place. I also understand what you're saying about not being jealous of you/family. Our Lord Jesus is the ONLY one that deserves to be put on a pedestal and adored/praised. Only by His grace was I liberated from my pit some twenty years ago. I love Him so and I,like you, love being in love with Him. I look forward to more little Camper stories. I love you from Lathrop, MO.
I can't think of anything more fun than a "siesta meet-n-greet" at an LPM Conference. HOW MUCH FUN WOULD THAT BE!! I'll try not to get my hopes up, however. How wonderful would it be to be gathered with a group of like-minded, Jesus loving women that we already have such a neat connection with...it would be like pages of a book coming to life!
On a side note, aren't spray tans the BEST? They really are so natural, and they don't smell like self-tanners do! I was sprayed for the first time before my sister's wedding & just LOVED it! Now I'm hooked.
Also, I am just loving reading your stories from "Camp Bigs"....I laugh when I read them, b/c you all sound so much like my family! I have a 2 yr old baby boy. It is so wonderful to have someone who adores your child as much as you do! My parents have flipped over the little fellow! Melissa reminds me so much of my sister as well! We are the same ages as your girls, and I can completely relate to all the stories. My sis is hands-down the favorite aunt...she's so much fun! There is such a wonderful dynamic between moms & their girls...we keep the phone line hoppin'...so much fun!
Looking forward to more camp stories!
Love,
Sarah, TN
Mrs Beth!
(Pause. Okay. I look like the biggest goof grinning and laughing here in my room to no one but my computer.)
Y-E-STINKIN'-S to your idea. Sign me up! Abby and I were the crazy young siestas that decided to meet at Boone b/c God had so connected our spiritual hearts prior to the event. We just hugged like long lost friends when we ran into other siestas there! If you ONLY knew the fruit of this blog...GIRL!
And from a fellow book nerd, I wish too that I could share a hot fudge sundae with you :)
Going to my Father's camp :)
Love you
Oh my...a blog get together....HOW MUCH FUN!! The ladies in my Saturday morning Bible Study already think I am crazy because I talk about you like we are BFF's! A couple weeks ago I said something about Melissa coming on staff at LPM like we were old friends and had just gotten off the phone! I have an 8 month old who is going to Camp NANA's and Camp MIMI's next week while I attend youth camp with my husband. They are splitting the week because I could not ask one grandmother and not the other!
Beth,
Who would have thought YOU would have time to moderate, let alone READ these comments lol.
I gotta mention somethingelse from the Secret Sister Reveal.
The girl who had my name said this, " My secret sister, likes the beach, writing, and Beth Moore."
My Pastor's wife looks right at me, " Gee, I wonder who that could be."
LOL. I don't know what it is, I can rememebr listening to Joyce Meyer when I was younger, and I tried to listen to her,
but I didn't follow.( thank ADD.)
Ever since I did your study " Jesus, the one and only." I have been hooked, I rememebr looking at the screen listening, saying, " Oh my God, she is just like me!" Talks alot, writes alot, and goes in circles when she talks lol.
What about your girls, I hear a lot from you of how they were as children, but what about them as adults? Amanda is my age, and married with a child, I would imagine she is very mature-quiet personality, and Melissa is probably more like your personality? Its' just a guess.
I understand what you say about the response to a comment on being jealous; You are SO right,
I will add that in the bible it didn't say all things would be perfect, he said all things are possible ....big difference!
I would LOVE to see one of your conferences, whats next year look like?
Be Blessed:)

Oh my gosh! I was just thinking today that I wished sometime after a conference when so many people leave and there are still some of us that stay until the very end, how cool it would be if you came back out and could visit with those that are left. I guess I was thinking about how much fun we'd all have laughing and talking...then you wrote that interesting idea on the blog. I can't wait to get your 2008 schedule. I attend a conference every year and I think you're right, if we had enough time to save and plan, so many of us could work it out. I'm so excited and I'm in for sure!!!!! It's a great idea and one that I know will work out.
Glad you and "Camper" are still having fun-filled days together.
God bless you and yours!
GIRL. You name the blog conference, and I'm there. Oh my goodness I just got chills! I want to bring all you gals a present!!! Guess I had better save up for real.
Thanks for sharing camp with us. :) And yes, Jesus is EVERYTHING. :D Isn't He the most fun to love?!!!
Ok Beth-now that this is my 3rd time trying to blog and i never see my comment posted...I'm beginning to wonder if I am Blog-deficient...is it me??? I am going to say Probably it is definitly me! I try to follow directions but sometimes I like to skip a step here and there...ok so now you have gathered that you should never taste my cooking...Anyway, I like to pretend my comments are so witty that they are set aside so as not to make the other bloggers feel challenged :) HA! Yeah right! Well, sign me up for the blogger's section at one of your events, because if these girls connect with you then for sure we all are connected and should and will totally "get each other"...I love it when you speak to the idea of living life in a messy way- I really try so hard with my 3 boys and my husband and all of the trials that have come my way...but I always feel like I hold myself accountable to Mary--Seriouusly- I am no Mary- there was only one...but I struggle everyday to accept me for me and try not to condemn my sinful choices of staying up too late, eating ice cream when I shouldn't and choosing to ignore the best choices overall...sounds like I need a word...as long as I keep searching for that word right? Thanks Beth for everything especially your attitude...pray mine improves! Love you, SHELL
I'm saying this to you in all seriousness: you have hit on a HUGE idea. HUGE. I won't crowd the comments with all the reasons why I think so - but next week I'll email the sweet siesta who is beachside right now and explain.
And I don't know if y'all have Publix grocery stores in Texas, but guess what they have on sale this week? Blue Bell ice cream half-gallons - $3.50 each. THREE FIFTY.
Now if that doesn't make you raise your hands in the middle of the frozen food aisle and shout HALLELUJAH, I don't know what will.
Beth-
You know who I am the happiest for this week? That man of yours! I thought about how he must be feeling with that extra ounce of testosterone in the Moore home. After living with his 3 favorite girls (whom I know he adores)...surely the extra testosterone is an unexplainable treat! You be sure and tell him to enjoy every minute of it for me!
LOL! Well, if you have this blogger gathering in Indy, I'll host y'all in my backyard (we could fit, what, 30 sleeping bags or so?)
Seriously, sounds like a neat plan. I'll be curious to hear more.
Blessings,
~Toni~
That tan sounds like a good idea! I'm very white, Honky white! LOL! I'm also not a fan of skin cancer, or getting hot. So no sun tanning for me! :) I might have to check out this spray tan.
Sounds like a great time at camp! My dd is going to Camp fun at my parents house next week! My other dd will be lonely, but we'll have to keep her busy. :)
God Bless!
M
Oh Beth. I couldn't believe what I was reading. You just made some of our dreams come true, to think of meeting, laughing, praying and singing together...and at the perfect destination (for us siestas, that is), one of your conferences. That we could actually sit in a section together...now, if this isn't God's perfect plan, I just can't imagine what is. Yes, it's just a dream right now (be gentle with her, dear ones at LPM), but imagine if all of us are praying up a storm about it. Jesus might just find a way to let us glorify Him in this incredible way. I am in! God bless you, Beth, for thinking of it, and God love you for throwing it out there.
xoxo
Chris

We are all on this journey together as we "carry the light"
You are soooo fun! Even in my darkest moods, I can depend on you to lift me up, both emotionally and before the Father!! It is easy to get jealous over how it seems that your family is together..but then I think of all the things that you have gone through and how sometimes you must feel so bogged down with the cares of all the women who talk to you and write you! Just know we do appreciate all that you do and pray for you I love you and thank you
Delilah
I would be thrilled to attend the camp. I am also saving for my cruise next May. It leaves out of Miami. I might be able to get a couple of concerts under my belt on the cruise. We are expecting: Matthew West, Newsong, Tobey Mack, Leeland and several other christian artists. This past year Salvador and Nicole C. Mullen were my favs.
I look forward to your comments each day. As a grandparent (nana) to three now I know exactly how much your heart grows with each one. I got to spend the day with my middle one, Carter, yesterday as he had swollen eyes from a bug bite. His grandpa (bumpa) has officially nicknamed him "Rocky". Praise the Lord for you Beth and all the gifts he has given you. I'm currently studying Fruits of the Spirit and you continue to refresh and enhance my faith each day! Love, DQ Nana
Hi there sweet Beth,
Guess what? We actually have something else in common... I am literally in training this week at a Bible camp up near where I live, to be their Craft Shop director.
The best part, of course, is that I finally am going to be able to talk to kids about my best friend of all time [Jesus, of course]for the first time in my teaching career since my salvation, even if it is only for a short "season of time" while at camp.
I truly feel that He was the One who placed me here, in what I sort of consider to be a "semi-promised land" kind of atmosphere where I am concerned, at least for a couple of months, anyways. Kids will start arriving this coming Sunday afternoon...
I'm sure that it is going to be loads of fun, but I'm still really nervous about it, so I guess it may actually mean that I was right about this being a "calling" given to me from the Lord, huh ? There are all these 18-19 year old cabin counselors surrounding me here, then there's little ole me at the age of thirty-nine and three quarters, feeling led to by God to come teach at Bible camp for 9 whole weeks ... Hehe.
But, I also know that where God "calls", He also equips to complete the work in order to glorify our Heavenly Father ...
And, I've got Habakkuk 3:19 [in the Amplified version, of course] posted right next to my bed here at camp, so that I will not forget that He is the One who works through me ... Hallelujah, Jesus!
I pray that we will enjoy our time here at this small camp as much as it sounds like you are having down there. =)
----------------------------
By the way, I just "love" your idea about scheduling a Living Proof Live Event like that, especially if it could be somewhere near me, by chance. The
LPL that was in Milwaukee in 2005 sold out so fast that I couldn't get a ticket, so, my dear teacher, I think that it is obvious that people up here are ravenously
"hungry" to hear/learn His Word
up in this neck of the woods, too.
I've really missed learning His Word through your sweet
"vessel" since I left Houston in June 2004, but am looking forward to this opportunity greatly, too.
And, trust me, I understand that you are "just a fellow sojourner" with us, just from my God-chosen moments in time that I got to spend in your live studies at HFBC, and in SS class with you down there.
May God bless you greatly this summer! And, please know that you and your precious family are in my prayers, my dear "big sister" [in Christ, of course] on a regular basis, even in between LPM E-mailings.
-------------------------------
Oh, and by the way, Happy Birthday, a few days early [as I seem to recall that it will take place on June 16, whether or not you want it to - hehe] And, don't you fret about it for even a moment, as I know that it is through His will that you write to us on here once in a while, and that He chooses to continue to allow you to write Bible studies for us to enjoy and learn from.
I pray that you will have a wonderful day !
In Christ's mighty Love,
Jennifer O.
Southern Wisconsin
I vote for Colorado....it is very beautiful here and so very worth the trip. But if I could get my four ducks in a row, I think I'd be happy to travel anywhere for such fun time and such a meaty time in the Word. I think I'd pay and save for that!
By the way, I've always seen you as a fellow sojourner, never one on a pedestal...more like a really great sister, who cares anough to talk about the important things as well as make you laugh your head off. A favored Sister are you! Enjoy Jackson...enjoy this time! It may have to be a yearly event!
Love,
holly
Beth,
I loved your post today and hope the LPM Live staff will work out a time and place for us blog siestas to meet next year. I am so "there" Lord willing. Camp Bigs sounds like a wonderful make believe world for "The Camper" It brings to mind all the wonderful memories of spending time with my Grandma when I was young. My sisters still say "Grandma loved you best. You are so spoiled" and I smile and say "yes, and I still am". So Keep making all those beautiful memories telling him of Jesus' love and yours.
I love you and your family

:) I love catching up on all your family postings! I teach myself a Vintage (55 years +) Sunday school class and am deep in the books and studying the WORD. I remember something Beth said once, if you teach and worry how much you will make... hmmm... :) Well I taught my first class and I bought $179.00 worth of books on "Christ in the Feast of Tabernacles" so that I could entice students to take my class. So there you go Beth -$179.00 and counting! I think I learned far more than I could have ever taught... God is such a blessing and you are too Miss Beth!!! I cannot wait for your next study.
Kimberly from CA
That would be a lot of fun to meet the other siestas!! There's so many times that I'll read a comment and think I've been there! or she sounds like someone I'd have a lot in common with. And you guys always bless me! This blog is a lot of fun!
Your Siesta in Him,
Kathleen
p/s To anonymous sister with the heavy heart I am praying for you, your daughter and granddaughter.
p/s/s I'll try not to keep posting twice!
i am new to this blogging stuff so i hope i do this right....you make grandmothering sound wonderful now i cant wait...it has just dawned on me how wonderful it is that God has placed me in the teaching profession....i will have summers off to have camp granny. how i ended up as a teacher is a miracle from God in itself but He continues to reveal to me how he has provided for me in ways i never could have imagined. living the delivered life brings new joys each day...have fun the rest of the week with your grandcamper...
held by my Jesus, mjf
Oh it would be so much fun!!! I have enjoyed reading the blog...I laugh, pray, laugh more...
Beth, I can so relate to your Camp Bigs...we have been having our own version here with our grandchildren. It is the most fun!!!
I know I enjoyed my children when they were growing up, but why do I so much more enjoy watching my grandchildren??? I find myself completly enraptured with the smallest things they do and say...they don't even have to say anything, I just love watching their little faces. They fascinate me as I watch them learn and change.
Actually, I also enjoy watching my grown children as they parent their children and walk their walks with the Lord. They are such a delight and joy to my heart.
Often I think of how the Lord regards us as his children, and now I seem to have a deeper understanding of how he delights in us...because I know if I feel this way toward my children and grandchildren, just how much more must he be feeling toward us.
Hope to hear more about Camp Bigs and "lil camper"...
Nana Mary
Beth, your idea sounds wonderful. Here's another one. At the Boone conference, I was so burdened that everyone looked just like me- like they just stepped out of Sunday School. I guess the burden came because I KNOW BOONE- some of the needs, strongholds, addicted, etc. The thought came to me- those people may never come on their own, or be able to buy a ticket- so why don't we GO GET THEM? Why not reserve seats of honor for the homeless, or women's shelters, or homes for the addicted, and love on them with the Word and our applause? Or why not give all we "just alike" girls a chance to minister to them by having groups sponser the tickets for a shelter, or whatever? And sponsor coupons for free books? And have a designated area for sponsors to meet the beloved ones they sponsored? And have a donatiopn area for local shelters- put in Bibles, books, blankets, food, whatever needs are known?
I don't know how huge that would be- BUT I KNOW WE HAVE A HUGE GOD who wants to minister to us, and the least of these...so , there's my thoughts.
Thanks for your real love for the Lord- He's using it mightily in these last days.
In Him,
Cynthia Shomaker
Beth:
I love reading your comments each day. It always makes me smile. To see the work that God is doing in your ministry and the lives that are changed is no less than miraculous. Jealousy doesn't even enter the picture.
It is a blessing for me to be able to share your teachings with my wife and best freind. In fact, I get to give my best freind away at her wedding on Saturday. I am so honered to be able to do that for her.
Life is a journey of up's and down's. God uses it all for his good.
Yes, you are touching men's lives as well.
God Bless.
Well, Saturday’s the big day, and I’m having a brownie in your honor! What a fun week to celebrate with your family! I love reading the details and am making my own list of ways to win Best Grandma of the year, all in good time, after the kids get married for heaven’s sake. Happy Jubilee birthday—I so celebrate you! Love you, Annette
yes, yes! i think it would be a fantastic idea! wholeheartedly,

So glad Camp Bigs is such a success! If you have any leftover energy, we might all start signing our little ones up! Enjoy your week with that precious little man!
Too, too fun! What a blessing! Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!
Siestas get-togethers
What if, on your site you could connect siestas? What if there was a little space women could check in and see where others would be? (Sorted by state and city)... You could have monthly, bi-monthly, or annually siesta meetings right in the town we are in... Meet at a cafe, mall or other open location and just have a blast and get to know each other...??? Just thoughts... But hey, that’s how the internet got started... :-)))
Thanks for the little break you give us all and for allowing us to hang out...
Heidi <><
Oh my HEAVENS, how fun would a blogger meet-up at LPL be?! I would love to see that come to fruition!! May I suggest Austin as a central location? (Or wait, maybe Austin is just central to us Texans. And maybe that was a little of my selfish Babylon mentality seeping through . . . !)
Loving the Camp Bigs updates. What delights. Thanks for the personal note at the end, too. I think that's why so many people loved your PMS entry - such transparent insight into the life of a fellow sojourner. Thanks for keeping it real. ;)
Thanks for sharing with us. Hope you guys have another great day!
I bet the new tan looks great!
Blessings!
Donna
Camp sounds like a blast! I'm so glad you are able to spend all this time with Jackson. I will be seeing in Cleveland. I'm so very excited! I can't wait to get a Word! I'm finding truth in what you said about needing to get down on my face before the Lord to see a breakthrough. Have a wonderful day!
Beth...
If any of the staff does read the blog, they may ahve lost sleep last night thinking how to execute your idea! (grins for us... moans for them!) YOU are a joy to us... since we have ALL been pit dwellers and shared the same past address! Glory to Him who relocated me!
Here is a specific question... sorry, but I could not help it... how do the dogs handle Mr. Camper???
Just LOVE you Beth and cover you and Keith in prayers!!!
Beth,
I'm new to the blog and love hearing your funny stories! My girlfriends and I just finished the Fruit of the Spirit study. WOW! I wake up in the morning with a new outlook on my attitude and ready to take on the day. Thank you for being faithful to God and writing such great studies.
Carrie
I have been keeping up on this blog but have never commented before. I had to today because I wanted to say that I really get a kick out of hearing this side of you, Beth. It's good to remember you are a REAL person and not superwoman. Thank you for being so available to us women and for setting a clear example of what we, too, can have with Jesus. I know I have found it motivating!!
Sounds like an awesome idea to me! I do vote that the blogger getaway should include a trip to the mall! ha! What else are friends for but for shopping together!
Thanks for a fresh spot in my day. I work full time and have 4 small children (including 3 yr old twins). So the 2 minute audiocast and the blog are sometimes my only chance to get a little time with the Word and encouragement. That is other than being at the church every other day!
My dear babysitter is finding out today if her lung cancer has returned. Say a little prayer for her!
Have fun at camp! Hoping to send 2 of mine to Mamaw camp this summer!
Mary from upstate SC
Beth, what a great idea to have a time and place set aside for bloggers/siesta's. I do wonder who everyone is....have it in Arkansas....our home!
I love how you shared your thought...just a thought....that's what I do...I get ideas/thoughts and say what do you think....I thought is was just strnge me! Ha!
Tell us about this spray on tan...how does it work...how often...I'm still using tanning beds and I know I shouldn't....
When is your 2008 schedule going to be released?
Have fun at camp!
Good Morning Campers!!
After our Pledge to the Christian Flag we will sing our new version of the "Hokey Pokey".
Chorus:
"You give your heart to Jesus and He'll turn your life around! That's what it all about."
And let's don't forget "Father Abraham" and all his jazz. Or "I Just want to be a Sheep".
"Blog-Land" may just turn into Camp Blog.
Have a wonder-filled day.............ladies(oh Siestas)
I just wanted to let you know that this morning during my very early quiet time,(God woke me up at 5:30 am, and it's SUMMER for goodness sakes!) I was overwhelmed with gratitude that my path has crossed with yours(7 bible studies, one event, life today recordings) Your encouragement has brought me to a place where I LOVE my time with the Lord - I can't WAIT to see what He will tell me each morning. Even with 3 small children, the early morning studies have been so crucial to my day, even more important than my COFFEE! Thank you, Beth. Praise you Jesus!
You know, one thing my mom told me once was that when she was little while she looked forward to having children, she really looked forward to being a grammy. Let me just say that while she is a great mom, she is a spectacular grammy. She and Papa really know what they are doing. I admit, I think I feel the same way. I don't have either once yet, but being a grammy sounds like a lot of fun. I can't wait to earn that job through having my own wee ones (leterally, my husband and I are working towards that. Many prayers needed.)
My first comment here at the LPM blog...just wanted to say real quick that I am thoroughly enjoying reading this blog. I feel like you are a dear friend to me, someone who is very real, even though you have no idea who I am! :) Enjoy the rest of Camp with your little Camper! Hugs!
Dear Beth,
What great fun to hear of your adventures at Camp Bigs! I'm getting a little extra time with my grandbabies (they think they're too big to be called that) this summer too and I love getting to do the things that Mom and Dad just don't get to. Thanks for sharing with us.
Janis
Beth,
You are such an encouragement to all of the "camp directors" out here. We all need to hear that Jesus is the only way. So glad that you are having fun with your camper. It is such a joy to see the happiness in a child. What a wonderful gift from God. I know that I am enjoying my wonderful gifts watching them enjoy the summer. The whole idea of siesta bloggers meeting is a great idea and if it is what God desires he will open the doors. Sounds like so much fun. God bless you and your family.
Beth, You crack me up! You are a firecracker and your passion for Christ is so obvious. Thank you for your dedication of bringing the word to women everywhere. I have learned so much from your studies. Your camp sounds like so much fun. I bet you don't have to say "lights out" at the end of the day. You keep them buisy. Go girl.
Yeah baby - blogging sisters!!!!!! I just moved about 6 months ago to my husband's home town, but we have been gone from here almost 15 years. So now we are living here and it is my blogging sisters that have helped me the most with the adjustments.
Oh yes, please, let's do that - a get together!!! I will hold my breath!
Great thinking!!!
What a great idea---count me in!
I'm so proud of you for doing all these moderations!! Makes ya love Amanda that much more doesn't it? teehee
Let me tell you that if this wild idea of yours becomes a reality (I can see your staff cringing already haha) I AM IN!! I'll be sure and bring my BMG's (Beth Moore Girls) with me. We talk about you like you're right here with us. In fact, when we read the news about your sweet Daddy we all called each other and had a nice cry and prayer for you! So, we'll GLADLY come be part of the Siesta section!!
Give that Jackson an extra hug and tell him the Siesta's are prayin' for him too!
Beth,
Thank you for being obident to the Lord. It means so much to me to hear the teachings the Lord brings through you. I too am a first time grandma - Brayden was bron on Mothers Day - yes, I was there and even held a leg in the birthing process - then I had to sit for a while....smile. I appreciate you and your wonderful team. Shalom
I'm ready for a 2008 conference with LPM! I would love to meet my Blogger Friends!!!
It seems Camp Bigs is having way too much fun! How do we sign up next year?! Just Joking! Have fun, Campers!
Dear Beth and friends,
Just a note to ask for prayer for Billy Graham and his family. His wonderful wife, Ruth (a major role model for me) is close to going home to be with the Lord. Let's pray God would comfort them with His love and His peace in an amazing way. And please Lord - to even now be raising up more giants of the faith for this generation. We need them!
Wow, that DOES sound fun! I need to start saving now!
Apparently in Virginia, we're seriously deprived. What IS this Blue Bell ice cream I keep hearing about? It must be heavenly!
Ok, so this is my first time to leave a comment. I just tried to leave one and I'm not sure what happened to it. Maybe they will both show up, who knows! Anyway, basically what I said is that I'm very thankful for all of you bloggers! I get on here everyday and the Lord has used so many of you to encourage me! He knows just what we need when we need it and often times for me its a story or a memory shared by one of you. So thanks for being open and vulnerable about your struggles and thank you for praising God for your victories!
Beth,
I will pray and ask the Lord to reveal to you and give you confirmation about your wild blogger idea.
Reading about your camper and your camp activities brings warm memories to my mind about attending day camp and camps in my youth.
Dear Siesta, I am so looking forward the the Esther study and what the Lord will reveal to us in the study.
Have a blessed day.
Annette
Dear Beth!
I am a 25 year old girl living in Montréal, Québec in Canada and I am working in a French Baptist Seminary since 4 years. Québec is a great mission field and we do not have many resources in our own language (which is French!). Many books are translated, but I long for my people to come up with their own stuff (even though I love reading English book written by God’s people!)
I have been reading your blog for some weeks now and I am very blessed by it! I also listened to some of your conferences and I’m now reading your book “Jesus, the One and Only”. I love your attitude toward people and your burden for the ministry with women. I also like the idea of a blog where people can share and learn to know each other better.
I’m more used to read then to write in English, so forgive my mistakes!
I just wanted to introduce myself here!
May the Lord bless you all!
Beth, I think that is a great idea!! I would love to be able to meet these other blogger's face to face!! I wonder if we would all like eachother as much in real person??!!!! =) hee hee!
Sounds like camp is going well, I'm sure Amanda is pleased!!! You are such a sweet and inspiring Momma!!! Thank you!!
Thank you so much Beth for being so real. I have been struggling with trying to draw nearer and nearer to Jesus, and as I do, my sin stands out more and more in the light of His glory. Sometimes it seems as though it's depths are so great that it's limitless. I was asking Him just this morning, 'shouldn't this sin thing be going away?', 'weren't we going to cast down strongholds?'. Yes, we are. Right now I just can't see past it and somehow thought that 'those righteous people' don't deal with struggles anymore. So, thank you for being real with me this morning. There is hope in Jesus!
Well, I'm sure I speak for all blog siesta's, we're there!! My heart is already there. :) Let's all start praying this one through.
Congrat's on your success with the comment moderation!! I'm impressed. (Secrectly, I still struggle typing in those silly word verifications, please don't tell anyone! Of course I still put my debit card in backwards at the gas station too.)
Lovely Beth, I'm thanking the Lord for you, for the writing talent He has poured out through you and for your continual offer of the glory to Him. Certainly, you are joy to all of blog-siestas and to our Lord! I love you.
For some crazy, unknown reason, I'm also trying to figure out the Camp name. I was thinking "Babysitting Is Grandparent Superlative" or "Back In Grandparent Splendor" or "Bliss Is Grandson's Stay", but that leaves out Melissa. Maybe "Beth Is Granny Supreme!!" but that leaves out both Keith and Melissa. Hmmmm...I do hope you'll let us in on the mystery.
Have a beautiful day!
DL in NC
Beth, thank you for your authenticity! I can really relate with you now!!! Tell me some ideas for your camping!?! I like the Barnes and Noble one! I have 4 of my own. One question though, if you ever remember to answer it, thats ok, how do you connect and be authentic in a very disconnected, fake, culture? God Bless you as you minister to others!!!!!
Sweet Beth,
You are a whirlwind with your incredible energy! Jackson is blessed to have you for a grandmother and Camp Director! Little ones are so amazingly adorable at this age...wanting to be cuddled and we want to cuddle them, too. Mutual admiration society!
Your idea is fabulous for a Living Proof Live event so all of us bloggers could meet. Can't you just hear the comments: "Oh, I thought you were much older than you are!" or "You are sssooo young! I wish there had been a Beth Moore doing Bible Studies when I was young!" or "You are from where? Please speak slower, I can't understand Southernese." or "Praise God you got here! I've been dying to meet you." or "I've prayed so hard for you. Are you well now? Are things better for you?" or "Your last name is what? Well, do you know ---? She is your sister's sister-in-law? Really? Well she is my first-cousin-once-removed, so I guess we are related!!!"
I hope you can pull this off. Think about Charleston, SC for a meeting place. Air Tran now flies here and it is cheap! We have the Coliseum (14,000)....is that big enough?
Have a wonderful rest of the week at Camp Bigs (thanks for clearing up the name). Hope you are having birthday cake every day.... birthdays (at our age) are supposed to last at least for a week of celebration! I love you lots, Siesta!
Beth! Glad you got that tan! :)
Hey, how about Indianapolis for a meeting place? You know our motto is "The Crossroads of America"
Hubby and I are pricing items for a tag sale tomorrow. I needed a break - so I came to computer to catch up on Camp Bigs and get a refreshment from the Lord.
Blessings to all the Siestas here!
Kristen
Oh, sweet dear Beth, if only more employers could be as gracious at loving their staff as you are about loving the crew at LPM! Yes, it would be a blast to put a name with the faces of those we have corresponded with through this wonderfully fun, spiritually uplifting blog! Isn't God so gracious to give you another avenue in which to reach his children?! I, along with several in my bible studies, would love for you to expound on the ways that God has mercifully brought you out of the pits. We have an inkling that "Get Out of That Pit" was just the beginning of things to come! You stated, "Darling Ones, never ever go to the wasted energy of feeling jealous over me or my family." Let us all remember that we too can be set free by the Deliverer Himself and that no other can free us but Him. Run to His word, search His heart, know His ways and know that those are His deepest desires for us. Thank you, Beth, for always directing our minds and hearts back to the true King-our Precious Lord and Savior!
OK so I read your blog but haven't commented til now - I don't want to be left out of the 2008 event :)
We've been best friends since 1991 in WPB, FL --You are the BEST teacher I have ever had--your passion is contagious and I have caught it!--love you Beth--thanks for reminding us of your humanity too!
I love this blog!
I am a ordained children's pastor and the only female pastor in my community. Between spending most of my time with children and being the only female pastor it can be isolating. This is not, however, a serious complaint. I am so blessed, one because I can not imagine a more loving or respectful group to work with and two because I can send my congregation to time out if they throw a tantrum. But I do feel like the only girl on the baseball team. So in the mornings I close the door to my office and meet with the Siestas that get me. By the way I have 42 little campers (only 3 are biological)that I could just eat up, if not for the punch and cookies.
Beth,
Thank you so much for your reminder to "camp with your Father". I am an Associate Pastor's wife and stay at home mom. We have just moved to Cape Coral Florida, 16 hours away from family and friends. I have two kids age 9 and a little guy 20 months old. With getting a house set up and taking care of the kids I am finding it difficult to spend time with the Father as I should. I have done all of your Bible studies and you have been a driving influence and mentor for my study of God's word. Thanks again for your encouragement. have fun at camp!
I love your idea! I am in if God brings it together!
I got this in an email today, and it cracked me up:
After putting her grandchildren to bed, a grandmother changed into old slacks and a droopy blouse and proceeded to wash her hair. As she heard the children getting more and more rambunctious, her patience grew thin.
At last she threw a towel around her head and stormed into their room, putting them back to bed with stern warnings. As she left the room, she heard the three-year-old say with a trembling voice, "Who was THAT?"
I'm there with you sister! You name the place, hopefully in the great majestic mountains, and we'll have a great reunion with sister we've never meet yet share a deep bond of love for our fabulous Lord Jesus....Oh you got me going girl.
Your Okie Sis,
All I have to say is that you ALWAYS make me smile and usually make me cry, too - happy tears, though. Tears that remind me of how GOOD and POWERFUL and PERSONAL our great God is. I love you, Beth. I love you, Jesus!
It sounds like Camp Bigs is going great. Thank you so much for sharing your life with us. I was wondering how Camp Cook and Counsulor Melissa were doing?
We need pictures, the siestas love pictures.
Thank you so much for sharing your family and being honest about being in a family. I think I tend to believe any grass, including weeds, is greener on the other side of my fence and if I could just get over that fence everything would be so much better. I know that's not true, and I appreciate you gently reminding me of that. I was just telling a friend yesterday morning that I wished I could be like you in that even though you've had a "tough time of it" in many ways, you don't let it disturb you day to day and I wished I knew how to do that. I'm sure things do try to stir up within you and raise its ugly head from time to time and so I just remind myself of that and say if she can go to Jesus and keep dealing with things as they come, perhaps I can too. Thank you so much for encouraging me and sharing your life with so many of us who truly love Jesus too.
Oh, Beth, it is so refreshing to come and visit here each day and read about Camp Bigs, as well as what is happening in LPM land :) I don't comment often, just because I know you get hundreds of comments each day, and I feel like my comments are just mundane compared to some of the others. But Beth, I have to tell you, seeing your passion for Christ and studying with you through God's word at my weekly bible studies (I am currently working on Beloved Disciple...this is my 8th Beth Moore study)....anyhow, seeing your passion has shown me that God can love even me....I come from such an entrenchment in sin and it took several years after being saved to break the cycles of lifelong sin (and I still sometimes struggle with this) that I have doubted that God could love me through even one more thing. For sometime after being married, each time the Lord blessed us in anyway, I attributed it to my husband and his "great faith" because I truly didn't believe that God could love me enough because of my past sin to bless me. God did show me after the birth of our first child (14 1/2 years ago) that He did love me and was blessing me, but those ugly thoughts still went through my head and heart. It wasn't until I did the Breaking Free study in 2005 (my 2nd ever Beth Moore study) that I saw my self-doubt for what it was....Satan's attacks! I now am FREE and recognize those niggles as what they are...Satan! It is such a blessing to be studying God's word with you each week! And I do feel as though you are a long lost big sister...and I can't wait to meet you in Glory! :)
I am looking forward to another Living Proof Live event, and even though there is no way I could travel out of state for such an event without a financial miracle (which I know God CAN provide, but just don't see it right now), I am praying that you will come back to Fresno, CA again sometime in the near future. We were so blessed to have you here in December 2005....and most of our group from our church have bought Travis' CD just for the song that you had him write for our LPL event! :)
Love and many hugs from your lil' sis in CA :)
In Him,
Lori

Hi Beth!
Speaking of 2008 Living Proof Live events... when will the schedule be out???? We are eager to plan to praise the Lord with you.
Minds hungry for the Word - want to know!
A special camp time would be so great! Finding a way to pull it off would be really great! But, even if we never have a camp time, we really do have camp time, just like you said! And what a blessing it is to get in our Bibles and find Jesus and the blessing that so freely waits for us there! We are all really called out, only we can't see it! Just like you said Beth, we are all real people and we bruise and bleed and the only difference is that we don't let that bruising and bleeding keep us from our AWESOME SAVIOR! Praise Him! I hope you have a great day at 'Camp Bigs' again today. What a great thing, to spend time with your little guy and watch him grow...
Beth, You sound alot like my Nanny! She was a really young grandmother, like yourself and I was the oldest grandkid too! We have the best relationship, even though I am 26 and have moved a couple of hours away. I stay with them everytime I go home and she always has some new recipe for me to try. She and my Nandaddy are in their 70s and have been married for 52 years but they are still really active. He still rides all the new rides and roller coasters at Dollywood!! They are at every event, small or large, that any of their 7 grandkids are involved in. My grandfather was raised in a Nazarene pastor's home but didn't accept Jesus until his mother passed away. I can remember him getting saved and watching him be baptized. I think that I was around 13 or 14 then. They have been such role models for me and my family. I am sure that Jackson will feel the same about you and Keith. He will remember these times that you set aside to spend with him. I can remember all the camping trips that my grandparents took me and all my cousins on. We would have 9 people in a motorhome built for 4-6 and spend a week together. Times like that bond you together let me tell you!! But it was great and I will always treasure them. I hope that Camp Bigs can become a regular thing!
And I would love to get together with any of the Siestas!! I have loved reading the comments by all involved!! And I have shown a lot of my friends the blog and now they read it constantly too! Is there anyway we could set up way to chat with each other? That would be awesome!! Oh the fun that we would have!!
I hope that you have a great day with your camper!! What is the craft and snack of the day? ;)
Love ya, Miss Beth!
Nikki
Hey Beth ~
I was telling my family about your birthday and how old you're going to be. (I won't say. I'll let you tell if you want to). Well, my oldest, who's 11, said "BETH MOORE IS GOING TO BE ___? She doesn't look like it. She looks like she's in her thirties or something." I told her I'd tell you she said so. I said that you'd love hearing it.
Well, gotta go work-out now! yuk! I HATE WORKING OUT! Sometimes I listen to you to make the time go by faster.
Oh yeah. I wanted to tell you that I have been trying to figure out what the comment you made about having something that you can finally moderate and why there's a reason your last name is Moore for last two days. Since I saw it I've been thinking of little else. Well, this morning in my bed, your friend, "blonder than she DOESN'T have to pay to be", (God saw it fit to give me blond hair already. I PROMISE you I act blonder than you.), FINALLY GOT IT! (That is a run-on sentence if I ever saw one.) DUH! I need some serious help.
love you siesta !
Kristi
Beth,
In response to your P.S. on the blog. I have not read the blog you responded to but I just wanted to say that I do not think I have ever been jealous of your family, but I have to admit maybe the relationship with are Father. I just want to tell you that you have been a great encouragement to me; I had never really study the Bible until I done one of your Bible Studies. You have taught me so much over the years. I had never thought about certain things until I would her you teaching the Word. One that really hit me hard was do I really know him, I want to know him. I could list many things but I know you are busy. That you so much for allowing God to use you to reach so many Great will be your reward. Just to let you know I love to read to I have already read Get out of the Pit. I did not realize that it had some stuff at the back so I am going to do it again. I think I have been throne in jumped in and pushed in and I have tunnels from one to the other. (If that is possible). I am a single mom with three kids and it is really hard but I also know God will get me through it. I am also looking forward to reading Angela Thomas books My Single Mom’s Life. I have done some of her Bible Studies to. I have so many books I want to read that you have written. I am sorry I went on and on.
I just wanted you to that I love you and the God you represent. Thank you for sharing your life with us. I would love to sit with you and have an Ice Cream and talk about are Father. Your are a True Blessing to me.
Please do not post this blog if possible this is just a note for you.
Love your Siesta,
Cindi
Beth,
This is my first time writing on the blog. I just discovered it a couple of weeks ago and now find that I so look forward to reading yours and Amanda's blog entries. I have been taking your bible studies for the last 8 years in church and online, read your books, and watch you on Life Today. I will have to tell you that the story about "Lesson with a Hairbrush" in Further Still touched my heart immensely. My heart was so full at the end of it. I have shared it with so many of my friends. I've done a couple of your studies in my home and will begin a new one this fall for some of my friends who've never taken your studies before. Boy, are they in for a treat!! When I first did Breaking Free 6 years ago, it absolutely helped set me free. My life, expectations, and the way I look at myself all began to change for the better as a result of that study. I did get to see you for the first time in Boone, NC last month. It was awesome! But as much as I enjoy the studies, books, events, etc., it has been such a great pleasure getting to know you and your family from this blog and to know that you live your life day by day, trusting God, just as we all do. May God continue to bless you and yours abundantly and pour rediculous favor on you. And, lest I forget, wishing you a very Happy Birthday!
I think it would be great to have a simulcast of some kind for the bloggers. We could all sign in electronically at our respective sites and then at the home site, you'd know who exactly was signed in!
On the note of your comment of not being jealous - that is so true and thank you for sharing that.
Sometimes I know I can get caught up in "I'm not worshipping God correctly because SHE doesn't do it that way". I've learned my relationship with the Lord is just that - my relationship with the Lord.
I believe God is testing me through my trials to see what I do with it. Sometimes I believe He wants to see what process I use - ie, running to Him, praying to Him, praising Him - to get to the end goal. Do I worship Him through the trial? Do I praise Him and Him only? I just finished studying the attributes of God - and oh, my goodness, when I look at my trials through the lenses of His attributes - I have a whole new perspective of them.
God is magnificent. There is no other God like Him.
Julie
Beth:
It has been such a treat to read the updates each day about Camp Bigs. What a joy.
The idea for the Living Proof Live event is a wonderful one. I will be watching to see if there are any updates. I hope God thinks it is a great plan as well.
Enjoy the rest of your week
Beth,
Your P.S. is just what I needed today. I am an adult woman and yet I struggle do deeply with my relationship with my mom. I having been trying so hard to be healthy and to set boundaries that God would have me set to help my own family and these past two days everything has come to a head. I needed to hear the hope that you shared. God is the God of miracles and no matter what my mom allows Him to do, I can allow Him to perform a miracle in my life and in the lives of my husband and kids. I am praying that the Spirit will give me His heart for her and will allow me to love her while I wait for that miracle of wholeness. It may never come in our relationship but it has and will continue to happen in my family and the generations that follow. Thanks Beth for loving us like you do and showing off our Great God. I love you.
This blog is such a blessing. It has been such an encouragement to me as a woman, mom and Bible teacher. In fact, we are talking about setting up a blog for our Bible study in September. What a great place to share thoughts and insights during the week that we cannot contain until our next meeting together. We are planning to study the updated version of Woman's Heart God's Dwelling Place. What a blessing it is to openly share our faith with others. Have a great day! Camp sounds like a blast!! Enjoy!
Oh! The whole reason I wanted to post, too was my 1 year old daughter is going to Camp Primo (spanish for cousin) this week along with her 3 year old cousin at my mom's house! They've even got camp tshirts! Oh! She'll be glad to know you're doing the same!
YES!!! That would be awesome!! I hope it works out. I would definitely try to come.
Beth,
What a blessing to have that precious one around! It's refreshing and exhausting isn't it?
Last summer my precious mother took my then 9 and 5 year old for a week. It was the first time she had them for that long at her home (usually she stayed at ours). They had the best time and my mom didn't want them to leave. Two months later she unexpectedly went to be with the Lord and I am so thankful for that time my children had with her alone.
They speak of it often and with for another summer with MeMe.
You can't take those sweet memories away, praise God! Thanks for allowing me a little peek into your week to see the "fingerprints of God" at work!
Beth,
Siesta Camp at a LPL event would be absolutely delightful! I will be praying that everyone responsible for assembling such an event would catch the vision. I have only attended one LPL in Boissier City in March. It was an awesome time of reconnecting with God for me. Thank you again for being a blessing from the Lord. Kiss Jackson on his sweet little nose for us and have a great time with him this week!
Love ya,
Michelle Bentham
P. S. Did they ever find the woman who went missing in Boissier City during LPL? I am just wondering because I have been praying for that family since I heard.
If you do a middle of the country event with reserved seats for bloggers, count me in! :)
Jennifer
That is so awesome to spend so much time with your grandson. I am due at the end of July with my first!! The first of both sides and my mom cannot contain herself anymore. Best of all we donot know what God has blessed us with yet so the much awaited arrival will be extra special. I hope Ga doesn't get much hotter or I'll need to move into a pool!!
Love ya Siestas!
Chrsiti
Atl, GA
I am so glad things are going well! I am sure this week has flew by for you. Happy Birthday early and give Jackson a big kiss from all of us!
I think that idea is awesome... I would SOOOOOO be all over that one :) (of course hypothetically speaking! ha!)
Still cracking up at your camp. It's awesome!
~alicia
I would adore that...and thank you for the thought on that sundae...put me down for a definite "YES"!
Beth,
It is such a joy to me to hear all your funny stories. It gives me insight into what it is like for my in-laws when they have our kids. I think if they had the money they would pay us to go away so they could have them for a whole week! Thanks for sharing!
The spray on tan thing is great! I did it last summer when I was pregnant, but the position you have to stand in to be even all over is so weird! Especially when your center of gravity is off quite a bit! Maybe I should give it a shot now that I am somewhat back to normal...then again what's normal?!
Enjoy your dude!
Holly, Ga
Beth, I have never commented in the blog, so I guess it's time. I recently saw you in Boone and am still enjoying some "Asher" moments! I have never been jealous of you but I do brag on you a lot to many people that I meet. Last week, while on a cruise in Bermuda, I met a lady by the pool and we began talking about the Lord and before I knew it I said something about you. She said "I was just thinking about how much you remind me of her." (I'm not boasting) this has happened to me several times..I think it's because I talk a lot! I said to her "well I'm not sure why I remind you of Beth but I do love Jesus like she does and I do need Him every minute, just as she does" So..while I'm not jealous of you...I am excited to be a fellow sister! Thank you for many years of allowing God to use you in my life! D in Raleigh NC
Thank you so much for sharing with us. This blog stuff is so foreign to me. I'm so behind the times. But I love reading it everyday and thank God for the next best thing to being able to sit across the table together drinking coffee.
Thanks for opening a part of your life. You encourage people like me and I need that.
guess I better start commenting.. I am the queen of reading your posts and the comments and not posting back. Don't want to miss out on the opportunity to meet up. ha ha! Camp Bigs sounds like it is great..
JP in OK
I love the idea of having a LPL for bloggers! I hope you don't think I'm a freak or anything, but I've been to 6 LPL events- I ask for tickets for Christmas and birthdays. I am always drawn closer to Christ, challenged to know and obey His word, and encouraged to serve Him with everything He has given me. After Omaha, He led me to begin writing a 10 week study on Moses. It's hard work, but "keeping me busy" and out of trouble:) Thank you for having us learn Phil. 4:8!
I think you and the cook are going to need lots of rest after camp is over. Could you please say a prayer for Powell Church in Knoxville, TN for a blessed VBS next week. Thank you and enjoy your day at Camp. :-)
Beth,
I'm praying that the seed you planted regarding us siestas meeting up at a Living Proof Live event will germinate and grow strong and tall. Sign me up to attend, help plan, pray, or whatever it takes.
Happy Camping. My little guy will be traveling from California to Colorado for "Camp Gram-Cracker" the third week in July and I can hardly wait!!

I will be in Nashville...bring the Hot Fudge and Blue Bell with you

Dearest Beth,
You are so special to my heart ( I MEAN THAT FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART)
Everytime I read what you/Amanda have to say it gives me a little more hope each day.
I love you Beth Moore for sharing with us your heart, stories but most of all Jesus.
I'm a single mom that does it all by my self.
I;m 27 with a 12 year old son, he's my life.
I wish he could sign up for your canp and have a woman like you show him who Jesus truly is.
He doesn't see his dad nor does he have grandparents as they all turned their back's once they found out I was pregnant and keeping him but on the good note, he has a mom that loves him to dealth and is greatful that she did keep him and a week after he was born thats when I found who Jesus was..
Jackson and your kids are so blessed to have a mother/grandmother like you.
Have a blessing day
Nicole
Hi Beth,
Thank you so much for taking time from camp to talk to us and for being such a friend to your "siestas". It is such a blessing to be able to hear about your day and your family, It has made me feel so special and like a true personal friend. It has brought our friendship to a new demension!! (smile) I, for one really appreciate your heart to do it!
I am coming to see you in August in Rhode Island and I am bringing a newly saved friend who is looking forward to meeting "my friend Beth"!! Ha ha!
You are such a precious sister in the Lord. Thank you for all you do to minister to women. It really is awesome! I do pray for you family and your little camper!
Keep those Bible studies coming! I love them!
Thanks again and, God Bless you all.
Your friend and sister in the Lord,
Gina Kelley

Dear Siesta Beth,
That would be so awesome to have a section at a conference for The Siesta's. What are we called unofficially or officially? Is it - Siesta's In Christ? :-)
You are so funny. Thank you Siesta Granny B for being used of God so mightily!
I listen to my Bible studies and LPM Live events on CD while working out on the treadmill and the funniest thing happened. My friends say that I'm starting to "sound" like you :-)
I said something about people in Bible Study "just doing the thing!" and everyone started laughing.
Well, they need to "just do the thing!" instead of "eating their seed".
Ok, I need to get back to work. Why am I "teaching you" your own Bible study? Ha Ha
HIS daughter and Your Siesta in HIM,
Teri
p.s. Good for you and the spray on tan. I stay out of the sun and do the fake bake but I got a bad product last week and looked like mud on Sunday! EWWW
Hi Beth!! Sounds like things are in full swing at Campa Biggs! by the time Amanda comes home, her little guy will be simply spoiled! How wonderful of you to volunteer to keep an eye on the little sprout so she could have some alone time with her sweetie.
All of us Siestas out here in Blog Land love you & are keeping you covered in prayer.
Tracie from Fairfield OH
Beth, I have to tell you that you have been such an inspiration to me! I am a pastors wife, mother of 2 boys, and Registered Nurse. Also a former Pit dweller! Thank you for your faithfulness to our precious Lord! I will be seeing you in September 7-8 at the Deeper Still event! I am so excited. I just had to tell you that I am taking your book "Get out of that Pit" with me to the hair dresser today because I want her to do my hair like yours! Ha! You probably thought it would be something spiritual! I have been trying to witness to my hairdresser so she might just be interested in the book too! But just to let you know you are beautiful inside and out! Sure wish I could sit and chat sometime and have coffee with you ( I am sure like a million other women would too!). Christians are just naturally drawn to others that love the Lord and have such a passion for Him in their lives! And you are one of them! You go sista! Or should I say Siesta!
Dear Siesta Beth,
Just read all the comments you made about Camp Granny. I love it. It sounds like you have your hands full with your little camper. I have a nephew who is a week older than Jackson and he is full of spunk as well and soooooooooooooooooo cute. My nephew Flynn is pretty cheeky and a couple of weeks ago his daddy asked him many times to stop eating sticks(poor kid he must be missing something in his diet) he finally said to him " How many times do I have to tell you to stop eating sticks?" Flynn answered "One" His daddy then tells him I have had to tell you more than one time. Flynn then says "Two" He is so precious.
I think I like all your ideas on bloggers meeting at conferences, I think we should be able to reserve special seating for us at all conferences. At Boone I wanted to sit right up front, but it's hard to go to these conferences when most of your group find the music tooooooooooooooooooo loud. Too loud I've been praying I never find the music too loud or I get really old and cannot appreciate it anymore. God forbid!
Well I hope you can catch up on your siesta's at some stage maybe like most counselor's it is when your camper goes home.
Then you'll be needing your own spiritual camp.

Beth....
Thank you so much for always reminding me that the Father loves me. I'm on my way out of a MAJOR pit and still have a long way to go....but at least I'm heading up!!! Sometimes I find my self doubting whether or not God could love someone like me and if I'm even worth the fight....but recently the spirit has been whispering words of His love into my ear throughout each day....and your post was just more reassurance that I'm worth the fight! Thank you so much!
I love the idea of getting together with my fellow blogger at a conference. I think I will get my husband to start saving - what a wonderful birthday present. Have a ASHER day.
Hey siestas-
Has anybody else noticed that the months listed on the left side of the blog are in Spanish??
just wondering! :)
I received this in an email and thought I would pass it on to all my siestas! I changed a few words :)
Time passes.
Life happens.
Distance separates
Children grow up.
Jobs come and go.
Love waxes and wanes.
Hearts break.
Colleagues forget favors.
Careers end.
BUT - Siestas are there, no matter how much time and how many miles are between you. A sista is never farther away than needing her.
When you have to walk that lonesome valley and you have to walk it by yourself, the women in your life will be on the valley's rim, cheering you on, praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on your behalf, and waiting with open arms at the valley's end.
Sometimes, they will even break the rules and walk beside you, or
come in and carry you out.
Blog Siestas, girlfriends, daughters, granddaughters, daughters-in-law, sisters, sisters -in-law, mothers, grandmothers, aunties, nieces, cousins and extended family all bless our life.
When we began this adventure called womanhood, we had no idea of the incredible joys or sorrows that lay ahead, nor did we know how much we would need each other.
Every day, we need each other still. Pass this on to all the women who help make your life meaningful. I just did.
Oh Beth, the conference sounds wonderful...I have LOVED every one I have every attended and to get to meet some of the bloggers would be terrific! Have a great time with your grandson and thank you so much for devoting so much of your time in ministry to us, your sisetas. God is so GOOD!!
Stacy
oh man! Save me a ticket! I feel like I already know some of the siestas by their comments.
Beth what a heart of God you have to stop your busy schedule & have camp! Some mother/mother-in-laws are not too hip on their grandchildren. I do not understand this, and it is a constant prayer for me to not take it personally.
I will be praying for you on Father's Day, I know this one will be a tough one. My Dad is not physically dead, but the relationship we have is just as if he were. He molested my niece when she was 12 for about a year. We knew something was wrong with her all these years but we just could not put our finger on it. She told us in February 07. Talk about being thrown in a pit! We 4 sisters need manicures from trying to dig ourselves out of the pit. Thank God I read your book. God is going to break this family free! We will not let Satan have our families. Pray for us.... "Fathers Day" has a whole new meaning this year!
I will be at the event!
Love yor encouragement Dedra @ DFW
Ok, so it says zero comments, which means they haven't been moderated and I'll be comment # 156 or 297, I'm guessing. Anyway, OH MY GOSH HOW FUN WOULD THAT LPM EVENT FOR BLOGGERS BE?!! Can you tell I'm all for it?! I'll start saving my money now!
Glad you are so enjoying time as director of camp Bigs! What a precious time with your grandson!
Blessings to the Moore clan,
Kelly
What a great blog Beth! :) It's great to see your "real life" side... lol. Anyway, I know you don't answer questions on here, but I wanted to throw this out to you. I vaugely remember you talking about the death of your mother and that was FAR from something I thought I'd experience anytime soon. HOWEVER, my precious mommy died suddenly 5/30/07 2am and it's been HORRIBLE. A terrible nightmare. From what I recall, it seemed similar to what happened to your mom (can't remember exactly). They "pulled the plug" on the most amazing woman I have ever known in my life. The woman I saw just days before who was happy, energetic and full of life. Anyways... I know you don't have time to listen or read all that's itching to pour out of my fingertips. But I'd love to hear (again) what you said about your mother's death. I think it would be comforting for me.
Though I don't know you personally, I love the person that you are and just know that the "realness" you exude is a great blessing.
If anyone else out there remembers what the video (was it the podcast) Beth spoke about the death of her mother was... PLEASE let me know! Much Love,
Michele
oh, how I'd be ALL OVER that idea of yours!!!!!
I'm wondering how Camper (and Camp Director) are going to re-acclimate once camp is over... I'm sure it will be the typical end of camp boo-hooing!
Blessings,
Karla
Hello Beth! I love your idea about a bloggers "reunion". Although this is only my second time to blog....I feel like I know you and your family very well and would like to meet you in person along with the other bloggers! I love the way you live your life the way God intended and how you are such an encouragement to all the rest of us! God Bless You and Your entire Family!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for reminding us that we all can have the same things through Jesus. I am one of those who tends to envy and/or feel bad about my own struggles as a wife and mother and child of God. Thank you for letting me know you struggle also. I do not usually join in on all the discussions but I read each comment daily - it makes me feel as if I am at some huge women's event and somehow makes the day seems less like a challenge and more like fun. I am so thankful for this blog and its ministry. I think the idea about the bloggers getting together is a great one. Just had to say thank you and God Bless. Love, ginsamica
do those spray tans really work? I've always wanted to get one, but wasn't sure about them. I used a self tanning lotion once and when I sweated, it came off onto my shirt! yikes!
I have loved reading about Camp Granny. I will be dropping my kids off at their own Camp Granny next week for a 10th anniversary getaway. Thanks so much for all you do, Beth. You are truly an inspiration.

Dear Sweet Beth,
It is as if I know you and now with you sharing your wonderful grandson with us, even more! Just wanted you to know how much my Bible Study group and I have grown over the past 2 years under many of your studies. We are currently completing the last week of home work on the Paul study. Love it. Thank you for staying faithful and challenging us to dig deeper in His word. We also study under other teachers but like you the best! Thank you for being real and just like us. It is so refreshing.
Your siesta, Lawan Rivera of the "Wednesday Night Lights"
Blue Bell VANILLA? Am I missing something? What's the point of vanilla?? Not ooey, gooey chocolate? I love the idea of a Living Proof siesta bowl for bloggers! Aren't you so clever?! Clever and computer literate to boot! (Applause)
Just wanted to say you make me smile! Be blessed at camp!
In His love,
Angela :)
Beth, thank you so much for being so real with us. I too have felt pangs of jealousy when thinking or hearing about your family. I have experienced divorce and I have felt so guilty and shameful for so long. I am presently reading your Breaking Free book and am doing better. Please keep me in your prayers. I love you and Yes! I wish God's best for you and your family. Love, Nancy
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU HAPPY BIRTHDAY BETH HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU.
I hope you have a wonderful and blessed birthday.
A glorious hello to all of you!
I have something I was dying to share with someone and the Siestas were the first people I thought of!
My 8 year old daughter wrote a song for my husband's birthday yesterday. When she told me she had spent the last couple weeks working on it, I figured it was birthday related and/or something about her daddy. Little did I know what that profound little mind had come up with...Here's just a sample of her song...
"One day when I was walking, I had a vision,
a vision of a Portrait talking to me.
He said, 'Do you want eternal life or death?'
'Gee, I would love eternal life,' I said.
Then the Portrait said, 'If that's what you wish bow down to Me.'
I bowed and said, 'Forever you reign as an almighty God and you will always be...
The Portrait in my mind, I said the Portrait in my mind, and you reign forevermore. And we will be friends forever and that will never change."
What a treasure, my siestas! The thought that my little girl sees God as a Portrait in her mind is profound!! Thanks for letting me share.
I love you all! And thank you, Ms. Beth...I wouldn't be where I am in this awesome journey without you and because of that my young daughter's life is also being impacted. You will have one extra special jewel in your crown just for what you've done for me and my family.
God bless!
Kelli in Ohio
Yes - it would be fantastic to have a LPM event in 2008 where the siestas could get to meet each other! How awesome!
Love and hugs,
Adrienne
Beth,
I've been reading your blog for as long as it started but never figured out how to blog back, but this spurred me to post; I live in the midwest and currently serve with 3 other women as directors (although it takes way more than that)for an annual womens retreat and we would love to have you stop by for a blog-fest in 2008! I personally have grown and had HUGE breakthroughs through your ministry and just the other day I was talking to my 12 year old son about "not doing drugs" and I said to him, "you know my favorite Bible teacher Beth Moore, she puts it this way, there ain't no high like the Most High" and he said "of course I know who Beth Moore is how could I not" :)teehee, anyway, I'm serious about the conference in the Midwest. I know you were just in Omaha, NE but this is about 3 hours west of that and I BELIEVE HIM for such a thing as this. Thank you so much, my heart tenders as I write this, I am blessed through His Word and you make it even more of a blessing.
Deeply in Christ,
Shari
Yes it would be lots of fun!!!
After several weeks of caring for my parents who were recently in an auto accident, I am ready for a hot fudge sundae and some extra time with Jesus!!
I too love serving in women's ministry, but feel the pull between family, parents and ministry all too often. Sometimes I just need to be reminded that God wants to spend time with me alone, without the distractions of everyday life. The thought of ice cream with my heavenly father makes me smile.
Have a great time with you little camper. I am anxious for the day when I can keep my grandbabies.
I'm a first-timer to this blog -- just found it recently after attending the WONDERFUL Living Proof event in Omaha....Beth, thank you so much for your genuineness (don't know if that is a word or not!)....but that is one of the many things that helps all of us draw closer to God through your example. You admit that you have scars and wounds, and it helps us to do the same thing. Bless you and thank you!
beth, i just wanted you know that i started your updated version of a women's heart God's dwelling place. i'm about to start week 2. it's so amazing! He's so amazing! i think i'm starting to feel a little bit of what you spoke of when you said that this one really "gets to you." i so hope it gets me too. thanks for the laughs in there too (i won't spoil it for my sisters who will do it in the future). i had a rough day at work (like probably many of my sister), so i'm going to go find some refreshment in His tabernacle now. love you girls!
