Day Two
Ladies, the Lord is answering your prayers! Day two was a success. They were able to film 5 out of 7 sets of intros and outros for Psalms of Ascent. It was huge that they were able to knock so much out. It will give them some breathing room in case something unexpected happens later. It was also important because the Sabbath began at sundown. Pretty much everything shuts down until it's over. When I went to Israel with my mom ten years ago, I saw that the elevators in the hotel stopped on every floor so that you wouldn't have to press a button and do work on the Sabbath. So yeah, the Sabbath is serious business.
Day three will be spent outside of Jerusalem where they will be able to get more done. They will start filming for Esther at the start of the the Feast of Purim (sunset March 3 - nightfall March 5). I didn't realize it, but they planned the trip for this exact time so they could be in Israel during this feast.
Their guide is actually an important and very well-loved person in the Israeli army. Mom said being in his company makes people think they are diplomats, which is very amusing to me. Do diplomats carry twelve pink lipsticks in their purses?
One cool answer to prayer is that my very claustrophobic dad did well when he had to go with the crew into some kind of ancient tunnel. When I was a kid he took me to the Sonora Caverns in West Texas and, bless his heart, he had to leave halfway through. So this was no small feat! You would not have known to pray for that, but the Holy Spirit did!
Mom asked me to tell you that she loves you very much and she thanks you for your intercession. It has been several hours since we spoke and I can't remember the exact words she used, but I think they included sweet, darlin, precious, and beloved. Know that you are loved!
By the way, there are 2,000 of you praying for this trip. What an army! What does God have in store that He enlisted so many people to pray?

Thank you for keeping us posted on the events of the filming. I have been praying for years for the team and your mom as they do these projects. Having current information is helpful in praying for God's work to be done.
Oh God is Good!!! I praise Him for his mercy and compassion and I thank him for hearing and answering our prayers! It's funny you mentioned Esther because during my time to pray for Beth I was wondering if she would go back to film for Esther! I just taught my class out of Esther and I taught on purim. What a time to reflect on God's faithfulness and celebrate HIM with a feast! It reminds us that he is the God of Providence and ALL things are possible with him. I praise him for helping your dad!! It is an honor praying for your parents and all involved in the taping and I am looking forward to hearing about more answered prayers and I am believing God to give your mom a delight tomorrow!! I signed up for the 6 a.m. time and I am NOT an early riser. But, I have been 'awakened' by a holy alarm clock each morning about 10 minutes early! God is amazing! I totally understand your dad's claustrophobia, as my husband is very much that way. When we were in Israel he couldn't go do Hezekiah's tunnel. So, yes it's a very big deal that he was able to go in! PTL. Continuing to pray,

Please keep our Mom informed that she has a mighty army in prayer for her and your family, especially while she is over there, but also all the time. And even though she has never met most of us, it seems that she has a way of connecting with people through her words, even though she really isn't in the same room as most of us..it seems that she transends the pages and personally loves each of us! I feel that if I ever should happen to run into her at Starbucks, it would be alright to sit with her and have a latte. ( not that it would ever happen mind you, because I live in Arkansas..so it is highly unlikely that that opportunity would happen..it just seems that she has a way of making me feel special and loved!

That is so exciting that she gets to be there during the Feast of Purim. I looked on my calendar this morning and noticed this and thought to myself, I need to get Esther out and read it. But Beth gets to experience this first hand. What a special treat. Please ask your mom to write down the details so she can share. I look forward to hearing about the Feast!
12 pink lipsticks, 2000 prayer warriors, 1 claustrophobic spouse in a tunnel ... God is in the details! I have another friend that carries that much lipstick - let's just say that dinner out with her is always exciting and entertaining. I can only imagine the same with Beth. It's exciting to be a part of the prayer for this session. God is so amazing.
Dear Amanda: Thank you for your faithfulness to this blog. I just checked it about 20 minutes ago and there was nothing new. It is 11:37pm here in Otis, MA and I can't believe I am even up, but we are facilitating a Women's breakfast tomorrow morning featuring guess who...yes, your mom. She does get around. How many people do you know who can be in more than one place at the same time. Well, not quite. We have been doing these breakfasts(about 4 per year)for 2 years. We have your mom on DVD, a continental breakfast, a bit of worship and we are growing. At first no one heard of Beth, but the word is spreading here in New England.
I will pray too, for your mom in Israel, she does so much for me, it is the least I can do. I am up very late as we had an ice storm today and lost power. It didn't come back on until 8:30pm, when I decided to make bread. Well, God bless you, I am beginning to feel like we are family with all this great news about Jackson, Mom, Dad, and just everyday stuff that God is soooo involved in.

How fun and informative to have the opportunity to hear about your parents' travels in Israel and find out Beth is working on another study. I would LOVE to visit the Beautiful Land! I've truly enjoyed the on-location intros Beth has done in a couple of the studies I've attended. It seems to make the study more relevant.
I've felt so truly blessed that God has brought Beth's studies across my path. I've known the Lord for 30+ years and can't remember being so excited about attending a study and doing the homework. Beth has given me a renewed hunger for the Word of God. I love how she makes each of the studies so applicable to our lives. I'm presently doing the Daniel study with a group of gals from my church. Not a study I would normally pursue, but let me say it's fantastic! The first 6 weeks centering on integrity has touched all of us deeply. This final 6 weeks has us "learning" about some passages that we might normally avoid. It's so interesting, but mind-boggling at times.
May I add that I appreciate the emphasis that Beth places in her studies on relationship with God. Not that we would gain knowledge for the sake of knowledge, for that puffs us up. But learning so we can love our LORD more fully, worship Him more freely, and serve Him more willingly...that's exciting. I love seeing how prophesy that was future to Daniel is history to us. It's so faith-building to see that more than 500 (over half) of the prophesies of the Bible have already been fulfilled. Our God is an AWESOME GOD!!!
I found this blog a couple days ago and hadn't signed up for prayer, but have been praying for your parents and the LPM team whenever I think of them.
May I confirm what another sista posted a few days ago. The thing I love about Beth is.... that it's NOT about Beth. It's all about our precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! May His Name be forever glorified!
I do so enjoy the blog and reading the comments from all the sistas. Feels like we are all one big family! Can you imagine a giant tea party in heaven with all of us Beth M. study gals together.... or perhaps a coffee; whatever is served in heaven will be "out-of-this-world"

It is an honor to be part of the prayer team for this Israel trip. I was in Israel in November and had such an awesome experience. I can't wait to see the videos when we do the Psalms study. You girls are a testimony to the faithfulness of your parents and our God. I so long to leave spiritual descendants behind when I leave this earth to be with the Lord. So much of my spiritual growth has come because of Beth's Bible teaching. I ask the Lord each day to make me bold for Him just like Beth has become. May God bless each of you HUGELY.

Amanda, the Holy Spirit has been rousing me at my appointed time every morning, and I have literally immersed myself in prayer for your mom and dad, and for the entire crew with them, as well as all those who gathered to hear your mom speak. I feel like it actually takes over my whole body. I even try to visualize myself in Israel, even though I've never been there; what I wouldn't give to be there right now in body! I eagerly come here waiting for word from you, and you have been so faithful in delivering. Thank you... I'm so filled with gratitude for you and your mom and everyone who delivers God's word to those hungry for it. As another poster said, it is indeed an honor and a privilege to be called to pray for all of you, and I will continue to do so, fervently and joyfully! Thank You Amanda for keeping us posted on your mom. I will keep praying for her. We are going to start a study of hers soon. Right now we don't know which one to do. I told them about Psalms and they can't wait for it. We may do Daniel in the mean time.
You know what I would like to see is some more about you. What has been some of your big God moments.
What a blessing to read how the Lord is blessing the work in Israel. "They will speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty, and i will meditate on your wonderful works". Yes, Lord, more of you!
Amanda, thanks for the updates. It's truly a privilege to be apart of the Lord's work through prayer. To echo what many have said, the LPM Blog has been such an encouragement and blesssing.
I think your mama and my mother-in-law may be long-lost relatives. My MIL can't complete a sentence without referring to me as "sugar," "darlin'," "honey," or, if she's really wound up: "sugar-darlin'."
And it is, as always, our sweet privilege to pray. Can't wait to hear about all He has done and all He is going to do.

I just want to share something God laid on my heart the other day as I was studying (I tried to get it on the blog then, but had troubles). I am currently going through Praying God's Word, and the Devotional Journal with it, and was able to be at the Simulcast too (in Liberty, MO) and God is really working in my life to help me get FREE! I am so grateful for Beth, who truly stands before us as Living Proof that we can all be free! Amen! Anyway, God reminded me of Habakkuk 1:5, which says "Look at the nations and watch--and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told." As I think about the response to the Simulcast, and what Beth said about wanting one million, and now her work on yet another study to lead us closer to His heart, I had a prayer on my heart. "Lord, I pray You will just AMAZE us by Freedom You provide for millions who are reached by the ripples that come from the rock You threw into the river of Satan's desire on Saturday! Let all those ripples cause many disturbances in his plans! You have done such a mighty work, and have equipped us with the knowledge of how to be FREE! Help us to rely on You every day to be free, and may our freedom so change our lives that other people will be drawn into the contagion! Help us to be jealous for those around us to also be free!" Now, sistas, may we stand back in expectation, ready to be amazed! These influences will not soon die down--may we do our best to make sure of it!

Thanks for the update. Can't wait to see what God has in store! It is so cool that they are there during the Feast of Purim when they celebrate the divine intervention for their people. A friend told me that they read from the book of Esther during these couple of days when the name Mordecai is read the people shout YEA! and the name Haman is read they shout BOO!. I will continue to pray and look forward to the next update.
Thanks Amanda for the updates! I am so excited to hear the results. It's fun and exciting to watch God do such an amazing work. How is your mom holding up physically? Is she being able to sleep at night? How's the hair-makeup-wardrobe assistant doing? Besides being claustrophobic, is he holding up well? I've been praying every day!
