'Twas the Night Before the Simulcast

I know a lot of us have been getting ready in various ways for tomorrow's simulcast. My church has been buzzing with activity and excitement all week. Mom has been intense and constantly in the Word for the last few days. She's already safe and sound in Tyler and ready to go.

My own preparation as one of the hostesses at my site has been pretty intense, too. I bought some Velcro rollers and root lifting spray so that I can have Beth Moore-worthy big hair tomorrow. You know, because I want to be recognizable to our visitors as the daughter. So every day for the past week I've swapped my hair minimizer (the Chi) for my new hair maximizers so that on the big day I will be proficient at creating my adequately large do. I realized almost too late that my roots were completely unacceptable for standing in front of a crowd and making announcements. But the Lord kindly provided an open spot with my stylist to correct the problem. I know my sisters are relieved for me.

In all seriousness, I am speechless at the amount of people that my mom is going to speak to tomorrow. If I really let my mind think about it, I get a stomach ache. It is a huge, huge blessing to all of us to know that y'all are interceding. May it not be our hair, but our Savior - the One who is able to deliver anyone from any pit - who is high and lifted up tomorrow.

What anticipation many of us hold for tomorrow. I'm here in the midwest and there is quite a storm warning out for much of the country. My prayer is that God will see that the people He wants to be there will be able to hear this message and that He will keep us all safe. May God be glorified in what is said and done in tomorrow's simulcast. Lord, we lift up Beth, the musicians, all the staff and volunteers at all the sites that will make this possible. Bless and encourage each one, both those ministering and the attendees. LORD, may Your Mighty Name be lifted up across this nation! God Bless.
I'm so grateful to be in His grip!

I'm going to miss it! I want to go, but things have happened to prevent me (sick baby and working husband). I wish there was a web broadcast - but my best frien dis going, so I'm sure to hear all about it. I guess I'll make my way to Mardel tomorrow and buy the book!

Maybe next year - last year's was awesome, though!

May he show himself mighty once again through the healing that will begin tomorrow for so many women.

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chron 7:14

Love the new blog design, and love reading the entries. What a great way to stay connected with the sistas!

Thank you, everyone at LPM, for how you labor in love to bring us the Word and invite us closer to Christ.

I still don't know if my schedule will allow me to attend the Simulcast - but I know that I can have a special time with my Savior even if I'm not seeing Beth's smiling face.

Let's all pray tomorrow for the women who don't yet know our wonderful Lord.

First let me say, I just found this blog two weeks ago and have really enjoyed the encouragement from my fellow sistas! I am unable to attend the simulcast tomorrow, but please know Beth that I will lift you up in prayer before the Almighty One and pray that He uses you in a mighty way!

I just wanted to tell everyone - if you have not seen the movie "Facing the Giants", please buy it or rent it ASAP. It is one of the most God-edifying movies I have ever seen! We had "dinner and a movie" at our church tonight and showed the film. It was awesome! The movie teaches that our God is a BIG God! It is also very comical and children and adults loved it. I just can't believe I cried so much during a movie about football. (But, I am a southerner and we do take our football very seriously! LOL) Seriously, God was at work and we had two decisions for Christ. Praise God! He is so GOOD!!

I can't wait to hear what God wants to say through Beth in Atlanta in August. Beth, can I save you a seat at Starbucks? It will be perfect weather for an iced mocha!

Bought by His blood,
Donna

ezuxlgI can't believe I get to be the first to post. We had a meeting tonight of volunteers for the simulcast. I think I am even more in awe tonight of how God has put this all together in order to get His message out (via Beth's mouth) to the masses.
Lord, You are so good to us. Thank you for Your servant, Beth.

In HIM,
SW

P.S. Kind of feel bad for the few men I know who will be there tomorrow. We made all the restrooms WOMEN's!! :)

Amanda,
It is just unbelievable how many women will be connected tomorrow through the simulcast. It absolutely blows my mind that we will all be worshiping God TOGETHER, all over the US/Canada/etc. I wonder if this many Christians have ever joined, at ONE time, to hear God's word and worship Him. It gives me chills too!
My mom and I will be with you in Abilene with our BIG Texas hair (I had my roots taken care of yesterday) and our blue bracelets.

You are being covered in prayer. Blessings to you and your family!

Amanda, you made me laugh out loud about big-hair. Your mom did the same here in Seattle earlier this month; she began the conference by asking us if she really had big hair that day, because she didn't think people in Seattle were used to it, so she tried to keep it flatter than usual. It wasn't flat. :) Speaking of Seattle, although Beth was here just a few weeks ago, our churches are filling to hear her again Saturday, and are eager for her to lead us and our sisters across the world in "our Savior being high and lifted up." In Beth's words, can somebody please say "Amen"?!!

OH my, I am so there with you Amanda on the big hair thing...When Beth came to Anchorage in June of 06 I purposely rolled my hair, teasing it to just the right amount, so that when I got a chance I could say to her...I am an Alaskan Mare with Alaskan Hair!!! Which of course is about three times bigger than Texas hair...LOL...THEN...I had actually wrote her a letter before she came, and she read it when she was on her way here. (I believe) She came out on stage and said that she likes to put faces to the names of people that have written to her from the cities that she visits. I was on pins and needles, thinking that there was no way she would say my name, cause it was like nine months before that I had written. I did get a letter back from the correspondence people but I didn't know for sure if she had actually even gotten the letter...If I would have been more on my toes, when she called out my name, I would have bent over, shook my hair out, stood back up, and said, Hi Beth...this is what an Alaskan Mare with Alaskan Hair looks like!!! LOL...I have so regretted not being able to say that to her!!! All I could say was "I didn't think you got the letter...she said...I got it honey, I got it...she said some other cool things to me, then she gave me a hug, I told her I loved her, she said the same back, and I sat down with tears streaming down my face...I have never had another woman touch my soul to the core of my being the way Beth has...BUT...even in that moment, I KNEW that it was my Heavenly Father telling me that He had heard my hearts cry that day, and blessing me by letting me meet the woman who has mentored me without even knowing how much she has touched my life...I couldn't get the grin off my face that night, cause Daddy Loves His Girl...WHEW...it was so fun and powerful at the same time.
All that to say...I love Jesus, Beth Moore, and BIG HAIR!!! LOL...
And you can count me in when it comes to showing my support, with my big hair, my prayers, my big hair, my love for hurting women, my big hair, helping others get out of the pit, and did I mention my big hair?
I gotta go to bed, up here in Alaska we get to watch the simulcast but it starts at 8:30 am and I have an hour to drive before I get to the church and we gotta get coffee, so I gotta be up by 5am to have amble time to prepare my hair, oh, and my heart too...LOL... Can't wait to see ya Beth, and Amanda, have FUN...
Love you sistas,
Gayle Ann

Amanda as I sat reading your post this morning I had rollers in my hair and I don't get my roots done until next week! (sigh) However, I am not a hostest so I am safe! After I brush out my hair I am on my way to Chick Fil A (I know but my girls gotta eat) and then we are on our way to Knoxville to the Simulcast. I have felt just great anticipation over the Simulcast and I know that God is going to deliver people today and miracles will abound and all praise we be HIS and glory to his name!! Amen!
Now, we better get a pic of your high and lifted hair!! lol.

I had to check the blog before I get ready to head out for the simulcast. I can't tell you the thrill I have knowing that most of us Sistas will all be doing the same thing at the same time, and for those who can't attend will be thinking about and praying for us who are. Is it just me or does it feel like a family get together? I have to say I am a little nervous about today. GOD has been preparing my heart to I think expose some of those hidden places I have so specifically tucked far away. I have been on the defense against hurt since my early years of life, and I fight GOD tooth and nail everytime He tries to open some of that up to heal me. Not because I don't want to be healed, but going through the pain again is almost unbearable. But, I know that I will be better in the end, and mostly I will love GOD more! So, here goes...
I am excited about seeing my new friend, Beth!! I haven't seen you since we started blogging! This is going to be fun!

Whoa! As I sat down to have a quiet time with the Lord before driving to the simulcast today, I realize that the reading in my One Year Bible for this day, and yesterday, is Psalm 40! Wow! It seems that the Lord wants to draw some people out of a pit today!

OK girls.... I am a Southern sista hairdresser and I can no longer not comment on these BIG hair comments. YA'LL ROCK!!!! FYI... to get true BIG "PRAISE" hair you need to use a dime size of volumizing gel on wet hair...work it thru from roots to end.... then spray a root lifter at your roots and work it thru your ends. Blow dry your hair upside down until completely dry. Before you come up for air, spray hair spray all over wait for it to dry for a minute then flip up.... (you should look really witchy and wild) DO NOT BRUSH THROUGH IT!!! Shake it down a little, pick through the ends a little and start rolling, spraying every curl with hair spray. When all the curls are done, shake it out with your fingers, take a pick and "tease it up to Jesus" (that's why it's called 'praise' hair... because it lifts high to the heavens and says 'Praise you , JESUS!') When all is done, take a little putty a finger fix the strands into place and do a final allover spray... and there you go. It sounds like you'll be there all day...but you get the hang of it and your hair will last for days!!!! Girls, enjoy the Lord and Beth in a mighty way today!!!! And Amanda, you are lovely just the way you are!!!!

Ok, I think I'm in - I'm spending the day learning how to BLOG, rather than being at the Simulcast. Unfortunately Iowa was hit with snow and ice and the churches had to cancel the broadcast. Would someone be willing to highlight the day for me? How did it go?? I would really appreciate it. I have been listening to the book on CD - it's been wonderful for me, as I haven't been able to sit down and read like I used to. I pray everything is going well for Beth and crew at this awesome event!

I am in constant prayer for this event! I woke up this morning to my six year old vomiting and I knew immediately I wasn't going! I sent my four girlfriends, who I surpised with tickets on Valentines Day, and told them to take good notes for me!
I too wish there would have been a web cast. I will read the book and pray for a "live" message like I would have gotten from Beth.

I was looking forward to attending the simulcast in Cedar Rapids today, but they had to cancel it due to freezing rain! (We'll get to view a video recording of the event in a few weeks.)

Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I was THRILLED to discover your blog! I'm a missionary in Kenya, (currently on a sabatical in Iowa) and enjoy sharing about life in Kenya with friends around the world through my blog.

I just purchased Patriarchs and was able to put the video on my iPod so that I'd be able to take it up to my prayer rock in the boonies in Kenya. I thoroughly look forward to hearing what God will teach me through this study.

In His service,

Beth, I just got home from the simulcast and ... WOW! I want to speak on one thing that touched my heart particularly. I'd often thought of what I wanted to do when I first meet Jesus face to face, and the thing that kept coming to my mind was hugging Him. I remember years ago hearing a pastor say, "You won't want to hug Him, because you'll be too awed." Yet, this feeling kept on in my heart. Just 3 days ago, I even wrote it down in Daniel [week 10 - I'm sure you know the spot] while thinking, "Must I qualify this somehow, as it doesn't seem Biblical from what I've been told." I'm so glad to know my heart towards Jesus isn't wrong or misguided.
