Sunny and Simulcasts

You guys are so wonderful. I could not believe how sweetly you responded to my worries about Sunny. Even those of you who weren't dog freaks! Now, that's true sisterhood! No doubt due to your prayers (I actually didn't have the guts to outright ask for them), that little dickens rallied a tad. (God probably responded most to the prayers of the sister who said she had never prayed for a dog before. You guys have no idea the kinds of things we're asked to pray about at LPM. And we do, grinning ear to ear at times.) Sunny smiled so much yesterday and today that she nearly looked like a cartoon character. Then, when I threw on my walking shoes this morning, she danced around to show me she wanted to go. The vet won't let us take her on our three mile walks anymore because of her arthritis so I took her on a pseudo-walk for only about five minutes. The weather was so beautiful in Houston today that I also stayed home to write from my back porch so you can imagine she was in dog-heaven. Beanie, our birddog, came home today with Keith after both of them had been at the hunting lease for a week. Our young girl always helps bring our old girl back to life. Honestly, Sisters, I wasn't just overreacting. Sunny has been so lethargic and out of character that I thought I was going to find her lifeless every time I looked for her. I think maybe she's back for a while. I'll keep you posted (if you can handle it.) Thanks for humoring me with my dog loves.

And about the simulcast in February, I am so thrilled to hear from some of you who are going to participate! I do not take lightly the opportunity to serve you. Amanda helped me decide on Green Acres Baptist in Tyler, Texas for the location. We had a list of big cities the publisher had given us to choose from with all these familiar big-name churches (many of which I love dearly). Amanda and I scrolled down the list where we found some of the smaller locations, and she said, "How can we resist Tyler, Texas?" And I said, "We can't." Anyway, let me tell you something, Sisters. Towns like Tyler, Conroe, Eagle Lake, Wharton, and Victoria supported this ministry with invitations for all manner of luncheon and banquet for a mighty long time when nobody else could stand to hear such a thick accent. It's only fitting that God would sustain a very soft spot in my heart for Texas towns and tug me back to my roots. This is where I started and I have little doubt this is where I'll finish out. No matter where you call home, however, I am looking so forward to serving any of you at the simulcast. Travis Cottrell, our dear friend and co-laborer in the Gospel, will lead the music so you will undoubtedly be blessed by him. That's enough for now! I am enjoying our blog relationship! (Which reminds me, one of our LPM staff members responded to something funny that happened the other day by saying, "Beth, you need to put that on our blob!" As serious as a heart attack. We died. Suffice it to say, this mode of communication is new to some of us.)

Beth,
I'm glad to hear your Sunny is better. We got a puppy for Christmas and he is already tugging at our heart strings.

Over the holidays I listened to your CD set on Wisdom and Rivers in the Desert, I heard from God very clearly. I am a RVP with Arbonne (skincare) and the title means I'm at the top. (That looks like bragging but I'm trying to put it in perspective.) anyway God used you to help confirm that He wants me to walk away from it and follow Him. Although on the surface it seems CRAZY to do! Please pray for us, that we will follow Him faithfully. I as well as my husband feel like He is saying, "pour out your life for me" but it is hard to walk away from a successful business and do something that with my eyes, I am the least qualified to do. I am scared, and happy all at the same time. Sorry I took up so much of your space. But I feel like you are a mentor, and I just wanted you to know because whatever God does, you'll be a part of it and I am so thankful for you!

Dear sister Beth

My dog Gumbo is my baby. I have no children of my own but I really believe the Lord sent me my 22 pound bundle of joy to fill that void. I am so glad your "baby" is doing better. I did pray. (By the way the President of Southeastern Baptist Seminary did a sermon at my church recently and he proved scripturely that dogs will be in heaven.) I know I will be a basket case when Gumbo "goes home" but it is nice to think I will see him again with real angel wings. (not the ones I put on him for pictures.)
I am looking forward to the simulcast. I am praying that the Lord will save many as a result of your never tiring faithfullness to bring the Word.
I like this "blobing" thing too.
Love ya girlfriend!

Hahahahahahaha...I am dying at the "blob" story and just felt the need to share. I am a college student and my older brother and I make it a point to keep my mom updated on the latest 'slang' words. Christmas before last dad gave her a really nice ring that he had saved up for. Trying to be a 'hip' mom she responded by putting it on and saying in her best 'cool' voice, "Hey ya'll (praise the Lord for the south) look at my bloooog!!"
To which my brother responded (face in his hands), "Mom, it's BLING."
Gotta love the effort. :)
Hope this made somebody smile. :D
Bless ya'll ;)

I am so excited about this blog! I am not even an animal person but 2 days ago I looked at my husband and said "Rod we need to pray for Beth's dog." What is even more funny is that when I talk to him about Beth he knows who I am talking about. He couldn't believe that I was moved to compassion over a dog...but I was. On another note...I am so thankful for LPM. I met Beth at the Birmingham AL event (I was the one called out who lost the baby after the Patriarchs taping). I have grown so much through trekking through the word together. I don't know where I would have been had God not used this ministry to pull me out of the pit. Anyway, I long for Jesus to come and call us to meet Him in the air. I know my longing for Him is a direct result of the word from all of the studies I have done. I can't thank God enough. Anyway, the other night I was holding my daughter...as we were about to go to bed I turned and out of the corner of my eye I saw a bright light. My heart began to pound. I carried my daughter with me to look out the window. My husband was watching me and he knew what I was doing..I thought that Jesus was about to light up that sky and that we were about to be out of here. This happens so often...as our neighbors keep late hours... and I will wake up to bright lights in the window. There have been some nights where I have seen the break lights got up and fallen to my knees (I was going to go ahead and bow my knees ...just in case He was about to come!)only for it to be a false alarm!! Anyway, I am just longing for that glorious appearing and I know I wouldn't be where I am without God using this ministry in my life! I love you all! I pray for you constantly!

Beth and Amanda, you both "blob" so well. I am thankful that God is allowing you to hear from and speak to your many girlfriends. I hope it blesses your socks off! Also I give praise and thanks to God for Him saying to your sweet Sunny, (in your own words) "Do it again!" Amen? Thanks for making God a blast to me.

Love in Him

Beth,
I am so excited to hear that Sunny is doing better. I have been praying for her like crazy. God is so wonderful to care about everything we care about and we have the right to pray about anything! (you taught us that) You make it alright for me to be a dog freak, I love that. I understand everything you are feeling about Sunny because I am going thru that with my dog Topper. We will continue to pray for the both of you! I am excited about the Simulcast but as of now I can't find anywhere in Tennessee that is hosting the event. I wrote CCN to see if they could direct me to the information. I will pray about this Simulcast and I know God is going to show up in a BIG way!! I was reading in Get out of that Pit last night and I can just hear the excitement when Melissa calls you about the Word. I love that God prepares a table for us in the presence of our enemies. I had not paid attention to the next part until last night in your book. He anoints us with oil and our enemies have to watch!! Now, in my quiet time this morning God kept leading me to verses about the anointing and it went right along with my reading last night. This excites me because I have been under attack by the enemy (and it seems like all the time) and God showed me this vision of a banner waving over my head and it was attached to two poles and the banner was white with one word written on it, VICTORY!! The Lord is our Banner and praise God he delights in us and rescues us!! May all those who are in a pit see God's Victory Banner waving over them today!! Beth, we are crazy about you and crazy about Jesus and we are crazy about this Blob! (too funny). Give Sunny and big hug from me today!
I love you,
Patty

So glad to hear of Sunny's improvement, I bet her buddy being back from the hunting trip has been good for her. I know God is always there and He answer's our prayers, sometimes with a yes and sometimes with a no. I am glad for right now God says yes for Sunny. Sounds like she is feeling pretty chirper now.
Blessings & prayers,

Girls, I think your "blob" is fabulous. And your sweet ministry is even fabulous-er. Because that's totally a word. At least it is here in Alabama. ;-)

Love your hearts. More than you know. And I'm sending that sweet puppy some sugar all the way from Birmingham.

Like I already mentioned in my comment after the Simulcast post, I will be at Green Acres to hear you! I grew up in Tyler and live here now, with my husband and 3 kids. We attend Green Acres and and are so excited to have you come. My mom was there the first time you came to GABC to speak many years ago, and she is the one who introduced me to your studies. God has used you in both of our lives to spur us on...to "do the thing"! My mom and I will be there that Saturday, and we will also be there in Shreveport with several of my friends! What a blessing it is to share these experiences with my mom.
I can't wait to hear Travis again! (I saw you in Little Rock a couple of years ago) and let me tell you...the worship was powerful! (as if you didn't know,ha!) I am so happy he is going to be there too!
I am thanking God for Sunny's improvement! I know you are too! :)

Beth,
This is so fun! Thank ya'll so much for doing this. Amanda, thanks for keeping your mom up to date:) I, too, have a daughter named Amanda, who keeps me in the "know" about stuff. So thankful to hear about sweet Sunny! I believe for you that you have many more "Sunny" days ahead. I'm looking forward to the Simulcast in Little Rock and I'll see you in March in Shreveport.
Glory!

It might be fun to post some thing we have prayed for that seems crazy but was serious at the time. Once I prayed for a whole year for a child I didn't know to get potty trained so he could go to the children's bible study while his mom was in our group study. God, in His time, heard our prayers! :)

Beth,

I'm glad to hear Sunny is feeling better. I will be praying for you and Sunny.

My beloved dog Buffy went to doggy heaven last year after us being together for 15 years. Loosing a beloved animal is very hard, but then so is life at times. But Jesus is there to comfort us and I am so blessed by what I have learn of Him via your teachings and ministry. May you & your family be drenched in His abundant blessings continually!

Hugs from fellow Texan, dog loving, dog crazy Christian!

Beth And Amanda,
Please pray for my dog Topper. I had to take him to the emergency pet clinic last night. When they examined him he cried and cried. They said they found parasites that was causing him to be sick and put him on meds to clear that up. I have to put him on a special diet. I am praying the meds will work and praying that he doesn't have cancer. Also, I couldn't help but think of Sunny. How is she? I have been praying for her and so have my friends. Have a blessed day.
Love,
Patty

I was scrapbooking w/ women this past weekend & when two of them told me their stories of having to put down their furbabies; I started crying! (We have a 4 yr old golden retriever)

I asked them, "do you think I'm crazy? I've actually prayed for a good family to take care of her when the rapture happens" -- my dear sisters were very supportive and told me "no" that they understood completely!

I've also prayed that my house doesn't burn down -- I want people to break into it and find our Bibles & books; that if I'm driving my van, carting kids around that I don't kill any unbelievers AND that if at all possible, I'd like to be in the cemetary visiting the gravesite of believing family members when it happens. ?!?

I figure the dead in Christ go first, by the time I gasp, then I'll be next! My dear sisters laughed at me then, but that's OK! I still think it would be the most exciting place to be!

Blessings to you all!
