Drive Thru the Bible Vol. 2

Good morning, Siestas! I hope everyone is doing well today. We are often asked about Bible study materials for men, so I thought I would take a minute to let you know about a new one available from Curtis Jones, AKA my husband. Most of you know that Curtis' role at LPM is to create resources with your men in mind (whether your husbands, sons, fathers, grandfathers, or friends). This new resource is called Drive Thru the Bible Volume Two: The Holy Spirit and the Acts of the Apostles. It's a CD set consisting of twenty-five 7-10 minute messages that your guy can listen to on the way to work or school or wherever he may go. This is basically a 25-day supply of on-the-road devotionals.

You can also find Curtis' Drive Thru the Bible Volume One: The Life of Elijah and his Turbulent Times 3-CD set in our online store. The Turbulent Times CD set would be great for the young adult in your life.

Just scroll through the CD Studies section of our online store and you'll see them there.

Tomorrow we'll have our fourth So Long Insecurity discussion post. I'm really excited about this one because Beth made a video for us. It's been a while since we've done one of those! Be sure to come back tomorrow for a word from your Siesta Mama. Have a great day!

Oh yay! This looks great. I'll have to get it for myself and just happen to leave it in the truck CD player for you-know-who!! {smile}

Thanks for serving the Body ~

I did NOT know this is what your husband does. I could cry because well,I may very well be blind, but I can't find many (hardly any?) studies for men whereas we women can be glutted with them. I'm so very appreciative of all that's available to women, but my husband is in desperate need of something. Maybe this will be something that grabs him. blessings to Curtis!!

Rosie, I'll be praying for you. You just take care of those boys and for God's sake buy a copy of So Long Insecurity. And you are going to love Atlanta.

Amanda -
Oh great! I have been wanting to get my sons started in a study, but have been cautious because I didn't know the writers of the ones I've seen.
I'll take a look at those today.
Thanks a bunch.

Thanks Amanda!! My husband just got a job today, after months of looking. Praise GOD!! It will require him to make day trips from time to time, so I'm going to order this for him to have in the car as he drives! I know he'll love it!

This is amazing. God has ACTS all in my face these days. My women's Bible Study is doing the book of Acts and reading Forgotten God by Francis Chan (about the Holy Spirit). Now what an awesome listening tool for Acts. . I think I want it for me too! Sounds so great!
Thanks for all the hard work your ministry does to help us out in this crazy world!

P.S...When is Curtis going to do a DVD-driven Bible Study for men? My husband is looking for one to do with the men in our church and it would be GREAT if Curtis would do one....just a thought.
Thanks again!

Hi Amanda,

My husband and two son-in-laws are so thrilled that Curtis has a new volume two. They loved volume one!!

My husband has been a believer for many years but he credits Curtis with getting our son-in-laws to want to learn about and love the Lord.

My husband wants to "Thank" Curtis for his inspiration to men. He has helped my favorite guys get to know and grow a personal relationship with each other but most importantly with our Lord.

Amanda, I'm sorry this has nothing to do with your post, but I needed to get this message out to Mama Beth!

Dear Beth,
Thank you so much for being with me this morning! I had a closed MRI this morning to hopefully diagnose the cause of hip pain I've been having since January. This is the first time I've ever had an MRI and I was quite nervous about being claustrophobic! The technician asked me what music I wanted to listen to. I was hoping for KLove, but instead got a local "talk radio" Christian station. Just a few minutes in, I heard some familiar music, Hebrews 4:12, and finally ... my Siesta Mama! Your sweet voice brought the comfort of Jesus to me throughout the MRI. I only wish I could have heard you teach for the entire 30 minutes! The minute I did get helped put me at ease. Thank you so much!

Much love to you,
Kim

Thanks for dedicating effort and energy into creating resources for men...such a needed ministry. I will order them for my husband and pray that they're well received. Thanks Curtis for wearing raggedy baseball caps...makes it so much easier to present materials from a guy NOT looking like a glittery televangelist.

Hey! So TOTALLY not related to this post, but did anyone else watch Oprah? I never do, but I saw that Jessica Simpson was going to be on, addressing the media scrutiny of her weight. It was SOOOOO along the lines of what we're talking about with So Long Insecurity! SO right there. I wished Beth was there to share her book, because it just FIT! Just wondering if you guys had seen or heard about it! :)
