Jackson's 4th Birthday

Hi ladies! I'm here with a few pictures from Jackson's 4th birthday. We took him to lunch at a place called IT'Z on his actual birthday, which was Wednesday the 17th. We had such a great time and I ended up being very thankful that we made a big deal out of the day.

Jackson had a gymnastics party with his friends last Sunday evening at a local gym. It was great fun but I only know that because Curtis videotaped the whole thing. Unfortunately, I came down with a stomach virus the night before and wasn't able to be there. Doesn't that stink? I was so sad! My mom and several of my friends texted me throughout the party, giving me updates about what was going on. That helped. Other than missing the party and having one awful hour of being pretty sick, it wasn't so bad having to spend a whole day in the bed. But I've woken up everything morning this week thanking God that no one in my family got sick in the night. Praise Him!

Here's my boy waking up as a four-year-old. He likes to sleep on the floor sometimes.

Presents and donuts!

This was from his buddy Jayk, but he hadn't seen it set up until that morning.

We almost had the whole place to ourselves.

Jackson got some toy handcuffs and a police whistle, badge, etc. with his tickets from all the games. This is what happened on the way home. Despite his smile, he wasn't very amused!

This was one really neat part of the birthday party. I would have more pictures except most of them turned out blurry. The kids were constantly on the move!

Poor things. They were so thirsty!

This was Jackson's T-rex cake. It was almond flavored. So yummy!

Jackson was inspecting his happy birthday medal.

Have a great weekend, Siestas. And may the stomach bug be far from you and yours!
Love,
Amanda

just had to brag on the Lord. We got to pick up our baby boy a couple of days ago!!!

Amanda I met you at the Siesta Scripture Memory Celebration and briefly mentioned our recent adoption had fallen through....but praise the Lord, He had a plan!

Psalm 119:3 was one of my scripture memory verses from 2009!
"He settles the barren woman in her home as the happy mother of children. Praise the Lord."

LOVE the party pix! SO FUN! As much as we moms hate to miss our children's b-day parties, they really only remember the good stuff! I was sick on my son's 13th b-day...the whole family went to a really cool restaurant and I was home with a bowl by my bed. He is almost 17 now and as we were planning what restaurant for the whole family to go to for a celebration, I mentioned my not being there for his 13th and guess what...yep, he didn't even remember my not being there! You made the right call and yay that no one else got sick...you're a good mommy!

Sweet Amanda,
Glad to hear you are feeling better. We had one that hit at the beginning of that same week! My hubby and I had just gotten back from vacation and my son woke up throwing up at 4:00 that Monday morning....so I can join your praise that no one else has fallen victim to the bug in our house! It looks like Jackson had such a great birthday...all the way around. I know as a mom myself how hard it would have been to miss the party... Thanks for the sweet, sweet pics of the kids! Have a splendid weekend!

In Him,
Andrea

It looked like yall had so much fun! Jackson is such a cutie, he's gonna be so handsome when he grows up!

When I saw the pic of Jackson in the handcuffs I cracked up cause I remembered when you wrote on your other blog that you and your mom had to wait for some people to walk past your house before you got him out of the car because of how disturbing it might look to see a child in handcuffs! Ha, I loved it! Yall are so much fun, have a great weekend!

I missed my son's 9th birthday party because of the flu -- there are a few pictures, but not many since I am the picture taker in the family -- but my boy had fun andd that's all that mattered. of course this year he asked if I was going to come to his party and I declared "Why Yes!"---then he decided to have a sleepover with four other boys and asked me to vacate the premisis with his brother and sister....now that's heartbreaking....

The picture of Jackson in the lap of Curtis inside the game...it struck me as such a picture of us and God. He is sitting so proudly in his Papa's lap looking where they are going on the game but Papa is steering the way. He isn't trying to help steer - just to watch where they are going. Oh, if we could always not try to steer - just trust, watch and enjoy the ride!

My 3 children are 3 years apart and the last two have birthdays 1 week apart so they always are on the same weekday. They are a tad bit older then yours. Enjoy because it is true that they grow up fast.

Love the pictures! My family has had the "bug" thing as well. My b-day and anniversary was on 2/24/10 and my husband, 2 of 4 kids, and myself had this bug. On top of that my husband lost his job. This is a silly, random comment. Beth - as I was getting ready for church this morning I thought of something you could add to the Esther study if you ever do a revision: "it's toug being a woman when putting on panty hose!!" I'm not sure there is a spiritual connection there, but that is what crossed my mind while getting ready today. :)

On a serious note: may God bless your morning together with His saints!

So sweet! When my oldest turned four, I had his yellow smiley face cake (think the smiley faces from 1970) already made and sitting on the counter (my was I feeling smug about getting that cake done early!). Then, around 4am he woke up throwing up. Had to cancel the party and we didn't get around to celebrating - with a REAL party until six months later (we just turned his Jan bday into a July bday).

I remember being in the kitchen cleaning him up at 4am and looking over at that darn yellow smiley face cake sitting on the counter - mocking me it was, I tell you.

I'm glad you all survived Jackson's 4th. Four is such a blast - old enough to do so much; but still cute as little buttons. ENJOY!

Did I spy Shipley's donuts on the table on his bd morning? How hilarious. I had no idea they weren't just local to the Nashville area. And to this day, my three teenagers LOVE to wake up on their bd's with Shipley's awaiting! One particularly hectic year, I had to call ahead and make sure they were open at 5:30am, because, of course, only fresh ones will do :)

Uh-oh, I hope the bug hasn't travelled all the way to Idaho. I'm feeling a little icky. I'm hoping I'm not getting a stomach bug. Right now, I'm just weak and have a little bit of a tummy ache. Not so bad that I think I'm going to be spending a lot of time in the bathroom, but if it's a bug it'll probably get that way. Although, I don't usually get real sick. Even when my family's miserable I'm pretty functional with the same bug. Not when it comes to stomach stuff, though. If my stomach bothers me, even a tiny bit, I am a big wimp! I missed my daughter, Angela's, 7th birthday. We have more pictures of that birthday than any other because I was at home with a stomach issue. I'm not sure it was even a bug. It was just real upset. (Like I said, I'm a wimp. I never even actually got sick! I was afraid I was going to though!) Anyway, my family wanted me to see as much of what happened as possible, so tons of pictures. I felt horrible. It was her last big birthday party with friends. We don't do that anymore. Too expensive!
