The Big Day!

So long insecurity, you've been a bad friend to us!

Mom is going to be doing some book signings in Atlanta, Nashville, Birmingham, and Houston. You can check out the dates, times and locations by going to the So Long Insecurity web site and clicking the Book Tour tab. Here's a more direct link.

Mom, your daughters are so proud of you! Thank you for investing in us and in the lives of countless women. We pray God will use this message to bring freedom in the name of Jesus. We praise You, Lord! Be glorified!

Oh my heavens how I wished I lived close enough to go to a book signing! I am soooo excited.

And to add to the great pictures - Annabeth! What a cutie patuutie!! I love the outfits she wears and the fact that she wears things in her hair! My daughter told me to go away a LONG time ago and leave her hair alone! (she is 7 now)

I am praying for a massive number of women to pick this book up, read it, and get back into God's words. He has so much to say thru great writers like you, Ms. Beth.

Thanks for sharing!

I thank the LORD for this- in a team meeting for the high school ministry I serve with- I was reminded of how EARLY insecurities start...may this journey to victory give us a new passion that it would be so deeply planted in our lives we can pass it along to the next generation!

I have a more personal message, but it is best left for a personal forum rather than on a public blog.

Thank you so much for investing in us...and oftentimes I'm sure at the expense of those you love the most!

I was fortunate enough to win one at the Siesta get-together and have already been reading it. Lots of AMENS coming out of my mouth, leaving my husband and 5 sons scratching their adorable little heads.
I feel blessed to live in such a time where God has so clearly annointed someone and I am lucky enough to sit under that annoiting! Keep up the Good Work. It is already reaping such a harvest.

I've only read chapter one - Mad Enough to Change....but WOW....I'm going to grow from this!! It hit me when I read the words..."Something's wrong with us for us to value ourselves so little."

When I was young the people who were the most mean to me attended our Church. I wanted Church to be my safe place because it was where God was close to me. But that was shattered when I was 8 years old. I didn't know I was considered a heavy child until a Christian brought it to my attention and I have hated the way I look ever since.

The book says "our culture has thrown us under the bus" and I'm ready to get out from under it and climb aboard to ride this journey.

I'm already loving this book!!!!

And as soon as I saw the comment to the Siestas about "wait till you see Chapter 7" I sat right down on the floor next to the display of So Long Insecurity books and read the entire chapter... because I am not good at delayed gratification. Oh my. After I read it, I just prayed and was so grateful for this community of siestas, the LPM staff, our Siesta Mama and her beautiful daughters.

Now, back to chapter 1.

Dear Beth -
I don't think saying, "Thank you," is enough! I read the first chapter from the internet and had tears in my eyes. It is so encouraging to know I am NOT THE ONLY ONE. I think the longer we walk with the LORD the more we hate ourselves for dealing with this silly issue. It is paralyzing. Nobody wants to talk about it because we fear further judgement will come. May God bring millions of women into freedom through this book. I am going to go buy it now.

Love you Mama Beth! You are so rockin' in the annointing God has laid upon your life!

Prayers and blessings to all who read or listen to this book!

Amanda's last line "to bring freedom in the name of Jesus" reminded me of Luke 4:18-19, the very mission of Jesus "to proclaim liberty to the captives." May God's anointing be on this message indeed!! Looking forward to getting the book in my hands later this week!

I am going to try to keep this short so you can read it!

I was out running around this morning, and I remembered before I even left the house that our Siesta Momma had her book coming out this morning!

I stopped at Barnes and Noble before I headed home and got it. First time I ever got a book on the day it was released! :) Only for Beth! :) lol

I will be one of those who reads ahead and then backs up and slows down... after this weekend that is!

Please pray for me and my fellow women at our church. I am part of the organizational team for our first ever women's retreat at our church. It's this weekend.

It is our first one, in at least 30 years. We have an average attendance of 140 a week, and figured that we would be really happy if we had only 15 or so sign up to come. We have 28. It's one overnight, we have a speaker, and I am leading worship, among other things.

we are hitting some major spiritual attack going into the weekend! Please, pray for us!!!! We need it!

I am so grateful for your ministry and encouragement to step outside of our comfort zones. Trusting in God for my security this weekend! This is sure one huge step out for me, and I am plagued with the concerns that I am not doing this right, etc. The old insecurities of mine are hitting big time.. along with depression and anxiety, though not as crippling as it has been in the past, it still is "leaving me with a major limp" shall we say.

Thank you for your prayers and ministry!
Love,
Heather

Simulcast meeeting just hours ago. Friend followed me home to chat about God's equipping and our desperate need to stay personally equipped when we are so responsible to many. Hosting church is giving tickets to the local resident women's homeless shelter. The 14 residents will graduate from their 10 month program April 30. What a great opportunity for them to be among other women, agreeing, laughing, crying, healing, being freed. We included teens in our Esther study and are excited for them to participate in SLI too.

Hey Amanda - thanks for sharing this post. I love the name Anna. It's your daughter's first name and my daughter's middle name.

The "Anna" in Lily Anna (my ten year old) is named after Anna of Asher (Luke 2:36) who I have to believe was a woman who had the insecurity issue beat. For most of her life she didn't have the security of a husband - but made the temple her home and had no proclivities about speaking openly to everyone about Jesus - even in His considerable youth (8 days).

I hope your Annabeth and my Lily Anna have a security fastened solely on the One Who alone can keep us truly secure.

Thanks, Beth, for being a great grandma and a great Siesta! I hope God uses this book like a scalpel and like a balm for many in Siestaville and beyond ~

I wasn't really sure I was going to buy the book...I kind of wanted to participate in the online discussion, though. Out of curiosity I perused the book online at Barnes and Noble. I read about 4 sentences and drove straight to B&N and bought the book. I was feeling weird buying the book wondering who I would run into...and then I wanted to take the cover off when I arrived at home with it! Do you think I have some insecurities??! :-) It will be a good read for me, and I am looking forward to some much needed growth in that area.
