Jackson Hole Top 10
*I'm so sorry that the blog has looked wonky for the last couple of days. I wasn't sure what happened to it, but I tried removing all the bold sentences from this post and that fixed it. Thanks for your patience, sweet siestas!*
Top ten reasons to ditch Houston in August and head to Jackson Hole, Wyoming
1. There are days when the temperature will make you wonder if it's December. And you will start singing Christmas carols without realizing it.

2. Instead of dead armadillos on the road, they've got these guys.

3. There are no billboards, no skyscrapers, and no sidewalks so hot you can fry eggs on them.

4. Your man might go for a hike and come back with something like this.

5. You won't have to wait until February to go to the rodeo.

That is my son drinking hot chocolate in August.

My future cowgirl and me.

6. There are good burgers to be had beyond our state's borders.
Oh, Billy's Burgers, how we heart you.

7. When life slows down, funny things happen.
That's a bagel in Jackson's mouth.

Annabeth's thumb sucking + our occasional heater use in the cabin + much drier air than we're used to = a very raw hand. Bless her heart, we had to put ointment on it and cover it with a sock at night.

She fell backwards and landed right in her brother's lap. He was so tickled.

Annabeth fell asleep while we were at a cookout. She had to have her thumb, of course.

8. Your hair may go bump-it in the night.
You are looking at God-given bump-it, siestas.

9. You might see a grizzly bear. Preferably from your car.
(This is zoomed in - we would never get that close.)

10. Yellowstone National Park is like the Disney World of Nature. You cannot believe how much cool stuff is in one place.
We got there early in the morning in hopes of seeing more animals.

Behind Curtis and Jackson you can see everyone waiting to watch Old Faithful.

And there it is.

I'm not sure what this is. Maybe Jackson was excited about the dirt on his hands.

Can you see the rainbow?

River water going over the Lower Falls.

This picture makes the bottom of my feet hurt. Does that happen to anyone else when they look down from up high?

After seeing it from close up, we drove down the road and saw the Lower Falls from a distance.

Was just there last year...and what sweet memories these bring to mind....ONLY GOD could create such beauty. We are just awe-struck at the power of water....just think of all it's uses; it cleans, it feeds the creation and us, shine the light through it and we have glorious rainbows and promise from God to remember us and not flood the world again, harnessed it give us power/electricity, etc. He gives us Living Water - eternal. Thanks for sharing your wonderful trip...I had a little vacation too...blessings from the Lord God Almighty. Heaven must just be the most amazing and wonderful place!
I love living here. It just takes your breath away to live in all this beauty. Yellowstone and the Tetons are incredible. Your pictures were a perfect portrayal of this area.
While I still live a few hours from Yellowstone/Jackson/the Tetons, I have an elk and buffalo park at the end of my street...really. And I live in town. Only in Wyoming!
Melana in Wyoming
I can assure you that we never tire of pictures or hearing from all of you! Looks like a wonderful vacation!
Absolutely beautiful!!! You could never post enough pictures of your family. We love to see them!!!
What beautiful photos...absolutely beautiful! And I did see the rainbow...:)
Sleeping Jackson with bagel in mouth was just too funny! And sock on Annabeth just too adorable.
It looks like such a wonderful place to visit. Thanks for sharing.

I do totally love Wyoming. That truly is God's country. I don't think I've ever been another place where I grasped God's splendor as well as Wyoming.
You had me until grizzly bear! Nope, I'll stay here on the surface of the sun, er I mean South Texas!
But it is GORGEOUS Country! I hear that is where God goes on vacation. ;) I'm SURE that you saw Him there! Great pictures. When we took a photo at the falls I had to back into the shot, ugh I hate standing at the edge of that little piece of cement holding onto that little piece of railing. Looks like you had a great time, thanks for sharing.
GORGEOUS! I am putting Jackson Hole on my "travel wish list!"
Love your pictures, love Jackson Hole, love the Tetons, love Yellowstone. It's amazing.
these are all FANtastic photos! love them - now I want to go :)
Looks like you & your family had a blast!
Gorgeous!! I haven't been to Yellowstone since 6th grade! Would LOVE to take our girlies!
We also went to a rodeo in Cody (is that anywhere near JH?)
Can't wait for more pics! Can't believe you saw that gigundo bear!!
I grew up in Montana, near Big Sky, and whenever company from out of state or out of town would come, we'd head to Yellowstone. I could have been a tour guide back then, and I hated going there... I haven't been in years, and these photos just brought it all back... I have a feeling I'd appreciate the beauty of it all so much more now. I may have to go someday soon. (and I need to remember to pack my bump it.)
What beautiful scenery!
Absolutely breathtaking photos, thanks for sharing your trip with us.
Your pictures are wonderful! They make me long to see the beauty that God made up-close and personal. I need to plan a trip to Wyoming!
Our family has been in some of those same exact spots. Great memories and great things to praise the Lord over!
Yay! Pictures! My feet hurt when I look down from high places, too. It's not just you. Do you ever get the feeling that your falling forward, too? Thanks for posting the pictures, Amanda! Can't wait for the next batch! God bless!
One day God is going to bless me to be able to see those things with my own eyes and take my own pictures. Can't wait till then.
Great pictures Amanda. I have been to Jackson Hole 1 time but it was to ski and snow was everywhere. It is a cool town. Can't wait for more pics. Your kiddos are just precious.
My hubby's feet tingle when he is up high. I never noticed that mine did too until he pointed it out- anythig scary and they tingle-away.
Ah, Yellowstone! One of my favorite places on earth! And speaking of temperature... we've been snowed on there in the middle of the summer!
I want to go now!!!! Love the wildlife that you guys saw, so cool!! And the scenery, just breathtaking, simply beautiful!!
Absolutely gorgeous. Jackson Hole is on my list...someday:) So glad you had fun. Thanks for sharing your playlist. I'm looking forward to checking them all out.
Yellowstone, the Tetons and Wyoming are definitely beautiful, but... come for a visit to Alaska!! God must have had a wonderful time creating Alaska!
Amanda, I am so jealous! This is one of my most favorite places in the continental U.S. to visit! Beautiful, gorgeous doesn't begin to describe it. Now, I ask you..how can anyone look at those majestic Tetons and think God doesn't exist Thank you for sharing your pictures and I look forward to more.
Thanks so much for sharing Amanda. Love the pictures. You are so sweet just like your mom. We love your family as much as our own. Keep them pictures coming. Love ya'll, Mary Anne
Love it! Thank you so much for sharing that!!
That's it......I have GOT to get to Wyoming sometime very soon. Absolutely gorgeous and there is something very appealing about hanging out while buffalo cross the road.
I could almost feel the peacefulness coming right out of those pictures!
I love it that Annabeth's bow was sticking out from under her sweatshirt hoodie :)
Oh, Amanda, I took my two sons to this area of the world when they were in elementary school. What a beautiful and remarkable opportunity for us- we rode, rafted, fished on and on-(one son caught a large fish as a Bear worked his way up the side of the clift) my my this dangerous encounter-The photo proved to be quiet impressive! and I "listened" to the Tetons- Oh yes, Listened to the Tetons- I'm not sure any other natural range of this magnificence has ever made a noise(spoken to) me other than the ocean- I love the ocean and love to ski in the mountains of Colorado and Utah- but other than the Atlantic Ocean, I have never "heard" God's land speak except for the Tetons- Thank you for this traveling reflection- You bless us,-An Aunt
Siesta
I went there when I was 10 and I remember all those views. Spectacular and such an amazing example of God's work. Looking forward to my husband and our children seeing it. Glad you had a great trip!
Those photos are AMAZING!!!
I have never been to Jackson Hole, but I think I feel that trip coming on!!!
Thanks for sharing your family vacation!
BLESSINGS AND LOVE!!!
What beautiful pictures. I have never been up that way. Maybe next August. : )
Living in Idaho my whole life, I've been to Yellowstone & Jackson Hole several times, however I found out recently my husband has never been to Jackson Hole so I told him we would have to plan a trip sometime. He would love it as I do.
Beautiful pics you've shared, Thanks. Glad you had a relaxing and wonderful vacation.
Thank you for sharing so much of your family with all of us! We love getting to know you better! It looks like a marvelous vacation! I have never been out there. Someday! God is simply AWESOME! What a creator!
Amanda I also live in Wyoming and I love it. The Grizzly Bear was a great sighting for you. I am going Elk Hunting in 27 days with hubby and we will be in Jackson. I so want to see a bear. Maybe from a car though not up close and personal. Will be taking the grizzly spray. It is getting cold here. However would love to experience Houston someday.
Darcie L. Sheridan, WY
Hey Amanda, I hope you didn't carry your sweet girlie on your hip through all of Yellowstone! That is a steep climb from the top of the falls.
I worked there for one summer during college~at Old Faithful Lodge. AND it was THERE that I was presented the Gospel of Jesus Christ! Yellowstone will always have a special place in my heart!
(and yes, Cody is very close to Yellowstone, about 50 miles.)
There is just one thing missing from your Wyoming post, and that is the state motto:
COWBOY UP!
;)

Thanks for the photos.I would love to go out to the western part of the States. There is so much I have not seen!
The view from the falls reminded me of a young lady at our church. Earlier this summer she fell from the top of a waterfall and survived. Thank Goodness.Keep her in your prayers. She is still mending.
I like your new site look. It is good to have a change every once in a while. It took me a minute to find where the blog link had moved but I am made it.
Wow! Some of those pics are just breathtaking... I can only imagine what it looked like actually being there. What a beautiful state! I'd love to go sometime!
P.S. Loving your bump it picture sista! Ha!!
What great pictures! My sweet hubby and I went to Jackson Hole for our honeymoon in March of 1997. We spent one night at the Turpin Meadow Ranch and went on a day-long snowmobiling trip through Yellowstone. Oh how I remember the Rusty Parrot in JH! It looks like y'all had a fabulous time! Thanks for sharing the pictures.

This was our vacation this summer! LOVED IT! I told my husband that I wanted to retire in Jackson Hole, and I meant it. I have never loved anywhere like I love the Tetons. It's so fun to see someone else's pictures that were exactly the locations where we took ours.
I have never been to Wyoming, but feel like I have been after seeing all of your beautiful pictures.
Thank you for sharing part of your vacation with us.
I'm so glad y'all had such a great time and made wonderful memories to treasure for a life time.
What a sweet family you have!
I love pictures and am looking forward to more. :)
Have a blessed weekend!

Wow, I feel like I was on vacation with you all! Thanks for sharing God's beauty with us.
Thanks for taking us along on vacation! Wish Wyoming wasn't so far across the country from Georgia! Looks like loads of fun!
Amanda,
You have such a beautiful way of expressing yourself. And your pictures were priceless. What a lovely way to capture the memories of your time together - and what a precious gift you are giving your children with these "scrapbook" of times with your family. I know these blogs will be cherished by your kids when they get older.
Okay, gotta go. I'm going to Expedia.com to book a trip to Jackson Hole. Don't think I've ever seen a place where our Lord's majesty was on such glorious display.
Blessings,
Gretchen

It's such a beautiful place and we always feel so blessed for being there. Only wish we could go more than one time a year!!! Thanks for sharing!!

The photos make me want to visit. Jackson is a mini Curtis: ) Amazing! You have a precious family Amanda. Thanks for sharing. B
Your pictures are priceless!!! Nice work at handing the camera off so you are in them too. Just an idea - take those photos of God's creation, add some of God's precious WORD and make them into the most stunning art work for your home! Your heart will be amazed. It is one of my favorite things to do.
Thanks for sharing - now I want to go out and take some more pictures!!
WOW. We have friends that just moved to Wyoming and we are planning to go visit them soon...I was planning a trip to Yellowstone while we were there and now you made me want to go TODAY!!
Amanda, thank you for sharing your fabulous pictures. I have been so many places but never there. It is on my bucket list.
I can't believe how mature Jackson looks in these pictures. He is becoming a little man. Your children are precious. The picture of Anna Beth falling in Jackson's lap is priceless.

Melana... "Moose Mama"
How fun to have moose and buffalo in your back yard! Can't imagine living near such beauty! Wow! : )
I just wanted you to know that Trevor Morgan was in my youth group growing up and would lead worship for our retreats after he graduated! It blessed my heart so much to see his name on your top 10 list! Beautiful pictures!
Amanda, we were there during the same week that you guys were there. Saw that same bear feasting on that elk carcass every single day. Your picture sent my husband back to his mad rant about wishing he had purchased a zoom lens before our trip. I can't wait to start working on our scrapbook. And we will definitely be planning a trip to go back. Thanks for taking a vacation with us. Sort of.:-)
Beautiful indeed! South Dakota was like this and we ventured into Wyoming also - just got back . . . Yellowstone is on our list of "to go" places, but we are planning on Yosemite next in the Spring - we love the outdoors.
You have the most beautiful little family! Your babies are precious! : ) Looks like y'all had an awesome time taking in the fabulous God-sights! Love the pictures!
Those are beautiful pictures Amanda! Can't wait to see more :)
I can't wait till the days of cool weather, sweatshirts, and hot chocoloate!
WOW!!!! I've never seen that part of the world, my friend. Thank you so much for sharing. What great pictures.
P.S. You've inspired me to take more pictures. Thinking of you today as I am making my Devin (4 year old son) his star student poster. Yes, I'm letting him color and cut...thanks for the heads-up!!! :-)

Amanda -
thanks for the photos, I love 'em.
Now girl friend that was a water fall. It was so beautiful, and yes I did see the rainbow. I'm an artist and I want to paint a scenery like that over my bathtub....just hadn't got to it yet. oh well
I like the photo of the baby what? buffalo? following his mommy.
Blows my mind that it was that cold in August.
Cool........Thanks again, can't wait to see more.
Becky
Two summers ago my nature loving husband and I spent a week at Yellowstone and the Tetons. Beautiful and amazing!!!!!
I did think of Beth several times during the trip. She has either filmed studies from or spoken of the Tetons so many times that I couldn't help but think of her as we relished in the grandeur and the wildlife.
I'd go back in a minute. I asked my husband several times, "and why do we live in West Texas and not up here." To which he'd reply, "The winters" =)))
I can't wait to go there one day. Our son wants us to quit our jobs, get an RV and hit the road. I'm always amazed that someone can see nature like that and still doubt the existance of the one, true LORD!
Peace,

Amanda, THANK YOU for all the pictures! I feel like I went on vacation with you and your family, and I "THANK YOU" very much!
Just beautiful! Wish we were closer to there!
I was there 30 years ago, it was awesome. Thanks for all the pics Amanda truly beautiful I have lost all of mine over the years. That baby girl is growing so....fast! What a great trip for you all.
Don't you just love road trips with Christian music? one seems to just notice God's beautiful creations more.
Love ya, Sue B
I don't think we can ever have too many pictures!! It looks like you had a relaxing time. My dad just loves that part of the country!
love,
Audrey
ps-we have a post-thumb sucker, but we had to do similar things to keep his thumb from falling apart. Fun thing is, you could do just about anything to babies at that age and they still look incredibly cute!
Thanks so much for sharing! Can't wait to see the rest
They are absolutely beautiful!!
Amazingly beautiful pictures, Amanda! I really liked the one with the rainbow in it. Can't wait to see more pictures! I looks like you had a really great time! Love the pics of Jackson with the bagel in his mouth and Annabeth sleeping with her thumb in her mouth! Have a wonderful weekend!

Stunning photos of Wyoming; sweet ones of your family. Love the rainbow in the trees, and your bump-it :)
Went to Wyoming when I was 15 and will never forget horseback riding through the hills--not on a trail! So new for a Southern California girl.

My brother lives outside of Casper and I've never been up there to see him. I need to go see that part of the country. Thanks for sharing such great pictures. It's also hard to belive that people actually wear jackets in August when its in the 100's down here in Texas.
Amanda,
Those pics are amazing. Looks like a great vacation place. Glad y'all had some family time with such beautiful surroundings.
Yellowstone and Jackson Hole - two of my favorite places! The beauty of God's creation is all around.

My middle child was a thumb-sucker most precious, stubborn thing ever (child and habit) LOL!
She finally stopped when she was 7 years old. It was hard to convince her to stop, but those pictures make me miss that stage....sweet :)
and a new website to boot!!!!!!
Thank you for sharing. What a great family trip.

What a beautiful country that we live in! I could feel that cool crisp air just looking at your pictures. Love the sock picture and the hot cocoa picture...so sweet. Yes to the foot question. I felt a tingle just looking at that photo. Thanks so much for sharing your vacation with us.
My family and I are also from the Houston and spent last week in Ruidoso, New Mexico. What a change -- no humidity and low morning temps ... but Houston is still home and when we returned - a much needed rain was here! Its always nice to be in a different climate but also nice to come home.

Wow! Awesome pix! I love the mountains - hopefully will be able to move to them in a few years. Florida heat and humidity is nearly as bad as Texas'.
Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
It's so fun to see pictures! And you have me counting down like crazy until next July. :) Oh, and just seeing the pictures made me play Christmas music, which I've been playing for awhile now just because I love it so much. Have a great weekend!
I am so excited!! Thanks for sharing your photos! We live in VA and my husband and I are thinking about taking our kids (dd14 and ds 11) out west to tour around in the summer of 2010. One place my dughter and husband want to see is Yellowstone. After seeing your pictures I cannot wait!
"Just Wanna Say" is the most frequently played song on my iPod right now. It always makes me dance! Glad to know you enjoy it, too.
Great pictures! Can't wait to see more!
Love ya!
Absolutely gorgeous. I want to go.
We just returned home to FL from our vacation to the very same place! I LOVED every minute of basking in the Lord's beautiful creation. Wish I would've bumped into your sweet family. I so would have introduced myself. :)
Wow!! Beautiful pictures! I have never been there and now I simply must go see this perfect piece of creation.
I love that your awesome man brought you those flowers. So sweet.
Thanks for sharing, Amanda!

I love it!
And can I just say that I wish I was more like "old faithful" re the old Metamucil commercial. LOL
We love Jackson Hole. My husband served 2 years up there as a USC2 Missionary through NAMB before we were married. So I was able to go up and visit him often. Love the weather and the scenery is just breathtaking. Glad you enjoyed your trip!

Ok, Amanda....LOVE your pictures. Hubby and I were in Wyoming a few years ago and visited Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons!! We were there during the month of September, slept in a tent the first night, slept in the car the second night cause it was extremely cold. Our sleeping bags froze to the truck windows the second night! I took 60 (not a typo) rolls of film!! Doesn't include the 1500 digital pictures hubby took! The animals were amazing and we actually had a grizzly walk right past our vehicle!! To me, it was paradise!!! Looks like ya'll had a great time!!! Thanks for sharing!
Good Grief....my family needs a vacation. Thanks for the reminder that God is showing Hinself outside of our 4 walls....I'm out of here!
Amanda, your pictures brought a flood of memories back from the end of our 3 week journey last summer! LOVED yellowstone and how lucky are you to get to see a grizzly? We saw one (through binoculars) that was smaller than my pinky it was so far away. HA HA
Heard you mention you loved Billy's Burgers and my husband loves a good burger so we went. Waited 2 HOURS it was so crazy busy and then they forgot our order! But I must admit - the food was awesome and yes - I'd try it again. :)
Oh Amanda - I live in Louisiana - and have never been near Wyoming - and oh how you have made me want to go! Such breathtaking pictures! I could just run through those fields - unless buffalo would run after me! Do they do that? LOL And that bear - now that would freak me out!
Okay...you convinced me! Maybe one summer we will trade our week at Kanakuk Family Kamp and go to Jackson Hole!!! Thanks for sharing:-)
Amanda,
We stayed at Jackson Lake Lodge for 7 days last year. We went to Jackson Hole one of the days, went rafting one day, and spent the rest of the time in Yellowstone exploring. I recognize the places and have ones extremely like yours. :o) In fact, I took over 3000 pictures over 19 days. LOL
I have to say that I have been more in awe of the LORD's power, wonder and glory. I felt as though He was spoiling me. Totally pouring out His affection. Showing off and Oh how I loved it!
My heart is there. I fell utterly in love with the Lord all over again there. We travel a lot and I find myself saying, "Well it's nice, but it's not Yellowstone/Jackson Lake."
I think it was because at Jackson Lake Lodge there wasn't any media. I had my quiet time in the mornings looking at the incredible creation-the Tetons and felt like I was sharing secrets with Jesus. Honestly I miss that. Quite time is such a struggle sometimes here at home... so many things to distract me. Sigh.
Thank you for sharing these. It's nice to have so many others who share my affection for that area.
With much affection!
Anna
BEEautiful pictures, AJ!!! I haven't been to Yellowstone, but it's one of the places I intend to visit hopefully in the not too distant future! I went to Yosemite some years ago and it was breathtaking there! Thanks so much for sharing the pics with us and the little captions. You have a beautiful family. Glad y'all had a great time!

Those pictures were so beautiful - and may I say I almost chocked on a french fry when I typed in "Living Proof" and saw the new, cool, hip-happenin' site. Congrats to whomever put in lots of time on that. It's lovely!
Warm in Alaska.
Amanda, my Texas family has enjoyed going to Jackson Hole for the past 4 summers. We fell in love with the area & purchased a condo in Teton Valley, ID, across the pass. We've escaped the Texas heat ever since. I call it God's Disney World of Nature too!
You guys should go to the "Pig Wrestling" next summer during the Teton County Fair. Now that's entertainment!
An impossibility! I can never get tired of pictures! Love them!
Never been to Jackson Hole and yet I live in Idaho, not so very far away. It's just never worked out that we could go. Josh's mom tells me that Yellowstone isn't nearly as impressive as it used to be. I still think I would love it, though.
We are hoping to go out there next summer! Your pictures just add to the desire! God makes such beautiful stuff!
I love your sweet pictures...My oldest son and I took a road trip from Dallas to N.Montana and we hopes and prayed the Lord would show us a herd of Buffalo, and wouldn't you know on the way home there was a sweet herd...it was one of our highlights! It was amazing..I love the picture of the baby crossing the road with it's mama...
I'm so glad you guys got away and enjoyed serious alone time with each other!
Beauty in everything...God's work, the family & especially those babes. How sweet.
My girlfriend moved from Lincoln, Nebraska to Jackson Hole and will barely return for a visit! She's living her dream with her man & twin boys!
Oh my word... absolutely beautiful, and I sooo want a bump-it, haha!!! :)
I really enjoyed seeing your pictures! Your family is so precious.
Those pictures are amazing!
Amanda,
Beautiful pictures! Was Jackson good at the park? I was so mesmerized by the beauty that I found myself jumping out of our car and walking up to a buffalo. Later I found myself walking past the "danger" sign and nearly sticking my finger into a small geyser. All at the age of 20-something. I promised myself I wouldn't take a curious child should the Lord bless me with one (He did) until they were grown. I'm encouraged that you took Jackson at such a young age. Maybe I'll be brave enough to do the same.
Amanda
I cannot get over how big Jackson is getting. He is so handsome and how big Annabeth is getting. It seems like just yesterday we were ogling over pictures of her as an infant,so tiny in your arms. I am a true naturalist.I love Gods creativeness in the landscaping and the wildlife. I remember when I was driving trucks for a living and drove through Georgia and saw a cotton field for the first time I was so thrilled I got out of my truck and picked 2 pieces and brought them home. That was like the greatest thing. Now I was born a city girl but I am a country girl at heart. I'll share this tidbit with you. I was on my way to see some friends locally and the road to their house sits on a preserve that is part of the Mohawk River and I was talking to the Lord(I do that when I drive)and I said to Hims "I am so in awe of what you have made for us here it is so beautiful". I didn't expect an answer but he said to me "This is nothing compared to where you will be going".It was very emotional moment to say the least. Thank you so very much for those breathtaking pictures. I can only hope the Lord will someday make a way for me to travel and see the Tetons I have always wanted to go there. I am so happy you had such a well deserved rest and lots of fun. I am still laughing at Jackson with the bagel in his mouth asleep

Oh, Amanda! You have made me NEED to go there for our next vacation! Your pictures are so beautiful... and I'm sure you already know, but you have such precious kiddies! Love the ones of Annabeth in the hoodies!
Casper native says THANKS for the pix! We're going next summer (finally!).
Dear Amanda, Great pictures! Can't wait to see more. The kids are so precious, and growing fast! Tahnk you for sharing. In Jesus' Love Kathy Knoblock
Great playlist! And, of course, I completely enjoyed the bump-it!
i finally found an accurate description of that 'funny feeling' when you look down from some place way up high. 'it make the bottom of my heart hurt'. yep, i get it too.
I could feel the cool air, Honey! For just a moment, I could feel the cool air!
I relived every second of it with you. I also love my Bumpit there, as you know.
I am so glad you got to get away as a family! The Tetons are my favorite place to visit in the US. Your family is precious! Thank you for loving Jesus and sharing your life with us. Amanda, what are you enjoying about the LORD today?
Move your family and all the Moore's to wild, wonderful Wyoming!!! I came here 23 years ago and have had a love affair with this beatiful state ever since. My pastor husband died in 1991 and I married my second husband whose wife also died and we live in CHUGWATER, WY. Can you believe they would name a place that? I married the real McCoy... rancher and all. God had an amazing plan of "beauty from ashes" in Wyoming!!! I am glad you love it too!
For the record... I didn't get to proof read my post... I hit publish when I wanted to preview, so there are a few mistakes on it. LOL
Anna
One more thing... my feet don't hurt when I look down from heights, my fingers do. They get all tingly feeling. It's disconcerting. :o)
The pictures are amazing! It's been years since we've been to Jackson Hole, but I'm ready to go again! The mountains are breathtaking and I love the wildlife you got to meet.
The Gog-given bump-it is great!
Miss Amanda,
Thank you for sharing your family pictures with us. Loved them.
We visited Yellowstone last year on our summer vacation of Nat'l Parks (Tetons, Yellowstone, Mt Rushmore, St Louis Arch, Rocky Mtn Nat'l Park). It was so amazing. My then 8 yr old son was so disappointed after weeks of talking of Nat'l Parks to learn the name "Park" does not always mean playground. grin.
Amanda, that looks like a simply amazing time together!! Praise God!!!
How beautiful!!! I love the picture of Jackson asleep with the bagel in his mouth. Too funny and so precious! Brings back some memories. ;o)
Thanks for sharing!

Ha! I just spent the past week moving from Montana to Wichita Falls, TX. I guess everything is a matter of perspective. I was feeling so blessed to be greeted by 95+ degree weather and the promise of another month or more of summer. Not to mention no more winters with -40 degree days! I do have to admit though, that the pictures of Yellowstone made me just a bit homesick. WY and MT can definitely boast some amazing landscape.
Thanks for sharing!
"Wonky"? :) Cool pictures and neat words. Thanks.
I love that area!! Glad you had a great vacation!
Love Love Love the "built in"
Bump It!!!!!
Wish my God given Bump Its were in my hair instead of on my rear.... hummmph.....
;0) Breahn, Palestine Texas
our favorite place. also didn't know Glory revealed had another cd!
Loved seeing this post. My husband and I just moved an hour south of JH from Houston 3 weeks ago. We are enjoying it a lot and have made 3 trips to JH since arriving. We will have to try the burger place....not sure it will beat Papa's Burger's though. Can't wait to make it to Yellowstone too. This morning while we were at church someone mentioned that it snowed at his house here today...totally crazy to me since I am so accustomed to Texas autumns and winters. I was happy to see that we get "Life Today" and I can still see Beth on Wednesday mornings here...feels like home.
Thanks for sharing about your trip.
Kim
Wow! You are an amazing photographer. Thanks for taking those pictures- God used them to speak to me.
I am ready for a roadtrip to Yellowstone! God's beauty is all over that place! Takes me back to my childhood. What fun, thank you for sharing with us!

Nothing better than the Teton Yellowstone area in the summer. Praise God for giving us such a beautiful world to live in. Can't wait to see what heavens like!
You have a fantastic camera! Thos pictures are beautiful. I would love to go there. I have been trying to talk my "citified" husband into going there. What an awesome experience it must be for you and the fam!
Ps. I have that same blanket that sweet girl is laying on. It is my nap snuggly couch blanket.
Thank you for sharing your vacay with us.
Amanda, you are so beautiful! I'm so glad you guys had such a wonderful trip :) The bagel in Jackson's mouth cracked me up!!!
I LOVE yellowstone and the mountains. Your pix reminded me of the times we've been there. It was like a "remote" vacation. Much needed. Thanks for sharing and I'm looking forward to the pix to come!!!
I grew up in Montana and every summer we took a day trip to "the park" - Yellowstone that is. It has been years since I have been there - the beauty is the same. I need to take my family there. Thanks for the reminder.

Amazing pictures! Looks like y'all had an awesome time!!
What a great vacation. I have never been to WY. I might need to add it to my list of places to go.
Loved the pictures and the Tetons! Loved getting to see your sweet family as well. Makes me think of the song we used to sing in Sunday School (a LONGGGGG time ago..) "God's beautiful world, God's beautiful world, I love God's beautiful world. He made if for you, he made it for me, I love God's beautiful world." Thanks for sharing!

Breathtaking!! Chris and I just got home from a mountain getaway in Colorado and I can't get enough of the mountains now!!!! These pictures make me want to head to Wyoming right now!
Those pics are wonderful, I can just smell the air and feel the breeze.....check Full Color, a pro lab in Dallas that will work with amateur photogs and they have some wonderful products, shipping is not too expensive...just saying these are really good.... I think you have some real great shots from the Master artist Himself. Shalom
Amanda, LOVE IT !! thanks for sharing
Amanda: My husband and I met each other in Yellowstone National Park way back in 1988. (The year the park was on fire) I lived in Canyon Village and Jack lived in Gardnier, MT. I was finishing up my college degree at Azusa Pacific, and he had just finished his MDiv at SBTS in Louisville, KY. We both worked for the Christian Ministry in the National Parks providing the services there on Sundays, and in turn, they provided us with a job. I was a waitress in Canyon, and Jack delivered books to the visitors center. I love that place, and I am glad to see that you can visit there often.
Just want to say thank you for your ministry and the testimony of God's grace in your marriage and family... We love you all in Redding, CA..(Jack is now the professor NT at Simpson University..)

My absolute favorite picture was definitely Jackson with the bagel in his mouth. That's because I have a picture of my little man (just a little bit older than Jackson) asleep in his carseat with beef jerky in his mouth. The funniest part of that is that he kept chewing off and on! Your picture brought back such funny memories. Thanks for sharing!
What BEAUTIFUL work of our Master!!!
Amanda, these pictures are gorgeous! I went to Montana over Labor Day weekend to see one of my BFF's, and while I was there I felt the exact same way about the weather. We went camping at Glacier National Park and also saw bears, and it was equally as gorgeous! I posted so many pictures, too, b/c I just couldn't decided what I wanted to post. It's so nice to get away and unplug. So nice. Glad y'all had a great, relaxing, refreshing trip after a crazy summer.
P.S. A bump-it? Do you even know how much I want one? I'll totally admit it. No lie.
It looks like you had a wonderful trip!!! And... I love the top music list, I always need some new titles and artists- that is not my strength (title's and artists' names).
Blessings to you- so glad you had a wonderful time.
Abby
It's more the bottom of my spine than the bottom of my feet...but I get it.
Love the pictures!! Hope I get to go back someday. And that someday my girls go without begging to turn the DVD player back on...
Little Momma, these pictures are magnificent! Those mountains are huge! Not like East TN rolling hills and smoky fog:) Your kiddles are cuteness and a half:):) You do have a God-given bump-it girl, that is fabulous! Aww, wild flowers from your sweetie:)
katiegfromtennessee
the thermostat cracks me up!! But really does help explain all the "gear" ya'll are wearing. =)
I love seeing pictures of this part of the country. Was in that area when I was very young and have just a bit of memory of it. How breath taking!
Thank you for sharing your private family time!
I get a little sick looking down down down down too. It was almost too much when we visited the Hoover dam. SHEW!
I'm hungry after looking at that hamburger picture. YUM!
Sweet little Annabeth having her arm bundled up - bless her.
I am a teacher...the kids were off at something or I was eating lunch at my desk and I went onto the blog here...thank our Lord it is not firewalled out because so much is...and saw these BEAUTIFUL photos! What a blessing! Thank you for sharing your life Amanda...you are SUCH a gift to all! What an uplift to see God's handy-work in nature!
After seeing these pics, I'm heading to Wyoming!! We're hot here in Austin and I would love some snuggly with hot chocolate! :O)
Absolutely gorgeous pictures! Thank you for sharing!
