It's BIBLE STUDY DAY!!!!

Oh, my, my, my. It is a HAPPY BUSY DAY at Living Proof. We launch our community-wide, interdenominational Tuesday Bible study this very night. We feel like this is the prime thing God ordained this ministry to do. We are discipleship freaks so, as much as we love going into cities and doing weekend events, our highest calling is to walk with a group from Point A to Point B to Point C in a particular book of the Bible or subject matter over a course of several months. We are PUMPED.

Very early this morning while I was at my breakfast room table working on my notes for tonight, I got a call from Melissa who sounded like she was in the first grade. She was on her way to orientation for her second Master's program (Th.M. in the area of Biblical Studies). Her classes will have her in at least four different books of the Bible so she's all set for an intense semester in the Scripts.

Amanda will be right there with me and the rest of our hardworking staff as we launch Bible study so that covers the 3 Moore girls. What about all you marvelous Siestas? You may not be starting your Fall Bible studies this week but we surely do hope you are planning to engage in a Bible study of some kind this semester and, hopefully, sooner than later. All our enemy needs is a little time with an idle mind. Around Siestaville, holding each other accountable to the healthy pursuit of Christ is a big priority. So, here's your chance to sign on the dotted line! What are your plans for Fall Bible Study? In your comment, give...

Your first name or blogger name
The Bible study type (BSF, Precept, etc.), name or subject matter
City and State
Specify solo or group

I always love these kinds of posts. They build up our faith and remind us that a very powerful community of active Christ-pursuing, Scripture-poring sisters is out there. We have different personalities, gifts and styles of worship in Siestaville, but we are of one Spirit and one Body. Let's celebrate it!

We started our Bible study for this season last week! Last winter we did Daniel and LOVED it. We are in a farming community, so we take things a little easier in the fall. So we at Little Flatrock Christian Church in Rush County Indiana are doing Women of Faith's Contagious Joy study. It's going perfectly with the DELIGHT simulcast that many of us attended in Greensburg, Indiana. There are 25 of us going through this, and we are celebrating God each week with praises for the joy He blesses us with. We are also eagerly anticipating doing the Esther study in the winter when people in general have more time to commit to good, deep study!

I LOVE ME SOME BIBLE STUDY!! Did the emphasis come across? Tee hee!! I prayed with a friend of mine recently as to what book of the Bible God would like me to be camped out in...He affirmed to both of us that the book of John is where to be. So, as of this morning, I began delving deep into the book of John for my solo study.

It also happens that I will be attending BSF for the first time and they will be covering John as well.

I am SO excited to dig ever deeper into God's word!

My bff and I and another gal (who's very first Bible study EVER was Esther and is just finishing up:-) are looking at digging into Max Lucado's FEARLESS and having some study/discussion together once a week. We will most likely do this, but we have to wait until October to start up. I purchased the 90 Days with Jesus the One and Only devo for myself. I finished up the New Every Morning one and have not been able to find it in the LP store. I wanted to buy one for my mom. Anyway, I loved it so much. God is so good and faithful to always meet me where I'm at. Thanks for being a BIG part of that. Oh, and I'm almost finished reading Breaking Intimidation by John Bevere. Intense. I'm seriously considering digging into Daniel w/my husband.

be blessed!

ECUMENICAL BIBLE STUDY group- we usually do one of your studies,we have been together for decades- but for Sept. will be doing a 30 week lectio divina bible study- we will begin with a luncheon and a lively guest minister from Georgia this Fri.- we have studied with everyone from you, Thomas Keating, who visited us, Frances and Judith MacNutt, Anglican priests from Wales, on and on- God sends us some of his most wonderful representatives of Christ - we are Catholic, Baptist, Episcopalian, Presyterian, Methodist

EFM- My Episcopal Church has asked me to participate in a 4 year bible study designed for lay ministry- I will have to see if this enhances my other studies or is too much- I have a heart for Christian contemplative prayer and Christ centered prayer for the healing of physical and emotional wounds

See you tonight, I am eager to learn more about Revelation- thanks for presenting this book!

Mosinee, WI

Group of ladies at our church... not sure of the number yet, but a wide mix of age ranges... some with little kids (me) and some empty nesters, some grandmothers.

this is the first bible study I have been able to do "face to face" in several years. (I have done the Summer Siesta study, but always solo) I am very excited. I have been itching to do Esther, and missed a couple of chances already. God must have ordained it to happen this way, so that I could connect well with a group of women in my church. We start next week and I am so excited. Its making my schedule very busy, especially if I add in a job that I am applying for, but I really want to do it.

I hope all the other siestas out there in Siesta-ville have a wonderful time in their own studies, those who don't have one yet, I pray that God will guide you to the one that He wants you in! :)

Love and God bless,
Heather

We are doing a group study using, "Esther, It is Hard Being a Woman".

And we are leading a group study using a series of sermons by Dr. David Platt, called RADICAL. I don't know what type it is, but it is Radical! It is about our responsibility as belivers to the poor, opressed, widowed, orphaned and lost. http://www.brookhills.org/media/series/radical

I am so excited!!! We are just finishing Esther with a different group, and will be starting with another group...it will be good!!

David Platt's series, my husband and I did alone...LOVED it and thought more people needed to hear, so we invited a group. My UTMOST passion is for adoption, orphan, widowed.....my heart breaks for the poor and lost. This nails it on the head!!

Thanks Beth, you are so loved!!

Hi Beth! I'm so excited, because today is Day One of our Tues. evening Beth Moore "Esther" study! Having been a Bible study teacher/leader/facilitator for many years, and then being sidelined for a few years by God (that's another story), it's so exciting to see Him open the door for this study! I am so humbled to be able to open my home and invite ladies to open the Word with me. So many things are uncertain in life right now -- but the Word is sure!

There are 8 of us studying Esther in Olathe, Kansas. We're coordinating our schedule with a Tues. morning group of friends, so that if someone can't attend in the morning, she can come to our class in the evening and catch up!

Thank you, thank you, for this wonderful study. I'm already through Lesson 3, and the Lord has met me on almost every page. God bless you and strengthen you as you reach out to all of us Siestas!
In His strong grip,

Okay I admit that I got the "Me, Myself, and Lies" bible study after ya'll had completed it on the blog. I find myself having a hard time committing to that one or "Esther", which I also got about the time I got the "Me" one.
Your post though today challenged me to actually commit to one and actually "DO" it.
I think I will do the "Me" one first. It seems to me it's about your thoughts or thought life and I think it would be good to examine that at this particular junction.
I will be going at both of them on my own or rather with the Holy Spirit. I am hoping to go back and access your blogs on the "Me" one.
