Podcast from Curtis

*UPDATE*
Diginee, you are my hero today! Thanks for letting us know about the Compassion Blogger Photostream on Flickr!

Y'all, I keep refreshing the page over and over to see if Melissa has posted yet. I'm just dying! I need a distraction, so here you go...

I've been nagging Curtis to make a podcast out of his Wednesday night Bible study lessons. Nagging rarely bears fruit and none of us should do it, but this time it worked!

The podcast is on iTunes, so if you don't have iTunes already downloaded on your computer, get it here first. (It's free.)

http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

This link will bring up Curtis' iTunes page. Here's where you'll find the three lessons available. (Also free.)

I hope your Monday is blessed! I'm off to the park with my kids. Wish me luck.

Funny, just this morning I was just thinking about Curtis' work there at LPM and praying for God to establish the work of his hands. I KNOW my Chris loved his last study and would certainly be quick to participate in any men's study y'all offer.

Praying for your whole crew--at home and abroad!

Wow. WOW. Wow!!!

I just listened to "Confronting & Correcting Self-Righteousness".
I was frantically taking notes, but I think I’m going to listen again…I really want it to stick!!

Normally I don't have 54 extra minutes in the morning, but I believe that the Lord carved out the time for me this morning...because I REALLY needed to hear every word of this message.

Self-righteousness is such a scary thing...especially because, as Curtis explains so well, it comes SO naturally for us.
I really needed this wake-up call.
It is so tempting for me to hold other people accountable for the convictions that the Lord has put on *my* heart!
When Curtis said, “Are you expecting more out of the people around you than Jesus expects?”, I almost fell out of my chair…ughhh…it felt like he was speaking right to me.
By the end of the message I was feeling so convicted that I was considering changing my middle name to “Pharisee” (okay, not really, but I could probably make a pretty good case for it).
When he ended his message by saying that “self-righteousness is also a sin that Christ died for”, I just started crying. Oh, I am so glad!
Self-righteousness is an UGLY thing, and I do not want any part of it, but I am so thankful that when my flesh rears it’s ugly head and I’m walking in self-righteousness…the Lord may need to jerk a knot in my tail, but at least He will forgive me…again!!

The timeliness of God is amazing. What a gift dear Curtis' message were to my heart today. I've already listened to the first two, but wanted to stop and tell you to tell him that godly nagging has done a TN heart much good!

Thanks for posting this link Amanda. As soon as I saw the first teaching on worry I knew I had to listen to it right away. My husband is employed in the auto industry and we have a lot of uncertainty right now (as with many.) That lesson was just what I needed. Thanks Curtis!

I will go take a listen. Podcasting is great. My very wise, father in law (a pastor for many years) has a pod cast too-check out -heartburncafe.com - and you will hear a man of God, 72 years young still serving and discipling several couples each week.

Amanda,
Just finished listening to the first message on worry. Very good, but so obviously a man speaking to men. A woman would know that we would need to know the rest of the story, as to why he could get a hold of you that night!!

Amanda, I have a daughter named Amanda also. My husband is also a minister for 33 years now so I now how proud you are of Mr.Curtis. I listened to the podcast today- the first one and I absolutlyloved it! He is seasoned beyond his years. I was totally blowed away how he presented himself with honesty and humility, and spoke with wisdom, conviction, and love. Tell him to keep them coming--today's was surely for me. I can't wait til the next one i listen to. Carry On! Praying for you both, Carla Lee

Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you! I listened to one of the podcasts today and it was the one that started with Curtis's story about the phone and being worried about you, Amanda! It's one of my favorite of his stories! I'm so glad you got him to podcast!

Kae,
I was in the basement of the journalism building at Texas A&M working on a final project with a group. I didn't get cell service down there and to be able to call, I would have had to go up to the parking lot in the middle of the night alone. We finally finished around 5 am. I'm soooo glad to be done with that kind of thing. I'm so glad this podcast worked out! I hope y'all enjoy it.

I tried for about an hour to download these podcasts to my ipod. I couldn't get it to work...is it just me? I got it downloaded on the computer, but it wouldn't transfer over. I thought it would be great to listen to while I garden or I'm stuck in Houston traffic! Any advice?

The Lord is my shepherd; i shall not be in want. he makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside quiet waters; he restores my sould. he guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. even though i walk through the valley of the shadow of death, i will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. you prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. surely goodness and love will follw me all the days of my life, and i will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. psalm 23:1-6 NIV Translation
