I LOVED PORTLAND

I love them, I loved them, I loved them, I LOVED THEM! Siestas, thank you so much for your powerful prayers for a God-show at the Portland Living Proof Live. We had a whopping 7,300 women (astounding numbers to us from that area of the county) from the beautiful Northwest who hit that place SERIOUS about worship and Bible Study. The Holy Spirit was so thick in Memorial Coliseum at Rose Quarter that I got chill bumps the second I hit that platform. I can’t remember if that particular thing has ever happened before. Honestly, the hair stood straight up on my arms. All the events are memorable and special to me in one way or another but sometimes Christ seems to go out of His way to show Himself present. I think maybe He did it this time to show His great affection to these mighty warriors of the faith who must feel substantially outnumbered at times. They were the kind of group that, when I tried to wrap up the lesson at 9:00 PM on Friday night, they yelled for us to keep going. We’d already been going strong for two solid hours. It was unbelievable. I will never forget them. I LOVED THEM. And, if you were there, Girlfriend, I loved you.

I wanted to share with you a little something that I shared with them. I wasn’t the only person from Houston, Texas in Portland, Oregon this weekend. The Houston Rockets also descended en masse upon Rose City to go into playoffs against the Portland Trailblazers, best out of seven. In fact, they were playing right next door to the arena where our event was being held and the basketball would officially hit the floor on Saturday just six hours after we vacated the premises. My group seemed a bit amazed at the coincidence but I assured them that the line-up was not at all unusual. Yao Ming and I are BFF, and, as we each plan our year, we often schedule our events together. In fact, I reminded my group of the huge mural on the side of their basketball arena right outside our event door with the Trailblazers’ Big Three on it and shared what Houstonians see on the side of our arena and on numerous billboards around town:

One reason we schedule our LPL events to end at noon is so that I can freshen up, change clothes and head on down to the arena where the Rockets then play in that particular city so that I can give Yao a hand.

We (Yao and I) did pretty well last night but, now that I’ve fallen so in love with Portland, I don’t want to make a big deal of it. After all, the one huge thing we learned this weekend is that, if Christ is going to be formed in us (Galatians 4:19), we better be crucified to these big, fat egos of ours (Galatians 2:20). That’s why I just wear basic black and white on the court. I don’t want to draw attention to myself.

It was so much fun!! I drove down with four other women from Bellingham Washington, and was there this weekend and ate it up. I got a very definite message from the Lord, something that I've been sinning in, and not even aware of... I got my six words too!
I came with: "Approval addict. STOP! Just need His!" and left with "I confessed. He forgave. Freedom claimed!"
Thankyou so much for sharing. I would have continued sinning in a particular area without even knowing it... and I've been feeling a barrier between the Lord and I for a while and couldn't place it. I am so glad I came. Praise the LORD!!!

I just found out not too long ago what you have always meant by chill bumps. Having experienced them for myself now, I can't even imagine the presence you felt throughout the entire weekend if they started before you did. Praise God for using you in such amazing ways.

Between last weekend and this weekend, our church has seen
160ish people accept Christ as their Lord and Savior. It has been an amazing sight to behold. And as of right now there are over 40 people signed up for baptism. It is so powerful to see God moving in the hearts of those around us.

Love the pictures of you as a player and coach, of which you are certainly both to multitudes of us siestas. But just as a side note, even though I know he is now a member of the Houston Rockets, GO TAR HEELS!

I just flew in to Michigan from Portland this morning. I am so thankful my mom flew me out to join her and my two sisters for such an amazing weekend of worship. I am so grateful that because of HIM, the six words that described me at 6 pm Friday night are not the same words that will sum up the rest of my life!
I am so glad you put up those pictures. I told my husband all about them and now he will be able to see them for himself.

While visiting his friend's church's Friday night service, he was mightily ministered to by the Lord (in a way that he probably hasn't experienced in some years). I have made it my personal objective that as long as you're within driving distance of me, I'll show up. Just to say thank you for loving us in the upper left hand corner of the country.

You spoke to my heart this weekend. And I felt the approval and recognition of my God. I have been through something horrible the last 18 months and as surely as I breathe, He told me this on Saturday morning, "I trusted you . . . . good job, girlfriend!" So what did I do in response? In the middle of the arena, I looked straight up and smiled at Him - just like Annabeth :-) And whenever I hear Him, I'm gonna look straight up and smile.

I'm trying SO HARD not to be jealous that I wasn't there. I'm originally from the Northwest and now live in the South...and can ONLY IMAGINE how amazing it was (and beautiful...I miss it there a lot). I do praise God that the Holy Spirit descended on that place. More than anywhere else in America, the Northwest is the most unchurched. What a testimony that women are serious about Jesus out there! Brings my heart joy. I'm fighting the jealousy to focus on the joy. :)

Wow, I go out of town for a day and look what I miss! My family's been having a putrid couple of weeks so we ran away for a day to Travis Cottrell's old stomping grounds in Boone/Blowing Rock. (Not for the Travis association, but because we like it there.)

I want to thank you for your teaching on Ps. 8 and how we silence Satan when we praise. I've been using that with my 2nd & 3rd grade Sunday School class and we're having a blast with it. I am making sure they know that there are other reasons why we praise God, but in the meantime, we're singing songs that we think Satan will find particularly ANNOYING. And they're singing them loud, too. If life gets any stinkier, I may resort to the J-E-S-U-S cheer you did on TV last week.

Say "Hi" to Yao for me.

We were there (my husband and I -- he is the one you "picked on" Friday evening, Beth) -- it was most definitely a life-changing event for me!!! I went into this weekend "filled with fear, desperately seeking release" and left with "fear is ego, crucify it now!"

I have attended one live LPL event and two simulcasts in the past and I never cease to be amazed by what an awesome God we serve and how he speaks through you to touch each person PERSONALLY! Thank you for being a humble servant and allowing Him to use you in such a mighty way!!!

I am going to work now to try to have the simulcast broadcast in this area (Coos Bay/North Bend, Oregon) -- we are small (around 30,000 people)so it will need to be a community effort (our church is very small and we meet in a middle school cafeteria) but my goal is to attempt to be able to provide this life-changing opportunity to as many women as possible!!!

Thank you for coming to Portland -- please come back as soon as possible -- WE LOVE YOU!!!!

We LOVE you, too, Beth! So I tried to describe those pics to my husband, unsuccessfully, I'm afraid! Yea! Now I can show him! Also, I told my friend who was with me ( she's fifteen years older than me, by the way, and one of my dearest friends. We've been through tons together in the last couple of years and this summer just the two of us are going to do Esther together) that you must be a HECK of a coach since Houston clobbered our blazers. It was a tad humiliating, but I'm laying down my ego, so whatever God needs to do...

Also, I WORSHIPED in church today! My pastor's sermon was almost a carbon copy of your lesson this weekend! LOVED IT! I was so tired because I only got 2 1/2 hours of sleep on Friday night that I was less than thrilled to go to church today, but I went and, MAN AM I GLAD I DIDNT MISS WHAT GOD HAD FOR ME THERE!!!

Come again soon girlfriend! Someday I want to give you a GREAT BIG HUG!
Love you,

I was in Portland and I can attest to the fact that the Holy Spirit fell SO HEAVY on that place that it almost took my breath away…over and over again.

I was with a group of seven other women from my church, and I just want to say that every single one of us came away from this weekend CHANGED...like only an encounter with The One True God can change someone.
I could see it in their faces right away.
And I could see it again this morning at church, as each of us worshiped Jesus...with reckless abandon...like never before. The way you would worship if you had just seen the face of Jesus!

Thank you Beth, for acknowledging the fact that we can feel so outnumbered at times here in the Northwest. Tears started rolling down my face when I read that…because it is so true. I do believe that it is part of the reason that this group of women was so hungry for a word from the Lord.
Seriously, I think you could have gone all night long without a complaint (well, maybe one or two)…but personally, I would have been thrilled!!

The message that Beth delivered was
A-N-N-O-I-N-T-E-D.

The worship was
U-N-B-E-L-I-E-V-E-A-B-L-E.

The whole experience was
U-N-F-O-R-G-E-T-A-B-L-E.

I am so thankful that I took such thorough notes – I do not want to forget one thing that I learned this weekend…cause it felt like every word was just for me!

Beth, you were right in front of me when you offered the last chance for someone to share their new set of six words. Apparently I was too “shy” to raise my hand (not usually a problem for me ;), but I will share them with you here:

Goodbye Death. Time To Choose Life.(Of course, that does not include death to my ego…that is one death that MUST take place!)

Oh girlfriend, we in Portland LOVED you too!! God ROCKED that coliseum and did some amazing things in women's lives. Travis and the worship team were such a blessing, as well. Definitely an anointed weekend.

I have to admit that as a pastor's wife it was an added blessing to be able to attend an event and enjoy it without any responsibilities. ;)

The whole basketball thing was so HILARIOUS!! I laughed out loud again, just reading about it. Maybe the fact that I totally 'get' your sense of humor is why I often refer to you as "my BFF Beth"...:)

Blessings!!

Portland rocked! As a girlfriend said so eloquently, "God dropped and I nearly got a concussion!" I have "chill bumps" remembering how much I felt the Holy Spirit on Saturday. Thank you Beth for giving us 7300 women the opportunity to praise and learn together. Wow!

Thanks for the photos, now I can direct my mom to see them - as my description just didn't do them justice!

Thank You Beth for your presence. God surely touched many this week-end as we soaked in the word God had us hear through you. He is mighty and gentle at the same time. I am grieving the loss of my brother 2 days ago, but the Lord had me in his arms all week-end. The worship had a healing touch on my weary heart and my six words are "I grieve, He is my strength".

Thank You for your humility, devotion, and love.

Well, I am with anonymous about trying not to be jealous. We were suppose to go and had been planning to drive down and meet up with my oldest. It was to be my 10 year old's first live Beth Moore. But alas it didn't work out but I knew it would be awesome. I had encouraged others who hadn't been to an event before not to miss it cause I knew God would bring a Word just for them. The Northwest is a place one has to be called to live in - cause it's hard. I am so thankful - really - that God showed Himself in such a powerful way!

Oh Beth, we loved you deeply and truly this weekend! I can't seem to find the words to express my thoughts. I’ll try…

I began Breaking Free as a 34 year old woman engaged to be married in 2004. Beth, I was a woman who looked on the outside to be living the great life. But in truth I was in the deepest pit. The before and after photo of the gentleman you showed this weekend was me {on the inside}. I swung from repression to rebellion in the same day, everyday.

I was with eight other women this weekend and my darling husband {he loves you too, you see he has witnessed my chains fall and my heart fall even further for CHRIST}. You are right, there is nothing like a former pit dweller living life full-out-on-fire for Jesus Christ. He has blessed, accepted, chosen, adopted, redeemed and forgiven this also former pit dweller. Each morning this week I would weep, because the LORD was showing me my before and after photo. Beth, I call you my Spiritual Mother, because I have grown into a Spiritually-Mature Women bearing fruit; you don’t know me, but you have been growing me in the LORD. All that to simply say, I love you and I LOVE THE KING OF GLORY!

My six words on Friday night:
My Determined Purpose: To KNOW HIM

Saturday morning time ALONE before the conference:
My formed body, His Holy Temple
Vision without sight, hearing without words
He’s my shield, and my reward
No more excuses, live beyond fear
Women are perishing, who will pray
I’m living proof, Jesus still saves

Okay, I really could go on and on…but I won’t. 

Keep the King the Thing,
Kierstan

Oh Beth, I can't even tell you what it means to my heart, soul, mind, and spirit to hear what you are writing, as well as to read through the blog entries here from women in Portland who were at the conference this weekend. I was the prayer coordinator for this event, and I absolutely knew that it wouldn't be by might or power but only by God's Spirit that true life change would take place. I am beyond ecstatic to hear continual reports of immediate healing, brokenness, salvation, realignment, conviction, breakthrough, etc., etc.!!!

It has been my absolute joy to be able to prepare the way these past few months by leading this area of the country in prayer as we have asked God to show up and show off! He did, of course...and your chill bumps were merely a physical manifestation of that fact!!! Yay God and yay you! You're an amazing team and I can hardly wait until you come back.

Thank you for pouring out your life for ours this weekend.

Loves, Michelle Watson

My daughter and I were there!!! It was amazing. You are right about the Holy Spirit's presence being so "thick". You asked us to sum up our life in six words Friday evening. Mine were: "Waking, Waiting, Watching and Wondering,When". Saturday, we had the time of you praying over us and listen for God's voice with the six words we'd leave with. Mine-"Hear me my child, healing is yours". (7 words) I have ovarian cancer, for 3 yrs now and presently in a clinical trial. It's been an exciting "journey" for sure with so many open doors. We came back ready to face our own "journeys"; Mine, cancer and my daughter's a 11 yr old son with Muscular Dystrophy. But, we are both revived and ready to! Travis Cottrell did an awesome time leading the worship which help set the tone of the over all two days!!

You go girl! Father Thomas Keating is the first to teach me about the "false self" and how it is developed due to the wounds of a life time- however, allowing it to be removed by Christ is our goal- when we are ruled by the ego(false self) we cannot be and serve as God created us to be uniquely- I hope we will have the opportunity to hear what you shared in Portland! When will it be possible to get audios of these events- they are blessings and encouragement? How did you sleep last night? Your Siestas prayed into your rest. Blessings

Hey Beth, God truly showed off this weekend in Portland. Worship, listening, responding and applying are such a joy together. Not all of it is easy... except that it's easy to be uneasy about yielding an entire self to God. In the long run it is such a joy. Even in the short run it is the ultimate good deal. Worth everything. I drove 5 hours to be there and came home so I could be in my local church today. I heard the same principles proclaimed using David and Saul in the teaching. I know God is up to something in the Pacific Northwest. He is SMOOOOOTH! Bless you all!

I love to come by here. :) I don't comment all of the time...but I sure love to come by. This post and the pictures just make me grin. You are too much. :)

I have been wanting to thank you for the Esther Bible study. Oh, my, oh, my...how it has spoken to my heart. What made me think of it right now is you mentioning big egos at the end of this post. May I just say...when I went into your study, I had NO idea I was going to end up having some issues in common with Haman. Have. Mercy. My heart needed to be challenged and confronted on some things....and I am glad you were the sweet, humble, fireball for Jesus vehicle that He used to deliver some much needed conviction. I am presently working on that whole being useful instead of trying so hard to be special thing. :)

I sincerely thank you, Ms. Beth.

Hoping some day to get to be in an auditorium hearing your sweet voice in person,
Kimberly

I drove to Portland with women from our Cottage Grove church. Loved the event. We're so excited about all the windows the Lord opened up in us through the event. I have a lot to think about, pray about, and chew on. I was meant to be there. I was especially touched by the idea that we are to enjoy and embrace our freedom and let Christ unfold in us and fill every inch of our bodies from the tip of our head to the tip of our toes. I knew that, but now I really know that.
It reminded me of our history when the slaves in the south were freed. Many of them embraced their new found freedom and went on to carve out new lives, at great cost to all they held dear. But others were free in name only. They continued to live as slaves, servants to their masters, never understanding or walking through that door to a new life.
I also was delighted to discover that God isn't intent on erasing the "who" I am that He made me to be, but wants me to nail my ego to the tree.
Loved what you said about we girls getting over the gender issue in the Bible because men have to deal with being called the Bride of Christ. What priceless insight.
The women from our church unanimously agreed that we have never experienced anything so profound or inspirational as this conference. We're ready to go again.
We were moved by the last praise song on Saturday where 7300 women sang in unison, unaccompanied by instruments. We loved your worship team.
If the Trailblazers had to lose to anybody....I guess we'll accept the Rockets since we love you so much.
P.S. there was a woman in the bathroom line in front of me that came all the way from Hawaii. Her sister in the states purchased the ticket and that's why her state didn't appear in the info.

It was truly amazing. God really showed up in a special way for me.

I attended the event alone - actually, it was a spur-of-the-moment kind of thing - and I'm praising Jesus that He usurped my plans for His!

When the time came for the invitation I looked around and saw women praying for each other just EVERYWHERE. It was beautiful, but I felt so alone.

"No one knows me here," I thought. "No one cares. I am alone." But I'm never alone(!!!), and God showed me that in a real and tangible way. As I sat alone in my seat crying, a woman sat down next to me and prayed the cry of my heart. The EXACT CRY OF MY HEART. Talk about Holy Spirit intercession!

I don't know her name - she walked away into the crowd before I even saw her face - but God spoke through her to my brokenness and when she wrapped her arms around me, I felt Christ formed in her and knew it was His arms too.

The words God spoke through you were amazing Miss Beth, but that prayer and those arms... if God brought me there just for that, it was more than enough.

My six words from ego:
I have nothing. I'm too broken.

My six words from God:
I AM your everything. Live Free.

~ Bethany

I love the Yao Ming pictures - who knew you were two were BFFs? ;) I even shared this blog entry with my husband - he appreciated your humor, Beth, as did I!

Blessings on you,

Thank you for such an amazing event! After doing several of your Bible studies, it was so fun to you live! And the worship!...that alone was worth the price of admission! :) We love you and are so happy you came to visit us in P-town. What an anointed time! Come back soon!

Blessed to be "doin' the thang"

I am SO glad I was a part of the awesome weekend in Portland! The Holy Spirit was truly moving and I am so ready to morph! Beth, thank you, thank you, thank you for allowing yourself to be used to minister to us! I connect with your insightful teaching, great humor and all your quirks too! :) I wish I could do a LPL every month.

Amazingly, at church this morning, the message was about letting the Spirit change us. God is truly talking about doing some serious work and I'm listening!

Much love to y'all!

Siesta Beth, You are such a hoot!! Thanks for making my day (after Jesus, of course)
On the (semi) serious side...Portland has a beautiful rose garden...were you able to see it? My prayer is that one day I may get the privilege of attending a LML event. They sound absolutely awesome. God bless all you do for the kingdom..

Beth - you crack me up! I have split more ribs because of you... and it's always such a delight!!! You mean so much to me... every study I have done, has loosened more chains. I feel that I have mined out of a deep quarry of a pit, and have only the "minor" sink holes to contend with, now.

Just in hearing what the ladies who attended are saying, I see that I am not alone in struggling with fear. I even chose this past Siesta Scripture to combat it in an additional way. I knew that fear had no place in my life - I've been healed and deal with it less, since I first did Breaking Free, several years ago... I can't wait to see any additional Studies or Lessons on combating fear.

Thank you, Beth, for being a Freedom Fighter, instrument of The Liberator... and comedienne.

We are crazy about you.

As Nicole C. Mullen says in her song "Let Me Go"...

See I can still remember when
You said you were my only friend
Yeah Mr. Fear you captured me
I was blinded and couldn't see
That real love was bound to come
And confront what I was running from
He opened up my eyes and let me know
That I don't need you no mo'

Chorus (2X's):
Let me go, oh let me go
Yeah, let me go
Oh let me go, go

Time to time I must remind you
That we're not tight the way we used to (no we're not)
Before you tell me what you came for
Turn and walk out that door
Mr. Love now resides here (yes, He does)
He's strong enough to cast out Fear (He's big & He's strong)
And since I don't belong to you no more
Take your hand off my shoulder

Chorus:
Let me go, oh let me go
Yeah let me go
Oh let me go, go

You don't belong here...
We ain't made for each other.
Mr. Fear, I ain't yours no more.
Take your hand off my shoulder.
In the name of Jesus, you gotta go.
Get out of here, get out of here
Mr. Mr. Mr. Fear
Mr. Love now resides here.
I said let me go.
Let go of my dreams.
Let go of my hopes.
Let go of me.
I ain't scared of you no more...
Cuz Mr. Love resides here.
He's big enough to cast our fear.
Mr. Love & me got a thing goin'.(3X's)
Mr. Fear, you don't like that, do you?
So, so what?!
*and she laughs* :))

Isn't it great to know that God still works even in the most "unchurched" area of the nation. What a sweet time of worship and learning together. We in the north may not have the hair, but what we lack we make up for in spirit! Loved the Yao shorts story.

Portland Oregon loves you too Beth! I flew out to Nashville for the ministers wives conference, and was so filled with the study in Galatians - you see, I needed to hear that study with a fresh voice and perspective, and you my dear sister offer both! Then to be with my daughter, Lora Goodenough (you'll remember us from Boise 2008) and get a double portion of Galatians with the focus of Christ formed in you! Golly - the spirt was at full attention in this grandma! Praise Him!

You are so right on when you talk about "us" being out here in the northwest - somehow I seem to "feel" more at home when we spend time in Texas, Oklahoma and Tennessee the "ya'll" is good!

Love you like crazy,

Beth~ Thank you for coming to Ptld! 4 yrs ago, we traveled to eastern Wa (Spokane) to hear you and LOVED it! My 2 sisters and friend came down from Seattle so we could all go together. I can be a bit neurotic at times, so I had in my mind (and convinced the others) that HUGE crowds would amass by 6am and we'd have to sit in the upper-upper level. So I convinced them to get up at 4:45am to be at the Coliseum by 5:45am. Imagine our suprise when we were one of the first to arrive! But Praise the Lord, we met some great sisters in Christ while waiting in line. AND...Somehow God saw fit for us to arrive on the floor level first so we were able to sit in the front row. That might seem silly, but we felt so blessed since that just doesn't happen to us. Thank you for your heart for each of us, your wise teaching, and word pictures that makes the reality of God permeate every ounce of my being. PORTLAND LOVES YOU! Come back anytime. :)

Thank you, Beth, for the example you set. There are so many reasons to love you but what I love the most is that you give me hope. You empty yourself to be God's humble vessel and you remain faithful to Him without allowing the enemy to win. As much as I love all that you have to teach, I love that I can look at your journey and think I serve the same God who is mighty to keep me humble and reverent before Him no matter where He takes me. This is especially important for me because my 6 words were, "Here I am, Lord. Send me." I've always known that my gifting is in teaching. I've always known and been proud. So for the last 12 years, I refused to do any teaching at all b/c I was too afraid that pride would consume me and I would lose Him. In recent months, due to much sifting, I have finally come to a place where I can go face down before His throne and submit my will, my life, my thoughts, my feelings, and my plans to the One who laid down His life for me. And Jesus has been confirming over and over again to me that I need to do that which He has created me for. With much fear, trembling, heartbreak and love, I am stepping out for Him. You show me that it is possible to teach, to be recognized, and yet allow it to all remain for His glory...for the advancement of His kingdom...while completely emptying myself of ego and pride. And I can trust that God will humble me every day and hold me tight through all the ups and downs of being in the ministry.

A little over a week before the conference, the Holy Spirit urged me to pray everyday to crucify my ego to the cross and allow Jesus to live fully within me. When you opened up the conference with that very message and taught us how to really begin doing that, I knew that God was speaking directly to me. I am afraid of public ministry. Afraid that my flesh will get the best of me. But I am finally saying yes to Jesus. I will no longer practice "informed disobedience." Thank you so much for your example. My prayer for you, Beth, is that you will finish this race well. That you will hear the words that bring me to tears every time I think of hearing them myself. "Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have fought the good fight."

Thank you for coming to Portland, Beth. God was VERY present in that Coliseum. I felt him, too.

Everyone I spoke with walked away with the same feeling I did..."It was like she was talking right to me...like we were the only two women in the room."

Beth, you knew my heart and my hurt...and spoke truth to me in love, grace and with humility.

So, thank you, thank you, thank you. From me. From my husband. From my children. Thank you for allowing God to use you to love on me. To restore me.

My 6 words: (post LPL)

"Chains are broken. I am free."

Finally. Praise God!

His middle name is Becks. Our 5 year old son wanted to name him Becks, (which I think is adorable. my bf's name is Becky, so...) :) but when we told him that Toby meant God is good, he said, "OK, I think he should be Toby Becks." He totally digs God! He hasn't actually asked him to live in his heart, but I can tell he doesn't quite fully grasp it yet. Anyway, i could ramble all day about Noah. :)

I would just like to praise the Lord for Him letting LPM come to Portland this weekend and making a way for us to be there. It was AWESOME! I came with my husband, he said that he never had been around so many women in his life!! But God was so present there and spoke to me and my husband in such a powerful way, he even got all teary and he said he felt such the presence of the Lord.
The Lord has been telling my that I need to crucify myself for some time but just the conformation that He brings us is so overwhelming. Galatians 2:20 has been one of my memory verses for this year it was my February 15th verse!! The Lord is just so sweet and gentle with us sometimes even when we need a good kick in the hind end, he moves in us with such sweetness I just want to grab Him and give Him such a squeeze. Thank you again Beth for letting the Lord work through you so mightly. Your minisitry is a God send. And your sense of humor is GREAT.
I hope and pray that you will be able to come again to Portland and I will be there for sure.
Thank you.

LOVE YOU BACK BETH!!!

This is a scripture that is in my arsenal. I know you probably know it, but just wanted to encourage you this morning.

Psalm 34
[a]A psalm of David, regarding the time he pretended to be insane in front of Abimelech, who sent him away.
1 I will praise the Lord at all times.
I will constantly speak his praises.
2 I will boast only in the Lord;
let all who are helpless take heart.
3 Come, let us tell of the Lord’s greatness;
let us exalt his name together.
4 I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me.
He freed me from all my fears.
5 Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy;
no shadow of shame will darken their faces.
6 In my desperation I prayed, and the Lord listened;
he saved me from all my troubles.
7 For the angel of the Lord is a guard;
he surrounds and defends all who fear him.

My heart for you is that every time Satan attacks you with fear, you shout I fear God and God alone...

Okay, please know this encouragement is only out of a heart to obey and serve.

Blessings on your day,
Jina

Beth,

These pictures made me laugh ... so funny, and yes, I think you could coach those boys with a little spiritual pep talk. "Soar like eagles young men, do not give into temptation, now get your mind in the game and go win it for the Lord; God is your defense and offense; take a charge for HIM ALONE" You get my drift!

I was stranded in the Houston airport for 5 hours last Saturday during the thunderstorms waiting for a connecting flight to Atlanta. I had been to a wedding in Lafayette Friday night and flew the next morning into bad weather in Houston. I have such a heavy heart right now ... heavy, heavy and I fancied now nice it would have been to see you there in the Continental wing of the George Bush airport just to ask you to pray for me. However, I spent those 5 hours in prayer and in my Bible and even had my spiral index cards of memory verses. I never knew the verses I had chosen would speak to me like they are now. When your heart is broken into tiny pieces, God's word is salve to the soul.

I can't wait to come back to Houston in January to recite my verses with my fellow siestas. Oh, how precious are his words to our memorizing souls.

Love from Atlanta!
