Happy Thanksgiving Week!

Let the giving of thanks and the feasting begin! Happy Thanksgiving week, everyone! LPM is closed for the week, so I'm not sure how much activity there will be on the blog. I definitely want to take advantage of our five days off. What a blessing! You know what is so awesome? My hubby has these five days off, too! So for the first time in our marriage, we have a whole week off of work to just spend at home. We are normally in Wyoming or Missouri for Thanksgiving, but this year we just get to have a staycation.

I feel certain that these three things will happen this week:
1) Our Christmas lights, Clark Griswold style, will go up. Curtis normally does this over a span of several days. Our little oak tree was completed last night. I'm looking forward to seeing his "vision" for our new house come into fruition.
2) I will make butterscotch haystacks with the intention of taking them to our neighbors. Hopefully I won't get lazy and keep them all! That would not be good for Pregnant Girl's figure.
3) We will get some work done on Jackson's big boy room and the baby's nursery. And by work I mean we will order some furniture, which we should have done long ago.

As for the rest of the Moore clan, my parents have been at their ranch since Friday. I spoke to my dad this morning and he said they weren't ready to come home and, in fact, they just wanted to live there forever. (My mother later debunked this statement. They're coming home tomorrow.) I simply cannot imagine my mom living in a place where there are no people to witness her good hair days and well accessorized outfits. She needs witnesses! And I'm not talking about deer, steer, and wild hogs.

Melissa and Colin are saving their travel days for Christmas, so they are not coming home for Thanksgiving. We'll miss them so much, but they will be spending Thursday with some dear friends and will have a blast.

Also - this is so exciting - Curtis and I are expecting to get a phone call any day that his sister is in labor with her firstborn. We can't wait to meet our sweet little nephew.

Have a great Monday, friends!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving and a fun staycation. I laugh when I think of Curtis putting up the lights like Clark Griswold. We are in the process of doing that ourselves.

This comment isn't intended for posting. I just wanted to take a quick minute and thank you for sharing your lives with us. I'm sure it's meant certain sacrifices, but the effect it's had on this "community" has been wonderful. We're praying for all of you!

Happy Thanksgiving, Moore Family :)

I have much to be thankful for this year too. Although it has been a year of great losses, it has been a learning year for me and a year of growing closer to the Lord. For that I am so unbelievably grateful.

God bless all of you this Thanksgiving week.

Happy Thanksgiving to all in Siestaville! I just love this time of year! I'm very excited about decorating for Christmas as well. My four year old and three year old boys are more excited this year than ever and this is the first Christmas for our baby girl. These past few days as I think about Thanksgiving and what being grateful truly means, I have been overwhelmed with how truly blessed I am. I have been reminded how you can't be unhappy and grateful at the same time! When you think of all we have to be thankful for you just become happy!I want to always be grateful and happy! I'm so looking forward to cooking Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas decorating and the annual Christmas Parade...but also for my date with my husband this weekend...my 10 year High school reunion! May we always give thanks in all things for we know they work for the good!

Hi Amanda!

Thanks for filling us in on what your family's doing this week. How fun to have a week off with Curtis! My kids have the week off too, and my husband plans to take Wed. and Fri. off. Looking forward to some relaxing family time.

We're thanking God that our house was spared in the recent fires in our Yorba Linda hills. This is one time we're grateful we don't have a large home with a view. But many homes were lost and those families could use our siestas prayers!

Have a wonderful week everyone!

At my church, it is a tradition that everyone has the chance to give a testimony about something they are thankful for-- we do this before the sermon begins. I just wanted so say that I heard some pretty amazing testimonies. It also got me to thinking about things I'm thankful for. I feel like I've grown so much since this time last year, but I still have A LOT of growing left to do. I'm thankful for such a patient, loving Father. I'm also thankful for all of the amazing people He has put in my life, whether I know them personally or not.

I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving!
Lots of love :)

i pray you all have a wonderful, restful, pleasant, Thankgiving staycation or vacation, whatever the case may be.

we have so much to be thankful for and i count LPM as one of the most amazing blessings of all! what would we do without you? sure, we'd study God's Word and love Him. but, with the testimony and inheritance you present to the hungry siestas life just wouldn't be the same if Christ hadn't worked the miracles over the ministry the way He has.

it's an honor to grow with you and all the siestas in Jesus. Praise His holy name!

The Journey Continues~

Happy Thanksgiving Blessings to all of you and the Siesta's!!!!

As I was traveling from the California central coast to the central valley this morning, something spectacular happened. It was overcast and cloudy ( rain forecast) and my husband put on Christmas music ... Well, Each time a song would mention CHRIST ~ the sun would shine through the clouds directly into my face. It was glorious!!! I am not exagerating this ~ it happened every single time! I also got to see deer and hawks!!!! OUR PRECIOUS GOD WAS TRULY SHOWING OFF FOR ME TODAY!!! It was the best Thanksgiving & Early Christmas blessing I could ever imagine!
How fun to hear about your celebration of "Clark Griswold style" Christmas lights, the haystacks~ yummy!! I would rather share hugs than my food when I was pregnant with little ones!! :)

My family will be celebrating at Grammy's home ( my mother) and my two sons will join us from university along with my brother, sis in law and adorable~~~ YES adorable 6 year old nephew!!
He invited "AUNTIE" to attend his Thanksgiving program on Wednesday morning in a little town called Springville. I am sure it will be glowing with sunshine from our CHRIST!

THANKS for the GIVING of LPM!
With "Heaven Bound" Blessings & sunshine,

I didn't comment earlier, but will now. I just wanted to share something that happened this morning. I was talking to a young friend of mine in the grocery store, he's a distributer. We were talking about his little girl and how sweet she is. He mentioned that he doesnt get to see her enough so I told him something that had recently been revealed to me (I'm slow). Our pastor was teaching on the Lord's prayer and said that "Our Father" translated was "Abba" Daddy for us, and that we are supposed to think of Him in that way.

Jesus gave that illustration so that when we prayed we would have those same tender feelings towards God that we do our fathers. So I told him to be sure and be that sweet father to her so she could have that frame of reference. I believe from the minute Christ uttered those sweet words the enemy has been on the war path so that our thoughts of our dads would mar the thoughts of Abba. Am I making sense? I didn't have warm thoughts about my dad for years...

Well a lady who also works there was listening and she came up to me and hugged me with tears saying thank you for sharing that, so it made me want to share it with you all too.

Love you all, Happy Turkey Week.

Judy

Oh, how fun! I'm tired alrdeady and our activities haven't really began. We've just had teeth cleanings and then found out our son, Jeremiah, has an infection in one of his teeth and it has to be pulled. So, I'll be going to the dentist again tomorrow. Also, I had to take my car to the shop to get new breaks. And delivering popcorn that people ordered from my son for Cub Scouts. And laundry, laundry, laundry! We'll be leaving for my parents home in Oregon on Wednesday. They live on a ranch. Much like Beth, not anywhere I would want to live. My children would just as soon stay, but not me. Of course, I grew up there and now live in town with the people like I like it and my children would rather be there. The grass is always greener!

Yes, Honea Household, there IS a difference between spanish peanuts and "regular" peanuts.

Go to the aisle with the nuts....you'll see. Spanish peanuts are a little more rounder than the others and they always have the little "skins" on them....which almost always get stuck on your teeth and you don't know till it's WAY too late.

Happy Happy Thanksgiving to my LPM sistas.. I have not written in a while because God gave me the gift of getting to travel all throughout europe for the month of November. For a poor m*ss*ionary I still can't get over Gods gift of provision for this trip for me. I am soo thankful for the goodness of our God. As i traveled around, I could see His awesome handprint over everything. He is truly an amazing God. I hope that you have an awesome thanksgiving. I will be spending my second thanksgiving here in nepal.. this year we were actually able to get an imported turkey!

Happy Thanksgiving to the Moores, Jones, and Fitzpatricks and all of you Siestas. Amanda, have a great time decorating "two" new rooms in your new home! What kind of outdoor lights is Clark, uh, Curtis putting up? We're having that discussion and can't decide what kind to use!

One of the things I'm most grateful for this year is our new home, that also came with "deer, steer and wild hogs"! Who knew that right in the heart of Texas one could have all that! I sat with my eyes glued to two doe and three fawn that gracefully crossed the barbed wire fence into our backyard a couple of nights ago!! It was so awesome! I know this is huntin' season here, but please...not in my yard :0) I love all God's critters, they just make me smile!!

Love & Thanksgiving blessings,
Bobbie

Happy Thanksgiving dear girl! I am the Clark Griswold of my family, so my five foot frame has been dangling off of ladders for the past several days! I am thankful for all of you and the wonderful LPM staff! Enjoy yourselves and just being together! I am so thankful to God for His consistency amid our inconsistency, and for sustaining "our very frame" through yet another year. Isn't He good?! Much love to all of you!

Had to pop in and say BETH - YOU WOKE ME UP!

I have no idea why my kids were watching INSP tv last night, but they left it on when they went to bed. I got in in the wee hours this morning to cut it off and there you were talking tabernacle. Like I could go back to bed on that.

Happy Thanksgiving Girls ! May the power of God rest on you this week!

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday! No gifts, no huge decorations - just food, family, friends, and fun. I'm so very thankful that God dropped me into my very own special family. We may not be normal (trust me on that one), but we are loved dearly by each other. I'm also so very grateful to this ministry for growing me in grace and in the Word. If you only knew the treasures I've received by doing these studies...

Happy Thanksgiving! I thank God in every remembrance of you!
Beth, I was watching you this morning. You were teaching on the thorn in the flesh! Thank you Thank you. The balloon was a perfect analogy. My bubble gets popped daily. Praise God for that!

We Canadians have had our Thanks Giving long past, but that really is only one day, We can be Thankful today with you our American Sisters. I pray you all have kind and gentle days today.
Reading your comments about your parents being away and you not being able to picture your mum not having people around yet your Dad willing to just check into that place of quiet is so like myself and my husband. We head south in a little bit and he would be there in Florida for 3 months straight where as I am not near ready for that, I love overseeing my ladies in groups I love Nacho's with my girlfirends and coffee and muffins with others I love seeing my children and grandchildren, I love most of what happens in my life, so many ladies so many ways to help. So many ways to listen, and hey even having my hair straight and not in big Puffy Frow is good to know as well.(Frows happen in Florida......)
Happy Thanks Giving LPM ladies.
