Quick Check
Hey, Darling Things! I just have the quickest moment to post an update. The Moores and Joneses are six hours from Houston in our Cactusland and far from cell/internet service. We came into a nearby town to worship today and right this moment we're in a delightful little restaurant where we - and the entire community's Lutherans, Methodists, and Baptists - are grabbing lunch. From what we hear, our properties and those of our staff members are either fine or have sustained minimal damage, may the Lord be praised!! Keith and I learned that our fence is down and we lost a couple of trees but our home is ok. The ministry building, which is surrounded by tall trees, is untouched. We were floored and so blessed. Many, many Houstonians - friends and loved ones included - took serious hits. The home of one of my dear friends was completely flattened. Several of our big churches also sustained considerable damage. We are among several million Houstonians who still don't have power so we're sitting tight until we get a green flag to head home. This is a great time for control freaks to exercise surrender. Needless to say, we are hoping for a green light soon. About half of our staff members stayed in town and trust me when I tell you that Houston/Galveston is NOT where you want to be this time of year with no electricity or fresh water. Please pray for them. For Heaven's sake, pray for everybody in this part of the country. So many lost so much. We also thank God so much for not allowing Ike to have all the power he wanted.
We don't know about Bible study Tuesday night. Doesn't look promising at this point but we'll keep you posted. Things could happen fast, God willing. I will DEFINITELY head to Billings, Montana, this weekend, so no threat there.
We love y'all like crazy, care about you so much, and thank you with all of our hearts for your prayers. We will ask God to spread them lavishly all over our region.
We hope to be back in touch very soon!!

Many thanks for letting us know you are safe. I know for sure now that I sincerely love you guys... because I've been worried sick all weekend!
Will continue to pray for the region...

My sister, her husband, and daughter evacuated from Galveston to Austin. They are having a difficult time getting info on their home and church. My brother-in-law is pastor of St. John Lutheran Church in Galveston. They live in Fish Village near the ferry dock. They don't know when they will be allowed to return. Your prayers are much appreciated.
Hey Moore Family, I have been wondering if you guys were o.k.
We are praying for all of you.
Stay safe and be careful going back home.
Love ya, Melissa in North Carolina
Thanks for the update Mrs. Beth. Glad to know how we can be praying!
Beth,
Thank you for taking the time to update us! I am praying!!
Blessings
Michelle
Thank you, Beth, for the update! I have been praying for all of you. My nephew and his new wife stayed there in Houston...so my heart and prayers have been focused there all weekend in their behalf and yours and the ones we love so dearly at LPM.
Also, my Chris' brother and sister in law were on a cruise for their 27 wedding anniversary and their new jeep was at the dock in Galveston. We have no idea where it might be right now. At least they are safe!!
Love you dearly...praying for deep soil in Montana for the Words God will plant.
Oh what a blessed thing to see a post! I could hardly wait to see if you had updated and how everyone is doing.
My church family here in Georgia prayed for y'all and we are going to continue to do so.
We love you all so much!

Praise the Lord for his provision and refuge! Voddie Baucham who pastors in Houston was teaching a conference at our church in Charleston, SC and we were getting updates on his family as well. We will continue to pray for you, your church & ministry as well as your entire community!
Praise Jesus.....I was just about ready to grab my kayak and come looking for ya'll!
I have worried about you, your family, and your staff the entire blasted weekend!!! I am so glad you are all safe and sound :) We Siestas will be stormin' the heavens with prayer for all of you in Huston/Galvaston, TX.
Thanks again for lettin' us know you are OK!
"He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed. They were glad when it grew calm, and He guided them to their desired haven." ~Psalm 107:29-30
My prayers are with the people of Galveston and Houston. Stay safe, Beth and family.
Thanks so much for the update,we were totally worried about you guys.
I have been praying for all of you. Glad to know yall are safe and pray when you go back that things will go well. May God be with all who have been touched by this and bring them the hope only He has.
love to you all
Thank you for the update. We have been praying for you and your family and the ministry and all people affected by Ike. You are so precious to us.
Love and Blessings, Debbie in Tennessee
So happy to hear that the LPM staff is okay. We are so blessed to not have suffered much damage here in Katy. Our family is in the Gold Triangle area which suffered horrible damage. All of Southeast Texas is in our prayers. Please let us know of any way we can help the LPM family if needed. Love to all of you!!
So thankful that all of you are fine and your homes are safe. I pray that you begin your journey back home soon. We prayed for your area in our morning worship service today. Blessings.
Beth,
I am glad you got to find out how y'all faired the storm; Hurricanes are not fun..this I know living in FL since 1990.
I hope your electricity comes on when y'all are ready to return...its horrible to have no a/c after a storm, because its as if all the air is sucked out of the atmosphere, and wind just doesn't exist...
I will keep you in my prayers..do you ever think to yourself, " And why did it hit here of all places?"
Well, we don't know the why, but I stand in agreement that He deserves the praise for being a MERCIFUL God..and all's I kept hearing on the news was how BAD it could have been..so at least you have that, to know that while there is damage, but to know what will come from the aftermath...people come together, like never before, to rebulid their crushed community.
Be Blessed you guys, and much love!

Glad to hear that you and your family are safe. We felt Ike all the way up here in OK. No rain today, beautiful fall weather. May God bless you with an early arrival home.
Praise God! He is good!!!

Praise the Lord for a good report! You have been so much on our hearts and minds, along with your fellow Houstonians, and we continue to pray that power is restored quickly and families can return home. I am a Raleigh girl, and once again, along with my mother and daughter(Tara), we will be doing bible study together starting tomorrow ~ STEPPING UP! Can't wait!! Linda
Praise God you're all fine!! I've been praying for you guys. I was just online looking at all the devastation and wondering if your homes were alright and thought I would check the blog to see if there was any news.
Thanks for the update.
On this Sunday afternoon as it is raining so hard (maybe after effects from Ike) in the midwest, I am reminded of how powerful our God is! God is in control and He sustains. He is our Great Provider and I am praying for each and everyone affected by Ike that He does exactly as He says He will do provide, comfort, love and on and on. May the Good Lord Bless each of you.
Love ya

Beth, so glad you are all ok! I am so excited to see your post. I am originally from Billings, but am now currently in Midland, TX.
I was at the Siesta Fiesta, it was my Birthday! What a present, it was an honor to hug you and choose one of your books.
I want to tell you that my mom, grandma and God willing my sister will be at your event in Billings. We are praying for God to bring my sister back to Him in a real way, she is caught in the trap of postmodern thinking that is rampant today. I will be praying for you that God gives you words to utter (Eph. 6:19). Thank you for being God's vessel!
Praise God for your good news!
Tonight my Bible study girls are meeting and going over our first week of homework in Stepping Up. I'm sure Day Three's homework will have a special meaning to us as we discuss " The Lord Your Keeper"/ Our Protector--shamar! Psalm 121:1-8 fits perfectly with all that went on this week with IKE. The "LORD was your shelter right by your side".
So good to hear from you. I will keep praying. Thank you for caring enought about us siestas to post. Love you all.
God's blessings for sparing the Moore's and Jones's and LPM from horrific damage. My son and family (including my precious 3-year-old twin grandsons!!) live in The Woodlands and did not do as well. There is now a BIG tree in their living-room making the house uninhabitable. This "Grammy" is praising God for no damage to my family!!! Stay safe....Love, Sue
We're so glad you are alright. We've been praying and will continue to do so.
We start up our Ladies' Class this Tuesday after taking the summer off. We are on our 3rd study of yours, "Jesus the One and Only". You will be in our prayers Tuesday morning.
Cedars Church of Christ Ladies' Bible Class, Wilmington, DE
I'm glad ya'll are safe! I have been praying for all of you like crazy! My mom and I are doing "A Woman's Heart: God's Dwelling Place" right now and I love it! She and I were talking about Ike this morning and I said, "I know this might be weird, but I've been so worried about Beth Moore since she lives in Houston! I've been wondering if she and the other Living Proof people are ok and if they got away! Since Beth is so down-to-earth and since she tells so many stories, I feel like I know her!" My mother said she felt the same way so we are both so overjoyed to hear that you are all safe and sound.
I pray that God gives ya'll a safe trip back home and that you'll be able to use this time to minister to the people of Houston.
--Kristen from Jackson, TN
So glad you are all ok! We are praying and will continue to do so. Thanks for updating us... I was wondering what had happened to everyone!
Blessings to you all at LPM and your families!
So thankful for the update! You all have been and will continue to be on my heart!
Praying for all involved!
God Bless- Emmy : )
So glad to hear from you Beth. I have been wondering about how you guys and your homes faired. Praise the Lord for His grace over you all.
So glad you and your clan are okay. I'll be praying for you and those who were not so fortunate.
love,
kaci
Thank GOD you are ok and only sustained minor damage! Thank God the storm wasn't as bad as predicted! We have a lot to be thankful for! Our thoughts and prayers are with you all and everyone in Texas right now!
Love,
Donna (the mom of twin boys)
I am so happy to hear from you!!! I have been praying and praying for all of you and your homes and praise God for protecting the ministry!! I will begin praying for your sweet friend who lost her home. My heart goes out to all of you in Houston. My pastor prayed today that God would perform supernatural acts and wonders for all of you. To restore electricity and to restore that which was destroyed!!
I will keep praying and believing God for all of you and Beth, I am praying for your conference this weekend!!
Much love,
Patty
Moore, Jones, and all those in the path of Ike --
We'll keep praying for a quick recovery, minimal red tape, a strong spirit, and the peace that surpasses all understanding (I think that peace thing will be pretty vital).
It just seems like it's storm after storm this year. I'm praying that God will use this to draw more of His people back to Him and for those who don't know Him, that it will draw them to Him. (whew -- that's a whole lot ot Him in that long sentence. Praise God there's a whole lot of HIM).
Take care and enjoy each other.
Mary
I am praying for you and all those touched by the hurricane. I am so glad you are doing well, as well as your family and staff. I live in tornado alley in Arkansas and I often calm myself with the reminder that God does have His way in the storm. I get really uncomfortable in thunderstorms, so I cannot imagine the force of a hurricane like Ike. It actually hit us last night and it was like nothing I've ever experienced. We often get the remainders of hurricanes but this one was very different. We have quite a bit of damage around here, so it is unimaginable to me what the people of Texas have experienced. I'm praying for safety and a quick recovery!
Beth,
Thank you for the update
We have been praying like crazy for all of you!
I am so thankful that God protected ya'll!
We will continue to pray God's covering over this whole experience
WE will pray that power and rebuilding will continue soon
May the enemy be bound and may God be glorified!
Blessings
Kim
Glad to know that you both and your staff are safe. And glad to know that you are still coming to Billings! One word of warning...we can have wind that feels like hurricane force winds - 40 mi/hr is not unusual. And very low humidity. Pack extra hairspray! :-)
Hi! Glad y'all are having a good time of relaxtion in Cactusland! What church did you guys visit?
It seems as though with all that could have happened God was so gracious and protected so many lives. It does put into perspective what really is important.
Glad you are safe and enjoying family time (forced time out).
enjoy

Beth and family--
So glad you are all okay!! You have been on the thoughts of many of us who are fans of Beth Moore studies. Am so relieved you are going to be able to make it to Billings this weekend. So many of us are so excited for a weekend "with the girls." I have two unbelieving friends, one of whom recently divorced and is seriously hurting, who are coming! I've been praying for you, Beth and your message and for their hearts to be sensitive to God's love and salvation!
We'll continue to be in prayer for those in Houston and surrounding areas. God bless you!
Traci in MT
Good to hear you are all ok and that you received little damage. Was praying for you and all of those in your State that was under the heavy hand of Ike. Two of my boys were at Pensacola Christian College when Ivan tore that town apart and been sensitive to those meeting up with hurricanes since then. I will continue to pray for you all as you wait this out.
Praise God your home and ministry building was spared. Everyone on your vicinity will be in our prayers!
Thank you sooo much for the update......know we haven't stopped praying!!!
Glad to hear the update on your family and staff members. This morning we lost power several times during worship service due to the winds of the tropical depression and we are located in SW Indiana. Thought of how much we depend on things that are man made. Take care!
We live in Indiana and right now we are getting some high winds from the remnants of Ike. Gust of about 50-60mph!
Glad to hear that you are all fine. We will remember those who are suffering in our prayers.
Beth
Thank you so much for checking in. I have been praying for your family and for you. I am so glad your house and work didn't sustain much damage. It is just so heartbreaking to watch the news and see all of the damage. What about your church? We are all praying for everyone. Stay safe!!
WEWWWWWWWWWWWWW, So glad you guys are ok! We were anxiously waiting to hear! Please let us know if there is anything we can do financially to help your friends!
My Dearest Beth,
I just checked the blog to see how the Moores/Jones were surviving Ike. I began praying for you all from the beginning of this storm. Hope all is well. I am a Siesta in Kentucky who loves you. Thanks for all you do to serve us by serving your Savior.
Amy H.
So glad to hear that you are OK. As I began to hear that it was nearing Houston I began to pray for you, your family and friends. We were in the path of Katrina, so know what it is like. I praise God that it was no worse. Thanks for keeping us informed.--Glenda Sinclair, McComb, MS
Love you guys so much and so glad to hear that you are okay...How it blesses my heart to hear that LPM did not sustain any damage! I was praying as were many other siestas for you guys.
Also glad to hear that your homes did not sustain much damage...fences can be rebuilt and trees replanted. So glad to hear that is all that you have to do. How's Amanda and Curt's place??? I am continuing to pray for those who've sustained major damage to their homes and the churches in the Houston area that sustained significant damage...Thank you Lord that this was not worse though! We thank you so much!
Can't wait to hear from you girls (and Keith and Curt of couse!) soon!
Love you....Bethany in Ca.
My Dearest Beth,
I just checked the blog and I am so glad to hear you are doing well and that your homes and LPM came through the storm OK. I began praying for the Moores/Jones as soon as I heard about Ike. I am a Siesta in Kentucky who loves you guys and is forever grateful for your ministry. Hope you are able to get back to normal soon.
In His love,
Amy H
Praise the Lord, and we'll keep praying! Blessings & ((Hugs)).
Heartbreaking. Simply heartbreaking hearing about the devastation of Ike. May the hand of God sweep you all up into His Arms and comfort You through this time of disaster. You know He is Creator! I am praying that He will be The Creator of New Life...both physical and spiritual in the areas suffering. He is a Good God. May all eyes focus on Him for healing. You know, I don't think you can really understand how Good He is until you are in a hopeless situation and praise Him in spite of your storm. May you all soon be back home and back to normal. I pray for ya'll in the name of Jesus.
Praise God! I am so glad to know that you at LPM are ok. We will continue to pray for the people in Houston/Galveston are safe!
We thank you Lord that you have protected our Beth and her family and their homes and the ministry place. Thank you Lord that the winds and rains do obey you! Please continue to be with everyone touched by Ike. Bring power back quickly. May you be glorified through all! In the mighty name of Jesus! Amen
Praise God all are safe!! Been through too many storms like that here in West Palm Beach, FL!! Prayers continue for the recovery and needed restoration efforts. Actually...pray for that anyway on SO many levels!! Stay safe and DON'T try to go home till it's safe! Hope all Moore animals fared well in the storm?? Seem to remember stories that they didn't like bad weather much :) Praise to the Lord of the Storm! Adonai, El Elyon--the Most High God! --Paula
We here in Florida are praying for all of you in Texas!!
So glad to hear that the Moores and the Joneses are ok! We have been praying here in Louisville, KY and will continue to do so.
We have had incredibly high winds even here. Trees are down and houses and cars are damaged, but nothing, I'm sure, compared to what Houstonians are experiencing.
Praise be to God for the blessing that is all is well with you and yours. I have family in Houston as well and they have escaped the most severe damage also.
Praying for a quick return home for ya'll.
Blessings,
Royana
Praying for all those affected by Ike. May the lord bring cool weather and no rain for a while. Will be praying for your weekend in Billings, may the lord use you in a mighty way. blessings, robin
Hey Everyone:
It is good to hear from you. I live in Katy and we got the "clean" side of it, so I can only imagine what the rest of the area looks like. Our fence is down to, and we are so thankful. The trees were literally sideways. We live in AR. for a couple of years and we had some violent thunder storms, but this is my first experience of a hurricane. The mountains in WV really protect us from too much harsh weather.
I have really been broken into living in this area, from getting lost all over the place, driving int the city two days after I got here and then a couple weeks later. But this took the cake.
I am heart broken for thepeople in Galveston and downtown Houston and LA. and everyone else that got hit. This is the time for us to give and help neighbors. I think even if you have to eat beans for two weeks or whatever, I would urge everyone that can to give whatever. I am sure every little bit helps....blood, five dollars, or whatever.
Anyway, I'm glad y'all are safe. I feel terrible watching the TV, seeing mothers and children hot and displaced and we just got our power and water. I know that my family (me included), just don't get it. We (my family and I) start complaining after a few hours when we should be praising God. These things really put it in perspective and Beth, you hit the nail on the head with the control/surrender thing. My husband and I were driving yesterday and talked about that.
We all need to pray hard for everyone affected and praise God, like Beth said, that Ike was not worse.
Hi Miss Beth,
Please know that your friends in Virginia are praying for you and the great state of Texas right now!
We love you and are thankful that you and your family are safe.

Dear Moores and Joneses -
Praise God that you are all OK.
Thanks for the quick update.

Dear Moores, Joneses and LPM,
You and all of Houston have been in my prayers as I watched transfixed as Ike roared in and destroyed all in its path. When you have lived through a natural disaster like a hurricane and its aftermath, watching anyone else suffer the same brings all of those feelings rushing back as if it happened yesterday. My family had over 5 feet of water in our home during Hurricane Hugo on Sept. 21,1989, no power for 28 days and no telephone until Thanksgiving week. We lost all wedding pictures, baby pictures, etc., as well as, furniture, etc. We had 6 inches of pluff mud in our house that we hosed out for 10 days, and on and on. We had NO flood insurance..... we had grandfathered into our mortgage that was really old. Scared doesn't begin to describe how I felt. It took us 9 months to try to put our lives back together.
I weep for those who have lost so much and praise God for the people and property that were spared. Because Hugo was the worst hurricane in the history of the country at that time, a team of counselors came in to work with the churches and ministers to help people cope. The following advice given to us is what I wrote in my journal and these words are so very true:
It takes 15 days to get over the shock of the disaster.
It takes 15 months to begin to have something that resembles a normal life. (It will never be like it was before!)
It takes 1500 days (5 years) to begin to feel safe again.
Please pass this on to the ministers and counselors in Houston/ Galveston.
Please know that my heartfelt prayers are with all of you as you face the enormity of the aftermath and recovery period. It will be overwhelming and devastating to many. But this I can promise you: God is faithful to give you strength when you have nothing left to give; humility to stand in a FEMA line (never thought I would EVER do that!); and grace to endure all things (humiliations beyond your dreams). He will give you a compassion and love for strangers you never knew before and you will know genuine gratitude for the tiniest kindnesses (hot water to take a bath, ice and water). And finally, it will put your priorities in order... God and family first, all other things follow (they will never be what they were before this hurricane). Life will be "before" and "after" Ike. Even now, 19 years later, when I can't find something that I treasured dearly, I will just think, "Oh, it got Hugoed!"
So I encourage all of you to look for the rainbow.... it is God's covenant with you. And you will survive this, for you are being refined in the furnace of the aftermath and you will come forth as gold. God bless all of you! Love and Prayers to you!
GG, Charleston, SC

I have been in prayer for everyone in the "Ike" area. I thought about you all as I watched the Weather Channel and other news. I am so glad the Living Proof "home" was not damaged, and I pray for everyone who was affected. As bad as this storm was, I praise God that it wasn't any worst!!
Thanks so much for the update!!
God Bless You!!
Thanks for the update Beth. I knew you and the Jones' had left for safer ground but it is great to know that you all are safe and well. I have been praying for you all as well as everyone effected by this hurricane.

So very good to hear good news from you after so many daunting reports.
Continuing to pray...
I know you guys have a lot on your minds. I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU for posting on the blog and telling us you are okay. That was a relief to see the posting. CINDY in HIGH POINT, NC
So glad to hear you are doing well, no major damages, and you have been out of harms way! What a storm. God is good to calm it some.
Thinking of you in NC.
Dear Beth, Thank you for giving us an update. Have been praying for you and all those in Ike's path. It helps to know how to pray for you and everyone affected.
Will continue to pray for Houston and Galveston and all points in between! I'm glad your family is together and safe. And praise God the ministry building is unharmed!
Love, Karen in OC, CA
glad to hear everyone is safe!
Sweet Beth,
Cannot tell you how blessed I am to see that you and your family are safe and sound. I have prayed for you often this week and am so thankful to our WONDERFUL GOD for keeping ya'll safe!
I came home from the Deeper Still Event in Las Vegas last weekend (which was absolutely INCREDIBLE by the way)and stumbled across this blog... I cannot tell you how sweet it is that you would take time to write and connect with the many of us out there that have been so blessed by your ministry. I actually feel like I get to be a little part of your world this way and I am SO VERY BLESSED! Thank you for all that you do!
Felicity La Rue
a new siesta! :) YAY!
I stayed in the Beaumont area because of work. There is not much damage here but they say it will be four weeks until we have electricity. Major electrical grids were knocked out. And with Galveston, Houston, Sabine Pass and Orange being hit so hard Entergy has their workforce really spread out thin. Hurricane Rita did a lot more damage, three years ago, to all of our homes. My motto: "a cold shower and clean underware does a siesta good".
I went to the blog hoping there was an update, and yes-sir-eee there was. I have been praying for all of you at LPM along with some precious family members who live in Houston. It was good to hear a good report...I will continue to keep you and all those who experienced Ike in my prayers.
Been praying for all of you at LPM and the folks from your area. Will continue to pray. Thanks for the update.
Forever His,
Lawan Rivera

Oh Beth, glad to hear you all are well and that the damage is minimal. Definitely thought long and hard for you all today when some in the north here found their basements or first floors flooded and needed assistance. Prayers and blessings, Beckie
Glad that you are okay! We've been praying here in NC for the Houston area, your family, the LPM ministry, and everyone else too!
Glad to know you are all safe ")

Oh my goodness. You all have been in my thoughts and prayers so much over the last few days. I live in Alabama, so I understand the destruction and feelings of helplessness that a hurricane can bring.
Thanks for checking in and letting us know you are all ok!
Dear Mama Beth and the gang,
I am so happy to hear that you all are ok, and for the most part your homes are untouched and your ministry was unharmed. I guess you could say my spirit was antsy to hear from you, as I have been praying and sometimes you need to know how those prayers were answered. So thank you for the quick check in...I'll still keep praying!
Sometimes you might need some rest, and God uses different ways to get us to rest. I hope you all have had a restful time, even though I know your thoughts and prayers were constant for all those back at home.
Love you so much - I am so thankful for the calling God has on your lives - you are AWSOME blessings!
Kate in Charlottesville
Thanks so much for letting us all know how our dear friend and her family and loved ones are doing. You've all been in my thoughts and prayers.
Love to you all and much gratitude for all you have done to lead me closer to HIM!
glad to hear...have been waiting on updates!
So glad to hear from you and all is well. I got an e-mail from one of our siesta's in Houston and she said they are about an hour from the coast, no power, phone, water etc...she has sporadic cell phone so that's how she e-mailed me. They have a modular home and said no damage, praise the Lord.
In Arkansas we had winds and rain over night and many were without power this morning. I had power and our church had power but many did not. All from Ike, he gets around doesn't he?
Thank you for taking time to update us. I'm so thankful to hear the report.
I've thought so much about you all and have definitely kept you in my prayers.
Love,
Valerie
My prayer is that the aftermath of the storm doesn't give Satan a footing for the folks that signed up for your Tuesday night Bible study. And for quick return of power and water. And for everyone to treat each other like the First Century church in Acts 2.
Peace,
Kim in Apex, NC
Oh so glad to hear from you! Praising God for answered prayers! And, I will continue to pray for the whole "really big" area!
Also, selfishly praising because you said you would DEFINITELY be coming to Billings. We wondered this morning at church if you would be able to make it. Me, Veronica, Miesta Moose and 10 of our peeps will be there! Look for us...we like to sit on the aisle about 7-10 rows back on your left. We'll wave!
Love you all, so much.
Melana and Miesta Moose in Wyoming
So glad to hear from you. Thank you for knowing we are like worried mother hens... Praying for everyone in the path of this mess. And also for the people running the shelters who also have no power. That they will have the patience and love required for such an undertaking. Let Jesus be your strength. Love to you all,
Judy
Dear Father - thanks for the strike to Ike. Please get the power back up again, soon.
Loving you girls in South Texas and your families,
Warm in Alaska.
So glad all is well with you and your loved ones.
So glad you will be in Billings- can't wait to see you- I am flying from Florida just so I can be there.
See you Friday
Dear ones,
So good to hear from you. You've been in my thoughts & prayers all weekend. I, too, rejoice that Most High God restrained Ike, and that all of you are present and accounted for. My husband & I lost our home in 1998 when wildfires swept thru our Florida community, so our hearts really go out to those who have experienced loss. Interestingly, my husband (also my pastor) preached today from James 1:2-4 on "Facing Life's Testing Times." Always a timely word, but it seems even more so just now. We continue to keep you in our prayers.
Love you all,
Donna
Glad to hear you are all right. Im glad to hear you left town. Having lived through Katrina, its no fun at all to be without electricity, gas, food and water.
I'm praying for y'all!!
Love,
Missy
Beth, Amanda & Family,
Thank you, Father! Another family spared Ike's wrath. We've heard from all our family in Houston and all are okay. We've heard that my brother-in-law in League City already has his power back on!
I've been praying for all our family, the Moores and Jones, included since we heard about Ike.
Love,
Mary Ann

Thank You, Jesus for your protection around our friends and their friends and families! You calm the storm(s) of our life to allow us to (once again) rely totally on you. Your grace is sufficient!! Now, Lord, PLEASE bring our Beth and family Home safely and continue to bless this ministry that means so much to us all!!! May your NAME continue to be praised!!!
Beth,
Thanks so much for touching base with us! You know we've all been sitting tight waiting to hear a word from one of you, so it's good to hear that y'all are safe and that your home, ministry building, and your staff's homes have minimal damage. Praise God indeed!
I am continuing to pray for Houston, Galveston, and all those affected by Ike. We were hit by Hugo back in 1989 (I believe that was the year) and I can remember sitting in the hallway with my parents, my sister, our elderly neighbor, and my precious 2 yr old niece who thought we were having a party! Haha. Oh..and my Bible against my chest as I quoted Scripture over and over in my mind! That was the longest night of my life! The sounds we heard, the many many pine trees falling all over our yard, cars, etc.., but NOT ONE fell on our home. Praise God! We were without power and water for two weeks. It destroyed part of our church. I'll never forget that time. So I'm understanding how you all are feeling and know how to pray specifically.
Say hey to everyone and hope to hear from you again soon! :)
Much love to all of you,
Missy in SC
Beth:
I am glad to hear that you guys got a favorable report concerning your homes and the LPM office, plus all the people you love and care about. Reading all the news about Ike has been simple amazing. I mean the power that it held and to think that our God holds so much more. To think that the one true God is on our side. Why do I ever worry? If one could just remember that one truth just think what a difference it would make in our lives. And the warnings that some received and did not heed, makes me think of the many times God give me a heads up and I don't heed it. Not sure all this makes sense. Anyway, I am definitely praying for those in the Ike struck areas. I know that all are in great need right now.
Love Kim B. in AZ
I am so glad to hear you and your home and ministry building are OK. I have been wondering. Do you know about Amanda's home?
I am praying for all in Texas and Louisiana. I am from FL so we are very familiar with the way hurricanes affect your life.
May God be glorified in this disaster!
Thanks for letting us know, so glad to hear you are safe and praying for all those affected by Ike.
Couldn't stop thinking about you all!! I prayed and prayed. So wonderful to hear that the Lpm house being untouched. We will continue to lift up your friends who were touched by Ike.
Thanks for keeping us updated. We've thought about and prayed for you all often here in Atlanta. My girls kept watching the weather channel and saying "Oh Mom, I'm so glad Siesta Fiesta was WAY before this weekend!"
Praying for your safety as you return home and begin to the clean up! If we were there we would lend a hand...
blessings,
stephanie
Thanks for the update. We have thinking and praying for you and your family all weekend...
I was thinking about when Amanda shared once about being there and you cooked chicken and dumplings (her favorite) and she was pregnant and she got a really BIG cupful even after you told her guests were coming..LOL So I was hoping you made Amanda a BIG pot of dumplings!
love ya!
Teresa
uzqmBeth,
Thank you for the update. It was good to hear from you. Many many prayers have been offered on your behalf and for all in the line of Ike's wave of destruction. Let each of us continue to pray for those less fortunate who lost so much.
As Beth said, Lord, we do thank you for not allowing the storm to be as bad as it could have been.
Love you guys!
Mary
God be praised!
Thank you for updating, as I've been thinking about you all!
Praise the Lord for His protection! I will be praying for everyone! I remember what it was like to be without power or water in the heat of summer after hurricane Fran hit here in Raleigh a few years ago.
Stay safe and know lots of prayers and love are being sent your way!
Kristi B.
So glad to hear things for you were great. I just left my aunts house by I-10 and Beltway 8 and every other house is destroyed. Some houses were hit by 1 huge pine tree.
And lets not mention the stench of sewer.
This control freak is learning alot about surrender :0) Especially since I have no power still.
I better get off I am sitting in a parking lot using the Hampton inn's internet. Stay safe and enjoy your family time.
Much Love.
Praying for you and your family, as well as all those displaced by the hurricane.
See you in Billings this weekend! I cannot wait!
So glad to know you are all okay. I continue to hold you up in prayer, and all others effected by this storm. God bless you! Thanks for posting!
<><
Gail
Beth, good news about your team and the LPM building. Our prayers are with those less fortunate! We are thankful no more lives lost in this terrible storm. Hope you can soon get home and back to normal.....what is normal!
Blessings!
Sharron
Thank you for the update! I have been praying for all of you and the whole area; praise God that you are all okay. Also wanted to say that I was at the Deeper Still Event in Las Vegas and it literally changed my life. My relationship with God did go deeper and I was one of the ladies who came forward to lay down once and for all the list of things the enemy kept dredging up. Thank you, dear Beth for that. Blessings to you all - deeply changed in Salt Lake
Dear Beth and all:
I have been praying for all of you during Ike's determination to create havoc in everyone's life. I'm praising God that He who created the winds and the rain will also show His omnipotence in the response of fellow believers who reach out to help so many in need. Our ladies group is thankful for you and your ministry!
blessings,
Ginger in Alabama
Moores and Jones,
Praise God from whom all blessings flow!! We have been praying for you and all of the Houstonians . God is still on the throne and I Believe God --thats what my Siesta Mama is teaching me.My 10 siesta are on the fourth week and God is blessing us as he opens our eyes to the many truths that he has for us in his precious word. We will continue to pray for all of you and I hope that you got milk and bread before you began waiting out the storm.
Having gone through Katrina, and losing almost everything I own, I can so relate to this whole hurricane thing. It's awful. I will be praying for you and the people of Houston and nearby towns. Hope ya'll get to get back home soon, with power!
Hey Sweet Girls,
I am so glad to hear from you and to know that you all are safe. You and all of your families have been in my constant thoughts and prayers. What a mess a hurricane can make both of our material and emotional lives at times, but thanks to God nothing is so big that we can't somehow get throughit. My prayers will continue to be with all of my Texas Siestas.
God Bless
Donna Hopkins
Thanks so much for letting us know. I have been checking often since Sat. to see how you all were doing. We continue to pray for all of you and this area and are looking forward to hearing about many miracles God has done.
Thank you so much for taking the time to post. Continued prayers for all Houstonians. Lucky Billings Montana - they will have a wonderful weekend with you there!:) (They also have a gorgeous state.)
Linda MI
Dearest Mama Beth, You have been on my mind so much. Thank you, Jesus, that You have shown Yourself so mighty, both in the storm and in Your mercy. I pray for my sisters in Houston/Galveston. May they find You in the devastation that they are facing. You are our Deliverer and Redeemer. And thank you, Jesus, that what was meant for our harm, You have meant for our good. Only You can bring resurrection from destruction. Will pray for a speedy return for the Moores and Joneses to Houston. Love, Shawn
So happy to have an update. Have been praying for all of you. What a blessing that things are all right for you.
I am so glad to hear that all of you are okay. I have been praying fervently for all of those affected by Ike, including us!
I am already praying about Billings and am glad to hear that Ike won't affect your plans.
I look forward to hearing good news about all of you getting back home and everyone having electricity and water restored!
I am so glad we serve the Lord of the wind and the waves!
So glad your clan is safe and that your properties were spared. Pray you get to return home soon!
hey Beth and family,
Thank you so much for letting us know you are all safe. I will keep your area families and churches in my prayers. I will be in Billings on Friday to see you, however if for some reason you needed to cancel because of 'Ike'. I would get that. Blizzards are what we have in Wyoming but nothing beats the devastation from a hurricane. I will also pray for your safe travel this week and the Lord to bless you in preparation for our Spirit journey and what God has to say to me.
Love to you all and All you other Siestas in Texas my love to you.
Darcie L. Sheridan Wyoming
I've been checking yours and Amanda's blog for a little update and so glad to finally get one. I am glad you all are safe and your property damage is minimal....but def feel for your staff members who stayed behind. We'll continue to pray for you all...
Jeannie
Not to worry. You know y our siestas are praying for everyone. At our church today we also prayed for everyone in Texas hit by Ike. Praise God always that's for sure. Glad to hear ya'll are safe. Keep us posted and we'll definitely continue to pray as always. Many blessings, Mary Anne from Colorado Springs
So glad to hear you got out of Houston!
Glad to hear you going to Billings!
Beth, my church in Mooresville NC wants to come down to help-any idea of what .........
Well, as you said, you really don't know what is happening -so could you please keep us posted of needs in Houston or Gal or even more to LA-
We want to help and just need places to stay so that we can work-
or maybe hook us up with a church!
praise God you and your family are OK!
please keep us posted!

I am so glad you're fine, Beth Moore and company!! I prayed for you!
We are praying for all those affected by Ike. I know God allows these things so we learn to trust him and some will suffer loss. Thankfully it is not the kind of loss that threatens our salvation! I know we have it so much easier nowadays. Imagine if we did not have advance warning!
Beth,
Glad to hear you are all ok. I know that there will be many who are hurting after Ike... We will be praying for those who are now facing the clean up efforts. I will be praying for courage to face the difficult task ahead, patience as you wait for those who will be helping you (insurance folks, contractors and so forth) and for peace as each deals with their specific loss.
We have walked this road before with Isabel on the East Coast, so we certainly feel your pain.
Much love and lots of prayers!
Praise our Lord! So glad to see your post. ABBA is answering prayers and He shall continue. To Him be the glory. Stay safe! Love to you all.
Praise GOD, Almighty, He is! I am so glad to hear you are well! Will keep all in prayer. And when I read that this does not affect your MT trip my throat closed up and tears of joy and relief sprang to my eyes! My precious girlfriends and I had our first Stepping Up meeting tonight and afterward coordinated our trip to Billings on Friday. We are beside ourselves with excitement for this time with each other and you! We are in Miles City, MT. It is east of Billings. May our good and sovereign God bless you and keep you! In Him, xoxoxo, Adrian
You all have been in my thoughts and prayers. A gentleman from our church here in Colorado had a sister in Bridge City. She didn't evacuate and had to be rescued by helicopter yesterday. She was taken to San Antonio with only the clothes on her back. I don't think she has any money. He is considering driving down to get her so please remember them in your prayers. Love you all and glad that you are safe!
Thanks for your update--I've been thinking about you each time I see headlines about Ike. We are in Bolivia--in a bit of a different kind of crisis if you've seen those headlines! Anyway, praying for you and glad you are safe. God is SO GOOD--all the time.
Have been thinking and praying for you all. Will continue to send them yer way. God be with you....
It's hard to request considering my request seems unnnecessary compared to what everyone's experiencing with Ike- but please pray for me- it's been 11 years of waiting on the seed--an unfaithful husband, a child hurt severely- praise God he is ok- financial burdens, and yes much more--so please pray that my heart can be drawn back to Christ- i've been off the blog for a year and miss it--but my spirit is weary and my soul is aching for the dissappointment to wain. Thanks Beth for your perseverence and faith. Love, Shell
So glad you are OK. Thanks for keeping us updated. As we were in the path of Katrina I understand how you feel. God bless you, we are praying for you. Glenda Sinclair, McComb, MS
So good to hear from you and thankful to hear that your damage was minimal. We used to live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and certainly have experienced many hurricanes, so our hearts are tendered to those who come in the pathway of those storms. We will continue to pray for the victims of Ike as everyone begins the clean up/rebuilding process. Hope you get the green light soon! Love you all bunches!
Continuing to pray for all that have lost property and have been through so much with this storm. I praise the Lord the LP ministry building is okay. I watched through the early morning hours on Sunday; watching the Fox news anchor clinging to the palm tree in Galveston, and it reminded me to keep praying for all the dear sisters in TX... I pray for their strength and patience as many will begin the clean up, and for those without power and water... God be with you!!
Praying for all of you!!!
So glad to hear you and your family are OK. May God be praised!
Sheri in NC
God's peace be with you and His mercy with the affected...living through Katrina (I was in Pascagoula during her ...4 ft for 5 hours wasn't fun and worse was the two weeks after...then the months of recoop)I can empathize.
I know this comment won't be posted till ya'll get your internet, but I want you to know I've been praying for you like crazy! And I won't stop anytime soon!
Thanks for updating us and letting us know how things are going.
So glad your family is safe & your property had minimal Damage! Praise the Lord!! I've been praying & will keep it up!
So great to hear from you!! Blessed be God you are all safe and together!
Love, DQ Nana
Dear Beth & family: What a joy to hear some news and know that you're doing well. I live in Norfolk, VA and we were here without power for 9 days after Isabel. It was a very sanctifying experience! I still don't like candles!
May the Lord bless and keep His hand on all our dear brothers & sisters in the great state of Texas.

Hi Miss Beth,
I am so glad [and yes, I do mean jumping up and down glad] that most of Y'all were able to get out of the Houston area !!!
However, I have several friends who live to the NW of downtown Houston, and they were forced to ride it out.
And, although they are praising God that their homes are okay [for those people that I was able to talk to, anyways], they are having to deal with being without both electricity and water ! Eeks!
But, they are sisters in Christ, so I am praying that they can stay strong throughout this ordeal...
Love in Christ Jesus,
Jennifer

Praise the LORD for many blessings!
Many prayers also.
Love you guys at LPM and prayerfully, everything will be put back together fairly fast!
Delilah
Dear Beth,
Thanks so much for posting this ... I have been wondering about you so much - between watching your DVD's at home while I work and doing your study on Psalms at Sunday School, you have been heavy on my mind. I've been praying for you all in southeastern Texas. (We've been watching on the internet here in Oklahoma.) I'm so thankful you all are safe - I'm sure the next weeks and months will be quite a time of reaching out to your neighbors ... loving your neighbors ... I'll be praying that as you do so, they will see Christ in you.
Blessings,
Carol Detweiler, Corn, OK
Beth,
So glad you, your family, and loved ones are all ok. All those touched by the hurricane are in my thoughts and prayers.
Blessings to you.
The Journey Continues

REJOICE IN THE LORD, AGAIN I SAY, REJOICE IN THE LORD!!!
He is too awesome for words!
Thank you, Beth, for taking the time to give us a much-wanted report!
We will keep everyone in our continual prayers.
In Him completely,
jean dean <><
I'm giving thanks for his everlasting love this morning, for his provision, for his amazing joy that he sets before us. We didn't make it back to Houston last evening from the airport, but as God would provide, there was a nice hotel right in the airport. We slept well last night and at 3:53 a.m. (CST) we are sitting in the airport awaiting our flight back to Houston. We slept well (all 4 hours) and the best part was I showered and had coffee so I feel like I can take on the day (or night) No telling what awaits us, (no gas, no power, no water so far and some flooding,) but we have been blessed once again to know His ever-catching, ever-preserving Hand--and the best time this weekend with friends--how sweet is that! Love,
Annette
Beth, I am so thankful that you and yours are safe...lifting up those whose homes and lives are impacted by the damage...thanks for letting us know that your family is all right.
Praise the Lord!
We are praying for South Texas hard in DFW! Take care, be safe and God bless all of you down there.
Love from Hurst, TX

So glad you and your family are safe. You and the rest of your Houstonians have been in my prayers!
thank you for the update. I have been wondering how everything turned out! I feel so hurt for everyone in Texas, and I am praying for continued safety and support from the nation.
wendy
Living in hurricane alley in Fl I sympathize greatly with the recovery process. My prayers are with you. I want to thank you so much for your faithfulness in presenting the word. I was in Las Vagas and my head is still reeling!
So glad your family is safe. I continue to lift up those who suffered damage from the storm. My small group leader (and friend) works for a disaster relief company and headed to Houston the day before Ike hit. We have been texting back and forth about the conditions. I know one of her big projects is for a baptist church. Take care!
As I watch the news of the aftermath of Ike,tears stream down my cheeks. The videos of the
Galveston/Houston area, reminds me so much of the days after Katina.
We would normally be gearing up to go assist in the clean-up efforts, but out plates are full back here in St. Louis so we cannot go. I guess that the Lord has other plans for us this time. My heart goes out to those who have sustained such great loss. I just pray that many will come to know the Lord through this most unfortunate disaster. I pray for the military and the relief workers. I pray for the homeless down in the colonias of Mexico that have been affected and will not have assistance. Lord be their Rock and their Strength. Comfort them all with Your measureless love!!!
So glad to hear from you!! You and your family have been in my prayers. Love you bunches!!
Hi Beth,
I'm so glad to hear that your family is safe and sound. Great news about the minimal damage to your home and L.P. office. God is so good!
I grew up in Louisiana and know all about life in the midst of hurricaines. My parents made it through Hurricaine Katrina and just moved to Spring, Texas a couple of months ago. My sister and her family live in Kingwood so my heart goes out to all of you.
My husband is an insurance claims adjuster and specializes in catastrophic diaster situations. He is on his way to Houston today. I'm praying that he will not only help Houstonians with their propoperty damamge but share the love of Christ with them during this very difficult time.
I told him "Honey, your going on a mission trip!" He just smiled and said "Ya know, your absolutely right.". Who knows, maybe he'll show up and fix that fence for you :) :) :)
Sweet blessing & many prayers,
Leah DiPascal
So glad you're safe. Thank you Lord and continue to comfort those with losses.
Praying for you and everyone affected by the hurricane. Just wanted to share this excerpt from "The One Year Book of Praying through the Bible—365 Devotions—Experience the Power of the Bible Through Prayer: by Cheri Fuller: Our present troubles are quite small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us an immeasurably great glory that will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see right now; rather, we look forward to what we have not yet seen. For the troubles we see will soon be over, but the joys to come will last forever.--2 Corinthians 4:17-18
Our Light Afflictions--Some people would argue that the concept Paul presents in these verses is a cop-out, an “opiate.” Indeed, if we are trying to avoid the pressures of life and secure some future pleasure, they might be right. However, if we are fixing our eyes on the eternal God and he is transforming us into his likeness, that’s another story! Our challenge is to learn to see Jesus as he is. Paul tells us to leave our worldly understanding behind and to lay hold of the true, eternal Treasure, Jesus himself. Jesus told the Samaritan woman, “God is Spirit,” and therefore, spiritually discerned, and his disciples, “On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you” (John 14:20, NIV). “That day” was after his resurrection, and it is now. Our present troubles are designed to turn our attention away from the temporal and toward the eternal, that we might live in God’s glory, now and forever!
LORD JESUS, focus my eyes clearly on the eternal, for that puts my present troubles into a proper perspective. Help me to see you as you are, to perceive you with my spirit, not just with my mind, and to realize that you are in me and I am in you! What glory!
"God [IS] speaking to Job out of the whirl-wind, and saying, “In the sunshine and the warmth you cannot meet me; but in the hurricane and the darkness when wave after wave has swept down and across the soul, you shall see my form and know that your Redeemer lives.”--Frederick William Robertson (1816–1853)
Dear Beth,
Praise the Lord! We continue to pray as the rebuilding begins. After Katrina, I learned a few lessons that hopefully would be helpful to you now. There is a great way to purify your water. I bought a water purification system from an outdoor/camping company. It is the Katadyn microfilter water purification. It cost about $90 and no electricity is required, you pump by hand. It is small and light weight and pumps about 2 liters per minute. Hope this helps in some small way.
Polly
Momma Beth:
Praise our Father that you and yours are ok.
My Family's house has a tree over the back but everyone came out fine. My son's in laws house was ruined by the water as well as his sister in laws house is completly gone. BUT, everyone is out safe and with time and electricity and insurance they will rebuild. So for all of those who were touched by IKE.. I pray Great Grace to you and your families during this really tough time.
Love to all
Lichelle
Beth and Family,
I am so glad to hear you are OK! I was concerned and am very grateful to see your posting.
Yes, we need to pray for everyone who was affected by Ike. I hope you get to go home soon.
Prayers and Hugs,
Melissa

Spiritual Mom Beth!:)
That is a definite praise that your properties are minimally damaged and that your ministry building is intact! Such an answer to my prayers at least!:) I will pray for your loved ones still in Houston and Galveston. He is their Provider. He is the peace that passes all understanding. I am glad you are sitting tight till at least the power comes back:) Yes, Praise the Lord! It could have been worse. I have and will continue to pray for LIT and Billings and other events coming up for you:) All your siestas love you all like crazy too-soo glad you all are safe!:) Will continue to pray:)
katiegfromtennessee
Keeping all of you TX girls in my heart. Praying!!
Hugs...
Thank you so much for the update. I am been praying and will continue to do so, but am so relieved to have an update.
This will be a chance for the Siestas to put hands and feet to love in action. If God's people come together to serve those who have lost so much, we can move mountains (and there will be mountains of debris, you can be sure of it). After having served in cleanup during Katrina in Gulfport, Missisipi, and seeing lives changed because of the love shown to those in need, we have the chance again. Please keep us posted of opportunities to serve.
Beth, so glad you are all safe and tucked away unharmed! Also glad your home is safe even though it sounds like you lost a few things. So minor compared to the devastation around you.
Thank you for updating us.
So many prayers for everyone in Houston/Galveston without power!! Please do keep us updated as you can - so glad you all are safe!! Much love!
thanks for the update! we'll keep praying for everybody affected! :)
Thank you so much for keeping us updated. I have been wondering and praying for all of you, Beth. Thank you Lord, for keeping you and your home/ministry safe. Here in Ohio, we had horrible winds & power outages on Sunday. Most of the schools were canceled today due to no electricity. If we had such bad conditions HERE, I can't imagine what went through THERE. Oh, how the Lord teaches us to live one day at a time. :) Love you & blessings to you all.
Prayers have been going out for all of you from us in north Alabama.
I grew up on the Alabama gulf coast and weathered several hurricanes. Packed for college by candlelight thanks to Hurricane Frederick in '79.
As we go about our "normal" lives unscathed by Ike, I will lift all of you up who don't know when things will seem "normal" again.
Karen
Praise You, LORD. We are so thankful. I will continue to be in prayer for those in the Houston area.
So glad to here your report on the storm. My family and I have been praying for you from Croatia and will continue to pray for you all there in Texas.
So glad to hear from you!
Praise the Lord for your good news! I continue to pray for those who have lost so much, like the friend you mentioned. May they have the peace that passes all understanding.
Ike hasn't left Missouri untouched either. We had way to much rain on already soaked land. Lots of flooding up here in areas that aren't even considered flood plains. Saturday night into Sunday morning was scary. I think it was the smallest bit of a taste of what you all experience w/hurricanes. YIKES!
Take care.
Much love.
Anna
Beth, thanks for checking in. WE have all been praying for you all and all the people affected by IKE. There is such devastation... you are right we have to give control up to the mighty one... so glad you all are alright.
So glad to hear from you as all of us are, Beth. I know I am with every single siesta that has been praying like crazy for your family, ministry and all of Houston! God is good and we know He will prevail through the hardships of all, thank you, Father!!
Thanks for touching base with all of us who have been anxious to hear from you!
much love and to those precious pups too, bunny
Good Morning,
I know this may not be the appropriate place to ask for this, so I apologize. (I'm not looking for my comment to be posted. :) I was wondering if the "commissioning" that we said to each other at the end of the Deeper Still conference could be posted. It was so very moving, and touched many hearts. I know that several in my group alone would like copies, so I'm safely assuming others would like it as well.
Thank you! God bless your tender servant hearts!
Beth,
Thanks so much for your update. We were worried about you, your family and the LPM folks. Fear is a tricky and paralyzing thing but we will keep praying and give BIG thanks for Jesus for His protection of you and yours.
Good to hear you and your family are safe. I live in Ohio and have been focused on the storm and was praying for minimal damage in the days leading up to it. I am of course still praying for people down there, for the rescue teams and for the victims. I work in transportation and my region happens to be the Houston and Irving Texas areas so this tragedy is hitting closer to home. Hope there is something I will be able to do to help...we will see?! If you can't fly down to help clean up is there a way to donate to the crews that are down there?
Take care,
Kate
Toledo, OH
Stay safe. Everyone there is in my prayers.
Beth, Way up here in northern maine we are far from the storm but you have all been in our thoughts and prayers and will continue to be. We send our Love and Blessings to all of you.
Praising God that Ike was pulled back a bit. Still praying for the aftermath.
We're safe. We stayed for the storm in NW Houston, but left when we'd been without power for more than a day. We're with my parents a few hours from Houston, waiting for our power to be restored.
So glad you will still be coming to Montana this weekend. Can't wait! Hope to meet some other siestas there!
Sandy
thanks beth for taking the time to give us this update. storms come into our lives in many forms. most of which aren't huricaines but sure can feel like one. so for your ike to my "sure feels like ike" praise Him for being our rock and anchor in our storms.
hugs to y'all. so glad things sound better than they could have been. have a safe trip home when you get the green light.
God bless you and your family, Beth. I'm so glad to hear that you all are okay.
Blessings,
Michelle in CA
Hey Moores & Jones ~ Just wanted to let you know that we are praying you into an oblivion here in PA! We have our 2nd Believing God bible study tonight... and don't know if we will be able to meet because we have no power in that part of our church. We got hit last night with a huge wind storm that sent many-a-tree into our yard. I feel lost since we have no power... I cannot even imagine what you are going through right now! I am praying hard that the LORD will use this to give me a little taste of what you Houstonians are experiencing. Be safe and keep us posted on what we can do for you!
-All my Love
Praise God for the cold front! We stayed in Friendswood and we're slowly getting power back in this area. It was quite an experience but praise God, it could have been worse. The scariest part for me was to see how much I depend on THINGS. I have a whole new appreciation for electricity now!
Yeah!! I am so glad that you are heading to Billings Montana!!! I have been praying for you and what you have to share with those of us here in Billings!
I just wanted to say that this was very good of you to take the time to let us know, as I was wondering how everyone with LPM was making out in Houston.
God Bless,
Nicole
My pastor always says, "Sometimes God calms the storm, and sometimes he calms the child." In any case, praying for his peace, safety and protection over all those affected by Ike, as well as those on their way to help with the cleanup. He is a BIG God and I know He will show up BIG in this situation.
