I No Like Ike
Hi everyone! The LPM blog is going to be on hiatus for a few days while the Moore-Jones clan attempts to travel to the ranch for the weekend. I say "attempts" because I am so nervous about the traffic! My parents were already planning on going and we have decided to join them in view of Hurricane Ike heading this way. FYI, LPM and all our staff are located a safe distance from the coast, but the danger for those of us on this side of town, assuming it hits close to Houston, will be high winds. I think most people are riding it out. Everyone on the Texas coast appreciates your prayers. We love you girls and we'll be back soon!
Love,
Amanda
PS - Bible study went great! We are really excited about our group. Thanks for praying on Tuesday!

I have been thinking about y'all all week. I've been checking the blog constantly for an update. Stay safe, and have fun! From what I saw during the whole Edouard thing, y'all know how to have fun during one of these things.
♥ & prayers,
Andreea
praying the Lord keeps you safe!
hey, you can all come to the mitten state for the weekend and we'll put you all up, dogs and all! the air cool with a crispness in the air, low humidity and not a cloud in the sky. perfect pre-fall weather.
seriously, may you, all and those you know be protected from ike. rest in our loving all knowing all powerful Lord. ~janel
I am praying for you all today as you travel. I pray also that God blesses your time together this weekend. And then continued prayers for all that are in the path of the storm. ((hugs))
Having the Moores and Joneses in Houston, I feel like I have family there! I have thought of you each time they've shown Ike on the tv. We will keep praying for peace and safety for your family, the LPM staff as well as everyone else in path of this storm. As powerful as Ike appears to be, our God is more powerful! May He be with you.
Glad to hear that you are going...was listening to the radio this morning about the hurricane and was worried about you all. Stay safe sweet friends....look forward to hearing back from you later!
Stay safe in the Lord, Ladies. We'll miss you...
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. I live at the beach in South Carolina, and vividly remember weathering Hurricane Hugo with a 4-month old baby (now a college sophomore!) Do evacuate, as we were required to do. We lost our business in that storm, and many friends lost their homes. All can be rebuilt - take the fam photos and your sweet babies and go have fun with your parents! Xoxo
WendyB (who can't find her blogger password amongst the boxes as she's just moved into a new house!)
Stay safe! I may be crazy, but I am actually heading to Texas today. I won't get any further south than Dallas, but my travel home on the weekend could be interesting with all the rain and wind that will inch northward after Ike hits. Praying all will stay safe!
Oh, may Jesus continue to bring peace to all of these storms. There have been so many this season but none of them terribly bad. May He continue to look upon us with favor and protect the areas involved. I'm praying for you all in Texas.
Amanda, Beth and all my Houston Siestas,
I am sending out prayers for y'all. I am also praying for my husband's family who all live in Houston area from League City Pearland and west Houston up to Lake Livingston.
May God put his hedge of protection around all of you and keep you safe.
Namaste,
Mary Ann in Woodbury, MN
Be safe! God's Mighty hand protect all those in Ike's path!
Praying in Arkansas....
Praying for you and others family members in the Houston area!
May God's hedge of protection be around you, all the LPM staff and all in the path of the storm!
Praying for you and your family and all who are down there!
May God bless you and keep you safe!
You will be in my prayers!
Love,
Heather
I saw the size of that thing this morning and immedietely was concerned for you guys. Glad to hear you have a safe place to go, although there's at least a couple hundred of us who would gladly put you up. Our prayers are with you and for your state.
My sister lives down there and is also in the process of evacuating as we speak. Take care - praying for y'all.
Thanks for the update. I have been praying for all of you this morning as I watched Ike updates
Have already been praying for safety for the Moores and Jones and all of the Texas residents who are in the path of Ike.
Let us know when you're all back and accounted for. Already been praying. I even told my husband that I might have to head to Houston if Beth needs help! Take care.
We're praying for the safety of you and all the gulf coast residents who are in the path of Ike.
Be safe!
Praying for all of you!! For safe travel and a fun time. Praying also for all in Texas and Louisiana that once again have to evacuate and also for those that don't evacuate.
Blessings,

Praying in Missouri...
Amanda, Beth and all of Texas,
Praying the Creator's compassion and protection that Ike will not wreak the havoc predicted.
Stay safe and be careful!
Love to all
As a Charleston, SC girl living about 5 miles from the coast, I know what you're going through... never know if you'll be at home or on the road evacuating some storm from June to November!! Anyway, you and your family will be in my prayers.
Praying His protection for you all! Stay safe!
Blessings
Michelle
Praying for your safety and for everyone in the line of Ike. I saw on the internet this morning a photo of a statue in Corpus Christi Bay, of Jesus with His arms outstretched "calming the storm". (don't know if this link will work, but if not maybe you can copy and paste it into your browser to see the photo)

How I pray He will do so once again.
Praying you, and everyone else, will be safe...

Yes, yes, yes! I'm praying for you all. In fact, my hubby and son asked me last nite was I worried about my sister, Beth. To which, I replied, "YES!" But, I'm praying to the Master of the wind and seas, and we can believe God!
***Psalm 91***
may we keep our eyes on the One who calms the storms and not the storm itself. Praying in Georgia...
Keeping all of you in my prayers here in North Carolina.....
We're hunkering down :( KSBJ just played a song that was really encouraging to me:
You are my Shield, my Strength
My Portion, Deliverer
My Shelter, Strong Tower
My very present help in time of need.
Y'all be safe. He IS our strong tower!
Praying for you and that the hurricane will not be as bad as they are predicting. Praying that God will calm the storm!
Have fun on the ranch and will be anxious to hear how you and your staff and the city of Houston wearthered the storm.

Abba Father -
I boldly come before Your throne of behalf of the Moore, Jones, LPM staff, and Texas coast. Lord, please protect them and cover them with your hand from hurricane Ike. In Jesus name. Amen!
Hey, Amanda! I've been thinking about you guys all day. I will be praying as you travel. Be safe!
be safe
love you guys
Will be praying for you all!!! Man I cannot imagine being in the way of a hurricane. Good grief!
In Bible study this morning we has a special time of prayer for protection for all in the path of Ike and especially for the LPM family. I pray for peace and protection. Beth, once I heard you say in "Living Beyond Yourself" I've got to have peace. Now is a good time to hold on the the truth that it is there. Reach out and claim that . We will be praying for your traveling from your home and then a safe journey back on the congested highways.
Judy
I want everyone who is in the path of Ike to know I'm praying for you.
Love and prayers,
Jessica
This is the first time I've actually posted a comment on this blog. I read it on a regular basis though. I was actually just watching the news as they are giving the latest update on hurricane Ike. Knowing that this ministry is in Houston, I thought I would check to see how it would be effecting all of you there. Whenever I hear "Houston" I immediately think "Beth Moore"!!!
Be safe and I will be praying for everyone in the path of the storm.
Praying for your safe travel and praying for the TX coast!
Bless you all
Kelli M
We are praying for you!
In regards to traffic, plan for the worst, expect the best. Having spent the last 13 years in South Florida ( we are now back in Texas), I can tell you the worst part of evacuating is the stress. When I just relaxed, took my time, and knew that I had plenty of food and water for however long it took us to get there, I was much better. I sometimes have the ability to make things much worse than they actually are. I have decided it a "momma" thing, I was never that way before I was a mom. So it is true, the majority of the battle is won in the mind. I will be praying that God gives you peace!

Being that I lived in San Antone for four years as a child, and that the majority of the ministries that minister to me outside of church are there I no like Ike messing (with anyone) with Texas either. May God place a protectivehedge around all who are in the path of this storm. I am also praying he weakens it as Hhe so graciously did for us here in Virginia with Tropical Storm Hannah. Stay warm and cozy,

I've thought about all of you this entire week! Glad your going further away and hoping everything comes out all right. I keep thinking of the song "Higher Ground"..all other land is sinking sand. And yes I know that sounds just awful. =)
Hang in there, ya'll! One thing I remember about Houston was that Houston traffic was always a bear.... I will keep you in prayer... for protection and safety, both on the road and at your destination at the ranch... for courage to face whatever mess that Ike leaves behind... and for a peace that passes all understanding to guard some pretty fearful hearts right now.
Know you are loved! :)
If you decide you need to get further away from the coast, y'all can come to my house!
Started praying for y'all this morning when I heard the forcasts. We love you all to pieces.
Melana & Miesta Moose
Everytime I see the projected path of Ike, I always stop and pray for y'all (which tends to be a lot since I loooove the Weather Channel!). I hope God gives much needed rain and not a lot of damages. Stay safe on the road and have some relaxing family time so y'all can come back and blog about the LIT study!
~Sarah
Will be praying!
I have had you all SO on my heart!
Emmy : )
Been praying, am praying, will pray!! Love you guys.

Be safe. You all have been on my mind this week with Texas being mentioned so much by the weather folks. Praying for your safety and a blessed weekend with you family.
Your are in our prayers,

Thank you for the update because I was wondering if Ike would be in your path.
Drive safely!
Love,

Have a great trip! I am so glad the Bible study went well. We meet for a Wising Up group the night before and it went absolutely awesome! Sounds like it will be a great season of Bible studies.
To all my siestas in Ike's path, I lieft you up in prayer.
i've been watching the progression of Ike and keeping all at Living Proof in my prayers, along with the other citizens of the TX coast who will be affected by this thing. This FL girl certainly understands the whole hurricane deal! Blessings to you all!
I came on the blog this morning to see what you guys were going to do. I will be praying you and all that is yours is kept safe.

So glad you have a safe place to go with your family!

My kids are headed out of Galveston, I am moved with compassion for families that do not have any real options. Let us all lift up those locked in poverty and having no where to go. They live in a whole different reality than ours. Shalom,

Just weathered Gustav in Baton Rouge, LA, and it was nothing to sneeze at! I have been thinking about you all and am so happy to hear that you will be out of harm's way as Ike blows into town. Beth, all of us here so appreciated your thoughts and prayers as Gustav payed us a visit. Please know that we are on our knees for all of you now! Take care and be safe as you travel. May God protect all those involved before, during, AND after this powerful storm passes. With love and many prayers, Suzanne
You all have been in our thoughts and prayers all day....and we will continue to pray until Ike is no longer a threat. Hope you have some great family time at the ranch!
I don't think anyone likes Ike. Stay safe. We're having fun at the fair this weekend. Chloe and I already went with a friend this afternoon for a preview. It should be lots of fun. I hope you guys have fun on the ranch. I have no doubt you will have fun. I read the post from Edouard.
I'm glad to hear you're headin' for the hills! We arrived in College Station on Monday and have decided that we "don't like Ike" either! I was 10 when Hurricane Carla hit--I remember it like it was yesterday.
The people here have been fabulous and extremely helpful. We met a lady in the grocery line this morning that offered to give us our phone number in case we needed anything! Mind you, she had a grocery cart full to feed the 20 members of her family coming from Houston!! That's what I love about this place--always helping each other!
Travel safe and hopefully, your Dad packed the spade to go with the Blue Bell!!
Love y'all, Bobbie
I'm asking the Lord to give you all a wonderful time on that ranch. :) Maybe this is His way of forcing a little rest???? Wait a minute, you have a two year old. On a ranch. Forget that rest part!!
Blessings,
steph.
Yall are in my thoughts and prayers. Safe travels and try not to have too many laughs all together too!!!
Enjoy your Hurricane Party...we'll be praying you get safely out of town and will look forward to your stories next week! Enjoy your time away together and have fun with the pups in the car! Jackson will love that!

Moore & Jones Families --
Be safe, stay dry, and remember we're praying for you. Enjoy this time at the ranch.
Thank you for the update Amanda.
I have been praying for y'all on and off all day - watching the weather channel.
We love you -

Dear Amanda,
Drive safely. I'm staying in Houston. This is my first hurricane, and I'm anxious. I appreciate all the siesta's prayers.
When you grow up in tornado alley, this hurricane thing is different. We'd hear there's a tornado coming, head to the basement for a bit, and it's over.
With hurricanes, it's days of talk, speculation, get ready, be prepared, and then it comes or doesn't. It just drags on and on. It's unnerving.
I feel so for the handicapped, sick and elderly.
I pray that the good Lord keeps us all safe, and Ike loses his energy in the gulf tomorrow before he reaches Galvaston.
Praying for the Texas coastline and inland.
Have safe travels and enjoy some time with the folks.
Hugs and blessings.

Praying for you all from Oklahoma!!!
Love,

Hope all goes well for you. Gustav came our way last weekend. I say that as I now need a new roof, and living room floor, not to mention the brand new water spot on my ceiling in the kitchen. :) Hope you fare better, although it could definitely have been worse. God Bless.
Praying for all of you to stay safe during this.
Love

I will be praying for all of you. I live in NE Louisiana and we were hit hard from Gustav with flooding and don't need any more rain. Have a great time just being together.
Transformed by His Power,

Glad to hear that you all are heading out of there. I pray the traffic isn't too bad.
Take good care.

Praying for you all, safety, protection, and a sense of God's Sovereign hand. I have memories of 9/11 today, as we all think back to 7 years ago...my daughter was in Washington DC, she was a brand new 16 year old Page in the basement of the Capitol, and was told to get out of the building. When she went out, she saw the smoke from the Pentagon... a dreadful sight I think back and can only say, Thank you O Lord for your Sovereign hand. take care...pam in san diego
Hi. I am new to this blog thing so I'm not sure I'm doing this right :(. I just have a word translation guestions. I am a small group leader in at my church and we are the "A heart like his" study. Last week we read the section in 1 Samual 15 where God said he "grieved" or "regret" having made Saul king over his people. There was questions on how could God have regret? I tried looking up the word in my Strong's dictionary of Bible words but I'm not finding a word that fits. Can someone please help me find the Hebrew word and definition. I'm sure the original language will be very helpful in answering the question. Thanks so much
Praying for all who may be in harm's way. All of our LPM and Moore/Jones buddies are in our prayers. Be safe in God's shelter and protection.
Oh please, please be safe, especially with little fig! God bless and safe travel.
Prayers,

praying for your safety and all my other friends in Houston area.
I will be praying for ya'll in Texas and also our brothers and sisters south of the border. They do not have the resources we have here in the us. They certainly expect this to be a bad storm. My brother works for ATT in STL and they sent a crew of 30 men with generators and other equipment yesterday to a staging area in Houston.
Don't forget your snake boots if you are headed to the ranch.
May the Lord put a hedge of protection around your family and loved ones....
Whew! I have been checking this blog for several days hoping to find a blog telling us you guys were getting out of town!
Be safe our prayers are with all in it's path! Wow what a mighty GOD!
From a former Louisiana dweller...praying for ya'll.
Journeying mercies for all of you.

You're the first people I thought of when they said Ike was headed toward Houston! Praying for the Ike to weaken and for all to stay safe!
I am taking a group of 18 ladies to Gatlinburg to do the Loving Well retreat this weekend. We will be on our knees lifting y'all up to our Precious Lord Jesus! We will also pray for those who have chosen to stay behind. May God surround them with His Angels! We love you all!
My prayers are with you and your state. Stay safe.
Thinking of the whole city, I was there in 2001 at the Global conference and it was late September and my dear it was hot and humid. I Remember a hurricane had landed there in 2001 about a month before we had the conference. Wondered how the people did it who lived there all the time.
Just wanted to let you know you are in the thoughts of the canadians as well.
Iris
You all are in our prayers.
Praying for you & all the LPM staff & families...
Praying for y'all and whoever might be affected by this hurricane. We just had Gustav last week and I know what an evacuation feels like...very tiring. I'm glad y'all are getting out. Stay safe.
Libby in New Orleans
P.S. We're already getting some of the feeder bands from Ike and they've closed my daughter's school because of high wind and possible tornados and we are several hundreds of miles from y'all. I pray everyone headed the evacuation orders for Texas.
It's Fri. 9:12 AM California time and I'm watching live footage on CNN of the TX shoreline. My prayers are with everyone on Ike's path, the shoreline and beyond. God's protection be on all.
I've been praying for y'all. Glad to hear that you're all getting somewhere safely!
Praying for all of you in Ike's path... (and for the animals too - I always worry about the helpless animals out there)!
ps.... Is it just me, or does anyone else think that Andreea (comment 1) and Mel (comment 3) look a little bit alike?
Keeping you all in my prayers during this storm!
Y'all just be careful and hunker down. We'll be praying for you, as well as everyone else in Ike's path.
Praying for your safety we just went through a threat of hurricane w/ hanna I am located in Wilmington NC
Joining the prayer for the mercy of the Lord to be with those in the path of the storm. Also praying that God will allow your time away from Houston to encourage you as a family and to meet needs as only He can.
Susan
I know y'all aren't there to read our comments, but I still want to say that I'm praying for all of you in the path of Ike and I hope you all got safely to the ranch. Let's us know when you're back home safely!
Love and prayers,
Missy
I'm watching CNN Live viewing the Galvastan coast and am frightened and worried for the people who decide to stay! One mother with her two little girls is staying "to protect her house!" What's wrong with her. I just want to cry for her little girls. I'm praying she'll change her mind for her girls sake.
You don't have to print this. I'm just wanting to vent after seeing that mom with her two girls. Lord, help them!!
I have no idea if you have capabilities or even care to moderate comments, but I want you guys to know I'm praying for all of the LPM staff and for your houses and property.
Most of all, praying that GOD be with all of those right in Ike's path.
Father please spare lives.
Praying,
Teri
Our prayers are with you and all your fellow coastal Texans as you head out. May God be your protection - not just over life and limb, but over all your "stuff". Stay safe and dry!
We will be praying for all of you closer to the coast. Be careful down there.
We'll be helping the evacuee's here in DFW too!

Praying for you here in NC...
Father, I thank You that nothing is impossible for You. I thank You that one look from You at this enormous storm will cause it to disappear. We are amazed at Your power, Lord! You are so far beyond even our greatest thoughts of You! You are so worthy of all praise, all glory, and all honor - how we praise You, Lord! We come humbly, Lord, asking in Your Mighty Name that You would still this storm. And if that is not Your will, then I ask that You be with those that maybe don't have someone to go through this with. I ask that during this time, Lord, that You would put the lonely in families for safety and comfort. I pray that You would give the Gulf Coast residents a hunger and thirst to know the One who created wind and rain. May this storm cause many to turn to You and be saved as they view Your matchless power. And Lord, we especially ask that You would keep our Living Proof family perfectly safe and sound, and that You in Your mercy would spare their property also. We pray that Your name would be high and lifted up all over the Gulf Coast, Lord. Be glorified!
In the Mighty Name of Jesus, Amen
Blessings to you all from your sister Gretchen in Thousand Oaks, CA.
Hi Beth!
First of all, I pray your family and all in the Houston area are safe. I used to live in Florida and know well the threat of on-coming storms!
But the real reason I'm writing is because I just want to tell you what an inspiration you have been to me. I don't even know how much you read your comments, but I was thrilled to discover you had a blog and that there was a remote chance for me to communicate directly with you.
Call me a late-comer, but for some strange reason, I had never done a Beth Moore study until June when our church did "Believing God." I've read many of your books (which I loved), but I just never did a video-driven study, and, therefore, had never seen you actually teach.
I just want to tell you, that not only did that study absolutely impact my life for all eternity, but you--as a woman, a teacher, and a minister of the Gospel--have sparked something in me I cannot quite describe. I found myself watching you in those videos, identifying with you on so many levels, and saying to myself, "I'm going to do that some day...reach people like that and stir up in them a passion for the Word of God."
After the first study, I was walking out saying to the other women, "Isn't she AWESOME?" and they were looking at me like, "Have you been living in a box?"
I don't know quite how to express it, but I saw your relationship with God...the depth, the passion, the zeal...and I knew it was a place to which God had been drawing me for years. He's been preparing me for something great (for Him, not me). I've known that for a long time. You embody a walk with the Lord that previously I had only conceptualized in my mind. I now believe what I've been craving from God can actually happen to me, because I've seen it displayed in you.
I know you are greatly respected all over the world, and part of me feels silly for even telling you all of this. But I just know how much it encourages me when people share how God has used me in their lives, and so I thought I'd do the same for you.
Thank you for being true to yourself and who God created you to be, and for wholly and purely devoting your life to spread a love for God's word.
Sincerely and with much love,
Sandy Cooper

I will be praying for all of you siestas along the coast in Texas. Hope you enjoy your family time at the ranch. Love ya'll. robin
Amanda and Beth we are praying for the Moore's and the Jones's and all of Texas coast. Our group just finished The "Patriarchs" and I am reminded how God is "Hashim" and He is The Name and He calls each of us by name. So as we call out your names to the True Hashim He knows exactly who we are praying for and inclines His ear to hear our prayer. May God be the barrier to the winds and water through Ike. Please remember those in Brazoria and Freeport Texas they are right in the path of the water.Lord set the water boundaries and call them back. In Jesus name I pray.
Praying for all of you siestas in the Houston area and beyond as Ike is close to landfall!! We know we have a God who can hold the oceans in the palm of His hand! Praying you are all kept safe!!
Blessings,
JC
I am in Beaumont, Texas waiting out Ike at the courthouse. I plan on sleeping thru it when it gets really heavy around here. Pray for me and all of my co-workers, I am now living with. Three years ago, when Rita hit, most of my co-workers had a very sleepless night. I prayed to God ""peace be still". And the storm went from a category 5 to a category 3. I slept thru the whole thing and never knew we took a direct hit.
Glad to hear you all are headed to higher ground. We will continue to pray for you, as well as all those in the path of Ike.
Love,
Anna
We're praying for all of you here in Nevada....God Bless and watch over you and your loves ones.
Hugs~April <><
I have been thinking and praying for everyone in Ike's path. I pray people will stay safe and that there will be minimal damage.
We will keep you in our prayers along with all the people effected by this hurricane.

Looks like Ike is heading towards Houston. You all are in my prayers. Please stay safe. We love you and pray that God puts a hedge of protection around all you Moores and LPM family.
PRAYING for everyone in Ike's path!!!!
I remember "SOMEONE" saying that God may not always calm the storm, but He will calm the child in the storm. I pray the Prince of Peace will calm all your fears and give you peace, and maybe even some laughter! I'm prayin' for all in the path of Ike.
Knowing your in His very capable hands. I praise the God of all creation for you and your family.
We Raleigh girls are praying for LPM in Houston and everyone in Ike's path. Make memories with the family at the ranch and may the Lord watch over and protect you~Linda
I have been praying for you all and the people of your great state.

This is my second comment, a day later. Girlfriends in Texas...I can't stop thinking of you! I'm writing this JUST as the eye of the hurricane is hitting. I'm comforted that the Moore family vacated Houston, and will continue lifting up all of my Siestas in Texas.

I'm praying for y'all!!
“The Lord is good, a stronghold on a day of trouble; he protects those who take
refuge in him, even in a rushing flood.” Nahum 1:7-8a
Praying for you!
It's Saturday now and Ike has arrived in your area. Know that I am praying for you and all of the Houston, TX area. What is amazing is that this storm is nothing compared to the great and mighty power of the MOST HIGH! WOW! It just shows us how Strong our God is!
Stay safe -

B'ham., AL - Praying for you and your family and ALL people affected by Ike. I no like him either!!!
Amanda, thank you for saying you were "so nervous" about the traffic. I needed to hear that because when I get "nervous" about something I equate that with not having enough faith. I do pray and turn it over to God and sometimes I feel perfect peace and other times I don't. I claim the peace anyway, whether or not I feel it because HE promises it. (Phil. 4:6-7)
Any other thoughts or comments regarding???
I am praying for you!!!
Love the Moore's, even though I haven't met you personally only through your studies and blog. I feel like I know you.
I am sure you will enjoy this family time while Ike strikes you will be parting with some chips and salsa.

Many thoughts and prayers to everyone at LPM and the Moores/Jones....I pray that your homes and businesses were spared and that God will shine bright on Houston as she recovers.
checking on y'all, looking for a word to hear if you're ok? praying.
Keith , Beth, Curtis and Amanda and Jackson and all of my Sista's in Texas, I've been watching the weather channel. I saw how bad Houston got hit. I've been crying asking the Lord to protect ya'll. I've never meet ya'll but with Christ and God being our Father we are truly family. I also have relatives that live out in Giddenings Texas. We got tropical storm winds and never lost power near New Orleans. I prayed and asked the Lord and pleaded the blood over all of you not to get hit real bad and loose property. As soon as you are able please give us an update and let us know how ya'll are doing. Hugs to all of you!
Your Sister in Christ
Love ya'll

Oh Good! I am glad you are going with your parents! That is a blessing too that the office is in a safer location! I have been praying for you all this weekend- I was praying that you went inland and that you were protected. My church had a women's retreat this weekend too. So, half the time, I was trying to focus on the speaker, and half the time thinking about my older sis in Fort Worth and you all. God did show me soo much of Himself this weekend through talking to a group of Sisters. God is really out to complete what He has started in us!:) I've starting posting too much again:) I'm going to go call my sis now in Fort Worth:) Love you all:)

I woke up in the middle of the night last night praying for all those who were in the path of the hurricane and your family. I hope all is safe with you.
From Sunny California!
As I type this, I am watching the Weather Channel and seeing pictures of Beaumont, Galveston and others. Frightening! Tornado warnings in surrounding states. Flooding in Lousiana. Praise God He is in control because this sure feels out of control!
So glad so many are praying for safety for your amazing family! I join in agreement with all the gals who wrote they are praying for everyone in Ike's path.
I am in Michigan and we are having tons of rain and some tornados they say are from moisture coming up from Ike. Chicago is also getting tons of rain. As others have mentioned this is a strong storm yet our God is SOOOOOOOOOO much bigger and all powerful.
Praying your time together is safe, fun and restful.
I have never commented before but want to thank you, Beth, for your books, your wisdom, your honesty and your passion for the Lord. You are a very gifted teacher. I will do my best to get to one of your conferences. I feel I am missing out!
Thank you also to your family for sharing you and to your staff for supporting you.
May God bless and keep everyone safe from this storm.
Kathy
It's Saturday and Ike has definitely landed - but God is definitely in control.
We are praying for you and all of those in the affected area in the coming days.
We no like Ike either! My husband works on cellular towers. So when the hurricane winds blow, he travels from Arkansas to wherever to get those phones back on the air. He will be leaving Sunday after church. Stay safe! We know the damage high winds can do.
Love and Peace,

I am so sorry that the state of Texas( or any state )is having to go through Ike. Several years ago our community took a direct hit from hurricane Charlie. We were without elec. for 2 weeks...it was hard, real hard.During the midst of the storm our community came together like no other time that I had ever seen.People from all over the U.S. came to pitch in and help they did...they were a Godsend.I know in the days, weeks and months ahead that Texas and the U.S. will rise to the occasion. Neighbors will help neighbors... they will help complete strangers. People will put aside difference for the common good. Love will show up and work in ways that will take your breath away.Lives will be changed. I pray that the God of all comfort will be with you and your love ones during this difficult time. LPM...If there is ANYTHING that we can do (relief fund,etc.).please let your siestas know.
Love you guys.

I am here in Jacksonville, FL and have just seen some of the pictures in Houston. I am praying that all of you are safe. I know that things got scary there for a while, just try to let us all know that all of you are ok. Thanks! Lifting all of you up right now!
Been Keeping you all in prayer!!! Let us know how you all are doing. Praying you are hid under His Wings. In Jesus' Love Kathy Knoblock
You all have been in our hearts and prayers here Siestas and Brothers. I have been in the midst of Breaking Free and all day the words I recently read have been coming to me regarding Ike. Your words ,from page 48, Beth are as follows, "Christ does not always immediately calm the storm, but He is always willing to calm His child on the basis of His presence. 'Don't worry! I know the winds are raging and the waves are high, but I am God over both. If I let them continue to swell, it's because I want you to see Me walk on the water.' We'll probably never learn to enjoy our storms, but we can learn to enjoy God's presence in the storm!" Praise God though we pass through the waters He is with us! Thank you for being a vessel God uses to write His word on my heart. Many blessings in this storm. Melinda and family.
Great to hear that you and the family are in a safe area. I have been praying for your family and the LPM staff.
Y'all have been on my heart and in my prayers. I ditto the lady who said we feel like there is family out there. Since the news came your whole family has been on my mind. I was sure with the wisdom God has given you that you would know God's leading and that He would keep all of you safe. It is however, and I thank you so much for keeping us too on your hearts,a great relief that you blogged us. Please be safe and know that the "family" has you covered in prayer.
Blessin's

We are praying for you all, love all of you at LPM!
Joining my faith with all of these women of prayer for the safety of the Moore family and the families at LPM during this storm and afterward. God is your protective shield. Where do I look for help? My help is in You Lord. The sun will not hurt you by day nor the moon by night.

Prayering over all of you, we love everyone of you at LMP and your families.
i have been checking to see if there was any news - so I will take that there are now posted comments as good news! Will continue to pray and so glad that you are safe.
Will LPM be doing any fundraising to minister to all the needs in Galveston/Houston? What an opportuniy to minister as you are right in the middle of such massive need. "For such a time as this..." I'm sure all your siesta sisters will be willing to do everything possible!
