If you could invite anyone (living or not) to a fantasy dinner party, who would you want there?

Well, I sorta like the picture of Jackson sleeping, but since we've been on a food and moving theme the last few entries....

What did you make for dinner last night?

And tell us what you love about your new home. I know you miss your old door :(

And something I was thinking of yesterday is....I bet you miss the "TODS" moms in Dallas. Are you adjusting ok?

And can you give us any hints about what's in the works for the Siesta Fiesta?

Food for thought from Melana in Wyoming

Oh you are so funny....

Ok, how about a poll of What we each wish Beth's next Bible Study would be?

or something on....How do you make summer's special...ranging for singles, families, working mom's not working mom's....

Or who most would you like to meet and what would you say?

Or what has God been saying lately?

Personally, I am in a lot of transtion, change, and a real dry spell. I keep thinking I am doing something wrong. Personal time with God in the am is non-existant, (but I am doing my evening bible study homwork.) So I would love a topic on how to get out of a slump..... and why do we have them.

Anything around adoption...and who has a heart for this area....

Personal retreats...do any of the ladies take personal retreats, annaully, where, what do they do....

Favorite current Christian cd?

Funny & Cute all in the same breath! AJ... You are so gifted. Blogger Block... Hey Twinkle tagged you for a MEME it might be fun to encourage women here to post the 6 unimportant things about themselves.

I wrote about the national anthem and the national day of prayer. A long story better told on my blog. The post stemmed from a post last week about Jehovah Nissi and just grew from there. I do not... and will repeat, do not write about a lot of what I find in the news because it upsets me so bad! I would be all kinds of guilty of all kinds of offenses if I did. So... that said, tried any new recipes you just loved?

P. S. I don't quiet thing I have learned the art of understatement... sorry!

Sorry Amanda but pictures of Jackson are my favorite kinda blog! What could be cuter than that sleeping angel?

Gotta say, though, have you noticed how long that baby's legs are getting?? Why is he growing up so fast?! What a little doll! It's no wonder his Bibby is nuts about him.

Has Jackson handled the move well? I know he loves getting to see his grandparents more often but does he miss his little friends from Tyler? Hope you've found him some buddies his age in Houston already.

Love to all!

How about the beauty of the season. I am reminded of how God pays attention to detail and how he is truly an artist. Everytime I walk outside and smell the sweet aroma in the air of spring flowers, hear the birds, and see the beautiful crisp blue sky that he has created, I am truly amazed.

Do another survey of the bloggers.
Ask us if anyone has led anyone to Christ lately.
Or ask if we have ideas about reaching the LOST.
Or what does our church do to reach Lost people.

I say bring on the pics of a snoozin goo! =) Hm, just realized that perhaps not everyone calls their preschooler "Goo," and I might have come off as a little strange there. =)

Something that's on my mind now is the fun ways that God speaks to us. I spent three hours last night digging into 2 Kings chapter 2 in my homework for a Precepts course I'm taking, and while it was wonderful, I received no life-changing messages or anything. But then this afternoon when I was watching a Disney movie, God spoke to me so strongly through it, I hit my knees in tears. Looking back on it now, it makes me giggle, thinking about how cool He is with how He communicates to us!

Pictures of the little man are always good, pictures and info on the new LPM offices, how your move is going, how your hubby is liking being surrounded by women. Any Godly wisdom is always appreciated. Also, any good info on the upcoming Deeper Still Event in Atlanta would be great because it is only 2 months away, and I can't wait.

Hi Amanda, I'm not sure whether or not you'll receive this... so... here goes.
First, as women, we love random pictures of our own kids, other's people's kids and funny pet pic's.
Second, you're not having a block - I believe it's an opportunity to just listen and/or respond to others around you - especially the shy ones who need it to be "still" before they decide to venture forward. Finally, take this moment to rest - God may be preparing you for a whole lot of outpouring soon :) God Bless You, Amanda.

Personally I love the pictures of the little man.

I loved Curt's blog. Girl he is funny.

Other ideas: I want to know more about the Living Proof staff and how ya'll encourage one another. I love stories of people who have walked through tough times and survived. I also like simple stuff like shouldn't we make fajita's the official Siesta food or should it be brownies??

And what a cutie that Jackson is! And wow, it looks like he's grown since the last picture you showed us! I know you hear this all the time, but every time I see a pic of Curtis, I think of Jackson...they look so much alike. :)
Hmmm....ideas for the blog. Well, my brain is frozen right now. There's only one thing on my mind. After talking extensively with a guy from eHarmony and sharing many, many photos, I have a very cute and sweet guy from Alabama coming to visit me this weekend here in SC! He's staying in a nearby hotel and we have a few things planned for the weekend and he'll be going to church with me on Sunday. I'm about to jump out of my skin! And I'm also trying to stay calm and breathe and tell myself that whatever God has planned for us (whether it's friendship or more), it is His perfect and best plan. But ohhhhh how I would love for him to be "the one"! He's 39 and I'm 40 and neither one of us has ever been married!
Thanks for letting me spill all of that out...I was about to burst! Heehee.
I'll let y'all know how it goes! :)
Say a prayer for us!

Talk about a Curtis Jr....He sure looks like his Daddy. I always enjoy pictures, but then I am a Grandmother and those grandchildren are just darlin'. My "Bible Bunny" group is studying "Stepping Up" and WOW Wow Wow is it just in time for some of the bunnies in my group. (I explained the Bible Bunny terminology in a much earlier comment weeks ago.) This study is so reaching the ladies in this group, each one in a different way and yet touching us all. Beth's studies are so wonderful that way. You never know just how it will touch each person doing the study. Thank you all for your devotion to learnin' us all.
Happy sleeping Jackson.....

How about ideas for instilling God's word in your children (not to mention yourself?)

I just heard one last night. Try going through Proverbs and listing all the characteristics of a fool and a wise person. Then list all the Do's and Don't. And all the things that result in blessing/honor and those that result in death/destruction.

I'd love to hear some of the things the Moore girls did growing up that encouraged your deep love for Christ.

I know about bloggers block - I have suggesters block...you know, where you want to have something really cool to say so that the other Siestas will say "Ahh, that is a good idea!" Then I could gain noteriety as a an awesome suggestion giver and bloggers from around the world will write to me for suggestions on what THEY should blog about and when I'm being interviewed about my suggestion giving skills I can give the glory to God and LPM for giving me my start. That would be cool, but I can't think of anything right now...sorry. Maybe tomorrow...

One idea pops to mind: our small group is just finishing up reading through and discussing "Justice in the Burbs: Being the Hands of Jesus Wherever You Live" by Will and Lisa Samson. I bet many of us siestas do live in the suburbs... maybe y'all have some cool ideas of what you've done to reach out in your community? The focus is on self-less living, having true servant hearts, and being willing to get 'dirty' and out of our comfort zones.

BTW, Amanda, we've missed you on here! I'm sure you've been awful busy setting up your new home, etc. Transitions can be tough - even when they seem mostly positive. I remember my little brother used to cry when my mom got a new haircut! ;-)

Amanda,

I don't know how many of my entries you have read up to this point. But I think you have probably guessed, I am far too pensive right out of the shoot.

That was especially evident with your mom's last entry. I laughed, but I wrestled with taking it seriously as well. I so wish I could just get over myself! :)

As I read your entry, the thing that came to my mind was, "no pressure". This blog thing is organic, spontaneous, and on your site, Spirit lead. Trusting that helps me not make this blog an idol in my life. Having direct connections to women who love Jesus with a passion from all over the world distracted me initially.

I don't know if any of this makes sense. I don't know if I really am so far off the deep end, I make lunacy seem plausible in my own mind. Something I just put before you with an immense check of humility and trust that if I am way off we can all laugh together.

Blessings as you continue to serve so beautifully. Your Jackson is precious!!!

How about a commentary on your all time favorite Christian fiction book - why you love it so much and what it's taught you. I'd also like to hear your (and Beth's)thoughts on the emergent church movement. I AM NOT TRYING TO STIR UP CONTROVERSY. I'd just like to know what they believe and practice. I've done some searching and what I've found is really vague. And the one-on-one contact I've had in my own hometown left me wondering if they were representative of the emerging church at large.

Let's see..
Here's a few ideas just to get you started:
*Interior walk-thru of the new LPM digs
*Some bio's on the LPM staff, plus pics!
*How does one literally go about "putting on the armor"? I actually know this, but a prayer with scripture would be great!
*For those of us who have done Believing God, what have you asked God to sanctify? How did it go?
*How can all of us "siestas" get matching t-shirts? I have to know just who I'm talking to when I see them, otherwise, I might go hug some perfect strangers neck and scare them to death!
*How did your mother instill a love of scripture in you? I have three girls-we have our verses-I just want to be deliberate!
*What are some recent "God-stops" that you have had?
*What's your favorite flower? Why?
*How do you all work together and still be family? Do you all go to the same church too? I just wondered if you all got along that well all the time- cause I'm really impressed with anyone who can work for their mother-in-law and still be okay with that!
*How do you manage to not talk "business" every time you get together? Just wondered-

Okay, that's enough to probably way more than you wanted, but...
you did ask!
I love you friend!

I like Sandee's idea about polling on the next Bible study!... along those lines... how about:

The Siestas Bible Study [insert a much wittier title here!!], penned by our very own Amanda Jones?

I would venture to say it could be based on passages from Proverbs (let's forego Lamentations hehe), with a snippet or two of either a) personal wisdom from a siesta, or b) a truly unique experience that attests the veracity of a certain passage of Proverbs. This, sprinkled with laughter, an equal dose tears of reflection, all topped off by the utter joy to be Sisters in Christ! So, whaddayathink?? eh? eh?..... erm... uh... OK, Maria Cristina, time for bed... I don't think I'm making much sense here! but there you have it!

I love you Amanda and I love each and every one of you Siestas!

Well I just adore the picture of Jackson sleeping. Of course any child sleeping is precious ;)

I would love to know about plans for the Siesta Fiesta. I am so looking forward to and excited about the weekend.

Favorite childhood book? I recently found the book, Monster at the end of this book (sesame street book with Grover). I loved it as a child and love even more reading it to my kids now.

Amanda,

Jackson is getting so tall. I can't believe you get him to sleep in his pack-n-play still. My son (will be three in June) hasn't been in his since he was just a little over a year. He absolutely was NOT going to let me put him in it...he is very headstrong...must be from his daddy's side (couldn't be from my side, ha ha).

Looks like you have had some great ideas. I bet you are brain storming....

Can't wait for your next blog...how about what you like to cook (if you like to cook, that is).

Let's share uplifting ways we cope with the "daily grind".. They can be practical- like taking a walk, biblical- like scripture cards, or funny like going to ice cream with your kids in your Pj's...

We can share what the source of the stress is, and what we do to cope with it.

I'll take any tips the siestas have!

For our Siesta Sandee who mentioned that she was going through a dry spell -- you want to know what the Lord is teaching me about my "dry spells?" He is showing me that the dry spells are opportunity for the faith and trust I keeping asking Him for to be lived out in my life! How am I going to have strong faith or trust in Him if I don't have to have faith or trust in my immediate circumstances. Anyway, hope that encourages you.

And Amanda, how about talking about all that the Lord is teaching you through this new season in your life? Where is He asking you to trust Him?

Much Love and blessings to you all,

Manda,

The surveys are great ways for all of the siestas to either post anonymously or not what they may be struggling with and need prayer for without fear of being judged or condemned.

Not that the Siesta's do that, but it seems to bring out people who just read the blog and never post.

It could help us pray more effectively.

All the ideas are great!

Jackson is growing too fast. He looks like he's in preschool in that picture!

Everyone could share one or two things they pray for in regards to their relationship with the Lord. For instance, my dear hubby preached last Sunday that we should pray and ask God for a hunger for His Word.

I've never had a father so I frequently pray that God will help me know what it feels like to be His little girl. This helps me see Him as my father not just my God.

URGENT PRAYER REQUEST

Please pray for a young lady who is twenty-one years old. Her whole world changed just a few short weeks ago when she announced in Sunday School she got engaged the evening before. They set the wedding for July 19, 2008.

She scheduled her first gynecology appointment with her doctor for last Tuesday. She was planning on starting "the pill". Upon the initial exam, the practioner felt a cyst. Immediately an ultrasound was ordered. This past Friday she met with a gynecologist and found out she does have two cysts: one on each overy. One measures 17 cm x 11 cm and the other is 11 cm x 9 cm. I hope I have the measurements correct. The doctor scheduled surgery for today (Tuesday) at noon.

Yesterday, the doctor contacted this precious Christian young lady to explain he had thought about her all weekend because some of her blood work was elevated. He canceled today's surgery. Instead, she had to go to the hospital for more blood work today and is seeing an oncologist gynecologist tomorrow morning at 9:00 AM.

Her whole world has truly been turned upside down. Please pray for a miracle in this sweethearts' life. I know God hears our prayers. She knows too. Thank you for lifting her up to the Lord.

BTW, have you found your Aggie Ring? I'm still praying!

I like "r's" suggestion of "who would you invite to a dinner party". I asked that at one of our CBS luncheons and got some wonderful answers. That led to a discussion of the book "Dinner with a Perfect Stranger".

Actually, I could use some advice from you and my fellow Siestas, as well. Over a year ago, I bought tickets to the LPL event taking place in Louisville Aug 1&2. Well, I am now pregnant with my first child. He is expected to arrive June 26th. So he would be about 4 weeks old at the time of the event if he comes when expected. Should I take him with me (I live in Indy about 2hours away), get tickets to the local simulcast or just forget the whole thing? I would love to go and take him with me. I could really use a conference right now, but I'm not sure I can do it with the little guy. What do you think? Thanks.

Hey, Amanda.

Thanks for the sweet photo of Jackson. My son, Devin, is 2 ½ and so I feel like we’re running parallel lives. We started potty training this week. Yikes!

My blog suggestion for your prayerful consideration is to address The Church of Oprah…the cult that is swaying millions across the globe to believe in anything, but Jesus. See the below You Tube clip to learn more.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=JW4LLwkgmqA

I’m so very disturbed…Oprah is saying she is Christian and pointing people to false teaching. So much deception. Christians not rooted in their faith are being swayed….the lost are drinking the Kool-Aid, so to speak…oh, how the scriptures predicted this would happen. (See 2 Thess 2 for starters)

Please join me in fervent prayer that someone influential in Oprah’s life, who is a devoted and mature Christian STEP UP...and point out the truth to her! (Dr. Phil? Maya Angelo? Someone in her family? – PLEASE HELP!)

Let’s pray that the evil influences attacking Oprah would be resisted and she would have ears and heart open to receiving the truth.

Let’s pray that she would realize her deadly errors and she would repent. Since we’re going for miracles…let’s pray she also publicly apologize and point people to Jesus.

Would love to know from a much more public Christian perspective if the church is addressing this issue? Is Beth in discussion with other Christian, public figures to do something?

As a women’s ministry leader, a portion of my prayer petition email was the following…
===============================
"Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground." (Ephesians 6:13)

Pray HARD.

Tell everyone about Jesus.

P.S. Got your breastplate, belt, feet, shield, helmet, sword, communication system ready? If not, no worries...load up on Ephesians 6:14-18

Helpful Reminder-----Be at peace------GOD ALREADY WON THE WAR!!! Praise you, LORD!!

===============================

Thank you Amanda for your devotion to the blog. Any insight on this cultural influence from Oprah is greatly appreciated.

Until ALL Have Heard,

Susan

Love the pic of the baby sleeping, but here's a couple questions. (Coming from a single gal): can you describe the peace and satisfaction and affirmation of knowing your husband is the one God ordained for you? (i.e., I'm assuming he was worth the wait!?) ; p

Then, which biblical character would you most like to meet and why?

Next, in ministry to women, have you ever felt like there was no way you could relate to their pain because you hadn't come from an abusive home environment/bad "past", etc? Sometimes I struggle with that.

Thanks!

Love and hugs from the Big D!!!

i just wanted to say how nice it is to read 'Ya'll'. Way out here in Idaho you don't hear that much. My husband is TDY in Alabama and when I call they put you on hold and play a local radio station. I AM LOVING HEARING THAT SOUTHERN DRAWL WHILE I AM ON HOLD!!!! I think God is giving me a big list of small things to be thankful for lately, like simply hearing (or reading) 'Ya'll'. Maybe missing the southern sound is another reason I am craving me a Beth Moore study next semester at our Bible Study here on base. Sleeping children are so incomparably adorable! As a parent I can honestly say that there have been days when I have thought that my children were definetly cuter when they were sleeping than when they were awake. I hope that God might feel the same way about his children, about me. When we are awake we can be so rebelious, tiring, disobedient(not all the time of course)but when we sleep he can look down and adore us. And his mercies are new every morning! Thank you Jesus!

Amanda; I too love to see all the pictures you all post. And would love to see more. Most of the ideas I could think of are already posted.

I do have one or two other ideas. I am in a transition of sorts. My older children are at the age where they are going off to college. The oldest is 18, next is my 17yr old. I do have two more at home as well, 16 and 10. Well, I am not sure how much I should keep my mouth shut and how much to say. I am struggling with still being the mom but not wanting to be what they call a helicopter parent. (I am not at the empty nest stage, but changes are certainly in the very near future.) For that matter anything concerning parenting older teens that are almost adults would be great.

What about house cleaning ideas or organizing ideas. Just a thought.

I'm likin' the ideas of discussion on "The Shack" book and sharing our favorite Beth-isms. One of my faves is "someone's gonna get a heavenly spanking...!" I am so excited about Colorado Springs this weekend...let Miss Beth know I have been praying for her as she prepares and am looking forward to "some gurrrl time"!

I don't think there is anything wrong with random pictures of cute kids. In fact, I think you should include them more!

I think my favorite posts are of the three of you girls just being real with what is going on in your life. I can almost always relate or benefit from those, and that way it feels like I have an actual relationship with someone instead of the computer screen!

I am a siesta in SERIOUS need of some prayer. My 15 year old daughter tragically passed away last night. We are comforted knowing that her last breath on earth was her first with Jesus, but ooooooooh the pain! We have been surrounded by our community, our shcool system and our church (FBC Whitewright, TX). There are no words... Just some serious siesta prayers! Probably not the topic you were looking for but please help...

Hi Amanda!
I love all the comments so far...but my favorite (that I totally relate to right now) is how to get out of a slump! Nothing is majorly wrong...but this nagging feeling that God is far away...lots of transitions and wondering how to get out of that slump!

Other than that...the photos of the kiddos are always appreciated! How about favorite makeup...new lipsticks...things people have tried and loved! Thnigs that remind us we are women too and not just frumpy moms! I always love to hear from the other siestas! Since we've moved coming to the blog makes me feel like my friends are close by...maybe some good old fashioned girl time!

Just my two cents!
With love,
Donna (the mom of twin boys)

Amanda,

I think it would be fun to do an anonymous (if needed) post response on what all the siesta's professions are. Whether they work at home (domestic engineer) or outside of the home. It would be really interesting to see the diversity. Okay, now I have got myself in love with the idea. I always love to see the diversity in the body of Christ, even in my small Sunday School class.

Hi Amanda,

I can hardly believe that you would have "bloggers block"... But, seeing pictures of Jackson is fun!

How about each of Y'all telling about your, your Mom's, and Melissa's and Curtis' routine when it comes to spending "Quiet time with the Lord"?

And, do you or your Mom, etc. have any ideas on how to cope with overcoming the loss of a dear father? My family and I had to give my dear Daddy to Jesus on March 24, 2008. I'm sure that other sisters would find this information very helpful, as well.

I've read the comments posted thus far and found the blog topics to be fun and thought provoking. If I could invite anyone to dinner it would be Corrie ten Boom. What a a testimony of faith. I would love to set at her feet and listen as she reminiced of God's hand in her life.

I think the official Siesta food should definitely be brownies or maybe fajitas no brownies. Ummmmm not sure.

Someone suggested sharing our prayers requests and praises. These are a couple requests for you to consider:

Kimberly Grace, a beautiful kindergartner in my Sunday School class, lost her mommy today from a drug overdose. Will you join me in prayer for her?

Thursday morning I will board a plane with a team from my church headed to Rio de Janario, Brazil. We will work in Rio for a few days and then fly north to Palmas. The fields are white and ready for harvest. Our prayer is for many to come to Christ. All praise to God for what He is going to do. Siestas will you pray for us? We will be away from home for 10 days.

Another Siesta mentioned gas prices. The ever-higher gas, food, home prices etc. have been unsettleing for me. It is a little scary. One thing I've tried to remember is when everything seems out of control, God is still on His throne and He is in control.

This verse has helped me alot:

"You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you."
Isaiah 26:3

Hugs to all,
Mary

Hey Amanda: On Saturday, our ladies group did a retreat with Beth's video "A day with Beth" from the Women of Faith Intensive a few years back. It was on biblical happiness and really resonated with us.

One of my favorite parts was towards the end and Beth's energy was really high and she started reading and then quoting some of the verses that she uses against herself or satan to get her focus back on God. Maybe do a blog about what your scripture trails are. Cause I just loved how one scripture led to another - it was powerful. I'm working on my scripture trail - making my index cards and putting them to heart. Thanks for all you do.

Oh, he is so cute! I never get tired of seeing pictures of him! Beth must be beside herself to have him in Houston.

How about an "out of the mouths of babes" blog? I love to hear what our children have to say about their faith.

A couple of weeks ago, I had a discussion with my 3rd grader about an issue that had been resolved for him. I told him I had prayed about it. He said "I prayed about it too, Mom. It just took a while for God to wrap His answer around my brain."

A few moments later, he said "You know prayer is a power we have that is a gift from God. We have the power to talk to him, but we also have the power to hear what He says back to us." My eyes stung with the happiest of tears!

Here's one for Travis. My youngest is 6. Since he was 3, his favorite song is "I Am a Friend of God." Only instead of singing "He calls me friend," Scott sings "Because we's friends." We sing it that way to this day.

It would be fun to hear what the other siestas hear from their kiddos!

I'm winging to Colorado Springs on Thursday. I can't wait!

How about a call for entries for "guest bloggers." People could email a blog entry that would be relevant to the rest of the blog readers...you could select a handful, and use them when you're having dry spells. It's amazing how, when you know you have a backup plan, the dry spells don't come so often! Just an idea...

Well, I think sleeping babies is one of my favorite subjects.. Your little guy is so stinkin cute! It brings back such great memories.. my baby is now 12.. cherish these years they really do fly by!

Let's see your mom is attempting to cook (Lord bless your dad) and Melissa has decided to become the next Giada.. I think you need something completely different.

Motherhood really has a way of changing so many things about us, and one common bond we all share is that we can never get enough of our kids, enough of the right advice about our kids, enough of the, "what healthy snack can I make that will look adorable enough for them to eat" subject. And basically any wonderful tidbit about mothering and parenting.. Since Jackson is your focus and has your attention 99% of the time, write about what you know, and what you are into the most right now...

Blessings
Mary

While Jackson is just as sweet as he can be, How about some of your Mommas sayings. My brother & and I were talking the other day and started laughing how Mom would get mad at him and tell him to be quiet before she hits him with a wet noodle! Where did that come from? We got online and looked up some of the old sayings that our parents used against us but we never found that one.
I'll bet Beth has come up with some hilarious ones!

I would also love to hear about how God is currrently calling them to do His work and what that work entails. I'm interested in what their revalation was like, how they knew it was God, how they went about moving in that direction (was it immediate, over time, etc). These stories are very inspirational to me.

Hey Amanda,
We like the pictures of Jackson, so keep those coming.

Potential blog posts could be serious or funny. Here's a serious one: During my prayer time, I'm presently going through "Praying The Names of Jesus" by Ann Spangler. The name I'm studying this week is Immanuel. You could share your own testimony of experiencing God's presence then invite Siestaville to do the same.

Share some of your GodStops from Believing God and Siestaville will respond in kind.

On a lighter note, since the kitchens of Siestaville have been so busy during the past week, I'm sure there are recipe disasters to report. Think of the comic relief reporting such disasters would provide, as ministry.

Invite Siestaville to share suggestions for fun that passes the Philippians 4:8 'Whatever' test. We're in the world but not of it, so what is a Christian sister to do for fun? We could also share books we've read that pass the 'whatever' test.

Thanks so much for giving us the opportunity to lighten your load. That's what being many members in one body of Christ is all about. I do hope your day is blessed.
Blessings to all who read this.
Patti

Beth love, I just enjoying knowing about your everyday life. How are things at the new office location?

Any big plans for the summer? What thing is at the top of your prayer list right now?

Just to be fair.. I will tell you a bit about my stuff. Currently I am working at the Polling Places here in Indiana. A lot of fun.. if you can call any part of the political porcess 'fun'. I enjoy people.

My plans for the summer include most immediatly my son's High School Graduation.. a party to celebrate.. and family visiting from far away.

The top of my Prayer List is Lord... 'Give me your direction for the next step in my life'. I am in a transition phase... and I want more than ever to do what the Lord wants me to do. I believe I know one of the many things I am supposed to do, but I want to be sure it is from the Lord.

Ok Beth... Your Turn!

What about a post on study materials suggestions for a women's Sunday school class?

I have been sensing the Lord's leading to start a Sunday school class for the woman at my small church. Since I have been blessed to participate in women's bible studies outside of my church I would love to share the bonding and spiritual growth experience with the woman of my church. I sense the leading to step out in faith however I'm sure what specific study materials, in addition to the Word of course, I should utilize. We will only have 40 - 45 minutes each Sunday so I video series might be a challenge.

I know the siestas are a mighty, Godly, spirtual group of women so any suggestions from those who have gone before or are there now would be greatly appreciated if you choose that topic.

Anything you feel like sharing about adjusting back to your new-old town would be neat too (I am kinda in the same situation - moved back last year to an area of Texas we used to live in although kiddos are in a different school district). Pics of the inside of your new home would be lovely too - especially if Jackson is in them! :)

Oh Amanda – he is such a sweetie! Don’t you just love the innocence?!

Ok, this SC girl is struggling with training up a child in the way that she should go. It's not me that has the problem – it is family members that think I am “way out there” for being so involved in the Word and in church. They think that no matter "how much" I try, that the world is still going to corrupt her and she will just follow suit. Ok, enough of my blathering! It's like, the way the world goes - they think that anything is ok and when I align things up in comparison to God's word, it just doesn't fit! I look at you and Melissa and you both are solid encouragement that if I continue with the training, it will not fail. Not to mention, there are several solid role models in church. Nobody's perfect, but as Christians - authentic Christians, aren't we called to be in this world and not OF THIS WORLD? Anyway, I hate to gossip - but it all started with all the news this week of the young pop star girl and her photos. I know what is right - but getting others to SEE WHAT IS RIGHT... well, maybe - do you think I just need a break?! Am I just too serious?! Thanks for listening. Definitely feel better! :o) Much love, Alisa in Cheraw, SC

Our ladies have bonded with such sisterhood, that I can't imagine not being in class with them! We started out taking the Daniel class 1/2 paced (my 1st year to take 1/2 paced, after taking full paced for 4 or 5 years!) Now, we're about to finish up a study on the Practice of Prayer authored by our leader. It has been wonderful learning how to pray scripture.
