Going Beyond

Hey My Darling Siestas!
I've been so anxious to catch up with you but in too fast a tail spin to do it! I have such a full plate today that I can't say as much as I'd like but I at least wanted to greet you in Jesus' great and powerful Name this morning and thank you a gillion for your incredible responses to the "tough being a woman" survey. Your answers were TERRIFIC and have already given me insight for the Esther study. After about four months of research, I've only just begun to write it and the process will take at least the next nine months. I am going to put your responses in a notebook and I will look at them MANY, MANY times in my writing journey. You are so precious to me. Sharing this community with you has already been used by God to add so many rich perspectives to this ministry. You were a missing link I needed, especially after having to retire from my beloved Sunday School class a year ago. I love you and I'm honored to serve you.

One more quick thing I hope you'll enjoy! One of the greatest treats of doing what God has called me to do is getting to be with other sisters who have been called to something similar. It's such a weird (and challenging) life that it helps tremendously to cross paths, laugh, and share the ups and downs of a public women's ministry. Between the Women of Faith and Deeper Still events, God is allowing me in this season to be with other speaker friends that I totally dig in the Lord Jesus. This weekend when I returned from D.C., my good buddy Priscilla Shirer (one of THE most gifted Bible teachers I've ever heard) was in Houston doing one of her brand new Going Beyond revival events (get one on your calendar). Our other good buddy, Lisa Whelchel, was there lending support and receiving a word so how could I resist? I threw on my jeans and headed to the church with a heart blazing with anticipation. Lisa and I sat on the front row and "Amened" and "Hallelujah'd" while Priscilla tore it up in the power of the Holy Spirit. We, then, got to grab time together after the event and talk a thousand miles an hour. I'm crazy about both of them and they are head over heels in love with the Lord Jesus. I thought you might be relieved to know that, in a world (even a religious world) replete with territorialism and competition and ghastly egotism, there are a whole bunch of us girls (still weak in our natural man and an inch from the next pit, if we're willing) who want desperately to be dead to the stinking flesh and alive to the Spirit, and able - despite pressure to the contrary - to cheer one another on in this difficult race on Planet Earth. Turf wars originated and persist in the devil himself and can erupt anywhere he is offered - however accidentally - an inch to work: churches, ministries, worship teams, mission fields. You name it. Be onto him when he rears his ugly head and refuse him the right to EVER talk you into a turf war with a brother or sister in Christ. U-N-I-T-Y!

I am in the process of trying to put together a women's conference (God-Inspired) for the local churches and community at our church and already Satan is rearing his ugly head, placing fear, doubt and anything else in our paths to stop this! I'm just trying to hang on to Jesus to see this come into being...solely for His Glory!

Beth, I recently heard an incredible speaker teach, his first comment was beware of anyone vying for position in any church or ministry. I have enjoyed your studies very much, but when the girls at church started to say things like, "we're doing a Beth Moore," instead of a Bible Study, and I began to hear your distintive voice in my mind when I read the scriptures, I began to look to other teachers. After a blessed time learning from others I am back, but you are only one of many, I am not saying it is your fault, but the enemy will use us or get to us any way he can. You might want to urge your disciples to listen to others often. Shalom,

I am excited to say that I will be going to see Priscilla’s this coming Friday in Brooklyn NY for the first time. I first heard of you Beth by picking up a book at my church’s library while I live in Atlanta for a year. It was: when godly people to ungodly things and I needed the message very badly because I was very close to quitting. Was it a coincidence? Not on God’s calendar. I didn’t know anything about you or heard of you for that matter but it was the beginning a whole new world for me. The book helped me tremendously and I’ve had been doing your study ever since. We shared so many similarities that God would use in my life in ways that I hope to share with you in heaven.

Through you – I would come to know Kay Arthur and l love her dearly and now Priscilla Shirer. Back in 2004, as a new babe in Christ, you taught me through the study of Breaking Free to ask God to show me how to love Him and He has answered that prayer. You are an inspiration and I am so glad that God raised you up for such a time as this when we need to be desperate for Jesus because everything else is counterfeit.
In the words of A.W. Tozer, my heart’s cry is:
O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, the Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory; I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, `Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.' Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wandered so long. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Long Island, New York

I was there!! I so received a word from my Lord. This was my first time to hear Priscilla speak. I had heard many great and wonderful things about her and I saw this advertised at the Bossier City Living Proof event in March. I brought my best friend, my mom, and my mom's best friend!
How very blessed I was by Priscilla's message and I am still pondering the Holy Spirit's message to me.
Beth, thanks so much for sharing your life, your thoughts, and your ministry. It is a blessing to me.

He is life!

So glad you were able to refresh your friends and be refreshed by them! What a blessing our Christian siestas are! Even if it's just to gab and giggle, God uses them to rekindle the fire in us, doesn't He?

Now, I need to check out Priscilla's stuff, but I have LOVED Lisa Whelchel since sitting in front of the TV after my bath to watch Facts of Life! What a delight it has been to watch her teach and grow in the Lord!

DELIGHT!

That brought tears to my eyes today. I've been following Lisa for years and am so proud (like I had anything to do with it) of her growth and choices. I suppose ... I grew up watching her ... so, I feel a little personal about it. But, to hear the affirmation of you and to know that people I love (from afar) are gathering together in support of each other thrills my heart.

I love it, Beth!
Yesterday I got the privilege of attending a church near the camp I am at this summer. I love getting to visit different churches once in a while.
The pastor said something very interesting regarding 1 Cor. 12:
"There is no unity without diversity. Uniformity is not the same as unity."
I love how we are all uniquely called to different areas as a body!!!
Have a great day...

Dear Beth -- I will be brief, but wanted Keith to know how much his foreword in your "Get Out of That Pit" book touched myself and my husband. We were in a VERY SERIOUS automobile accident almost three months ago. A head on collision with an 18-wheeler. And, after four surgeries and lots of horrific near death scares, my husband is on the mend. It will be a long road, but he is making progress. (I was not injured in the accident, just a bruised elbow.) We are having a great time getting to be together all day, each day. And we will always remember these times and what the Lord has taught us through this experience. We are ALMOST to the point of thanking God for the experience--I said ALMOST!!

Anyway, I received your book when we returned home after a six-week stay in the hospital. I picked it up and, as I always do with your books, began to read it from cover to cover. So, naturally, Keith's foreword was immediately at my fingertips. I read it, and read it, and read it. I would say about ten times. I cried and then I took the book into my husband (who cannot yet walk due to a crushed pelvis injury). I then read him the foreword and we both cried together for some time. You see, the one sentence that both my husband and I really needed to hear was..."Satan came for both of us very early. I guess he figured he could hurt more people by twisting us up than by killing us outright." Boy, did that comment hit home. So many of our church going friends have questioned "why us." I think others have questioned that maybe more than we have.

Please let Keith know how he has touched our broken lives. You never know, do you, what will speak to someone and how God will use a simple one liner to reach out to two very broken people.

Blerssings to you and your family,
Jackie

kBeth,
It is so interesting that you have addressed this subject. Just this weekend I was looking at our new CBD magazine, and they have your "Get out of that Pit" book listed as #2 in the top 20 hardback books. I was looking at the other 18 books behind yours and out loud said to my husband, "I wonder how much jealousy really goes on among some christian writers when they see other people's books doing better than theirs, etc." We went on to talk about how that is surely happening and how sad that it goes on among fellow believers. It is so cool to get on the blog today and read how you are encouraging us all to be careful and how that kind of thing is certainly out there and Satan wants to mess us up with it! I'm so proud of you for making a stand, seeing life in the real world, and being willing to fight against the flesh always! Sooo refreshing! Praying for you and your ministry...Tanya

Oh ya'll look so pretty! What I wouldn't give to be in a spiritual huddle with all 3 of you! I too reach out to several different Bible scholars for Bible study time. Although I have to admit my dear Seista that you and Jennifer Rothschild happen to be my favorites to read. :) And like Leigh said, you are a HUGE encouragement to those of us just spreading our wings in this calling. I felt Gods call on me for a looooooong time before finally giving in and learning more about the wild adventures He's got for me. For now it's writing, and boy does He ever have me writing! But I know in the near future the push to speak will come. I'm not ready for that step, but with Gods grace and power I'm available when He needs me. Your studies/videos/blogs, they all give us "newbies" courage and strenght to move into the light He's called us to. I'm so glad you do what you do! Praise God for putting such amazing women in such amazing posistions. All to His glory! :)

Quoting anonymous who posted at 10:47 on July 16th: "After a blessed time learning from others I am back, but you are only one of many, I am not saying it is your fault, but the enemy will use us or get to us any way he can. You might want to urge your disciples to listen to others often."

Beth is VERY thoughtful about concerns such as yours and has responded to this concern before. To quote Beth from one source I have at hand, her introduction to The Patriarchs study: "My soul's desire is to encourage you to love your God more through the study of His inspired Word. I encourage you again, Dear One, to protect yourself by staying under many teachers. At the same time, I am humbled and blessed beyond words that you'd allow me to be one of those. I do not take such responsibility lightly."

Even in this blog entry you responded to, Beth encouraged us to attend Priscilla Shirer's conferences.

Also, I for one, don't consider myself to be a "disciple" of Beth. I am a disciple of Christ and Beth is a wonderful resource and inspiration for me as I take this journey with the Lord.

Beth, so happy to hear the three of you had a wonderful time this weekend! You are all truly blessed to have each other as friends! :)

My stepmom and I went over our notes together before I came home yesterday...and WE HAVE A MINISTRY!!! She and I look forward to allowing God to remove layers of the veil of Glory, as scary as that can be at times....

Thank you for "kneeling" before our group and showing us how fun humility and serving Christ as He leads can be.

You are in our prayers.

(I've already made progress. I normally wouldn't have left a comment in your blog (since you don't know me from Eve), but I'm investing in people already, and wanted you to be encouraged, and to know that you've already impacted at least two people from the message God laid on your heart for our DC crowd!)

Hey Beth - The only Superstar in my "star's signature book" is JESUS. Although, I do have your signature in one of your books from years ago which is quite "special" to me. Thank you for always trying to stay "bowed" before His throne in humbleness. I pray that I will always be able to do the same since our Lord is calling me to Discipleship training for Siestas. Thank you for your love and encouragement. Much love from a Siesta in Lathrop, Missouri.

Amanda, I will not be offended if you choose not to post this comment, I just really thought it needed to be said!

Anonymous 10:47,
I want to shout it loud and proud that as I enjoy the Bible teacher Beth Moore, and thank God for her abilities to communicate the Word in such a profound way, I AM NOT HER DISCIPLE. I am a disciple of the Lord Jesus, who happens to enjoy the Word taught by many gifted communicators. There may be those who have placed people on the front lines of public ministry, as an idol in their lives, but to throw around words like "Urge your disciples" is presumptuous to say the least. Most people who teach effectively will have a "following." True disciples of Christ, (Like Beth Moore)will point people always to the Father. Anybody who has read this blog long enough knows that to be her character, and that is what makes her truly shine.

Sorry for the rant, I would have said this to "Anonymous" in a private email had she given the opportunity.

Beth:
Thank you for the refreshing word on unity. I am the wife of a senior pastor and know how jealousy and disunity can bring destruction into the body of Christ. We as humans like to share our joys and accomplishments with family, friends and co-workers, but most importantly, we must learn to genuinely share in their triumphs as well. I have often encouraged family, friends and church members to share their joys with me because I want to rejoice with them – and they do! It is inspiring to see God at work in the lives of others. God is huge! My husband and I have been privileged to travel to different parts of the world. It always excites me when we met up with a fellow Christian – a brother or “siesta” – and that we share a special kinship only because of Christ. Keep up the good work siesta! You are loved by so many!

P.S. By the way, do you have an acronym for U-N-I-T-Y? :)

Thank you for what you do. I can't wait to study Esther with you. And, thank you Amanda for your hard work with this blog. I don't always manage to get my messages to go through not sure what I'm doing wrong); but just to be able to read your messages and the responses from others is super-dooper!!! Tell Melissa to write soon, I love reading about her researh, etc. Blessings to you all. Melissa from NC

BETH!! You're Back!! Yay!!
A huge smile popped on my face when I read about you getting to go worship with Lisa and Priscilla! I am soo glad that you have girlfriends to go hangout with who are in the same ministry position as you. It makes me happy to know that you are all friends and learn from each other. In today's world, you see so many people who are teachers and leaders who refuse to be seen being taught. Like they are all finished learning and growing. Like there is nothing that any one can tell them. But not our Beth! You openly admit to the need for continous learning and growing. I am glad that you had an opportunity to be apart of the crowd, if that makes sense. One of my favorite parts of a women's event is worshipping and spending time with other ladies! I am all the time trying to get ladies to go to a LP event or any event that is coming, just so they can experience the awesomeness of it! I love hearing all the women singing praises to our Father!

Glad your back!!

I think of the scripture in John 17:20-24 talking about Unity: 20 “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will[e] believe in Me through their word; 21 that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22 And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: 23 I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

That's what it's all about!

Beth, thanks for the update, dear Siesta. I am excited about the Esther study, and also delighted that you've found some people in similar ministry to fellowship with. And I'd just like to give a hearty AMEN! to your words about turf wars and UNITY. Division in the Body breaks my heart and sometimes we need all the reminders we can get that we are part of the SAME Body and we'd better not be pulling against each other! :)

Sweet Beth,
Welcome back, siesta! How perfect that you were able to share with 2 other gals in ministry, and also be fed by the Holy Spirit. I am looking forward to the study of Esther, but know I will have to wait until you finish it with your Houston group for it to make it to the east coast.

And to Amanda....as one Bible study teacher said to me, "Don't take my word for it. Go the the Lord and check it out! Only His Word is Truth!!!" Amen!

Hope all of you at LPM have a glorious week full of unexpected blessings!

Beth,
Thank you for sharing so much of yourself with us. It's such an encouragement to see love for the Lord in action. In the bible study I'm doing (yours) The Beloved Disciple, you asked the question who had most influenced us in our walk with the Lord and I had to answer YOU. This ornery media world we live in God has used to expand my faith. May He continue to bless you gals in your ministries.

Thank you Beth. I'm glad you found the encouragement you needed from your fellow public ministry friends as you can relate to one another.

I saw Priscilla on a TRiVE telecast conference last fall and she made a comment that I can still remember. She said that though she is a speaker and teacher she is still a wife and mommy and washes dirty clothes and dishes.

For Lisa, I still have a copy of her book Creative Correction that I referred to for years when my oldest boy was much younger. She was a source of inspiration for me that she is part of the reason my husband and I decided to home school our boys.

I want to thank all of you for your dedication to the Lord that helps inspire me and many others in HIS word!

May the Lord continue to bless you as you press to work in UNITY for HIM!

In the same line of thinking as Amanda, even Beth herself studies from MANY commentaries for her ministry studies/teachings. She has many listed as references on her LPM website. We have seen some personal photographs of Beth studying on this blog that demonstrates her personal "treasure" of different teachers/teachings to prepare for studies. Arm yourselves with many different teachers/teachings. God speaks in many different languages and from many different personalities. BUT always remember to test the teacher/teaching against scripture. I think this is one reason so many invariably turn back to Beth - her teachings can definitely stand the test of scripture!!

I, too, have heard Beth say many times that we should be under a variety of teachers both in her recorded studies and when I've been blessed to hear from her at a live event.

It is indeed a precious picture that you share with us, lovely Beth. I pray you were filled to overflowing with wisdom and insight and every spiritual blessing! Thank you for all you share with us. Thanks to Amanda as well for allowing us this venue. Thanks to the Lord for the incredible ways He speaks and the fun ways He even uses technology! I love how He amazes us.

Thank you, Beth. I so needed this encouragment today. I am about to begin leading my SS class through your "When Godly People Do UnGodly Things" in LifeWay's MasterWork series, and as I've dug deep into my study time this past week Satan has waged an awful assault on me. He's even tried to use some of my sisters in my own church to discourage me. I know he would love nothing more than to divide us. I have been reminded afresh at how vicious our enemy can be.
He has certainly had "his murderous eye on this sparrow and wants to take out as many birds as he can with one stone." But I am standing firm. No rock throwing around here! We're clinging to THE Rock!
Please pray for me and my home sisters. And thank you again for this encouragment today. I love you, Sista!

I mean the only thing holding me back on living the spirit filled life like you demonstrate is my own self! I will never forget what you said in your car after hearing Buddy that "I want that" I have been echoing those words for several years and the hunger for that way of living is even stronger today. I am not looking for a suppresant hee hee! I tell you a good book to read is: "90 minutes in heaven" by Don Piper. This man has been there, down that! Anyway I am babbleing since I didn't get to comment I guess I am making up for lost time! LOL

I agree with Amanda and anonymous about being careful of idols.
I think that often does happen, just like there are sometimes " clicks" within the church.

I picture Beth as someone like any leader in my church, or any wise Christian I have come across in my life.
I noticed you said " Shalom" at the end of your comment. Rob Bell did a teaching on how the Rabbi's students would let the dust fall on them when he walked.
The goal is we have to learn all we can to know how to seek Jesus, and serve Him, become in the end just like Him. How do we do that, but by following the lead of those ahead of us.

If I ever met you, Beth. I would ask you, " How did you do it, how did you come to the place of faith you have now?" and the funny thing is, I could picture you make the same face that my Pastor's wife does at me because, I already know that answer.
That is when you know your student has learned something. I know where to find the answers when asking the question.

Honestly, I think if I ever had a chance to sit down and talk to you, I'd bring my own teaching heart, and bible study for us to do, and definitely scene would be starbucks lol. It wouldn't be a big deal to me, and I am glad I can say that. Praise God:)

Hope all is well, I do love everyone here, some of you have had some goofy phone conversations off the board w/me, won't mention any names...KATE:) lol. Some amazing women are apart of this board, whome I would have never met if not through bible studies that Beth Moore wrote. I hope everyone does try to check out others blogs besides this one, I ENCOURAGE it!

P.S- the anniversary of my Pop Pop's death is Friday July 19th, he died in 1999. I am up here visiting to be able to visit his grave. I am not going to take up space here about it. Just please pray:)love yaz chica siestaz!

Okay Beth, had to come back and say God used your blog entry to introduce me to Priscilla and to help me with my jealousy issue. I visited Priscilla's website and read her July article titled "Green Eyes". You MUST read it. I have been acting just like her son, Jackson. Green with envy! Not able to be consoled by my loving Father. Unable to enjoy the party if it weren't for ME! I pray for my eyes to remain clear blue and seeing others gifts as something to REJOICE over not pout about! God loves me and gives me gifts meant for me!
Thanks!!

Beth,
You brought up something I think about alot. Why is it that Christians, especially Christian women, are so horribly hard on each other? Why are we so inclined to allow Satan to tear the family of God apart instead of trusting God to build it?

It is wonderful to hear that you had such a beautiful and spirit-filled experience with your sisters in ministry. To me fellowship is like a tall glass of iced water (or maybe sweet tea) on a hot summer day. It fights off the heat, refreshes the soul and leaves me satisfied yet thirsting for more.

I thank God every day for the arms, ears and voices of my sisters (and brothers) in Christ.

Thank you so much for the message- I am striving to be transformed and changed, not just appearing to be changed but living it out. Thank you- I truly needed this weekend, I was at the end of my rope with stress, and you were so right when you said that so many women feel like we just cannot do one more thing. I needed the reminder that it isn't about me holding it all together, it is abou trusting that God is big enough to hold it all together for me. God is so good- all the time.

It looks like you had a good time! It's great to have a support group of friends who understand what you are going through! I receive so much love and support from my church girlfriends and my old high school girl friends, but sometimes I need to meet with me mothers of multiples club friends to share the trials and joys of having twins!
God give you the words as you work on the Esther study. I did not get time to respond to the question but I think the toughest thing for me is Time management. I get so exhausted trying to do it all and be it all. Mom, wife, friend, full time job, church activities, choir, mission friends teacher, bible study leader and the list goes on! I love doing it all but trying to pick your priorities is hard. Physical exhaustion comes and then I am not as good of a mom as I want to be. I'm sure we all struggle with it.
Have a blessed day!

Beth,

I had the privledge of attending Deeper Still in SF in the Spring. While I learned so much from all 3 of you and your teaching, I learned volumes about women, and Women's Ministry from simply observing you, Priscilla and Kay. Watching 3 women from different generations, with different ministry styles, different audiences and all of the things women deal with, still be for one another and better yet minister together, it was a picture of John 17 lived out. There was one time in particular you gave Kay a glance as she was answering a question you had started to answer. It is a look I will never forget, and in that instance I knew you were the real deal, authentic to the core, and every bit about allowing Jesus to have His way with you. Thank you for modeling unity in the body. There is nothing so freeing as truly rejoicing when others are operating in their gifting and obedience to God. I am thrilled that you have women in your life with whom you can share the joys, challenges, and still find humor in it all. God is so good.

What better way then to try to breed competition among fellow believers. Thank you for letting God speak through you and being so genuine and real!

Thank you for the great reminder not to get into turf wars. Ministry can be such a lonely place... we need to encourage one another to use the gifts they are given, even if it is in the same area we feel led to go in.

Oh Beth you are so right to say beware of turf wars! turf wars and comparisons just seem to come naturally to us. But oh what a blessing when we just let God be God and let Him use who He wants when He wants. We use to a foursome teacher that we took turns teaching for the women's bible study. And although I have taught alot since then it is still my one of my most favorite memories because we each taught in a different way with a different emphasis. The Lord never failed to have just the right teacher teach the portion of scripture that fit their teaching style. We were all (teachers and women)so blessed by each other.
But I have to share one funny time: we were going through Samuel and I looked ahead at the chapter I would be teaching. I started praying about it and reading commentaries, etc and one night I was so excited because the message just came together. I was laying in bed thinking, so I grabbed a pen so I would remember it in the morning. I was so excited because God had given me the outline in an acroustic - A FIRST and I had always wanted to do that but hard as i try I never could! The next morning I called one of the other teachers only to find out it wasn't my chapter after all! Praise God, He did all that just for me ;)!
I am so glad you were refreshed Beth. Praying for your Esther study.

I just have to add one more thing.... When God has spoken to you through a Bible teacher, it's hard not to "camp" there. I wanna be where the Holy Spirit is and He is with Beth. Also, having similar backgrounds and a closeness in age, I know Beth knows what she is talking about--she's been where I've been--and she was my "living proof" of how to be free in Christ. How to walk in God's Word and pray God's Word. I do Beth Moore Bible studies because God speaks to me through them. When He stops speaking to me, then I'll stop doing them. I think that should be the criteria for any study. But then, that's just me.

Being careful of jealousy or watching other's success is my prayer everyday--even before I ever get published. I don't want it to matter. I just want Him to matter--He'll take care of the rest. Each wave is put together eventually to make one tide.

And, thank you for the blog ministry. Because of it, I decided to create a blog and now I have so many "bloggy" friends that I miss when I don't hear from them regularly.

I just wanted to comment on one more thing....someone in the comments mentioned "jealousy"...I personally have a challenge with "recognition"....(ok, I'm confessing to all of my siestas here and God already knows about it 'cause I'm constantly talking to Him about it!!!)Yes, from early on I have always tried to be my best in everything to gain the attention of others in what I do or say...started very early in my childhood. I struggle with this constantly because I truly want everything I do or say to glorify my Heavenly Father. I ask Christ to give me a humbled spirit, one that seeks only Him and let Him guide me, yet I "wait" to see if someone may "comment" on my way of teaching or singing....why is that? I know it is Satan, who always hits my weakest parts. And yes, when I get comments, then I absolutely feel so guilty about it!! No, I am not perfect but I strive to be a vessel that God can use in a mighty way for His Purpose. And I feel as long as I struggle with this, then He cannot use me as He wants to.

I haven't a clue. I'm not into the mall thing nor do I want to look for sales at Macy's...and the idea of sharing my phone, computer, and female toiletries is a thorn in my side. LOL! Oh my...and boys! Boys, proms, break-ups, and break-outs...I'm not equipped for this.

Siesta Beth...how did you ever get through those teen years with your girls?

I know the grace I need will be there when I need it...I know He has and is equipping me for the job...although I feel completely inadaquate. I know it will all be for good...but nevertheless...my knees are still shaking.

OK, I'm dying to know: Is Keith banned from the blog? Obviously he doesn't post, but does he read? Or am I a silly female to think a man would have any interest here?

I once read a quote...I forget by who but it very well could have been Beth that said "True Ministry is when you leave people wanting more of Him and less of you." I love to study Beth because everytime I am in the midst of one of her studies I do want more of HIM and after it is over I still want MORE OF HIM.

Super excited about Deeper Still in Nashville. My birthday was in June and it was what I asked my mom to get me this year.

Thankful for the gift He is has given you,
Lori

Sorry for the second post but I found out where the quote came from on my first post and wanted to share since it goes right with unity.

"Ministry is when the people who hear you don't want more of you; they want more of Him because of what you have said."

Can I say, again, THANK YOU for this blog site. I just came off some very hard days on the cancer floor where I work. Icame to the site and found refreshment from the dear sisters who shared their hearts and struggles and the encouraging postings by Amanda and Beth. Praise God for honest hearts and a safe place to share. In Jesus' Love Kathy Knoblock

I'm loving that photo because Lisa Whelchel was the person who "introduced" me to you, Mrs. Moore! I think she's just darling and she mentioned on her website how much she enjoyed your Bible studies. Also, I've always (not so) secretly wanted to be Blair. I've coveted her hot rollered hair as long as I can remember.

Thank you for introducing us to Priscilla. I will be sure to check out her ministry!

Bless you!

Did you hear me screaming "Amen!" from my writing chair in Austin, TX?

Goodness, sister, had I known you three were all in Houston together, I would have hopped in my car for a little road trip! Three of my alltime favorite speaker friends! Muah, to you all. (Beth, if you don't know what that means, ask Amanda--she's sure to know!)

Beth,

How neat that YOU would get to attend a conference this past weekend too. My best friend and I were at your pre-conference in D.C. on Friday and wondered if you attend other conferences yourself! What a quick answer!

Thanks for your message. I am always amazed that when I ask Him, God speaks in such amazing ways. He reinforced through you that I have a ministry and now I am encouraged and refreshed to continue with it all the way.

On my way to the conference my 3 sons commented to each other that I was going to hear Beth Moore. My oldest said to the others, "She's gonna talk all day... blah, blah, blah, I love Jesus, blah, blah, blah, I have big hair, blah, blah, blah, I'm from Texas." Isn't that hilarious??? But if you can be characterized by anything I suppose that Loving Jesus and having great hair are just the best! Then, my doggie attempted to jump in the car and come to. My 4 year old told him that doggies can't go hear Beth Moore! Oh, how he wanted to be there. See? You've even inspired a "Doggies for Jesus" movement! hehe

All too late, my friend and I wished that we had worn big ol' sombreros and represented for the Siestas, especially when you mentioned "the stomp"!

Glad you were refreshed by Priscilla's conference!

Blessings & Love,
Michelle

What great warriors!! Keep the unity bug going!! I hate when the 'competition' fly starts buzzing around. I think we all find times of fighting this dirty snake! Glad to see 3 ladies proving to be victorious in unity!

I am busting to do the Esther Bible Study!! Every time you mention it I get sooooo excited knowing it is that much closer!!

Many blessings!

kittyhox,

You will love Priscilla! That whole Evans family is annointed. I think Priscilla holds her own with her dad in the preaching....umm...I mean "speaking" department. And Tony Evans is one of my favorite preachers!

When we lived in the Dallas area, my husband worked with juvenile delinquents in Oak Cliff/South Dallas. These kids were pretty tough--and mainly in juvy for gang activity.

My husband would listen to Tony Evans each night on the radio as he drove the boys home. One night, he turned it off. Suddenly, a voice came from the back seat, saying, "Hey, turn that back on. I was listening to that."

That boy, whose name is Brandon, ended up accepting Christ. : )

Beth, I heard you today in your "Wednesdays with Beth" program on "Life Outreach International". Your comment about being amazed at how many people highlight that they are glad you are "REAL"! The answer to your question is .... unfortunately, we are not all real! We are afraid to be real or just don't desire to be real. Sad, but true!

I was told recently that I am too honest - by my boss. I had to giggle under my breath and think about my mom and dad and how they would love to hear someone tell their 42 year old daughter this. I just smiled thinking to myself you mean this as an insult and I am taking it as a compliment.

Can we be too honest? Yes, I know, we need to be respectful in our honesty, but aren't we supposed to be honest and truthful?!
Is it a good thing to be politically correct? Yes, as stated earlier, we are to be respectful, but are we to buy into "political correctness"?
Are we insulting ourselves (not to mention our Heavenly Father) by not standing up for truth, honesty, being "biblically" correct instead of politically correct?

I have also heard Beth comment lately on how Satan is getting nervous because he knows the end is coming. I see this more so than before - he certainly does stir up trouble around every corner whether we expect it or not! - which speaks to the "Pit" book, as I call it.

Beth's "Pit" book speaks to Satan's trouble-making skills! About chapter 3, I realized I was reading a pattern - "mind warfare" or "mind control". It is a scary thing to read about and realize just how vulnerable we are. If you have not read the "Pit" book, go check it out. I literally checked it out from the library. It is a book full of insightful information as well as some wisdom!!

Love ya LPM!
Janet

It is so good to know that you get time worked into your schedule where you can be taught and blessed;

Your teaching on Life Today this week touched me so deeply......The tears fell as you so vivdly told of holding Amanda for the first time (I have one also and they are the same age) and how you could not fathom how something so pure could come from somethng so impure!

Exactly my feelings.....
Stay real.....

Siesta Beth, i so love this picture!! I read Lisa's webpage quite often, and have been HUGELY blessed by Priscilla Shirer's book "He Speaks to Me"!

Please, everyone, forgive me for my very poor English, but I just wanted to briefly comment on an earlier post that highlighted how easy it is to "fall for the preacher", so to speak, as opposed to focus on the True Redeemer. I think diversified ministries exist, in great part, because each focuses on the often very individual needs of a population that is HUGELY broad in terms of where they are in their Christian walk, what their background is, what their emotional state is at the moment, what their "here-and-now" may require, and so on. As "young" as I am in my new walk with the Lord, and particularly because I come from a non-evangelical background, one of difficulty, violence, abuse and addiction, I found Beth's servant heart to be my ideal "indicators" of where to focus my newly found faith in Christ Jesus, and that's why I view her teachings as the ideal tools that help me focus on my growth as a "new" Christian and follower of our Savior. That said, I am soooooo thankful to the Lord and absolutely chuffed to bits at the wealth of information and direction I am able to reap from equally wonderful teachers such as Priscilla, Jennifer, Lisa, Kay, Stormie, oh my! -- I could go on & on & on ! :)

Again --- sorry for the TERRIBLE syntax and thank you all, dearest, dearest Siestas!! Thank you, Beth!

Dear Beth,

I know this is totally random, but I hope it makes you laugh. : ) I read on the LPM website the other day that you are doing a Bible Study on Esther this Fall and was super excited ( I live in Houston). That night I had the funniest dream. We all showed up for the study, you had a really cool purple suit on, and your hair was looking exceptionally great. However, instead of speaking to us, we did AEROBICS! And mostly abs, at that! There you were in your purple high heels and nice dress suit dancing away. It was great! I woke up thinking, "Did I really just dream that?" Just thought I would share : ) By the way, I'm really excited about the study!!!! (No ab exercises please, though : )

I would have been right there at the Met shouting out my "Amen's" if I had not been on vacation with my family that week! I have the privilege of leading our Sunday afternoon Ladies Bible studies, and we are in the middle of Priscilla's "He Speaks to Me - Preparing to Hear From God" It is so fabulous!! Priscilla is an anointed speaker and teacher who speaks with such authority and transparency. You all are so awesome! We are blessed to have such leadership in the Body of Christ as you all lead us through the Word.
Thanks,

I so wanted to be there to see Priscilla speak in person, but alas my checkbook did not cooperate. We are in the 5th week of her Discerning The Voice of God Bible study and it is amazing!!!! This last week was awesome!! I am a "homegirl" at Tuesday night Bible study and anyone who dives into the word with us there knows how much we miss it in the off months. Priscilla's teaching has kept me from missing anything. If you haven't done the study, find it and do it! You won't be sorry.

See you Girls in September,
Terri
