25 Reasons Why My Sister is a Rock Star
My friend Michelle, whom you may have read about in Get Out of That Pit for a prank she pulled while we were in college, loves to compliment her friends by saying, "You're a rock star!" So I'm stealing Michelle's cool saying. In honor of my sister's 25th birthday, here are 25 reasons why Melissa is a rock star.
1) She has the heart of a lion. Strong and brave.
2) She loves nerds. But she never was one.
3) She calls her Bible the Holy Scrips.
4) She can read out of a Greek New Testament.
5) She still makes our mom roll her hair for special occasions.
6) She makes up extremely bizarre names for the people she loves.
7) She is the funniest person in our family.
8) It's never as much fun when she's not around.
9) She's a wonderful auntie to Jackson.
10) On several occasions, we've picked each other up from the airport wearing the same outfit.
11) She squeals when she's really tickled.
12) She hates words with "p" in them. Pumpernickel, pumpkin loaf, pamphlet, etc.
13) She has THE most beautiful hair in the world.
14) She's honest.
15) She knows a thing or two about perseverance.
16) When we were little girls, we would soak our feet in hot water together. We never outgrew it.
17) She was and is better than most boys at sports.
18) She's got an artistic side.
19) Which means she's great at decorating and putting outfits together.
20) She's an inch taller than me. But my feet are bigger and I don't think that's fair.
21) She loves classic cars.
22) When she was 14, she bought an iguana to impress a guy. Mom eventually had to pay the pet store to take it back.
23) She's a faithful friend.
24) She's a very good baker and she also throws great dinner parties.
25) She'd give me a lung or a kidney if I needed it and I'd do the same for her.

I totally agree on the gorgeous hair part!!
All of you Moore ladies have some amazing hair!!!

I love the way you love your sister and the Rock Star comments were great. There is nothing in the world sweeter that a wonderful sister who is also your best friend. I know because God has blessed me with 2 sisters that I adore. We have such fun together just like you and Melissa. You girls have fun celebrating and a big Happy 25th Birthday to Melissa, Both of you Rock! God's Blessings all over you.
Carolyn
Happy Birthday Melissa! May God bless you with many many more!
Ahhhh, sister love. I have four of my own and there ain't nothin' like it! Happy Birthday, Miss Melissa!
Happy Birthday Melissa! Have a great day!
What a tribute to your sister Amanda and I'm sure after reading your top 25 list about her she would definitely say you are a "rock star" of a sister!!!
I have five sister's and it seems our entire lives we were constantly in competition with one another at any given time. We did not have the idyllic childhood and I often wonder under different circumstances(a home were there was peace and no violence) what we would have been like with each other growing up??? I would have liked to experience the kind of memories you have that would move you to write such amazing things about your sister. It's really beautiful and it reminds me to strive to build an even closer friendship with my own sisters now.
God has given us all a different kind of "sister friendship" because of all the "stuff" we went through together and I can't imagine not having them in my life now. God has been so good in helping us build healthy relationships with each other. It really is nothing short of miraculous. That's I guess what I love most about our wonderful God....He redeems everything if we'll let Him!!!
Thanks for sharing Amanda!! Please tell "your rock star sister" I wish her the happiest and most blessed birthday week and year ever!!!!!!!!!!
How fun to read your rock star list for Melissa! My seven and 1/2 year younger sister sent me a "40 reasons why I love my sister" for my fortieth bday. It was FOR SURE my most favorite gift on a day when I felt soooooo old.
Aren't sisters the best?
Celebrating Rock Star Melissa on her 25th Birthday,
Warm in Alaska
Amanda, if you are into scrapbooking, this list and a photo would make a great page. :)
Rockstar indeed! She sounds like an incredible sister Amanda, and your love for her is so sweet!
Totally sweet! I hope when my girls are older they feel the same about each other. I think you both are Rock Stars, and loving Jesus and HIS ways are very evident. Rock on!
Ahhhh, "sisters, sisters, there were never such devoted sisters..."
(My 2-1/2 year old daughter would be singing the whole song by now if she were awake and I was singing aloud.)
So much love. What a blessing sisters are, familial or siestas. Thanks for sharing, Amanda.
Happy Birthday, Melissa.
What a wonderful tribute to Melissa! How lucky you are to have a sister. Mine went to heaven much too early (35 y/o - 29 years ago) as a result of breast cancer. I miss her and growing old together.
Happy Birthday Melissa!!!
After reading all about your sister I would say she is "Rock Star". I have 2 sisters and I couldn't imagine my life without them. There's just a special bond between sisters! I'm glad you have such a great one!
Blessings,
Georgia Mom
So cute! I especially liked #12, my 21 year old daughter has a list of words we are not allowed to say. Pretty much anything with p like you mentioned but also lots of words with g like glob and gulp. No one is ever allowed to say SPIDER or roach in her presence and she doesn't like circles! weird.
Praying for your grandfather and your mom and dad as they travel.
how sweet and funny!
i have 4 daughters and I hope they will be as close as you two are!
I hope Melissa had a great birthday....full of fun, family, friends and lots of great memories.
Amanda, your love for your little sister is plain for all to see. With-out-a-doubt, I'm sure you are a rock star in Melissa's eyes as well. How blessed you are to have each other.
Hugs
Happy Birthday, sweet Melissa! I'm praying this will be your best year yet! Serve Christ with ABANDON and be The ROCK Star that you truly are...
Thanks for sharing that, Amanda! You are a Shining Star!
Sounds like you love your sister as much as I love mine. There's nothing like sister love.
I love that you and your sister are so close. My two girls are each other's best friend, and that makes a mom very happy b/c we know that long after we're gone, you will still have each other! Brothers are good too, but, personally speaking, there's nothing like a sister! Thanks for sharing your heart.
Happy Birthday Melissa!
Amanda, that was priceless.
I'm praying that you and your sweet family will be filled to the measure with the fullness of God.
Great Tribute Amanda. I love that she calls her Bible the "Holy Scrips", and that she doesn't like words with "P".
Happy Birthday Melissa from a member of your extended family in Christ...
Hope you have a glorious birthday Melissa!
Amanda what an awesome sister you are!!
SISTERS ROCK!
(I have 2 and they are my best friends too!!)
Ok, I am completely stumped on the "p" thing...LOL! What in the world?!
Happy Birthday Melissa! :)
I just casually opened the blog on a (rare) lazy Saturday morning, started reading AJ's 25 reasons why Melissa is a rock star and nearly coughed up my Cheerios laughing. God has given me the craziest two girls ever. I laugh till I cry with them over things so stupid, nobody else would even think they were funny. Like the Mother's Day when Pastor asked all the moms to stand up then started calling out decades (moms in their 30's, 40's, 50's) toward the oldest mom in the room who'd get a prize. The younger ones were to sit down after their decade passed and leave the older ones standing. Melissa held my legs so tight that I was still standing with the mothers in their seventies and inadvertently drawing attention to myself as I beat my own child on the head. The Moores never recovered through the whole service and got so many ugly looks that we had to move to another section the next week.
And to top that off, Melissa will still swear that AJ is twice as funny as her. They are nuts. N-U-T-S. As in Nearly Unbearable Twisted Sisters. Melissa was right all along. We are a freak show.
Okay girls...you gotta spill the beans on the iguana story! It sounds too funny. Is there a parable in there perhaps? (p words)
Happy Birthday Melissa
Jan
Very very sweet! Of course, I think you're all Rock Stars! :)
Very sweet Amanda, and funny too. Happy Birthday to Melissa! What a treasure your family is.
I love my sister, too! I need to make a list for her. She's older than me, but I'm taller. I have a theory that the younger child is usually taller. Someone has probably invented a scientific name for it :)
I have to brag on her: this morning she made cinnamon rolls for the whole teen summer camp we're working at. From scratch.
I LOVE that she calls her Bible the "Holy Scripts." I think I'm gonna steal that one. I just ADORE my sisters too! Aren't sisters the greatest. Heidi and Becki may never read this, but..."you are the greatest sister in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD. And, we can drink out of the same cup because 'we have the same germs.'"
HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MELISSA!
love you,
Kristi
taffy-w/sugar-and-syrup-on-top-sweet! Great tribute!
Happy Birthday!
Amanda I loved you list! You crack me up! All three of you are rock stars;) I have two sisters who I adore as well, theres just nothing like it!
And now, with the little story your mom just added, I think Melissa is side splitting funny! I couldn't stop laughing picturing your poor mom standing there with all those elderly women! TOO stinkin funnny! Thank you Beth, Amanda and Melissa for all the laughs!
Blessings!
Suzi
oh I LOVE this post amanda!
makes me wish i had a sister....
mmm. sweet sweet sweet
I looooved this entry!! She has a lot in common with my little sister, Hope Klein, who turned 25 in May. Not sure if she and Melissa ever met, but they were Moody students at the same time.
Totally cool tribute to your favorite Rock Star!!! Thanks for sharing.
Paulette from East Texas
Very sweet, Amanda! Very sweet!
You are some lucky sisters to have eachother!!
I've never had a aister (only brothers!) so reading this is precious!
Lindsee
How wonderful! Happy Birthday Melissa!
Hope you had a great birthday, Melissa. As your sister would say, "You rock!!"
~Cheryl
Amanda, Isn't it wonderful how God hand picks the people that He places in a family... I have a sister, also. I am so thankful that God chose to put us in the same family together. I love having her to do life with.
I also have 2 daughters who are best friends with each other...they are 23 and 21...their names are Amanda and Melissa!! I love to see how they love each other. They have loved each other from the very beginning of their life together. One morning very early in the morning when Amanda was about 3 she got up while I was still sleeping and for some very odd reason decided to get a jar of grape jelly out of the refrigerator. She took the jar and climbed into Melissa's crib with her and proceeded to literally cover Melissa with the jelly!! At some point I woke up and walked into Melissa's bedroom and screamed!! I thought something really horrible had happened! Melissa had jelly running down her face from the top of her head!!Then I laughed and took pictures. It's one of our favorite, funny memories. They have shared so much of life together already and I'm so looking forward to watching them share more of this life together.
Amanda, thanks for reminding us of how special these relationships are!
Also, I've been lifting all of your family up to God in prayer and I can't wait to hear how God shows Himself mighty!
Much love and prayers, Lisa
You Moores are so funny! I can just see Melissa holding your lets and the scene you caused. Truth be known, we are all a little "nuts" that's why we love you so. You brighten my day with your "funnies".
"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows". James 1:17
Laughter is one of those perfect gifts I receive so often when I tune in to our blog. Thanks for sharing the laughter!
Have a great day, dear Moores.
Blessings!
what a blessing to have 3 rock stars in the same family! ;) i guess mr. keith would be the manager of this awesome trio?! :)
i think you are ALL hilarious...you certainly keep blog world on our toes on a daily basis...what a treasure to be each other's biggest fan...
i'm claiming you two as my pseudo sisters since i never had one :D
oh and yes...please share the wealth with the hair... :)
I think it's so great! You two sound like best friends. Did you ever feel jealous of her or her of you at one time? Cause I've always felt a little jealous of my sister. She's so great that sometimes it feels hard to live up to. can you relate?
Happy Birthday Melissa!!!
I wanna be a rock star. Watch her marry a guy named Paul or Pedro someday.
You're an awesome sister for writing that!!
Have a blessed day!
Love,
lisa
What a fantastic idea!! My brother is such a trooper - & going thru increadably tough times - I intend to send my own "Rock Star" a personal list. Thanks. From one July B-day girl (22nd) to another-ROCK ON GIRL!!!!
mistie woods - abilene
Amanda, Melissa is very lucky to have a sister like you! I think I would die of a heart attack if one of my sisters wrote me something that nice! :) HAPPY BIRTHDAY MELISSA! My 25th was my fav! You're only closer to 30 from there! :) Blessings to all 3 of you ladies!
happy birthday Melissa
May you be blessed with many more.
I am the oldest of four girls and no brothers! We had a great time growing up and are all still the very best of friends. Sisters are so wonderful and such a blessing from God. My sisters are all rock stars just like Melissa! Sisters are there no matter how much time and how many miles are in between. When we began this adventure, we had no idea of the incredible joys or sorrows that lay ahead. Nor did we know how much we would need each other. Every day, we need each other still. I love you girls.
Ya'll are the coolest family...
love your list amanda!
p.s. Got me a Deeper Still ticket !
Oh, how I hope and pray my 3 daughters love each other like this when they're grown! What a blessing.
Sisters are a wonderful blessing, i have 4. Couldn't imagine life without any of them. Happy Happy birthday Melissa. And many, many more.
Happy Birthday Melissa!
I love it that you are such close sisters. Thank you for allowing us to glimpse into your lives. After all, many of us feel as though we know you after completing these Bible studies. Thank you for following in your mother's footsteps and sharing God's amazing love with others.
Oops...I think I goofed on my comment earlier and forgot that whole important part about typing in the
word verification.
Precious post Amanda! Makes me so thankful I get to go visit my own sister this week. She's my other half.
And Mrs. Beth, I can only imagine the giggles and scene created when you were a 70 year old Mom for a moment! LOL
Happy Birthday Melissa. We almost share the same day...mine is on the 19th.
The 25 reasons are GREAT!!! I always say my sisterface ROCKS! Um, of course everything Rocks to me...lol. Hope your day was fabulous!!!
Wow! It has been a long time since I got on here. A week of VBS and you sort of forget that the rest of the world is functioning without you! And I was even working at VBS this week! They had an adult class that my husband and I participated in. We had so much fun. Several people moving through the halls said they knew I was in there, because they recognized my laugh. People other places have poked there head around the corner and said they knew that was me because they recognized my laugh. I have decided that I laugh way too much and I should quit. I'm serious I laugh at things that really aren't even funny. Anyway, Melissa sounds like my kind of person. Normal people scare me and she is definitely not normal! She's extraordinary!! And so are you Amanda!!
Great post Amanda-- Happy Birthday Melissa. I have to comment on #10. I am nearly 50 years old and my sister a couple of years younger and we showed up at a family function a while back dressed in the same outfit. We live in different states and had no idea we owned the same stuff. Our daughters think we are frightenly alike. Some things NEVER change--thank the Lord!
I loved this post, Amanda! It's so awesome to see sisters who are so close. Speaking of rock stars, have you heard your buddy Mandisa (ManDiva)on the Toby Mac "Portable Sounds" cd? She's so awesome - we love Toby too :) Anyway, I thought of you when I heard her singing. Tell M happy b-day (a little late).
Love this! Happy Birthday Melissa! You girls are definitely stars - an inspiration to us all.
To whoever was wondering, Melissa and I definitely did not always get along. We are like night and day and didn't always know how to handle our differences. And of course we have battled jealousy just like every other set of sisters you know. I think we turned a corner when I went to college and we actually missed each other. About that time we both learned to live in the power of the Holy Spirit, which made a huge difference. It is wonderful to have a close relationship and we give all the credit to God for that gift!
This "My Sister is a Rock Star" made me want to share my own rock star story!
Rock Star Parking...for the past several years one of my friends and I always shout out "Rock Star Parking" when we find a parking spot close to any door. (I know, I know, we should park a mile away for the exercise), BUT, we know that God wants to provide us with the good things in life, like close parking spots.
Anyway, I told this Rock Star Parking thing in Bible Study one night and the next week one lady came back asking what we call our God-Given parking spots because she wanted to write it down :-) like in the front of her Holy Scrips where all those famous quotes from Spurgeon go.
So, anytime anyone wants to give God the Glory for a great parking spot, just remember to shout it out, "Rock Star Parking" because He knows that we Rock and we are Stars to Him!
Happy Birthday Melissa!
Amanda- Reading your posting brought a flood of grief for me. I don't have my little sister anymore. There's so many crazy little things that make her beautiful to me - just like you wrote about Melissa.
Anyway, thanks for the post- I needed a good cry to release a little of the pain of missing my sister - and I also needed some smiles through the tears as I read your memories and thought of those that I have.
Celebrate! I hope you and Melissa are together today.
Happy 25th Melissa! Hope you had a great day. I love your top 25.
God Bless.
Kara
That was a blessing!! It is so encouraging to see two sisters so crazy about one another!!
I must take this opportunity to say that I watched the first DVD for "Wising Up" tonight and WOW!! I WANT it!! I want that wisdom in God's fist!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your obedience to the Lord over and over and over again!! I am praying daily for all of you and your ministry!

I must say you're scholarship is a little off. I'm shocked. As an actually real live rock star (ok, soft rock star) I assure you that none of us are better at sports than most boys, even if we are, in fact, actually boys. It's impossible for one human being to possess both the musical skills necessary to be a real live rock star AND the motor skills necessary to be better at sports than most boys.
I'm just saying that you, like Michelle, may know your holy scrips well but your rock stars? You've got some learnin' to do.
Happy B-Day to Michelle.
Happy Birthday Melissa. I don't have any sisters - just 2 younger brothers. But I'm enjoying having my sisters-in-law. :)
Happy Birthday Melissa! Amanda, you ROCK as a sister in my opinion and to me you BOTH Rock! I loved that story about Mother's Day from your Mom! You guys crack me up. Blessings all over!
Love ya siesta!
Donna
Happy Birthday!
That is such a precious post! I love to see sisters living in unity! God bless you both!
In His love,
Angela
You've got to be kidding, Amanda? You and Melissa "didn't" always get along? Say it isn't so (tee hee)!!!
I think it's a requirement for sisters to disagree as they're growing up. So glad the two of you found out how wonderful those "differences" can be when you're walking in the Spirit.
Happy Birthday, Melissa !!!
Love, in Christ,

Very Sweet Post:-)
My sister thinks she's a rock star lol. Seriously lol.
She'll be 23yrs this year.
Enjoyed reading:)
Be Blessed:)
~Angelina~
Oh, I just loved that! Aren't sisters the best! :)
Love,
Sarah, TN
Kristen loves her sister Cassie just the same way you love yours. She treasures the twenty one years they had together before she went home to be with the Lord. It blessed us mothers to have daughters that love each other the way ours do.
Slightly off subject...promise!
I went into a Christian bookstore up here in NJ, and it was FILLED to the top it seemed with all kinds of cool stuff, not like FL where you can't find anything...
AND
there was a picture of Beth Moore, right above the books, I had to laugh a little.
It was like the " Beth Moore" section lol.
Interestingly, they don't even know who you are yet!
Angie
Happy birtday Rock Star Melissa!!
You are both blessed to have your sister as friend too!!
OK I just have to say that Beth's comments cracked me up!!!!
My sisters and I were close in age so we fought like some kind of crazy!!
Also, I wanted to be a rock star but I didn't have what it takes...no skills...for a reason!! LOL!!!
Makes me think:
1) Praise God for my sisters. (Ok, especially my one sister whom I ADORE)
and:
2) That I should have a few more babies in hopes that I would wind up with a girl or two. Gotta love my 3 boys, but, well, ho hum, they are not sisters....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MELISSA. You are such a rock star. Let's read Greek together in glory. (Because in heaven, -I- will read it too!!!!!!!!!!!!)
I've no sister, excepting you all, because I have two brothers (both younger-rats!) However, I do have three girls and no boys (just nephews who I adore). I tell my girls they will need to get along with each other the sooner the better because it will be the longest (as in years) relationship they will have on this earth! My grandmother (she is 84) and her oldest sister (who is 94) still get together regularly and also talk on the phone every Sunday afternoon. Both my grandfather and my uncle are with Jesus, but those two ladies are still together! Thank Him daily that you girls are so close and that He has done such a work in both of you so that you can be! God Bless you Melissa, and Happy Birthday girlfriend!
I have a brother 8 years younger than me. We fought all the time ... especially when I would date and he was hiding in the back seat of whatever car the boy was driving to pick me up. My parents lived out in the country so it was a drive into town ... so he would have to spend the date with us! Oh the memories! We didn't get along until I moved away and went to college. Then the bond began. today apart from my husband, he is my best friend.
I love your post Amanda. And Happy Birthday Melissa.
Happy Birthday, Melissa! Thanks for sharing the tribute, Amanda. I have a bit of trivia for the inch taller comment, but your feet are bigger. Did you know that your foot length corresponds exactly to the length of your forearm? Stop and try it. Toes at your wrist and heel at the elbow! Bigger feet mean longer arms and better hugs for little sisters!!
Be blessed,
Dawn
Awwwww! Happy birthday, Melissa! There's nothing like sisterly love.
oh i wish i had had a sister. I am so thankful my girls have 2 each!!!
thanks for sharing and Happy Birthday Melissa!
We look forward to hearing more from you!
Leigh
I'm so glad to see the whole Moore family has a good sense of humor. You need one these days. What a cool tribute to your sister, she sounds like a very special Godly lady. Happy 25th birthday Melissa. What a blessing you are Amanda to write such an incredible thing for your sister.
Have an awesome week.
Sarah - Prayer Warrior
like what kind of bizarre names??? happy birthday!
Happy 25th Birthday Melissa!
I was just listening to one of your Mom's CDs and she says that she told you that you had "the heart of a lion" just like AJ said.
You are a strong one! Our ABBA is using you so! You and your sister are beautiful and talented and more importantly in love with the ONE who matters more than anything...as your Mama would say, "more than a hilla beans" ;-)
Your Sister and HIS daughter,
Teri
What a blessing to have each other!
Happy Birthday to you, Melissa and Happy Sister Day to you, Amanda.
Happiest of birthdays to you, Melissa. May you shine in the light of His love all your days! Jill
Hmmmm, just an observation...
12)She hates words with "p" in them.
and yet ....
15)She knows a thing or two about "p"erseverance.
just thinking maybe you should have used longsuffering!?!?!
I am of course j/k and absolutely adore the list! I will have to make one up for my 'longsuffering' little sister!!
Happy Birthday Melissa!!
Happy Birthday, Melissa.
Amanda,
This was such a fun post to read. To enjoy your humor and feel the love and respect. Plus I love lists. It really gave us a feel for who Melissa is.
I don't have a sister, so of course it made me wonder what it would be like if I did.
And I loved #3 - the Holy Scrips, #10 - about the same outfits (that is so cool), and #20 about her being taller and it not being fair - I agree!
So thanks for the fun, Amanda and happy birthday Melissa.
What a wonderful opportunity to let everyone know how much you love your little sister.
Amanda, I love that through maturity and the Holy Spirit you and Melissa have become so close. Sibling relationships are like no other...
I also think keeping the laughter in it makes it so much more fun!!
God is funny and loves to make us laugh and it is great when we can remember that. My oldest son and I got so tickeld at bedtime that my husband had to come in and tell us to settle down - love it!!
God bless,
Kim
Happy Birthday Melissa! Wonderful post Amanda! What a better place families would be if all siblings had a close relationship like you do.
Blessings,
Adrienne
P.S. Any update on the LPM event for the blog siestas in 2008?
Happy Belated Birthday Melissa!!
I loved this list.
My older sister and I are very close. We are only 13 months apart but she is OLDER than me. :o)
Beth, you all are such a sweet, funny family. You may be a freak show (trust me you are not the only freak show family, I should introduce you to my family) but you all are the cutest freaks! LOL!!
Have a blessed week and may God's protection cover you as you travel!!
Wow, what love for your sis. I love thinking how Beth may have been standing in doorway (while you were soaking your feet)thinking what wonderful girls you were with a heart full of love for you and a great big thank you to God for great children. I bet she stuck her feet in their with yall too didnt she? Beth was truly blessed, as were you gals.
Cyndi
The closeness and love between you and your sister is SO obvious! I envy close sister relationships. My one and only sibling is a sister almost ten years younger than me. We were never 'friends' until I moved out at 18. We still aren't close and never will be. We love each other but are at totally different places in life. I married the love of my life, a military man when I was 19. Been married for 15 years and have three children. She's always been single and a career gal. My husband and I move with the Navy and she's never left our hometown except for the occasional vacation. I love the Lord and found a relationship after growing up with only religion. She's yet to make that connection. Embrace the sisterhood and closeness!!
Ya'll are such a sweet and precious family. I have four children and my prayer is that they will have a relationship like you and your sister, not to mention your mom and dad. You guys really are a testimony to the greatness of God. When He is at the center of and the foundation of any family unit, He will be glorified and we will be satisfied.
Happy Birthday Melissa.
It is so wonderful to have such a relationship with your sister. My sister and I are close as well and my life would not be right with out her. It is truly a blessing and my life would not be the same with out her. Happy Birthday Melissa!!! Please tell us about the "iguana". would love to hear about that.
How sweet! It is so evident that you guys are full of God's love for each other!
Happy 25th Birthday Melissa. Amanda awesome that you love your sister that much.
Blessing
sue
AMANDA,
This is so beautiful, I too have a precious dear sister, who is also single (i'm married with children) and is an amazing aunt. What a beautiful tribue you did for her!!
Happy birthday Melissa!! Hope it was a wonderful one!
So, now that Missy's had a birthday, are y'all gonna let her post, too? Not sure if she's into blogging, but it we would love to hear from her again!
Amanda, what a sweet way to celebrate your sister's birthday. Happy 25th Birthday, Melissa!
Aren't sisters wonderful?! I have 2 sisters....I'm the middle one and as we age, we get closer and closer! Thank you for sharing about yours!
Happy Birthday Melissa!
Beth in NC
Tell Melissa she has a lot more options to rent a car now! I was so glad when I hit that mark.
Very sweet post. There's love, then there's sister love and that's some of the best love there is. Especially when you are grown and can appreciate each other even more.
I really loved this post. I laughed at the height/shoe size part. It made me think of how irritated my sister gets when someone asks who is older (or younger)....she is 32 and I am 36. So, I think she's with you on the "not fair" thing.
In all seriousnes, we have become so close as adults. In fact, she did for me one of the sweetest things anyone has ever done. A few years ago, I was facing a court date that was to end my 8 year marriage. I so desperately fought for this NOT to happen, and I was reeling. As it turned out, my court date was also the date for my sister's sonogram to determine the sex of her first-born child. She (and her husband) invited me to come with them and experience that wonderful moment rather than my ugly, heart-breaking alternative. She gave me the ultimate gift of trading places....gave me a beautiful memory instead of what seemed destined for one of my worst. I don't know if I've ever really communicated to her how much that meant to me, though I have tried. Sisters are such a precious gift.....Siestas, too. :)
Ellen
This is so awesome. The best part of being a sister is having a sister!!! Bless you two bunches.
Amanda,
I love the close sister relationship you share with Melissa. My three daughters are just as crazy and loving as you two. Never stop laughing and loving! Oh, and my youngest is 25 this fall....now I've got a list to make. Thanks for sharing with us.
I have 2 boys and 1 girl. I've felt like someone has been missing from our family for quite some time. I've even named HER. My youngest (the only girl) is 5 1/2 and I feel like there would be too much age gap. I so want my daughter to have a sister. Thank you for sharing how special it is to have one. Maybe I can convince my husband with your blog!!! God bless you!
I don't even know the "Moore" girls personally, but found myself nodding and laughing with each Rock Star Reason! I feel like you are all Rock Stars and that we are old friends. I tell my husband about the blog and refer to y'all like you're part of my family! I'm soooo looking forward to hanging out with y'all in heaven! Until then...
