Recovering from Surgery
Sometimes when the blog is quiet we start getting comments and emails asking if everything is okay. Usually we've just been quiet because life is happening and we haven't had a chance to write. This week has been a little different.
Let me say right up front that my mom is totally fine. We are praising God for that.
About six weeks ago it became apparent that Mom was headed for surgery. (I'm going to keep the details minimal at this time for her privacy.) Those six weeks were quite a journey for our family. Mom is a very strong woman and she lives life at a pace that makes my head spin. Seeing her physically weakened for the last six weeks by this health issue as well as by the back problems she's been having (the two are unrelated) has rocked me. It has definitely been an emotionally and spiritually challenging time.
Mom was admitted to the hospital for surgery early Monday morning. I was there with my dad, another couple who are my parents' closest friends, and two of my LPM sisters. Melissa, Colin and Curtis were in constant contact with us. Her surgery began at 8:30. We all sat in a waiting room and waited for news from the doctors on how she was doing. After several hours we finally got word that the surgery had gone well. There had been one complication that would require more time in the hospital than they'd originally thought, but otherwise she did beautifully.
Our friends went back to work and dad and I waited hours and hours and hours to finally be able to see Mom. When they finally let us into her room, Mom was in rough shape. She was having a reaction to either the anesthesia or the pain medicine and she was terribly nauseated. I've never seen anyone in my immediate family that sick in my life. Dad and I were shocked.
It was a very long first night in the hospital. We had hoped mom would wake up in better shape, but whatever was making her sick took a long time to leave her system. We had another long day battling nausea. By the next night, and especially by Wednesday morning, Mom was doing better.
She was very eager to eat something. Bless her heart, she hadn't eaten anything since Sunday at lunch and it was now Wednesday! She was allowed to try a liquid diet at first, then late in the afternoon she got to eat a baked potato. You would have thought she was eating the finest cuisine in all of Houston by the way her face lit up while she ate that little baked potato. It had nothing on it but salt and a tiny bit of butter.
That night we had some setbacks when the veins holding her IV's began collapsing. A specialist had to come in and help her out. We'd had a relatively great day and were hoping that she could go home on Thursday morning, so this setback was very discouraging. Some other weird issues happened simultaneously and we started wondering if a spiritual battle was taking place in our room. I started praying outloud, mom called on our LPM Village to pray, and we turned on worship music in our room. At that point I had no shame. If I made everyone think we were weirder than they originally thought, I did not care one bit! The Lord did bring us peace. Everything that had gone wrong was brought back under control.
The next morning Mom woke up with nausea again, but thankfully it was not so bad that it hindered her release from the hospital. The doctor came in at 5:30 a.m. and gave us the great news that she was going home! God bless doctors and their families for the crazy hours they have to work. We were in the car and heading home by 11:00 a.m. Praise His name!
After three nights in the hospital with mom, I was barely fit to drive the car, but we made it home. I'm sure I had an angel holding my eyelids open. My Aunt Sandra arrived soon after to stay at my parents' house and help Mom recover. At that point I went home to my babies and to my amazing husband who had been holding down the fort.
Annabeth was so sweet when I got her up from her nap that afternoon. She smiled so big and held onto me tightly when I walked her downstairs. It hadn't been very long since I'd seen her, but she already seemed bigger and her hair looked longer. Jackson played it cool with me until this morning. I woke up to his sweet little self giggling and climbing into my bed. He pulled the covers over him and snuggled up to me. I said, "Jacks, are you glad your mommy is here this morning?" He said, "Yeah." And that was that. He's such a little man.
I'm really attached to my mom right now and couldn't bear to stay away long. Annabeth and I took a few groceries over to her house this morning. It made her happy to see the baby for a few minutes, and vice versa. Mom's very tired and still having some pain and slight nausea, but she's on the mend. She's forbidden to turn on her computer for the next week and she's keeping her ringer off. Our LPM sisters are taking care of meals, which is a great blessing. There was a huge bowl of banana pudding in her fridge and I immediately recognized it as Kimberly Meyer's. Kimberly's banana pudding is famous around these parts. Let's just say it's a ministry in itself.
For those of you who attended the Deeper Still event in Oklahoma City, I want you to know how much it meant to my mom that you all prayed for her health. During the question and answer segment someone asked what Kay, Priscilla and Beth wanted for Christmas. My mom said she'd been dealing with back pain and would love to wake up on Christmas morning and realize the pain is gone. Kay and Priscilla suggested they stop right then and pray for her. None of you knew that my mom would fly home from that event and immediately have surgery, but Mom was greatly encouraged to have your prayers for her healing. She trusted that God knew what else she needed them for.
I "randomly" heard from a number of my friends over the last six weeks who had no idea what was going on. (We'd kept this very quiet.) They simply said they were thinking about our family and praying for us. I love how our Father works. It's such a reminder that when we can't get someone off our minds, we should pray for them!
I'm sure Bethie will want to write or talk about this in the future, but she asked me to go ahead and let you all know what was going on. The thought of writing in complete sentences is currently overwhelming to her.
Finally, if any of the amazing nurses and doctors who ministered to us happen to be reading this right now, I'd like to say thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you. We were blown away by your compassion, kindness and excellence. God bless each one of you.

I was concerned, too with the silent blog and then God put it on my heart that prayers were needed.
Dear Beth, I now lift up praise and thanksgiving that He has brought you home and pray for your continued recovery. May God bless you and keep you close in His embrace. May He give you strength and the joy of celebrating this glorious season with all those you love.
So glad to know what's going on. We love you guys and I will start praying now. Wish I could have started sooner. I can't help but believe that God has too many plans for her to stay down very long. :) Big hugs today!
I'm praying for all of you.

Praying- love you guys!
you are in my prayers...don't rush it!! rest you deserve it :)
Amanda,
Thanks for letting us know about your mom. I will join the many Siestas in praying for complete healing for Beth. I will especially be praying that her back pain will be completely gone by Christmas. I'm sure it will drive your mom crazy to be "unplugged" from everything for a while, but we totally understand! She has been SUCH a blessing to so many women over the years, I count it a privilege to return the favor in a small way by storming Heaven's gates for her healing. Get some much needed rest yourself, Amanda! These emotional times are EXHAUSTING! I know how difficult it is to see a normally strong parent weak and vulnerable. Praise God for His faithfulness to us! I will be keeping the whole Moore clan in my prayers! Sorry for the long post.
All my love and prayers,
Joan
I am so glad your mom is doing better. Praying for you all.
Debbie
Glad she is back home where she feels most comfortable! I'll be praying for speedy recovery and no more pain!!
And now I know why I have been burdened to pray for her this week. So much so that my 2YO saw her on TV this AM (Wed. with Beth DVR'd!) and pointed to the TV and said "it's Beff!"
We love you all so much! Know you are lifted high!!!
Praying for you all!
Bawling over here, too.
So happy Mama Siesta is doing well, will keep praying that her recovery is quick and complete. I think it is almost as hard to watch our loved ones go through trials as it is for that loved one to experience it.
God bless your sweet family. My family loves you!
Kristen

I am praying for you, dear Beth. It is so good to hear that you are on the mend. Praise the Lord for bringing you through this difficult time. Please take it easy and get some rest. You know your Siestas are praying for you BIG TIME!
Amanda, I am praying for you too and the family as you minister to your mom.
Love to all,
Mary
Amanda, thank you for taking the time to tell us about your family's ordeal this week. I had no idea that your Mom was dealing with another health issue, other than her back! Her stamina and endurance to travel, write and speak absolutely astound me. Please pass on lots of hugs and prayers from all of us siestas. We love your family and are praying for complete healing!!!
Amanda,
check your email.
Oh my, what a time you've all had. We'll continue praying, with a lot more direction now, that Beth will have complete healing with a lot of R & R! Amanda, I'm so glad you were able to be with her. What an awesome husband Curtis is to step in!
Keep us posted and know that we'll all be ready to celebrate with her in January!
Hugs, Bobbie

With tears of both gratitude for God's provision and tears of sorrow that you've suffered so much this week, Beth, I am praying for your healing in the days and weeks to come. You can count on the Body of Christ to support you just as much as you support us. May you know the depth of the Father's love for you in ways that astound you as you lie still in His presence. You being still is probably a miracle in and of itself, but give it a try.
Love, Cathy in North Carolina
I'll be fervently praying for your hurried recovery! A complete healing soon! And praying, too, for all of the family. You all have come to mean so much!
Joining in with prayers of others in agreement for physical healing and angel armies to confound the attack of the enemy against God's servant. Love to sweet sister Beth.
YOu did a good job keeping it quiet. You KNOW that we would all have been storming the throne on her behalf if we had known. And for you and your dad and Melissa as well.
Will beging praying now for a full and speedy recovery. Make her rest!! That is the only way to get back to normal. You too.
Thanks for letting the Siestas know. God bless you all.
Leah
I'm so glad you let us know something of what is going on with your mother. I am keeping Beth in my prayers. Please tell her to take it easy and not worry about anything. God bless your sweet family and your mother. She's such a trooper! Better try to get her to rest!
I'm so sorry she's been going through this! I will be praying for her and your family. It's so rough when one is sick in the family. But God is so good and faithful! May God bless you and your sweet family this Christmas season!
Praising Jesus for a sweet recovery. There is much spiritual battloing that goes on hospitals... Good job recognizing it! As a nurse, I am thankful that you are feeling better. It is such an honor to be present with individuals during such a vulnerable time. Praying for a quick recovery! Remeber to take your pain pills (they are your new best friend) and to take stool softeners (100 mg twice a day till the plumbing is working WELL!). Sorry, its the nurse in me...(c:
Praying for your sweet and precious Momma. Glad she is being cared for so lovingly. Thank you for the update. Praying for you too, Amanda. May she indeed wake up pain free on Christmas (or even sooner).
Praying for you Siestamama.....may you feel the presence of God wrapped around you like a warm comforter and may you feel His touch in a whole new way. Know how much you are loved and how many prayers are going up for you straight to the heart of Jesus.
Thank you God for being her surgeon and her recovery. Give her strength each day and REST. God, you told me one time, "you know how to fight (battle warfare)but you need to learn how to rest." which is another fighting style. When we rest in God, we way to the devil, MY GOD is fighting this one for me. I'm not gonna lift a finger except to praise Him and cheer Him on. I'm gonna pray about it ONCE and leave it in His more-than-capable hands. I'm not gonna spend my time of rest checking emails or catching up on phone calls...I'm going to R.E.S.T.
Love all of you gals!

Oh goodness. She is in my prayers for a better than brand new Beth! I'm so sorry she had to go through such a rough recovery in the beginning. May He hold you in His arms during this time!
Thank-you Amanda for the update. I have been praying especially for Beth in the last few weeks. It seems like the Lord kept putting her on my heart with the feeling that something was amiss (now I know why). And know that I will continue to pray not only for Beth but for all of you during this time of her recovery.
Praying for complete recovery and relief. I suffer from an auto immune/chronic pain disease. I struggle with nausea and swear by disolvable Zofran tablets that your doctor can write for. They are amazing. Not to high jack the blog but they are wonderful. I pray you will feel wrapped in God's comfort blanket lulling you to him.
Dear sisters in Christ; i myself have been very quiet and haven't been able to type any comments on the blog due to suffering. Actually the fight for my life!! I too have been ROCKED to my very core. Without going into to much detail; i usually get maybe 1 hr. of sleep a night and have very powerful and serious complications as a result. I try to check in and read the post's but most of the time it's not possible for me.I'm thankful to our Lord Jesus for your Mom and for her recovery. May he use this "time" for his glory and honor.
I'm praying for complete healing and that her back pain will be gone by Christmas. I truly hope she feels better very soon.
Amanda, what a blessing you are to your mom. You and the kids are good medicine for her.
Praying so very hard for you all.
You all have been on my heart too with it so quiet on here. I have been praying, just wasn't sure what for..but knew He knew.
Amanda, you made me smile at the thought of you turning on that worship music and praying out loud in your mom's room.
Love in Christ,
Michelle
Precious Beth, Keith, Amanda, Curtis, Jackson, Annabeth, Melissa and Collin,
I too had wondered about why the blog had been so quiet and just thought perhaps it was trying to get the end of the year ministries taken care of.
Bless your hearts. Surgery is a difficult situation even when all goes well and sweet Beth had those complications. I am so, so sorry she had such a rough go, but I KNOW the Lord will turn this for good and you will all be able to use this to HIS glory which is your greatest desire. I join the many others who are praying for your family and pray that as we celebrate our Savior's birth that daily Beth will gain strength and by Christmas EVE be pain free in all ways.
You are a blessing to us, even in your sufferings.
Oh precious Mama Bethie! I'm so glad you are recovering, you are so special to me!!
Sending you much love and prayers right this very minute (not later when I forget)
Sasha
Heavenly Father, we ask for complete healing for Beth. Lord, surround her with your heavenly angels. Ease any pain that she is in. Bring her comfort through Your Word and the people surrounding her. Protect her and her dear sweet family. She is such a blessing to everyone that she teaches. Thank you for the wisdom and desire to share all she can about you with all of us! How grateful and blessed I am to learn from her. Give her peace and complete healing. In Jesus' most precious and holy name, Amen. May God bless and keep you Beth!
Beth and Family,
I am praying for a speedy recovery. God's grace and healing.
Blessings and Love,
Sharon
As one recovering from surgery just a couple months ago, my heart goes out to you. You are in my prayers, Beth.
Amanda,
I will be praying for your Mom's complete healing and restoration as well as lifting the rest of your family up in prayer as well. God has used her Bible studies to dramatically change my life and although I have never met her I would walk across glass on her behalf! Please know I will be praying until I read she is completely restored.
Susan
Agreeing with you and others in prayer for Beth's healing.

Praying for Beth and her family.
I believe I am speaking for my siestas when I say that we honor your family's need and right for privacy, but you have made us such a part of your lives that we carry a burden for all of you. It is a privilege to pray for all of you.
Terri
Praying for all of you!
I Pray that the Lord will reach down and touch Beth in such a mighty way! I praise Him for keeping His hand upon her during surgery and recovery.
Beth - you are so special and I just thank you so much for all you have done through Christ for me! I am praying for you fervently.
My daughter Melissa was in the hospital(ICU) for a week right after Thanksgiving battling Malaria that she had gotten on her mission trip to Africa. It had settled in her liver and she was very ill. She is a miracle and I just praise GOd for that as well!
I am praising God for both of you now!
In His Grip,
Beth

I was in Oklahoma City and I've spent the week rewriting/meditating on notes from Beth/Priscilla/Kay. Yes, we did pray for her there and it was a blessing to participate in that moment. My prayers will continue to be with you ALL.

I rarely cry but the thought of our sweet Beth in all that pain. I am so sorry she had to go through that. Love you and will be lifting you up. And tell the banana pudding lady I will pay to have some of that shipped my way
Thank you for letting us know...I will be praying for God's healing hands to be on Beth, for complete and quick healing, and for her to feel God's presence surrounding her. May He keep her in His mighty grip.

And here I was getting upset that the blog had been blank for so many days, shame on me. Yesterday God put on my heart that you all needed prayer. Now I know why He put that on my heart. You never know who needs prayer you just obey what He tells you and let Him do the rest. I will continue with prayers for you all. Healing and rest for Beth. And peace for the rest of you. Thank you for all you do
Thank you for sharing. I was also concerned all week with the extremely quiet blog. The Lord placed your family and the entire LPM Ministry on my heart this week.
Thank you again for letting the siestas into your family a little, and thank you for always loving and encouraging us. I will be praying for a complete healing, and God's total peace to reign in your families homes.
All My Love, Kim
I will be praying for Beth and all of you. I know how difficult this is on the whole family. My mom comes out of anethesia that same way every time. She always says that it is worse than the surgery itself. Thanks for the update!
I'll be praying for her. She's pretty precious to all of us, too.
Give her my love and wishes for a
complete recovery, and tell her to take care of herself for a change instead of others. Take care of
yourself, too, Amanda.
Praying for all of you. I love you Beth Moore.
Father,
We intercede for our precious Bible study teacher. You know her needs - relief from pain, nausea and aching back. We stand in the gap for her and her family. We ask for healing. Thank You for hearing our prayers.
In Jesus Name,
Amen
I cried reading this, Amanda. I am so grateful for you having taken care of our Mom. I love you so...
You all are in my thoughts and prayer!
I had signed up a few months ago to pray on Weds.for Beth. I have to admit that a few weeks I'd forgotten but this week as I was writing out Christmas Card, I wrote one to you all and God laid on my heart to pray for Beth wow the timing our God is awesome. I often pray for your folks marriage as well as the teaching, but God laid on my heart protection for Beth,I thought that was a little different, but maybe just the right thing. My prayers will continue. gentle hugs Erin
Praying for Beth and your family's strength during this time of healing! Please give her a hug from the Siestas!
I was at Deeper Still last weekend, and I didn't think she looked like herself. We prayed earnestly and fervently for her healing that day, and I'm so thankful that God answered those prayers, at least in part!
I am praying for her.
I'm with Holly. I have found myself praying for you all lately at rather unexpected times the last couple of weeks. Will continue to pray for healing and rest - physically, spiritually, emotionally.
Thank you, Jehovah Rapha, that you, in Jesus name, heal. Thank you for your mercies and grace extended to Beth and her family. I praise you as your hand is holding up Beth and her family at this time...You, O God, are God and there is none other.
Dear Beth,
One of my memory verses is THE LORD WILL FIGHT FOR YOU..YOU NEED ONLY TO BE STILL. I know that stillness is not your nature. Wish I had half your energy but please be still and rest and let the Lord and your Siestas cover you with prayer. We love you and your family so much. Praying for complete physical healing. And thank you Amanda for a "shout out" to the medical staff. As an RN I feel called by God to use the gifts He has given me to help patients and I know the nurses and doctors who attended your mom appreciate your kind words.
See you in January! Love, Linda

Goodness. What a shock to read this post. Beth and Co. - you will so be in my prayers. Sending you lots of hugs, love, prayers, and chicken soup (hope that's on the menu) ~ Warm in Alaska.
(Don't worry. Actual chicken soup will not be showing up on your doorstep. I guess I'm just sending you Virtual Chicken Soup, but with lots of love).
I will certainly be lifting our sweet Siesta Mama up in prayer now. I know how it feels to be so nauseated that you can barely move. It is the worst. I will pray for your complete healing, from the surgery, the nausea and also for your back. I have been praying the same healing for my own amazing pastor's wife, and I will lift you up right along side of her. Stay well, Beth. And Amanda, keep up the awesome "daughtering". I often fill that role too, and I know the strain it causes. You will be in my prayers also!
Praying for healing.
Bless you all,
Tracy

Joining you all in prayer for your family!
With love!
Praise God for equipping the right people, in the right place, at the right time (both medically and spiritually). Not much can both stretch and build one's faith more quickly than a shocking medical issue and the simultaneous provision of God. That's kind of been on my mind lately.
4 years ago yesterday began my 5 days in the hospital due to the very complicated and miraculous delivery of my daughter. When God awakens people to pray when they have no idea what is going on... when the puzzle pieces for things to work out are exactly in place when they normally would not be... when the medical staff pulls through professionally and compassionately and the nurses proclaim that if they didn't believe in miracles before they do now... it is such an incredible testimony of God's faithfulness. For awhile you feel as if you are a kindred spirit to those strangers whom God enabled to save your life and that of your loved one. You think about how, if you had lived so many years ago, the outcome would have been totally different, but God chose you for this time and this place. Unless you experience it, it is hard to explain. For a moment it feels as if maybe you get a glimpse of loving and appreciating PEOPLE how God sees them. And you feel so humbled and unworthy that God would choose to bless you in such ways. At least that's how it worked for me.
All that to say, God is very good. And I'm so glad he likes to keep reminding me :-)
Praying for your sweet mom and the fam. Get some sweet Jesus rest.
It's hard when our mommas hurt. I'm glad she's okay. Try to rest up and love on your babies. Hope you all have a Merry Christmas.
Beth and dear family, you all are in my prayers. Hope you feel better soon Sweet thing Beth!!
Missed this blog so very much the past few days.........even a few days with no post seem much longer because they are always such a lift to my day! So sorry to hear about Beth's reactions post-surgery and am praying for her to have a full, speedy recovery. Thanks, Amanda, for filling us in on what's been going on. I love the idea of worship music in the hospital room! I know God was smiling over you as the enemy was completely ignored and defeated!
Praying for everyone,
Glad surgery went well and you are home recovering. Praying that you will be back up and moving soon. But, take your time and don't over do. Just know we are all praying for you and your dear family.
Love,
Jan
Prayin' for MS. Bethie's healing and for rest and comfort during this season of "expectation"...God is good...
Sorry to hear that things went roughly for you. Trusting Jesus to complete your healing.
Rest hard while you can b/c we know you will hit the ground running as soon as you're allowed.
Praying for complete healing, rest and peace to all.
Love,
Maggie
I'll be praying for all of you! Love you all so dearly!
Please know that we will be praying for your entire family. When one is sick, it affects the entire family.
I also want to thank you and your family for living your lives so openly. It is a blessing to see faith in action.
However, please don't feel you need to share everything-- always. It's okay to keep things private. A sabbath from public life occasionally will be refreshing and restorative.
We love you all like crazy and want only what is best for all of you. Give yourselves the time and space you need. We'll still be here when you get back.
I am praying over the family. Blessings of peace and healing. Much love from Colorado!
I'm surprised to read this but glad to hear she's home. I'll definately be praying for all of you. God Bless.
I too, had been wondering if anything was wrong cuz we hadn't heard from you guys in so long. I prayed that is was because you were off having a girl's outing in some tropical place. I'm sorry it was for this reason. I do know that you must protect privacy of your family, but you can always ask us to pray without giving details.... I know you know that, Amanda. It's just that we love you guys and there isn't anything that we would love more than to support you and your family, than by praying for you.
Praying for speedy and complete healing from the great Physician! Tell Beth we love her!

God has lead me to claim a verse from my index cards for 2009:
I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security.
Jer 33:6
Much love to Beth.
Praying for a complete and speedy recovery -- from the surgery and for Mama Beth's back issues!
Jennifer - Texarkana, AR
Many prayers for Beth and the entire family!!! Having recently gone through surgery myself, I can understand. Tell Beth to be kind to herself and allow her body the time it needs to heal...it took me longer than I thought, but God was so good and healed me completely, and I know it will be the same for Beth. Thank you so much for letting us all know. May each of you enjoy all the special blessings of this glorious season! Take care and we look forward to seeing you in January!
Dana
Miss Beth. Bless you, and I'm praying. And that goes for the whole family, too.
Love, Taylor
Beth and I can be recovering buddies as I am recovering from surgery this week also. I had a total hysterectomy due to the fact that I was diagnosed with breast cancer last year at the age of 30. I have had to deal with some nausea post-op too, and I'm telling you there is nothing worse. I will keep your mom and your whole family in my prayers as we all recover from our procedures. I'm BELIEVING GOD that we will all be healed and better than ever! Thank you for sharing.
Dear Beth
Without any indication, I, who have never left a message on your blog site, prayed this very week for you. I simply asked God to give you whatever you were needing this week. Period, end of story. You have bless me so much and I just felt a strong desire to pray for you.
God is amazing. Get well soon. We need you and love you!
When I started reading this I thought it was my story!! I just had surgery on Nov 24th. I am doing well, but am amazed how long it takes to get your energy back!! She is gonna have to take it easy for a while!! I will be praying for her whole and complete recovery! I hope she continues to be a good patient! She's gonna have to follow the rules so she heals the best she can! Much love to all of you and hope you have a Blessed Christmas!
Praying for you all. I won't go into details but I was just thinking about Beth tonight...in her funny self way. I hope she returns to that self soon...and comes out of this knowing God even more and reflecting her Savior more than ever.
Much love to you all.

Please tell your mom that we are praying for her up in Michigan, too. Amanda, you are such a good daughter! Thank you! When I read this I couldn't help but think this should have been "breaking news" on t.v. instead of some of the other stuff that has taken over these past couple of weeks (if you know what I mean)! I just love being a part of this family!
Love to you all,
Angie xoxo
Praying and thanking God for bringing Mama Beth through.
Thanks Amanda for filling us in with what you can...I am praying for your sweet Mom right now and for your whole family. I know you must be worried, but you have many of us who love your family and your ministry and are privileged to hold you up in prayer. Grace and peace...
Praying for you all. I won't go into details but I was just thinking about Beth tonight...in her funny self way. Beth you'll never know all the ways God has and continues to use you. Praise Him. I hope you return to your funny self soon...and come out of this knowing God even more and reflecting your Savior more than ever.
Much love to you all.

Amanda and Beth,

Amanda, cant imagine watching my mom go through that...praying for rest for you and grace as you help your mom and run your house. Beth, praying for complete, quick healing and restoration having to do with this surgery and your back. Love to you both....

Praying for you all! Praying my last memory verse for you... "He gives strength to the weary and to him who lacks might, He increases power." Isaiah 40:29

I am praying for healing & strength for Beth. So sorry that the immediate recovery was so hard on her! I know that it was hard for those family members close by to watch, unable to ease her discomfort... and hard for Melissa not to be there... I will keep you all in prayer.
Some *much deserved* R&R - in addition to mending... will do our beloved Beth Moore some good.
Thank you Girls for updating us, but if you don't get to it - don't worry - we will be here whenever you all can make it back. :)
Much love & prayers...
Amaris
Amanda, Please give your mom our love. I'm glad she is doing better but I also understand how painfully slow recovery from surgery can be. Bless her heart. We love her and all of you. You take care, girl, don't let the winter illnesses get to you because you get tired out. Get some rest and eat right. Sorry. I'm a mama too!
Love,
Kay
Praying for complete healing, starting with the nausea and pain!
I'm going through the Esther study right now & will tell you like you told us on the video (& like I've been telling myself & my sweet husband all week) "HE'S WORKING IT OUT!"
love
Hey, Amanda! I will keep your mom and all the rest of you in my prayers! I pray for healing for your mom and peace for all of you, and above all, that you will all feel God's presence in this situation. Love you all!
Praying for you.
Thanks for the update. God is so great and I know that he is holding Beth in His arms. Heal her quickly God.
My sister suffered from nausea coming out of her surgeries and the recovery nurses taught her to take a sterile alcohol wipe(in a pinch use one of those handi-wipes from Chickfila) and drape it over the bridge of your nose till it dries out. Weird but works. Adding prayers!
Beth~to me you are that stronger than strong woman I've grown to love so much...to admire...to cry with and to laugh with (just watched Esther lesson 2 DVD :)...to respect. I'm so sad you have been so sick~
I know you are human...but I forget sometimes.
I'm praying that you'll feel better soon and be blessed during this time of "quiet."
love~Traci
Thank you for sharing such a private time. Beth you are in my prayers for a quick and complete recovery. My prayers are for you all to have peace, strength and to know how very close our Savior is with you all.
I love you all <3
Praying, Beth. I remember your words to me and now I whisper them back to you: He loves you SO! Rest, my friend. Love, Annette
What a joy and an honor to have been able to pray for you at the Deeper Still event in OKC. More prayers for strength and healing and just resting in your faith.
Thanking God for the good work God is doing and will continue to do in and through your life.
Much love from Oklahoma!
Many blessings and even more prayers for a quick and healthy recovery. Much love!
I am so glad to hear she is on the mend. I was in Springfield for Living Proof Live and interestingly have since felt compelled to pray specifically for her health! I will continue! Bless you, bless you, bless you all! :)
Yes, the Lord put this on my heart and I
pray in the name of Jesus that all spiritual
attack be gone.

Praying for peace and an incredible Holy Spirit filled recovery --- praying for special moments.
amen! sounds like yall need to be reminded of the louie giglio message on laminin:) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_e4zgJXPpI4
Just know how much we love you, Beth, and your family. Thank you, Amanda, for keeping a prayerful, watchful eye on your Mama throughout her hospital stay. I know your Daddy was there too. I am praying for each of you and that you, Beth, experience a complete recovery with no more setbacks or complications. How is the back pain? I pray that is gone too. I am glad you have been put on a computer "fast"! Enjoy those quiet, uninterupted moments with the Lord and your family. WE love you dearly!
I am praying for you sweet sister.
I forgot to say that my daughter was at the Oklahoma Deeper Still with her dear friend. My daughter said it was an amazing weekend. She coaches boy's basketball and knew that she would have to miss hearing one of the speakers and didn't know which it would be. Her friend texted her from the arena and told her she wouldn't miss Beth, so she was so excited! She didn't want to miss any of them, but she really didn't want to miss Beth. Anyway, she called me right away to say how in one category, Beth reminds her so much of me. What a sweet compliment to hear from my little firstborn living so far away. However, we will both be in Houston reciting our verses to whomever will listen. This has been an amazing year for us and we thank the Lord that Beth challenged us to more memorization of His word. I will do it again in 2010 (hey, that rhymes!) May you all savor the next 2 weeks as you prepare hearts and minds for His birth.
Praying for the LORD's healing hand to be on you!
The first verse I wrote down in my spiral to memorize in 2009 was,
"Forget the former things. Do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing. Now it springs up. Do you not percive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland. " Isaiah 43: 18-19.
Isn't that awesome? I hope it brings you much joy as you recover. We are praying for you!
Goodness! We love you all the Moores, Jones, Fitzpatricks & LPM staff - praying for you all and for a complete recovery.
Oh, sweet Mama Beth.:(
I am praying for her complete healing and renewed strength!
Blessing to you all!
Love,
Suzi
Amanda, I was in Oklahoma City and on the front row at Deeper Still. We did pray for your mom. Please tell her that we love, love, love her! Praying for a quick recovery! Love you guys,
Susan
All you Moores will be in my prayers - thanks for sharing, Amanda.

Strange relationship that we have because it hurts me when y'all hurt. You have poured so much into my life that you are family to me even though you don't know me. I know when what part of the body suffers we all suffer.
You will never ever know this side of heaven what you all have meant to me. Amanda, you have encouraged me in my mothering to also press forward with ministry. Also, I opened my mailbox to find 3 cards today from my siestas whom I have met in person and would never have the priveledge of knowing were it not for God manipulating circumstances and relastionships through this blog. I had a real need fo these people in my life. I love Jesus more because of you guys!
Melissa has encouraged me in my walk with Christ to dig deeper to know Him.
And well my man is a hunter a lot like your dad and through having TONS of time to myself with his hunting adventures I have learned what it means to be able to say with all that is within me...the Lord is my husband.
And sweet mama Beth! What can I say? Were it not for the grace of God using every single bible study some of them multiple times...I.DO.NOT.KNOW.WHERE.I.WOULD.BE. I just cry as I type this. You have turned back and strengthed the brethren....thousands and thousands of us. Your enthusiam and love for Christ seriously wakes me up and makes me want to love Jesus all the more. I kid you not...I bought breaking free right off of the truck...they had to even check it in for me before they could sell it. Well, I was really tired the other night and needed some rest and thought man I want to watch a dvd but it will flat out wake me up and make me want to run a mile for Jesus! LOL
Sorry for the novel but I am praying and I love you all!! I couldn't even complete my Christmas card list without sending LPM a card you have meant so much!! Love jenny hope
Sweet Jesus...our One and Only- I truly just call out to your mercy seat and ask for sweet loving mercy on our precious servant Beth. God please heal her quickly. Father I pray that even on medication you would minister to her spirit and fellowship with her even while she is being made to ly down in green pastures. Lord, she is so selfless and I thank you for that. She brings glory to your name and I praise you for this Titus woman of faith. I was even wondering Lord how she was going to have the time in all of her schedule to stop to have surgery and take care of her back or her knee that she talked about in the Inheritance. God, please relieve her pain and as she has prayed for us let us not give up in praying for her or her family. God please continue to consume her with a holy fire, passion, and love for You. Thank you Father for your servants! Thank you! In Jesus sweet name.
Praise God for such a powerful meeting in Oklahoma City. I have been busy praying for my friend (who came to OKC DS) whose grandson is in the hospital with a mysterious problem. We got a message during the meeting and it progressed from there. Please join me in prayer for Bennett, 1 year old, Ragan, mom and Jeri, grandma. Thank You! Thank you, Beth for letting Jesus use you. I hope you can enjoy your rest.
God, our Father...You CAN heal Beth!! Okay now...we're waiting with anxious anticipation to see You work!! You'll need to work fast...Beth runs fast!!!
Let her know that we love her and rejoice that she is on the mend! The Lord brought her to my mind a couple of times this week, and I said prayers for her, of course not knowing what she needed prayers for, but I am so glad that our God lays these things on our hearts!! Love, peace and rest for all of you!
Dear Amanda and Bethie, as you so lovingly call your mom,God is her great physican, and her healing is in His Wings, may she and yours be deeply comforted thru Him, who makes the blind to see, and yes, the lame to walk, I know how serious such a surgery can be, and with angels surrounding Beth and all of you, every petition was heard, and answered prayer was done,of course God is healing her,and of course He calls into being those things which be not as tho they were.....I am spending extra time interceding for Beth and all of you, rest in Him, know His Peace that passes all understanding, lean upon Him, he is what? As Beth says in her poem? He is strong enough to carry her, and big enough to handle it all for her and yours, Love you with His everlasting love, Peace with Angels on the Wing. Susie xoxoxoox
God is bigger than any back problem or medical condition!
For some reason and now I know it was God, I had our Mom on my heart everyday recently....mainly wondering how she kept the pace and stayed so fresh....and beautiful....
Sending a hug and wanting her to know that she is loved more than she will EVER know.....
I don't usually comment on here but...
Mrs. Beth - I'm praying for you. For healing in your back and from you surgery. I watched my mom live with back pain for a long time until one night at church, when after many, many prayers, I watch God heal her. I saw it in her face as the pain slowly went away. God is so good.
Amanda - I'm praying for you strength to keep you, and the rest of your family, going through this. I'm glad people are helping you. In the past 16 months my immediate family has had 4 major surgeries. Watching a family member sick, especially when they are usually so strong, is very difficult. Also, you have two of the most adorable children.
May God bless all of you.
In my prayers too...God is the Great Physician! Rest and recoup! We all love you, Beth!!!
I'm praying for your mom & the whole family! Thank God for wonderful physicians! I pray that the Great Physician will heal her body. I agree that your mom needs to stay away from the computer and relax & recover (and be pampered)!!
Have been praying for Beth's health since Springfield, God is amazing what He lays on our heart isnt He?? Will now pray specifically for healing and restoration. Love to you all!
We will be praying for our siesta momma!!! I know what you mean about seeing your parent being sick. My dad was diagnosed with stage 4 gastric cancer and we walked that road for a year then he went home to be with the Lord. Hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life and now learning to live without him is so hard as well!!! Ya'll are in our prayers!
Crissy
Beth and family, I am so sorry for these past events, but our God is bigger and He will help you overcome. I am praying for you all as you journey through this illness and recovery. I wish I could come and be your private duty nurse Beth but it sounds like you are more than covered by all your support.
Feel the love from all of us through our prayers!!
In His Graces~Pamela
Wow girl, you have a lot on your plate. Praying for you and the family, praying speedy recover for you Mom so you can all enjoy Christmas with a special blessing this year.
Praying for healing, rest, and peace for your family.
I am so sorry and will certainly be praying for Beth. I know some of the feelings you are experiencing as my 12 year old son goes into the hospital on Monday (12/14) to have steel bars put in his chest. The bars will pull the sternum away from his heart (which it is pushing on). How I long for the day when we have our perfected, resurrected bodies! Be blessed.

Praying for all of you . . .
I'm one of those who never posts a comment but wanted to say how sorry I am Beth and all of you are having to go through all this. I'll be praying for full restoration and healing. But I'm also praying that the Body of Christ would continue to rally around you all and just bless your socks off with love and compassion.
