What a Week!

My Dear, Dear Siestas,
I am in the airplane on my way home from breathtaking New England with a whirlwind-week wrapped up in the Name of Jesus. He alone knows how much your prayers carried us. Never do I ever take intercession lightly. It takes time, concentration, and labor. I am humbly mindful that the requests we throw out to you here are added to a monumentally long list of your own. THANK YOU.

You’re already up to date on the first three days of our tour but I gave you my word I’d keep you up on the whole week. Praise His merciful, faithful Name, God was unsparing in His Presence among us in both Delaware and Connecticut. The arena on the campus where we met in Delaware was not only full to the brim with people but full of passion for the Lord Jesus. Their praise and worship rocked the whole house. I loved them to pieces and God granted us an altar time that night that I will never forget as long as I live. Our last night was in beautiful Hartford, Connecticut and I was deeply moved that God had us end this ten-year season of Living Proof Live in a church. That’s where we started these events, stayed for a long time, and where we will no-doubt (joyfully and obediently, I pray) return. Make no mistake. Every time we meet in an arena or civic center, we gather as His CHURCH and He graces it as such but it was wonderful to be back in a lovely sanctuary where God is praised week in and week out. We didn’t have to follow up something like ACDC if you get my drift. We also had a powerful altar time there last night and I can only imagine how God esteemed the many tears that stained the carpet.

After we concluded (late!) last night, LifeWay threw all us team members a surprise party. We had so much fun. Travis and I received three gifts that we will each treasure the rest of our sanguine lives. We were given framed maps of the United States will flag-pins in all 50 states identifying the city and the year we had the chance to serve there. I’ve got to preface the next gift we received with a story. Trav and I were saying at the party how much we wished we had a photo journey of the events in an album. We called over our dear Rich, our photographer extraordinaire, and asked him if he’d put together such a thing for us (as only he could do, creative as he is). We told him we didn’t even want a brother-in-law deal. We’d pay him full price for his labor. He promised he would. And fifteen minutes later he was called forward to do his part at our gathering and with tears in his eyes, he pulled two gorgeous, professionally crafted hard-back books out for us. The cover was a picture of one of the largest LPL events we’ve ever been charged by God to do. It was at Philips Arena (with CeCe!) in Atlanta, Georgia and the sight of that place filled to the brim is almost unbearable. The title beneath it is, “Living Proof Live: A Photographic History.” And, yes, by our very own LPL historian, Rich Kalonick. It is SLAYING. And, oh, Lord have mercy, the hair styles. And, if you don’t mind me saying (he will), not just mine. Trav’s hair has been through some seasons, too. But he is consistently the cutest thing for the whole ten years! I, on the other hand, have decided, big as it is, my hair looks better longer and blonder than shorter and darker. So deal with it. And, really, I should have gotten a nose job along the way. I used to want one but by the time I had the money to pay for it, I didn’t care anymore. As I look at the pictures, perhaps I should have cared more. (TEASING, GIRLS!) But that’s all beside the point. The point is, it captures a journey of God’s faithfulness amid frail but seeking people. I love every single page of it but my favorite parts of all are shots of the participants in varying states of praise and study, laughter and tears. Man, I am so blessed to be able to minister to women!! You just really get into it. AND, my other favorites are the group pictures of our entire team: tech guys, sound guys, light guys, graphics guys, event girls, Trav and the praise team, and, okay, yours truly. (When they’ve taken a picture without me, I always love to say, “I love it! But there’s something missing. I can’t quite put my finger on it.”) You cannot imagine the diversity of people and personality God has teamed-up at these events and we have grown into family. I am so thankful for them.

Our third gift was a blast-of-a-video compiled by our dear friend (and team member) Stephen Proctor. He’d compiled all sorts of greetings from team members and participants and a few special guests. Many of the shots were hilarious. I nearly died when it came to the part he shot of the team at an airport. He’d taken them into the nursing room (it was empty, praise You, Lord) to video them so it would be quieter. You can imagine most of them were too flustered with the environment to concentrate on their greetings. The video is complete with bloopers and you’d best run to the ladies’ room before you watch them. Other parts of the video made me do what I HATE to do in public: the ugly cry. Man, I hate that. Nobody looks cute doing that. The three gifts were the absolute best-possible ways to document and celebrate a decade of ministry. As LifeWay Vice President John Kramp so aptly put it, we don’t know where God will take us in the years to come – nor how! – but today we hold up a stone of Ebenezer and proclaim, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.” He alone did it. He alone gets the glory. He alone decides where it goes from here. Not one of us would dare share one single success with Him. I’d be a wreck without Him.

I want to tell you one last thing I’m taking home with me from New England. My biggest loss – and it’s a BIG ONE – on the road is that I often don’t get to know any of the women personally. For this season of time, my one-on-one mentoring is done with serious concentration and calling toward my own daughters. They are the dearest ministry I have. Most of what I’m called to do otherwise this season is in a group setting. I’m so thankful for it and I can read a number of things from faces but I always wish I’d had the privilege of hearing their stories. One group of city coordinators sent me home this week with a very well-done photo album of their pictures, personal stories with Jesus, and their journeys over the last year as they worked toward their event. When I tell you I pored over it a little while ago on this plane ride and sobbed, I’m not exaggerating. It was as if we’d sat in a circle over a strong cup of fresh Starbucks and shared face-to-face. So many things struck me, some of which I’ve already written back in a letter to them, but one thing I feel compelled to share with you because I respect the same thing in so many of our bloggers. Many of them are living the Jesus-life faithfully OUTSIDE A SPOTLIGHT where they’d more often be affirmed and in the places where it counts more than anything. Where, as my people would say, the rubber meets the road. Right there in their communities, their school systems, amid hectic schedules of carpool and what on earth to cook for supper. Serving their churches, many of which are very small. Some of which lack a little spark. Many of them don’t have a sprawling LifeWay Christian Store near the neighborhood mall nor do they have a Christian concert every other weekend like we have in the Bible Belt.

One NE sister wrote me and said their beautiful city only has one Christian radio station and it’s mostly talk radio. Many of you could say the same thing. Numbers of you live in apathetic communities that just don’t give a rat’s tail about church or Christianity. Others live in very intellectual communities that look down on Christians like they’re ignorant and gullible. And yet there you are. Doing the thing. And doing it faithfully. Getting down on your knees at some point every day. Reading the Scriptures. Asking God to help you know Him. Living it out in your homes (is there any harder charge?) and in your work place and communities and finding yourselves wounded and wondering from time-to-time if God knows you’re alive. There is no such thing as serving in obscurity when you belong to Jesus. He is attentive to your labor. He is attentive to your CRY. IT MATTERS.

Sweet Thing, there is no one on Earth God notices more than you. He knows that the atmosphere He’s entrusted to you is not the easiest place on the planet to serve and, yet, day in and day out He sees you doing the thing. He knew you would. That’s why you’re there. He didn’t bother entrusting it to a light-weight. He knows you may go weeks between true soul-encouragements. Thank goodness we have the example of the man after God’s own heart, who, in 1 Samuel 30:6, was surrounded by bitter people who couldn’t see past their own problems to regard how he’d tried to help them. There, we’re told that David encouraged himself in the Lord. Yep, you can do that. When not one single soul bothers to encourage you, you can just go right to the Lord and encourage yourself. How ‘bout that? Speak to your own insides and say, “Why so downcast, oh, my soul? Why so disturbed within me. Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God!” As alone as you may feel, every time you praise Him, some ten-thousand angels jump in the chorus with you and your song becomes a symphony.

Stay faithful, Darling One. STAY FAITHFUL! Every ounce of your effort and every drop of sacrifice are poured like anointing oil on the feet of Jesus.

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.” Psalm 32:8

OK...now you've finally made me cry! This is the post that I needed to read this afternoon. This part right here is what caused the water works behind my eyes to let loose: "As alone as you may feel, every time you praise Him, some ten-thousand angels jump in the chorus with you and your song becomes a symphony.

Stay faithful, Darling One. STAY FAITHFUL! Every ounce of your effort and every drop of sacrifice are poured like anointing oil on the feet of Jesus."

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.” Psalm 32:8

Thank you for mentoring me through life. Even though we do not know each other face to face...we know each other spirit to spirit.

I am so glad you have been around ministering for the last 10 years. I have attempted various Bible studies in the last 10 years-but I can ALWAYS finish a study with Beth Moore as the author. A year ago I found out I was pregnant (this is a total miracle due to some major fertility issues) unfortuately just 11 short weeks later, we lost our precious miracle. I was angry and bitter. I shut out God out of many parts of my heart for about 8 months. I have finally started to heal. I will always carry some sadness for this loss, but the anger and bitterness is gone. This transformation would not have happened without "The Patriarchs" study. I am beginning week 6 and have learned so much. The Lord has begun answering prayers and teaching me lessons in different venues which come full circle. I know that you hear it all the time, but the LORD has made a huge imprint on my life through your mouth (and hair!) Blessings as you are able to go home to Houston and be in your church worshiping with your family!

I love ya ma'am. You inspire me so much!! I have my first "speaking engagement" the first weekend in November at a Ladies Retreat in Nov, where last year I surrended my heart to Jesus. How awesome is it, that last year I was yearning for Him.. .and this year I get to speak on His behalf?!

I'm honored, I think it's fun too.. because I know what you mean when you get excited for the Lord... I get so excited, I can barely stand it. It's going to be Awesome! He's Awesome!

Oh my - that post just sang songs to my parched soul!! I live in Pittsburgh - with only one Christian station - and only talk. And for years, I was in a church that wasn't much for community or sharpening one another. But God heard my cry. And now my newly believing husband and I belong to a church connected with the SBC as a church plant and thanks to you - I AM TOTALLY PREPARED TO LIVE OUT LOUD!!! ON MY KNEES AND WITH A SONG ON LIPS AND HANDS IN THE AIR!! Thanks so much for the love, Beth. Safe travels. In Jesus.

I was sitting here reading this just bawling my eyes out in that 'ugly cry' way you were talking about! :)
This spoke right to me! I work in an environment where I feel like an outsider most of the time, and to hear you describing God's viewing of me 'sticking it out' for Him and His glory just got to me. What an awesome reminder that when we work for His glory, we're rewarded in many ways even if most are unseen.
Glad you had such an awesome tip! God has done imeasurable things through you and your team...you've changed lives sister! So glad to hear they captured it for ya!

Beth: Thank you, sweet sister. Your words resonate that your heart is full to overflowing. I am so thankful you told us about your 3 special gifts and I know you will treasure them. God is so good and know this: YOU yourself are a gift to the sea of women in your sphere of influence.

Thank you for encouraging us to keep on serving Him. I am so blessed to also be celebrating a 10-year milestone of serving in women's ministry at my local church. I remember so well the day our Pastor asked me to "plan a few events" for the women...WOW - that was 10 years ago and many retreats, salad suppers, Beth Moore Bible studies (and others), Living Proof Life Events, Christmas brunches, Deeper Still conferences, outreach ministries, crying spells, dry spells, and planning sessions later, I still am so thankful and consider it an honor to minister to the women in my church and community!

I sat in my home office this morning previewing the DVD from Week 5 of "A Woman's Heart" in preparation for tomorrow afternoon's class with "my girls." I called my husband in and paused the DVD...I said to him, "do you have any remote idea how much Beth Moore has ministered to my life?" He assured me that he did and sat faithfully as I encouraged him to "watch this one little part..." He loves you too!

Bless that man - he had been deer hunting this morning and was getting ready to go back out this afternoon to scout out a place to take some young men deer hunting next week. These young guys from our church don't have daddies that take up any time with them. So proud of my man for that...

Well, thank you for your sweet humble spirit. God has esteemed you mightily Beth, and I believe in my heart it is because you are standing firm on the Rock of Ages and know from whence cometh your help!

I truly thank God for you and consider it an honor to pray for you.

Much Love,
Georgia Jan

Miss Beth,
Thank you so much for CT last night. It was so good to be there and be apart of the promise kept. I learned more then you think you taught. I was made whole last night as He confirmed in my spirit what I went knowing. It was humbling to watch you minister on your knees. I have a lot to chew on, especially that hole filled with grace. My nugget for the night was "I love you too." I don't think I will ever be able to say it again with out the "too". Thank you dear sister. We were blessed to be taught.

Connecticut was AWESOME! God was amazing! I have to share that a lady came up to me to pray for her at the end and she said she had been invited to come about two hours before the event. She was planning on telling her husband she wanted a divorce the very next day but God showed her that night that they could work everything out! It was amazing!
From Old Sunday School classes in H-Town all the way to an amazing evening in Connecticut, it was an amazing time to witness 100 events. And I'm putting a video on my blog of the presentation of the plaque...
Love you ladies!

Beth,

I was so very blessed to attend your DE conference and you happened to go up the set of bleachers directly across from my row when you were taking questions from the audience. One question/statement I would have asked you is to PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE come back to this area as soon as you can. We women on the 'shore' (Delmarva Eastern Shore that is) are so HUNGRY for Jesus and your message filled a longing in my soul that had existed for many years. 'FROM NOW ON' I will Love like crazy and live in reconciliation with my Lord and Saviour while reconciling my relationship with my husband.

Your ministry has blessed me personally and I wanted to thank you for your message Thursday night and this new turning point in my life.

Grace be to God

Beth, Travis and your LPM Team! Congratulations on 10 very blessed years. Thank you for listening to our awesome God and sharing ALL of your gifts with us. It takes a whole host of very talented people to succussfully complete a LPL event and day to day ministry. All the planning, set up, support, take down, etc. It's amazing what is done prior to Travis and Beth taking the stage to bring such warmth and love to some very "hungry for scripture" ladies (and some brave men).

And then when these two take the stage...you know there's been an ark-load of prayer and preparation that has gone on. I will never forget my first LPL event in WA. And the Siesta Fiesta this year was incredible. I've said it before, Beth, but thank you again for all you've shared, taught and prayed for and being the real person God created you to be.

Congrats and best wishes for another 100 years of spreading God's Word.

In His Love, Bobbie

Some friends and I saw you at the Whittemore Center in Durham, NH. What a blessing! Thank you for coming and sharing the Word of God with such passion. We were equally blessed to experience such powerful worship. I am reminded of the question you asked us that night, "Who do you want to be?" I know that answer. I WANT TO BE HIS! -completely and totally His!

After reading your blog -the part about not getting to know the women personally, I thought of something my friend said that night. As she looked around at all the people in the Whittemore Center, she said, "Just think about it, one day we'll be in heaven with all these people!" I thought, "How cool is that!" So, may that thought comfort and encourage you as it has me. Thank you so much for coming to our little state. Until that day, God bless you all!

Take some time off now and enjoy the gifts you received! Oh yes, and take your daughter shopping!

Beth, you have been such an encouragement to me throughout the years of knowing you and your ministry. My first experience with you was facilitating "A Woman's Heart, God's Dwelling Place" in '97 at my church. And I have been grateful for every moment I've shared Jesus with you. Sometimes it's been Bible study and video...sometimes it's been live in a church and other times it has been in huge, sold-out events at the biggest arenas in the state. And it's always with the most beautiful women of faith! I may not know all the women...but my heart knows them. We are one in Christ. Do you know how hard it is for women to get away from their families for these events? And there's only one reason they come...to experience Jesus and to feel the passion of your teaching and Travis' praising! We love you all so much!
I was there at the Phillips Arena and remember the teaching on Alpha and Omega and how you shared about our timelines. And I was in Baltimore for the Patriarchs taping...you prepared me in Jesus for a huge change in my life through that study...an uprooting...and those lessons strengthened me in the biggest battle I've ever been through.
I just want to say thank you for being faithful to Christ. You have touched me and changed me into a mature woman of faith that still has much to experience. But I will raise up my Ebenezer stone too, with you...because my God has helped me this far, too!
Please listen carefully, do you hear the sound? It is the sound of thousands of women from all across this nation clapping! We thank you. We humbly thank you for all you have meant to us. We love you like a sister...or a mom...some even love you like a daughter. But we love you so much! Thank you for loving us and sharing Jesus so faithfully. May God bless you richly and continue leading you down the path He has planned for you. Much love and gratitude, dear Beth...
And most of all, thank You, Jesus, for loving us so much through this ministry. May we be passionate in our love for You...

A year and a half ago, my closest childhood friend also went to be with the Lord after battling breast cancer. It is sweet to me that you finished your 50 states visit in Hartford, Connecticut. We are off to see our freshman son, this next week, who is, in obedience to the Lord's leading, stuyding at Yale (New Haven). When he visited, a young man assured him (and us) with this: "A lot of people seem to think that Ivy League schools don't have a soul (meaning a Christian influence). I am here to tell you, that we do. You just have to sometimes look deep to find it."
And isn't it true, many times we all have to look deep to find our soul...the very thing that is our living, breathing connection to the Lord. I am praying that our souls will live closer to the surface in the days to come.

RICH--Hear me Rich--we NEED to see that photo albulm of such wonderful hairstyles through the past decade. We probably all have seen glimpses from our Bible Studies (and am I the only one who thought Beth would jump out of the screen when she spoke on the videos? Can I get a witness?) but a reminder would be so great!

Ms. Beth-I am SO glad that the Lord has blessed you with all 50 states! And I am even more thankful that God has blessed you with the ability to lead, direct, encourage, uplift and love on the women of this world. THANK YOU for being faithful.

To Keith, Amanda and Melissa-thank you for sharing your wife/mom with us for the last ten+ years. What a sacrifice you have made and I know I am one of many whose life has been changed by that sacrifice. It has not been in vain!

May God bless the Moores even more in the next phase of ministry!

Beth-

First time post here :0)

I love this blog and am so thankful for this ministry. For a very very very new Christian, being able to go through comments and see how many others struggle with the same things is encouraging. I also love seeing how many are so faithful and true to the glorious God we serve...it is truly awe-inspiring. As a girl who shares some past experiences with you, I look up to your example and what you have done with God n your side, and can only hope and pray God will use my story to impact others in my life and in my community.

Thank you for giving me the desire to keep moving forward with proclaiming how great our God is, no matter what!

Thank you, Beth. That was the scripture GOD gave me over 2 years ago when I was captured by HIS grace.

"I WILL instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you."

I wrote it in the first Bible I bought and at the urging of a dear Christian lady, I also picked up that book "Get Out Of That Pit".

It may sound nutty, but even though I found a church, I listened to all of your Bible studies and even all of the Sunday School lessons on CD.

I didn't even know who you were - BUT HE DID! GOD knew you would not lead me astray from the truth...

Thank you for being obedient and faithful to HIS word.

I caught that love for HIS word that you have. You said to pray for it and I cannot think of living without the sacred words of GOD!

Blessings and prayers for your life poured out for HIM,
Teri

She is 11 and I just want to thank you for things such as that...a reason, celebration, gathering of Christians, no matter where we live. I look forward to you visiting Vermont again someday!!!

OK...and again you have blessed my heart beyond what I can even express with words. I hopped on here the other night...I had actually gone to bed...gotten in under the covers and was going to sleep. I ran down here and jumped on the blog and read your prayer for us from Moday...I would have sworn that you had been following me around this whole week. It was a really tough one for me. My heart has struggled and begged GOD to show me where I am supposed to be and what I am supposed to be doing...and then I read your prayer about not being stuck, not being without options, and how we should stop pounding on doors that HE has clearly closed, but we should walk through the ones HE has opened even if not our personal favorite door #1...That is where I am living. The door that I am walking through is not the one that I would choose...I want to be in ministry...I want that for my vocation, but that is not the door that GOD has opened for me right now. Oh, to be sure, HE gives me many opportunities to minister and to share HIM with others...the biggest area is in my home with my own daughters and my husband, but my heart wants to be touching the lives of hurting women...that's not where we are right now...SO I will follow HIM through the door that HE has clearly opened and I will be satisfied...because HE is our satisfaction.
I am so sorry I have gone on and on...I really was only going to say that I copied that prayer and the last few paragraphs of todays blog to share with a new friend that the LORD JESUS has blessed my life with in recent weeks. She was blessed the other night to read your prayer and I'm sure she'll be blessed to read your heart from this afternoon. Thank you Beth, for holding JESUS up high for us to look at HIM.
I love you!

Beth, Although I've been to a Living Proof Live event in NJ a few years ago, my Mom had never been. For her birthday, a friend gave her tickets to your even Friday night in CT. She was SO excited. When I talked to her today, she let me know you (& God) did not disappoint. She was floored (but not shocked) by what you and God had done. POWERFUL WORDS, she said. She gave me the gist of the message, and mentioned how powerful it'd be for my Mother-in-law. By any chance, do you record these events for purchase at all? If not, my Mom will just xerox her notes, and hope they capture your "essence". Maybe she should send it with a big blonde wig and a great pair of jeans!

We pray for you daily! God has a true servant in you, and we pray the enemy never gets any glimpse of any "backdoor".

Thanks for being faithful,

Thank you for that word. I needed a little encouragement in Him. I just said to hubby a little while ago that in this new church we just started attending, I don't know where I'll fit in. There are so many people and I feel like a small fish in a big pond. However I have determined that whatever God gives my hands to do, I will do.

I've got some things going on with my 8 yr old son and I've been asking God for HIS wisdom and direction in this. The verse you listed is one I'm going to pray over.

Thanks, Beth. I'm so glad that, as always, God showed Himself faithful to all. You are precious to us and I am thankful to have a big sis in the Lord like you.

What an amazing blog and you are so right. My husband and I used to be missionaries and even though it was hard we were very much in the "spotlight" at our big church. We came home from the field due to illness, suffered through infertility and now God has given us a very special needs adopted child. I love him more than I can say but he takes every ounce of my energy and faith sometimes. Anyway, God said this to me recently .......when I was a missionary yes of course God used me but much of my "reward" came in the attention of men. Everybody knew who I was and what I was doing and there was a very "glorious" side to it. Now I spend my time, sometimes very isolated with this child. Most people have no idea the struggle I walk with him. I had the attention of men as a missionary but the Lord told me that my ministry to this child has captured HIS attention. THIS is the place I become most like him. The verse you shared at the end of your post is my "life verse" and one I desperatly cling to in this walk with the Lord. All that to say, Amen sister, Amen. Thanks for what you do.

This is exactly what I needed to hear. Recently I've been going through a season of wondering if all of my effort was worth it. This gives me hope.

Hallelujah and praise His name!!

Beth,
The Lord changed your life so much and you are indeed "Living Proof" of what His grace and mercy can do in every one of us. God has used you in so many mighty ways. I am one of your students and so blessed and honored that the Lord saw the need to let our paths cross and our lives intertwine. Whether you know it or not, you are my mentor in the faith. Not just me, thousands of us. Do you hear that? Thousands upon ten thousands of us have been blessed by your ministry and changed by the Creator of this Universe; the Lover of our souls.

You are the most beautiful thing I have ever seen - for you represent Jesus to us and you do it so well.

This isn't a "praise you Beth" post. That would be wrong and not what we are about. But this is indeed a "Thank you, Beth" post. Thank you for saying "yes" to God in such a HUGE way that the overflow has spilled out upon countless lives who will never be the same because of your obedience and His incredible grace and love for each of us.

I, too, have heard the call and am saying "yes" to Him in whatever way He wants to use me. I caught the fire years ago when Second Baptist Church in Katy was brand new and my friend said to me, "Roxanne, you HAVE to go with me and hear this awesome Bible teacher named Beth Moore!" I believe Kim Hill was your guest artist.

I fell in love with Jesus that night and truly became inspired by His Holy Word. It was life to me then - like I never knew before.

I hope this does not sound corny, but I am so proud of you. You are dear and precious. And what a legacy, Beth. Both of your beautiful images hearing and heeding God's call on their lives. WOW! What a MIGHTY GOD WE SERVE!!

As you continue on this faith journey with the Lord, I pray God's continued hedge of protection surrounding each of you and His hand of favor upon you. May your walk be blameless and may you walk on and on for the cause of Christ Jesus.

I love you so much!
Roxanne

Well, my dear Beth,

You nearly made me cry, too!

What special gifts those things must be for you two. I'm so glad Lifeway threw that party for Y'all! You've earned it, just by being "willing to become God's vessel of Truth" to the people whose lives He's touched through you!

Personally speaking, my Bible would still be sitting on a shelf with dust all over It... IF ... one of my colleagues at the middle school where we both taught [NW of Houston] hadn't convinced me to try out this online Bible study nearly 6 years ago... that was being done by this lady that I had only heard of on a goofy radio station, [Yeah, it was KSBJ][on my morning commute from NW Houston to this school] because she was in the middle of a "real Watermelon Spitting Contest" live on their morning show in downtown Houston someplace! And y'all had me crackin' up so much that morning!

But, it wasn't until I started listening to this voice online from this same lady named "Beth Moore" in late September 2002 that my whole life began to change. For starters, I was still at my school [no computer at home] after all the kids had gone home, and within less than 20 minutes, there was "something" that I must have "grabbed onto" from the Intro session for "Believing God". I didn't know what it was, but I was frozen there, just listening to the words that He gave you to speak to us... And, praise be to God, I found out 6 months later that it was God's Love being poured through your sweet vessel into mine that afternoon.

And, after that day, I just could not stay out of His Word, even though I felt like I had no Earthly reason for trying to read It, since It didn't make much sense to me at first. But, you kept on encouraging us beginners, praise be to God! I pressed the pause button so often those first few weeks on that computer, so I could try to find some verse that you had directed us to, I couldn't even count! But, then I finally found these WONDERFUL things at a Christian bookstore [likely a Lifeway Store] called "Bible book tabs". And, yes, I still have that same Bible, and the book tabs and the precious Bible has seen It's better days, but I just can not seem to "give it up".

And, when I wrote that my "life was changed" that day, I mean that just a bit less than 7 months later, I realized that I needed to know "your Jesus"... And, this precious woman of God from your church led me to accepting Christ Jesus as my Lord and Savior the day after Palm Sunday...

However, like you wrote on the blog this time, my life seems to "be in the middle of a literal whirlwind" of attacks, and homegoings [and trying to grieve as a "Christian should grieve" for my dear Daddy who is in Heaven with Jesus], and rejections from interviewers [due to there being too many applicants and/or teachers" in this crazy state], that I have become extremely weary in these life draining struggles to "simply keep holding onto Jesus and His promises for my life, and forcing myself to 'press on' each morning..."

BUT, I may be "hangin' on to Him with only a teeny tiny bit of a mustard seed of faith, I KNOW that I still belong to HIM, and that means EVERYTHING TO ME !!! For I know that He is causing Psalm 32:8 now, and will one day cause Jer. 29:11, and that verse you always used to quote to us in Bible study and SS class from 1st or 2nd Corinthians, verse 2:9 to happen in my life ...

However, the best part of this whole thing is that my dear Mom [whom I live with] is doing the exact same thing; just hangin' on to Jesus, her Lord & Savior, too! =) My dear parents would've celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary on July 16th of this year, but the Lord called Daddy home on, strangely enough, the day after Easter; March 24, 2008... But, I keep trying to think that my Dad must have been put right to "work" in the Lord's wood carving area up there in Heaven, as he learned that craft mostly from Him in the first place this past January... that is, if he has been able to get off of his knees in front of Jesus yet ...

Thank you, my dear teacher... for everything that you do, and for being such an "authentic Christian lady" for all of us...

In Christ's Love,

Jennifer O.

That last paragraph, the one that God sees us and there is no one more he notices but me...lifts my spirit. I have a 17 month old handsome boy and just had my sweet 2 month old precious girl...She has had colic and can I say between that and my sweet boy needing my undivided attention (and cutting all 4 molars at the same time!) I was for sure God had just forgotten about me. I didn't think I could do it. Motherhood is tough and yes rewarding but the way you phrased that last paragraph spoke right to my heart. Thank you Heavenly Father for speaking right through Beth and to my thirsty soul. It was just the fresh drink of water I needed :)

I am so grateful for you Miss Beth. I've loved you for about 10 years...but now you have sealed the deal. I am a Connecticut girl--transplanted to the Bible Belt (took me 3 years to raise my hand in worship, thought y'all were waving at someone in the choir.) Last year when I read that you were going to Maine, I just wept. Only God would send an ArkanTexan to Lewiston, ME to share His word! As I read the posts this week,I was just so blessed. Your honesty is a mighty gift to this frail seeker. Jesus saved me, but you and Philip Yancey have kept me going. I thank God for you and all those that help you stay at it. Beth, I just needed to tell you that I have now read this post over several times...and each time, it is as though you are sitting here with me ~ yes, with a hot favorite coffee brew in hand, and talking to me with those wonderful words of encouragment. Oh, you have it so very right; that's what it often feels like here in CT, nobody notices and nobody cares; there's no joy like I once knew and FELT in the Bible belt where I lived for 20 years in FL where I came to know the Lord, or the exhuberance I see when I have the pleasure of visiting my baby girl in college at Liberty University...I miss it, I so desperately miss it!! Last night was like a breath of fresh air for me. A return home. But, you have reminded me that I can return home every day, by simply opening His Word and letting Him, our mighty awesome God encourage me. Though the church is cold and we wonder why? what is happening? we must remember it ain't about us...we are what we are because of Him...we have the capacity to love and be loved because He first loved us. Thank you for reminding us of that last night, and thank you so much for this sweet, tender post. Of all the ones on this blog since I started, it is the one that pierces my heart the most...May the Lord bless you and keep you even as you have been such a blessing in my life.

Okay, Someone needs to address the nose comment! Mrs. Beth, your nose is wonderful and no it is not the nose a plastic surgeon would fashion but the Father God saw fit to and if, and I mean IF, it isn't the prettiest nose that is only to prevent us all from resenting you, and therefore taking from your ministry, for your all around gorgeousness. I am sorry this is personal but it should be said when your heart and soul are so pretty sometimes a girl just needs to be reminded how pretty she is outside too. BTW, I have sat just under the very same nose in Shreveport, LA on the first row. I feel I make all comments with some authority :) God Bless you and thank you for who you are!

Just kidding, I am not sure my own mom would give me up, just wish she would pray over me and concern herself with matters of the Spirit as you do with your daughters.

You're like the energizing bunny--you just keep going and going. Glad all are safe and back home. Your family missed you like crazy, for I know I did. Don't take too long a break- us ladies are ready for some more Moore! God Bless! Carla Lee

Dear One-
You make me cry and completely choke. You have been the dearest minister of Jesus to me. I have been in quite the journey, as have many of my siestas. Someone asked me the other day, "Did you have a support group, or a Bible study group to help you?" The LORD saw fit to give me none of that normal help, because otherwise I would have become co-dependent, and He wanted me Dependent On Him. He did however, give me a great mentor and lovely Bible study teacher: You! You would never even recognize me from Adam, if we met in the street, but you have spoken Jesus into my life. I was driving the other day and repeating, " I am who Christ says I am! I am adopted, loved, chosen,,," You get my drift. Thank you so much for literally pouring yourself out to others and me as a drink offering for the LORD. I love you and praise God with you for the 10 years and 50 states (countries next?) that God has orchestrated in your life. Stay strong, Stay Faithful, Darling One. I echo you and others: Stay Faithful! Satan would like nothing more than to take you out. I pray for you so much. To God be all the Glory, both now are forever more! God bless you! Get some rest! Love you-
Lisa in Kirkland, WA
P.S. Thank you for taking us along to New England! It was like we were in another van following you. Thank you for that kindness.

Every part of your blog was so cool, Beth. I love it when God does something like the photo book thing- just knocks us off our feet with something we desire so much! I think He gets a kick out of surprising us like that. Thanks also for the encouragement.

Love you to pieces!

Beth, your words of encouragement struck deep, way deep chords within my soul. Where I live, I am surrounded by an environment of arrogant self-sufficiency, a sort of every-man-for-himself hedonism, and particularly for someone who's so vulnerably young in the faith, sometimes it gets discouraging and ... 'scary', if you will: my first reaction in times of challenge and trouble wouldn't be to reach for the word of God: it IS a conscious effort, and not something that happens 'naturally' and effortlessly. Conversely, I realize that it is, indeed, this very effort that can bring on the surge of determination that I need to carry on being the Salt and Light that God has always intended me to be.

Hope the above made sense! thank you for your words -- they never cease to bless me!

for His Glory!

Dear Beth,

Thank you so much for coming to New England and for your encouraging words in this post. I have lived in Massachusetts and Connecticut my entire life and have often felt so alone and discouraged as a Christian, particularly living in this part of the country where I am not always surrounded by people who share my faith.

Friday night in Connecticut was just awesome. The message went straight to my heart and I believe will be life-changing. That night was my 10th wedding anniversary and my sweet husband was gracious enough to encourage me to be there. I was very reflective myself on 10 years, as you mentioned looking back on your ministry, and was thinking of how grateful I am that a friend mentioned your Bible studies to me about 6 years ago. Since then I've had the privilege of doing Believing God, Beloved Disciple, Daniel, and Psalms of Ascent, and each study has truly impacted my life and brought me closer to God. Thank you again for your faithfulness, obedience, and humility.

Beth, Thank you so much for your devotion to sharing God's word with us. I have had the pleasure of going to a couple of your conference's, and doing many of your studies. Praise God, that He has gifted you in a mighty way! I love the pics from your previous post. And your nose is part of you! Don't even think about wanting it any different! You are beautiful! We are soooooo critical of our own selves! What would you tell another woman, if it were reversed, and she came to you wanting to change a physcal appearance?
I used to be very(very) critical of myself. But, the more I love God, the more I love and accept who I am , and how He has created me. Almost all of the critical thoughts in my mind , were from people, who meant me harm , they were not motivated by love! God loves us so much that He knows all the hairs on our head! So, Praise God for your cute nose!

Wow. Thank you for those wonderful words this morning. They have made me cry. Life is so full and rich for my family right now . . . all except financially and a couple physical things we're dealing with. I try so very hard to just keep praising God through the storm we're in, but I admit there are those days when I wonder when He'll break open those clouds of blessings. I don't get such warmth and wisdom from my own mom, so it feels like God just sent you to me this morning to give me a great big hug with a huge reminder to keep pressing on and be faithful. Praise the Lord He's in control of my life!

OH Mama Beth,

If you were right here, I would be giving you a very big hug, with many tears of joy for YOu. God is so , oh I don't know really what to say, SO AWESOME. Bless you, thank you, thank you, thank you. I have never been able to give you a hug, but I was only a few rows from you at siesta fiesta, and I felt all the love you have for your King, and for us girls too. Thank you, because, I need a mamma's love like that.

Lord, grant Beth these next few months she has off from traveling, a beautiful, restful, most precious time with her man - super supper man -, with her amazing daughters, their husbands, and her grandchildren. Father they all love you sooo much and I just pray your presence is just clung around them like a fuzzy chenille robe, always tender, always warm, and only like the Holy Spirit - always perfect.

I am so blessed to be your siesta!

Love you,
Kate in Charlottesville

Beth, Siesta's everywhere...we are "family", we are blood ~ His blood. It does NOT GET ANY BETTER than this...to lift each other up, to hold each other close, and to press on when evil presses in! How I cry out to my sweet, sweet Jesus in my cracked state, choosing to believe that He heals perfectly. I'd rather get on my knee's, cracked and broken as I am and pray for YOU and YOURS, than spend wasted time trying to fill in my own cracks and fix my own brokeness. Because years with Jesus, and years with you Beth have proven to me time and time again that HE will fix ME, I am here to serve YOU. Be it praying, be it feeding, be it washing your feet, Siesta's you are my family and I love you. Amanda, Melissa, like my own...my own daughter Tara has been raised with Jesus, and your mom and is your age with my precious g-babies...how more greatly can He love us than to love us all in His Name!!! Always ~ Susan

I almost didn't go to the blog this morning. Praise God I did! I have tears in my eyes at your words of encouragement, miss beth; I'm a pastor's wife, our church is going through a really rough time right now, and will be for a while. My husband severely injured his back, had surgery a month ago, and is healing slowly. He has lots of his meetings and such in our living room, from his recliner (including 6 a.m. elder meetings--no more going to the kitchen in my bathrobe to make coffee!!!). I have rheumatoid arthritis, which is progressing quickly, drugs are not slowing it down. Praise God, He is so faithful and gives us the strength to go on, so He alone gets the glory--and He does!
But I'm so tired; the church body helps us, but I'm so tired. We have lots of hurting people who need counsel and comfort, and I often feel like no one remembers how hard life is for us right now.
But God remembers! God sees! and I can encourage myself in the Lord.
Beth, you and I would definitely be sisters at a Starbucks at another place and time. Thank you for blogging, so I can have just a taste of that.
Love you lots,
beverly, in OR

Bethie (I call you that bcs I know we would SO be BBF's if we ever got together)~~I prayed for you this morning...mostly that I just thanked God for you and your testimony, but also for your enthusiasm and the contagious way you love the Savior. You make me laugh & don't even get me started on the crying. Your Bible studies helped me find my way to the foot of the cross years ago and now God is using your studies to help me develop my own for ladies in the Philippines where our family works as missionaries! It is just amazing how God works!

I started to tell you that I was so jealous to be with you when you were in Delaware...not bcs that's where I'm from; I'm a Texas girl through & through, but not only were you meeting there, but my husband was there also! We just laughed on the phone bcs I told him it would be too funny it he actually ran into you. Didn't happen, but that would have been so funny.

I adore you...I love you for encouraging me to love deeper, stronger, and wilder...if we never meet, please know that you are loved! :-)

You're right Beth! What a wild ride this has been. I can't claim the past ten years with you, but I can say my life has been forever changed since being introduced to your Bible studies oh so many years ago. I attended my first conference with you in Memphis (June 2001) and have been in love with your ministry and Travis (and praise team) ever since. Suffice it to say that I'm just one of many who have been so profoundly impacted by your work for the Kingdom!!

So where ever this journey may take you KNOW that at least to this point, you've "done" good! I'm sure your ABBA has already told you that. But just in case you need a real live (okay, maybe "cyber" person) to tell you as much, let it be me today. Simply you are the BEST! Thank you for all the faithful service you've done for Him over the past 10 years.

Can't wait to see what the next 10 years holds!!!

Much love,

I first "met" you at a conference in Stillwater, OK. I've been attending a conference every year since and have completed almost all of your Bible studies. Now my husband and I watch Life Today every single Wed. after we get home from church, which is a huge blessing I've enjoyed with my husband. You have blessed my life so much through the years. I've grown up in the church. My dad's a wonderful preacher of the Word (he's almost 75 years old and still going strong...Praise the Lord!!) and I've grown up knowing God loves me and He saved me years ago when I was 8 yrs. old.

Your in-depth studies have caused me to become closer to the Lord & desire fellowship with Him and for that I am eternally grateful.

I'm one of those fortunate ones from the Bible belt who is blessed to have several Christian television stations available 24/7 and at least four really good Christian radio stations. I do not take this blessing for granted!

I am so thankful that God has blessed you and your family. He is faithful and I appreciate all you and your entire team have done for the glory of the Lord for the past 10 years. Congratulations & may He continue to pour blessings out on the body of Christ through you.

Love you & appreciate you!!!

This is my first comment on your blog, but I've been reading for awhile now.
This post was exactly what I needed to hear today, especially the bit about when you go days without encouragement to find it in God himself.
I recently graduated from an amazing, Christ-centered college in the midwest and decided to come home to the West Coast for law school. The shift in environment and just camaraderie and support has been stark. I've really been struggling with a sometimes total lack of encouragement, or so it seems.

Thank you for the reminder that it's in times like these I need to turn my face back to the One who sent me here - and sent me here for a reason.

God Bless!

Beth,

I just got home from a discouraging meeting at church. I am involved in a new ministry, (actually I'm the coordinator so I conduct the meetings). Anyway, we have something big coming up and really need everyone on the committee to help. Very few people were at the meeting. Sometimes I feel like I'm trying to pull a bus all by myself.

I got on your blog and skimmed the latest entry. Two things JUMPED off the screen.
"He is attentive to your labor. He is attentive to your CRY. IT MATTERS."
Then I saw...
"Stay faithful, Darling One. STAY FAITHFUL! Every ounce of your effort and every drop of sacrifice are poured like anointing oil on the feet of Jesus."

Then I went back and read the words in between. You have no idea how much I needed to hear those words. God speaks through you. Thank you for typing the words He gives you!

Thank you, Beth, for the encouraging words....it has been a pleasure watching where God has taken this ministry over the last 10 years.

Our ladies' group at church started doing your studies a little over 10 years ago. We started with a handful of women. We have done pretty much every one of your studies. (We are chomping at the bit for Esther to come out!) We have also gone to several LPL events through the years, as well.

We started with a half a dozen ladies and now we are pushing 20 or more. The Lord is so faithful...praise His name!

We look forward to what he has in store for the rest of 2008, 2009 and beyond!

P.S...We recently revisited one of your older studies and we decided you keep getting younger looking with each study. We all think you are beautiful - don't change a thing about yourself!!

Beth,

Now I am the one crying. Just this morning, I was struggling getting my three cherubs dressed and ready for Church. It was like World War 15 had broken out! my youngest, 4, was crying about EVERYTHING this morning. I would get on twist of the curling iron done... and there would be another wail about something!

As a single Mom, I so often find myself discouraged just trying to do the things I need to do.

I try very hard to do the things I need to do. To keep in the Word. To keep praying. To keep guiding my 3 angels. But, sometimes it is VERY hard.

I appreciate the words of encouragement on a day that I so desparately needed it! That is just how the Lord works... providing what you need... when you need it... through various means!

Thanks so very much!

How precious. Beth... Thank you for sharing this long week with us. We love your zeal for God and the life He's given you as crazy scheduled as it may be. I personally love the fact that I grew to maturity under your teaching.

As I read the precious words about the album with personal stories given to you by those you served... I thought about two precious books and a boxful of notecards and letters I received after my son died. Those words written on paper of how my son and my family have affected the lives of others just are precious to me. It is the story behind the story of my life - just as all our stories of how you and your family have impacted our lives is the story behind your story and I for one am grateful that you allow us to be a part of it at all. I am so blessed to call you my friend - even if I never meet you face-to-face... But a girl can hope to say thank you in person... can't she? Love you bunches. I have come to "know" you,as so many have, as a teacher and leader and pointer-to-Christ. Your teachings have pointed me to the One who changed my life, and who changes my life every day. Of course, no words can express thanks for that.

This post made my heart cry out, Amen, amen!

I am from New Jersey, and now live in Pennsylvania. I grew up in one of those "very intellectual communities that look down on Christians like they’re ignorant and gullible." Oh, Beth, I wish you were wrong... but you are not. There are always exceptions, but in my experience, there were few.

My family raised us proactively to be unbelievers. But God had His very hand on my life.

I often, half-jokingly, say that the Northeast needs missionaries as badly as China. Oh,in actuality, it is no joke. And as I type this, God is pressing on me that I must pray for this 'home' of mine (can you tell I am doing 'Stepping Up' -Psalm 122?), not just my current town - but this region.

Well, I guess the main purpose of this post is simply a thank you. Thank you for coming to the Northeast.

I am so very thankful that God led you to the Northeast, and that you listened and followed. May you have opportunity to return, if God leads you this way again.

I have to say that I loved every moment of reading this post. How faithful God is. Celebrating what God has done through LPM these 10 years. But it was when you spoke about David that I broke down in tears. I can, and I will encourage myself in Him. And the angels?!! Praise be to God!

I know you do not know my face, but yet you love me anyway. I know you do because you say so. Oh, I love you too, and am so thankful for you and your obedience to God's calling on your life. So many days you become that little bit of Jesus I needed someone to be to me. Thank you. I can't wait to meet you in eternity!

Last thing. Is there anyway you could do a "Ten Years of Beth in Hairstyles" post? Wouldn't that be so fun??? You've talked about it, now I have a feeling we're all dying to see it :)

May God bless you richly. -Jillian

Thank you, Beth, for your continuing encouragement to me. As a 42 year old mother still helping youngin's learn to read, while the others are at college, I have some days of cramped and confused living. Good "Jesus livin' kind of stuff", but nevertheless an odd mix of emotions at times.

I, too, wish your life afforded you a pause to know all of us who love you. But after 5 years of doing life with you via God's Word, I am content to save it for heaven. My life in my little is more than enough to carry me home where eternity will eternally pause to allow for such sacred friendships.

Until then, much love and peace~elaine

So true it is nothing is harder than our mission field right in our homes. Satan attacks me more here than anywhere else. I let him defeat me far too often. However, I have been on such a spiritual growth journey the past 7 years and beginning to see more and more how faithful He is to bless obedience in my life.

I have seen you both times you have spoken in Knoxville and cannot express to you how much your words from Him have impacted my life. Your studies are a HUGE part of my growth, some studies I have done twice! I even sent you a poem I wrote you concerning Loving Well! Thanks for being faithful to God ministering to so many of us. Your blog is like medicine to my soul always inspiring me to stay in the Word and grow.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Thank you!

Thank you for your encouragement, Beth. You hold a special place in my heart - your studies have allowed Jesus to do His thing in me! A beautiful work and He is faithful to complete it, Praise God! You and your writing & teaching sparked a passion in me for His Word... for Him really. I think I've said this before in a comment, but you have really been used in a mighty way by God to change so many lives - including mine. I just love you so!!

I also thank you for your ministry! I was at your Delaware conference and God spoke clearly to my heart for the first time in a long time. . .

I didn't realize that I had been angry at God for over 18 years. That is when my humble, lovable dad suffered and died from pancreatic cancer. Because of your teaching on 2 Corinthians, chapter 5, I was able to once again reconcile with God. Wow! So that is why I was "stuck" in my spiritual walk~

"AND FROM NOW ON" I will reconcile relationships (especially the difficult ones) with the love of our Lord Jesus. I have been holding people at arm's length for too long. I want God to be glorified in my life!

I also loved your "getting to know each other time" in the beginning. It reminded me of the old Carol Burnett Show!

You are one of the most loving, wise and hilarious people I know!

Please come back to the "Eastern Shore" soon! (And bring your family with you)

WOO HOO! Anyway... Can you tell me a really great place to grab lunch with my husband after church on Sunday before I head on back.

I'm making the trip down to see him this weekend and looking for pointers... Blessings.

I just love you!! I know this is random but a question I have always wanted to ask:
As a busy woman/mom/grandmother with such a hectic schedule, how do you find time to do it all? You stay so thin and always look so cute and put together. AND you spend time every day in prayer and study. I'm struggling. either I exercise or I do my bible study.
How do you do keep your cute figure?

Whew! I had to get a fresh cup of coffee before I read the last (most recent post) of the NE events.

The prayer you prayed & blogged, I read an prayed right along with you. I know it was written last Monday night, but it is what my soul needed right at the time, as are the words from your post on the plane ride from NE back to Texas.

My husband lost his job in mid July. He has tons of manegerial construction expereienc. He is has a college degree. But he is hard-pressed to find a job. He is delivering pizzas to support his family of me, and four children (Molly 13, Joshua 11, Elizabeth 8, Jonathan 5).

He has quite possibly sent out 1000 resumes in the past months, but hardly any luck. For the most part, we've remained steadfast and optimistic, but boy, it gets tough.

We've prayed, we've cried, we've been seeking God's direction for him and for our family and it seems like we have heard nothing! But when we take the time and look back at the last several months, we have EVERYTHING.

We may not have full-time, blue or white collar employment, but God alone has sustained our bank account. I truly have no idea how we've come this far.

We may not have insurance, but we have six healthy people in our family (with the exception of my tooth-just had the 3rd root canal on my back tooth, but praise God, it was PAID FOR prior to losing our insurance!)

We may not see clearly where HE is leading or calling us, but WE DO HAVE HIM and I've never seen my husband so engaged and with such a searching, sincere heart toward the Lord.

So, Beth, thank you for the reminder that He Knows, and He is never far away.

Thank you for your servant work in God's kingdom!

Your Sietsa,
Mindy Jo

OH how God is good. Just this morning at church...the church my own husband pastors...I said to God, "I'm tired of this community!" Thank you, Beth, for timely and specific spoken words that encouraged my hurting heart. As I read your first paragraph I began crying and asking God why am I in a hard place as our church has dwindled in the past 10 years. Praise God for your last paragraphs!! I was able to encourage myself in the Lord by recounting the wonderful things He has done in these past 10 years. Those who remain in our small congregation are faithful people who pursue a personal relationship with their Father. God has used our church to cooperate with parents to raise godly young people who walk with Him as they have left our community. He continually humbles us and causes us to cry out to Him. The Holy Spirit directed your thoughts and words to minister to me with this blog. Praise Jesus.

Oh, Beth, for the privilege to pray for you. I am one of many who is so very thankful for your public ministry who feels like we could meet at Starbucks and share our hearts for Jesus. Although I would need a hot chocolate or Coke Zero!
And having just led the lesson on the woman anointing Jesus feet; I so thank you for that picture of ministry.
But I also have to tell you that I have a new favorite song, "JESUS SAVES." I bought Travis' Christmas album on iTunes and loved this song from the first time I heard it. I love the "Repeat 1" feature on my CD player. But since there is no such feature on my car's CD player, I made a CD of just that one song. If anyone needs to know, 17 "Jesus Saves" fit on to one CD! And I turn it up high so that I can sing along. It is hard to drive with one's hands lifted high.

I am doing Breaking Free with a few faithful women in my church (one of whom is my very own daughter--Praise Jesus!) What the Word of God in those pages and your video messages means to me is beyond description. And I know from their testimony that it is doing the same for them. He knows--and I hope in some way you know--what your ministry means to all of us.

Dear Beth,
Thank you so much for this encouragement. Like so many others commented here, I can't tell you how much your ministry means, how much your encouragement means, how much it means that you are continually pointing us all to God.
the best part for me was this:

"Sweet Thing, there is no one on Earth God notices more than you. He knows that the atmosphere He’s entrusted to you is not the easiest place on the planet to serve and, yet, day in and day out He sees you doing the thing. He knew you would. That’s why you’re there. He didn’t bother entrusting it to a light-weight."

The encouragement for me... to know that God notices, even when I am struggling, even when I am fighting for wholeness and healing. When I am working so hard, so that my family will have a whole, healed wife and mom. So that I won't be a walking wounded anymore.

I needed to hear that even when I am tempted to run from Him, and try to block out what He is telling me to deal with, He is still with me. he is still focusing on me. He is still helping me.

I am so glad that you had such blessed events in New England. It was a hoot hearing of your travels.

Thank you for the tears this morning, and the reminders of God's faithfulness. I will not be downcast, I will remember all that He has done, and I will praise Him, my Savior and my God.

God bless you immensely,
Heather from WI

Hi Beth - Haven't seen you in a while...
WOW! Congratulations on 10 years! I can't believe it's been that long for LPL. I remember Faith Whatley and I sitting in my office on 4th floor in the LifeWay tower, pondering over things like: "If we have 1500 women on a Friday night, that would be great!" - and the BIGGIE: "Should we get David Moffit or Travis Cottrell to lead worship? Who's the better fit?" (For the record - I said TRAVIS! )

The next date out was #2 LPL in Dothan, AL.
We oversold the 1500 seat church we had booked by an additional 1500 seats and had to move to a dumpy civic hall. Travis was there for his 1st date with LPL, God showed up and WOW! The roller coaster ride began!~~10 years of WOW! God is good. I hope you've enjoyed the ride as well!

I had a great ride the next 2-3 years pulling together sound, sets and stage managing LPL. After that, I took a promotion at LifeWay and moved away from the team that sponsored LPL. MAN, I really missed it!

Well - as things go, I'm no longer working with LifeWay. Many of us were released this year, downsized due to the economy. Would you pray for your old friend Dave, that God would soon lead me to my next place of service? THANKS!

Beth - all the FATHER's BEST to YOU! It was honor to work with you in the early LPL years.
Give me a shout if you ever want to pursue making that "Beth Moore LIving Proof Potpouri" that we talked about years ago! I think we were going to call the scent
"Dust from HIS Sandals" (lol)!

Grace & Peace!

Beth -
You are so Darlin'!
I always think when I see you, that you are the cutest thing. I love how you have your story, your song and I just adore that it makes you the most wonderful friend to have. I just got back from a women's retreat this past weekend where one (among many) woman spoke, named Sarah Thrash. Please check this woman out, she is great. She is an amazing author and speaker. But the most important thing that has blessed me about her is that she has spent her life living it for GOD and let me tell you, she has been to every continent and goes to different places gladly in the name of the LORD.
Beth, you are an amazing example, and we love you.
And I adore each and every one on your team and involved. I probably won't ever know all the names of those involved, but what an impact they make.

And to Amy Hartling -
I don't know what you have been through, but your post touched me and I wanted to let you know that you will be in my thoughts and I am glad that the LORD allowed my eyes to slow and read your post.
God Bless You and Yours.

In the Blessed name of our savior, I pray for all the men and women who make the conscience decision to follow and serve the LORD.
In Jesus name,
Amen

I am so not trying to take this passage out of context (Melissa...he he) ;) but I just think of how mind blowing the Lord has been with this ministry and how much it has impacted me and thousands of others. YOU WILL NEVER KNOW. Oh how the Lord gets the glory. I have said it before a number of times and will say it again. You or the praise team have NEVER pointed me to you but to Christ.

Romans 11
Doxology
33Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
How unsearchable his judgments,
and his paths beyond tracing out!
34"Who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or who has been his counselor?"
35"Who has ever given to God,
that God should repay him?"
36For from him and through him and to him are all things.
To him be the glory forever! Amen.

Anyway, thank you...and when I was in Trussville and heard Stephen (who is just too precious single ladies...lol) speak of that video I so wished I could see it!

Also, thank you for pushing me. Thank you for pushing me to believe God. As I raise my own child and I hear people tell me oh she is going to rebel and probably come back to the Lord...I am like whatever (we all like sheep have gone astray) but I am going to believe God for her and like you said in believing God...if we step out and believe God for something and we are wrong at least we believed Him. He blesses our faith.

Also, I have gotten weirder in the last decade. ha ha. No but I have done everyone of your studies and most all of them multiple times. You just aren't cranking them out fast enough...I AM KIDDING. No but really we are so hungry and I just love those studies. Speaking of living it out at home...
I walked every inch of my home the other night (with my extra virgin olive oil) and marked every tv, mirror, door, step, and window with that oil and made the sign of the cross. Not because the oil matters but because I realize that because of the blood of Christ and the cross He has passed over me with His wrath that I so deserve. Then, while my baby was sleeping I put some on her and prayed over her and then myself. And as my vanity came in I thought...what if we break out because of the oil...and then I thought well, if we do break out at least it will be in the shape of a cross on our foreheads. LOL!!
Anyway, as for me and my house...we will serve the Lord.
Thank you!

Thanks for the encouragement today. I really needed to see the words, STAY FAITHFUL.

Sometimes during the tough times, it would seem so wonderful to pop a wheelie and burn rubber out of the wilderness. However, the journey we go through has a purpose and meaning; moreover, a higher calling than our human minds can fathom. We don't always see it, but the Master does.

His ways are not our ways. Which I have come to realize is a whole lot better than my silly schemes and plans.

Dear Beth,

I have never commented before, although I am a faithful reader. This post tonight moved me to tears and made me decide I need to let you know how much I appreciate you. I have often thought I needed to let you know how much you have taught me over the last 10years. At my small Southern Baptist Church, we have been doing your studies since the first one came out. You have taught me so much over the years. I have been in church all my life, but was so shy and never wanted to speak up. Then I thought I was only capable of teaching small children in Sunday School. Even though I have never met you, you have taught me how to speak up and teach God's word! You have been a mentor for me. I give Jesus all the glory for this! Through your studies and scripture, you and Jesus have spoken directly to me about specific situations in my life. Thank you for your teaching, your encouragement, and for your love in Christ for all of us!

Our journey continues--bless you for a great 10 years! When my dtr was dx with inoperable Crohns disease in 1999 your bible study "A woman's Heart" was my first. How it spoke to a heart that was totally unable to change any circumstances. You have spoken my language since then! Thank you.

Just what I need to hear -- Good reminder knowing so many sisters are living for Him in similar settings. Thank you so much, my dear Beth!

I needed this so much! My daughter and I are going through a really tough time right now. Her dad (my husband) is addicted to prescription drugs. I feel so alone. I feel I've been betrayed by a person who I thought was my friend. My life is so not like I thought it would be. It's all we can do to hold on. Please pray for us.

Stay faithful, Darling One. STAY FAITHFUL! Every ounce of your effort and every drop of sacrifice are poured like anointing oil on the feet of Jesus." Thank you i really needed to hear that!!!

Spiritual Mom Beth, it is good to hear from you. God showed up BIG, He's soo Good!:) What a surprise for you and Travis!...Aw, it was a good reason to have an ugly cry:) No, no nose jobs, God made you beautiful:)...God has been everything to you, Spiritual Mom Beth! He has taken a hold of your life, and used you mightily:) That's such a blessing, I'm sure, to be that for your daughters- They are gifts from the Lord to you...God has definitely used you to encourage us. All the Siestas living outside the Bible Belt and in the Bible Belt and overseas. It's definitely mutual if we have encouraged you:) I pray that all of us would live and consist in Him. That we would love Him more. Require Him to get through the day in one piece, with peace of mind too! YES, I want to be found faithful!! It has always amazed me how the God of the Universe knows each one of His own soo intimately, more than we know ourselves. He is interested in the details of each and every one of His children's lives...He's that BIG. Yes, that we would glorify Him! That is the goal. Bless the Lord!!! Praise Him!!! Bless your heart, Spiritual Mom Beth:)

Dear Beth,

In the last paragraphs of your message God spoke directly to me. Thank you so much. At times it is so lonely and discouraging, but not for long, because He lifts us up, makes us laugh and fills us with joy! I grew up in the church, in a Christian home and
many days wonder if our present environment is what He wants for our children. Thank you for this message to stay faithful.

p.s. love your hair and nose!

Beth, thank you for the encouragement to press on...church planting in the South East has been the best and worst thing ever! Lonliness, rejection from those who feel threatened by you call to reach those "down the street" from another church...It gets hard to press on when youre not sure if your ministry counts for much. But He is not only Worthy, He is Worth it.

Thanks for your life that has inspired me to be a Christ Follower...My His peace be yours in abundance today.

Beth,
I just bawled as I got to your post about 'wondering from time-to-time if God knows you’re alive. There is no such thing as serving in obscurity when you belong to Jesus. He is attentive to your labor. He is attentive to your CRY.'.
Oh Beth, If you only knew how so very despertly I needed to hear this today, this week. I have felt lost, alone, and wondered on some days if it was 'worth it' to keep going.

What an encouragement your post was to me today. Thank you for seeing the 'little' person, not so in the spot light and offering a word to help us stay strong!

I am blessed by your honesty, your faithfulness, and your 'realness' to us each day as you share.

Beth, I am going to keep this one anonymous. In the past year, three women in my extended family left their husbands. I have been walking with Jesus since I was a tiny girl and prayed since I was little that I would marry a man I respected and adored and that loved Jesus as passionately or more than I did. Somehow what I thought was a man that followed hard after God is not. For almost 15 years I have walked through this marriage heartbroken and lonely, doing my best to be on my knees and in the word daily for the sake of my heart, our marriage, and our children. But my heart is running dry. This weekend as I considered the most recent divorce in our family and the reasons why, I despaired over being "stuck" as a believer in a very similar situation. I will not leave, but my heart so often wants to. Then I read your blog and these words popped off the screen: STAY FAITHFUL! Amazing. A bit sad, I admit (no room for chucking it all), but wise and true. So thank you again for a timely word spoken. Thank you for your transparency and steadfastness. And thank you for sharing in your studies of your struggles in marriage, and that if it weren't for your marriage and its difficulties, you wouldn't be the woman you are today. I've needed every word. You are a treasure - reflecting unspeakable Light.

Thanks for the encouragement, Beth. You'll never know how much that was needed! Living in Southern California as a born-again believer in Jesus Christ is not an easy thing. Heck, it's not easy anywhere anymore. I know the Word tells us that we will be persecuted, but seems like the level of opposition to truth has doubled in the last 6 months. My faith feels like it's getting a huge pounding - and I'm not sure it's holding up all that well.

Congratulations on this wonderful milestone in your ministry with Jesus!

Blessings to you,

Gretchen in Thousand Oaks, CA

Beth, I enjoyed Delaware. Drove a few women from the Monday night Women's Heart, God's Dwelling Place . ( We have met at my home for the last 4 years). This past year was our hardest test. My sister, Lynne, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last September. We trusted and believed God to heal. We saw miracles and God's grace at work but He chose to take Lynne home last March while I was visiting my daughter in Rome. We needed each other because two weeks prior, Lynne's youngest son of four Caleb, 20) was suddenly killed in a car crash. Our sweet , loving, and very close family was hit hard. We are sustained through the Lord alone. Some days are more difficult than others. Lynne loved the Lord from birth !! She was a faithful pastors wife, at the same church for 30 years, (that alone is a miracle!) , and loved her ministry to children. Our studies have helped prepare me and continue to encourage me during this sad time. Last night you talked about God's covering and passing through the cleft of the rock. I think that is why He had me in Rome. My Monday night girls have grown and love you too! Oh, by the way, I think my oldeat son Carson , would be a perfect match for M. He is a mighty man of God and handsome too!!

I don't know who is going to read this but I would love for Beth Moore to get this. I'm in a Bible study which is doing Stepping Up. I can't do it because almost every page Beth is talking about her wonderful family. Her daughter's and grandson. It's good that her daughter's are loved and her grandson is loved. That is not the case for eveyone. I have 3 boys who I wish had a grandmother like her. I know life is not fair but I'm finding it so hard to get through this Bible Study.
