A Very Special Day

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MY DARLING AMANDA!

I don't know how to change the font on a blog post or use a color but, if I did, I'd make these words HUGE and BRIGHT RED so see them that way in your precious imagination.

Well, young lady, you surely did change your mother's life. After being told I'd have infertility problems and need surgery to correct some female issues, I thought marriage had made me physically ill as I stood over the toilet only two months after our wedding day. It had been the shock of my life. Oh, I do love your Daddy but, boy, were we young and, boy, were we dumb. I told your grandmother that I wasn't feeling well and thought marriage was not agreeing with me and she was the first to diagnose my delicate condition. And with great laughter and joy. She adored you, Honey. You came at a difficult time in my family's life (has there ever not been a difficult time, come to think of it??) like a daisy pushing its way up amid a heap of rubble. All sorts of broken pieces found their way back together somehow. We had someone to spoil. To laugh about. To tend to.

You stole all our hearts. So smart. So loving. You talked like an adult by the time you were two. My mom tried and tried to get you to say you loved her more than your other grandmother (shame on her!) but you wouldn't budge. You insisted that you loved everyone the same. But I know it wasn't true. You liked me best. Grin. You, Darling Child, were the most welcome shock this family has ever had. I have never loved a person on this earth more than you. Nothing has ever left me more defenseless. You inspire me, act silly with me, tickle me, and simply make me want to be a better woman. I am so proud of you. Of the woman of God you've become. Of the mommy you are. Of the friend you are. The SERVANT I see you becoming.

As your little sister often says, "You gotta love the Noogs." You will always be the Noogs to us. And who on earth knows why? Where do we get these ridiculous nicknames, anyway??

Happy Birthday, Darling. I wish so much I were home with you. Thank you for making room for me to be here in New England. I'll be home before you know it and we will celebrate...and shop, Baby. We will SHOP.

I.Love.You.With.All.My.Heart.
Mom

Noogs- I can't wait til we are all together and we can party it up! There is no one else like you. You're the only slightly sane one in our family. I am not sure where we would be without you. Not far, for sure. We love you madly! As this picture below symbolizes, I always have and always will look up to you. Love, your sister.

Happy Birthday, Amanda. You are a treasure even to those of us who know you through this blog. Beth, with my firstborn, Greg, I told my mother I was either terminal or I was pregnant, but I guess they'd let her know which came first. Such good memories after the first four months! Love and prayers for you both, Annette

Oh, Beth, I am sitting here sobbing over your precious relationship with your daughter. I had that with my daughter up until 6 months ago. Something happened, we don't know what. Maybe postpartum depression, or just wicked, ugly depression. This is not our daughter. So hard. We are im absolute shock. She doesn't show any sign of caring and loving for her family. She is a Christian and has been since she was 10. She is a good mommy and wife, but she shows no signs of caring much at all about us,her brother and her grandmothers and aunts who love her so. She was our family's first too. The center of our lives. Now she is rebelling against everthing. We have shopped together all her 30 years. Now she tells me she hates to shop with me. Doesn't make any sense at all. Notour sweet, happy daughter. Unbelievable. Please pray for her and for all of us.

Hi Amanda,
Happy Birthday! I hope you have a wonderful day!

The other day I was watching Pride and Prejudice (the A&E version) and the character Jane kept reminding me of someone. I just could not think of who. Then the Lord told me - YOU! You are beautiful, gentle, sweet, wise and always look for the best in people.

I've spoken with you a couple of times and you truly radiate ALL of those things. Many blessings to you this wonderful day!

Have a happy day, enjoy it like no other. Birthday's rock and everyone needs to love each one of them. When else do you get a day that ice cream and cake and all sorts of 'bad' food, are not off limits for whatever reason! (And who makes ice cream off limits - that is just wrong on so many levels! haha)

Have a great day!

As she was leaving, she passed out - right at Ellis Jewelers. She was okay after awhile and later told her Granny about it. Great Granny said, you gonna have a youngun, sure as the world. HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMANDA!

What a beautiful picture! I always wanted a sister growing up. I have to say though, I have one brother that I absolutely adore. He gave me a sister when he married Jess, I do love her like she is my real sister. Of course, the best blessing is their sweet little girl, Bella Grace. I am not complaining now. No surprise, my daughter wants a sister, but it is not going to happen. That's what nieces are for!

Today is also my in-laws 40th anniversary.

October is a great month! I am a fall baby too and I love it! I hope that you have a good one!

Lots of love to you and your family!

You are such a great example of a Godly Mom. I know there have been challenges in your life. But what God has transformed is amazing. May your daughters lead by the example of what God has done and is doing in your life and theirs. Just to let you know how much I thank you for your obedience to the Lord. I read your Monday bog and felt someone was reading my heart and personal intimate stuff that only God could know. As I prepare for tonight through many tears I am expecting God to speak to my heart because I have felt like I am stuck. Thank you for your obedience even when it is hard to speak. May we give God all the glory for His faithfulness

Hi Beth. That was a beautiful birthday blessing for your daughter. My name is Julie. I am from the good old mid west. I also refer to it as the armpit of America. HA! I have been married for eight years to my husband Chris, and we have Three beuatiful children. I just wanted to say thank you for allowing God to use you for his ministry. I am doing Believing God right now at my church and I can't tell you the magnitude of the depth of how it is reaching me.......well let's just say God is giving me a spiritual whooping. (MUCH NEEDED!!!) All humor aside, I have struggled for a few years with trust, not only in God, but in the people around me as well. I am pretty sure I have been to the lowest point of my life, and sadly enough even there, I had a hard time believing God cared about me. I was raised in church and God saved me at the tender age of ten. I have wandered away from God several times, always returning back to Him. There was a time when I was so on fire for God, that I gave my testimony and said, "I may have a full time job at Bunge, but I WORK for the Lord!" I sit here ashamed to say that was almost eleven years ago, and the fire has been quenched. I sit and listen to you on your videos as you pour your heart out. It gives me hope to see that you are human too! That you have struggles just like the rest of us. Last night we watched session 5. You shared a story about how you were going to a speaking engagement with a man that you respected, but before you went to luch and he questioned you on why you put limits on God in your ministry. I can relate a little bit with you on this. I say little bit because I do mean a LITTLE bit. Please allow me to explain if you will. My husband and I have been through a lot in our 8 years of marriage. He has suffered from depression and attempted to take his life on two different occassions. I truly believe God used our children to save his life. We have lost cars, homes, lived with family, and are currently living with family. Financially we are trying to come back to the surface. Through all of this, I have felt God's calling on my life into the ministry. WHY? Why now? How can I even begin to minister to people when my own life feels like a shipwreck. God forgive me, but are you crazy? That is how I feel! I am in no position to argue with God. My heart is not where it should be. I am truly trying to give that to God. You have talked about your ministry and how you have come a long way, but I feel like there is too much baggage. Am I crazy to think this way? I shared with my small group that I feel like God wants me to do something and I am being a brat about this with God and keep saying no. I have a blog and I was blogging one day about this, and I was going on and on about how I am not learned enough or good enough. An anonymous person commented and said, God does not call the equipped, he equipps the called. OUCH! Everytime I think of this, it hurts. I am scared to trust that everything will be okay, and that He is absolutely sure He wants ME! I do so want God to use me! So why am I putting limits on God? I have no clue! I am honestly miserable arguing with God about this. I know in my church educated mind that God knows what is best for my life, it's just getting my heart to believe that is not so easy. It makes me sad to admit that, but it is how I feel. I just want to thank you for taking me one step closer to Believing God! I am closer, just not quite there. I know you are busy, but if you have the time, please pray for me. I am not too far from Chicago, so I will have to watch for any engagements you may have there. God bless you really big and good and deep! If you have the time, feel free to stop by my blog and see the beutiful family I have been blessed with at Georgepartyoffive@blogspot.com. Thank you so much!

Love, Your sister in Christ,

God bless your day with fun and the year ahead with His amazing grace for your life. II Corinthians 9:8 "And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things, at all times, having all that you need, you may abound to every good work."

Memorized at the Milwaukee Living Proof event 3(?) years ago. And prayed through many times since then! God gives a LOT of grace!

Okay, I have to leave another quick comment. I am really pathetic, I do have other things to do, I just can't help myself. I have to say something about Tanya's comment about the Pride and Prejudice movie. First of all, the A & E version is the only version. You are right, Amanda does remind me of Jane also. She is so sweet and she sees the best in everyone. I have a few "Jane's" in my life and I tell them that I wish I could be more like them. It is so easy to see that Amanda has such a sweet, gentle spirit and she is a Godly woman. You have to love God to be like her, there is no doubt. I loved your comparison though (even down to the sister thing, could Melissa be Elizabeth? Big Smile)....the A & E version is one of the best movies of all time!!!!! I never get sick of it! I'm sorry, I just got all riled up when I looked at your comment.

Amanda, if you don't have that movie, just post it and I will send one to LPM for you for your B'day (I'm serious, it is abominable if you don't own that movie)! Hope you had a good one girl!!!

Happy Birthday, dear sweet one! I honestly know that none of us (I mean the blog siestas) would be here with out you! After meeting you in person, you are just as precious and wonderful as they all say you are! I laughed so much with puzzlepiece sista about the fact that you went out of your way to make sure all of us siesta's felt loved, and then going ahead and giving out some special gifts to people that your sister, (God bless her slightly crazed heart) made fun of you for giving out, asking if you were going to give gifts to everyone?! You just kept going and ignored her, which I thought was very funny! I agree with others, your gentle spirit and love was so evident in San Antonio to all of us! However, I do believe you can hold your own- you are a passionate woman, passionate about Christ, your family, and others! I love you and your dear family so much! I am praying God's blessings on you today!

Oh, sweet Amanda, hope you had a very very sweet birthday! And what a special family you have!

You are VERY blessed to have such a special family!!!! I always grew up thinking that I had a family (specifically a Momma) that would be my very best friend for life, but when God began growing in me 15 years ago my momma started to withdraw from me. And when God blessed me with our 4th baby 8 years ago, she couldn't stand to see my husband and I give all of the glory to our God (we weren't supposed to have any more children because I nearly lost my life with our 3rd baby....but God, our ALMIGHTY, had another plan!!!!!)for our precious blessing (Rachel Elizabeth, and she is PRECIOUS!!!) my momma walked out of my life. I had lived in such a dream world that I never truly believed that someone would walk out of my life (especially not my MOM!!!!!!!!!) because of my faith in Christ, and my daily walk with HIM, but she did.....I do pray for my mom often, but I miss her like crazy! Especially when I see such awesome mother/daughter duos like you and your Bethie Momma :).
Hold tight to your momma, and to those precious babies of yours!

God bless you sweet sister!

Happy belated birthday, Amanda!!! I'm sorry it's late, but wow - what a week!

I remember that my best birthdays were the ones when I was pregnant! Sharing the day with that sweet precious one seemed to make the day more memorable.

God is being so cool with me right now. As I read the posts of the week, I'm blown away. My sweet group of ladies and I are going back and doing the study on Paul...and we just finished the week studying his discouragement after Athens that he carried into Corinth...and here it is the focus of Mama Beth's New England tour!

And...that picture of the two beautiful Moore daughters...Mama Beth, could you just bust with love and pride when you look at it? I wrote about something very similar on my blog about my two girls very recently. (I came back from San Antonio inspired. Still not writing tons, and I haven't figured out how to make the page cute yet...and it HAS to be cute!! But at least I've gotten started!) Praying like crazy that God pulls it all together in an amazing way!!

Love you all- Cindy
