The Passing of a Wonderful Dog

My Dear Siestas,

I’ve been needing to tell you something but it paled so dreadfully in comparison to the trials of those around us that I wouldn’t have dared share it when it happened. The mention of it would have been an insult. I’ve been looking for a time when we weren’t as mindful of terrible suffering, but the truth is, we daily become aware of astonishing hurts. Only yesterday someone shared another person’s loss in a blog comment that caused me to bawl my head off and get off my chair and onto the floor. This is embarrassingly minute in comparison. It’s just a Moore family thing but since you’ve been so involved in ongoing Sunny sagas, I feel like I should let you know.

On Wednesday, May 21st, I said good-bye to my beloved, faithful shadow and best friend of many years, Sunny. She was an unimpressive medium-size mixed-breed stray when she took up on my porch a jillion years ago but she has been my constant companion ever since and a source of much company and joy through some very lonely times. To tell you that I miss her is an understatement. It has yet to leave my mind.

Right around the time she got lost, she’d started getting really sick. At first, we thought it was an isolated thing but then she continued to have bouts. She got to where she cried much of the time so we knew she had to be in pain. After three different doctors and finally a referral to a specialty vet, we learned that she had a tumor on her spleen and that her liver was already “mottled,” indicating that disease had already spread to that organ. She was only comfortable when heavily medicated by a pain reliever and, if she was awake, she was nauseated. To let her suffer so was no way to treat such a lively, faithful pet.

I got to be with my girl, holding her gray face in my hands and telling her, through sobs, what a great job she’d done when she died. I still can’t recount it without crying. Keith buried her in my favorite place in my garden, right by my bench and surrounded by beautiful flowers. I can’t imagine ever having another little canine companion that will love me like that one did but, to be sure, one day down the road we’ll get another puppy. And she’ll have a hard act to follow.

I just wanted you to know what happened. You’ve been so sweet to care about all our dog drama. I have lots of perspective and am not even asking for prayer. Please spend that energy on people who are desperate to make it through this day. I'm doing fine, Sweet Sisters. Just a tad sad.

Thank you so much for your wonderful company on this pilgrimage with Christ Jesus. He is IT, isn’t He??

I love you like crazy.
beth

How much I can empathize, my first blog on here was about the loss of my precious Stitch. I lost him just last week. I RELATE, EMPANTHIZE, IDENTIFY and thank God for the chance to take care of one of his creatures for a brief time.
Blessings and my deepest sympathy for your loss. I KNOW how much it hurts. They are members of the family even if they have 4 legs!!

Dear Beth and Moore family,

I dearly adore you guys, I always wish I had you all in my life as my friends. I can't say I know your certain hurt, for each dog is such a blessing, but I recently lost my bestfriend, a 100lb Yellow lab named Sampson. Indeed that moment of farewell is beyond sad, and I know you say to give our energy to those who need it NOW - But beth, you are very important and as a friend (hopefully) I can tell you that my heart reaches to yours in understanding and love. Sometimes an animal touches us in ways a human can't. My hope in this comment is to let you know how blessed I am to be excited about Christ and his love with you, and if Sunny was even a part of that Joy of the Father given to you, I miss her dearly as well.

Love and Blessings,
Molly Summer

There is nothing like a long hard day at the office, or trying to deal with my stuff, to arrive at home to have Miss Daisy so THRILLED to see me when I have family members that are not.

I say that to say...being a tad sad is the understatement of the year, Girlfriend. My tears are just rolling as I can so relate with having to put down Sugar because at the age of two she had grand maul seizures. The last day was so difficult and I remember it as if it was just today. That is one time, that if I sit and reflect, I find myself not just gently crying, but sobbing. Sometimes this life is just DANG hard!

Love,
Yolanda

Tears are running down my face. AND- I am going to pray for you any way.

Last year we lost my husband's sister after a long illness, and we lost his best friend unexpectantly. We also lost our beloved Bob the cat. We have grieved over each in a different way. But grieved nonetheless.

I am an early riser. I drink coffee, spend time with God and Bob was always right there waiting at the back door. I would feed him , pat his head and then he went back to his bed to catch one of his dozen catnaps for the day. I still look for him.

We all understand perspective, but man, we all understand how sad you are in losing your buddy and we all love you very much.

I posted to you when Sunny was temporarily displaced...about my Baby Boy, my Honey Bunches of Oates...

My Honey....Mr. Gambler.

Sounds very similar, he was amiss and then was returned, and 6 months later the doctor told me he had lung cancer.

I took him home, cried and called my new husband of 2 weeks, and my Daddy. My husband came home, we went to the doctor's office and I too held him (I'm crying even now). My Daddy said "bring him home". He was a sable shepperd, beautiful, and perfect in every way.

It's been 11 years. It took me a little over 2 years to even ponder the thought of a new friend, a new family member. But now I have Nala, a 10 pound Min-Pin. I know one extreme to the other, right, but I just couldn't get another shepperd. She is 9 years old.

Peace be with you.

Dear Beth,

I am so sorry that Sunny has passed. As I saw the picture of the two of you, I couldn't help but to well up with tears... Pets are such a huge part of our family (as they are yours!) I know there are many memories that you will cherish for years to come, as you remember things she enjoyed and things you all did together.

We actually said goodbye to our 15-year old cat, Tabby, just one day before you said goodbye to Sunny. She too had been sick for a long time, and though we know her suffering is over, it is hard to say goodbye to a four-legged companion. They love you unconditionally, and that makes you ever more grateful for them:)

I am so glad that you shared this with us- We all love Sunny because of how you loved her! May your garden be sunnier because she is there.

I love you!

Bethie,
I know how you feel. I had to do the same thing to my faithful companian two years ago--I still cry for that silly dog sometimes. But don't feel bad about sharing. I know what you mean about it being not nearly as tragic as other events in others' lives. In the eternal perspective of things--of course it isn't. But Jesus is so in love with us that He delights in giving us special pets every bit as much as special friends etc. I believe it with all my heart. I learned a lot of tough life lessons with my dog beside me. I raised two boys with that dog right in the mix.

I remember (as a little girl) asking my grandmother if dogs and cats were in heaven. She said "yes" and don't let anyone tell you differently. A Sunday School teacher had told me "no" because they didn't have souls. (well meaning, but please!!) As an adult, I questioned that until Jesus laid this verse on my heart when I lost my beloved Scamper. "For I will go and prepare a place for you so that where I am, you will be there also." If Jesus is preparing that perfect place for me, I just KNOW that my childhood pets will be there. I really do. He's just sweet that way, ya know?
I am not a theologian or a scholar but I'd bet the farm (if I had one) that Sunny will be there in that perfect place when you go home our sweet Beth :)

Hugs and Kisses,

Jan

My heart goes out to you. Not a small thing, losing a pet. Not a small thing at all.

Our family dog, Gizzard (we inherited her from an elderly lady who tagged her with that totally southern name) died last year around this time much the same way as Sunny.

My husband buried her in our back yard under an ancient cypress tree. We found a concrete block on which I scratched the name "Gizzard" (all caps!) and a smiley face. My precious hubby then chiseled it out for her.

That dog followed me everywhere. It so annoyed me until one day my husband explained that she just loved me the way I loved Jesus. Made me nearly cry and certainly changed my outlook on the little shadow whose tiny feet tap-danced the floor right on my heels all day long.

I miss her because she did an aweful fine job of loving me as "woman's best friend."

Thanks for sharing this sacred Moore moment in time with us. And thanks for a blog that allows us to reciprocate our sacred moments with you and fellow sojourners.

Bless you Siestas and dog-lovers everywhere!

Because you mean so much to me, it means something to me also. I had a family pet that I had to do the same thing with- and I still bawled like a baby. In fact, when you told your story, it brought back mine. I am glad the LORD still see's our hurts and knows-He knows and He cares, no matter how small or gray it is. I love you friend- I'm sorry. I think your loss also involves more than just a dog, but a friend, Bible Study companion, and comforter (yes, comforter). Love you-

I confess to not being an animal person - so sorry! (Well, we have a cockatiel but more often than not I'd be happy to stick his tail in the shredder!) But I have friends who more than make up for my personality deficiency in animal lover department. Beth - your post made me cry and I'm so sorry for your loss and just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your perspective. You really can be over the moon about your best friend, grieve over the loss and still maintain the right attitude. Yes, Jesus is IT - and you're pretty cool yourself. You can't know how He has ministered to this soul through you - thank you for being faithful and so very real.

Dear Sweet Beth, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I love the picture. Can you see her up in heaven running and playing with God?
She will never get lost or sick again. You are so thoughtful to put others who are grieving the loss of a loved one first while you are grieving yourself. Beth, I pray for you all the time and this event will be no exception. God bless you during this time.

What a great picture of you two!! I am so glad that you were able to be with her to the end. You and your dear family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for sharing this difficult time with us. I am grieving along with you. When I was a kid I loved cats but the rest of family loved dogs and we never had a cat. Finally after many, many months of me begging and pleading we got a cat. She was older and we named her Gracie. She would set in my lap and just lay there when I was reading or sitting on the porch. She was MY cat. I was heart broken when we found out that Gracie had cancer and we decided to not make her suffer. That was around 20 years ago and I still remember that cat every time I see a gray cat.
I didn't have Gracie for as long as you had dear Sunny so I cant imagine the pain you are going through. But as I said you are in my prayers.
Love you dear Beth!

How sweet of the Lord to allow you to be with Sunny when she passed. The time of death is a holy moment....even with a dog. It makes me long for the day when there will be no more death. Come Lord Jesus!

I totally get it, Beth. Our faithful pug passed last January and I was shocked at how sad I was. But in the light of other things, it just didn't seem so important.

Once our pastor said that when animals are doing what they're supposed to do (being a companion, roaming in the woods, etc.) they glorify God. If ever there was a dog that glorified God by doing what she was created to do, it was our Ginger . . . . . and your Beanie. I used to comment that I should have named my pug Glory.

I understand, Siesta :-)

Beth: thanks for being sensitive, but loss is loss. I have a dad dieing of liver cancer and He has so represented the Heavenly Father to me in this life, that I can't imagine not having my earthly "abba" here. God uses so many things to show His love and compassion...and no Sunny isn't a Dad, but He's been used by God to love on you. I pray for good memories, peace and lots of love!

But, we can pray for you and your loss, as well. I love that she's near you, in that spot in the garden.

Yes, HE is IT. No matter when we can't make sense of so much grief, HE is IT.

Praying that Our Father will give you a hug and a kiss on the end of your nose.

Sunny, while not human and God's most perfect creation, was still a creation of our Lord and therefore deserves prayers and mourning. If I lost my dog, I would be devastated and having to put her down may be more than I could bear at that time. Please don't reduce her place in your heart because humans are suffering around the world. The Lord brought that wonderful creature to your porch all those years ago for a reason and it is to His Glory that we praise Him for the unconditional love Sunny brought you and Keith. I don't know if dogs go to Heaven, but I sure hope so. I can't wait to meet Sweet Sunny! Praying for you.

Yes, the loss of a dog does pale in comparison to other tragedies. However, anyone who has ever had a dog understands their connection to the family. My 10 year old Basset Hound, Dixie, died 2 years ago at the same time that some dear friends' precious 3 year old daughter lost her battle with cancer. I felt stupid for crying about a dog when they were mourning their baby. During one of my sob fests, my husband put his arms around me and told me that just because there were worse things happening in our lives, we were still allowed to be sad. We loved Dixie and we would miss her and it was okay to be perspectively sad for losing her.

I know you loved Sunny. She had a special place in all of our hearts because she was special to you. I also know you understand the difference between a dog and a person. No apologies needed. You can be sad and we can be sad for you and pray for you. We can also be sad about bad hair days, broken fingernails, and leaving a beautiful Coach purse on the floor where a certain 2 year old could spill chocolate milk all over it. Hmmmph. Those are minute things in comparison, but are still sad.

Especially the part about the purse.

*wink*

Dogs are so sweet. They show us what devotion to a master can be. They love us, and just wait patiently for our attention like any nod in their direction is their whole reason for being. How much more should we wait at our masters feet. What a wonderful example and companion God gave us in dogs.

What a beautiful picture! Yes, Sunny gave you many years of love, comfort and companionship, but you can see on her face that the love was definitely mutual! I once told a friend that something I was going through was small in light of other events in the world, and I felt selfish for being upset about my circumstance. She took my hand and said "that may be true, but if it matters to you, it matters to me." So Beth, it matters to all of your Siestas! We want to share in the big and the small. Oh Beth, I do understand! And, it's sharing things like this that make us seem like such good friends even though we've never met. We lost our own beloved dog, Wilson on May 13th. Suddenly and unexpectedly. He was barely past the puppy stage. I won't go into the details, but taking my 10 year old son to say good-bye after the vet recommended he "go to sleep" was honestly one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. I sobbed for the next 3 days. And, even though it seems trivial to talk about it with others b/c it's "just a dog", I do get the pain and sorrow. It's crazy isn't it?

Blessings to you, my dear friend. I will look forward to the future and news of a new puppy that will bring new joy!

Isn't it nice to share our deep love of pets with each other? It is a love like no other, and just as difficult to explain.

My sweetie is a 14 year old Scottish fold kitty. She only weighs about 5 pounds - she has always been little. She has a half stub for a tail which she waves in a circle wildly whenever she sees me. She is champagne colored witih some tabby markings and is just the softest thing! Her little folded ears make her look somewhat like an otter, but she is still adorable. Her name is Sukoshi, which in Japenese means "little bit." She was originally my parents' cat, but when they took a job that forced them to be gone a lot, she came to live with me. I have had her for 6 years. She talks to me constantly and is always, always by my side whenever my daughter is at her dad's house. It is almost like it is her personal mission to make sure that I am not lonely on those weekends. She is the cutest thing and I am thankful for her every day.

Much love to you, Miss Beth!

Beth, I am so deeply sorry for the loss of your beloved Sunny. I lost my own baby-dog, Bella, just two weeks ago. Bella was a priceless gift from God, as was your Sunny. They were manifestations of God's unconditional love for us.

I hope and pray that Psalm 145:9, 17 will comfort you: "The Lord is good to all; He has compassion on all He has made. The Lord is righteous in all His ways and loving toward all He has made." I just know that God, in His compassion and love, did not want Bella or Sunny to suffer in pain any longer. And now, they are both running pain-free on streets of gold! Glory!

Love you much,

Beth,
Any loss, big or small takes our breath away and takes time to heal from. I found comfort earlier this year when I miscarried (I'm not comparting a baby to a dog, just the sense of loss), when I simply opened up my hymnal and sang. God led my to "I Must Tell Jesus" and several other hymns that I could only half sing and cry through, but singing to Him and realizing His love and faithfulness all over again in the midst of the loss helped to heal my heart. For any of you struggling over anything big or small, I think the gift of music and praise to God can do wonders!
Love to all,
Rebekah

Beth, you are so precious to hold off on sharing your own sadness, in light of the deeper sadness aroud you. I am still just in tears over the Chapman family that I love so dearly. I thank you for your sweet post conerning them. They desperately need prayer. I am sorry for the loss of your sweet best friend. What a beautiful picutre of you two!

I too sit here with tears. Sunny's passing matters to you-it matters to us too! We are glad you shared with us. We can pray for you as we do for the Chapmans, there's enough room and breathe for both! He's the God of ALL comfort! I was reading today how Jesus was deeply moved, troubled and wept, not because Lazarus was dead but because Mary was weeping. He weeps with us when we weep and He definitely cares-no matter four legs or two! Sunny is in your mansion in heaven-waiting on you! (my cat-"Little one" is in mine). We will pray for you and the others that need it too!!You are too precious to us!!!

I am so sorry, dear Beth. It is more than a tad sad to me for you to lose Sunny. And I'll pray simply because I love you, and it's part of where you are right now.

We, too, buried our cat Smokey two nights ago. I got her for Chris 18years ago, when we were dating--he was at A&M and I was at UT. She was a good cat, but like Sunny was crying all the time. She was in pain, and it was time.

We love YOU dearly and pray with you and for you and for all the things that are concerning you. That's just another of the blessed parts of this crazy wireless world we live in--we can know better and sooner how to pray.

Praying for each member of your family and staff this moment.
Love,
holly

Beth - You get 5,ooo comments so I don't if you'll ever see this but I also lost my beloved dogfriend, Jot, just a few weeks ago. He had an unexpected accident and my husband had to put him down while I was at a women's retreat, of all things. He told me over the phone just a couple of hours before I was to speak -- crazy. I was so lonely without him we went to our local animal shelter and picked out a puppy. He does so many things just like Jot. It's weird and comforting at the same time. Anyway, I know how you feel. I'm sorry! Jeanette

No need to apologize. In fact, as a siesta I would have been hurt if you hadn't shared this with us. That's what we're here for, to share the hurts and joys and "stuff" of everyday life and lift each other up, especially our beloved "leader". I'm so thankful you got to be with Sunny in her last moments. Last year I had to put my furry-hearted best friend of over 18 years, my cat, to sleep. I was a basket case for weeks. Even though the Lord has blessed me with another wonderful 4-footed friend, I still miss my KitKat. She too got me through many difficult days, and I picture her taking cat naps in my mansion in heaven, waiting for me.

Praying for you and your family!
(((hugs)))

I totally understand. My dog was attacked last night by a mean breed and while he is ok, I cannot get the picture of the mean dog with my dogs face in his mouth out of my head. I am still upset about it today. I am sorry you lost your dog, I cannot imagine losing mine. I will be praying for you.

Thanks for sharing, and thanks for keeping it in perspective! While animals can be great fun and companions, they are not what the Kingdom is about. However, that does not mean we are not allowed to enjoy the animals and take care of them and be sad when they die, but don't give in to human compassion or emotion, because in heaven, there are no emotions, only pure Joy 24/7! anyway, keeping things in the right perspective is an important part of the Kingdom. We can enjoy things and animals, but they are not to be what we puruse or seek...love you sisters!

How blessed she was to have you in her life Beth...I am so sorry for your loss. I too know the grief when a four legged friend is laid to rest..I will pray for you anyway as I always do..This verse came to mind for you as I read your blog. From beloved animals, the passing of loved ones or the loss of a job these verses have never strayed from my heart..He comforts us in all of our troubles..

2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Praise be to God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who comforts is in all our troubles, so we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.

I pray you feel His comfort right now...With great love, Angie

Our faithful, endlessly loving Father gave us our animal friends for a reason, and I don't think any of us here would deny you one bit of grieving time for Sunny's passing. My husband and I always talk about how animals are so pure and blameless, without sin, and of the most solid, upright character, and it's no wonder we crave time with them. We learn so much from them, through them, and with them, and I know that I find myself wishing more than a little that I could exhibit more of the characteristics that our own sweet little furry friends do.

Miss Beth, I imagine yours is the last face your precious Sunny saw on this side of eternity, and I pray that hers is among the first that greets you when you reach that side of it. You didn't ask for prayers, but please know they're being sent for you.

Much love to you,

Oh, Miss Beth, I'm so sorry. I know how much your animals mean to you. I'm the same way. The day I left for Boise to go to your conference I couldn't find my cat to say goodbye before I left. I could not stop thinking about her and I thought about your Sunny and how you got her back and was praying for the same thing for my baby girl. And she's young so I couldn't stand the thought of her dying. Especially right now while I'm dealing with so much stuff from my past. I couldn't take it right now. I need my baby. She did come home. She was apparently roaming the neighborhood hunting. It was a rare nice day in Idaho (like you said we turned up the heat for you.) and she wanted to be out hunting birds and stuff, so that's where she was. She came home that night for dinner. And she's as healthy. And now she's completely back to normal, comes in my room in the morning as soon as she hears me stirring to get her morning lovin's. And I probably just made you miss your Sunny more. I'm so sorry. I'll shut up now.

Dear sweet Beth, I'm very sorry for the loss of your precious Sunny. In 2002, we bought a teacup chihuahua a few months after I began having panic attacks, and many times just holding onto my little Coco when no one else was available helped to ground me. Her puppy antics also helped me laugh and center my thoughts on something other than myself. In 2005, she developed a brain tumor and had to be put down. I didn't think I'd survive the empty void in my heart. I've never been more emotionally attached to a pet in my life, and I'm sure you feel the same since Sunny came to you during your own season of despair. In 2006, I prayed for another chihuahua and the Lord led us to one last January. We bought her from a lady that lived behind Luby's Cafeteria, so I named her Luby. She is perfect, healthy, and has stolen my heart. When you're ready, God will provide again.

Beth,
My precious, faithful Sadie of a zillion years fought hard to stay with me when something hit her violently and suddenly in the night. She too was my shadow and companion when I thought I was SO alone. GRACE flowed from her like I've never seen in an animal. I often told the Lord (and others) that if the Lord flowed through dogs, she was completely surrended to Him. I've had alot of loss in my life and she ranked up there in degree. I have missed her SO!! I understand your heart. I too held Sadie and told her how amazing she had been and how terribly I would miss her. I had her cremated and spent a beautiful day in sunny Orlando (and I might add that the Lord provided an awesome breeze to help me!!) spreading her EVERYWHERE I could imagine she had enjoyed life. It was so good for my heart!! That was March a year ago and just yesterday the Lord gave me another dog from Canine Companions for Independence. She was in training for someone who would need her and couldn't finish the training process. All day I have remembered Sadie once more and am beginning to allow my heart to move on...
Love to you, Kristi

Beth,

My prayers are with you. So kind of you to honor those trials that have been happening recently. No apology needed though. It is hard to let go of a 4 leg companion. I have had to do that and it was hard. It is soo sweet that you were able to be there with her as she passed on. I was off at college when my mom called me with the bad news that my dog had been posioned with anti-freeze and that she had suffered for so long. Seems like yesterday that it happened and it has been 2 years. Mom called me yesterday and she had developed some random film and there was a picture of me and both of my babies sleeping. I actually lost both of them within months. The cat accidently got out and dissappeared in the country at my home. It was hard. THose two girls helped me get through alot of dark times. So my prayers are with you and your family. THank you for all you do for us.

Dear Beth -

When our Miss Minnie, a 16 year old solid black cat, went to heaven, our vet gave us this poem. My heart goes out to the Moore family. I have been there !! You are all precious in our daily thoughts.

"Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Author unknown..."

Miss Beth,

Our God is infinite, not only in His existance and presence, but in His love and care for His children. He sees your hurt and hears our prayers for you and that in no way competes with the love and care and open ear he has for the hurts of others.

My husband and I just got a puppy a month ago, and my heart is totally his. he got sick right away and we've had to treat him with antibiotics to get rid of his "kennel cough". I know the feel of the worry for our little ones. Their pain sometimes seem all the more hurtful to us because, unlike humans, they cannot really reason through it or pray through it or see the plan through it, they just plain feel pain.

Thank you so much for sharing with us, and thanks for sharing the beautiful picture with us.

Your siesta,

Sweet Beth,

My heart goes out to you. My tears flow.

Years ago, I was a youth leader in a little church in SW Florida. Small youth group and most of the kids came from rough homes. I recall trying to teach them about God’s unconditional love. They couldn’t understand it. Never been demonstrated to them. I was only 20-21 years old. Not much wisdom, but God put on my heart to explain His unconditional love was like what you experience with a pet dog. No matter what happened that day or even how you treated your pet, that sweet pet dog would be so glad to see you and love you like crazy at any opportunity.

It was like the electricity came on…they got it! They really got it. Got HIM. All because of God’s unconditional love demonstrated through His precious pet animals.

Psalm 107:15 “Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds.”

Love in Sweet Jesus,

Susan

Dear sweet Beth,
I am so sorry that you had to say goodbye to Sunny. Several years ago our Springer Spaniel Gypsy got sick. She was 13 years old but up until about 5 months before her death she had been so full of energy that she still seemed like a puppy to us. Like you, I chose to be with her and held her on my lap while she was euthanized. It was very important to me to provide that comfort for my faithful and loving Gypsy and I have never regretted my decision. I believe God's command to LOVE ONE ANOTHER is not limited to humans only. Thank you for sharing with us. Many of us have been where you are and feel honored to be able to support and pray for you. Much love, LINDA

When you celebrated Sunny coming home a few weeks ago, we celebrated.

And when you grieve him going home right now, we grieve.

And that's just the way it should be.
