On the other end of the leash...

...was a very bad dog named Beckham Jones. We'd had one fiasco after another just trying to get to the park, including him getting out of his collar while I was being a good neighbor (picking up his business from someone's yard). Then he took off after two squirrels and I went airborne before skiing behind him through some wet grass. When we finally got to the swing set, all the children in the park squealed in unison and came RUNNING over to visit with him. They were sitting all around him, which is why I didn't have many pictures of Beckham to choose from for the blog. Here you have it - the Vice President of the Bad Club. Beanie is the President Emeritus.

Jackson's Jesus Journey Continues ~
I am laughing so hard right now that I almost wet my pants. Didn't mean to be so forthcoming but the blog is hilarious. I can imagine the whole thing. Grammy Beth being pulled by a dog chasing squirrel's and cleaning poopie in the yard ~ while Amanda is trying to take photos. :)

Taking my Barnabas, a Doxie and not nearly as BIG as the Jones' doggies, to the park with my toddler is just as dangerous and FUN!! You must have been desperate to get both yer 'toddlers' out of the house. :) Believe me, I know the feeling. The four walls of a house can get to be feeling tight after a while; esp. back here in the East where Old Man winter just WON'T let up (we're expectin' another 3in. of snow again!). Thankfully, time in the word keeps me energized with a song in my heart. It helps to have some Veggietales and Hermie and Wormie on for my toddler too. Nothing like some good humor while learning about God's word. Keep smilin' Grandma-Bee!

I really can't blame Beckham for his delight in wanting to get to the park with THAT reception!! He must think those kids just sit at the park and wait for him to show up to make their day, and it's his job to go make them happy. Those furry critters aren't smart enough to know that they are supposed to be in the trees, so he has to remind them and chase them back up there.Everything is logical, in HIS mind anyway. But of course, it comes out rather humorous. I have a husband, 4 kids, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 1 guinea pig. You have to keep your humor about you, and your communication lines open to the Father (both ways). Thanks for these peeks into daily life. It's a blessing. Kay in AR

How does grandma do it??
Beth looks like the mama, not the grandma. This grandma knows and understands the wonder of being a grandma for the first time and I enjoy lots of fun at the park with my granddaughter but I really look like her grandma. Beth you are truly beautiful inside and out.
Blessings,

Dear Beth, We are studying The Patriarchs and the other night you mentioned that your husband prays for you and for us. This touched my heart, my own dear husband went home to be with the Lord a year ago and I know that he lifted me up every day and it is nice to know that someone else is doing this for me. Bless you both in your ministry. Lois Matheus

"skiing behind him through some wet grass" reminds me of the time I thought it would be great exercise to go roller blading with an Akita. Needless to say, it was more like roller skiing!! You can't imagine how fast you can go in roller blades with a big dog pulling you. lol!! I do believe that my 8 month old (today) puppy could because a Star member of the Bad Club.

Oh my, Amanda...I have this image of you skiing behind your dog and wish I could draw because I think it would be an award-winning cartoon!!

FYI - Tell your Mom that the story from the Simulcast that Angela Cottrell wanted me to be sure and get to her is on my blog. I had so many who wanted to read it that it just seemed easier to put it there. If she gets a chance, she can see it there, as well. www.doricook.wordpress.com

I love this blog, by the way!! It has already been the catalyst to connect me with an old friend from more than 20 years ago.

I wondered about that...Well, at least you have your hands full! They both look great with Beth being there in the middle. She looks great for a woman who has been all over the globe in just over a week! Are the dog and the baby great friends? Later, they will probably help each other out in their covert operations! Just remember, when it's quiet, that could be a very bad thing! That friendship could make a great story. I want your mom to write about her friendship with her dog.

I know this is totally off the subject BUT definately worth a post...I am a New York girl and we totally got slammed today with a major snow storm...a few days ago it was 60 degrees and now today we were "blessed" with a foot of snow. We were excited to have one last "stay in our jammies day." Then I remembered "the sacred recipe"...what a perfect day to attempt it. We all just finished our first bowl...it was out of this world scrumptous!!! "My man" was out plowing and I was able to "Bless" him with a big bowl when he came home. This is now at the top of the list for a family favorite!! So, for my first post, I thank you for the recipe...your ministry has warmed my heart and now you have warmed our bellies!!!

While I should go in there and stop her, it is too dang cute!! So, enjoy him while he's one.. two will be here soon enough!!

I'm not so sure Beckham or Beanie gets the Bad Dog prize...If I could attache the picture I would, since I can't I'll describe it. I have a picture of a dog just about the SAME size as Beckham INSIDE the dishwasher licking the dirty dishes. Notice I didn't say standing on the open door of a dishwasher licking the dishes? He is actually sandwiched between the racks facing out licking the dirty dishes...BAD DOG!!! I also have one of my dog standing on my dining room table helping himself to Christmas leftovers that hadn't quite been cleared. I wish you could have heard my Mother screaming to get the dog off of the table as I laughed and snapped pictures of the fiasco. Thanks for the laughs.

Hello ladies!
Thank you so much for proving that life can be fun and full of JOY and freedom and peace with Jesus! Yall are true examples of the scripture, "follow me as I follow Christ." That is the motto I am told to live by as I work for YL but I fail to have seen in my own life as of late and I so want it back! I'm afraid that life has been choking me and I'm letting it, my flesh and satan win. It is so hard! But I get in scripture, read these silly, yet uplifting things, etc. and I am reminded that I can do it...just as my church devotional suggested today. Oh that I may! May I be a forgiving and free woman like you! Thank yall for the true LIVING PROOF that He is real and it is possible! I am done rambling now. Nice pics...yall are great! And Jackson is so very cute! Wish I could babysit...I love little ones! :)

What fun pictures! I've never seen any granny look so beautiful for a day in the park. Amanda I love the doggie stories. We lost our beloved black lab a few years ago. He was only three. It hurt so bad my husband gave up duck hunting and our son went off to college and just hunts with friends dogs now when he can. We've just never been able to bring ourselves to get another one. It hurts too bad to lose them. So we just love on everyone else's. I have weak moments occassionally but never can do it. Now we have a precious 4 month old granddaughter that we can't get enough of. I was babysitting all day on Friday and Granny Beth as I'm sure you know carrying around 16 extra pounds of human flesh all day causes you to feel soreness in your muscles and bones that you've never felt before. But, it's so much more fun than going to the gym. It is literally an all day work-out! I fell into bed at 10:00 p.m. and just rolled out about 7:00 a.m. and I still hurt. No it's really not that bad, it's the best tired I've had since my own were just babies. Can you relate? I wish I was holding her right now.
Thanks, you sweet and fun girlfriends for sharing your fun and tiring and trying times with all of us and letting us do the same. I've always said Christian women just know how to have the most fun of anybody on this earth! Gotta go now and see if my legs will run 4 this morning. Help me Jesus!

Hi Amanda and Beth,
Thanks so much for sharing your life experiences with us. I, too, could just visualize the skiing through the wet grass - so funny!

I had my grandchildren (5 and 17 mos) for 5 days this week while my son and daughter-in-law went to NY. We had a blast at the park everyday. The weather was beautiful and my 5-year old granddaughter had her first view of crawdads as some boys were catching them in the creek at the park and she was delighted! I have been breaking her into Travis CD's since she was very little. On Jennifer Rothschild's website over Christmas, there was an elfmorphosis where you could put your picture on an elf's body and send a message or song and the elf would dance around and say your message. I sent one to Nancy (my granddaughter) and she sent one back to me where she was singing the Shackles song. I laughed my head off.

Andrew, my 17 mo. grandson had a blast also at the park climbing up the ladder and sliding down the slide and he would just giggle when he got to the bottom every time. What precious memories! I know that you two have had a blast with Jackson and I love the pictures!

Love,
Your sista in Alabama - Dianne

Dear Beth and Amanda,

You have no idea how excited I am that I found your blog! I stumbled across it last week thru the 5MinutesForMom Party.

I have studies your Bible Studies Beth for about 7-8 years, and I'm looking forward to more!

Most recently, I saw you Beth in Redmond, WA. I'm the little gal who went down to the stage with a letter for you, the bodyguard or manager (whoever was with you) .....you said he wouldn't allow you to receive anything on stage. So then I gave one of your staff the letter with my name & email on it. You will not ever know how much you blessed me by writing back! It was death this last year for us to lose our daughter, and I'm so glad that letter was given to you for you to contact me ;o)

I started a blog in 1/07 about the experience with our daughter, and our new adventures to adopt a child or two domestically. Please feel free to join me on this adventure. Although, I go by an alias name on the blog, the name Esther, as I fight for the rights of the orphans, as Esther fought for her people. I go by the alias as we are in the middle of litigation with our old adoption agency & there is current US & Russian investigation into our old adoption agency. Beth, you have my real name & email address, etc.

Bless you ladies!!!

Looks like a fun time Granny!!! We just got back from Houston where we spent a couple of days with our five grandchildren. What fun!! The highlight of the trip was when my nearly 12 year old grandson zoomed up behind me, while we were taking a walk, on his inline skates - threw his arms around me and said, "I love you Grandma. It's such fun when you come to visit." It just doesn't get any better than that.
So glad you got this precious time with Amanda and Jackson.

Oh Beth! Are you REALLY reading this?! I was in your Houston study when we did John the Beloved Disciple and I had my pic made with you on the night of the Wedding Feast. Of course, I was the ONLY person you posed with, right? ; ) I live in the Dallas area now, but regard that study as one of the most life changing experiences for me, not to mention I won a gift certificate from a pizza joint for carpooling...HA! I first met you on the second to last night of the Believing God (my first time to attend) study when you were recording. You said that you had never really done what you were about to do before which was take time out before you started the teaching to pray for someone dealing with infertility. I about fell down right where I stood! It was my first time there and you said that to me (and a few others). You were so sweet to pray over me at the end even though I was a complete stranger. Now I am the blessed mother of a precious little girl from China who is four years old. Thank you for all you do and for being so transparent. I don't worship you, but I certainly do adore you. You are my kinda BIG-HAIR-TEXAS-GIRL! Don't know how you'd have time, but please feel welcome to come on over to pandapalooza.blogspot.com to see pics of my BIG hair and my precious PandaGirl.
Blessing to you!

My 10 year old son, Grant, walks our dogs everyday. Our chocolate lab was getting huge and was beginning to run HIM. The first day of Christmas break, Grant had the bright idea to put on his skates so he could keep up with her. Everything was going well until our lab saw a cat and suddenly took off. She jerked his feet out from under him and he hit the pavement scraping most of the skin off his chin, knees and elbows! All of our Christmas 2006 pictures show Grant's unfortunate adventure.

Note: I'm sending this a second time cuz I think the first timed failed...

Hi Gorgeous Girls (and one adorable boy and ornery dawg!)- I loved the pictures and commentary. What a hoot!

FYI: We have the sweetest black, mini schnauzer puppy you could possibly imagine. Not to rub it in or anything. Ha! But, it's no wonder! My teenage daughter prayed for a year and a half that God would provide us with a puppy, Molly's her name, just like the one we lost to pancreatitis, our first black, mini schnauzer name Gabby. Isn't God so good to display His love to my daughter that way? He stoops down to our seemingly unimportant pain and works His miracles all the same. What a sweet Daddy!

Oh, and one more thing. I am completely envious of your grass!! We are still up here in the great white north freezing our tata-s off. You know that saying, "Friday's here, but Sunday's coming!" Well, up here we say, "Winter's here, but Spring is coming!" Thank you, Jesus! Bring it on.

Well, I better hush and mush!

Love ya,

I just have to share this cute story with all of you...This morning I made a quick stop at the computer with my 2 year old daughter, Charlotte. I wanted to show her some pictures that a family member had sent via email. Then I quickly checked the LPM Blog. She wanted to see the pictures of Beth, Beckham and Jackson. So I told showed her the pictures of "Mrs. Moore and baby Jackson at the park". She loved seeing them. Next, we went to play with some play-doh together. Charlotte was busy making some small pink and blue pizzas...one for Mommy, one for Daddy, one for her brother, one for the neighbor, and don't you know...she made one for Baby Jackson. AND, she wanted him to come over and get his pepperoni play-doh pizza. If only NJ was closer to Texas! :-)

We drove back through Moore County tonight and God was all over the sunset with many various shades of pink! Thought you'd like to hear that!

Praying for ya'll this week at LPM!

OH & I finished Get Out of That Pit in Texas (thought that would be right fittin'). I think that God has used your book in a way that really surprised me! It was the part about "Consent." I think, as I read, that the Lord spoke to me "Holly, sometimes you 'consent' to people (to please them) contrary to what I've said in My Word and that is not 'consenting' to Me." It blew me away! I think sometimes we want to make everyone so happy, and somehow we lose ourselves (the one God is making us to be) in the process.

Good writing Beth! I hope that I didn't take what you wrote too far out of context. But let me tell you, it brought freedom to this child.

Bless you sista!

I have laughed all morning after reading this... But I must say if Beckham is the Vice President of the Bad Club, My Rocky is the owner and founder. I think the club has a secret code on how to behave when going to the park. I too have skied across grass as my "Bad to the Bone" dog chases uncatchable rabbits and squirrels. Thanks for the laughter this morning.

Beth,
So glad you're back on Tx turf, returning to your birds and your somewhat normal schedule, and of course, that precious Jackson boy. I laughed rereading your note about the "bad dog club" because my dog now thinks I've taken a wrong turn and gone bad myself. The wind just lifted her frisbee up, up and away, much to her confusion and bewilderment. In her little mind, it strangely disappeared and I was to blame. Well, my toss had much to be desired but come on, would I just throw her beloved toy to the wind like that?:)

Thank you for taking the time and effort for writing the book and being the reader of, "Out of the Pit" audio cds. The past 3 weeks I've driven over 2200 miles accompanied only with the Lord and your voice speaking truth into my ears. I, too, am an "x-pit-dweller" thankful for God's grace, deliverance and resortation. The book, though listened to in its entirety, continues to play, blessing through the daily scripture-prayers associated with Cry Out, Confess, and Consent. What a refresher for my mind as traffic and the hustle of everyday life begin to dim, as prayer breaks out. Many thanks to the Father for all He's done through your availability but even more of a praise, for who you are in Him.
