Almost Home

Y'all, the eagle has almost landed. They made it onto their connecting flight from Newark. Praise the Lord.

I'm about to do some laundry (fun!) and watch One Night With the King. It's a new movie about Esther. Maybe it can hold us over until the study comes out. I've heard it's great!

I am glad they have almost made it home. I have been thinking of them and praying they get some much needed rest the rest of the week. I bet they can't wait to get home. It is fun to travel but it is always nice to get back home. I have seen One Night With The King. Overall it was a good movie and after having studied and taught Esther and reading Finding Favor with the King, I can't wait until Beth's study of Esther is available! My class is doing Priscilla Shirer's new study, Discerning the Voice of God. It is very good and I am loving the homework.
As for laundry, I don't mind to it, I just hate to put it away. I am trying to get better with that.

Father God, we thank you for protecting Beth and Keith and for showing off for Beth and delighting her. I pray that they get a good nights sleep and that they will be well rested through out the rest of the week. I praise you and thank you and you alone are worthy to be praised. In Jesus name, Amen.

Welcome Home Beth and Keith!!!

Amanda,
Did you enjoy the movie? I thought it was really good.

I can hardley wait to hear all the exciting stories your parents will share with us about their trip. They are probably flying nearby as I am typing.

I can almost see our Sistas waiting to hear and just dying to ask, "Well, what did God do? We know He really showed out this time!"

Love to all in Christ,

So glad they're almost home! There's nothing quit like coming home from a trip and stepping out onto Texas ground! (At least if you're a Texan)
It has been a joy to pray for your mom and dad and crew. God is so good to take care of them, bring us "sistas" closer together and bring each of us closer to Him.
I pray that we all get a good night's sleep!

Oh Glory Be! I am so glad as are hundreds of others. I loved the last blog from someone that said it felt like we were all ready for Christmas to start and were waiting for the guests of honor to show up. I heard that movie was great- let us know! Man- I am so all over that laundry comment- it just seems to increase with children and their small little socks that constantly are getting lost in the wash! It took me years before I realized that laundry time could be my ultimate prayer time, because no one wanted to do laundry with me! It's all good now! Looking forward to hearing all about the trip! Blessings to you Amanda, we are so grateful for you!

Hi Amanda, Thank you for the updates on your mom and dad. It is a honor to pray for them. A few of my bible study gals and I are going to see your mom this weekend in San Francisco. We are a bunch of hormonal, hot flashing ,fifty year olds. (ok, some are a few years younger!)We are so excited to see what God will do! This is our third conference and we are having the time of our lives.(We have also blown the electricity out of our hotel with our blow dryers!) Thank you for sharing your mom with us! I just saw One Night With The King.It was a little hard to follow in the beginning, but since I've done the Daniel study, I'm much smarter now!

Amanda--I fell in love with you this week. You are a dear. Wish I could take YOU to Starbucks for all you do to keep us connected, and maybe to commiserate a bit about how the laundry never ends when you're a mom...

I rejoice with you Amanda! Praise God from whom all blessings flow! Can't wait to hear from your Mom about all that God did on her behalf. But please tell her to take her time (you, too) to rest, and enjoy being home, and with her family and sweet grandson!
I've seen the movie and it's wonderful. One of my favorite lines from the movie is toward the end when speaking of King David, Esther says..."it is not that he fought well, but he believed well."
I shouted out loud and did the "I'm believing God" sign! Praise You, Lord!
Enjoy your time with your momma, sweetie!

Jackson’s birthday, the zoo, and more
How precious could he be?
Darlin’ weaned child he is 
Thank you Amanda for the pictures we see!

Chicken and Dumplings we will make
And recipes we’ll share
Oh yes! We fight for the pregnant ones
One small mug? … Don’t even dare!

Awake at 3, awake at 5
You sweet ones keeping watch through the night
Asking God to be so big
Even keeping Beth and her hair from a fight

Psalms of Ascent and Esther too…
Beth – Everyone is glad you’re now home
Praying you get to ‘descend’ precious one
In your pj’s for rest, from your sweet Jesus alone

I know you will be glad to see your momma! ;)

Hope you enjoyed "One Night with the King" as much as I did. I thought it was really good; however, I was a little disappointed how the story line with Mordecai was played out when the King returned from his journey and saw Esther with him and thought she was "cheating" on him. Anyway, good film. Glad to hear all are safe and have returned home. I'm one of your Mother's biggest fans. I'm attending her conference in September in Nashville and am looking forward to it.

A study on Esther is in the works?! I can't wait! No one can do a study like your mom!!!
I didn't see the movie yet, but I did read the book~ though it was a good book and really kept my interest, I don't think it was entirely Biblical. I guess you have to take some liberties when writing a fictitious book based on fact.
Anyway, how was the movie?

love it...the eagle has almost landed...praise the Lord. Thanks for keeping us posted. It has helped me know how to pray during my night watch for this trip. Did you enjoy the movie...saw it in the theater and I loved it. At the same time "One Night with the King" was showing in our area another movie came out also..."Facing the Giants"...that was the one that absolutely touched my heart. There were scenes that spoke so deeply to my spirit...so if you haven't seen it...you are missing out for sure.

So glad they made it home. I loved the movie, "One Night With the King." She was so brave and probably the best Cinderella story in the Bible. Yet, it wasn't about the pretty dress and glass slippers that changed at midnight. She changed a nation--and I love it when Mordecai tells her she was born for such a time as this...one of my favorite verses to remember when I need to be brave and do the Lord's Will. Praising Him this morning for a safe trip and can't wait to see the outtakes over the Feast of Purim. My daughter pulled out all her pictures from Israel this weekend (she lives in Ft. Worth) and we just sat in awe of most of them. I can't even look at the Garden of Gethsemane picture without tears thinking of Jesus's plea to the Father, "Take this cup, if it is Your Will- But not my will, but Yours be done." A good prayer to start this day...May blessings of rest and restoration to Beth and Keith, and a sense of pleasing the Lord be theirs today.

One Night With the King . . . I had anticipated great things from this film with such a powerful Biblical story, some well-known actors (Omar Sharif, Peter O'Toole, John Rhys-Davies) and a reviewer who described it as "created in part to provoke nostalgia for Hollywood's grand historical epics". I was left disappointed, however. I didn't feel that the film carried like a grand epic; it was hard to deeply connect with the characters or find them believable (especially Haman); the story seemed to get bogged down. What did you think?

Yes, I am looking forward to the study on Esther. This has been my favorite story since I was little. That God could use a woman to save a people was inspiring for me. We females need to know He can and will use us.
Anyway, Beth, do you feel the love? I am not you and I have been touched by the love displayed by your sistas the last few days. We are glad you're back safely in the nest!

Amanda,
Oh, the movie is great!! I do have some questions about some of the facts they give during the movie. I compared them to scripture and I still have questions. Maybe your mom will answer them in her study. I am so looking forward to the Esther study and plan to facilitate it at my church when it is available. I pray that the Lord will continue to use both you and your mom to teach us how to walk closer to Him. Have a blessed day!!

So glad your Mom is almost home safely. Enjoy the movie, Amanda. But, I must tell you, it's not completely biblical. We had just studied the book of Esther with my SS class before the movie came out. We went as a class to see it (high school girls) and all the girls left disappointed because it wasn't true to scripture.

Oh, the excitement of their return, I can feel it too!
I am so looking forward to a study in Psalms and of Esther. That movie (One Night with a King) is fantabulous!! I took my 14 year old daughter to see it and am so blessed that her rebellious heart was so touched and moved, it's now one of her favs!! And now she even makes her girlfriends watch it over and over with her!

What a blessing that God can take our heap of sin and turn it around and use people like your mother to change the lives of many, many people. It gives me sooooo much hope!!!
Yeah Jesus!!

One Night with the King is my FAVORITE movie right now. THAT is why I can't wait till the study comes out. I was never so interested in Esther until I saw the movie. I just watched it on Monday night. (I own it 'cuz I love it SOOOOOOOO much) PLEASE let me know what you think. There is a particular line in the movie that I LOVE. I won't put it on here just in case people haven't seen it, but it's about the way David fought and WON the fight against Galiath! Can't wait to hear your thoughts.

love you,

Amanda,

Praise God for bringing your parents home safe!

One night with the King is a really good movie... what is best about it is - other than the fact of amazing usage of a simple and humble girl to being a nation's deliverer is that the costumes and the setting (some of it is from India) and that also touches my heart dearly (because I am from India)...The movie ending was not what I expected it to be - Like when she reveals her true jewish identity to the King ... but I can understand it has to be spiced up.

I am eagerly awaiting Beth's Bible Study on Esther!
