Angola Slide Show

Here are some of the pictures from Angola that Janice shared with me last week. There were so many to choose from! I know you will be blessed by seeing the beautiful faces of the children that LIFE Outreach International has the privilege of serving through their Mission Feeding program. We have already talked a lot about this, but I wanted you to have the chance to see these pictures.

Some of the images are difficult to look at, such as the ones from the clinics. You'll see very skinny infants who are actually toddlers. Malnourishment horribly stunts the children's physical and mental growth. Janice explained to me that babies do okay until they are weaned. After that, it is very easy for them to go downhill quickly. It might take a while for an adult to die from malnutrition, but it can happen very quickly for a child. A bout with dysentery after being exposed to micro-organisms in their food or water can be very hard to recover from.

The good news is that something is being done to help some of these malnourished children. Lives are being saved. A difference is being made. Thank you, Lord.

As I watched these slides , my heart broke as I saw their little faces. I just had cleaned out our refrigerator and had thrown away food that had spoiled. Oh God, forgive my wastefulness and help me remember how many people in our world do not have enough to eat. Praise goes to all the people that supported and/or went this feeding effort. God bless each one of you. Elaine

Just curious where the children got their clothes? The girl in the Cinderella nightgown was so precious! Did Life Outreach hand out the clothing too? It's incredible all that organization does for those precious Africans.
Thanks for posting the slideshow. I'm forever touched!

Thank you, Amanda, for posting this slide show. I wept through the whole thing, especially at the sight of Fernando. I plan to show my children this slide show and will pray about ways to bring awareness to this great need at some of my events. Our youth need to see these images.

"From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked." (Luke 12:48b)

Lord, start with me...

"The poor and needy search for water,
but there is none;
their tongues are parched with thirst.
But I the LORD will answer them;
I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.
I will make rivers flow on barren heights,
and springs within the valleys.
I will turn the desert into pools of water,
and the parched ground into springs.”
Isaiah 41:17-18
Thanks Beth and Keith and everyone involved for being willing and sweet instruments of the Lord's provision. It is such a great privelege. To engage in that provision and to witness others. We are storming the gates of hell! Rick Warren has a new PEACE plan which talks about how it's time to "turn the audience into an army". I love it. Thanks for your example.

You were right that some of those pictures (sick children & graveyard) were hard to see, but I just have to say that those are some of the most beautiful people I have ever seen. Those kids are precious. There is one picture of a girl who is carrying a child in a colorful pack on her back and she is absolutely gorgeous!

How blessed even the poorest people in America are! We truly have no idea what it is to be hungry (really hungry) or thirsty.

Come quickly, Lord Jesus!

After seeing the pictures of Matthew and now this slide show I want to take these children home with me! As I made my 12 week old son a bottle I felt so incredibly grateful to God for all he blesses us with and I can't image the helplessness these mothers must feel when they can't feed their children. Thank you for reminding us how God works in our lives everyday.

Beth, Our chuch has sent missionaries to Africa each year. This past Sunday we had one of the ministry leaders from Africa come to America to speak to several of our churches. He talked about how our little amount of money is feeding children and sending them to school. They have already set the date for the next interest meeting for folks to go. My husband and I had said we would pray about it. After those pics, I'll definitely be at the meeting. Glad the trip went as well as it could. I continue to pray for you, your family, and the ministry staff.

Father in Jesus name first of all I want to repent for my constant complaining when my four children have food on the table and clothes on their backs even when they mouth off too me and want 60.00 games and I have to tell them no I am in school we don't have it right now. How arrogant we American's are when McDonalds and the other fast food restraunts out there and we complain for paying 3.59 for a big kids meal for the kids because they want the toy!

Thank You Jesus for your precious blood on these children I pray that another child will not go hungry Here or anywhere else in the World. I pray for the end to Abortion, slavery of children in the world and all the awful murders, incest , rape and other evils out in the world. Lord open up our eyes to feed the poor and hungry and not waste and not be grateful. I ask all of these things in Jesus name.

Thank You Keith and Beth for giving your time to the Lord and allowing us to see . I want to go on a Mission's trip I am praying for My season to come !

Love Ya'll
Sue-La

PS. Keep my four children in your prayers my youngest astma is acting up again with the weather and I pray that the Lord uses my kids in a mighty way and my oldest gets His dream about going on a Missions trip!

God's timing is once again perfect. It is late here and my stomach is growling and I have been trying to convince myself that I do not need any thing to eat. I am quite sure that I do not even know what true hunger is. We are so spoiled by having our every need met--these pictures have reminded me to be more grateful for abundant blessing. I love the picture of Beth holding the little one on her lap where you can see her dirty knees. Just what I have come to expect from her--serving on her knees. What a blessing to see! Thanks for posting.

I was just thanking God this morning for all of the blessings in my life....first of all for Jesus in my life...all my life. I've never not known of His love. I am blessed to have wonderful healthy parents (in their 70's, two healthy children, a godly son-in-law, a godly husband, a good job, a nice home....cool in the summer, warm in the winter, vehicles, wonderful friends, family, church family & always plenty of food and enjoyment in life.
It always breaks my heart for those who don't have as much. I don't take it for granted though. I am so thankful. It is only by the grace of God I'm where I am. I will continue to pray for this ministry and Life Today.
I know when I was little I would see pictures like these and think it was sad and all, but the older I get and realize how blessed I am and our country is as a whole, it makes me feel different.
Thanks for sharing the pictures. It's difficult to see, but necessary to know what's going on in other parts of the world.
Love all of you guys!

Dearest Beth...
I just watched Life Today and it was your teaching on being filled up with Christ...you walked around with the measuring cup and talked about how Christ is the one thing and one thing only that fill us up. It was just an AWESOME teaching!!! Having just finished "Breaking Free" in the Spring, when I hear the words out of Isaiah, I just want to jump up and scream "Hallelujah! We are free! Christ has set us free!"

Your teaching on this just fell fresh on me today and I just am so grateful for your dedication and committment to furthering the Kingdom. You also have inspired us to get beyond ourselves and help others....whether it's in Angola or in your own backyard....we are called to do both!!!

Bless you sweet Beth! I'll see you in Nashville.....I'm dying to go "Deeper Still." You are in my prayers.

Blessings to you and all you do!

Beth, I love you. You came to me via OnePlace.com last summer during my darkest days. I would rise go straight to my computer turn you on and listen to God's hope for me and my husbands brokenness for our wayward children. Your ministry has been integral to our life in supernatural ways. God, to no suprise, has been faithful to us and has held us close.

Tonight we placed an amount in our weekly budget for Life, then I checked out todays blog and bingo, Life pictures. God's affirmation!
I have such excitement in my heart for paydays to come.
