Please pray for my sister (Deanna, 26 years old) she is heading into the hospital with half of her face not moving. Not sure what is going on and it could be as simple as Bells Palsy or it could be a stroke. We just don't know. As soon as I have more information I will let you know.

Now that was comic relief! AND it was perfect so so perfect!!!!!!!!!!! He will remember decorating and it won't matter if it looked like it was from a professional or not. I still enjoy my 19 and 14 year old decorating cookies. WE did it last night -- the conversations were priceless and the cookies may be gotten a bit -- well -- only the family knows, but the memories are treasured.

UPDATE: I just got word back that my sister was confrimed to have Bells Palsy. She is off for the next couple of days from work. She caught it very early and is on an anti-viral so it looks like it all is well. They did do an MRI and she did not have a stroke.

You are making me hungry and you can come cook for me anytime becuase I even have a hard time with those type of cookies.
And right now I have sever shoulder problems and can't even manage that.
My PT said don't use that arm, if it hurts don't do it, ghee it hurts ALL the time so I guess I'm not even suppose to breathe! Ha!
And did you know that if you get steroid injections from your doctor it is called surgery by your insurance company! Just FYI.
Wonder if I could play that up with my boss.

I got such a kick out of this post!! I am with you on this one!! I talked to someone at church yesterday that spoke of a special Christmas cookie she bakes every year that takes about 4 hours for one batch!! I didn't feel one bit bad! I thought, "Give me prepackaged, pre-cut cookies any day!!" Who really wants to spend more than 20 minutes on a batch of cookies?? I was never cut from my grandmother's mold. I used to dream of being the all-around cook and baker, but now I just look for "Will they eat it and be happy??!!"

That was the sweetest thing I have ever seen! What precious memories.
My theory:
1. If it is made in my home, then it is homemade regardless of any original packaging.
2. If store-bought dough and frosting tastes as good (or better) than what I might whip up from flour, sugar, butter, etc., then why should I waste my time mixing all those ingredients.
3. My kids don't care about the original packaging as much as they love the time spent together!

I am just awe struck at how awesome you look Beth for just having surgery 2 weeks ago. I wished I would have looked that good after my starts with H....... and rhymes a tad with tonsillectomy.......=)

Doesn't Bibby know she just had surgery for heaven's sake? How in the world is she getting down on the floor with Jackson? It hurts just to think about it! Plus, she looks like a million bucks, no pale skin, roots are perfect, lipstick on, cute clothes, etc. etc. If it were me, I'd be milking this thing in a robe and slippers for months! Maybe not that long...

Oh, I laugh...with ribbon hanging off my head and glitter all over my face! This is the best thing I've come across all day as I rush around telling myself I can get my 10-page list completed before December 25th...maybe not perfectly like Martha or Pioneer Woman!! :) Thanks for the reminder to stop & enjoy the season and love on my 2 sweet little grandsons...and by the way you look wonderful w/ your adorable little Jackson. I know you and your family are relieved that the surgery is over and you're feeling better. Looking forward to another year studying with my favorite bible teacher ~ Beth. Dang, girl! Couldn't you look at least a little peak-ed?! I've had 3 of those "h" operations (yes, 2 partials and a "how did that golf ball grow on that little piece of tube I left?!" one) and NEVER looked that good two weeks out. You really are highly favored! SO thankful you are on this side of the surgery and that all is going well. He is GOOD and faithful! Merry Christmas!

Anyway I made ‘cakies‘. Cookies from box cake mix, they are yummy. This has probably been around forever, but I just learned about them from my daughter. There was a recipe on the side of the box. Who knew?

Love the second to last pic - my FAV! This year I even went easier than that! I bought cut out cookies from the bakery and then let my kids frost and decorate! I decided it was the only way to go from now on!!!

Wanted to let you know I was planning on commiting to 1st and
15th memory verses in 2010. I bought a special calendar with a space each month for both my verses that I can see before I even get out of bed in the morning.
I really feel the Lord calling me to deeper commitment, more intimacy and more revelation than ever before. I really have an expectancy for this coming year that I cannot explain. I also plan on working through some bible studies and books that I picked up this year and never quite got around to. You are inspiring-between you and the Holy Spirit I don't stand a chance......

i have been through 5 of Beth's' studies at my home church in Washington and have followed the blog since the beginning Beth you have introduced me to my God in a new and real way i am so glad your health issues turned out good i was praying for you sweet Beth.you and your teachings have changed my life but in the past 2 weeks
my family and i have been rocked to the core.my brother ted who lives in Malibu was walking his dog
just two doors down on his road and a car struck and killed him on the 8th of Dec.we had his service on the 17th there is 4 siblings Ted was the third Iam the oldest. i have moved away from my Church family in sept to be close to my mom never did i know that this would be a blessing that i was here for her. but i am really struggling with my faith i have not found a church family here where i live now.i feel so shattered.and it's too painful to wrap my heart and mind around the fact that Ted's is gone.he was the link in our family that was the peace keeper i am asking for prayer my birthday is on the 23 rd dec and Christmas on the 25.just really struggling with the why.please keep my family in prayer

My friend Dori sent me for Christmas the DVD for Travis' "Jesus Saves," so I spent the evening wrapping presents with you all!! :) "This is the Day" is my absolute favorite.

I love baking and cookies. I have also been known to use that particular brand of break and bake cookies, they're so good. But now I must bake my Russian Tea cakes, with REAL butter, of course, and then eat half of them myself before Christmas...:)I can't stand it, they're so delicious!

Oh what wonderful memories you are making with Jackson. My youngest granddaughter has been helping me make Christmas cookies since she was three. She is now ten. We aren't going to get to make very many this year because Christmas vacation started so late.
You look wonderful. I am so glad that you are doing so well. Have a wonderful Christmas and I hope to see you in California next year.

Please pray for my Aunt Doris and our family. Her blood pressure is very low and she is in the ICU. She has a lot of medical problems that combined are life threatening. My Mom is one of Aunt Doris' six sisters and is the first Sister that has been this close to death. Please pray for my Mom and Aunts as they endure what God has for them, as well as Aunt Doris. Especially pray for them in the even that God decideds to bring Aunt Doris home to Heaven for Christmas.
