Let's Pretend

Let's just pretend it's really fall in Texas and it's not crazy to be dressing my baby in this outfit. Let's pretend that Houston's not experiencing unseasonably warm weather with a heat index of 110. Let's pretend that four months from now I won't have a one-year-old!

Here's Annabeth at 8 months.

I am not a blood relative, so this is totally unbiased! Could we get any cuter? I can't believe it has been almost a year since Annabeth was born and Jackson turned 3. Does that mean I have to admit I'm a year older also?
I love it when you share your darling kiddo's. Just precious.

Fact: Annabeth is most darling in that Fall outfit.

Fact: That outfit and that cuteness will bring on some Fall weather. I know it.

Fact: Anybody who thinks Amanda is kidding about the 110 degree weather, know that she is indeed, not kidding.

Pretending is fun!!

And I've heard people say that babies should not wear black and I say "Have you ever seen a more adorable child in her outrageously cute black and plaid clothes?" (I put my girls in black all the time. Even on babies, it just looks elegant, doesn't it?)

Pretending to send some of our snow and cold your way!

Your little one is precious!!

I desperately need help from the siestas. Melissa wrote a blog about the time she got married about how her husband could not be her everything for her. How only God can truly complete each of us. It was very powerful and I need this for my niece who thinks that her happiness and joy will only come when she has "the guy". I tried to find it on the archives with no success. God recalled it to me so I can help her. Somebody please help me!

Aww... It looks like Annabeth loves that bear, now. How precious! Annabeth is darling. <3

I still have the teddy bear that my mom placed in the crib after i was born. He's safely packed away, these days (after surviving 3 nose & 2 tongue replacements, 3 restuffings, ear piercings during the teen years… he retired at 30yrs.) I can't wait to hear what Annabeth will name him/her. ;) Mine was named Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt Griffin, at the age of 5.

To help beat the heat, i always drink lots of iced tea... (Do you like sweeeeeet or sans sugar?) A squeeze of lime - instead of lemon - will make it seem like a whole new treat.

Thinking of you guys back home & wishing i was sweating it out there, with everyone else...

You bring such joy to these old eyes when you post pictures of your precious children! Of course, since I'm a "girlie-girl's" Mom, I am partial to little girls! :-)
If I lived close by, I would volunteer to babysit!!
Come to Memphis...it's cooler here (and wet).

We left Houston to go to cooler weather in SD and while it was not too humid, it was still hot for most of the 8 days we were there. Must have missed God on the planning of that trip - ha ha!

She is precious !!!! They do grow up quickly. I can't believe that my precious grand daughter that we have been raising since when she was 6wks is now an adventurous 2yr old that can actually talk to me and tell me what she needs. They are most assuredly blessings from our Lord. Thank you for continuing to share your life and family with those of us who love you deeply.

This is to much..I have to share. I lead a women's bible study group at my church in Arlington, Texas on Thursday nights. We are currently doing "The Inheritance" study and we watched the week 4 video last night. It was the taping of the class the day Annabeth was born. I knew when you had her because of our Siestaville blog but so many of my bible study buddies did not and you should have seen their faces when your mother showed the picture of Annabeth. It was a sweet moment....thanks again from so many for sharing.

She is just adorable, Amanda !

However, if you want some autumn weather, you can bring your darlin's and your family [including our dear Siesta Mama, Miss Beth] up here to Southern Wisconsin.

We saw plenty of snowflakes flying around at the campground where my Mom & I spend our late spring, summer, and early fall weekends today. We were only out there to "winterize" Mom's trailer, though, as there is a "hard freeze warning" [otherwise known as: below 32 degrees F !!!] out for tonight.

So, needless to say, I assisted kids in taking the goo out of pumpkins and carving them during this mornings frigid "Childrens' Activities" time.

However, as cold as it was this morning, it reminded me of the poem "Christians are like Pumpkins". It is a poem about how God chose each one of us, opened us up, cleaned out all of the "yucky stuff" [sins] and put a candle inside of us so that we can shine His light out into this dark and dreary world ... salvation in a poem about pumpkins; how awesome is that ???

In Christ's Love,

Jennifer
