He is Risen!

Happy Easter, everyone! What a joyous day!

It's AJ just stopping in to share some pictures with our Blog Peeps.

And by some pictures I mean many more pictures than you'd ever want to see.

On Saturday my cousin Joe, who's in school to be a fireman, was in town participating in a fundraiser with a local fire department.
Cousin + access to a fire truck + three-year-old boy = no brainer.
We rolled out of bed and headed that way. In fact, Annabeth was still in her pajamas.

I got some fun stuff for my kids from the Target dollar section. Jackson was thrilled that Annabeth "wanted to share" all her goodies.

Those Cadbury mini-eggs were calling my name late last night and - gasp! - I opened them. My excuse is that I've been sick and that's all that sounded good. They were delish.

After attending a wonderful worship service at our church, we went to Mom and Dad's house for lunch. We were joined by my grandparents, my cousin Joe, and our friends Roger, Lynn, and Michelle. Mom was the hostess with the mostest. We were only missing Melissa and Colin and boy did we miss them!

You never know what will entertain a child. Here Jackson was rolling pieces of Trix cereal down his race car ramp.

It rained and stormed all morning, but then the sun came out and we had a beautiful day. We were excited to have the chance to do the Easter egg hunt outside.

Here's the Easter Bibby hiding eggs.

All done!

Lynn was helping Jackson go through his Easter eggs when his sugar high kicked in. I now present a photographic series called "Progression of a Mess." Please hear my child laughing, squealing, and yelling "Surprise!"

To top off an already great day, Curt's mom just called and said our young nephew, Gavin, prayed to receive Christ last night. Praise the Lord!

I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend celebrating Christ our King. He is risen indeed!

We had the perfect Easter for all the right reasons: Jesus, family and friends. Three people committed their lives to Christ today at church. I don't know about you, but that sort of thing fires me up with an even greater passion to serve Him.

After lunch, my mom had a treasure hunt for the grandkids. They had to look up Bible verses like one that said "Bread of life" and they would go find the bread and there would be another verse. At the end she had a card with $5 for each of them. You should have seen the running and squealing of these kids ages 5,9,14,17 and 20 as they searched. And yes, the 20 year old was as excited as the 5 year old!! They had so much fun!!!!

(Also, did you know that even when the clouds rolled away finally, we were under a tornado watch? I never figured that out! Glad the sun decided to come out. We sat outside it was so gorgeous!)

Melissa, thank you so much for taking the time to add extra joy to my day. I came home exhausted from a busy day of Easter activities hoping there would be a picture or two of your sweet family. God has blessed you over and over again. My oldest son who is now 22 looked so much like Jackson at that age. They could have easily been brothers. He was home from college for Easter, and I couldn't resist an Easter basket for him ... college essentials nonetheless.

What wonderful memories for you all! By the way, I kept nibbling on those pastel colored lifesaver jelly beans. Didn't even know such a thing existed, but they are good and addictive.

God bless you!

Amanda,
Thanks for sharing your precious family with us. Your entries are always so special and creative. Jackson's delight makes me almost wish my boys (15 & 1 week shy of 17) were young again. The candy sure looked good. I am holding out for my stash until tomorrow when it will go 75% off and hoping that the calories will also be 75% off. One can wish.
It has been a cold rainy day out side here. But I must say the Son was shining here is Topeka today. We had 4 precious children come forward and accept Jesus as their savior and be baptized! Nothing more beautiful than that.
Thanks for sharing your family.
Love you guys,
Jan

Looks like so much fun!!! We had an super fun day too- topped only by the incredible news early this morning that my husband was getting on a plane to come home tomorrow! You can't believe how surprising that was. God engineered an end to his delay that only God could do- none of us in the million years would have predicted the way it all happened and we are thrilled to pieces!

One very funny note- I never bring my cell phone into church for obvious reasons, but today I did since I knew my husband might be calling with news or details of his trip(he'd emailed me during the night and so I was waiting to hear the full scoop of what was up exactly). I didn't have pockets in my skirt, so I had to leave the ringer on so I would hear it. The first time it rang was during the music- no big deal, but I did walk right in front of the pastor as I walked out the first time which must have prompted his comment during announcement time- "by the way, this is a good time to turn off your cell phones or set them to vibrate." I thought, well, what if my hubby needs to call me again, I better not turn it off, but I'm sure that won't happen- I'll take my chances. Well, during corporate prayer time RIGHT after he made that announcement wouldn't you know it went off again! God certainly has a sense of humor and I felt embarrassed to the max. Later I explained the importance of the calls etc., but still! Never bringing it in again.

Hope everyone else had a great day- thanks for all the photos, Amanda. I know the importance of picking out just the right Easter dress and Annabeth's was super cute! :)

Love, Rebekah

So, who needs cars and candy when you have Trix and Easter grass? Kids amaze me. Parents amaze me more when we think our children "need" all these "things" when all they really want is to have fun. And fun doesn't have to cost a thing!

Our son is now 19 years old and I am guilty of giving him too many "things." Thot I was balancing out time with things but not so sure now.

Oh, you all look radiant! Jesus has just gotta be hands down the best beauty treatment ever!
Amanda, I LOVE your skirt!

And your grass is so pretty and green! Ours here in Oklahoma is brown..sepia toned brown...(that is, the grass that hasn't burned up in the grass fires. Oh, please pray for those poor people that have lost their homes!)

Thank you for sharing your Easter with us. He is Risen indeed. Glory!

Praises abounding! We got up early to attend our SONrise service (b/c there was no "sun" in sight due to impending storms!) It was a wonderful feeling tho to be in HIS house when it got light. I said a prayer for you all when we drove by your church on our way to League City yesterday. The parking lot looked overflowing!! We had driven through the Easter shower twice by the time we reached HI 10 and got it the third time in LC just before we ate!! It was a great shower, but I was so glad the sun came out and the Houston skies turn a brillant blue. What an Easter!

The fire truck pictures are priceless! That truck was a little bigger than his hot wheels, huh??

It sounds like Easter Bibby did a great job! Love the family pictures! Thanks for sharing!

We were having some moments very similar to that here in Montana. And we had a very thoughtful discussion about green Easter basket grass. It doesn't vacuum up very well, and makes a HUGE mess. But it wouldn't quite be Easter without it!

Hope you have a great week. And again.....thanks for letting us share your Easter with you!

"Like a rose, trampled on the ground, He took the fall and thought of me above all...." Praise God for the life and love He brings as we embrace our Risen LORD and King! Thank you again and again for sharing such beautiful pic's of your picture- perfect family, and your glorious Easter day with all we siestas! Annabeth looked like the little princess she is, and your Easter outfit beautiful too, Amanda! Especially loved "Easter Bibby" and pic's of Jackson searching those delicious treats out.

Here in So. Cal we shared a wonderful morning worship, with decisions at the altar for God's glory, then a big family day with Mexican food for Easter day. Yep...can you imagine fajita's on Easter? It took a long time for me to wrap my mind around it, but that's what our grown "kids" wanted. We had 12 little kids searching out their own colored eggs (plastic kind-color coded for each child from 1 year old to 15!) Then everyone went swimming...that's what So. Cal is all about on a beautiful balmy Easter afternoon! That, and fajita's for Easter? (Next week, I'm having my Kairos Ladies Bible class in for a traditional "Old Ladies and their husbands" one week late Ham dinner, with all the trimmings). To me, it's not a complete Easter without the traditional food.

Sending much love and blessings from So. Cal. and thank you so much for your warm-hearted ministry to us Amanda...Also, loved the pic's of the day with your fireman cousin and real fire engine. How could any 3 year old want more than that?
Hugs,
Pam

So much fun! I enjoyed those pictures so much. I'm in an awkward (not so fun) season. The children are all grown, only one married, no grandkids, so we had a very quiet Easter just me and the hubby. We have to adjust to just the two of us sometimes. Anyway, I had a lot of reflection time, (I'm so not use to that) and I enjoyed the company of the Lord. Even feeling melancholy He is the glory and the lifter of my head. Your pictures assured me there are livelier days ahead. Thanks for the hope.

Much love,

I'm so glad that the sin of coveting is much more than just thinking...wow..I wish I had that great hair and good skin and etc.!

Seriously, you guys..all of you from tiny, precious little Annabeth, to your Daddy, Keith are one beautiful family inside and definitely outward!

Amanda, please tell Mama Beth that if I didn't just love her to pieces and feel her love for us and for Our Father - I couldn't bear to have her teach me. She is too beautiful to not bring out the "jealous woman" thing if she didn't have the Spirit shining through her. That is nothing but GOD!!

Little Mister is too precious for words. He makes your heart just squeeze for little boys that have so much enthusiam and delight at all they discover in the world.

I am so thankful HE is risen! I really fear that in the midst of so much of our daily lives we lose sight of that. I know I do at times.

We don't have to cry and despair asking,"Where have you taken him?"
We now know and until we fall in HIS arms at the end of our journey, we are HIS hands, feet and voice of love to a very sad and defeated world.

Love you guys,
Teri

Praise God, He is risen. It means more and more each year.

I just love Easter time. My one year old and eight year old dressed alike and it overjoyed me. They are boys, so no frills or cute hats, but they just made my heart sing to see them. Then, my oldest knew the answer to the question during the "story time" at church. "Resurrection" he said. He even wanted to have a discussion with the youth minister about it, but I had to hold him back. Oh, the mouth of babes. The babies proudest moment was that he discovered jelly beans!! Annabeth and Jackson are precious.

What a feast for the eyes, these beautiful pictures! My kids are grown but not yet married and building families...yesterday they were all home for Easter dinner and I'd made up little packets of Easter candy wrapped prettily in colorful cellphane for each of them (and for son's girlfriend and both daughters' boyfriends). They all enjoyed their little surprise (more than I thought they would!) and I told 'em all...when I have grandkids, IT IS ON (meaning full blown Easter egg and basket FUN). All sugar-and fake grass fun aside, our Lord is VICTORIOUS! It was a blessed and beautiful Easter day yesterday here in California.

Oh how fun! Praise for your nephew. I was Baptized on Easter many many years ago.

Our Easter wasd 45, rainy and nasty! Rainign now as I type. My yard is a foot high but we've had only one or two days of dry and that's when I was working so...

Love the Easter Egg Hunt! We had an all day "Eggstravaganza" at our church on Saturday with Ken Medema and it was perfect! I got to "hide" eggs and watch hundreds of kids run to get them.

We had face painting, puppet shows, train rides, archery shoot, rock climbing wall, Humane Society with dogs that got adopted, mobile fish hatchery unit, ambulance, child fingerprinting, food and of course Easter Bunny.

It was great day and the weatehr was perfect.

Love your bunny ears! Thanks for sharing

Oh dear me, I cannot tell you how much I love seeing pictures of your family. Thrilled to see some with Beth and Keith! I don't have a huge family and so when I get to experience events with your family via pitures, it makes me feel like you are my extended family and that makes me smile.
The whole Holy week was incredible. Maundy Thursday we took communion, Good Friday was poignant and intense and on Saturday day, I participated in a Sader - passover meal. I felt so richly blessed by each encounter with God.
Our Easter Sunday was a freedom- filled-get-down-good-time. We had a special musical guest at our church; Rob Mathes. He played a song by Bono, "Yahweh" and he played a song by B.B. King and Bono, "When love came to town," not to mention "when the stone was rolled away."
I had been asking our worship team for about a month if they would play "Blessed Assurance," they never did. You can imagine how thrilled I was when God surprised me with this guy singing it on Easter. Hallelujah!!!!!
The music was so spirit filled, I have never known freedom like that, and the music was rockin, we had this one darlin' African american woman dressed in her Sunday best (yes hat and all - I mention that b/c we don't usually wear hats to church where I live ) well she danced her way down the aisle of church, by herself, it was like out of a movie.
What a blessed holiday. This is the year anniversary of me becoming born-again, again! And let me tell you, last year the focus was on Good Friday, and what the crucifiction meant and God and I just camped there. Well this year, God really moved me to the Resurrection. Glory!

Love the pics, love everything! You darlin' family.

Sorry, this is my second comment but I just had to mention this after reading all the comments.

To Melissa and all the moms and those of us who couldn't be with loved ones to celebrate Easter. Hope you all are into Skyping!

We got into it when our daughter was in Africa on a mission trip. Both of our kids and spouses (and seventeen month old grandson!) live on the east coast and we are in Michigan. It truly is like a "visit" rather than just a phone call.

It's easy to set up on a Skype account on your computer and FREE!!!

Just had to share with all the "lonely" siestas. Love you all!

But what made my heart happy was that even with her perfect-looking skin and perfect teeth and perfect hair color (I know she was worried about it at the ministers' wives thing), Bethie has an empty roll of paper towels. Why that did my heart good I'm not so sure, but it did. And so I thank you both.

Lord bless to All and I am thankful our Savior is alive and active today. May we see, hear and experience more of His presence each and everyday. May His word continue to go forth and Praise the Lord it will not come back void.

He has risen indeed! This should be my every morning quote. A reminder that everything is in His hands.
Love the pictures! My Sarah Jane (recently turned 6) would love to be the little "mama" of Annabeth. Her maternal instincts are strong. So much so, I sometimes wonder "Who's the mama?". Richard (3) would like the firetrucks and Trix rolling down the racetrack.

My favorite is the one of Jackson hunting eggs (from behind). Such a cute little man!

I can't help but wonder if that's his teddy bear on the fire truck dashboard.

Is the man with Beth "HER MAN". After all these years of participating in BM Bible studies, i have never seen a picture of Keith Moore!

You have a lovely family and it sounds like a perfect Easter. Ok, I have a "health" question for Beth. What is a typical eating and exercising day for Beth Moore; your mom is in great shape, what's her secret?
Happy Day,
Amanda

Love the pictures of the easter basket demolition. The tossing about of the Easter grass was especially fun. I can't stand that stuff, though! :) Looks great in the basket but I cannot seem to get it all picked up from around my house. It just keeps hanging on and on and on . . .

Dear Amamnda,

Sometimes I see your pictures and am sure that you and Curtis are CLOSE relatives, you really are cut from the same cloth, maybe just reversible cloth.

I am so excited to see you all in heaven and talk to you about the way things really are forever and ever! Becaiuse He is Tisen, we have so much to look forward to! I will also read every book by my favorite authors in between gasping at the greatness of our GOD!
Love you all soooo much!

Beth,

I am liking your hair these days. Me, I Honestly looked at the actor who played well, yup, that vampire guy, and wondered what kind of mousse he uses.

On a different note, on Good Friday I called the local DVD store and asked about renting "The Passion of Christ" and the response was, "Has there been some report about this? Lots of people have been calling and both DVDs are out!"

We are definitely, "the remnant."

Peace and grace, Charlotte
