One Week Later

Hey, my dearest Siestas! I’ve thought about you many times and in the midst of no small amount of activity. I so hope this post finds you well, full of fresh hope, enjoying the presence of God and receiving a Word from what Melissa affectionately calls “The Scripts.”

Today our little princess Annabeth is one week old. I can’t help but smile as I write to you about her. She is the most precious little thing. Both of my children and Jackson weighed the least bit over 7 pounds so our little 6 pounder is the smallest baby I’ve ever personally cared for. Keith says she's not even the size of a good trout. Make no mistake. She’s got some spunk…and she’ll need it with that precocious big brother of hers. Considering what a spotlight he’s held in three families (firstborn to Curtis and Amanda, first grandchild to both sets of grandparents), I think he’s done a terrific job of adjusting. I spent the night with them Saturday night when I returned from El Paso and when I went into his room the next morning after I heard him stirring, he said, “Hi, Bibby! Where’s the girl?” I loved it. Needless to say, I lifted him up to look into the crib and he was very pleased that she was still there. Since she was awake, I asked, “Do you want me to get her out?” Of course, he did. I sat with that tiny little thing on my lap while he fetched a huge pink stuffed bear from a chair and danced it around in front of her. I assured him she was very entertained despite the fact that she had the posture of Raggedy Ann and wanted to nap in the worst way. She’s going to love him so much. Lord have mercy, what trouble they’re liable to get into together. I hope some of it’s at Bibby’s.

Curtis and Amanda are sleepy but doing so well. They have an exceptionally good routine for life with such a newborn. She usually has a wide-awake time late at night so Amanda feeds her then goes to bed while Annabeth stays up with Daddy. Mommy then gets up for all the night feedings since she herself is the bottle and that’s when Daddy gets to sleep in. So far, Baby Girl eats during the night and goes right back to sleep. If a week is any indication, she seems to be content to be awake without being fussy. Boy, would THAT be a wonderful enduring trait! She, however, does not like to be changed nor given a sponge bath but, at that weight, who on earth would? She’s going to need some body fat to warm up! We could not feel more blessed. She is honestly a living doll with the cutest wardrobe just screaming to jump off the hangers and onto her little self. Everything just swallows her right now so most of it has to wait. The footies on her footie pajamas just hang limp.

God was so thoroughly gracious to time that sweet child’s birth before our El Paso LPL event so that I could be completely free from concern that she’d be born while I was gone. The event was already etched in stone when Amanda realized she was expecting. Both times I’ve chosen (contrary to my anxious personality) to trust God with the timing and not stress that I’d miss those grandbabies’ births. God has been so faithful that I could bawl about it. He even allowed me to miss a vicious stomach flu that both Melissa and Keith got. (She got it first and took it so badly that she’s still not completely over it.) I felt so sorry for them I didn’t know what to do. It caused Melissa to miss getting to hold her niece for three days of the six she was home. (You don’t want to try to come between Melissa and her niece. There could be blood.) If I had gotten that bug, I’d either have missed the event (which God has never let happen in all these years), missed getting to help Amanda with the grandbabies, or exposed the entire Jones family. He didn’t let any of those things happen. I am so full of praise to Him.

Melissa and I went by on Sunday afternoon to pick Amanda up between feedings and take her to run a few errands while Curtis babysat. She needed some fresh air…and some Starbucks, for crying out loud. Melissa talked us into trying the new London Fog Latte. So tasty! We got grandes even though a tall would have sufficed because…well, because we are Moores and if a tall is good, a grande is better. I don’t get Venti because, not only do I not want to pay for it, I don’t have a lot of confidence about how to say it. It sounds dumb. Amanda, Melissa, and I are one another’s favorite people on earth (besides our men) and we laughed our heads off together on that Target run. Amanda kept saying, “Stop it, y’all! Stop it!” because, needless to say, it hurt when she laughed. Which made us act even sillier. It was the best medicine on earth for all three of us.

By the way, I could NOT have loved our El Paso group more. If you watched the video and wondered about the trash can thing, it went with our subject matter. Rich did such a great job on portraying that. I would have brought every single one of those women home with me if I could have. Did you know Lucchese boots are made right there in El Paso? And would you also believe that I received a brand new pair of them as a souvenir from the event? The director of marketing’s beautiful wife awarded me a set of snake skins (that’s one way the snake stays under these feet) and, let me tell you, they were not pearls before swine. I put those babies on the second I got onto stage and I was one happy girl in the Lone Star State. They will be put to much good use. They were the exact ones I would have chosen off a shelf: a rich brown which is my signature color (hello, Shelby) as much as I wish it were blush and bashful.

Well, I have Bible study tonight so I best not tarry here on the blog. We think of you every day and we are so honored to be your sisters and your servants. I wish you knew every single one of our staff members because you’d love them all so much. They serve you in one way or another every single day behind the scenes. I’ll leave you with a picture of only about half of them taken in Amanda’s hospital room last week. They brought her a quilt with all their pictures attached to various squares. It was hilarious. All of us are shameless about babies.

Know that you are greatly loved and prioritized here at Living Proof Ministries. We exist to encourage people exactly like you to come to know and love the Lord Jesus Christ through the study of His Word.

Talk to you soon!

Beth (AKA your very own Siesta Mama)

The quilt from "Annabeth's Village Aunts."
They really wanted to hang it on the hospital room wall.

Beth!

I love you just a little bit more with every post!

What a praise that the stomach bug didn't hit everyone, although I'm sorry that it claimed Keith and Melissa. I'll be praying they are tip top very soon!

Precious, precious pics of Miss Annabeth! My own baby Faith was 5 lbs 4 oz when she was born, so I can totally relate to the "dying-to-get-you-in-those-precious-clothes-but-they-swim-on-you" thing!

Much love to you, your families and the Village Aunts! We appreciate them so much, too!

Love,
Kristen

Annabeth is SO alert! And so beautiful. I have grandchildren in the same age bracket as yours except my three year old is a girl and the two month old is a boy. Grandchildren are truly GRAND! It's worth getting old(er) for this! :)

Thanks so much for giving us such a "newsy" post today!

God bless you...

Oh my -- could she be any more gorgeous!! What a doll baby!! Amanda, just soak her up and take care of yourself. She's a beauty.
Beth -- praise God for His perfect timing. I just loves how He cares for each of us and takes care of the big stuff (like babies being born) and little stuff (like helping me find my cell phone for the forty eleventh time).
Melissa -- girl, I'm feeling you're pain. I was super SICK just a while back and truly thought I would have to die to feel better.

I can't take it, she is too cute. A wonderful Siesta puts some points from the El Paso event, which seemed like it was so meant for me. I wished I could have heard the whole thing. So many of the points she put on the blog were things I was thinking of this morning as things I heavily struggle with.

Self Condemnation, forgetting victory, showing courage.

Oh I wish I had been there.

Bless you all,
Siesta OC

Congratulations! You are such an encouragement. My mom passed away when I was 20. Although I miss her dearly and long for my three children to know her, our God is so good and through you, He has given me a glimpse of the joy my mom would have had with the birth of her grandkids. Blessings to you and yours!

Happy Tuesday afternoon!

What a joy it is to read some good news! Seems like there's so much sadness and pain all around that I've been down under it lately. (And PMS doesn't help!)

I love that Jackson calls her "the girl." And so thankful you didn't get the bug. Eww!

1) I had that awful stomach virus, too, and it took me exactly a week to get back to normal. Bless their hearts! Seriously!

2) I love all of you LPM ladies. Such a glow about all of you! I am thankful for each of you. Especially on Tuesday's. I can only imagine what y'all have to deal with. Y'all rock!

3) That quilt is hilarious and precious all at the same time.

4) I do believe Target is one of the happiest places on earth. It's up there on the list close to Disneyland.

5) Can't wait for Bible Study tonight. I'm excited to get me some Inheritance. Praying for you, Beth and LPM team!

God is so good! Like you, I am full of praise to Him right now! I'm 24 1/2 weeks along and had my glucose test at the doctor's office yesterday. I failed it. Today I went confidently into the hospital for the 3 hour test and passed! God was no doubt covering me with His mercy and love. No doubt at all. For you see, normally I'm hypoglycemic and I was worried that I would pass out. Though my blood sugar level bottomed out on my last blood test, I didn't feel bad nor pass out. I only felt a little hot (a common hypoglycemic symptom) while I was eating and feeding the precious son God has blessed me with in my womb. God's provision for me today was priceless. And I'm eternally grateful and full of praise for my Savior!

Hi Ms. Beth,
Your little Annabeth is so precious! I love to hear of God's grace on the timing of your grandchildren being born.
What a wonderful time you had with your daughters. :o)
I am currently working through the Esther Bible study, and it is just amazing. Each of your studies that I have done have touched my heart, in their own unique ways, but this one ... This one is very personal to me! Thank you so much! Maybe one day, I will be able to tell you all the Lord has done in my life through your teaching of His word. :o)
Sincerely ~ Tricia Anne
Ps. We are hoping to have a few ladies from our church attend your New Orleans conference. :o)

My church was supposed to do the Esther study starting in January, but opted for a different one and I just could not wait to dive in. So I am doing it solo and watching you in slippers and comfies clothes. It is tough being a woman!
I have missed y'alls updates, but knew you were more than musy with that precious princess!

Beth,
My kids and grankids were all under 6 pounds. Dont' let it fool you though!
I will say, having them small allows your muscles to grow with them LOL
Ya all look so beautiful. Glad you are enjoying Annabeth and I am really glad that Jackson adores his baby sister so much.
Glad to hear that Amanda and Curtis have a "routine" worked out. I pray that it stays that way. Careful with that Starbucks! Caffeine goes through the breast milk to baby. I found that out the hard way. My oldest had the jitters so bad. I felt terrible when I found out it was my fault!
I love little Annabeth's big eyes. Bet she's alert and watching you all. Probably doesn't cry much cause she is so continuously entertained by you all! LOL! Love you guys,

Every baby, including my son, that I had ever known was in the 7.5-8.5 lb. range. When my daughter's little 6 lb. self showed up, everyone in my family said she was the tiniest baby they ever saw. Let me tell you about spunky! She's 8 now and just last week she knocked her 13 year old brother's tooth loose because he grabbed her and wouldn't let go. So there. Look out Jackson!

Glad to hear you got your girls out for shopping, Starbucks and some fresh air. Isn't it the very best to be the greatest of friends with your children? Sounds like you three had a blast!

Glad everyone's feeling better. Our health is the best gift right after family! Thank you Jesus for your love, care and protection of Beth and her loved ones.

So grateful everyone is doing so well and big brother is going a great job of being a Big Brother! Oh how precious this time is. And isn't God so good for all He did to enable all the circumstances to work out. Much Praise to Him!!! And I wanted to share that I have started the Esther study. God's timing of this in my life is amazing. I can't wait to get up in the morning to do the work book and this morning I started into the next day's study because I couldn't help myself!!! And a statement in the intro section has been running through my head, "Seek Him and His WILL will find you." Very profound. Thanks to you Beth and to Amanda and Melissa and all the staff who work so hard to bring God's word to us. You have no idea how many, many times God has used you to speak into my life and circumstances. Have a blessed week and fun with Grandkids(I know you will)!!!! In Jesus' Love Kathy

Beth,

Thanks for sharing your beautiful grand-daughter with us! She is beautiful!

I loved the video from El Paso, and even though I wasnt there, (I'm in Cincinnati, Ohio) I imagined the trash can symbolizing dumping the garbage from our life and giving to God to take care of! I loved the music and seeing the ladies worshipping!

I went to my first woman's retreat at our church this past fall and we watched one of your video's for the retreat content and I said then, I want to see you live! And I am still saying I want to see you live! I keep looking at your scheduled conferences and the closest you will be to Ohio is Mempshis in Oct 09, so I will keep waiting and watching and hopefully will be able to see you, to hear you live and in person!

Your video, your books, and this blog, esp the scripture memory, has helped me so much! I had one particulary bad day recently and I just opened up day 2 of scripture memory verses and started reading---Isaiah jumped out at me and I have since spent some time in that book, and God told me to stop being scared because he was holding my hand! HE is holding MY hand!

Thank you so much for your words that surely come from God---as a very good friend of mine who is spending a lot of time helping me to understand, ever so patiently, that it is God helping me, not so much her but she is his mouthpiece here on earth and you also are used as his mouthpiece to help all who need it!

Thank you!
Lisa

There's just nothing like the sweet smell if a newborn baby - especially when it's your own flesh-and-blood grandbaby! Can't wait for my #8 to arrive in late April. He was able to meet and hold 5 of them. Praise God for His [Believing God] extended mercy!!!

Girl babies will be 'Mighty Warriors' too! Let's pray for all of our 'next generations kids' like that. I have to carry on the prayer that he began.

I imagine you Moore girls do have fun together. As the mother of boys, I don't get that "shopping, hanging out time." My sweet boys do call and keep in touch, and we go to lunch together, but that extended hanging-out time is reserved for their daddy and hunting and camping!

Beth, I had often wondered if Amanda went into labor while you were at an LPL event.....what a traumatic thing that would be with your heart torn wanting to be in two places at one time. God is so good to work that out for you both times!

love you much!

I am sitting here at the computer with a Starbucks in hand. I stopped off with a friend since my hubby is out of town!

I agree with the venti comment...

I usually say small and they say "tall" and I say small and they say "tall is small" and I say Okay!!
**Blonder than I pay to be!!! LOL

My daily prayers seem to be working ~ I am honored to pray and uplift you, your precious family, the LPM ministry and the Siesta's each day!!!

BETH, PLEASE do me a BIG FAVOR!!!!
Could you give Nancy a big HUG from me and tell her I enjoyed our visit over the phone this morning??? She called because
Susan was out of the office.. It was such a treat talking with her!
YOU ARE 100 % correct that the LPM STAFF cares & does serve behind the scenes daily!

Beth,
I have checked every single day since Annabeth has arrived to see if we have an update. I have missed all of you so much. I feel like a "shirttale relative". BlackTea Latte w/ Soy is my new favorite at Starbucks. I'm thinking I might be on the verge of a stronghold, Lord have mercy. Abundant blessing to all of you.

I just finished the Living Beyond Yourself section on Patience. It made me laugh to read your post, about the timing of Annabeth and how fast those snakeskin boots would've been making tracks from El Paso, if she'd decided to come late!

Love the pictures!

Jesus, thank you so much for this ministry...they will never know will they Lord till they get home to you.... :)

PS...Your tutorial on how to memorize scriptures..has blown me away. I am sharing it with my small group as well.. I took notes and wrote the instructions on the last 5 cards in my 3x5 index...I do exactly what you say...THIS has never happened before... I am memorizing it so fast...and its sticking in my HEAD...I'm 51!!!! Its working...AND not to mention because it use to take me at least 3 weeks before. I honestly could memorize more, but I am not.. I continue to repeat the others when I get the one I am learning down pat!!! One more important thing...I feel a hedge of protection around me that I did not have before...with memorizing and doing the Esther study..I am full in Him!!!!

Congratulations! What a precious grand baby!

Beth,
Words can't express how much God has used your bible studies to meet me face to face in my life and how grateful I am that you have been obedient in writing them. Our small group of ladies at church just started "A Women's Heart: God's Dwelling Place" on this very night and the anticipation of how God is going to meet me again within this study is overwhelming. Thank You!!! I don't know if we'll ever get a chance to meet on this earthly soil, but I at least look forward to giving you a big hug when we see each other in heaven. Is it weird to say you are like a sister to me and I've never even met you face to face? I pray God blesses your family and your new grandchild and most of all I pray God continues to take you on the ride of your life in His Word!
Much Love and Blessings,

Beth, it just occured to me, how you ever thought of writing a book on how to develop a close relationship with your daughter? Or a bible study on it? It is good to hear from you again, Beth. Thank you for sharing with us. How precious that Jackson asks for "the girl"! My two kids are three years apart. Recently, I heard my son, age 8, defend his sister, age 11, to his best friend. My heart about burst! I have to remember this when they are bickering.

When I order a venti drink at Starbucks, I pronounce it vent-ay. My mom, sister and I also love to go to Starbucks and shopping. We have some great memories doing this.

You and your team are often in my prayers. You-all have blessed my life immensely and I thank you. It encourages me that you are such a family together. Thank you for being real.

I am thanking God for the safe arrival of Annabeth. Soak her up for all of us.

Love to you--

Beth,

Last August I "discovered" your ministry - checked if you were Biblically sound. Add to this an unanswerd prayer to find a Bible based church, whilst at the same time being blessed beyond description by your ministry. Fast forward to 3 weeks ago, we attended a church that was starting The Patriarchs study in 3 weeks.

We are still "checking" the church out. But, Monday I attended the intro to The Patriarchs (never been to any of your studies before....totally out of my "UR")and was struck by you saying "It is no accident you are here". So true.

God had orchestrated LPM into my life, 6 months later a church is placed in our path, and a Bible study that I would never have attended if I had not known who you were. That night in bed - I cried. Thankyou to you and your team.

Isn't she a beauty!! Blessings to all of y'all! It's great that Jackson likes her too. I'll never forget about a week after I brought my second baby home, my oldest (who was 20 months old at the time) looked at him one day and said "You can take that baby back now!" And he was a tiny baby too - I had to hunt for the preemie diapers because the newborn size just swallowed him! I'm sure she'll grow into those clothes in no time. Much love to you and your families!

Could I have a call out for some "Moore" wisdom?

With all this talk of moms and daughters I thought I'd see if you three Moore girls would give us siestas a few tips. Beth, when you made the comment that you were each others favorite people, I thought...could you put your finger on a few things that got you to that point? Like michellemabell said, "little glimpses into your life with your girls gives me hope as to what kind of relationship I hope to have with my girls..."

Beth, we all know how much you love God's word...how did you walk that line of being "too much" with discipling your girls through those teen years? Were there any rolling eyes at your house?

Amanda and Melissa...what were some of the things your mom did or didn't do that lead you to be so in love with Jesus?

This mom of 13 and 16 year old daughters would so love some insight and advice~

Grateful for you three~...four!!:)
