Just Catching Up
Hey Siestas! I haven't had a chance to just shoot the breeze with you lately. It's Friday night and Keith won't be home for a while. I've got the Olympics on and my feet propped up and I thought I'd touch base with some of my favorite girls on earth. Here are a few random things going on in the life of your very own Siesta Mama.
1. Keith and I are totally in love with our puppies! If what we were looking for was some high life in the Moore home, we certainly got it. Most of the time our house looks like we run a daycare center. Between Jackson and 2 puppies, we have toys from pillar to post. Star and Geli are crazy about each other and most of the time insist on playing with exactly the same toy, one biting one end and the other biting the other end. They even like to share the same chew. I've never seen anything like it. Geli stays with Keith during the week days and Star goes with me to work so we have a very enthusiastic reunion every workday evening. We still miss our old girls so much. I bawled about Beanie again just a few days ago. But we are so thankful to have these new babies to spoil. Geli is honestly one of the cutest puppies you've ever seen in your life. I'm talking ADORABLE. Star, on the other hand, is the smartest. (And, yes, she's mighty cute, too, but Geli honestly is gorgeous. German Shorthairs are beautiful specimens.) You can't believe what my little smarty pants has accomplished in three and a half months however. She can sit, fetch, jump, walk on a leash, bring me the leash, and come give me kisses when I ask her to. She constantly tries to anticipate what I'm about to do. Every morning when I grab the keys, she heads to the car and hops right up in her seat. Loves to even sit in Jackson's carseat in my SUV so that she has a good view. Danged amazing. I'm nuts about her. She is the mascot of Living Proof Ministries. My whole staff loves her. She knows exactly who offices where. When she's full grown, I'm going to get her one of those capes like the mascot at Texas A & M wears only ours is going to have "LPM" on it. Yep. She'll be darling. As it is, she wears a different color bandanna every day. I have lots of nicknames for her: Starry Starry Night, Rock Star, Starlet, Stardom, and on patriotic holidays, Stars and Stripes. If she's running really fast, she's Shooting Star.
2. I am getting to catch my breath for five minutes after a hard summer. I appreciated one of you commenting that I seemed rested or peaceful (you used the word "soft" - I'm going to take that as a compliment as long as you don't mean my arms) in the most recent Siesta video. You were so sweet to notice. It has been a difficult couple of months for a number of reasons and what you discerned was that I've recently come out from under a considerable measure of the stress. We are putting the final editorial touches on Esther and, before we know it, it will go to print after eighteen months of work. I will miss it so much but I will also be very relieved to see this baby girl birthed. I am never happier (ministry-wise) than when I'm working on a Bible study because I so love the process - hard as it is - BUT wrapping one up and getting it to print on time and in tact is always extremely stressful. Add to that about a dozen other things - some of them personal and painful - and you've got yourself a challenging summer. Thank you all for your prayers. You will never waste one on me. Please say another for me and for all of us who will seek the Presence of the Lord next weekend in San Antonio. I want to see Him there so badly.
3. Curtis, Melissa, and I are doing the neatest thing this Fall. The sanctuary at our church has been under reconstruction all summer. Since we weren't positive they'd finish on time for our Fall study, we decided we better do something smaller for one semester so we weren't dependent upon the sanctuary. For the last year or so the fire's been burning in us to construct and teach a Bible intro class to a smaller group we could really invest in. I want to know my class members names, for crying out loud! I've been dying to teach my own rendition of the series I took years ago in my twenties that lit such a passion in me. And I don't even have to tell you that this subject matter is right up Melissa's alley. When we considered that we might not have access to the sanctuary in time to begin, we knew the time was NOW. We're calling it "Lit" based on the verse out of Jeremiah where the Lord says, "Is not My word like fire?" We'll teach things like where the Bible comes from (transmission) and what on earth you do with it (Bible study methods). We'll go back to some basics and actually learn the Books of the Bible (yes, to a song, and, no, not by ourselves in front of the class!) and find out all sorts of cool things about how the Word of God got into the hands of regular people. Melissa and I are team teaching a "graded" class of 18-25 year-old young women (she'll be able to make 5 of the 10 classes) and Curtis is teaching the same material (one week later) to an ungraded class of both men and women. I'll be looking in on his class and getting to know them a bit and he'll be looking in on mine and doing the same. The whole semester will be a team effort. We kept the classes small so we can really invest in these lives. It's a free course but we took sign-ups this time since we had limited space. Both classes are full (which surprised me, by the way. I wasn't sure how many people would be interested in a Bible intro course) but I thought you'd get a kick out of knowing what we're doing and might stop and pray for us. We'll wait and see if God has any further plans for this concept. I don't know if we'll end up working it into a series to be published or not. We're just going to give our all to these two groups and let God take it from there. Oh, Sister. God completely changed my life with the study of His Word. I want every person on earth - particularly every woman I encounter - to know the transforming power of Christ and the Truth that sets the most hopeless captive free. It was the turning point for me. Even this morning in research for this course, I wept over the beauty of Christ displayed on the pages of Scripture. I am convinced He will give ANY willing soul an insatiable love for Him and His Word...a spirit of wisdom and revelation to know Him better.
Well, Starzy (my favorite nick name for her) is about to wet her pants (no, she doesn't really wear any. She's smart but not that smart) so I better sign off and go out in the backyard with her. It's been storming so she might need some moral support. You know how women are about going to the ladies' room in groups.
Oh, and our Little Fig is a darling little Lemon now! Amanda's feeling better every day. Thanks for praying! We are already falling in love with that precious one and can't wait to hold a newborn in our arms again.
I love you guys so much. Have a great weekend! And believe God for something BIG. He's so capable.

Praying for you and SO excited about the happenings in your lives! Love you so dearly and thank the Lord everytime I remember each of you!
Much Moore...
Beth, Your puppies are so cute. I wish my dog knew all the tricks your little puppy knows.
I love reading your blog and my women's group in church is starting the Daniel study.
Can't wait to see what God does!!

I too thought you looked nice in the video. new haircut too? very peaceful in your facial expressions (you always are, just something extra like His face was shining on you and giving you peace!)
Bless you all, people and puppies, at home and at work. I just joined your prayer team and pray for you every Monday specifically.
Wow, thanks for that newsy blog! I would LOVE to take one of those Bible classes.
I know it's been a hard summer for you. That you took on the summer Bible study at the same time as the Siesta Fiesta planning, all while you were finishing up Esther...well, I think you should be wearing a cape!!!!
I already put this on the Siesta Fiesta blog but you might get a kick out of this. We went out for Chinese tonight. My fortune cookie said,
"Travelling to the south will bring you unexpected happiness".
Loving you and praying that your time this coming week will bring you unexpected happiness too, dear Beth.

Thanks, Beth...so wonderful to hear from you as always. Thanks for your words on The Word. I have been faithful in doing just what you have always advised. Asking the Father to give me an obsessive love for Him and an undying hunger for His Word. He is doing just that and I should add, I often have to ask Him to make my intentions for Him and not for my selfish gain...I hate that...but I am so dang selfish! Love and praise the Father for your ministry. Love, Lindsey in Louisiana
I was just wondering about you, thinking you are taking a breather before next week and from the hectic summer.
You do look rested and do I see a new haircut?
Those pups are darling! What energy they bring.
Looking with great excitemnet to next week! See you in a few!
I am so tickled with how much joy you are getting from your puppies :) You are one of my favorite people in the world, and I love that God is taking care of you and your family in ways that only He can.
I will pray for you often, and I too am praying that God will continue to turn this tiny little spark in me into a raging fire that burns within for the love of His Word.
Love from this Siesta... Kim

PRAISE YOU JESUS! Thank you, Beth for this beautiful quote. May I borrow it as part of my life mission statement? God has placed a fire in my soul, and a passion in my heart for women. As I become "healthy" through the reading of His WORD I am becoming aware of what He wants to do... when women are emotionally healthy, their men and their children are healthy, homes and families are transformed, and the enemy gets mad (I just keep reminding the evil one that he is MY LORD'S FOOTSTOOL!)
As Beth would say, "Let's do this, girls!" GOD's WORD IS LIFE!
Hey there Bethie....
So glad that you are settling in with the puppies! They sound like so much fun.
I am excitedly awaiting the release of Esther...following the process on this blog (the ending of your process actually) is kind of special and I know that the study will mean even much more to me!
I will be praying for you and everyone involved with SA (next weekend right?). I so wish that I could be there but not possible as I am in CA and school has just started back so not a good time to leave my little munchkins (who have autism and have been off for 5 whole weeks! AUGGGHHHHH). They will most definatley be difficult for the first few weeks!
I ask for your prayers please...I feel like I've had a bit of a dark cloud come over me....lots of tragedy this year and the weariness seems to be heavier. I am spending time with the Lord each morning but I struggle to keep the sadness at bay. HE is good though....and even in this most difficult year of my life, I know that I know that I know that Jesus loves me....
Sorry so long!
Love you Siesta Mama!
Hey Beth,
I'm racking my brain trying to figure out if I've ever heard you talking about empty nest syndrome. Ha, I really didn't think it'd bother me too much and yet the night before my daughter leaves for college I've got this realization that this is tough. Any advice?
Beth,
I love it when you check in just to chat with us. I am sure the Bible intro class will be awesome, makes me wish I lived in Houston...except for the traffic! Both Geli and Star are precious! I have been trying to convince my sweet husband that we need one since our nest is very empty! Maybe soon..you are very loved and prayed for! Martha in MS
Love reading your entries on the blog. We have had a lot of rain the last couple of days and it has made the weeds go crazy. We too have a new puppy in our family and they are so much fun. Our kids are lovin every minute of it. School is about to start and I am dreading the kids being gone all day long but excited for them to explore their new worlds.
Hope all is well with everyone. Take Care and Blessings!

Love it, love you and love the small group bible study idea.
Ohhh..how we could use that in print. I will be praying that He leads you to putting that one on video and workbook form. Enjoy that precious one! You sound at peace!
Be Blessed Beth,

Praying for you to have a relaxing weekend. I just watched Phelps win another gold. Seriously, most of the gold medals USA has belong to him.
I think your puppies are so cute. They bring such joy and laughter to our lives.
I can't believe it's almost time for the Siesta Fiesta and what a party it will be!! God is waiting for all of us and Beth, I think God will show up, too many of us are under attack, today has been a hard one for a few of us but God fights our battles. Thank you Jesus. He has something very special planned for San Antonio. Many prayers covering you concerning that!!! :))
I took some sinus meds and I think it's making me sleepy. Time for bed.
Thank you so much for ministering to us. I can't wait for Esther to come out.
Much love,
Patty
"You know how women are about going to the ladies' room in groups."
I know what ya mean.. my two female cats (who i love like you do your Star!!) accompany each other to the litter box!! One sits outside of the bathroom (the litterbox is in the closet in the bathroom) and then the other enters to potty and they switch...somethimes the other one doesn't even have to go...'just for moral support'!!! haha!
Living in a house of men (2 boys and a hubby) I can appreciate all the girlfriend support I can get!!
Thanks for sharing the exciting things happening. I needed that word of believing in something big. That is where I find myself today. :)
Oh, Beth - PLEASE publish your work with this class in some fashion! I am a mom, a sixth-grade teacher, and I, too, have a literacy problem. I want to get this thing started early with my children and my students. The Bible - God's living, breathing Word - nothing, absolutely nothing compares. Pray for our Alabama school public school district - we just began a Bible class and have had to turn kids away. Unreal. I would be fascinated to learn what you guys have learned. We're watching the Olympics, too! Friday night fun! Happy weekend.
Paige
Praying for you in this endeavor!!! And for your participants! This is EXACTLY the thing I've been leaving comments about on your blog over the past few months. I really have a desire to know HOW to study the Bible....how to get deeper than just reading it. You know, how to pick it apart. I truly hope that one day this will be an online study that you do or a printed one. Either way, I WANT IT DESPERATELY!
I even want a day in the life of how to research the Bible by Beth and Melissa. That's a good blog post is you ask me! hint hint! :)
Going deeper with God has been a prayer of mine for a long time, but it feels as if I don't know where to begin exactly. I know there's more, I just don't know how to get to it.
Prayers and blessings,
Rebecca
p.s. I'm protecting my Word and telling the devil that he cannot have it! It is NOT up for grabs! :)
How exciting that you have a full class of 18-25 year old women eager to participate in a Bible intro class. And another full class for Curtis. I pray that a passion for God's Word will be unleashed among them exceedingly abundantly above all that you ask or imagine according to His power at work within each of the participants! Can't wait to hear reports about how both classes are going. I'll be praying for all of you!
Hey Beth,
You are making me think about Bible study in the chapel with you all those years ago. It was fun to sit with friends and have you to go over the homework with us. Uh, when I did the homework...nevertheless, it was a seed planted all those years ago. Thanks so much for being faithful to your calling. And thanks for all the great laughs you have given through the years. See you on Sundays or in San Antonio. I am bringing Peggy with me. :)
Beth: I love you so. You know what I'm believing Him for tonight? That my precious daughter-in-law will go into labor!!! She got a good report today that "things are starting." Ezekiel (Zeke) was due last Sunday, so we are about to have a spell to get him here.
She and my son just left our house and I came in to check the blog site and pay a bill on line. We had supper and played cards for 2 hours. Adult children are the greatest blessing...my husband and I prayed over them before they left.
When we stepped outside to say goodbye to them (they only live 12 miles away), we saw the beautiful moon.
It is almost full and my heart is even fuller. The story of this baby is amazing. Infertility for 3 years, a failed adoption, and the miracle of conception. What a story they have to tell. My son is a Pastor - also working on his doctorate - and your Bible class sounds absolutely wonderful. I pray God will light that fire in the hearts of the students. Glory to His Name.
Thank you for ALL you do for us siestas all over,
Love, Georgia Jan
PS: I too thought that your looked rested and beautiful and you could do a Crest White strips commercial - your smile and teeth are really pretty!
He is so capable!!
Sitting to just catch up a bit is always needed between siestas. Thanks for taking the time.
We love you and we are all gearing up for Fall Bible Studies. It is always such a intimate time when you break off into your groups and talk about what God is doing. I know that your small group of "lit" women will be incredible.
Love you sweet sister and I will continue to keep you all in my prayers!!
Oh Beth you simply must get this material published! I just finished leading 75 women for our summer Bible study. (completely outrageous for my background!) and they are so hungry for the Word of God. They were so wonderful and willing to be my first group of students plus endure my own study (What Not To Wear -Clothing Yourself in the Robes of Christ instead of the Rags of this world) Many were new believers and I just know we could help Jesus transform their lives through the study of His word! We will pray that God has a mighty plan for all of the "Word starved" women in our country!
Keep teaching and we will keep learning!
Carrie
So awesome to read about the new puppy life at the Moore's.
My beautiful golden who was named Esther (brother Boris was Moses, until they became Boris and Natasha a la Bullwinkle), dropped dead at the groomers at the age of 7. Our hearts were broken. We never got to say goodbye to her.
But a new beautiful and very smart Golden girl named Morgan, selected us as her new parents. She is such a joy, giving delight to all including my 83 yr old Mom who lost her own dog awhile back.
God gives us our furry kids. And yes, we are constantly tripping over bones, chew toys and bright neon balls which glow in the dark (how cool is that?). May God richly bless the new fur kids with good health.
Oh I do hope that you publish your next semester study of Lit! I was so excited to see it and then SO sad to see that I wouldn't be able to participate since I had crossed out of young womanhood because I was 26!! LOL! :) I will be praying so much for this group of young women!
Beth, I recently learned of your blog. It was such a blessing, because I so wanted to communicate how God has used you to bless my life. Im sad tonight, I sent my baby girl back to college to complete her senior year. She and I attended the Louisville conference. She is a christian but has become distant is her walk. Her name is Sarah, please call her name out to the Lord. I so want her to expereince the intimacy with my dear Savior , that I have come to know and can't live without. God Bless you and your ministry.
I too have had a SUMMER - & you are right sweet siesta, the power of prayer is an awesome thing!
I'm so excited to hear your updates on the new semester - the study of HIS Word is a passion I share, & to give the tools to others is more than exciting. & in small groups - ya'll are in for a HOLY SPIRIT ride! I'll be praying for the students in both groups - I just know that JESUS will light a fire...
Jerry (Jeremiah) has made a big impact in my life this last month - especially 15:16-21. Jerry laid it on thick with the LORD, & the LORD was very clear with him - check out vs 19 in the Amp. version. GOD said basically 'get over it! - make up your mind what you believe, & if you choose to believe me - I'll use you, you'll be my minister.
It was just so good to know that one who was so mightily used by GOD, & had such a passion for the LORD was also plagued with questions. Jerry did decide, he did choose to believe, & GOD did move thru him for his nation.
I choose to believe as well... the rest is up to HIM.
Wow - I sure went on there!
Can't wait to love on all the Siesta's next weekend!

hey Beth, thank you for Amanda's comments about my dog Hershey whom I put down. Only a week since he's been gone. Never had to do that ever before. I think it hit me harder than losing my Dad when I was in my 20's. That may sound cold and I was upset about the loss and referred to my Dad as my link to life is gone. I so wanted to pour my heart out to my Dad at his graveside but could not get there. With Hershey, it was like having a child. I am thinking of going to the SPCA to look for a new one. But, someone suggested to be a volunteer at the SPCA once a week to get through my grief. I might do that and fall in love with one of those pups.
I like the fact that the pups you now have made me think of what beanie and sunny must of looked like when they were pups. My dog was a cockapoo, black furry. such a stabilizer in my life. Love Alli

Beth, I am so happy that you and keith have two adorable new additions to your family.Puppys are such fun! I just had to share with you my experience last Sunday. Last week my husband and I traveled across the mountain to a beautiful Lake for a vacation. When Sunday morning came I felt a strong urge to go to Church. I wasn't sure how my husband would feel but the urge was so strong that I went ahead and mentioned it. He immediately agreed( which he isn't always inclined to do..if you get my drift!) anyway I called around and found a Church a block from our condo. We were greeted warmly and took a seat. A few minutes before the service started a family sat down in the pew in front of us. The first thing that caught my eye was that the two women were carrying your Bible Study member books. I was so anxious to talk with them but alas the service was starting. I did get a minute or two during the meet and greet and the daughter said they are not siestas...darn...but they have done many of your studies and the daughter who lives in California said she just attended your simulcast and that you visited her Church years ago. It was such a blessing to be away from home yet feel so connected as we shared this interest in studying Gods word through your studies! God is using you Beth all over the world. Thankyou for being so real and allowing us to be real right along with you. I will be praying for you and Melissa as you embark on this new Bible study. I know God will bless those in attendance and the two of you for being willing to be used. I can't wait to hear all about it. Cheryl in Everett Wa.
Love you Mama Beth!!
Thank you so much for the update on life.
Praying daily for you and LPM. Always, always.
Have a glorious weekend. See you in SA!
Hugs,
Fran
Man I would like to be that Bible study! I pray that it will be a big success and change some lives.

Every time you talk about your Bible class from your 20's, I picture your teacher--even though I've never met him. I guess you described him so well, that in my mind's eye, he is illustrated.
And I look forward to meeting Him on the streets of Glory. I cried when you shared the story of his homegoing.
Bless him! May the light that he set in you in Jesus' Name be passed along so graciously to those walking in his wake.
Love and prayers for you all!
Holly
Oh Beth, I'm praying for you, for me, and for everyone who will be here this coming weekend. I have been looking forward to it for months and can hardly believe it is almost here. My heart races when I think about it. I am expecting the Lord to do something BIG!
Read about "Lit" on your web site and REALLY wish I was 25 again (turned 50 last Feb) so I could take that course! Been teaching for 9 yrs, but never had anything as in depth as this sounds.
I must tell you that in 1996 a friend told me that I should really take this video Bible study at her church (in Orlando) taught by a woman from Texas who was a "really good teacher" (slight understatement). She said, "If you can get past her hair and her accent she has some great things to say!" Anyway - it was "A Woman's Heart" (the original) and I never really noticed the hair and accent because I was in tears during the very first video! I went home that night and on my face said, "Lord, I don't know what that woman has going on with You, but I want it... I need You like that!" Pretty gutsy prayer for a recovering Episcopalian. So... that began the love afair of my life!! God's sense of humor was such that 5 years later I married (at the age of 43 - first marriage) a man in ministry and a year later God moved us to... DALLAS! Now I have big hair (kinda) but the accent hasn't caught me yet. All that to say, I consider you to have "mentored" me, Beth, in a way that has absolutely drawn me into the most amazing ride of my life with my Jesus! God bless you (and I mean that dearly) and your family and your life's work for Him!
Looking forward to San Antonio; I'm not an official "Siesta" as I didn't sign up in time... but I'm bringing some of my Bible study girlies and we'll be expecting God's presence there to be so BIG!
Much love,
xx - Punky
Hey Beth,
I am so happy for you and your new puppies you have to love! Pets are the BEST! We have 2 Shih-tzus that we are crazy about! They have inspired me to write a book called "My Dog Can Preach". We can learn so much from our furry, four-legged friends!
By the way, did you ever receive the "Memory Stone" I had made in memory of Beanie and Sunny? It was supposed to be for your garden. I sure hope you did because I will be sad if you didn't. Please let me know so I can call the company that I ordered it from in case you did not receive it.
I am so excited about Esther coming out. I cannot wait to do that study! This past week I ready Dee and Kathy's book "Falling in Love with Jesus".
I fell in love all over again with my Heavenly Lord as well as my earthly lord. It was such a tender time with Christ as I was in the mountains of New Mexico and Colorado celebrating my 45th b-day. God is so good! I thought I was just going there for a "playcation" with my man, but my God had a divine appointment for me that was incredible! I also wish I could show you the picture I took of the sunrise He gave me for my b-day. It was breathtaking!!!
I have to tell you this really cool story. I got home late last Sunday night and Monday I was at the church where I serve and am Dir. of Women's Ministry. I was showing my pictures to one of the ladies in my SS class and told her about the sunrise and how the Lord woke me up extra early that morning to give me my gift and spend some time together. Anyway, as I zoomed in on the pic of the sunrise in my camera, we both could see a "cross" to the left of the sun. It was amazing! I was really awestruck. When I got to my office at the church there were several gifts in front of my office door. The ladies in my SS class thought it would be a nice surprise to give me crosses to decorate my office wall with. It was a lovely surprise and so very thoughtful!! So now I have that beautiful sunrise pic in a size 11x14 and all of these beautiful crosses around it. I guess the Lord wanted to give me a cross for my wall, too!!! I reminded Him that the cross He gave me 2,000 years ago was more than enough and I just fell on my face and praised HIM!!! He is so WORTHY!! I love HIM so very much!!!!!!
Love you all, too!
God's blessings for a very sweet and intimate time with Jesus, the ONE and ONLY next week for all of my siestas!!!
Let Him take your breath away as He did mine!!!
XOXOXO,
Roxanne
Hey Beth! How fun to read all of these updates! I am so excited about all God has planned for us in San Antonio! Look forward to the siesta fiesta!
So glad you are getting a little down time, you certainly deserve it. I am grateful for how hard you work to help all of us.
I've wanted to share this, and now I think I will. I decided to believe God for James 5:15 ("And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.") on behalf of the newborn daughter of a friend. I was scared, because I was afraid that I might be taking this verse out of context to say, "Lord, I'm praying in faith that you will make this baby well, and I trust You to do that b/c You say You will." But y'all, He's doing it. I am so humbled...and I am in awe. I want to tell everyone about it, and yet I'm a little nervous that it's going to fall through. Faith on shaky legs...I'm so glad He is gracious.
If you would like to read what's going on with this sweet family, here's the link to their blog: http://noahandjulieroberts.blogspot.com.
Praise You, Lord, for what You are doing.
Hey Beth,
We also want a German Shorthair someday. We have two labs now. It is awesome you are doing a intro class. I know many newly christians and young adults so need this. Yikes!! I could use this.Could you put another video out encouraging us to come together us loners of bible studies and connect whether on phone or e-mail. I think that is a great way to build community and I love to meet people from all over the US. It is awesome to embrace others from all over through teleclasses(phone) and e-mails.
LOL from Darcie in Wyoming
Thanks for your post, Beth. It's fun to hear about your "everyday" life 'stuff'. I love your idea of a basic study of Scripture. I also sense a real need and hunger for BIBLE study and going deeper in the Word from women in this generation. There is such a need for relevant, fun, practical, Biblical teaching. Book clubs are great and fun, and also needed, but there's nothing like The Word of God. You are in my prayers. See you in San Antonio in less than a week....:)
Cindy
Im always in prayer over you! I love hearing whats all going on in your life! I love reading this blog and i truly fell like i have a group of ladies whom i can count on for encuragement in christ!
I love you dearly mamma beth! im always in prayer over you!
So I was in triage on the L&D floor of our hospital on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, 35 weeks along in my pregnancy, with monitors strapped across my belly to monitor contractions/baby's heartbeat. I was exhausted, but couldn't sleep. My dear husband was zonked out on the recliner next to me, and I was flipping through the channels. There were several more channels there than we have at home, and as I was mindlessly pushing the remote button, I saw the sweetest face and heard the cutest southern accent...it was you, Beth! :) I have to tell you, it was so calming to listen to you talk as I was breathing my way through contractions. I only saw the last few minutes, but it was wonderful. You were telling the story of one of 'your girls' who saw her boyfriend as you were driving with her to go out to eat...she told you she hated him, then yelled out the window to him "text me!"...a doctor came in at that point and I missed the end of the story. :( They got my contractions under control and sent me home. I'm telling you, I need to find a way to have that voice accompany me again when it's really 'time' for this baby to come. Wanna fly to Grand Rapids??? :) Blessings to you...
Beth, thanks for the update! The new study for small groups sounds great. The Word is so powerful -- helping to light a passion for it in others is so important. May God richly bless all of your efforts!
It is SO good to hear from you and I absolutely cannot wait to see you next weekend! I so wish you could bring Star with you to San Antonio. Wouldn't it be fun to introduce her to us all up on stage? Oh, we would love it! And let me ask you, stylish Mama, how could I dress up a t-shirt? I ordered a Siesta Fiesta t-shirt, but I want to dress it up a little. Could you give me some ideas?
Love you dearly! And I think the Bible Intro course sounds interesting. My 5 year old and 2 year old know their OT books of the Bible. The 5 year old learned them in Sunday School and the 2 year old just picked them up from the bigger one practicing at home. Isn't that neat? I am so proud of them.
1) MAN was it storming. Like seriously, I had to drive to Memorial City Mall in that. Stinky.
2) Miss Beth, you don't even know the joy in my heart about bible study in the fall. I have already started praying that the Lord would give me a passion for His word like I've never experienced before, and that it would truly change my life. (Is it bad that in praying that, I get nervous of what He will actually ask me to do?! Does that make sense?)But, my heart is truly elated and I CANNOT wait. I know it is going to be amazing!
3) Am THRILLED to be hopefully hugging your neck in ONE WEEK! Oh, the joy.
4) Love you! You encourage me to love HIM more, and oh, how I want to!

I am praying for you and your family. My hubby and I and I just got back from watching a movie at the "Drive In" in Carthage and I had to take along my little pooch, Wrigley. He was very well behaved and of course he loved all the popcorn he got and even looked as though he was watching the movie. :)
So glad to hear that you are resting at least for a moment and do try to do that as often as possible. Rest is a good thing!
Have a great weekend and I will praying for you and all the San Antonio experience. May God continue to do Great things there and may His Name be EXALTED.
P.S. I am reading Breaking Free and seeing my Lord as never before and praise His Wonderful Name, He is revealing Himself and who I am in Him in a whole new way! Thank you so much for all that you do for Him! I love ya!

How did Phelps win that 100 Fly tonight? Amazing! Your words sound soft like rain falling on me, pretty soothing. Praying Deut 32:2 that your teaching will fall like rain this coming weekend. You have the favor of Him who dwelt in the burning bush Deut 33:16. No one like the God of Jeshurun Who rides the heavens to help you Deut 33:26. Love what you are going to do with the Fire in your Bones word. That sounds really good!
So good to hear that life has eased up a bit for you! I wish I could listen in on your classes; back to the basics is a wonderful idea. Nothing compares, does it??
--- Alyson
Beth, so glad to hear that things are easing up for you!
Back to the basics is a wonderful idea; wish I could listen in on your new classes...
Nothing compares to Him, does it?

I love the last line, "Believe Him for something big, He is so capable." I'm praying along those lines, and trying to live my life that way...
Dear Beth,
I hope you dont mine me writing and sorry if you do. You may never get this message but I thot I would try anyways
You don;t know me and I dont even know you and never heard of you until this wednesday that just past by. I was flippin thro channels on TV and I came across you on some show called life today. I watched the rest of you speaking and then thought that I woould google your name and I came across this site.Well I guess the reason I am writing you is to tell you that you messed me up that day I watched you:-). I'll tell you why. I'm 24 years old and I'm 12 weeks pregnant and today meanng Friday I was suppose to go have my abortion done but I couldnt do it for some reason, I think you had something to do with it- what!!! I am not to sure but I still do feel that abortion is my best choice and for the better but everytime I go pick up the phone to make another appt for it , I think of you and then I hang up and cry. I want to tell you that your a pretty good speaker and even knowing I dont believe in this god you still touched my heart for some reason. Thank you
Sara
Beth -- I'm just lifting your name up to the Lord and asking for an extra measure of His grace and peace to be poured out over you. You really did my heart good when I read that wrapping up your work and getting it to print is stressful.
I just turned in my ms to my publisher (and I'm blessed & honored to be working with one of your book publishers). I'm working on revisions and I'm stressed.
Thanks for living transparent - you're a true blessing to this frazzled, but optimistic soul. I'm praying that all goes smoothly for you and for me. Oh, and I'll see you in New Orleans -- can't wait!
Zoey is so smart to, in fact never had a dog like her.I am haveing an outstanding weekend because of a very haerad heart brake, God let me get my all most in a few weeks 14 year old grandson.I got him thur night & will keep him till Mon.We have had a blast.

Hi Beth and family..I am new here and so excited to be here. I have had a busy summer too and have been feeling distant from God. It is a terrible feeling so I am working on reconnecting myself. Prayer is a big factor. I look forward to your new study. I have participated in many of yours and boy do I grow throught them. Thank you. I have a wonderful husband who is a Battalion Commander at a fire dept. and I have two adorable daughters..Natalie is 8 and Phoebe is 4.
I look foward to growing in Christ with the fellow memebers. God Bless
Beth,
I'm so glad you are feeling more peaceful and that your little Star (and Geli!) is brightening up your already lively household!
Thank you for conversing with us like we are some typical girlfriends just chattin' on the front porch. With a deployed hubby and most family and friends living far away, the posts written by you, Amanda and Melissa are a true blessing for me!
God bless you and your sweet family!
Love,
Kristen
Hey Beth - I needed a little pick-me-up this evening - so, thanks. And puppy talk brought a smile to my exhausted face ~
Warm in Alaska.
Beth, I am SO excited about San Antonio and I have been praying for you and for everyone attending!
As much Bible study as I've done, some of those basics (like how the Bible got to the people) are things that I still don't know. I hope you'll publish something eventually. It sounds like they will be such wonderful classes!
I'm looking forward to doing Esther! Can't wait to see you next weekend!
Blessings
Michelle
Good morning YOU darlin' thang! :o)
Know that you and your ministry are being covered on this end, especially for next weekend in San Antonio. I have NO DOUBT that we'll not only SEE Him there, but that He'll show up and SHOW OUT!
And PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE publish your Bible class material! We need it for small groups that help transition brand new believers from opening their Bible for the first time, to digging deep for other studies, like, oh, let's say a Beth Moore study, for instance. I'll be praying over it as you pilot the study.
So glad things are a little more peaceful in your world - it has been quite a summer, hasn't it?
Loving you with the love of Jesus and a thankful heart,
Melinda
Thanks for the update, Beth....I've missed my Siestas for the last 2-3 weeks b/c I've started a new job and BTW I LOVE IT ALREADY (praise Jesus) but have been swamped with all the newness and truly have felt like a trout (albeit a happy one) swimming up stream most days. However, I know that I'm designed and called to be highly effective and it will calm down when I get settled.
So glad the Moores, puppies and the Siestas are all well and blessed---never doubted that great things were going on.
I'll miss the Siesta Fiesta next week but send hugs and greetings to you all. Tootles! J
PS the pics from the wedding are great ;-)
LOVE the concept for your class! And what a treat to do it with your kids! I hope God leads you to publish it; I'm sure thousands would be blessed by it!
Praying for you!
Much love...
My parents have 2 dogs...one schnawzer and one pomeranian ( as if I could spell)...
I got Augie the schnawzer that little hunted duck at Walmart..and it will not quit squeaking...and then the pomeranian " Amber" she will try to stand on her little hind legs just trying to get attention...
and then there is my cat Boo...
who tried to make her own blog post several times yesterday:)
Animals are nuts:)
Anyway, I will miss not seeing you all at SF, my heart was set on going, but God plans are always best..so have a blast, hug as many siestas as you can, and take in every moment:) I am sure it will be one of the best weekends of your lives:)
I pray Mama Beth, that you don't let the Siesta Fiesta end there...but have more in the future:)
Y'all are some of my favorite people too!!!
I love turning on the computer knowing I am about to fellowship:)
Love it, love you, Be blessed:)!!!!

I LOVE the LIT idea. I too am right smack in the middle of teaching "Personal Bible Study" at our church. A true stretch for me, but loving sharing my passion for God's word with the class. We have looked at meditation, bible translations, inductive methods of study, and my personal favorite how to do a 'word study', this week it will be 'character study'. Digging and finding treasures in God's word on our own is IMPACTING! Enjoy your time with your class. His inspiration flowing through you ~ igniting others!
What an interesting study! I would love to take that myself. I teach and lead Bible studies, but I have never had a class like that. I've kinda taught to myself through studying, Sunday School and my commentary. or God has taught me rather! I have a lady at church who is trying to help some other ladies that are very new Christians. She was a little worried because she herself doesn't know alot. I assured her she would do just fine and I showed her my commentary. She went and got her one! She leads Bible studies in her home, but these ladies were getting lost so she decided to start with the basics with them. I think we miss the mark on this alot. There are so many people who do not know anything about the Bible or God for that matter. When they start coming to church, they miss out on the basic stuff that you would normally learn as a child. Great Great idea. I know God will do wonders with this study and I hope you do take it to the printer! I'm glad that you are able to rest a bit now! Put on you houseshoes and your robe and take a well deserved break! We can't wait til San Antonio!
Amen, Beth! "Believe God for
something big!" Thank you for
your leadership in the NOG study
during this challenging summer.
So many prayers answered for a long list of people...God is so great. During a drive (in a driving rain) with my 2 daughters last week, the younger one said (after the rain), "Mommy, God answered my prayer. I was on hold for a little while because some people were waiting ahead of me, but then the rain stopped, and He answered my prayer!" During the course of this summer, He has made many streams in the desert, and I want to share my thanks for this.

I cannot wait for next weekend!
Love,
Angie in Michigan!!!
Beth, thanks for the update. Oh, I hope and pray that the Lord will lead you to publish this Bible study. This sounds like something I could really be in need of. Can't wait to do Esther. I think our ladies group is doing Stepping Up this fall. I hope so. So glad to hear Amanda is feeling better and little "fig" is growing. You think your house is crazy now. Wait until the new baby arrives. Watch out! Praying blessings in abundance for the Moore's, Jones' and Fitzpatricks. Love ya'll so much even though we have never met.
I have learned so much through your studies and I feel I have made GREAT strides in my relationship with God. We are closer than ever. Praise Him so much for his blessings on us.
God Bless
Beth, I will be in St.Petersburg, Russia next weekend but I will be praying my head off for that fab weekend with the Siestas. Wish I could be there. This whole blogging 'thang' has me mesmerized. Really getting some awesome words from so many different women.
#3 sounds like the coolest idea. My Bible study group is doing Anointed, Transformed & Redeemed this fall - we are so excited. Because in addition to going deeper in the Word, we will get to appreciate three phenomenal hairstyles. Hallelujah.
Praying for y'all!
Beth,
Praise God and Amen! I work at an elementary school that's under renvo, so I can't make it to the Siesta Fiesta - but will be covering it in prayer! Those quiet seasons, even the short 5 minutes ones, are such a gift from God.
Can I ask the Siestas, many of whom homeschool, to cover the upcoming school year in prayer? Whether private, public, church-based, or at home, I'm feeling called to start covering this upcoming school year in prayer.
Peace,
Kim Feth

Good Morning Momma Beth:
I am thrilled that your household is full of love and youngins... that helps us stay young ourselves. Puppies and babies wow who could ask for anything better. They just know how to love love love.
Rested, well my yes you look very rested and looks to me that there is a new haircut there too. Looks mighty fine on you I must say.
This blog is amazing. I look at it everyday.. Somedays when I can't seem to just flat get it together I go back and re read some of the old ones and He shows up for me everytime. What a blessing He has given you to help us all love Him more!
I wish this Austin girl lived in Houston. I use to go to First Baptist when I was in college and I miss it so. And even though I am not a beginner in the word, I would love to come and take the class LIT. I think we always learn something new when the Lord comes to visit no matter how old we are.
Lemon drop... yes I truly understand how you are in love with this cute little person and he/she is not even here yet. My first grandbaby is supposed to be coming into this world on Aug. 29th and I can't wait. BUT, I have given her strict instructions that She must wait until after the 23rd. I have the most awesome plans with a bunch of Siesta's that weekend and I don't won't to miss San Antonio for the world. So I keep praying that she stay warm and tight for two more weeks. She will be loved!!! My baby boy is having his first baby... wooo feeling kind of old here.
Anyway, thanks for sharing your world and your family with us! I love you Beth and even though we have not meet pesonally yet, I feel like I have known you along time. You are one of my greatest blessings that God has given me.
Can't wait for next Friday! Hot tomale Siesta Ville in San Antonio
Love you Beth,
Lichelle
I learned the books of the Bible as a song in the second grade--and then my whole family learned it on a road trip to New Mexico--because I sang it over and over and over... Just ask my mother.
Even now, we all sing under our breaths when it's time to find Nehemiah--"Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, Job, and Psalm..."!
Can't wait to see you this weekend--and praying for all those who can't make it. You will be missed!
Beth, when you come to mind lately, I pray for your journey, to walk dead center in the plan God has for you, and particularly for God to make your path smooth, (or maybe smoother because He always has a wild ride, and I suspect you like it that way.) Rest in Him. I hope to say hello in San Antonio this weekend. Love you, Annette
my dear hubby and I (he's one of the pastors of our church) have taught a Bible intro class similar to the one you're doing during the Sunday School hour. We invited some brand-new baby Christians and even some who were investigating "this whole God-thing." One of our members brought a friend to church whose children have come but she had never darkened the doors. She had said, "Maybe I'll go, but I'd sure like it if a church had a 'Bible for Dummies' class, you know, like the yellow books." Well, she sat down, looked in the bulletin, and said, "hey, look! a Bible for Dummies class!" She started attending, asked questions, and gave her heart and life to Christ a few months later!!! She's such a delight (I discipled her for about a year til she moved away), and the "Bible for Dummies" name has stuck :)
One of my favorite questions was from a lady who had been given a personal-sized Bible as a gift. She looked around the room at the different Bibles people had, came up and whispered in my ear, "Miss Bev, my Bible's small; would you look and see if some chapters are missing?"
Pray for us in the Pacific Northwest; it's such a ripe field of harvest!

I to am praying for God to reveal himself in a big way in San Antonio.
Our group of 8 are traveling from Houston. We're a sampling of a group that studies together each fall and spring.
We fluctuate between 10-20 ladies of all ages, various churches, different economic and historical backgrounds.
Beth you would love it. I sure do. We've so enjoyed your studies and are excited to participate with you in praise and worship in San Antonio.
Lauri
PS~ I've been an infrequent "lurker" (is that even a word) on the blog for some time, but thought the end of the summer, your summer study, and our trip to SA would be a good time to jump in.
I am so excited to hear about your small group study. Just such a study has been on my heart for our church for some time. I will be anxious to hear your input and sometime to "pick" your brain about such a study.
L
Beth,
Our nog group is desperately going to miss meeting together and studying together. We've decided to meet monthly during the fall and spring. We'd like to do another Bible study with a similar style to this one. Any suggestions? We LOVE your studies, but can only meet once a month. We'd also like one that doesn't include videos simply because of the budget. Ideas?
Thanks for the blessed, wonderful, life-changing, transforming summer Bible study.
Rachelle
Sara, we are so glad you hopped on here with us. As you are struggling with whether or not to believe in God, I hope you will feel the deep significance of having had a personal encounter with Him on Wednesday. That was actually Him that messed you up that day instead of me but I'm so glad I got to be along for the ride. He loves you and has a profound plan for you and that precious child of yours. I bet you've been betrayed by a lot of key people along the way but I want you to know, God will not betray you. I'm praying that He will show Himself to you in very unexpected and undeniable ways and that you'll put your trust in Him through His Son, Jesus.
Roxanne, YES I got the memory stones! I never knew who sent them to me! One of my staff members just handed it to me one afternoon when I was on my way home and still so deeply sad over our losses. I'd just told her that I wanted to order some stones like that for their little graves and she said, "Somebody already did." I couldn't believe it. I am so sorry that we did not get word back to you! Forgive me! We were in kind of a blur, just having moved into the building then all sorts of crises happened at once. I see that memory stone every single day. It went in my garden on those graves the moment I got home from work. It gives me great comfort. You are so kind!
PS. Sisters, I wish I could respond back and forth with all of you like this. If I answer back to someone, please don't think I didn't prioritize your comment or hear your question. It's just that sometimes I have more time to do this than others. I love all of you so much.
Oh, Beth! As I read about "Lit", I couldn't help but wish that I was a part of it. It sounds SO wonderful. My heart longs for a Bible course just like that. May God totally bless it!
I found your words about God giving ANY willing soul a love for Him and the word, a spirit of wisdom, and revelation to know him better so encouraging. Thank you :)
I'm believeing God for something BIG, right along with you :)
Personally, I would love to have some type of access to a Bible Intro course. It has been difficult to find a course where you find the information and the fire of passionate love for the Lord and the gift of His Word. My prayer is that if this isn't a study that the Lord leads you to, that we will all find someone like the man who taught your course. Someone who knows the word and loves it enough to cry, knowing how God must love us to give us such a gift.
Thank you for for you're update, my prayers include you and your family regularly.
Lorrie
Hey, Mama Beth... I am sooo glad to feel connected to ypu guys again!!! I couldn't do ya'll's summer Bible study because I had already started "Psalms of Ascent" and was too into it to put it on hold... However, I felt like an interloper here on the blog but I am glad you guys had fun!!!
I am excited about your new endeavor with small Bible Study group and wish for the thousandth time that I lived in Texas so I could come too!!! I sure do hope that God leads ya'll to share it with us.... Sometimes having the heart for something and not knowing what to do with it is "corn-fusing"!!! You are the best.
Beth,
when you were in Louisville, you were talking about how you just fell in love with the Word and my heart was just shouting, "Me Too!" (and why am I constantly surprised that I love it and long to spend more time in it?) Then, you said that you didn't realize it at the time, but the Word was healing your heart along the way. That spoke to my heart so much. I want that "me, too" as well. Thank you for that word. (Isn't it the coolest thing to have His fire burning in your heart? I am SO excited!)
I so appreciate your willingness to serve. I'll be praying for your upcoming classes! (and trying not to wish that I could be there. Cause I don't want to be envious!)
blessings,
karen
Beth, if you taught a class on how the bible was printed, binded and distributed it would be full. BTW, I second what Russell said in her comment.
Siestas, gotta put this out there. I've had a precious friend for two years now that has never accepted Christ. All of the sudden I started feeling a restless need to finally bring it up, whereas before I was pretty certain the spirit was just telling me to shut up and just live right. After tons of pre-prayer I went to "hang out" with her yesterday, and I TOTALLY BLEW IT! I thought I was prepared but when I got there, I felt like I was gonna be sick. Anyway, I chickened out, which is the only thing I wasn't expecting to happen. A little prayer, please...
Sam*
Beth;
Please, could you try to have "LIT" videotaped and posted on GODTUBE in 10 minute segments? We'd all love to attend a study like that!!!!
Hoping in CA,
One poster mentioned the sadness of sending her daughter back to college...I'd like to recommend Beth's book "Feathers in My Nest" to anyone at - or approaching - this milestone. It will minister to your heart deeply.
On a lighter note...we were a family of two daughters (like the Moores)...we both left for college and marriage...but our mom said she wasn't lonely until the dog died!
I read your post last night and thought MAN would I LOVE to take an intro Bible course like that and would I LOVE even more to have a course like that for some of my girls I lead! I thought about it all night last night... I have to go comment in the morning!
Oh Beth I am going to pray that you all will publish it! Or something like it... a kind of beginner course... I too have such a passion for this! I wish I could write my testimony out (I won't... but) I have such a passion for church girls like me that sat in church every Sunday and was there in body... but my heart kind of there but pretty far away... I grew up Episcopal so you really don't get Bible teaching... it wasn't till I was 30... that I had something bring me to my knees, PRASIE GOD! and I fell so in love with Jesus! I remember my first Bible study someone said look up Romans... I had no clue! Was mortified tried so hard to look cool finding it! : ) And my Dad was a preacher! (sorry Dad!)
I joined every Bible study I could in Nashville... one of the firsts being BSF "Israel and the Minor Prophets" it was so hard but I began to learn... I couldn't believe this was all out here and no one had told me! (or had they and I couldn't hear it?)
Oh my goodness! Beth I could go on and on... there is such a need for this! We need a study out there... especially one by you! The way you teach reaches so many... is so unthreatening and invites everyone in regardless of denomination... your love for Jesus and the people you teach is contagious! Oh I can't tell you the need!!!!!
I promise I will lead groups using it! I want girls to get it and see how cool Jesus is! Living in the Bible Belt there are so many that sit in church and have no clue what they are missing out on! We have such a mission field in our own churches girls!
Sorry this is so long! I could write SO much more! I am not a writer so I am not good at condensing! But I have such a passion for girls to "Get it too!" I think this would be just awesome... Oh my heart is just racing at the thought!
Oh I am so excited and will be praying something comes of this! It could be huge!
Emmy : ) YEAH! OK going to start praying now!
See you all next week in SA! So fun!
Hi Beth, thanks for the update on your stressful summer. We are all very grateful to be able to look forward to the fruit of your stress when it's published. Your pain truly is our gain! I have been so greatly impacted by your love for God's Word. I always credit you for inspiring me to be awed and in love with the Word and I credit the Lord for giving me the desire for it.
I had the blessing of seeing you in Minneapolis for a very timely message in my life. Your words have stuck like glue to me and I have been living in Hebrews 12 for some time after that! My girlfriends and I had the privilege of sitting just a few rows behind you and Keith and I cannot tell you how thrilling that was for me!! I literally FOUGHT back the urge to take your picture, and then to just run up and hug you and say "I'm a siesta! You have no idea how much I LOVE and APPRECIATE you!!" But, the Lord helped me get my priorities right and make sure all worship was directed towards Him! I was laughing with my husband about it after the Friday night session, because he knows how I feel and he said to me, "I don't understand why you don't just go up and introduce yourself to her?" I said, "Honey, it doesn't work that way. There are 7,000 women there who would all love to do that...she has a bodyguard for crying out loud to protect her from crazies like me!" I thought that was cute of him. He really wanted me to get some one on one time with you!! I've already told the Lord, the next time I'm in Houston, please, please, please lead me to the Starbucks you frequent!! Then I won't feel bad about getting that hug!!
Thank you for all that you and your sweet family pour out for the Lord on our behalf. We love the Moores, Jones, and Fitzpatricks!! And now those puppies too...almost makes me want to get a german short hair playmate for my golden, Ryely!! Blessings to you!!
Love, Stephanie
Sara, please listen to what your heart is telling you. You might have heard Beth talking, but it was God speaking to you. Please don't have the abortion. There are so many good, loving Christians out there that could help you understand who this God is, that Beth was talking about. You must know that we're an imperfect people and a lot of us make the mistake of condemning someone rather than helping with the perfect love of Jesus. Please don't ignore the love of the God who loves you without measure, because of a few of His flawed people.
I'm praying for you Sara.
Melana in Wyoming
So glad for your moments of rest. You must do more of that, friend.
God bless you all as you gather next weekend for the Siesta Fiesta. My body may reside in NC, but my heart will be with you in TX. By the way...
I just looked at your schedule for next year and don't see my beloved state or sister states on your circuit. Please come our way again soon! We love us some Beth over on the East Coast!
peace~elaine
"Is not my Word like fire?" - chills, sister Beth. Simply gives me chills, and a GREAT BIG desire to draw more near to the flame of His Word.
Hi Miss Beth - I am desperate for a class like the one you Melissa and Curt will teach - do you have any suggestions of books/materials I could read from home that would help. I have taken many Bible Studies but I would love a great foundation study like the one you are teaching and let me be the first confirmation YES PLEASE put it in Bible Study format I would be all over it like chocolate on a strawberry!! Maybe if you get other ladies asking you might post a couple of suggested reading materials??
Thank Beth and God bless you as you all lead this study. Love you all so much.
Beth,
Thank you for checking in with us. It's always a blessing to hear from you. However, I was so moved by the note from Sara that I stopped reading and bawled! I'm praying that she realizes that it was God that was wrapping His arms around her when she saw you on TV! He has perfect timing!! Thank you, Beth for replying back to her. I think we all realize that you can't answer each one of us, but I love that you know WHEN you need to! That's why I love you and all you do for us so much.
Sara, we love you, too! Keep coming back to this blog--there are great things happening!
Enjoy your quiet time, Beth and we'll see you in 6 days!!!
Mama Beth, I love you so very much! I am gonna miss y'all like crazy next weekend. I guess God has other plans for me that weekend. But I so wish I was gonna be with you. But, money wise, we just couldn't do it - and I am not sure who feels worse, me or my man that he can't send me.
I will be praying for you all, and watching the DVD set I won from The Siesta Fiesta blog - havin my own little mini fiesta!! Any body from MI want to join me - TERI, hint hint!!! - for a fiesta of our won?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Love ya!
Becky Jo
Mama Beth - Thank you so much for being real and inviting us in to your life. Can't wait to see what happens with your Fall Study!
p.s. I am a little disappointed that Charlotte 09 has been canceled. The nice gentleman at Living Proof 800 number had to offer some counseling as I sat their in shock and tell him he had to be wrong - 3 times. :)
No worries Beth, no worries! I know that you read the comments and that you pray for our needs. I am so glad that you responded to Sara...I pray that she'll keep coming back.
I want to say a quick word to Sara:
Sweetheart....you are so precious to God!!!!! Precious, precious, precious. Know that He loves you so very much. And yes, as Beth said in her comment it was He who "messed you up". He wants you to trust HIM with your life. I hope that you will continue to check in here in Siestaville because it is full of wonderful women of God. You can count on these women to pray for you when you need it and to help you out with information when you are confussed.
Sara, your baby is a gift from God. I have no idea what you are going through with your decision regarding your pregnancy but know that your uneasiness to follow through with an abortion is God speaking into your heart....keep listening to Him. He will guide you!
I am praying for you sweetheart! Please keep coming back to Siestaville....we love you!
You are making me want a puppy and we are not dog people!! Stop, help! Just Kidding. Thanks for the update.
Looking so forward to Esther, halfway through Daniel right now.
Please promise to have another Siesta Fiesta next year as I can't attend this one.
Wendy
Dearest Beth,
Thanks for checking in with us. Here in the convent we each get a "hermit day" once a month - where we are free from the daily schedule to spend some time apart with Him. Today is mine and I will say an extra prayer or two for you and all that you are doing to bring the Word to so many thirsty souls.
You have been such a blessing in my life - hope you know how much this Siesta loves you!
Peace to all the Moores (two legged and four!)
love, Sister Lynn
Dear Mama Beth,
I am so glad that you are getting some down time. You deserve it. I will pray for your back to basic classes. I have been a little distant from God lately and struggling to get back on the path with Him in the lead. But I miss Him when he is not with me and so I pray. Thank you for sharing so much with us. I truly feel like we are all girlfriends sharing in the front porch. I wish I could see you in San Antonio. But I will be praying that God does something big.
love you much
Beth,
He is so good to call you to another project and to show off with respect to your precious ones taking HIS legacy into their lives.
To be able to teach with the people you are crazy about. I love Him so.
It is so great to hear about the antics of your new family members, Star & Geli. What a blast to watch them love on one another.
I have been lifting up the Fiesta to the Lord and asking Him for his anointing, protection, and passion for all of us, and if He desires to show off big where the weather is concerned.
I pray that you will find yourself in His protective arms and it feels so right to rest in that.
God bless your family and can't wait to hug your neck.
Celeste
Would love to see you do a Bible Study on the Hebrew roots of the faith and ancient church history. Nothing aside from encountering the Lord Jesus has changed me more. Shalom
SARAH....thank-you for your honesty on this blog. Nothing is ever by chance...God loves you so much and He so wants you to know Him. The precious new life inside of you was designed and created by Him and is so precious to Him also. Don't stop searching for Him Sarah...He wants you to find Him!!! Praying for you..Leanne from Vancouver, Canada.
Please please publish that study in some form or fashion! I saw it on the LPM website and so wished that I lived in the Houston area. :)
Praying for you fall semester and next weekend. Can't wait to see the Siesta Fest unfold up close and personal.
Our home will attain its first little canine baby some time soon. My youngest has secured permission from my husband to acquire a teacup yorkie... now all she has to do is find one!
She and I both are so excited. This puppy yet to be identified already has a name Pogo Curly...
Don't ask - it has been a tug of war since we both want the puppy. :o)
Starzy sounds just adorable and Geli... well they both sound like a hoot and a whole roll of fun in two furry little bodies.
Congrats on the Esther wrap up - can't wait to see the finished work.
God is so good Beth, and we love you, too. Thanks for being so genuine and real with us - and meeting with us here. You are a treasure we thank God for everyday.

The price of what you do for us on behalf of the Lord is the stress, I guess. And I'm so sorry and thankful for it at the same time because your words and studies have enhanced and enriched my walk and exuberance for the Lord to no ends.
Thank you for giving your all. Get the rest, relaxation, and pampering you need to carry on. Relish in it and soak it up when it comes - for you truly deserve it.
grinning about the dog world :)
And THRILLED about what God has in store for the smaller bible study you and Melissa will do....OH man!
Sara, I too am so happy that you had an encounter with our most awesome God. Tears are streaming down my face as I think of the decision that you chose to make concerning your baby. This precious baby is a beautiful gift from God to you. Sadly, my husband and I have tried to have children for eight years, but no luck. So, to read that you have chosen to keep this sweet child blesses me more than I would have ever thought. I'm praying that God will continue to make Himself real to you and that He will rock your world with His abundant love for you.

I pray that the new study on Bible Basics is wonderful! If all goes as planned I also pray that this is a study you will publish. I had 2 guests with me at a recent Living Proof Live and I am trying to find tools to help them keep their hand over their hearts and protect the seeds of the Word that were planted! God did so many wonderful things through you in their lives that weekend, I want to help them keep it going! Any basic beginner Bible Study suggestions? :-)
So glad that life is going well and the big stresses are subsiding. Relief from loss is always welcome. I love to hear you talk about your loved ones...even the pups. You describe them so that I feel like I know them when you done. Thanks for the stories! Also, my friend and I were just discussing the need at our church for some sort of intro to the Bible course and honestly, I said the same thing about God's word to her...my passion is to get folks to fall in love with Jesus as He speaks to them personally through His word. I am just not sure how to accomplish that at our church...would you pray for me about this? Thank you so much Miss Beth.
Thank you for investing your life in Bible studies. I personally am so anxious to get my hands on Esther I can hardly stand it. This woman's story has intrigued me for quite some time and I can't wait to dig into some new revelation...dare I ask, what's next??? Much love to you, girl.
Sara,
I'm glad you had the courage to make a comment on this blog. I agree with you... Beth is a great speaker! I want you to know that you touched my heart this morning and that I am praying for you and for your precious child. God has a great plan for you, for your baby and He LOVES you just as you are right now. Take it from me, I have had a lot of hurt and I have done some pretty awful things in my life and it was in that moment that I thought no one cared and I wasn't worth anything that God wrapped His arms around me and told me He loved me. I pray that you too will know and accept that love.
Beth, Thank you for teaching us that it is possible to be in love with the God of the universe!
Our Thursday group will begin Stepping Up next month, and hopefully Esther after that. Thank you for wonderful studies. I think I've done more than half a dozen now, love 'em.
Aren't puppies a delight? When our first Yorkie died (had diabetes & we didn't know it until too late), I had a new one the next week. It really helped with the sorrow. She, Pookie, is my shadow, she'll be 12 in Sept.
Sure wish it wasn't so far to TX from CA. I'm sure your new group will love the study. Isn't the Word of God marvelous?

Sara,
I'm praying for you...
I love the updates on the puppies - and you guys of course :)
The nickname shooting star is HILARIOUS!!
The Bible Study sounds great - keep
us informed about the study so we can pray for you guys - it sounds wonderful
LOVE IT!
See you in SA
Kim
I would LOVE it if you guys do turn the "Lit" study into a published study!! Ever since you first mentioned it is based off of a study that got you really passionate about the Word, I've been praying that you would put something like it out for the rest of us! I hate that I can't come to the class, but will be praying that God does tremendous things for everyone involved in it!
Love,
Summer
Beth, I am so glad everything is better for you. God and time help heal the hurts. Pray for me in the days ahead to have strength, courage and perseverance.
In Him,
Bonnie
Dearest Sara,
God is real and so very near to you at this time. I do not know you nor do I know your circumstance, but the Lord wants me to tell you how much HE loves you. He is not mad at you and is not shaking His Holy finger at you. He just wants you to run to Him and tell Him all about what is going on in your life. He already knows your hurts and your fears, dear one, He just wants to hear your side of the story. Draw close to God because He is already there for you.
God had a divine appointment for you as you were channel surfing that day. He used Beth in your life to speak to you as He has in all of our lives. Perk your ears up, sweet child, your Father has something very important to say to you. Please know that you have sisters all over this (blog) world, who are praying for you at this very moment. Cry out to Him and let the God of this universe heal you, love you, and save you.
There is no condemnation or judgement here, only forgiveness and wholeness. Let Him comfort you right now. Your baby is no accident, but an answer to prayer. Your Heavenly Father formed him/her in your womb. If not for your arms, for that of another mommy whose arms are empty and she has been praying for this very child.
Sara, you and your baby are deeply loved!!!! God bless you both.
Roxanne
Conf-FESSION time! I have spent the past 3 days becoming an "official SIESTA!" I started at the beginning of your blog, and used every sleeping moment of my kids to read through! The laundry is behind, the dishes are behind, my hair is a little unwashed...BUT I"M IN LOVE WITH ALL OF YOU! I feel a part of your family! Thanks for the glimpses of your life, and then ways you use this blog to minister to so many! You will now be one of my first and favorite blog spots.
LOVES,
Tonya
I love reading the messages in this blog, they are like you and I have met and you are giving me updates!
Beth -
Your new study sounds like something I desperately need. Will you share any of your material with us online?
Oops - I was referring to the Fall Study - learning the basics in my last comment.
Will you be taping it or will you share some of the subject matter and Bible study methods with us during the study?
Dear Sara,
I'm so glad that you had the courage to write Beth. I wanted to chime in and let you know that I'm praying for you, too, but to also give you the opportunity to talk to a friend of mine who's walked a mile in your shoes. Her name is Pat Layton, and as someone who knows, intimately, the pain and struggle that you are currently facing, she has built a ministry out of helping others in the same position. She, like Beth, is a Lifeway author and speaker. I know she'd be happy to hear from you, and more than happy to help.
You can email her from her blog at patlayton.blogspot.com.
You and that sweet baby of yours are LOVED more than you could ever wrap your brain around - you can believe it and rest in it!
Melinda
Beth,
I know what you mean about being in love with the Word and wanting everyone else to be!! I have to admit that I get a little disheartened when ladies show no interest in Bible study or other events to encourage and teach ladies. Fortunately I have a wonderful group of my own homegirls who 'do the Word' together every Tuesday and they love it as much as I do.
This fall we are not doing a BETH study. The Spirit has guided us to Priscilla Shirer's "He Speaks To Me" and "Discerning the Voice of God". We miss our Beth-time but oh my goodness is He ever speaking to this former prodigal through Priscilla.
See you next week in San Antonio. Praying down the Holy Spirit on the whole affair!!
Leah
Thank you for sharing your family with us. The Lord has been giving me a hunger for his word and I praise him for just that. The ladies at my church are beginning our 4th study --Believing God and we just can't wait to get our hearts into this one. i pray that all the Moores have a blessed day!
I think it's so cool you and your children will be having a basic Bible class. I became a Christian (I thought) 20 years ago and I knew nothing. But in October 2006, I became a new creation, a child of Christ, His daughter. In fact, I'm being baptized tomorrow!
Last summer, I swallowed my pride and asked a close friend of mine to help me understand the basics. We had a sweet time. We went through "One to One Discipling." This summer I went through Believing God with another close friend. We were able to take our time each time we met and really discuss our beliefs. Both summers have been life-altering for me.
God has been laying on my heart I need to reach out to others who have been in the same boat as myself. I believe this is a weakness we have within the body of Christ.
Thank for your servant heart for our King.
Julie

Thanks for sharing. It is good to hear an update. I would love to see a picture of Geli too! I grew up with shorthairs, so they have a tender place.
Your new class sounds exciting. I will be praying for wisdom and strength. I will also be praying that God maximizes the rest you are having, blessing you 100 fold.
God is calling us to a new adventure. Some of our family is excited, I have trepidation, but am trusting that if He is moving in this direction, He is in this boat with us. Come what may. Why do we find so much security in what we know?
Let the wind blow Lord. I choose to trust you.
Love to all,
Jina
Sara -- as Roxanne wrote earlier -- thank you for paying attention to that little voice in your heart calling you to care for your precious child. God loves you and that baby so much! Our world would be less without you both in it. You're on my heart and in my prayers, with so much love. Hard to believe, isn't it, that a total stranger could love and care about you. But that's what God's love does. I'm praying that you will know that love is real through some person close to you. God has a plan!
And believe God for something BIG. He's so capable.
AMEN!!!
I can't wait for San Antonio!!
Thanks so much, Beth! So happy about the puppies and Little Limon and everything!
I would love it if you made that Bible introduction stuff into a study for all of us. I've been so hungry for God's Word lately and just wanting everyone I know to crave it like I do. You're soooooo good at doing just that!
Hugs and squeezes to you!!
Sara,
Just wanted you to know how precious YOU are to God...He loves you so much...He created you and formed you just as He created and formed the little one that you are carrying...You can trust God...He is always faithful...Praying you will come to know Him through His Son, Jesus Christ...HE is The Way, The Truth and The Life!!!...I will be praying for you!
The last 2 sentences of your blog was a great reminder to me that I do not walk this road of life alone. Sometimes I am so busy trying to do what is right in life that I forget how big and capable God is. What a relief! Thank you.
Beth,
Spent last night in Houston with my husband. We had a great time together. Glad I didn't run into you bcs. that Houston humidity is horrible when you have naturally curly hair and tons of product. Houston reminds me of the home state MS. Boy is the humidity bad there too. Hopefully San Antonio will be nicer on our do's. See you next weekend.
Sara,
God is so in love with you. Praying you will hear Him as He calls out to you.
Beth
This is such an issue with me right now. I have been doing your bible studies and others for years now and I absoutely love them. They were what I needed.
But lately I have been feeling the pull to get into the Word for myself. To pull up closer to God and ask him the questions on my mind and get the answers directly from Him.
But I have been feeling overwhelmed lately. I am not sure where to start. I feel like an actor with stage fright..stuck and frozen in position when I sit down in the morning for my quiet time.
I just don't know what to start, I don't know what to do, where to go. I have a journal, and can't seem to put pen to paper.
I would sure love it if you would consider making your small bible study a future topic for one of your own LPM bible studies. Teaching women how to get into the Word...where to started, different methods of study, how to go about learning scripture...all those tips and things you've learned along the way that have helped you.
In one of your studies, you mentioned how when you first started, you bought all the cutest supplies you could find. You attended your first class, ready with the hippest markers, latest gadgets and books and the sweetest looking notebooks, and then you met a man that was so on fire for God, that you "Just wanted what he had" when it came to a relationship with God.
Life has come full circle for you. That is how I feel when I do one of your bible studies. I want to get to a point where I can discern, learn, listen and hear what you do when you walk with God in your own garden. Thank you for constantly spurring me on to more in my own walk.

Hey Mamma Beth!
It's Sat. afternoon and I just now had time to catch up with you! Glad your pups are bringing you such joy and delight. God is like that, isn't He....brings delight in the big and the little things.
I have been with my daughter since last night with 5 nine year olds at a swimming, spend the night party. Needless to say, I caught a few winks but not enough. On my way home , stopped by the good old Wally Mart and picked up the last of my small "travel" items to put in that little zip lock bag for our flight(Praise Jesus) to San An.
Praying for you, the praise team and all those beautiful women coming to join as one, praising Him.
Can't wait!
love you!
Beth,
I am so glad you stopped by to sit a spell and tell us the lastest with the Moore family.
I would love to chat back and forth with you. You are our my Siesta Mama, and my mentor. There is just not enough hours in the day to meet with us individually. It was a blessing that you had time to stop by at all.
Sounds like you all are having a blast with the puppies. We are dog lovers too, so I understand the joy you have just watching Geli and Star play together.
Love ya, sister.
Just a few more days until San Antonio. Looking forward to what the Lord has in store for each of us.
Hugs,
Mary
Sweet Beth,
Would you consider putting that study online?!?!?!?! You already have all the material written out....just post the scripture verses and questions online so we can all see it! (Probably easier said than done, I know!) I would love to teach or at least moderate this study for our small group of ladies here. It's just the thing to start off our new women's ministry at our church!!
Head pats to the puppies and tummy rubs to the little lemon!
Love lovin' the Lord with you!!

As I was reading a book to my two year old this morning called, "I Knew You Could", which is very similar to "The Little Engine That Could", on one of the pages while the engine is taking his journey, it talks about allowing ourselves to go through the dark tunnel and know that we will make it through because the track that we take in must also go out, and then we will see the light. I just imagine myself as the engine and Jesus as the conductor.... and at the end of my destination for Him, He says, "I Knew You Could!". For all that you do for Him, Beth, He is so proud and is in Awe of your love for Him. Your deadlines are stressful, but You stay within the tunnel aiming for His Light and oh, how He loves You for allowing Him to speak through you in your studies, conferences, and your every day life. I look forward to seeing you on this coming Saturday. I'll be in the Deaf section reading your precious lips - sharing the Word of God!
See you on Saturday, Siesta Mama!
I so much want to be at the Siesta Fiesta...I'm just sick that I can't be there. I will be praying for all of you that are able to go...I hope God blesses all of your socks off!
I'm praying that God will lead y'all to publish the class you will be teaching this semester. It sounds great...something we could all benefit from (I guess I should speak for myself - heehee).
So glad you and Keith are in love with your lil puppies - they look precious.
Praying for all of the team as next weekend approaches.
I'll miss meeting everyone...hopefully there will be another fiesta next year. Hugs to all my siestas!!
Sheri
I have no idea what the blog for today is about but I have to tell you something very important, Beth, so please forgive me if this is off topic, but I don't know how else to fellowship with you.
Let me start at the beginning. I’ve recently, by the world’s standards, been victim of great financial hardship. I lost my home and am now living with my best friend and her family. Let me paint the picture for yall…My best friend, her mom, her sister, the sister’s two daughters and the oldest daughter has a one year old son, welcomed penniless me into their home with open arms. Can anyone else (besides me) see God in this? I rededicated my life to God this past November privately. It’s all out in the open now of course…ok?
I moved in with all of them right after my sons 8th birthday, which I spent packing. His birthday was August 1st, by the way. I started “Believing God” that Monday night when I finally got all settled in. Today, I finished it! Wait can that be right? just two weeks? God is Awesome! I’m dyslexic, yall…I don’t read fast.
I want to share my last “Faith Journal” entry, if You will.
"God has all this time [the past two weeks] given to me many of the same sentiments that you, Beth, have shared but right before I got to those sections where you expressed them …almost word for word what He had just impressed on me. All throughout this study He has confirmed the truths of this lesson in me from every angle of my life. I praise His name for the blessing of you & this study. Thank you for being a faithful verb."
Just had to share…hope yall don’t mind. Oh, and if anyone wants to fellowship back… my personal email is lorettaguthrie@gmail.com
Prayerfully following the Great I am!
Your puppies sound so precious!
You know, I praise God that he uses just normal people for His work. God has gifted and inspired you so much, and your teaching and influence reaches so far, yet you are still experiencing life like the rest of us. Just "normal" whatever normal is!!!
I'm anticipating what God will do in San Antonio! See you there!
Karen
Dear Beth,
It's good to know you are getting some rest. I'm not much of a dog person (my husband is though) but yours are really cute.
I wanted to let the sister who is asking about 'empty nest' syndrome to know I will be praying for her. As women, we put so much of ourselves into our children that sometimes we don't really know who we are when they are gone.
My advice- get a new hobby or reach out to someone on a regular basis. My baby boy heads off to college in 1 week and my daughter just got married last month. We emptied out in a hurry!
I am excited to say that at my new school (I'm a school nurse) the young (I am old) art teacher asked me to join her for -get this- ROLLER DERBY!! I went and had the BEST TIME, even though I was the only one there without any tatoos or colored (or should I say brightly multicolored) hair and piercings besides on my ears. But these wonderful people really encouraged me to 'give it my all' on the skate floor. (I used to spend alot of time at the roller rink as a kid back in the day.
I'm just asking the Lord to help me have fun and show kiddos there that they are loved with an everlasting love!
(And am praying for no broken bones)
NURSE PAT
Thanks for the updates! I enjoyed the simulcast (Louisville) so much, and God is using that, as well as other things going on right now, to draw me closer to Him.
I am praying for you and have signed up to be a LPM prayer warrior. I'm still waiting for a prayer calendar.
I am praying for God to give me that insatiable desire for Him and His Word. I long to long for Him more than for my next breath.
God bless you!
Sara,
I am praying for you too...God has a wonderful plan for you and that precious baby... please listen to what He is saying to you!God is very real and He loves you unconditionally! Open your heart and let Him in!
Martha
After attending the Esther Study, I am looking forward to the finished workbook.
My NOGS group will begin Living Beyond Yourself this fall, we will meet in my home and listen to the audio. I am not quite sure what we will do when it comes to signing the Fruit of the Spirit, we're Texans maybe we'll cheer.
I lift you, your staff, and all the Siestas attending the Siesta Fiesta up in prayer.
Awesome updates! I've run across a few people who think the Bible is just a book. I'm glad you'll be teaching about the miracle of God's Holy Word and how it came to be. That is one MUCH needed teaching tool in today's cynical, "religious" society. I am so glad my Christian upbringing grounded me so in God's Word. As I grew into adulthood and started questioning my faith...I came to a point where I had to first of all believe that the BIBLE was HOLY. Not just because my parents believed or my church believed...I had to believe it for myself. It is God-breathed and a gift that I am so thankful that my Hebrew brothers gave me. And later my Christian brothers birthed the gospels. All of them empowered by God's Holy Ghost.
What you are doing is an awesome undertaking.
A prayer:
Father in heaven, all of us here encircle our dear sister Beth and her team as they reach out to those in darkness, illuminating Your Word as Truth to those who are willing to seek You. Oh how I pray that You will send hearts ready and receptive. Open each mind with Your spirit of wisdom and knowledge and pour out an understanding that will take their breath away! We pray that You would be the Fire...the Consuming Fire...that burns in the hearts of Christians. Light their hearts and all of our hearts to share TRUTH for Your praise and glory and honor. IN Jesus Name. Amen.
Love love love the puppies!!! I had a Basset Hound who was the cutest, sweetest thing in the whole world, but was not blessed in the intelligence department. Her floppy ears and droopy eyes made up for it, though.
Can't wait to meet you in San Antonio at the Siesta Fiesta! I can't believe it's finally here! It feels like I've been waiting FOREVER for it to get here!
Great, joyful update.
We're all believing God for something big.
Thanks!
Dear Sara,
I've walked in your shoes.
and for the last twenty years I've wished I cancelled that appointment. Every February 1st, which was my due date, I have a silent birthday party in my heart for that baby I denied.
Today I had tears of joy reading your words about being 'messed up' by what you stumbled across on the tv that day. :) I know that feeling.
You are so loved, dear friend!
and like Roxanne said so well, Your baby is no accident, but an answer to prayer. Your Heavenly Father formed him/her in your womb. If not for your arms, for that of another mommy whose arms are empty and she has been praying for this very child.
I'm praying for you my friend.
Put your trust in Him through Jesus... I promise, He will never let you down! Trust in Him, and He will work out the details for you. He'll carry you through anything you think you can't do.
I'm proud of you for listening to your heart, and not your mind, sweet friend. and I'm praying His undeniable blessings on you.
much love,
your sister in Georgia
Oh I would LOVE to take the Bible intro course! I adore reading the Bible and learning much in the various Bible studies but I need to take a course on how to study the Bible. I have been praying lately that God will give me the knowledge and wisdom to gain more understanding from His precious word. You have said numerous times to ask for the things that you lack when you pray~ I lack wisdom and understanding.
Beth you have helped me so much through the many Bible studies. Thank-you for serving God and sharing with everyone the knowledge that God has richly given you! Blessings and I will see you in San Antonio~! jan floyd
Sara,
I know that you are having a hard time believing in God right now, but He brought you here. He "messed you up", and He did it for a reason. Your baby is alive. I want you to know that first. God has such an amazing love for you and for your baby. AND He has a plan for you both.
I cannot pretend to know what you are going through. If you feel that you cannot be a mom at this point in your life, may I ask that you PLEASE consider an adoption plan for your precious child. I KNOW - beyond a shadow of a doubt - that there is someone out there who will love your baby. I have two beautiful girls because two someones in your shoes chose to have the baby. Two little girls that make my life so much sweeter. Not to mention the friend that I have found in my little one's birthmom.
Please consider all of the options - and listen to your heart. That voice that has been stopping you is Him -He loves you so very much and wants to show you what He can give you and do for you. LET HIM LOVE YOU!!!!
And, Sara, let US love you!!!
We do, ya know.
Becky Jo
PS - you are not the first woman that He used Beth to "Mess up" - we have all been there at least once!
Beth, You make me feel so loved and you don't even know me!!! Those puppies must be in heaven living with you!!! I thoroughly enjoyed the summer bible study! I am praying for that fire as a young mother and wife! Lord use me!! Praying for you. Please pray for me.
Dear Beth,
I am so glad that you are getting a bit of a respite here after getting Esther out! I will be continuing to pray for you!
You are getting a "snail mail" letter from me soon... i just have to get it in the mail on monday, but wanted you to know here... this week has been a horrible one for me... the enemy really working me over. what brought me through was remembering your idea of the scripture cards, and grabbing mine and focusing on the first 2 that I had written down weeks ago..
Eph 3:16-21 and Phil 1:9-10... both about God's love and ours... doing everything thing for the praise of His glory.
Between focusing on that and listening to a couple of your online studies on Romans, God completely refocused my mind in an amazing way.
He is so good!!
I am so thankful, grateful for your ministry, and how God works through you. It amazes me everytime He grabs a teaching I have heard a truth from somewhere that I have read, and brings it to my mind at the perfect time... reminds me to hide it in my heart...
God bless you!
Heather
Beth, You make me feel so loved and you don't even know me!!! Those puppies must be in heaven living with you!!! I thoroughly enjoyed the summer bible study! I am praying for that fire as a young mother and wife! Lord use me!! Praying for you. Please pray for me.
Beth,
Thank you so much for taking the time to catch us up on you. We love you and we enjoy knowing what's new with your dear family.
I haven't left a comment in a long time but I'm still reading the blog regularly.
May the Lord continue to bless your family HUGE!
Jaime
Praise the Lord and I pray for the small group you're preparing to minister to personally.

Hey Beth! I don't comment much and you don't have to comment on this. I was just wondering if you still had it. A few years back (well maybe about 5 now when i was a newlywed) I send you my testimony and a tree print of my dad's framed for you. I want you to know the personal note that you left me truely touched my life. I have any amazing husband and am so blessed but that was during a rough patch that first year and your words you wrote back to me in the personal letter you sent me truly helped me. I hope you are enjoying your print. (please don't publish this) just thought i would tell you how God used you so many years ago in my life
What a great blog. I love reading it and just imagining how many lives God touches through you. My husband and I (yes, that is right, and he loves you and his initial reaction, so the man was: "Wow, she is pretty!) are doing Daniel and love it. It's my second time. Praying for you and the family and next week.
And sweet Sara, I am praying for you and that baby. For you to see God's hand in this, He loves you so much.
I rarely if ever comment, but I have to tell you that I check this blog often and receive mountains of encouragement and usually a much needed dose of laughter!! Thank you for being my "Mama"! I love you and your girls like family.
Excited about your new puppies! I know its incredibly hard to lose an old friend, but news ones ease that pain.
Praying for the San Antonio meet. Try not to stress. Your too blessed =)
Praying also for the lil' lemon.
Hi Sara,
It's me again. I just got home from Lakewood Church a while ago and just prayed for you and over you all night long while we were singing praises to God. The music is pretty loud in there so I could really cry out on your behalf. :)
I just want to encourage you to keep listening to that still, small voice inside your head and heart. That is the voice of God speaking to you. Yes, the very voice of God. You were designed like that by the Creator of this universe. Just like your baby is fearfully and wonderfully made, so are you, sweet Sara.
I pray you get back on this blog and see that there are many who truly care. I have asked the Lord to put Godly mentors in your path to help you. You do not have to walk this path alone. God is with you and He will guide you if you allow Him to.
God bless you, dear Sara. And God bless that precious life that is living inside of you.
Marvelous are His works.
Much love,
Roxanne
Please
Sara,
I am so glad you posted that message to Beth. I don't know you but I want you to know I am praying for you and I love you. Please know there is power in the name of Jesus and He has saved me and changed me. He has changed me completly and made me new. Please hang in there and know that there are ladies all around the world that really do care for you and we love you. Just remember there is no condemnation for those that are in Christ. He makes us free.
That baby is a miracle believe me, I have been trying for over 12 years to conceive. I am Trusting and Believing God and I hope you will accept the free gift of salvation in Christ Jesus.
Love,
Lori
P.S. Please write again.
Beth in my life you have worked hard ALL DAY-- I just finished about 6 hours of watching the "Who Will You Trust" DVD set... I just wanted to spend the day learning about trusting God.
I thank you for all your inspirational words. I am trusting God more!
Hope you get some well-deserved rest and relaxation!
So good to hear from you. :)The puppies sound adorable, and so much fun. And the class sounds great too! Will be praying for y'all this weekend.
Just saw on the news where there was a tornado in Houston today. Pray all is well!!! Just a few more days!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey...Patti is not the only one under attach, it seems like Satan is hard at work. I have over a 20 hour drive, sitting on a BROKEN TAILBONE. We are talkin' a REAL "pain in the butt". God must really have something HUGE planned for SA. We are victorious!!!
Sara,
I simply have to give you a hug through this computer. I was 18 when I had my first child. I knew nothing about being a mother. My father was in prison when I was born and the state removed me from the care of my mother when I was four. I was living on my own by 17. When I was 18 I decided to read the dictionary (a miracle by all accounts b/c that wasn't something I'd normally do.) I started in the A's and soon came across the word angel. The definition caught my attention. What if they were real? What if there REALLY was a God?! I decided to read the Bible for myself. I didn't own one but I went and got one. For the first time it made sense to me. The simplicity of it all was made plain to me. God came into my life like a flood. At that time I found out I was pregnant. Any other time I would have aborted b/c I was always taught that abortion was the RIGHT thing to do (ecspecially for someone in my situation). Because of what God was doing in my life and heart I realized that was lie and decided to have the baby. I am so glad I did!!! God took the nothing that I had and began to weave His power and grace into our lives. He took a pile of ashes and made something beautiful. We now have six children and they are my pride and joy. Come check out my blog to see what God has done. There are pictures of my babies who are now 4,6,8,10, 12 and 14.
Love you girl.
Praying for you,
Kara
I like your new haircut! Glad some of the stress is off! The puppies sound adorable and fun. We're leaving later today for San Antonio, see you there!
AMEN to Twinkle's prayer...
You are so much fun! Thank you for sharing! This summer I have committed myself to waking early and reading my Bible everyday. There will be verses that I have read many times before, only now I will stop and read them over and over again, letting it seep into my soul. I am amazed at how many times I have wept and wondered how I'd "missed it" all the other times I've read His Word. After a summer of bible study alone, my heart is in dire need for a study with some good 'ol God Fearing Women! There is an indepth Bible study starting this week at my church, called the Amazing Collection. I want to go so bad, but have only found a nursery for the first two weeks of the study. A friend of mine told me to just come and have faith that God will work it out. Why is that so hard to do sometimes? She always says "Does it require more power than raising a dead Jesus?" I laugh and say of course not. So here I go, jumping on the Faith Train because this homeschooling-mama-of-three-soul needs some seista time in the Word!
Dearest Sara,
I am praying for you and the baby and whatever situation you are in. Babies are a gift from God and should be cherished every moment. God will help you every step of they way, if you will just believe in Him. I pray that you will believe and know that your are where you are in life for a reason. God Bless you and that precious baby.
I just have to say, Oh, me too, Beth, me too when you say this "God completely changed my life with the study of His Word. I want every person on earth - particularly every woman I encounter - to know the transforming power of Christ and the Truth that sets the most hopeless captive free. It was the turning point for me." And I love when we begin to see for ourselves how much He wants to show us and He encourages us to grow in His Truth. Thank you for having the resources available to make this kind of spiritual growth happen for us. I am always asking my bible study girls if they are as amazed as I am at all the resources we have available to study God's word. God knew our generation would be hungry for His word-with an insatiable hunger only He can fill. It sounds like God is working some big details through your small class and will show off as only He can do! SO looking forward to next weekend!
Love, Amy in OK
Dear Siesta Mama,
Thank you for taking time to catch up with us and shoot the breeze...not to mention on a Friday night during the Olympics! You are one of our favorite gals on earth too!
I praise the Lord for giving you the 2 joyous gifts in Star and Geli. What fun they seem to be! I know my dog Buddy would love to have a playdate with them! Though I know you still miss your Beanie girl, I can imagine that they are humorous distractions!
I am so excited to hear about the LIT class that you, Curtis, and Melissa will be teaching this fall. What an incredible opportunity that will surely change lives! I will be praying to that end.
Praying also for this upcoming LPL weekend in San Antonio. May the Lord richly bless you in your preparations this week. In turn, He will richly bless us!
We love you to pieces and are so thankful for our Siesta Mama!
Much love,
Tara
PS. Praise the Lord that Amanda's little lemon is growing and that she is feeling better! I was terribly sick during my first trimester, so I feel her pain! But the blessings in the end are completely worth it!
I can't wait for next weekend! I am so excited about San Antonio!
I laughed about the puppies. My husband and I were surprised by the pregnancy of our golden retriever this spring. (Our male was seven months old and we thought he could not physically, "do the deed" ) But to our amazement it happened. Bailey ended up having to healthy puppies. They were hard work to care for but I loved them anyway!!May God continue to bless you and the ministry he is using you in to expand his kingdom!!
Dear Beth, The Lord has so blessed me---or I should say us---through your teachings and books, Bible Studies,CD's and DVD'd I have had blessing after blessing and miracles, A family healing (which He is still working on) after seven years of estrangement (!) and that only the Lord could have made happen and NOT through me---except a new way of praying (thanks to you), which He began with a phone call from a family member--which I did not expect---ever and never---who is not even a believer and is married to a morman-----this was a blessing and miracle and answered prayer because of what I have learned from you by changing how I pray and think and----- CONSIDERING what His will might be, not mine. Because of "Praying God's Word" style, we have a new believer in the family, who is the same person's daughter who made the phone call (!)--- a new believer at work and some awestruck believers who want to "read what I have read". I have a sister-in-law who is now a believer and was raised as a Catholic, and wants to read every book of your's that I have read and in that same order (!)(I sent them to her). My husband and I are walking around on our knees everyday in gratitude, awe, shock and thanksgiving to the Lord, and everyday there is something new from His Word for us that just blows us away. Thank you Beth, for obeying God!!! I have already begun to pray that the Lord would make it possible to make your "Lit" Bible study available to us---of course, if it is His will, I mean, that is. I would so humbly soak in every word of it. We need to go back to the beginning of a study life and get the basics as you have described in your blog. I know it would enhance everything we have already learned and will continue to learn. If the Lord leads you to share it with us, I am your first customer! I would be so humbled and blessed and I have a lot of people to share it with, too. I am sorry that this is so long. This is just the tip of the iceberg, if I told you everything, it would probably be a hundred page letter. Thank you, Beth, thank you, thank you. Thank you Lord for Beth and please keep blessing her and gifting her and blessing us. P.S. Beth, every time I would read one of your books I would say to my husband, "this one is my favorite". Each one, though, has had it's perfect place and timing. I love to print those precious scriptures up on the e-bible (along, also with my 3x5 cards, yes) and place them in a three ringed binder for review. I work long hours and need to do it this way.
Sara
I have been in prayer for you since I read your post yesterday.
Please open you heart and listen what God has to say.
I can promise from one who trully knows. Abortion is not the answer but God is.
Please listen to him.
I love these "checking ins" that you do....makes us feel like we're all friends! Just catching up!
Thanks for everything, siesta mama!
You make me love Jesus more!
My Dearest friend,
I have been believing Him on a journey of faith that , if you knew my story, honestly, would make you cry. This weekend I have been trying to get through your blog and be able to respond, but I would get one point read, and then get interrupted. In the meantime, I have been believing and therefore speaking faith over situations that are way beyond anything I've ever thought of experiencing with Him. ( Yes, He is able to do exceedingly above all you can ask or think. He also grabs you and takes you with Him so that you are hanging on to Him for your very life!) When I thought originally of amazing things He could do, even in my wildest imaginations, (or vain ones,, for that matter) I was still on "safe" ground so to speak. Not any more. No one told me it would be terrifying! It's like getting on a roller coaster ride that you can't see, but have only heard about. Other people have been on the ride, and lived to tell about it, and that is what makes you sign up. People like Amy Carmichael, and George Mueller and John Wycliffe, etc. Jesus Himself says, "I'm driving, just get in!" I got on...I'm enjoying the ride in a screaming sort of sense. I believe it is the best ride I have ever been on, but I can't describe how terrifying and exhilirating it is all at once. I so needed someone to say that my faith will be sight. He will come through for me, and I will see HUGE things in my day. I keep searching for the ancient paths, and they all seem to come up completely faith based. Believing Him! The word I needed, was the one you put at the end of this blog: Believe Him for Huge Things! Thank you. Continuing to Believe Him and when I have done everything to stand, STAND! I love you. Now I know why God had me wait till today (Sunday) to finally comment on your blog. As usual, He knew I would need it now.
Lisa in Kirkland, WA
Sara,
I read your post after sending my post. I have not been in your situation, but I do know that the Lord has great plans for His children - you and your child and ALL the children He has created! He loves YOU very much regardless what you have done in the past! He knows what you have been through, going through and will be going through. In the Bible, He says in Psalms Chapter 62:verse 8 (which is right in the middle of the Bible if you have one to look at). "Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge." He made it possible for you to see Beth M. on Life Today because He wants you to call out to Him, and let Him help you with your precious one, and help you as well. All the women that have read your post love you,and we will be lifting you up in prayer.
Love,
Lea
Dear Beth,
I was at church this morning and I have something on my heart. I suddenly felt that I was putting you on more of a pedestal then I was putting God and His word. Someone said they were so excited to come meet you in San Antonia to meet you and I said I will meet her in Billings. Then they said I did her online class and I said I did her online class alone. OH MY GOSH. How petty for me? I know Mama Beth that you would not want me to put you on a pedestal but yes I do have you on my Treasure Map and the list of the 30 people I want to meet someday. I know you would want me to be a child of God and put the Word first. I am praying Lord help me to stop feeling so invisible and be real to all you you on this blog and Mama Beth. I love you all.

I have not had a chance to read the blogs lately and can I just say how much I love getting caught up. The puppies are completely adorable... we are getting ready to purchase new puppies ourselves and my 15 year old daughter wants a Beagle and had decided that the name Jelly is it! Inspired by you.... although she thinks Jelly like grape jelly.....
I love getting caught up on the Moore family it's part of why we all feel so connected to you, because you are real and share real life with us. Thank you for letting us all feel like we have a front row ticket to the Moore family!
I am so excited for the Esther study I can hardly wait. If we haven't said it enough THANK YOU BETH for all your very hard work and everything that goes with that..
Mary
Praying for you! Can't wait for a Word in San Antonio! I knew He will give you just what we need to hear! (He always does!)
I am leading "Stepping Up" this fall. We Raleigh girls are so excited about doing "OUR" study!
Aren't puppies such a precious gift from the Lord? I know they are not as precious as people, but they sure are fun! My cocker spaniel Gumbo is 11 years old now, and still my baby. (I call him Gummy Bear a lot).
Siestas please pray for us that are going to San Antonio! I know the Lord is up to something big because of the spritual warfare going on in the lives of many of us. But fighting the enemy is hard work! Thanks!
Much love!
Kristi B.
You folks might as well give up "thinking about doing more" with intro class and just plan on doing more.
The first time I saw the announcement I had two thoughts. The first was "I wonder if I could talk my husband into letting me go to Houston once a week for ten weeks."
The second was, "no, it will be in print soon enough."
So, God has it finished-and I will wait until ya'll catch up!
This morning I needed to worship God. I felt cleansed in the sanctuary. God's Word is transforming. All that had been on my mind this week causing all kinds of chaos seemed like it had been lifted. I need worship & fellowship. The challenges of life can weigh you down. Enjoy hearing others share how God's Word has transformed their lives!
Dear Sara
We siestas want you to know, even though we don't know you either, that we love you with the love of our father Jesus Christ. You and your unborn child are so special! (not only to us but to our Lord Jesus as well!) We will be praying for you and please feel free to get on this site anytime and blog with us! I would be glad to "talk" with you personally as well. My e-mail address is kristib1116@gmail.com.
Much love!
Kristi B.
Beth, I feel like I just got up off the chair from your living room after a fun visit. Thanks for the update. I prayed for you today in church. You are such a wonderful sister in the Lord. Thank you for all you do!
In Him,
Nancy
The fall Bible Study sounds very interesting. I hope it does become a DVD study. Our women's group would definitely do it. We are looking forward to starting the Esther study in January and will be doing Priscilla Shirer's study "Can We Talk" in September.
I am glad Amanda is feeling better. I had bad morning sickness up until about 20 weeks with both children and that is no fun. I also had my appendix out with the first one. Such fun memories.
Blessings,
April
I found my e-mail telling about the arm band in lieu of ticket.
Thanks!
My dog really dislikes wearing any type of clothing, and it's a shame, because she would look really cute in a dress (tee hee). I tried to get her to wear a sweater when it was really cold outside, and she HATED it! When I took the sweater off of her, she attacked it! (I have to admit that it was smack darn hilarious.)
I can't wait for this coming weekend!!!! Yahoo-JAH!
Thanks for taking time to fill us in on what's going on in your life.
I was cracking up on your last video when Star was wanting your attention.
My daughter and I are SO excited about the San Antonio trip this week. We'll be there Thurs. - Sun. and just can't wait.
Thanks for all you do. The Bible study for the young people sounds awesome. I can't wait for Esther!
See you in a few days.
Love,
Valerie
Sara,
I just had a friend let me know about your post on Beth's blog. I know that it would be a miracle for you to come back to the blog and read through the many comments that are here to find this comment but is seems to me that GOD HAS A MIRACLE GOING ON WITH YOU so I am just going to go with my gut on this.
I want to hep you.
Please email me at www.patlayton@mac.com
I promise if you will, that God will show Himself to you by sending someone with skin on to help you.
You are not alone as you can see by all of the wonderful women who are praying for you.
God loves you and you baby and you can do this!!
I will be praying and waiting to get your email.
Pat
I feel so loved everytime I come here to catch up. What a God gift to be able to open up your heart to us here on this blog. You make me feel like I could just walk into your house and take a seat on the sofa and just start catching up with what is going on in our lives. Thank you Beth for loving on us!!

My too male poodles had a knock down drag out fight tonight and I got bite on the thumb trying to break them apart( note to self do not stick your hand in between to fighting dogs) I miss the puppy stage.
God Bless ! Love ya'll Susan
Siesta Mama "B",
My church group called LAMBS (Love And Ministry Between Sistas) just started "Wising Up" last week. I coordinate two classes, Monday night and Tuesday Morning. We have a total of 100 Sistas! This is my 11th study to oversee at my church. Well, our girls are so accustom to "Heartwork" that several of them encouraged me to write....so this little ole' Ga Peach has been busy!!! In session 1 you mention how you loved GOD'S word, and I do to or at least I thought I did, until this week..I have been at my computer for hours and I LOVE EVERY MINUTE!!!The LORD has place a burning passion inside of me...I just can't wait to see what HE does. I've written "Heartwork" for session 1 and 2. I will give to the ladies on a weekly bases. Will you pray for me? I know I'm not good enough to mess GOD up, I just want to make HIM and you proud! I Love and deeply admire you!
It's all GOOD in the Siesta-Hood!
Siesta Staci
Oh, please consider sharing Bible study methods with us on this blog or consider publishing your study. I'm sure many really need guidance in this area--I know I do.
I cannot believe how you've found time to train your puppy PLUS do all the things you do. I would love to read your tips for training puppies--especially how to house-train them!
Oh, what great stuff you have planned. LOVE the tag team idea too...I have always wanted to teach a class like that...soon, very soon. The books of the bible song took me waaaaaayyyy back ... made me smile thinking about it...how fun!
I love you all so much and I think you are doing a fabulous job. Keeping you in prayer. And of course praying for San Antonio huuuulllllooo. ;)
Beth:
Thanks for the update. I am glad that you have been getting some r and r. From all that has been going on it sound like you needed it. You are not alone in the tough summer thing. Myself and several of my friends have really been struggling this summer. Nothing bad happen (at least for me anyway), just feeling rather dry and flat. We all homeschool and well most of us are just starting to feel like we are even getting close to being ready. Not good since school starts this week or next for most of us. I and 2 of us are coming to S.A. and we are in serious need of some fellowship and spiritual refreshment.
I would be grateful if all would pray for me and my travels to S.A. You know good weather and safety and all. I have to connect in Dallas so need I say more about the weather issues.
Thanks Kim B. in AZ
P.S. You new babies (puppies) are absolutely adorable.
Those pups are too adorable. What joy they must bring to you and your staff. What a blessing it is to be able to have her there with you all at the office.
Your new study "Lit" sounds AWESOME!! I wish I could join you all in it.
I am so happy to hear that Esther is almost available for us, yeah!! My Women's bible study group will be going through your "Beloved Disciple" study while we wait for "Esther".
I am looking forward to seeing you here in Vegas next month. I cannot wait!!
Thank you for always sharing something with us. I just love you and your sweet family.
Have a wonderful week :)
Beth, I am so happy for you and Keith with your new "little ones." I am also very excited about Esther. I can't wait until it hits the shelves!!! I am glad some of the stress of all that is involved in a writing and publishing a Bible study is letting up on you. What a fantastic idea about the Bible study - I so wish I could be apart of it. I will be praying over your class and for you, Curtis, and Melissa. I pray that all of your love for the word of God will be so contagious people can't help but catch it, whether they want to or not. His Word is Life!!! I love you. Thank you for sharing life with all of us;)
