Wedding Week - Installment 1

Two things. One, the suit Jackson is wearing this weekend arrived on my doorstep today. Oh my word, it is out of control cute. He hasn't tried it on yet but I know I will not be able to take my eyes off either one of my men that night!

Two, my mom needed to have a really effective workday today, so I have tried not to call her all day. We just spoke and I was given a very juicy piece of information. Right now she and my dad and sister are on their way to have private dance lessons. Dance lessons. Wow. I am so tickled about this. If only I could be a fly on the wall in that room tonight! Mom said she wished Curt and I could be there, but I assured her that it would be the quickest way to send us into couples therapy. (There's a reason we didn't have a dance at our wedding reception.)

Mom wanted you all to know that she would not be needing lessons if they were going to dance to 80's aerobic music. Man, that was selfish of Melissa not to pick any songs that my mom could make a routine to! There's just no end to the abuse of the Mother of the Bride!

I think little boys in suits are the cutest. As well as, a beautiful flower girl. My daughter has been a flower girl three times. She was just adorable. Hope the dance lessons go well.

What kind of lessons - the tango? The waltz? I'm sure you all know how to line dance! Yes, from one who came of age in the '80's, I concur with you, Amanda, it's too bad you can't all be assured of some right regular disco on Melissa's big night. Oh well.

Have fun getting ready for Saturday!

This is SOOOO Exciting!!! I wish we all could be flies on the wall. What a hoot! You guys are all so wonderful. Please know that there are myriads of prayers going up for your whole family. Thank you, SO MUCH, for sharing this special occasion with us!! And, Beth, talk about sending us all for a new pack of mascara. PUH-LEEZ!!! I about bawled my eyes out after reading your precious dedication to Melissa. There's no doubt that mascara sales went up around the globe. What a precious, precious family.

Oh, of course, I can't wait to see Little Man in his duds. Yay!! What a treat that will be. ;-)

You are so loved!!

Amanda,
I have a picture that sits on my desk of my oldest son when he was 5 wearing a tux, hair slicked back and he is escorting the flower girl who loved him. The look on his face is priceless. He wanted nothing to do with a girl. LOL! He was the ringbearer in my friend's wedding! Little boys in their suits are just to much!! Love it!!
Your mom cracked me up on the 80's music. I am with her on that since that was my time! LOL!! I bet this will be fun and there will be a story to tell.

First of all, your mom's letter to Melissa was priceless. Brought me to tears and I have 2 boys that are 7 and 9. Not anywhere close to experiencing the "mother of the bride" thing. It was just amazing.

Second, it would be a lot of fun if you posted about how Curt proposed and maybe some pics of your wedding since the blog was not in existence back then and all of us in blogland didn't get to "ooh" and "ahh" all over you (although I am sure you got plenty of that).

Thirdly, there is absolutely nothing in the whole world that will make you clap your hands and jump around and squeal than when your little guy is all gussied up for an occasion.

My husband and I had a little getaway to The Houstonian this last weekend and we saw a bride and groom checking in and I said, "Oh my goodness, Melissa gets married a week from today!". Needless to say, my husband was very confused, then somewhat tickled that I am so dedicated to this blog.

Can't wait to see pictures of the big day!!

While little boys in suits are too sweet for words....they are also VERY nerve-wracking. My little man had to wear a white tux in his cousin's wedding just before he turned 3!!! Are you kidding me? I was even afraid to put him in his car seat...who knew what stains are embedded there!?! I basically had a beach towel wrapped around him at all times till the wedding was over! I will pray that you can keep him quiet during the wedding...no easy task. May I recommend a back-pack on your seat b-4 the wedding begins with snacks (CHEWY!) and quiet games/magnadoodle, etc.

Enjoy this week and, AGAIN, thank you SOOO much for sharing!

Love,

While still in college and dating, my then significant other (now Hubby) and I took ballroom dancing as a PE credit. We came so very close to ending our relationship over that course. How excited I am for Melissa and Colin. Beth's dedication was so moving. How precious that will be in years to come. I know the Lord will bless this union. This May will be 15 years since I walked down the aisle and married my man. Yes, what Beth said is right. Marriage can be tough. The road can be rocky, and then it smooths out and then it is rockier than before. But it is worth the bumps in the road to work through the problems. Even as I write this my man and I are on the rocky road. But I know we will work it out. And please, tell Melissa, "Welcome to Georgia", the home of southern hospitality. I hope she loves living here as much as I do. Of course , I am an original Georgia Peach, so yes, I am partial. Can't wait to see pictures and yes, please post some pics. from your and Curts wedding.

I pray God's blessing on all of you, especially during this very busy time.

Signed,

Lovin' God

Jackson will look so adorable in his suit! I loved seeing my oldest son in his when he was a ring bearer. And dance lessons (what, no 80's aerobics routines?). Actually, I love to dance but would need lessons for the more formal couples' dances (I tend to lead and step on toes). I know this week will fly by before you know it! Congratulations again Melissa! You all are so hilarious and I totally can see Beth dancing to
80's music. I cracked up just thinking about yall dancing to the thrillers song.

I cried Beth when reading your letter to Melissa. I pray that when my special days come that my parents will know Christ and bless my marriage.I have never had sex or even kissed a guy or had a boyfriend at this point for many reasons. 1. Because I want to be in love with God and I want to seek God for mythat special someone 2. I don't even want to kiss because I think that it would be a special moment for everyone (family isn't believers) and that my husband would appreciate that not only have I never had sex but I saved my first kiss for him. 3. I know that if I do kiss if I get a boyfriend I will want more. I don't even want to test those waters. That is the only pure thing I have about me that I can share intimately with Christ. I am nothing but addiction, bitterness, resentment, fears and the list could go on.

Back to the letter. My parents think there is something wrong with me because of my relationship with Christ and my goal. (I am narrow minded my dad says) I say you bettcha! Christ is the only way I am going. I won't settle for less. I hope that I can have that kind of blessing from them by the time my wedding comes. That is something to cherish.

Everyone enjoy this fun time! Please catch with your video cameras if 80's music is playing!

Suddenly right before he was supposed to walk down the aisle... he had that look... you know the one...where your are concentrating on your "business"...

Let's just say I am glad I had the foresight to put him in a pull-up and as soon as he walked down the aisle we went and changed it LOL!!

I pray that you all have a blessed day! I would love to be a fly on the wall for the wedding! Did the semi truck full of Kleenex arrive yet!

I was expecting things to be pretty quiet on the blog front this week, so thanks for Installment 1.

I have precious memories of the week of my firstborn's Friday night wedding. Our son was married on May 4th, and realizing that he would be on his honeymoon on Mother's Day, in the midst of his excitement, he, my husband and our youngest son shopped for my gift- a real rose dipped in 24kt gold. It is the most beautiful gift I've ever received.

Enjoy every moment of this week, and know that your family will be covered in prayer.

I'm so excited for ya'll! I'm sure Melissa is counting the hours! My sister-in-law is getting married for the first time on March 8th (she is 38). We are ALL in the wedding - my husband, myself, and our two daughters (12 and 9). The newlyweds will be living in Atlanta as well. Lots of great churches there.

I will be praying that all goes well - especially with the dance lessons.

LOVED the letter your mom wrote to Melissa - VERY touching!

I'm going to echo the siesta that suggested you put some of your wedding photos on the blog - would love to see them.

Blessings!

Make sure you know how to do the Macarena! My husband (the music minister at our church) and I (the pianist) and our pastor and his wife nearly set the town tongues afire when we almost signed up for dance lessons. (alas, my hubby and I found out we are expecting so out went the dancing!) I would love to be a fly on the wall at these dance lessons!

Congratulations on the upcoming big day!

I'm with y'all on this - how absolutely PERFECT to be going for dance lessons - to be giving Melissa a hard time for not leaving an aerobic format for Beth to follow - and the letter; Oh, that letter from mother to daughter - was that awesome or what?? I nearly had to be picked up off the floor with the heart-wrenching, beautiful words written in Melissa's honor. Something tells me Beth has one written for Amanda somewhere, too.

As the mother of 7 daughters myself, I can appreciate the emotional gears set in motion behind Beth's tremendous love in that letter. I pray my own daughters will rise up one day and call me "blessed" to the glory of God the Father. I'm more than confident that Beth can rest assured "her children arise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her." ~Proverbs 31:28~

It just occurred to me -- only SIESTAS would be blogging about an upcoming wedding! Wouldn't it be a hoot if Beth, Amanda & Melissa's guys posted blog entires of their own about THEIR preparations for the big day this coming Saturday? I'd sure like to read those!

Love it, just love it!! Nothing like the romance of a wedding to get us Siestas pondering our own wedding stories. Both of my sons were ring bearers in my sibbling's weddings. Nothin' like a little boy in a tux to make his mama cry...except when they are in their tux at the front of the church waiting for their bride...both of them took my breath away!

I too, was an 80's aerobics girl. Angie you named the songs I was thinking of. How 'bout "She Works Hard for the Money" or "Hightway to the Danger Zone"! LOL

Moore Family, be blessed this week as you celebrate God's wonderful blessing on you all. And thank you for allowing us to share in this special time with you. You are in my prayers this week and on Saturday. You are loved.

Amanda, I so agree with the statement that we would love to see pictures of your wedding!

PLEASE post LOTS of pictures of the big event. We will all be waiting!

Beth, your words to Melissa made me bawl, especially the last line. I bought each of my boys that book when they were small and wrote them each a letter to give to them on their wedding day. I had not thought of it in years. My firstborn will be getting married this summer, so I guess I have my first opportunity to give this gift. It is hard to believe that this time is here.

Enjoy this week and know that there are many who are praying for you.

Hi :)
I hope this isn't too long, but I must say Thank You and Praise the Lord. Reading the letter to Melissa, and observing the entire situation, has been such a mentoring vehicle for me. We, too, are marrying one off and sending her off from Ohio to Washington state promptly after her honeymoon. We were aware of the wedding, but the sudden move we just found out about last night, and she will be gone in less than a month.
:(

I want so bad to "do this right", meanwhile my selfishness is so badly wanting to take over, but I don't want to hinder the Lord's work. Even though they are moving only for a "good" job he just secured.

And to read your commission to your daughter and to bless her, is "how" I want to do this, I don't know if I can do it as eloquently or make it look as good. I am just going to miss her so terribly bad, and I know how you are feeling siesta Beth. But Thank You for being strong and mature, a wonderful model for me to look to as I struggle through this. I am praying for you, cause this is tough.

Thanks so much for your transparency each one of you.

Amanda,

You must be so excited for your little sis. And to have your little guy in a tux, so sweet!

I (like many other siestas) cried a river over that sweet letter from mom to daughter. Oh my, it ministered to my heart...

I had to go back and read it later (when the emotional side wore off) and I'll never forget the line about being Melissa being (not just liking) a four shot cappucino! Priceless.

Hope you have a blast this weekend! And you're getting a new family, how cool is that?!! Our prayers go with yall.

I am just laughing out loud, Amanda. I mean about the reason you didn't have a dance at your wedding and your mom's dance routines. My man will try to cut a rug if he thinks I want to - but it is a stiff run at two/three step with just a twist in the corner! However, dancing and rhythm are not a part of his natural abilities. He likes music, loves to praise the Lord, and well, every once in a while I will even hear him rehersing a verse or two in the car to the radio, but he is not musical or inclined to dance.

I remember the response I got from an old friend when I told him my fiance did not dance, he laughed out loud - you are going to marry a guy who doesn't dance? That is right, I married him in spite of his lack of desire for the dance floor because his love captured my heart. He's just my man, and I don't mind that we sway to the music in the living room, my days and knees for buring up the dance floor --- plus God kindly moved us out of that lifestyle a good 8 years ago which is a PRAISE the LORD! Though we did attend a dance at church last year (a Baptist church - no less!) We have also made the floor at weddings and I taught a bunch of kids how to boot scootin' boogie at the hoe down for the after school program - too much fun.

Anyway.... I've rambled on about enough. My daughter told me last night that she and her beau are seriiouly looking at engagement rings and a wedding date for Summer 2010 - I knew it was coming!

Personally I want them to both be sure this is the right decision for them both, but at the same time Weddings are a glorious thing! I look forward to the feast!

Blessings,
Michelle

Oh my word! And the day of the wedding a total flood. She had picked out the song "Butterfly Kisses" to walk down the isle with her father to give her away- by the way he also had to marry the girl! No wonder I was such a weeping willow and it explains my emotional time when I read Beth's letter. I feel for her so much and I hope she knows all of you are in my prayers. I couldn't be happier-I read the letter tonight in our Bib;e class--yes another flood of tears. Advice, take every moment and cherish them, don't rush anything. I think you are right Amanda, your sister should let your mom have some 80's aerobic music to dance to. I remember when my sister got married my nephew was 4 and his tuxcedo was a tuxckeedo and his boutonniere was a bootsmear. His was handsome. Of course he laid down on the floor of the church and used his ring-bearer's pillow to cushion his head as he went to sleep. I don't think the bride and groom were to their vows yet. It was pretty funny.

Amanda, I only hope they called you after the dance lessons...those are the funniest. My own sweet parents took dance lessons last winter in preparation for my wedding last May, and my dad called every week to tell me all about it. Apparently he was far more graceful than my mother and felt that she was really holding him back from his true calling as a dancer. The best part, though, was watching them dance together...neither was all that good, but it meant so much to me that they had tried! It was the sweetest.

Enjoy this week!

You can tell we're all true family because we're all excited about what's happening this Saturday. How awesome it must be to know that Melissa will have many prayers from all around the country being spoken over her on Saturday.
Let's say we have "Siesta Prayer Time" at 2pm central time on Saturday for the whole clan? Just a prayer lifting this couple up for their future together and that their honeymoon will be safe. Also that Beth's, Keith's & Amanda's hearts will beat with nothing but joy as they give their daughter/sister away to Colin & whatever else God lays on your heart.
So, this Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 2pm central time...siestas uniting in prayer over the Moore clan. Anyone?

My favorite picture of my son is in his tux for a family wedding. They sure know how to capture a mom's heart. Hope you get plenty of pictures and maybe even some video of the great event!!! The love letter to Melissa was awesome, how I wish I had thought to do something for my own daughter when she married last summer. How sweet of you to share, although I had to run by new tissue boxes for the entire place after reading that. Thanks so much for sharing MOORE life with all of us siestas - we will all be lifting you up in prayer in the days ahead. Jules

Amanda,
I agree with the others, your little one will be so handsome! (I've learned not to say cute when it comes to describing guys!) I pray that he will have as much fun as the rest of you. :)
I don't know how you or Beth can even concentrate this week with all the excitement. My hat's off to you both!
Thanks so much for sharing this with all of us. You are such an encouragement to me and my girls. You always confirm that it's ok to be crazy about each other - ever so close as a family. We loved the letter to Melissa (we laughed and I cried)and the ending was so special because we use that line from the book many, many times to each other! And I've written my girls many a letter at the pivotal points in their lives. (not quite as elequent as your mama tho :>))

I'll set my alarm for the prayer time!
love to you all

bahead said... "Boots Scootin' Boogie". Now that gives me an idea - I wonder if Beth (since she arrived Texas "too late") has yet to learn "The Cotton-Eyed Joe"?

Boots Scootin' Boogie would be so much more fun, I think. Does Beth actually own a pair of boots that scoot and boogie? *This is too much fun*

What an exciting and bittersweet week it must be at the Moore house! The letter to Melissa brought tears to my eyes as I thought of her! I remember my wedding day from nearly 4 years ago and how sweet it was when I walked down that aisle and saw my Prince Charming waiting on me! Take it all in, Melissa! It passes too fast!

Wishing Melissa and Colin all of God's richest blessings during these exciting days and the days ahead as you begin your lives together! May the coming days be filled with laughter, fun, kisses and lots of love as you glorify the Lord in His covenant of marriage!

Looking forward to seeing pictures of this glorious event next week!

Blessings and prayers to the Moore family!

Thank you both so much for including us in this very special wedding week. My own precious daughter married two years ago, and the sweet letter from Beth to Melissa certainly caused me to recall the range of emotions that a mother-of-the-bride experiences. My daughter had emailed me to be sure and go to the blog and to prepare to cry. I certainly did, as it was so precious. You are all in my prayers, and I pray that the day will bring glory to God and will be a true worship experience. I also pray that the desires of Melissa's heart will be abundantly exceeded. My own daughter set a wedding date of Dec. 30 and later was thrilled to learn that she would share an anniversary date with her beloved "Mrs. Beth." We have been blessed to take several studies and attend some LPL events together. She even included a touch of LPL to her wedding by using "In the Sanctuary" as her recessional. May God bless each of you this week and have fun dancing!

My niece was just a bit younger than Jackson when she was the flower girl at my wedding - 13 yrs ago! She held her mother's hand and that of the usher on her way down the aisle and we were all sure that she was going to pick up her feet and squeal "wheeeee" all the way down as she did all during the rehearsal. She didn't and frankly, that may have been my only disappointment the whole day! (She did however have all the baby's breath picked out of her hair by the time we got to the church.)

May God pour His richest blessings on all of you. Have a blast!

Amanda,

This has nothing to do with this post but I didn't know how to get in touch with you. As you know there have been many southern states affected by tornados last week. I received this email from someone in the Atkins,AR area. I was wondering if you could pass along the word that people in these areas need prayer as they are putting their lives back together.

I know the following email is lengthy but it's very much a testimony to the POWER OF PRAYER!

-----------------------------------

Hi Everybody. We are safe. We finally got electricity and so I can email you. I have had no phone or email, orcourse.

Have been charging my cell phone whereever someone would let me plug in. Thank you for checking on me. I am so sorry I was not able to hear your messages until now (phone and email.) But your
concern means so much to us.There are a lot of tornado stories, and ours, I am telling only for a testimonial of God's love and power.

The tornado sirens (the first one) woke us up at 4:30. I had been asleep two hours and that ended up being all I got in that day. I got four hours today though, so that is an improvement. John said he would get up and check it out and he did. He came back and said it would be here in five minutes. I said, "Well, I've prayed and I am going back to sleep." I think that kind of irritated him, Hee hee. He came back in a minute with Hurlan on the other line and said, "Dad said to get your self into the hall now!" I turned off the fan and it sounded like a herd of buffalo were running across the back yard straight for our bedroom window. I said, "I hear it."

When I stepped my foot onto the floor, our house was trembling and vibrating. This was my first tornado. In a second we were in the hall and John covered me with his body.

The noise became deafening. I raised my hand toward it and started praying against it loudly, then more like screaming as the volume of the storm grew louder and louder.

I held my hand out and prayed, "Satan, I rebuke you in the name of Jesus! Wind, I command you in the name of Jesus to stop! You cannot have us, we are children of the most High God...

John and I and this house are covered by the blood of Jesus. God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of love, and of power and of a sound mind. Devil, you take your cloud up now!

Take it up now! You cannot trespass here! A thousand may fall at my side and ten thousand at my right hand, but you, tornado, cannot come nigh this dwelling!"

I had an awareness in my spirit that if the word stopped flowing out of my mouth, it would rush in on us.

But I had this keen awareness that the word of God had greater power and was not going to let it in as long as I kept praying it.

Something happened to me in that moment in time, that I just know has changed my walk with God. I knew that I knew that I knew...that I believed what I was praying.

I BELIEVED that the word was more powerful than that tornado. I KNEW that God was in His word and every part of me believed in it 100%.

I thought that I knew it before, but now I know that I know it! I was just about out of scripture and was resorting to one I don't know about those who abide in the secret place of God shall dwell in the something of the Almighty.

You don't have time to think about what you are praying, so I know God was supplying the word. I was thinking, I'm going to have to start over. But, It stopped so suddenly that I thought we were in the eye of it or something. So I stayed in the hall. John went to the bedroom window and looked through the blinds. I said, "What do you see?" He said, "Peoples houses in our back yard." The cell phone rang and it was Justin Lusk checking on John. But after that, the lines got clogged and we couldn't call or be called. John was talking to Justin and I was just shouting, "Halelujah! Thank you Father! You are the Most High God!" I don't know what Justin thought – probably didn't care what anyone thought. After we prayed and thanked God, we went outside in the rain to look it over. We live in a subdivsion on a dead end street.

The people in the house to our left are Christians. They had a very long two by four driven like a nail through the roof of their house, pouring rain into their house.

One house down from them, a missionary lives. A two by four was driven through his windshielf of his truck. The next house down used to have a metal storage building in his back yard.

The tornado picked it up and carried over the top of his house, across the road, over the top of the facing house and dropped it, collapsing their privacy fence.
The next house had their privacy fence wiped out as well. All of that was from our house to the left. To our right, a metal glider swing had been rolled up like a
ball and passed between our storage building and our bedroom, taking out that neighbor's chain link fence. The debris from peoples homes and insulation, etc
cluttered our back yard right up to a visible line drawn about ten feet from our bedroom window across the back of our house. Nothing was within ten feet of our house.
John has a metal carport covering his boat. It was undisturbed. Our damage totaled two pieces of missing shingles, and three turned over trash cans.
But the house on the left and right of us had significant damage. Apparently, the tornado lifted when it came within ten feet of the back of our house, went over the top of our home and took the roof off of the house that faces us directly across the street.

All the houses on that side of the street facing us have to have new rooves. The first words out of John's mouth to Justin Lusk were,
"If you don't believe in the power of prayer and divine intervention, come look at our house." Yes, my husband said that! Praise God!

We didn't get lights on til now, but we had a place to spend the night, as my mom lives a mile from us. If you haven't been down by Lucky Landing, or down Old Wire Road , or past conagra feed mill on 64, Union Grove Rd or Talley lane, You cannot fathom the devastation. Whatever you are imagining, it is worse.

I left my paper route and drove down Talley Lane to check on my best friend from the High School years, because she wasn't answering her phone.

She wasn't there and neither was her home. My sister was trying to get to the storm cellar in Blackwell. She and her son were travelling down Old Wire Road with a friend following in the next car.

The tornado appeared in the field to the right of them, and she slammed on her brakes and turned around and went back, but the boy following them tried to outrun it.

The tornado caught him and flipped his car and broke both his legs. Every member of my family escaped without any damage or so much as a scrape. We do have those couple of shingles missing.

We found our trash cans (finally) jammed underneath our truck. We have been telling our story to as many people as will listen as a testimonial to God's great power, His mercy, and the power of prayer. I believe any kind of prayer is good, and effective too. But there is awesome power in praying the word of God, because Jesus was the word made flesh. I thank you for caring about us. And thank you for
letting me share our story with you. I hope to see you soon. Love, Jeannie and John

We did dance lessons, too, when my daughter got married two years ago. It was fun... it took a whole series of lessons to prepare us (my husband!) for the big day.
What songs did Melissa choose to dance to with her groom and her dad?
Ours (theirs) were At Last by Etta James, and Always Be Your Baby by Natalie Grant. Ah, happy memories!
Prayers are with the Moores this week... can't wait to get the updates and see pics!

Beth's letter to Melissa was breathtakingly beautiful. What an absolutely priceless treasure.

Many, many blessings to all of you this week!

Oh, I love the dance lesson idea! What's so funny is that I was just thinking yesterday that I would love for my husband to take dance lessons with our daughter, Mandy when she gets married. Our daughter, Melissa got married about a year and a half ago and there were no dance lessons. As much as I would love for him to take lessons before the next wedding I'm not holding my breath! Your Dad reminds me alot of my husband...he's a good ol' country boy and taking dance lessons would definately NOT be his idea of fun! I'm so proud of your Dad!

Thank you for Installment 1 of Wedding Week! I was so hoping y'all would be doing this for us. We're women..we need to know details (as you already know)! ;)
Also..last night I had a dream again (had a similar one many months ago) where I come to visit and stay with your mom and dad (ROFL!) and you and Melissa come over and we're just having a good 'ol time. Haha! Melissa was even already married in last night's dream! I told your mom that I had a week off and just wanted to spend my vacation with y'all, so that's why I flew out. (I'm rolling here!) What in the world do you think it means?? I remember it so vividly and also woke up around 3am, turned over and smiled, went back to sleep and continued on with the dream! I know, I know...I'm nuts. Maybe since my last name is Moore, too, I think I'm really related to y'all. Heehee!
Anyway..keep the wedding installments coming and take lots of pictures! Can't wait to see Jackson in his little suit! :)

Love,

Hi, Amanda,
Would love to see a picture of your little man in his suit. I have 2 grown men but they will always be "little" to me. There's nothing more precious than seeing a little boy in a coat and tie. BTW, my husband only dances with me twice a year and it's in our bedroom in private--once on our anniversary to "our song" and again on Christmas Eve to "Please Come Home for Christmas", our Christmas song. That's it. And I grew up with parents who jitterbugged up into their seventies!

Hello Seistas,
Congrats Moore Family on this glorious day!!!! I will praying with you as you journey through this life changing event.
I was hoping that I could ask an off topic question to the Moore family or to anyone out there.
I have been attending Tuesday night bible studies and I am also a member of First Baptist Church. God is teaching me and growing me SOOOO much through both bible study and what is being taught at church right now. Last Sunday morning Paster Gregg was teaching on being a man or woman of and in God. He made a statement about if you want to turn your man to God be a woman hidden in him. Tonight Beth also made a statement about relationships, that baggage attracts baggage. I know this to be very true. My husband and I have more baggage than Louis Vuitton ever created. My question after much explaining is this. What do you do if your husband does not come searching for you? What do you do if the other person in the marriage does not think they have bondage to deal with and you are trying to get out of yours?
Sorry this might be a downer to this very merry post.
If anyone as wisdom to share I am all eyes and ears.
Thanks for your time,
Candy

Beth, Thanks for the beautiful tribute and letter to Melissa you posted last Saturday. I'm sure not many of us were able to read that with a dry eye. While as a single-never-been-married siesta it made me have to turn over some emotions to the Lord I wasn't happy about, it was a great gift to give your daughter and I just know the wedding will be ADORABLE!!! :)

And, BTW, when my first brother got married, I have never been as speechless as when I saw him dance with his bride--I had no idea! They had taken ballroom dancing lessons and it showed! My brother--dance? UNBELIEVABLE! Now, Mom & Dad, that was sad but cute--they can't dance to save their souls (it's a legalistic Baptist thing) so that was a little funny at the wedding, but since they were smiling about it, so were the rest of us! Happy wedding whilrwind week--memories to last a lifetime! :) Blessings!

What is it about a man - or a little man - in a suit that does things to our heart? My husband has been a cop for over 10 years and everytime I see him in his uniform I still swoon! In fact, I'm going to lunch with him on duty tomorrow and I can't WAIT!

It's Saturday and I'll be praying for everyone today. God bless you all during this huge celebration.
