A Good Sign for 2008

Just in from Payless. I have no idea where I will walk with God in 2008, but my feet are liable to look good.

Those are cute shoes! I hope they are as comfortable as they are stylish.

I have a Quad A foot, I rarely find cute shoes, as a result I buy plants, flowers, and books instead.

I pray over you, your staff, and the Siestas attending Breaking Free next week and through out the study.

Lord, Anoint Beth as she pours out this message of Yours, a message of love and liberty. Prepare the spiritual hearts and ears of all attending to receive Your message and be set free to live a life in Christ full of freedom and joy.

Please keep Beth and her staff spiritually, mentally, and physically refreshed as they work through the Bible Study Season. Protect them from all harm. We rejoice in the fact that no weapon formed against them will prosper as they live in grace covered in the shed blood of our Saviour Jesus Christ! In Jesus' Holy and Righteous Name I pray. Amen.

Oh Amanda, that is just hilarious! It's certainly no secret that, just like in our walk with Christ, techno-savvy comes in baby steps. We'll just keep praying her to maturity! :o) Love you Beth!!

By the way, I called Hill Country Ministries to order a couple of prayer journals per Beth's recommendation, and asked the girl there if they were swamped...she just busted out laughing! They have indeed been inundated with orders, but she said it was a GREAT kind of busy and they were tickled and thankful that Beth thought to mention them. I'm glad she did, too!

Haaa haaa

I was pretty impressed at the picture myself, until Amanda ratted you out. lol

I am not a shoe person...AT ALL. I have 1 pair of black shoes, 1 pair of brown shoes, and 1 pair of sneakers, 1 pair of flippy-floppies, and 1 pair of boots with a worn out sole. *sigh - I love those boots - had them resoled once before* My former roommate purchased my really pretty flippyfloppy things for me last summer and it was the first time I ever wore anything like that. My girlfriends about passed out when I showed up to girls night out with funky shoes on.
Hmmm, I think I will have to rethink my shoes this year. :)

Thank you Beth for keeping it real. I love it that you have stayed humble and approachable. God knew what he was doing when he tugged at your heart to share his word. You're just so darned cute and I'm sure we would be great friends if distance and schedules would allow.

By the way, my sweet husband and I also celebrated 29 years of marriage in December and you and I are the same age (with the same maiden name no less). Also with a big yearly event where our wedding wrecked havoc with a lot of people's entertainment.

I have been a Christian my whole life but my walk with God has become so much closer by also walking with you through His word.

Thanks for following God's plan for your life, your enthusiasm with the word of God is contagious...and isn't that what it's all about? For us to be enthusiastic to go forth and share?

Enjoy the shoes, I'll be checking them out on my end of the country as soon as I can.

Those are some *cute* shoes, Miss Beth, indeed! I don't shop at Payless very often because here in Canada we have a joke that "Payless" should be called "Pay-the-same". Canadian Payless pricess are not nearly a good as they are in the states. FOr instance, I got a cute pair of flats for 15 dollars in the states last year and when I came back to Canada I thought I'd go get the matching brown ones, and they wanted 39 dollars at the Canada Payless for the same dang shoes. 39!! Ridiculous.

Also, and I really don't want to be a condemnational downer here, but I have to say that I more and more have a problem buying shoes as my husband and I try to think about what we purchase and how what we are purchasing affects others. Most of the shoes you can buy in North America, at Payless or otherwise, are made in China, or some other country where there are little or no worker's or human rights. Try buying much of anything these days that is made in Canada or the US, or even Europe where there are labor standards, and good luck indeed! We resolve this by trying to buy mostly second hand stuff, which also saves our wallet, but that can be rather time-consuming.

Haha, I know this was a post about cute shoes and leave it to me to get all serious, but it is something we should be thinking about as Christians, I believe.

Beth,
I am going through an unbelievably painful time in my life right now. I want so much for the Lord to lift it "right now"! In fact I have been waiting several years. Through it all I have found prideful flaws I didn't know I had. I have such a long way to go even though I have been a Christian many years now. I know that He is faithful and will see me through to the end if I stay with Him.
All this to say that I so VERY much appreciate your work and this blog. I feel like I am with special friends when I read it and when I went to it today and found shoes it blew me away! How wonderful it is to be able to share even things like this. Wow! I am so grateful for your ministry. May God richly continue to use you in this new 2008.

You are so funny, I hate to admit this to all ya'll siestas but I HATE SHOES! High heels have no place in my house, I never could walk in them. I get my shoes from my daughter and my sister after they are tired of them.I can apreciate a nice pair and a good deal though and those are really cute. Beth, did you learn to work that camera? you go girl, I'm still workin on mine. May all ya'll siestas have a very Blessed New Year.

Oh Beth! I love the shoes and I love that you share with us. Now that's siesta's!

I was just talking to my boss about shoes today and how important that women have shoes in different styles and shades of the same color. He didn't really understand but pretended he did. He wears the same ones every day....how horrible for him!!!

Keep working on that camera and I'm sure you'll have it downpat and we'll see lots more of your finds!

Ok. Is this about the shoes, or a sneaky way of posting pictures from your camera without us realizing that you have broken free from the digital bondage you have been suffering?

Regardless, love the shoes, but they make me sad.... there's 12+ inches of snow of the ground here and a peep toe is a no-no. :(

Beth,I have only posted on one other blog before besides my own that I post on maybe every 90 days or so but I really enjoyed reading yours today. My four year old daughter loved the shoes and we love payless too. I enjoyed the New Year post so much I started a journal on my computer because I don't have much luck keeping up with stuff. I just want you to know how God has used your Bible studies in my life. My first one was Beleiving God on video at my friends church. There was such a profound change in my life at the time and I realized you were in Houston. Since then I have attended Wising Up & Esther. Online I have completed Yet will I trust Him & Nehemiah. I was raised in church and my father was a Baptist preacher but never before have I learned God's Word so thoroughly. The Bible has become more to me the past 2 years than ever before. I remember in the video Believing God when you had all the ladies with letters on their backs go on stage and I had all but 2 of the reproaches that I had carried for 36 years. I went home that night a new woman in Christ. I finally Believed HIM! There have been moments like that in every study God has His hand on your ministry and I am reminded each day to pray for you and your family. I plan on bringing 2 other ladies next week to Breaking Free. My realtor who is a new Christian and a new member in my church who is widowed with 3 children and suffers depression. I know you will pray for them. Love in Christ. Laura

Great shoes! Wish I could put this size 10 NARROW in a PayLess shoe. Shoot! I just wish I could find some anywhere. I have been known to exasperate grown men in the sales department trying to help me find shoes. Not that I'm complaining you understand. ; )

"The devil may wear Prada, but...

SIESTAS WEAR PAYLESS!!!"

I love that quote by one of the blog Siesta's, Dora! Priceless (no pun intended)

I liked the shoes, but unfortunately, I am in the ranks with Amanda and Lissa. I wear an 8.5 and nothing is nearly as cute when it turns into a "boat".

So pretty they all are as they sit on the display at size 5 up to 6 but dig around and find them in small boat size and ugh...more here does not mean better!

BUT, I love you, Beth! You are so real girl. You make all of our hearts glad with your desire to live your life as authentic before us as possible.

Not that you have to have "cheap" shoes, but whatever it is, watching one of the Christian world "superstars" dressed in "Prada" and all that, I don't know, it just makes me feel strange. Not jealous or condemning but just strange.

I'm glad we have you down here on planet Earth doing life with the FATHER like the rest of us!

We love you little Siesta Beth!

Shoes are my downfall....at least a pair per outfit. But, this past few weeks I have been purchasing shoes for my new grand daughter, who just arrived on Dec. 30. I saw your post about walking with God and it brought me to tears because a new little one was delivered from God to us and where will we teach her to walk? I pray that this new year we will all walk closer to Him for He really does want a closer walk with us if we just will. Thanks Beth for the reminder....and now I know what it's like to be a 'granny'....I am beside myself.

Beth, I am at home with a cold and I am previewing the Psalms of Ascent for our Bible Study. I almost came out of my chair and danced when you announced in the Introductory Session that Travis would be singing a worship song each time. I am thrilled! And the song he sings in this session is one of my favorites that I sing loudly in my car. Thank you for helping those of us on the other side of the screen to be quiet before the Lord, worship Him and prepare our hearts before you give us the lesson of the day. How long I have wanted this worship to be a part of your studies! Hallelujah and Amen!!! Thanks a gazillion! We are very blessed. Isn't it fun when we can do stuff like buy shoes! May we also feel so very grateful for whatever shoes we own. Living on Prince Edward Island this year's winter season has seen 5 snow sotrms already which is very unusual for us, we haven't really had snow in almost 5 years. So my stylish look right now is boots, but very cool boots. My husband and I are looking forward to our southward bound trip in 3 weeks and Fort Myers Beach Florida will be walked very often by us as we enjoy our time there this year(missed going last year on account of our first grandchild being born But it was a year worth being home for even if he was a month early). Enjoy the pleasure of new shoes Beth, and be blessed.

Love those shoes. I found a great pair of flat pointy Ralph Lauren shoes today for $10 in a consignment shop. They looked brand new. I was thrilled with the Lord as he knew I was feeling frumpy with no style because I am 8 months pregnant. I just needed a stylish pair of shoes that were a little bigger than usual and still looked good. He really does care about the little things. Only thing is, I'm worried they will be too big after the baby and I won't be able to wear them. :o)

God Bless You, Beth!!!! At my age I go for comfort, which translates "not much style". A good pair of Clark's clogs and I'm good for a l-o-n-g time.

Payless needs to be giving you a serious "kick-back"...bad, yes I know. I've had more fun reading comments from this post than ever before. For a minute I thought you were putting them up for auction.

I just bought those shoes on on Dec. 31 - and wore them on a date with my hubby already!

The shoes are cute, but more importantly, how did they get on the blog? Did you do that yourself? If so, I am so proud of you!! Very impressive.
I love how you gave us 2 different angles of the shoes. You are obviously head over heels for them!

Beth,

I bought the shoes! They were on sale--bonus! My husband think they are fierce-so do I.

Blessings!

Dear Beth:

Does this post mean that you figured out how to post pictures on the blog from your camera? I am so excited for you. I have to call one of my kids or my hubby to help me do stuff like that on the computer.

Way to go on the shoe find. They are very cute.

I'm happy about your find, but realized that YOU, dear Beth, must have taken the picture! Does this mean that you and the digital camera have come to a truce?! ;) As I scroll down and read comments, I see that Lindsee caught that too!

My older sister got the "crazy for shoes" gene -- I didn't. But, my youngest daughter got it! She'd love these shoes! Are you able to run after Jackson in those? :)

Ok, I couldn't stand it any longer! I had to do it. I just had to go! Nobody was here to stop me:) I went to Payless, saw Beth's shoes, and purchased them right up. Size 9 and all. "I got big feet I cannot Lie". But Thank God, He's given me a really cute way to camaflouge them. He's so good to me:)
Thanks so much for leading me down the right path!
Loving you Moore each day!

Hey Beth and Amanda! I have a question for you guys... I have been doing several of Beth's studies for the past couple years and I am just now finishing up one. I have loved them and they've been a tremendous blessing to me, but I'm looking for something a tad different for this season. Do you have any other specific Bible study suggestions?
