So hope I can come! The video was hee-hawlarious. I consider myself a silent siesta - I love to read but don't comment much.
By the way, I need an opinion - I have an almost 4 year old and almost 1 year old and study my SS lesson during their naps. So, I was wondering if it still counts as Bible study if you have to tell the 4 year old "be quiet, be still, go to sleep, etc." after every paragraph. Please tell me I'm not the only one!

That was AWESOME!! Saw and heard every last snore and word! But...i'm sad! Some of us have already bought our tickets for Louisville '08. Can we have special "siesta seating???" We even thought about flying out to Tx for the San Antonio LPL because we love it there.

I've been trying to choose my yearly Living Proof Live event to attend & had made up my mind yesterday to go ahead and make hotel reservations in San Antonio and they wouldn't let me do it just yet. I'll check back tomorrow and see what the details are.

Oh my! I just went to the San Antonio travelors website. Viewed the Texas restaurants. Wow! Talk about a steak, those things are huge! Eating a Texas steak is going to be an experience. Ymmm. Rice pilaf FORBIDDEN!! Bring on the potatos.

That was so funny! Oh, Amanda - I wanted to share this with you. I thought your top 25 things about your sister was so cool I decided to do that for my sister. I took several days and put together my list, and used one of the items on your list - the last one about donating a kidney or a lung to each other. So i put it in a nice card, and when my sister got it she said she loved it, but we couldn't share organs because she's a positive blood type and I'm negative :-( She didn't have to tell me that - talk about bursting my bubble. Anyway - thanks for your work here - you guys are much loved!!

The best, best part of that video was the SUSPENSE! WHERE? Where is it going to be???? And finally the card pops up -
The second best part was the siesta-ish state Beth is in. Duh. It's a siesta fiesta. I had almost forgotten the real meaning of the word siesta after seeing it here so often.
The third best part was the really authentic shawl-thingy Beth is was wearing. I think I have one of those I can wear.

I loved it! I told my husband I am so there. And then he reminded me our first child will be most likely heading off to college around that timeframe. Oh well, I'll catch the next one...the next one off to college, I mean! Oh, just kidding. But the following year our next child goes off to college so that will be two years of missing Siesta Fiesta! Please o' please plan it for another time in 2009, other than off-to-college-time! (insert loud whining here).

I checked the blog today and saw the video. Then I called my good friend and told her to get on and check it out and then call me back. So she called me back and we are planning on coming! YEAH! I am so excited and I LOVE San Antonio and the Riverwalk! I don't live too far from there (3 hours) but it's so exciting to go because I don't get to very often. I told my friend that I think our husbands have PLENTY of time to plan around that weekend. You are too funny, Beth. Can't wait!

DD#2 discovered that both mom & dad snored when we vacationed at Disney World. We had a busy day at Animal Kingdom & the family of 5 crashed in one hotel room. She woke up crying- she was dreaming of the lions and heard our snoring & thought they were after her! :0 True story!
Now, to work on my DH for his FF miles...

I didn't see anyone else respond to your question about when "Sistahs" got changed to "Siestas", so I thought I'd send my first post on this blog. It was after Beth was out here in Albuquerque a few months ago. She was trying to post her May 22nd post and spell-checker insisted that the "sistahs" she had written should be spelled "siestas". It was great timing because of the recent Albuquerque conference, and "Siesta" just stuck. :)
