Belated Albuquerque Commissioning

My Darling Albuquerque Sisters, please forgive me for not getting your commissioning up until now! My delay could not possibly be a poorer reflection of my high esteem and deep affection for you. I totally loved my time with you. You were a terrific group and hand picked by God for that exact weekend. So gracious and compassionate. As you remember, I had just buried my Dad a few days before I came and, although God granted me complete focus and engagement while I was there, I returned to mountains of details to still take care of regarding his death...and my own grief to deal with. And in the process, I lost my notes of the commissioning! Dad blast it! Thank goodness, my buddies on the LifeWay event team had copied it and posted it and I was able to get it from them. I love you dearly and I am so thankful for you. For all of you who were not with us, our text that weekend was Philippians 2 if you care to read it first then reflect upon the charges below.

I am deeply grateful to be each of your servant. My inmost desire is to serve you Jesus and for the bottom line of all our interaction to be a more passionate love and knowledge of Him. Make no mistake. He is Life.

Dearly loved one
You’ve been called by God
To shine like a star
In a dark, depraved world
Don’t blend in
Refuse the daily temptation
To be absorbed in yourself
Take interest in others
Deliberately humble yourself
And live the life of a servant
As you live in the crisis
Of “continue to”
Keep working out
What God is working in
Watch your mouth
Choose words of life
And one glorious day
You will see the face of Christ
And He will show you
Every good purpose
He fulfilled through you
And there will be delight
Even if you are despised or ignored
You are Christ’s star
Go forth and shine

Beth and Amanda,

I've done it before but I want to thank you again for putting these Commissions on the blog. Beth, thank you for including the scripture reference because God has, indeed, sent forth His Word and brought it back for its intended purpose. Even though I have not been at these events, God has spoken directly to me by reading His Word and then reading the Commission that goes with it.

Thanks for your faithfulness and friendship!

zzzzzzzz -- sorry, I'm a Siesta and I must have drifted off.... :)

Blessings,
Dori

That we "are Christ's stars." I think I'm just going to sit and chew on that one for a while.

And Mrs. Beth, your message on humility out of Philippians 2 from Passion this year has been marked on my heart. Thank you for obediently sharing what He had given you to speak. I will 'hold fast to' that word of life. He surely used it to affect me profoundly in my approach to serve and minister.

See you in Boone...and believing now that God will be the Highly Exalted One. We give you MUCH praise LORD.

Love all you 'siestas' :)

Thank you Beth. As one who was unable to complete day two of the conference, it fills in the blanks a little bit for me.
We love you here in NM, very very much.

I look so forward to the commissionings...been posting them on my computer to remind myself when I get down about trying to find my niche in this world and being alone so much. Thank you Beth for these inspirations.

Oh, Beth!
I simply cannot tell you how timely this commissioning is for me just "now"! I left for lunch break feeling down & defeated over something really silly! When I came back from lunch, I thought I'd check out your blog before I did any "work" related items and wouldn't you know it, God so set me up for this;) He knew I needed it to free me from my self-loathing! Thank You, for setting up this Divine Appointment!

much luv, lynda m. in little rock

Beth, thank you so much for responding. Just yesterday I was able to get help retrieving the commissioning from Betsy at Lifeway. In the process, I discovered that there is a recap of each LPL event along with the commissioning and a sweet note from the event coordinator on the Lifeway website. Thank you for taking time to send this our way in the midst of all that you are dealing with. We never felt forgotten, we know better. Thank you for your servant heart to our community and your partnership in the gospel, dear sister. Thank you also for sharing your life with so many via this blog. Grace and Peace, Kathleen C.

You didn't post this before because Jesus knew I needed to see it TODAY...a NOW word, and it was not a moment too soon. Oh, how beautifully perfect His timing is! Thanks, friend. :)

Refusing the temptation to be absorbed in myself....taking more of an interest in others...humbling myself and living the life of a servant....

four times in five days I've been confronted with this...I definitely think I need to really hear this

Oh, that is soooo good. I was supposed to ride from Denver to Albuquerque for that convention but also had a death in the family. Glad to see the commission posted as it is something I need to think about. I'm in leadership and get so burned out that sometimes I don't even go to church except to fulfill my responsibilities. My main excuse is sooo self absorbed "I'm tired and just don't have it in me to pray for one more person. I have nothing to offer." A lot of me stuff in there, so I'll take this commission to heart, get over myself, and continue on.
Thanks!

I must have been taking a siesta when I attached my comment to the wrong post. I meant to say Amen and Amen to the TRUTH from Philippians 2.

I attended the Alb. meeting with 3 of my "siestas" and we had a wonderful time. We all were so inspired by letting God's energy accomplish His work. Our church started a revival the Sunday after getting back from the conference and we were already revived. That commissioning has drawn all four of us closer to God and to each other and now we are getting ready for VBS. Thank you for sharing your heart with us.

Beth, I don't know if you get sick of hearing this , or if it starts to sound cliche' after a few years , but I really DO LOVE and APPRECIATE you. Your Bible studies have opened up a new world for me. You bring the Bible to life in a way I can understand. I just love you to pieces for serving God and us the way you do. I was in Albuquerque for both LPL events ( I mean the one recently and the one about , 6 years ago was it ? ) I was SO TOUCHED by you having the grace to share with us , that you had NOT dreaded , even for a moment , coming to Albuquerque , after your dad had just gone on to be with the Lord. It HAD to have been God. You just amaze me. It was GREAT worshipping God with Travis and everyone and then learning from God's word. PLease come back soon, I feel like I could just bawl right now. Thank you for loving God and us enough to want to inpire us to get into God's Word and BELIEVE Him and trust Him with EVERYTHING in our lives. I know you've had to give up much to do what you do. Know that God is working in us , through you . Thank you for treating us with such respect and for sharing with us about " preferring others ".

Now I want an enchilada too ! With green chile. ; )

Thank you Lord for my siestas and our Beth.

Beth, I was privelaged to be at the conference in Albuquerque and hardly and hour goes by that I don't think of something that God impressed on me over that weekend, through you. One of the things I love most about you is that intentionally or not, you have inspired unity among believers! We traveled with a group of Methodists, Baptists, and Church of Christers! Simply as Sisters in Christ. No other titles. Thank you for the new motto - Prefer the Other. It's been at the forefront of my mind....Love you Beth!

How do you ever find time to do all that you do? It has to be a God-thing. No doubt about it! May God continue to comfort you and sustain you as you deal with all you have to deal with.

My Dearest Beth,
I am deeply touched by you and your tenacious spirit for the Lord. He is to be praised for ever. Por Vida! You have been an inspiration to me at very difficult times in my past and now I can rejoice that God has worked all out for good, no matter the trials my ex and I have gone thru. We have been speaking for almost two years after all my tears and prayers broke him to turning to the Lord. The Lord captured him from a very dangerous life and he had divorced me during our third pregnancy. So now we are working on becoming a family of seven as soon as the Lord creates the path. Right now the path is willing, but we know that God will use a vessel to have it come to fruition. Everyone has a story. God bless you and you entire team. susanstar01@aol.com if anyone can be blessed.

Beth,

Thank you for your inspirational message. This was my first conference seeing you live and I was truly touched by your enthusiam and love for our Lord and the way you deliver His Word to others. I was part of the small group from Holloman AFB in Alamogordo and we were all so deeply touched that you and Lifeway honored the military by showing videos of the husbands/fathers of some of the women/daughters of our group. It brought tears to all of our eyes. You are truly a gift from God and it's clearly shown He chose you for a great purpose.

God Bless you!
