Big Simulcast Giveaways and One Little Question!

Hey, You Darling Things! I hope you are so blessed in the presence of the living Lord Jesus Christ this fine day. We have missed you while we've been gone and, boy oh boy, have we EVER hit the ground running! It's simulcast time and, because of God's graciousness through YOU and our wonderful Siesta Scholarship fund, we have some great giveaways. We are going to do our regular 10-ticket giveaway for the on-site location in Green Bay but we at LPM would also love to support the Houston and surrounding area simulcast sites.

Look several paragraphs below and see if any of these locations work for you and, if so, NOTE WHO TO CONTACT next to it. You are only contacting us directly at LPM if you need a scholarship to the on-site location in Green Bay. Otherwise you are contacting the church itself then their folks are getting the numbers to us and we're covering those costs.

Some of you have asked a very good question: why are ticket prices different from location to location? The churches pay a flat fee to CCN, the simulcast company, then they charge what they must to cover their costs. Some churches simply have bigger women's ministry budgets and can charge much less but, I assure you, all those locations are doing what they can to keep the costs as low as possible. Many of them just don't have an extra dime in these hard financial times.

By the way, I can't remember ever explaining ticket sales and maybe this is the perfect time: I would give anything if ministry opportunities like these didn't cost a single cent but, unfortunately, they are very expensive. You cannot imagine all the equipment and personnel involved. This you can know, however. Your Siesta Mama is not putting one penny in her little pocket from any speaking engagement. I donate all speaking honorariums to the work of ministry whether here or elsewhere. When our numbers began growing so unexpectedly and (for this season) we could no longer get our groups in church auditoriums, we deliberated very hard over whether to offer big events like LPL for free or ticket them. We made the difficult choice to have them ticketed because, otherwise, I (or someone else on the team) would be stuck with having to ask for money numerous times at the event in order to cover the costs. You'll find it both ways out there in the event world.

It's just two different philosophies and neither of them are perfect but I simply felt more comfortable ticketing up front. I don't like the choices any better than you do but they are a fact of life. A sense of God's approval or disapproval is what I've sought over matters as murky as these and I am certain that this has been His way for us to operate for now. He knows our hearts and our ministry desires and that we would do anything we possible could to get a person in the door who really wants to be there.

NOW, for the ticket giveaways!!

10 Tickets available for the ON SITE location in GREEN BAY, WISCONSIN. Call Susan or Kimberly at Living Proof Ministries at 1-888-700-1999.

10 Tickets available for Memorial Baptist Church in Pasadena, Texas. (6901 Fairmont Parkway, 77505) - Call the church directly at 281-998-9051 and tell them you desire one of the Living Proof scholarships. Your contact name is Steve if you happen to get someone who is unfamiliar with what you're talking about.

10 Tickets available for Kingwood United Methodist Church in Humble, Texas. (1799 Woodland Hills Drive, 77339) - Call the church directly at 281-358-2137. Right now I don't have a contact name for this one but simply tell them you need to speak with someone about this weekend's simulcast. They'll put you in touch with the right person. Then tell that person that you'd like to claim a Living Proof scholarship if one is still available.

10 Tickets available for Crosby Church of AFOB in Crosby, Texas. (5725 Highway 90, 77532) - Call the church directly at 281-328-1310 and tell them you desire one of the Living Proof Scholarships. Your contact name is Tiffany.

20 Tickets available at Houston's First Baptist Church (it's my home church, Siestas! I'm compelled to give a double portion!). (7401 Katy Freeway, 77024) Call 713-681-8000 and ask for the women's ministry office then tell them you desire one of the Living Proof Scholarships. (By the way, many of our LPM staff members will be there at the event this weekend including our own Siesta blog master, my dearest Amanda.)

We're so pumped! We hope so much these giveaways are big blessings to you!

OK, now for the question, my beloved Siestas!! This question is directed to ANYONE ATTENDING THE LPL SIMULCAST THIS WEEKEND regardless of location. Since most of our audience will not be on site where we can see faces and perceive conditions of lives and hearts, I could use your help imagining who's on the other side of that camera. Would you mind giving me the following 3 pieces of information in a comment?

Your age? (Even the decade is great)

Single or married?

What is the biggest issue in your life right now? Please, please, please answer in only a few brief sentences so I can read each one of them.

So that I can readily distinguish your answers from the rest of the comments, would you please start your comment with the word "Attending"? That would really help. You can't imagine how your answers will add to my preparation of heart, soul, and message.

We so desire to serve you, Siestas. We want so much to honor God here at Living Proof Ministries. May He be highly exalted and may He show Himself mighty to you this day.

I surely do love you.

PS. I just found this comment from Tracy, one of our Siestas, and I felt like it needed to be posted here so those of you in their area would more likely see it. Thank you so much, FBC Jacksonville, NC!!

My biggest issue is remaining content in the plans that God has for me, and trying to not let the people around me sway that contentment. Many don't understand my peace at being single at this stage in my life, or being so on fire for Him that I don't desire so many worldly things.

I KNOW that each of us will be met by the Holy Spirit this weekend - I CANNOT wait! :)

Understanding God's will for my life, what does he want me to do to honor Him and serve Him? Feel like I wasted many precious years in not serving Him, want my life to have an impact for the His Kingdom in some way.

attending/simulcast: born 1950, married, my biggest challenge right now is trying to find the fine line between tough love and help for my youngest son who has chosen the life of drugs and streets to his family and most heartbreaking, his 2yr old precious daughter. I have turned it over to our Lord in my head but my heart is breaking for my son and am so lost in the decisions that need to be made. It really, really hurts to watch your child slowly kill himself and be helpless in those choices.... Thank you.

Single... (Which also happens to be my issue right now!) The desire of my heart is marriage and a family. My prayer is that I will be content as I am now but the desire to marry seems to never fade. Sadly the desire itself has become a burden because I just can't shake it.

I am looking forward to this weekend for the worship, inspiring words that I know God will give you and the sweet time with other Siestas!

Thank you for the information on cost and how the money is used. I have also wondered, however, why your ministry charges for mp3 downloads when many/most others offer these for free. I feel I cannot, in good conscience, recommend a friend look up a topic and then say, 'by the way, you have to pay for it'.
I sent this question on an e mail but never received a reply.

My biggest issue remains the ability to trust God completely and let Him be in control of not just my life but the lives of my family members. I might start out the day trusting and leaving God in charge but as the day goes along or if something happens I sometimes (but I am better now than a year ago) I fall into the trap of pulling myself or my beloved family member back under my "worry folder" in my mind closet.

My prayers are with you and everyone attending this weekend. Thanks for all you and your ministry do for all of us.

My biggest issue is making this life of faith real to my 16-year-old son. I feel like we as parents have brought him "this far." We have and do model it. But this is the age (I think) where it needs to become more REAL to him. I pray that we are in an environment where he can develop (has developed) his own relationship with our savior. Our church is in the midst of changes (ELCA) and I'm not sure this is where we need to stay to nurture any of our relationships with Jesus. Praying for discernment.

I live in Wyoming and there is not a church within 75 miles of where I live hosting the Simulcast.

I am 55, single (divorced) for over nine years.

I am so tired of being single, ALONE, feeling UNWANTED. I go out to dinner with a friend occasionally, but I don't get to go on vacations (I can't afford it anyway). I do all the cleaning, cooking (for me) grocery shopping, yard work, laundry, you name it. My house needs work, my plumbing outside needs work, my kitchen sink needs work. I am weary of spending every dime I have on necessities. I am tired of eating every meal at night alone. I am always a 2 minute cry away from a meltdown.

BUT, I am trusting in Him. I am holding onto a reversal of destiny.

*my new husband, sweet as he is, doesn't talk to me much - I guess it's the Army in him? :)
*my own mama, who's a widow, doesn't want anything to do with me right now because my sister and I don't approve of her new boyfriend.

so. even though I know God loves me, how do I feel that love in a tangible way from Him, when all I feel around me is rejection? I want to feel loved, and worthy to be loved, more than anything in this world.

thank you Miss Beth.

My son's adjustment to going to college, for him to continue to make being surrounded by Christians a priority, staying focused and passing his classes this first semester. Hard, Hard, especially raising kids to know this also.

Also, I am bringing with me a 21 year old young woman, who just told me she would come, new to the WORD, New christian...new to Beth Moore...I have been mentoring her for 6 weeks now and she is very hungry. Deep needs and wounds which I can't relate, Recovering addict, about to be homeless, her child was taken from her, has lost everything, burnt many bridges, and wants to start over, but seeing her struggles, some of which I have no idea how she handles it all, only b/c of the LORD, she has alot against her...BUT she has found HIM and has hope, please pray for her. We will be in Longview Texas.

I have dove out of my comfort zone...and I AM LOVING IT!!!! I'm growing in HIM b/c of this precious woman...I needed her as much as she needed me!

I'm not putting my name in the pot for the scholarship... I just wanted to let you know that I "approve" of your admission technique. Not that you NEED the approval of any person when you have sought God, but that is why I know it is right. Because you HAVE sought God. I just wanted to give you a little nudge of encouragement that I think you (yourself and your staff) are doing a great job in the behind-the-scenes aspect of the ministry. That part probably doesn't get as much praise as the up-front end and I know it takes a lot of time, energy, prayer and brain cells in general. It is the part that probably gets criticized the most and where so much spiritual warfare takes place. And you handle it well. Keep up the good work :)

Reality: single, unloved, lonely, a job that is literally a "job" (not a calling, passion, etc), and a host of friends with Godly husbands and sweet babies. Constantly I struggle with feeling like He is not for me or doesn't care for me because I remain stuck. Always single. Always working for things that do not matter regardless of eight or so years of my cries for vision, purpose, and deliverance. I continue to lay my desires before Him and sift them so they will not become toxic to my faith, but oh is it a struggle because the desires remain and burn inside of me. It's like always having an itch I'm not allowed to scratch.

The biggest issue in my life revolves around my marriage. There is no intimacy in our relationship. Not physical, not emotional, not spiritual. Love all four of them to goodness and they are my living proof that I am loved and forgiven and trusted!! :) My biggest concern within this issue currently is my dear 14 year old daughter who just started High School at a new school and feels so very alone and could really use a friend or a friendly face. She has stopped praying for herself because she feels that God doesn't hear her, but she will allow my husband and me to pray with her. I just so desperately want her to draw near to our Heavenly Father at this time instead of turning away. I'm so concerned with what trials she will face in the years ahead and how important it is for her to learn to lean on Him.

dealing with an issue following our ladies ministry team meeting last night. Meeting went great. Some flippant comment I made offended my best friend's daughter. Must be other issues going on. I have apologized on answering machine and email but no response from her yet. Ps 139:23-24 and read James last night and prayed. My conscience is clear but i hate it for our relationship.

Can hardly wait to "see you" this weekend again and praise and worship God together.

My dtr got a going-away-moving- gift last week.... it was a painted rock that read "Praise the Lord so I can be silent" --- I loved it!!! (My dtr will be with me this weekend at the simulcast!)

I am struggling to be disciplined in my faith. I want to be the mom who wakes at 6am to pray over her family. I want to rise early and have my quiet time before the business of the day begins. (instead of during nap time) I want to begin to fast for the faith of my children on a regular basis.

I need His help to determine to do it - starting today.

My biggest issue is God healing my past. Only this week have I completely turned over hurts that have incurred over the past 7 years. I attempted to self-medicate my wounds and ended up in a pit of sin so dark, I never would have believed it existed. But now, we're healing...and I'm scared, I'm ashamed, and I'm depressed.

My biggest issue right now is fear. I am a cancer survivor and am now cancer free, praise the Lord! However, I live in constant fear of myself or a loved one getting cancer or another horrible illness. I now have a precious one year old daughter, and I am plagued by fears that I will die while she is young or that she will develop childhood cancer. I know that God does not want me to fear, but I just can't break free of it.

May you continue to be blessed at the level that you bless us, which is more than can be expressed in one lifetime. Lots of love dear sister in Christ, An Austin Siesta
