She is too adorable. I have huge hair that my hairdresser is forever "thinning out"! To no avail. I am hugely blessed by her workbook and the chapter on "anger issues" which I swore I did not HAVE, is just what I needed.
Oh, Jennifer, you're awesome! And I so needed to be reminded today that who I am and what I struggle with are not the same! I'm a fellow big-haired Siesta, so I loved the flatten-it ideas! LOL

I sure needed to hear this, who I am. I am a child of the King, not what I tell myself I am. Thank you Jennifer! I am slowly working on the study (solo), and memorizing the scriptures.
Now, the hair issue.... I have very short, fine, thin, hair. I gel it, spray it, flat iron it so it sticks out, spray it again, and since I am a hairdresser,(I know this works...) I spray it again for good measure.

I started out thinking this wasn't much of a problem for me but as I get further into the study I realize I have things to learn and apply to my life. Thank you Jennifer for your insight into our "Thought Closets". I have been cleaning out my closet and can't believe how cluttered it had become. It is so wonderful how it lifts my spirits to change my thought patterns to those of God's!
It has been truly freeing for me to stop thinking things are all about me when I don't even enter into the equation sometimes!
You know the "if only I had done it this way" or "they must be mad at me because of _____". Those misleading faulty assumptions were always messing me up!
God's Word is truly faithful and I just love it when God gives the gift of understanding and teaching to Sister's like you. Thanks for sharing your gifts!

Oh this was so wonderful to see. Now Mama Beth I want you to know that I respect your hair issues..but I must say Jennifer's suggestions for hair fit me and she has short hair like me...so I must say she is an angel with her hair ideas...Can you imagine if they actually had something called flatten it and who knew the you could feed the dog and do your hair with one bowl? I am thankful for you and this study and my siestas and Jennifer who pops in once in a while.

My hair is very thick but now I wear it very short and spikey on top so I have no need to bumpet or flattenit. Too funny. I have not been blessed with big hair so flattenits would not be needed. But, I don't have enough hair to cover a Bumpit big enough to help me out. (I'm only 4'11"). But I have to tell you, we were meeting at Hastings in Topeka, KS last week and got so excited because as we walked in there was a shelf of Bumpits. We laughed for 5 minutes and went and got the box (even opened it) so we could see them up close and personal.
I love being part of this siesta community. Y'all are too much!

I love Jennifer Rothschild. Altho I'm not able to do the current Bible study with the siestas, I am doing the "Walking By Faith" study which is wonderful for this season of my life.
Several months ago our church did "Fingerprints of God" which was absolutely wonderful and timely.

I think the "thought closet" approach is a wonderful and week 4 has helped me understand more how I have let some thoughts into my closet without examining them to see if they are really mine or the enemy's. My 10 year old son enjoyed the frozen vegetable idea. I think he is plundering the freezer right now.

Thank you so much for writing this study - it is profoundly impacting both me and the friend who is doing it with me. I actually had dinner with my mother tonight and told her about it, and she made sure to get the name of the study so that she could buy the book for herself, too. I told my mom tonight that I've already found myself taking my thoughts captive more quickly and feeling less a slave to my FEELINGS and more freed up by the truth of God's Word - and that is just in this short time. Thank you for your trust in and faithfulness to Jesus. Thank you for loving Him and us enough to minister to us in this way. And thank you for this wonderful video today, too. What a gift! I can relate to your hair issue - I've had MAJOR big hair all my life. Funny thing for me is that nowadays I flatten out the frizzies & fluff with a flat iron as much as possible, then I put a few hot rollers back in the top to "bump it" back up slightly. I want it smooth but I still got to have that 'big' on top. Aren't we a mess?! hehe :)

I love Jennifer! I remember seeing her on Praise the Lord when Kirk Cameron was hosting and I just felt my soul calm as I heard her communicate. While doing this study, I realized why. She is at peace so, she causes others to be at peace...a true peacemaker as the Bible calls us to be.

I myself live with Spina Bifida. I've had days where I just wanna quit, but I know this is my unchangeable lable that I need to use to help people see what Christ can do through me.

Sweet sweet Jennifer I love you - you are in my Fav 5 :) Your books have ministered to me and encouraged me in dark times - you are a wonderful mentor along with Beth in my life. For many years I have been a tad bit jealous of those women who have had a mentor in their lives - I have asked for a women to walk along side of me in life and ministry but it has never happened - so I just kept on doing my thing. Well as I look back on this past decade - I see two women who have walked along side of me in life and ministry - who have shared my darkest moments and my highest mountains - who have sat with me and opened the Word to me and have spoken truth into my life - and who have taught me - you and Beth - you are rock-stars in my eyes - I just wish that I could hug your skin - thanks for putting so much into my life. So nice to "meet" you via the blog! I confess I haven't done any of your studies yet, but this one is most certainly one that God is using in my life in a big way! What you said about letting my weaknesses refine me is something that I'm realizing God wants to do in me. He is refining me to make me come forth purified with genuine faith. Also, thinking about who I am in Him instead of how I feel about myself is critical for me. I have to operate out of my "new creation" self instead of the old flesh nature. Jennifer! You are such a delight and your study is such a huge blessing! I have another idea to "Flatten It" - my teenager uses a snow/ski cap. We have no other real use for them in hot central Texas but the ski cap works to Flatten his fluffy wavy hair.

I love your video. I am one of the ladies from the "Okinawa Girls" group here in Okinawa, Japan that has been doing this study on-line with Beth Moore.
Your book has made such an impact on me in the few short weeks we have been studying it. EVERY day I do the study -- and EVERY day God is talking directly at me in such a PROFOUND way through something you had written.
I am at a point in my life -- that I really need to hear from God, well to be honest and as Beth says, "Sit down, shut up, and listen to what God has to say." And oh my word -- He is speaking LOUDLY through everything you have written in this book.
It's hard to swallow, but my closets need to be seriously re-vamped.
THANK YOU for writing what God has asked you to write! You are a true woman of Christ and I thank you for listening to Him and His direction that He has taken you!
Keep up the awesome work. Oh and we can buy the bumpits here in the local Japanese stores. How funny is that!?
