One More Thing, My Dear Siestas
A few minutes ago, I jotted AJ (Amanda) an email to let her know that I had posted the commissioning for our "Sistas" and my spell-check objected and insisted that I call you my "siestas." It made me laugh.
And made me hungry for an enchilada. Then ready for a nap.

Now I'm craving one! And for those of you who can't, I'm going to take a nap for us now :) The honor is all mine - he he.
Hello Beth I wanted you to know that I have done most of your bible studies. I am also on your prayer chain list. I write this as encouragement that you are not the only one that God has lifted up to be beautiful beyond what would be evidence to the world. I know you have people around you that I am sure have the encouragement thing down pat, but keep doing what you are doing.
I also love to write so this is for you.
WE ALL WANT SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL…………………………
WE ALL WANT SOMETHING SOUL FULFILLING…………….
WE ALL CRY.........................
SOME OF US PRETEND………………………………................
SOME OF US DON’T……………………………...................
SOME OF US BOW DOWN AND DON’T GET UP, BUT STILL TRY TO PRETEND…DOESN’T WORK VERY GOOD……………………
SO THEN SOME OF US TRY TO RAISE OURSELVES UP BY OUR OWN EFFORT, WITH A SMATTERING OF GOD…………………………….
DOESN’T WORK VERY GOOD BUT BETTER THEN BEFORE………..
THEN ONE DAY YOU REALIZE THAT YOUR PUZZLE PIECES AREN’T FITTING TOGETHER AND YOU ARE JUST NOT SMART ENOUGH TO FIT THEM TOGETHER AND YOU THINK SOME OF THE PIECES ARE MISSING, BUT YOU AREN’T SMART ENOUGH TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THEY ARE………………….....
YOU THOUGHT YOU SAW ONE OF YOUR PIECES, AND TRIED TO GET IT, BUT IT WASN’T ANYMORE THEN A MIRAGE………
WHAT IS THE FINAL ANSWER……….ATTACH YOURSELF TO GOD, AND DON’T GIVE UP TILL HE BLESSES YOU.
In Christ………………..Judy
lol, how funny. I'll trade you an enchilada for a chimichanga! mmmmm must be time for lunch! :)
Amen and Amen, or better yet,
TRUTH! TRUTH!
Dear Beth,
You better get ready sistas! You won't know what hit you...... THE STUDY BUDDIES (I did not choose this name) are coming in full force to see you this weekend in Boone. We are wild and crazy and soooooooooooooooooo blessed to have the opportunity to see you in person. I'll be the person passed out in your audience from all the excitement. I'm also praying for all the ladies who come that The Lord will do almighty things for all the women who come.
Can't wait to see you 3 more days.
Blessings Sarah - Prayer Warrior.
Ps: The good Lord also wants me to give you something very special from him. I have no idea how this will happen as this is a huge conference, but he told me to bring it so you could have it. Well I just have to have FAITH> he knows all, I know NOTHING!!!!
I'll take an enchilada and siesta too! :)
Dear Sista Beth,
Please take care of yourself! I know GOD is faithful and HE alone is your rest, but if you feel HIM urging you to rest please do so!
I know you are to be in Boone, NC this weekend at Applachian State University and though our church group couldn't get tickets because it sold out quickly, we will be praying for you and be with you there in spirit. It's a beautiful area!
Promise you will get some rest soon! Our group is supposed to see you at the WOF pre-conference in July in DC so I hope you have time in between to just love on your family and have them love on you and let the Prince of Peace give you HIS peace.
Take care of you..you are HIS daughter and our sista and we care!
Love in HIM!
Teri
Ahhhh! That sweet Beth might accidentally mistake us for a nap. It's fitting though for this 40 something momma of four young children. I'm always in need of a siesta, so why not be known as one. LOL! Too funny, you are.
Blessings,
~Toni~
Oh Beth, you crack me up!!
I'll be your "sista" or your "siesta" makes no matter to me!!
Mmmm....mmmm.....it's about lunch time here and I think I'll heed your suggestion and then catch a few zzzz's as well!!
Love you girlfriend!!
Beth,
I am priviledged to be able to attend the conference this weekend in Boone, NC. I actually hadn't bought a ticket and the conference was sold out. Through a series of events, the church where I attend some women's Bible studies had a ticket available. That ticket is now mine!!! I am excited and looking forward to this weekend. I know the Lord will speak through you to minister to us all. Thank you for allowing God to work through you!!!
I wanted to give a shout out to all my sisters and ask for prayer. I am leading Daniel at my church tonight. We start the intro session. I led it last summer and it was wonderful. We have so many women signed up PRAISE THE LORD. Please pray for God to show up and that the women will come, be hungry, be fed, and be changed forever. PLEASE PRAY that they will stay committed!!! THANKS SO MUCH! Please pray for me I was up all night in the ER with my man which makes 3 weeks of sickness for all of us and many trips to the hospital.
love jenny williams
Dearest Sister,
You will find no better enchiladas or places to nap than in our fine state of NM! Come back any time!
Well, Siesta,
That is too funny. I know I've told you this MANY MANY MANY TIMES before but I just want you to know that I love you so very much. Someone told someone else on Saturday that I was "fixated on Beth Moore." My response was...I am who I am because of her love for Jesus and the Word. I wanted what you have and I got it.
love you dear siesta,
Kristi
Why didn't we adopt the tradition of siestas anyway? I'm sure all of us Sistas could use a siesta as your spell-check suggested! Enchiladas sound good too!
your tired & hungry Sista,
Kathleen
vsThat sounds like something you would call and tell a girlfriend. Only this is better. I just love you Beth and this blog. The Albuquerque Commissioning spoke to me clearly today.Thank you for reminding me to watch my mouth.
I guess I'll be having red beans and rice next week in New Orleans. Sistas, please pray for our VBS team as we go there and share the good news with the children, May 25-June 2.
There may not be time for a siesta until we are are on the church bus coming home. That's OK.
I know my Sistas will pray and that comforts my heart. Thanks, gang!
HAHA! Mama Beth, I was just listening to your study on the book of Jonah--the first session calld "A Sudden Mood for Tarshish Food". You were talking about Jonah having the "sudden urge" to flee to Tarshish...to what would today be an area of Spain...which made you think Spanish food...which made you think Mexican food..
..and then I get online and read about enchiladas. HAHA..I love your dedication to such matters. :) You're a hoot :D
Beth,
I am in prayer and searching for a ticket to see you at Living Proof live in Boone, NC. I have seen you the last 2 times and nothing brings me closer to GOD!!! Its the closest thing to heaven on earth to me!! It feel as though Jesus is really there. It gets me throught another year. But I missed out on the tickets!!! Does anyone have an extra ticket they are not using??
thanks
Sandra Snarski
Suddenly I know what I will fix for dinner tonight. A feast for the mouth after I feast on the Word of the Lord this evening.
Annette
Precious Beth,
All this talk about Mexican food is so not fair! As a transplanted Texan into an area near New Orleans, there's an abundance of seafood but the closest decent enchilada is a couple of hours away. I go thru withdrawals several times a month! So please, order an xtra enchilada (and of course the guacamole, chips & salsa) and enjoy them for me! And take an extra-long nap too!
I'll be praying for you and all my other sistas who will be in Boone this weekend. I know God will show up BIG in your behalf.
Love you, girlfriend!
Linda
haa haa haa THAT'S FUNAAAYY.
That could actually preach though. Siesta's are powerfully revitalizing and enhance the memory and uplift the crankies. However, enchalada's (though relleno's are my fav) can make me just as hap as a nap. :D
Much Love,
Kate
Beth, next time you're in So. California stop by my house. I make the best enchiladas [pronounced with the Mexican accent:)] this side of Texas! I can hear the Mariachi band now!! Getting hungry!
Take that nap andenjoy it. I have taken one almost every monday afternoon as we have been studying Daniel" I need the rest so my mind can process all I am learning and being challenged by. Daniel is my favorite book in the bible, and this study has taught me so much more. God bless you,Beth. Thanks for this wonderful study.
Becky
For ladies going to LPL in Boone this weekend:
If anyone needs hotel rooms, I just canceled some at the Country Inn and Suites in Boone! We had cancelations, so I had more rooms than I needed! Can't wait to see everyone there! I am so ready I may not sleep from now until Friday night!! I love you, sweet Beth, and we are praying for God to show up in a mighty way!
I'd love to have an enchilada and then a siesta on your back porch, Dear Beth!
I need to brag on Jesus for a minute about a fellow blogger! Connorcolesmom came all the way from Georgia to Alabama to bring a fellow sister to the Daniel Bible study. YOU have no idea how much this spoke to my heart. She drove all that way just so her friend would come. That is Jesus people!!! That is how much she wanted to bring her friend to the well to drink deep! Glory!!
I met her on this blog and she came and brought 2 others with her! PRAISE HIM!!!
DUDE! You've got to be one of the funniest people I know (I sooo DON'T know you, but I FEEL like I do!)I'm a Texan by marriage, but a New-Mexican by birth - so I'm LOVING the Spanish on the spell check! I was blessed by my sweet Mama to be able to attend the ALB conference with she and my sisters-in-law! It was TOTALLY GREAT and I cried through the entire thing (all good, godly crying:)) When I returned back to TX, I could hardly stand myself - so I got together a group of ladies and we flew out to OMAHA!! WOW! How incredible was that?!? I feel like I was in Bible class a few weeks ago (ALB) and that I came back for the next class in OMAHA! When you picked back up in Phil 4 after having been in Phil 2, I thought "well of course you are!" God is WAY cool like that! I cannot believe I had the opportunity to be blessed sooo much in two short weeks! I'm still on 'system overload'! My husband is wondering how I can talk for soooo many hours about 2 conferences that were a finite number of hours! God is soooo good! Thank you for serving him like this! - Rebecca in TX
I love you, Mama Beth. You too, Amanda. I feel like God gave your family to me as a special gift. Remind me to thank God again for ya'll. You are precious.
I love your sense of humor. Thank you for glimpses into your life.
Kim
I call them dolla friends for your sista. loved reading about it, wish we could have some Beth in South Africa how about visiting the dolla's here? love always me
The Journey Continues~
I wish I was taking a siesta since it is 2:20 AM in California! It is my youngest son's last day of high school and I am feeling so many things right now. Food does sound good even at 2:20 AM :)
My heart has been touched by what you have been experiencing this year too. My son, will be singing a solo at his baccalaureate. ( is that spelled right Sista?) He will be singing "Remember Me" by
Mark Schultz. Beth Thank you for your continued journey to " Carry the Light" for so many. Keith, thanks for sharing your precious one with us.
With " Heaven Bound" blessings,
Kim Safina ~ Exeter, CA.
YAWN !!!!! HUNGER !!!
I sure hope you are getting a few siestas these days! Life has been quite a roller coaster for you the past few months--I'm sure we're not even aware of half of it. You have shared the grief as well as the great joys with us. In the midst of all this you've continued your conference and speaking schedule! Wow! Plus you gave us a great red bird blog spiritual story! So I hope you have some good vacation time coming up! May God's grace and strength continue to sustain you. I will be praying for you especially this weekend while you're in Boone! Be sure to have Travis take you for a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway! Drink sweet tea and have a Carolina cheesburger--mustard, slaw, and chili--onions too if you want it "all the way". Oh yes instead-have a Cheerwine--NC cherry softdrink! Ok, I better stop! I'm getting homesick! Please know we're lifting you up from afar!
What I wouldn't give for some good Texas Mexican with you and Amanda! That's so cute about the siestas. I guess spell check hasn't caught up with our cute "sistas" name. :)
Just needed to tell you Beth, you totally rock! I love your sense of humor! You are an incredible example of authenticity to the body of Christ. Thanks for keeping it real! <3
Salty Siesta Here!
You really make me hungry for some chips and cheese dip. Icy Coke, and a chimichanga with fajita chicken.
Oh, thats funny, dontcha love it when a mistype works?!
I am truly blessed among siestas, everyone.....I know, Beth, you have a n event planned in Providence, RI in August. I was, at the present time, unable to afford to attend.
At church last Sunday, my dear sister in Christ Kathleen walked past me and dropped a ticket in my lap! I have a feeling a few women were involved in this plan...
Praise God and see y'all in Providence!

Mexican food is one of our many common grounds!
Beth and Travis
Thank you for a glorious night tonight at LPL here in "Da Burgh"
I was sitting in front row opposiste side of the keyboard. I was also the one that stood up for the prayer due to storms.
This is a perfect topic. I been through "Perfect storm" about 4 years back when I was hit on all sides. Blessed be your name and Casting Crowns "Praise you in this storm" where the songs that helped me through to keep in touch with God in the pain.
I am soo looking forward to tomorrow as well. I pray I get to be on the floor again tomorrow. I am leaving early to try to be there. Thank you for coming to our city. I have not checked the news yet, My teenager told me the Penquins won. :) The irony of it all to show true sisterhood. Where I was sitting I had another Penquin fan to my left and two Detroit ladies on my right. LOL
I praise GOD for using you soo mightly. TY for being a willing vessel for HIM. Both you and Travis and all who travel with you.
Shelly
