Word from Columbia, S.C.

Our weekend got started with a bang tonight. There were crazy storms going through our area and the Jones family, eighty-pound golden retriever included, spent an exciting hour taking cover in the church basement. I was pretty freaked out with the tornado sirens wailing and all, but once we got down there I calmed down. Jackson and Beckham had a big time exploring a new space together. The storm just missed us, but I'm sad to say there are some other families in the area who are having to pick up the pieces tonight.

I just heard from our friend Rich who is at the Living Proof Live event in Columbia, South Carolina, this weekend. (Rich is the one who so faithfully provides the recap videos for us.) Here's what he had to say:

Amanda, here is a photo from tonight that you might want to post on the
blog for the sisters that are praying for this event. I have been to many
events like (58 I think) and I have never felt so much of the presence of
the Lord as in the arena this afternoon.

Praise the Lord!

Holy Smokes. I know that is a bit of randomness. God is good. Look at all those women who are there seeking to learn their Father. I love it. Can you imagine the way that he loves it?

Amanda,

I was just thinking of you as I was watching The Weather Channel and they were saying what a hit Texas is taking! I'm glad you are safe and will pray for those you mentioned.

What a beautiful picture from SC! I was just thinking through something that I want to write on my blog. I keep hearing the scripture Hebrews 2:9 that begins with "But we see Jesus..." In all of our circumstances, let's just stop and say, no matter what..."But we see Jesus...." I look at this picture and see thousands of women stopping to just see Him for a moment in time.

Blessings,
Dori

I grew up in Kansas. After a while a person gets use to the sirens. I just imagined them to be the trumpet of the Lord coming to get us. I Thes. 4:16. I now live in Texas. Where Rita made a direct hit. I work for the Sheriffs department and we had to remain in the downtown county jail for the storm. I remember getting off work at 11pm going to my cot area. And as I prepared for bed I remember praying. "Lord, when the diciples woke you up in the stormy seas you told the storm to be calm. I am claiming that prayer now. And if I am going to die tonight could it be while I sleep." I crawled onto my bunk and slept peacefully through the whole event. And God answered my prayer. The storm went from a Cat. 5 to a Cat 3.
I will continue to keep you and all the participants in my prayers this weekend.

Thank you God for churches with basements!!! Glad you are all safe. Will be praying for those less fortunate and for Columbia. Wahoo...what a crowd today! Our golden once tore up a bunch of my mom's pretty dresses in a bad storm. He was terribly afraid. We didn't have a basement and he was all alone.

The Journey Continues~
NO one, nor any disaster, can snatch us out of The ONE AND ONLY'S
hands. ( John 10:28-29) and by the way, Luke 2 tells the story of Joseph and Mary as they searched for a shelter for Mary to deliver JESUS. They found a place with the animals. So, Jackson was comforted with your golden retriever just the way Jesus was with the animals. You are teaching Jackson to love. The character of our children tomorrow depends on what we put into their hearts today. Jackson will be comforted by JESUS,animals, family and friends no matter what storm lies ahead.

God does work in mysterious ways Amanda.....In the early hours of the morning I had one of those dreams that seem like your awake kind.....I'm sure now it was that event I saw as the arena had the stage in the middle just like the one in the photo and there seemed to be a thick fog over the people and now I believe that was the presence of Our God as well. I am reminded of the scripture vs. the Lord gave me for your mom when she spoke here at the Seattle event at OCC.
"ARISE, SHINE, FOR YOUR LIGHT HAS COME, AND THE GLORY OF THE LORD RISES UPON YOU. SEE, DARKNESS COVERS THE EARTH AND THICK DARKNESS IS OVER THE PEOPLES, BUT THE LORD RISES UPON YOU AND HIS GLORY APPEARS OVER YOU. IS. 60:1-2.

I woke with this dream heavy in my spirit and will continue to pray that God's Glory is revealed in a very POWERFUL way and that many captives would be set free and hearts forever changed because someone was so willing to shine their light into a dark place first.

I love you guys sooo....much, what you are doing is changing lives for ALL eternity!! Thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart!!

Wow! What an incredible meeting in Columbia, SC! I just wanted to leave Beth a little note to say that God used her this weekend in ways she will never know on this earth. Several months ago I emailed LPM and requested prayer for my niece, Hannah Sobeski. At the time she was at M. D. Anderson fighting a very aggressive cancer, sarcoma. Your ministry so graciously posted Hannah's caringbridge website to your site for prayer. Hannah celebrated her 18th birthday on September 12, 2006 and on November 9th she received the ultimate healing. Hannah's mother and I (along with several women from my church) were at the conference this weekend. James 1!?? Count it all joy?? Oh, my goodness. The reality of how God molded us through the six month battle and now continues to paint beautiful colors as He prepares us for the final masterpiece. We trust Him completely and know that He chose to take Hannah to build our relationship with Him. The entire journey was not about whether or not God could heal cancer. Of course He can! But He chose not to. This journey was about building our relationships with Him. Thank you, Beth for the powerful reminder that God is painting a beautiful picture. May I get carpet fibers in my nostrils as I seek His face for healing! We love LPM! Travis and the praise team were outstanding as well! Please visit our website to check out all that God is doing through Hannah's life and death. www.hannahshopeministries.org.

In Christ...

I was given a glimpse in Columbia, SC, this weekend of what it must be like in heaven. Lifting the Lord's name with song and praise with 17,000 of your sisters is an experience I will never forget. Beth, I was filled with such joy watching you sing with pure enthusiasm on stage with Travis and the band Friday night. I left the coliseum wondering how I had not known or somehow missed that you performed musically with your praise team. It tickled me, however, on Saturday, when I observed you turning your microphone OFF before singing with your team on stage! Was this a kind, friendly suggestion from your good friend, Travis?!! Thanks for being a living example of how to love Jesus with complete abandon.

Joni
"...then cleansed my Soil, my Savior God to thee, How great thou ART, How great thou ART....."
Clean soil turns into great art! I will sing my favorite hymn with new words and new meaning after this weekend!!!

I'm just wondering if anyone can recall - or if Beth would allow - us to get a copy of the words we spoke over one another at the end. My friend had to leave 1/2 way thru the last session to get her daughter - with much angst -and I'd LOVE to be able to speak those words over her!!! Just a sidebar - God spoke to me so clearly this weekend because I had a HORRIBLE argument with someone who accused me of being fake. God in His infinite goodness affirmed for me in those last words that I AM NOT A FAKE! Thank you Beth for heeding His Word!! (my loved one and I repented to the Father and each other by the way!) Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

PS Amanda - PDLAM but I have to start up the stairs on the right foot or I feel like I'm gonna fall over!

I just have to say to you Beth that "I got it"! I am back home in Georgia from the awesome work that our Lord performed in SC. I can hardly put my experience into words. All I can say is that surely the Lord was in that place this weekend. You spoke directly to me so many times. I wouldn't have enough room to share it all. Please just know that I thank God that I was able to be there and to be a part of such a heavenly appointed time on this earth. I knew that I was at a divine appointment when you said that you would be teaching from the wonderful book of James. It is most definitely one of my favorite books in His word. God has shown me so many truths in that book even before this weekend. I just smiled when you first said it. I have smiled and cried and cried and smiled so many times during the past 2 days. Please tell Travis that my tears began first thing Friday afternoon during his invitation to stand. I stood during his prayer and tears began to stream. The Lord spoke to my heart then and during the rest of our time together. What an amazing and awesome God we serve! On the ride home with the ladies that I attended the event with, including my mama, I shared something with them about how much crying I did this weekend. Most of the crying was from feeling such a release and freedom and some was from just feeling so unworthy. I praise God for the grace that He showered upon me. I do NOT deserve it!! But, I DO accept it because it is a gift from my Lord. He often reminds me that He is the Potter and I am the clay and that in order for the Potter to mold and shape the clay, the clay needs to be wet and moistened so that it doesn't dry out, crack and break into pieces. So I will cry on because I know that through the multicolored trials and especially the ones that bring the pain and tears, He is molding and shaping me and I will be that masterpiece that you descrubed so well when I cross that line the day He calls me home.
Beth, thank you for being who you are in Christ Jesus. I love you.

You are such a hoot!!

We just concluded the Women of Faith conference in Little Rock a few hours ago. The weekend provided much laughter and reflection, and the torrential rain and hail. But through it all, God's grace flowed like the Arkansas River. There were many lives touched by the message of forgiveness and freedom. I am thankful that your group was protected from the storm, as was our's. God is definitely at work among our nation's women. Even in the midst of the storm, He prevails!

Hi Amanda,
I'm so glad that you and your family made it safely through the storms.

I was in Columbia this weekend - Yaaaaaaaaaahoo-Jah! It was an amazing weekend. My best friend and I from Alabama took our annual best friend get-away there and met up with my Columbia best friend from when I lived there 28 years ago and we had a blast!

The conference was amazing from the fun songs about friends, to the PDLAM's shared, to the awesome times of praise and worship, to the very annointed message on dealing with trials. I laughed alot, cried alot, and left feeling so very equipped to deal with my trials standing up, chest out, head lifted high trusting God to complete the masterpiece of my life. Yaaaaaaaahooo-Jah.

I wish you and Jackson could have been there so we could see you in person, but we saw precious pictures and the pure delight on Beth's face as she showed those pictures of her little manchild.

I'm still working on my PDLAM's which I'll be glad to share if I come up with something. Mostly I do crazy things (alot) very unplanned.

I love your family and thank you for sharing with your sistas.
Love ya,
Dianne

PTL!PTL!PTL! I received such a blessing this weekend. Thank you Beth, for bringing God's word to us and for being obedient to HIM!!! I brought so much home from this conference, but I think what will stick with me the most is that, "every victory will take courage and make courage." [Be strong, keep going and don't give up!!!] May God continue to bless this ministry!!!

P.S. I loved the special "affects" DSFX! :0)

Working on my masterpiece!!!

WOW OH WOW!!!! Beth, I GOT IT in Columbia, SC. The "emotional tugging" video was used by God to picture so clearly me and my Father. I MUST allow Him to peddle me because I cannot walk it off. What can't I walk off? My flesh suit of 400 pounds. I can hardly walk. Yet I keep eating. WHY, I have cried many nights into my pillow, do I keep eating. Like you said, OBVIOUSLY because I WANT TO. Well, no more! I wanted so desperately to be down front with my friends serving as an encourager........but my weight and immobility prevented it.

I was at the LPM Columbia Conference. It was a Spirit filled time. I went with 27 others from Greenville, SC. I could feel the presence of God. Beth had the Spirit all over her. I remember her comment about the self-loathing she takes part in after a session through self-doubt, but added she came up short this time b/c we wouldn't leave the arena on Friday night. Glad we could extend our Southern hospitality and minister to her. I was most touched by her praise and worship with us after each session. As many times as I have seen her, that was new to me. It just made her more real, like a fellow soujourner, and not just our beloved teacher. Her testimony gives us hope that we can break the cycle of going in and out of the pit. As much as I got from the conference, my 5 year was a bit disappointed that I didn't learn that I should no longer paddle her. That was her charge to me before I left and her first question when I returned. May God Bless you Beth, and one day I'd love to sit down with some chips and salsa and chat with you.

I'm not going to tell the story of how I got to go to see Beth this weekend, because I know one of my 5 sisters that went with me can tell the amazing story much more eloquently than I can - but I would like to share one funny story. My friends and I had known about this Living Proof event since September and were ALL PUMPED UP about the six of us road tripping up to South Carolina. Unfortunately, we dragged our feet and by the time we went to buy tickets, they were all sold out. Obviously we were devastated. I saw my boyfriend later that day and with the saddest face whined, "Beth Moore sold out." He looks at me totally sympathetically and says, dead serious, "Why, what'd she do?" He didn't realize I was talking about the event. He thought Beth herself had sold out. I laughed so hard I nearly wet my pants.

Good news is, God is good and literally provided exactly 6 tickets and we got to have our amazing road trip.

Thank you, Beth, for the amazing talk. God had a specific word for each of us this weekend. The DSFX concept BLEW MY MIND. I still tear up thinking about it. God is so good! I left Columbia yesterday more in love with Jesus and more awed at the sheer hugeness of God than when I came on Friday.

Love you so much!!

Praise the LORD, what a wonderful time of worship in Columbia this weekend. This is my second LPM conference. The Spirit of the LORD was definitly in the place. I brought my aunt with me she had never been to any event as large as 17,000. Talked to her today she said it still seems like it was all a dream it was so great. But the great news is it's a real and true. I will take what I learned and continue with my Jesus on the journey. You rock Beth!!!

I just had to leave another comment to say that I've been telling all my friends at church today that I wasn't sure why the other 16,999 of you all came to SC because Beth could've been calling my name out at the beginning of her sentences! The Lord was using her mouth to speak STRAIGHT to me and it just cracks me up to see Him do that for each one of us!! He's so AWESOME!!

My life will certainly NEVER be the same and I'm so glad because the same wasn't nearly enough!

Thank you Beth for following our Lord. Thank you Keith for supporting her and praying for me! Thank you Melissa, Amanda, Kurt and that sweet baby manchild for sharing your momma and your lives with all of us! The Lord is honored by Your lives!!

YOU GO GOD!!!!!!

What a let down! Rising to the Throne of Grace and then ariving home, where the only throne is in desparate need of attention! I have been in the AWESOME presence of the Holy Spirit for the past 24 hours and had "a Lot of Want to" stay. This weekend was full of humongous juicy bites of Holy Spirit wisdom. Just trying to mentally process all the God Stuff Beth so wonderfully prepared and shared. Thank you for being faithful to the mission of sharing Christ with the world. Bless you and your work, Living Proof Team!

Wow! That is a powerful picture! I like the new blog. I am currently studying The Patriarchs and am about half way through. Girls, if you haven't done this study yet it is a must! The video segment of 6 or 7 is so powerful! Beth is sharing how someone who hurt her doesn't "get" how much they hurt her. It was so healing to me! The people who hurt us, on purpose or accident, may never know how deeply we are affected BUT God gets it. I felt healing in my heart that night. I am so grateful for Beth's honesty and openess about her experiences with people and with God. God's wonderfulness constantly amazes me! Glory to HIS name!
:) Susan
Keep up the good work, Beth and LPM! Please come out to southern California!

My husband and I celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary on Saturday at the conference in Columbia, SC. God's message from James 1 spoken through Beth was powerful! The perfect ending was holding hands, looking into each other's eye and promising to support and encourage each other as we continue to grow and become completed masterpieces in our Father's plan.

The Columbia, SC event was incredible! Is there a video of the event available for purchase?

Nine of us were there with 17,000 other women, worshiping with the Praise Team and Travis Cottrell (they rocked the house)and drinking in Beth's message from the Lord (she was awesome)! Each one of us think of Beth as a precious friend; after all, we have studied the Bible with her for years...she just doesn't know our faces.

Beth came to give someone keys to God's freedom....thank you Beth, forever, for those keys. Trials come and go, but it is in our trials that our faith grows and we are closest to God. Just as we were fed spiritually so generously this weekend, I pray, Beth, that God will refresh you in ways beyond your imagination and continue to bless your ministry one hundred fold! I can't wait for you to come our way again.
God bless always,

Beth,

I cannot begin to thank you for you overwhelming obedience to God by being such a great inspiration and teacher of His word. You said this weekend that some had come not expecting to feel and that hit home to me. I have been so far away from Him for so long and it was I who have jumped back in the pit time after time. I cried like a child when you spoke of knowing what it was like to go five days, five months, etc. and I thought- that is where I am. Distraction, Addiction, Distruction. Can I tell you that you even made eye contact with me when you spoke this? Thank you for helping me back on my path towards Him and reminding me that He never stopped loving me. Stacie

I too have just returned from Columbia. We had 15 women driving from Columbus, Ga (5 hour drive) anxious to hear what God had to say to us this weekend. Over half of us had not been to a LPL conference before and 3 of us were over 60. We all talked nonstop on the way up about what we wanted and needed God to tell us. As soon as we arrived at our hotel I could not stop smiling. The prescence of the LORD was all over the city and the joy of the LORD was so evident. We had such an amazing time Friday and Sat and at lunch Sat we all shared our favorite moment (mine was watching the special needs area and seeing how they worhshipped their father - one lady with cerebral palsey clapped to the music with a huge smile on her face and such joy in her heart - so touching). God spoke such sweet personal messages to each of us. We are each such better people because of what God showed us this weekend. I am eternally thankful for Beth's obedience to God's calling on her life.
Oh and we are still laughing over the lady and her inside out underwear - don't you love how God has made us all so different!!! HE HE

Amanda I am so thankful you and the family are ok - it was definitely some nasty weather.
God bless you sistas

PDLAM stands for Please don't laugh at me, but...... Then you fill in the weird thing that you do. Beth used this as an ice-breaker as we shared (and LAUGHED) with each other.

DSFX means Divine Special Effects. Beth showed a video clip of some amazing special effects that man has created and talked about how those can't hold a candle to the DIVINE SPECIAL EFFECTS that God is creating in the masterpieces of our lives. It was awesome. I have never been one to get into those special effect movies, but WOW OH WOW!!! To think of the special effects that God is creating in my life. WOW!!!

Dear Mrs. Moore,

I just wanted to say thank you for being transparent before us. Your praise of the Father so moved me. I felt like you were going to burst if you didn't let it out. Thank you for that demonstration of over flowing love for Him.

As you were giving the words we were to speak over each other a dear lady fell and got her leg stuck. About a dozen of us missed it. If you could please post those words we would love to be able to that.

Thank you for the love you have for us and the Father.

Wow! What an awesome time in Columbia! I just want to shout thinking about it or put my i-pod on and conduct an orchestra! Tammie Fay, a PDLAM you may not want, DSFX you definitely do! A PDLAM stands for this, Please don't laugh at me, but..... and you fill in the blank with something crazy about you! DSFX stands for divine special effects. The things that God does in our lives that we cannot even comprehend and the things the angels/demons see as the story of our lives unfold and as they are cheering/jeering us on. As Beth says someday in Heaven we will all see the DVD with our special effects and musical scores! If not she promises to make a public apology! :) Hope that helps!

I too, was in Columbia this weekend and ,Oh how sweet the aroma of pure worship! Beth, I absolutely LOVE you and I know that every single woman in that arena feels that they know you on a personal level. There were times that I felt like you were looking directly at me! My story is not as tragic as the ones that you mentioned, yet to me it is a tsunami at times. May I never fail to stand with my face to heaven and proclaim my utter and complete trust in Faithfullness Himself! Please, Please, please come back again! I would also like to know if there is going to be a DVD or audio of the event. It was too wonderful not to share! I can completely relate to all of those voices in my head that just need to 'sit down and SHUT UP!' So funny!

BTW, my PDLAM was I only like to eat egg Mcmuffins WITHOUT the egg. Just one of many that I have.

I love you my sista, and I cannot wait to worship the Master alongside you again!

This was my first LP LIVE event. WOW!! The last time I was in the Colonial Center was Decemeber when I received my master's degree from USC. Being among such a large group of women sincerely praising our Lord and Saviour was by far more memorable than walking across the stage to get my diploma. After session one Saturday morning I felt like Beth knew my life story. I thought maybe someone had written her a letter explaining my situation. I thank God for the prayers lifted up by LP staff over this conference. I was able to go at the last minute because someone else couldn't make it. I know GOD arranged my being there. The message God laid on your heart was exactly what I needed. I am in the process of deep spiritual and emotional healing due to past hurts, habits and hang ups. I praise God for the victory HE has brought into my life and marriage. Thanks Beth for obeying God's call on your life. Pray for me and my husband as we continue to daily surrender to Gods will for our lives. We want to serve HIM. We owe HIM everything for the miracle HE has worked in our marriage and family. Blessings to all LP staff!

Well...I didn't see a bear but I can say, "DE-LIGHT!!!DE-LIGHT!!!"
I was in Columbia and I was the loud one whom called out "Teach on, Beth!!!" Believe me when I say that MOST of us would have stayed as long as you would have teached! We could have also sang for a couple of hours. PLease include the song "Alive, Alive, Alive, Hallelujah" on a CD! It is so powerful. I think the highlight of the event was watching Beth during the Praise & Worship time...her love for the Lord is unbelievable.

I was so blessed by your conference in Columbia this past weekend. I have just finished my first Bible study ever (Daniel). Having done that and then following up by hearing Beth so eloquently teach the lessons of the first chapter of James----well, what can I say? I feel like my whole perspective on life has changed. I see the big picture so much clearer now! Thank you, Beth, for all the work you do to present His Word in such multi-dimensional format. The words just seem to come alive when you teach them.

I attended your conference with my sister who has been blind since birth (she is now 48). If requested in advance, could she have received the program that was provided to all participants in braille? Just wondering.

I feel so blessed to have come to know Beth and experienced the joy that comes from being a Christian who is 100% in love with Jesus!

ccvI don't even know where to start..... This is a long post, but very worth reading how the Lord did MIRACLES!
Going to Columbia to see LPL has been a much anticipated event for my dear friends and myself. One of my friends, Danielle, lost her 6 year old son in a car accident on Jan. 6th and this was her first "outing" since the tragedy. We had been praying earnestly about going for a good month. Friday morning I was packing and had put my persciption meds in my purse on top of the couch. I came in my living room to find my 2 year old with both bottles (Ambien and Lexapro)and most of the pills gone. I had to call 911 and the ambulance rushed us to the hospital. I was desperately praying to the Lord to save my son as this felt like an all too familiar nightmare we were still living since Jack has passed away. In God's great and amazing mercy, I felt him assuring me that Rylen would be fine and after thorough evaluation, the Dr. said that he was going to be okay. I KNOW he took at least 6-10 Ambien and about as many Lexapro. The Dr. and EMT stated that this should have shut down his respitory system and killed him. After being released from the ER, I felt the Lord still calling me to go to Columbia. I knew I wanted to, but didn't know about leaving my son. After prayer with my husband and dear friend, I decided the Lord was telling me to GO and he had Rylen in his hands. I don't think I have ever been that over powered by the Spirit. When I finally got to Columbia and in the Arena, the Spirit of God was all over me. The message and music were so powerful. I felt the Lord was asking me to go to the altar and thank him for healing me son. Well, there was no alter call, so I took it upon myself to make my way down from the nosebleeds to the front and get on my knees and thank God for what he had done for my son. I alarmed Beth's body guard too! So my new PDLAM is that I was the ONLY one to go down front in a crowd of 17,000 women! I had to go and the peace I felt after that was like no other.

Danielle was blessed beyond belief with the messages. I can't think of any trial more challenging than loosing a child. To watch her worship the Lord in such terrible times is something that will be with me forever. If anyone is interested in hearing her testimony, you can find it in Itunes at "Spartanburg Community Church" and it is in the Longing for Home women's study. I took a copy for Beth and hope she received it. So amazing to hear how God is working after such a deep loss.
God is good and his healing power is as real today as it was 2000 years ago.

I just wanted to thank you for the wonderful conference and experience I personally encountered in Columbia. I truly was touched and my life has changed. I felt empty when I arrived but my cup runneth over now. I feel the Lord all around me and he has once again added color to my portrait. I have shared this with so many because it means so much to me because for the first time in my life I feel that I am just a masterpiece in progress and well one day it will be complete and it will be a worthwhile trip. Thank you and please plan on coming back next year. We need you!!!!!!!!!!!!
