In case you don't have your secret decoder ring nearby, here's the key to those abbreviations: PDLAM - Please don't laugh at me DSFX - Divine special effects
I've been sitting in class just bouncing between the absolute giggles and tears today. I cannot get it together, but I think I'm okay with that....May we never get over who He is....
PS - Amanda...I so wish you could've been there to see what a hit the pdlam's were.
not to be a downer, after all of these amazing God-posts, but in case you haven't heard, there was a shooting at Virginia Tech today...21 students combined were killed at a dorm and classroom building. i have a few friends that go to VT and haven't heard from them yet...
i go to carolina and as soon as i heard it brought back memories of the day that someone drove an SUV through the "Pit" (our main campus hang-out) during the busiest time of the day. wow is the ENEMY ever out there. i can only imagine what these other college students and their families are now facing. please be in prayer for all those who are involved...
Sweet Beth, Travis, Praise Team, Living Proof and Life Way Ministries (and your families!)...from the depths of my soul, thank you for being clay yielded to the Potter's Hand. You planned every detail you could in advance, you studied, you rehearsed, you showed up, you made yourselves available, you prayed ...and the Holy Spirit descended! How overwhelmed I was by 17,000 people in one place standing in worship together and receiving a POWERFUL fresh breath exhaled over us from our Heavenly King!
His was a word for our day and for the coming days. He is readying His Bride. May He find us standing firmly on the Rock as we watch and pray.
I am so grateful for the image of DSFX - I needed a reminder of the unseen battles that rage over us and the witnesses that surround us, cheering us on. No matter how alone we feel in the midst of our trials...we are NOT ALONE.
And I needed the powerful challenge to be a poietes!
The handful of people out of the 17,000 in attendance in Columbia that I personally know have been impacted in huge ways! And just think of the ripple effect...
"In Christ alone my hope is found He is my light, my strength, my song This cornerstone, this solid ground Firm through the fiercest drought and storm!"
Blessed be HIS name! This video brought back wonderful memories of spending time w/ Beth, the crew and thousands of others as we worshiped our Lord togething in Indianapolis in May of 2005! Praise Jesus for the glory in SC! Kristen
Amazing. Beth, are you coming to CA anytime soon? ; )
My best friend and I are planning a girl's celebration trip (we've been friends 20 years next year) and we've joked that we should come to Texas so we can hear you talk.
I think that we may start talking about that a little more seriously after watching that video.
I got online last night to purchase tickets to the Sept conference in Nashville...they are already sold out! I am so disappointed and desperately need/want to go. Could you please, oh please find a way for me to purchase a ticket?
I'm in tears watching that video, and I wasn't even in Columbia to see it live! I so wish I had been. God bless you all!
If you have a few spare hours and want to be really blessed... check out some of the amazing blogs of the women who post comments here. I got sucked in by some very witty, insightful comments... that led me to click on their blogs... that led me to keep reading... and keep reading... and keep reading. What an incredible collection of women! I wish I knew you all in person.
I am so thankful to have a place to write out some thoughts about this weekend...thanks, sistas! How surprised I was when I went to church yesterday morning and found that the sermon was taken from James 1! I must have needed a double dose from God! I told more than one person: "I just heard these same principles Friday night and Saturday...they were just presented much more loudly and much more quickly!" DSFX...yeah, I GET IT! I do have a somber thought, though: A friend of mine took her own life almost a year ago. I feel as though she cut her own DVD short. It wasn't over yet. I don't understand it at all. My heart still grieves, and yet, I know that colors and sounds are being added to my own, as well as her family memebers' heavenly DVDs as a result of this tragedy. Also, I had the opportunity to speak the commission over my sister, who will soon give birth to her first child. I am glad that you will post a copy of the words here...I would like to have it printed for her so that she can remember what I said to her with all my heart as she goes through this wonderful and yet, stressful, life changing event. Beth, thank you for your faithfulness and obedience to God. The impact on the lives of others cannot be underestimated.
I have been praying today that the enemy would not snatch any of the word from the hearts of the women that went to the conference. I pray that the Word would take deep root in each persons life. Bless You!
Beth, What a blessing this weekend was to me and my friend. Both our lives this past few years have been one trial afer another. We felt as though you were speaking directly to us! Family illness and job situations have taken us by storm, but He is faithful and we are watching each day as He continues to paint a masterpiece of our lives.
Thank you so much for sharing what God put on your heart to give us. The Holy Spirit was so thick in that place. We will never forget what we experienced this weekend.
Makes me look even more forward to September Deeper Still in Nashville. We have 36 women from our church coming!
I marvel at your energy! Keep it coming, Sista!!!!!!!!!
He is so PRESENT at these events that I wish desperately that I could go to one every weekend. Thank you for making me--for a few minutes--feel it all over again.
I love that Travis and the worship team more and more....
What a beautiful recap. It was even more beautiful for me because we went back home for Easter and got to attend services at our former (GREATLY missed)church. We sang this song while there (somebody hand me a Kleenex). Blessings, ~Toni~
Thanks Amanda and other sistas who responded to my plea for decoding help! So I do have PDLAM's after all...(won't take the time to share those right now) and praise His wonderful name the DSFX's are so going on right now that even George Lucas himself would be bug-eyed if he could see it!
Thank you, Beth, for a fresh word in due season. Every time I attend LPL, God uses you to confirm what He's already spoken to my heart and then encourage me with further instruction in His Word.
My husband is a pastor, and he has faced very intense criticism in the past 2 weeks that stemmed from nothing but gossip and inaccuracies. We have been deeply hurt as those we thought we could trust are the ones who led the charge. After 18 years in the ministry, I am still caught off guard when this happens, but because of the Word you taught me the past several years, I KNOW there's always a reason for it. God doesn't allow hurting for the sake of hurting. I rejoice with Joseph in that what was meant for evil, God will use for good!
I got the DSFX in a huge way! In fact my Sunday School lesson to my youth group Sunday was on James 1, and I just taught them all I had just learned straight out of my listening guide and the Bible!!
At the end of your message on Saturday, you reminded that we put a name to the reality of God's Word -- like Abraham, Peter, James. Then you said MY name - Michele! I about fell out of my chair as I felt God speak His approval over me and how I've waged this recent battle.
I just can't wait to tell you how much I praise God for you. I hope the birds found their way back to your birdfeeder quickly!
Beth you are my friend. I love the way the Lord speaks through you. I love how excited you are about God! It makes me want to be just as excited! You know you said we are going to "do what we want to do" and I want to serve God with all that I am. I have such wonderful memories of Columbia (and Raleigh) I will never forget them. Oh by the way, My friend Marnie, "the panty girl" absolutely adores you..I dont think she will ever wash her forehead again! We keep counseling her on being humble. She just isn't getting it Beth...hahaha First Christian Church Of Moncks Corner Loves You!!! your friend Jennifer
If I wept this way watching it on GodTube I can only imagine what the experience was like in Columbia! Bless you Miss Beth and Amanda (and Rich) for sharing. Also, Amanda, thanks for the secret decoder ring, I was lost. Every now and then, though, I need a PLAM because I can just be a mess and laughter is so necessary! On a serious note, I prayed for this evening and may God richly bless all in attendance with His sweet, tender presence. Last night my sweet kids in FCA prayed for healing of hearts at Virginia Tech. Teens are just wonderful. They bless me, as do you. Thank you Jesus. In faith and love, Kim from PA
Beth, I signed up to "be" an encourager for the Columbia, SC conference, but instead "received" so much encouragement myself. I have a very hard time "receiving" so when you walked over to me Saturday morning and asked my name, put your hands on my head and told me that Jesus really does love me, it honestly took my breath away. For so much time I haven't been able to receive that love because I felt so undeserving, like I wasn't good enough. I've made so many mistakes, awful mistakes that I just knew God was ashamed of me for. But, it’s like when you walked over to me it was God picking me out of 17,000 women saying, “do you get it now, Courtney. I do love YOU!”
Beth, thank you for being so sensitive to the Holy Spirit and allowing him to use you. He totally spoke to me through your taking that time to speak to me. I still get chills and cry my eyes out as I picture my God centering in on me in that way.
Beth, I was in SC this past weekend and I got to finally see you for the first time live. I am a senior in college and I know that God worked it out so that I could be there. I was so blessed by you, Travis and the praise team. I have been a singer my whole life but the music this weekend and your message really touched my heart. You have a gift and I can't wait untill next time I get to see yall again! Thank you so much for teaching me more about the word and Jesus Christ. I am always praying for you and your team! Say one for me too cause I am graduating in December! YAYAY!!! Thank you so much again! Lindsey- Asheville NC PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!!!
I was so grateful for the clips of the Columbia event. I had to miss because my beloved cat, Lola, developed a malignant tumor and had to be euthanized that morning. Having to miss Living Proof Live when I needed encouragement so badly was a double blow. I am still trying to learn to praise the name of the Lord when He takes away. Counting it all joy and standing firm are so much easier said than done. However, through your video, I am able to watch His blessings fall to other people and maintain hope that if He loves other people there is still a chance that He might also care when I hurt. Lolamom
I just wanted to say thank you for an awesome weekend! My 18 year old daughter, Abby came with me. Satan did everything to stop her from coming with her soccer schedule, but God was in control and she was there and loved it! I told Abby that I really think the Holy Spirit gave the charge to Beth for me to be able to tearfully say it to her and hear her say those sweet words to me, and that those other 17,000 women that heard it got to enjoy it as well.(haHa) She is leaving for college in the fall(my trial) and I wanted so badly for her to hear Beth in person. I prayed that God would deliver a fresh word to us both and my oh my how he did! Thank you sooooo much. Abby is dying to order the jacket Beth had on Friday night, is there anyone reading who may know where it came from?

LOL!! I just assumed that was "Praise Da Lord AMen"!!
Thanks for clearing that up. Many of us are not "up" on the new acronyms--We still think of this as a "blob". :-)
Where are my tissues?

What a sweet Spirit in that place...I feel Him here, too, just watching! Now to Be still and know Him, (silence...)

Worship happening in the office right now...Blessed be the name of the Lord.
Thank you for telling me what that meant. I couldn't think of what that could be and I could add alot to the PDLAM. :o)
