We want so much for this blog to be a blessing and not become a source of frustration for those who are seeking specific answers to questions. We have a much better avenue through the Living Proof Web site's contact page. You can also call our office toll free at 1-888-700-1999. Thank you so much!
I'd like to give a HUGE thanks to our ministry director, Sabrina, for laboring over this for THREE DAYS while she had every technical difficulty possible. She's my hero! Thanks, sister!
Thank you so much for this! I'm amazed that you had the time to do this for us. I found it to be VERY helpful and wrote the RENEW acrostic in my little notecard binder.
Thanks again, sister! And thank you so much, Sabrina! What a tremendous blessing to find it on my Google Reader when I got home from running errands.
This was really helpful! I like how Beth brought up the "Need it" part. AND NOT FOR SOMEONE ELSE!
That was a huge reminder about how we can choose based on wrong motives, and also choose verses blindly that we think might just be a lofty verse to memorize.
What we may really need, is to memorize the simple but profound; because this is for us to wield!
Wow! I have just watched the first segment and two things come to mind: 1)BETH! Those sleeves on your jacket are beautiful!! and 2) We would so have missed the preciousness of you, Beth, if this had been professionally done. We are your daily girls, you can get comfortable with us!
Love you! Love His Word that is currently rocking my world.
Thank you so much Beth! That mini-tutorial was anything but mini and it helped so much! You are a true gift to the Kingdom. Thanks to all the other LPM staffers who helped make it come together too! You all are the best! Blessings...
Mrs. Beth, Thank you so very much for this tutorial. It has helped me so much. I am so excited to be memorizing God's word. I have already memorized my first two verses, Psalm 139:13-14. This scripture was one that I NEEDED. God gave it to me Christmas Day when I found out that my mother did all she could to abort me 51 years ago. Yet God had other plans for my life and I thank Him for that. It was hard news to hear, but God so ministered to me through those scriptures.
On January 15 I will start to memorize the next two verses. (Psalm 139:15-16).
The enemy thought he had gained some ground but he was fooled. God's Word was a healing balm to my hurting heart.
Thank you for the perfect timing of this challenge.
Awesome tutorial! Thanks so much, good ideas - I am going to share with our women's ministry. You all are so awesome in your obedience to God and His word.
I hope that we can talk more about wielding our swords in the future. Beth. This topic alone has whetted my appetite to know how to rightly bear my arms!
Cleaning the house today and decided to see if the post was up yet. The Spirit encouraged me so much through affirming everything you taught in your mini tutorial.
Thank you so much to all for making that possible!
Thank you Sabrina! Sometimes there is no test more difficult than that of technical difficulties! You are much appreciated.
Miss Beth, thank you for taking the time to give us those tips! When I was taking exams for my college courses last semester, I had so many acronyms that i need to make acronyms for the acronyms!! ok, that was exaggerated and i never did that...but there were a lot!
Thanks so much Beth for your dedication to women and your desire to make us women of the word. Looking forward to memorizing verses the rest of the year.
Thank you Beth for this wonderful tutorial. These are helpful tips on how to break down scripture and really begin to soak it in and just not read it. I appreciate you taking the time to do this for us.
And Sabrina, thank you so much for all of your hard work to make this tutorial happen for us. I appreciate your hard work.
Thank you so much for the post...Thanks for taking time out of your busy day to lead us...Thanks to your staff for all their time involved also... I am excited that by the end of the year 24 scriptures will be hidden in our hearts... Love ya!!!!
Thank you Beth and LPM staff for your care over us. I know this blog must take a great deal of time from your day. Thank you so much for ministering to us as you do. The tutorial was so helpful, especially the part about "need it", I needed that :) I think I can say for everyone that we are all JACKED to be a part of such a GOD thing in this New Year. Blessings to you and Many Thanks. Love, Miss Debbie
Let me share with y'all what I've done! I typed up a few notes from Beth's tutorial (see below) in a Word document and printed it out. Then I cut it out and glued/taped it in the front of my spiral bound index card book. Hope this helps! Angela in Tennessee
RENEW - Acrostic for Scripture memorization based on Romans 12:2
“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2 (NIV)
R – Read It (out loud and often) E – Examine It (look for things to help you remember it) N – Need It (be sure it is something you personally need) E – Echo It (read it and echo it back – don’t worry if it’s not perfect) W – Wield It (learn how to use it against the powers of darkness)
Thank you, thank you, thank you! That is so helpful. I love when Beth pointed out to us that we shouldn't beat ourselves up over not getting it right away. The devil knows how dangerous we are going to be to him this year and he will NOT have the victory. I would like to ask all of you that are able to pray for my class that I begin teaching in the new school semester next Tuesday. Several years ago I submitted a cuuriculum to teach the Bible as literature and it was accepted. (thank you Lord) I have a great time teaching it and although I am in a public high school and cannot teach any thing that could be considered doctrine, the Lord has worked miracles. I have had one student who not only came to Christ but after two years has surrendered to the ministry. God is so good. After a year of no one signing up for it, I now have a larger class than ever signed up to begin next Tuesday. I would like to ask that prayer be lifted up on behalf of these young people, for I know if the Lord has worked it out that they can bring Bibles as a textbook in a public school classroom He is up to something glorious. I covet your prayers for me as well as the students. Thank you again Beth, Sabrina and everyone else involved. RENEW on Siesta's!
A phrase that keeps coming to my mind is one I heard from the Newsboys on their Thrive tour in 2002. They were emphasizing Bible literacy, and their catchphrase was "What goes in to a mind comes out in a life." Soooo true. Thanks for the encouragement and all the time and care you invest into us, Beth (and everybody at LPM)! We love you!!
Thank-you for the great tips and the encouragement. I don't know how you do it, Beth, but every time I see you on video I feel like you're speaking to me alone...as if we know each other.
2 things that help me memorize scripture: If the verse(s) have any kind of motion that can be put with a word (a kind of made up sign language) it helps the memory. Your physical body actually helps you remember it that way. OR Write out the key words in a picture puzzle format. Ex. if the word mountain is in the sentence draw a mountain etc. The crazier the pics for each word the more likely you will remember it. Once you have studied it this way then then you can close your eyes and actually see the pics in your mind to help you remember. We used to use the one a lot when my kids were small attending a Christian school and they had memory verses to learn every week.
I love using the indez cards also. I started doing that when I was doing Believeing God and it has stuck with me since. I carry a set in my purse all the time!
Beth, this is great- I'm praying God will supernaturally choose these verses for me so that I will feel his direction and desire for my life at this late age. What a strange situation to be almost 60 and be starting all over with life- thanks for staying so personal with us- Lots of love and blessings
I was thrilled to see that many of the tips you mentioned, in the tutorials, I already employ in my memorization techniques... but the last part about not wielding the sword against people - what a powerful message! Thank you for much needed words... and practical advice! Excited about this journey for 2009!
And THIS is why you are so beloved by so many, Beth. Thank you and your amazing staff and family for bearing the burden to make the Word of God accessible and joyous to us.
Thank you Beth... What an exciting condept; learning how to wield our swords correctly. IT is just resonating deep down in my soul!!! It is true just as a soldier is taught how to properly bear their arms, so should we be properly trained as God's soldiers to bear our arms and rightly by NOT wrestling against flesh and blood but by defeating the rulers of darkness and spiritual wickedness.
I enjoyed the mini-tutorial. Thank you to all who laboured to bring it to pass. This memorizing scripture is getting more exciting by the minute...can't wait to see what is next. You all (everyone on here) are just too MUCH FUN!! I enjoy reading everyone's posts immensely!
I loved the tutorial. I live in the mountains in Montana. In the winter it is just to hard to get out in the snow at night after work, so I do bible study by myself( I used to do it with my neighbor but she moved) . Long story short I just ordered Ester and I got the audio cd to go with it. It was nice to see You Face to face , insteed of just listen.
I just had to share a funny story with you! The other night at dinner, I was telling my parents and my brother that I was going to be joining with the siestas over the next year to memorize 2 Scriptures a month. (They were excited about it, and I hope they will sign up, too!) Anyway, they asked me what verse I had chosen for the first round. I tried my best to recite what I had memorized so far. My Scripture this time is Isaiah 55:10-11 in the New Living Translation. My mom then tried to repeat back what I had said, but what came out was more of her own paraphrase. My dad looked at all of us w/ a deadpan expression and said, it's the Southern Living Translation. I got the biggest kick out of that.
Beth, thank you so much for taking precious time out of your day to help us learn our scriptures. I will make sure my WOW girls watch this to help them as well! What a labor of love! Lisa
Thank you Beth and Sabrina for all the time and energy you put into this mini-tutorial! It was so helpful and, just like Dori, I wrote it in my notecard binder.
And I echo what Holly said: We praise the Lord that this wasn't professionally done! We like the real, everyday you-- "rough cut" and all (which seemed pretty professional to me!).
We sure do love you and your whole ministry team! Thank you for all that you do!!!! We're going to do this thing!
Thanks to you and your staff for a good word and teaching in due season. I was already starting to stress about the 15th and adding a new scripture, but your tips will make this adventure a blast! We can do this thing.
thanks for taking the time to do this and for Sabrina for sticking with it to get it out to all of us siestas! it is much appreciated! I have wrote down RENEW in my notecards as well to help me remember. We were supposed to start our first session of Esther today but unfortunantly we had to cancel it due to extreme rains here in Washington state. Lots of flooding around here! We may need to build an Ark before long!! Didn't get to watch Esther video but i did get a mini lesson today :) thanks again God Bless!
Thank you, Beth -- the blog and all the messages and videos through it have changed you from being a speaker on a screen to being a friend -- to all who knows how many thousand of us. It's not many people that can pull that off. :o)
Thank you Beth, and everyone who helped get this up and running! This is such a blessing! Beth, you may think it's "rough" I think it's so very intimate - it's like being a part of a Bible Study in your living room! Just you and me and 3000 of our closest friends :) I am so excited about this! Thanks again!
That was soooooooo good!!! Thanks for the edification, and thanks for "W" advice. I hope I do not do this, but I KNOW that I think about it sometimes. Thanks thanks thanks...and thanks again for supporting us in doing this. I love you all soooo very much.
Thanks to all who made this happen. I wrote in the front of my notecard binder and I am sure it will help tremendously. Thanks for caring Beth, you truly encourage me every day!
Thanks Beth! I'm 52 years old with a husband and 3 boys...ages 21 to 12. My memory is not what it use to be, and sometimes I cannot even remember what I ate for lunch. I chose a short verse and want so badly to be successful in memorizing. Your video was wonderful, and I know it will help! May God bless you for all the love you give!!! Thanks so much!!!!
Beth and LPM staff, THANK YOU for the great instructions and insight. I love the real down to earth videos. It's like we're talking in the living room with one of our girlfriends. And Beth you are our girlfriend. I presented the memorization to my Bible study group and one of the girls did want to do it with me so I now have a face to face accountability partner too.
CAROL ALBUQUERQUE NM THANK YOU SO MUCH SABRINA FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK. I AM SO THANKFUL THAT WE GOR TO SEE BETH TO EXPLAIN IT TO US IF IT WOULD HAVE BEEN WRITTEN OUT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN HARD TO UNDERSTAND. THANK YOU SO MUCH SISTER BETH YOU A WONDERFUL SERVANT OF THE LORD'S THANK YOU FOR LOVING US AND SERVING US LOVE CAROL ALBUQ. N.M.
Very good info videos Spiritual Mom Beth! The Lord made a way through the tech difficulties!:) Very practical advice, I haven't thought of what "person" the first verse I'm memorizing is in. So, wielding the Sword is like demolishing the enemy's lie with the Truth of God's Word in my mind, taking my thoughts captive, right? Eventually, the Truth will be all I think, correct? Then, that is renewing the mind, washing my mind with His Word; then I will think like who I am really in Him-a new creation!
That's how I thought when I first became a Christian, but then I somehow lapsed into the old way of thinking again. That's what has terrified me. I thought I would never be that way again once I became His...Can I go back? I think I can. That's what He wants for me. Nothing is impossible for Him. How do I get back to new creation thinking all the time? Praying scripture, memorizing scripture and meditating on it constantly has to be the only way, praise the Lord! He is good to us Spiritual Mom Beth!
Beth - I wish I could give you a big hug to thank you for doing this tutorial! It's wonderful! - I'm can't wait to send it to my daughter and daughter-in-law and ask them to join in! No excuses - ADD, 50's, With His help, I can do it! Many blessings to you, Siesta!
Thanks so much Beth, and the comments on the wielding, do you have it in the sheath ???? oh my goodness, I love the visual teaching methods, I praise God that He gives you the insight to convey them to us in such a way, I just know God gives you this and I praise Him and give glory to Him! Know that you are prayed for and your family ! God Bless
ps. Beginning Esther next week, I"m so EXCITED I could be one of the Pointer Sister's !!!!!!
Thank you all so very much! The JOY of the LORD is my strength.. I am going to post this blog on my FB!!! Such good stuff Mama! Thank you for your hard work Sabrina... a new jewel has indeed been added to your crown. Muchos Love!
Love these videos! Thanks. I could hear them the first time they were posted, but glad for the updates so all can hear. I am so jazzed about the whole thing.
That was SO HELPFUL AND INSIGHTFUL! Thank you teacher for taking the time to do this with and for us. I'm priviledged to be a student of this community. Thank you Abba! Heather Charlotte NC
WOW! That was a great way to teach us to how to memorize scripture. I have the word "RENEW" imprinted in my brain right now and can click off what each of those letters stand for-this will make it so much easier to learn scripture with that visual picture. (i am a visual learner too!)
Last night I had THE WORST anxiety attack that I have EVER had in my life. My sweet husband prayed over me and as I climbed in under the covers just quivering with fear, my verse that I am memorizing just came to me and I started to say it over and over out loud and such a peace and calm washed over me. Never has an anxiety attack stopped dead in its tracks as this one did-I am just in awe that in this short time I am already learning my scripture and realizing just how powerful this thing it! This works! Satan has NO authority over MY MIND to cause that kind of fear! I will wield my sword his way!
I cant wait till I have 4 or 5 memorized! That is going to be so powerful for me! Awesome!
Thanks Beht for taking the time to give us some extra help at this. I've been trying to memorize scripture for quiet a few years now but this example has been helpful and I feel it will be of great help. I also hope to use it in our winter Bible study on Daniel beginning on Monday night. Again thanks for all you do in Jesus name, Carla Lee
Thank you to all involved in getting this tutorial up and running. I use to be able to memorize things very easily, now I am not sure what happened but it just does not happen that easily for me anymore. I was wondering how I was going to accomplish this goal, with all these tips I am sure I can do it now. Thanks you again, Kim B. in AZ
Beth, I just love you .... thanks so much for taking time out of your busy schedule to provide this tutorial. It is priceless --- You are the best. Love, Susan Cartersville, GA
This is so awesome. I remember memorizing scripture as a little girl at FBC and getting a star next to my name for each verse I knew. My competitive nature was in full gear on Sunday mornings! Knowing we are all doing this together is WAY better than a star!
Thanks for keeping at it Sabrina. And thanks Beth for the RENEW acrostic idea. I will share it with my Sunday School class this weekend. I am stoked about memorizing this year. It's been a while for this ole' brain but God can make the neurons fire up again! God bless
WOW! That wasn't a tutorial, that was a Bible lesson!! THANK YOU! I NEEDED to hear the 'need it' part and I am so guilty of wielding my sword against people. I grew up like that and now I am doing it too! Thank you so much for sharing the insight that God always gives you! I've already memorized my verse but I am now going to put it into practice.
It was because of your instruction just like this at LPL-Omaha in May '07 that I memorized Phil 4:8.
You put up those letters T N R P L A on the screen and I tried to make up a word from it. It looked like "tinnerplay", which of course is not a word but sounded like "dinner plate". So it is very easy for me to remember the words in correct order.
"Finally, sisters, (or brothers if you like) whatever is TRUE, whatever is NOBLE, whatever is RIGHT, whatever is PURE, whatever is LOVELY, whatever is ADMIRABLE- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things." Phil 4:8
Thank you for your ministry to us. I am so excited to think that I can do 24 verses this year!!!
Thank you so much, Beth. I think I paid better attention to it "rough" than if it was a "smooth" tutorial. I love acrostics, too, but you are the Queen of Acrostics! Wonderful job, through and through. So glad you took the time to help us out. Thank you, too, Sabrina, for being steadfast and firm!
LOVE IT! Thank you for the encouragement and direction. I've already had a chance (I was lucky enough to see it the first night it was up) to encourage a sister to find a scripture that speaks to her fear and to memorize it and then weild it at the enemy. She got a real visual on the sword in the sheath example. Maybe its because I act out my sentences. Good thing it was an imaginery sword.
Great ideas! I don't suffer from ADHD just CRT (can't remember things). Those steps will make it much easier to not only memorize it but also to make it useable so that it will make a difference in my life. Thanks for sharing your faith with us all. Jan
WOW!! SO helpful!! It was so good to hear the tips in the Examine it part....my brain can so relate to the alphabetical order part and the beginning letter of each sentence. I used those strategies today with my verse and was amazed at how much easier it was! Thanks to all of you for your efforts!! They are much appreciated by this challenged learner!
THANK YOU! Beth and Sabrina. This was awesome! This is so helpful. I loved the Wield it. I had never thought about the fact that I might be using it against a person. I know I've done it, just not thought about it.
As Holly said, the tutorial makes me want to know more, "how to rightly bear arms". ~Blessings~
Thank you for the wonderful videos and fantastic way to memorize our Scriptures. Even more so, thank you for the advice on how to use and not use Scripture. It is so powerful, and we need to respect the power of each verse we learn! I could not help but pen an acronym for your study aid. Hope it makes you smile!
What a great Acronym One that can be used Needed by so many Designed to help Every siesta Rely on God Fill their arsenal Understand the use of scripture Love the Word
Love Ya Siestas … and am praying for your journey!
THANK YOU SO MUCH. This was AWESOME. I wrote R E N E W in the front of my note cards. It will help this 50+ brain so much. We're on our way to a Jesus-year!
Thanks Beth and Sabrina! I'll probably watch this again to make sure I've understood it the way you intend.
I appreciate the Need It part. At first, I couldn't quite understand why I felt I should memorize one I chose. I thought, well I've seen this one a lot and maybe God's tryin' to tell me something. I also thought "I like that one anyway," Then the next day, things happend that made sense as to why I would need to meditate on it.
Anyway, thanks for being real and doin' this with us. God Bless.
Thank you SO much! Sending a HUGE hug to you Sabrina and Beth! That was so helpful... you had me laughing so hard about putting the scripture on the mirror so your husband could see it : )
I am so excited about this... one down 23 to go! Ready to RENEW!
Thank you so much Beth and Sabrina for doing this. It's going to be fun, I think. We started Esther tonight at church and I can't wait to dig into that. What a sweet dedication to Amanda and Melissa.
I'm sitting at my computer with my hot tea and comfy warm robe listening to your teaching! I just love it!! I am a 2nd grade teacher so I appreciate these teacher things!! One more acrostic for fun tonight, it goes like this...THINK before you speak is it, T-true H-helpful I-important N-necessary K-kind Thanks for the helpful tips!
I enjoyed the tutorial so much! Thank you for taking the time to do that for us. Thanks Sabrina for your hard work. Like you, Beth, I love acrostics--they help me remember so much. Thanks again.
Beth, You are such an encourager! Sabrina thank you for making this tutorial a reality. Beth, I really needed to hear what you spoke about when you said to - need it. That really spoke to my heart. Angel
WOW, thank you so much! That was wonderful. What an encouragement that was. Thank you for the pointers and advice. (& thanks Sabrina for your efforts. They are much appreciated!)
Mamma Beth, I wish I could express how your passion for the Lord and His Word has change my life. I desperately wanted to know how to have a relationship with GOD and Christ. Christ through you & Breaking Free in 1999 taught me how to. And the mentoring continues. Thank you!
I even already know my second verse-it's Hebrews 10:24-25. LOL
Beth, Thanks for the practical ideas and encouragement. I need my mind renewed consantly and pray that I will be humble and sensitive to the Holy Spirit's guidance and I use these scriptures to be vicorious and to encourage others.
Thank you for the tutorial. God has been speaking to me through learning my first verse. I love the acrostic RENEW. I think Romans 12:2 may be my verse for the 15th!
What a great help! Thanks so much Beth and Sabrina...and all involved! I wrote notes while you spoke in the tutorial to share with women in our church. Thanks for the "need it" part...great reminder that this is one thing for ME...between me and my God! My first verse..and second one coming...are verses I picked because I need them! Thanks so much to You, God for starting this through Beth. Thank you Beth for being a willing servant!
I hope that we can talk more about wielding our swords in the future. Beth. This topic alone has whetted my appetite to know how to rightly bear my arms!
I feel the same way as Holly! This has whetted my appetite also!!
Thanks so much for this! It is so helpful...I'm so excited to be memorizing scripture, but not just memorizing, but hiding his word in my heart! I really liked the "w"...what insight...Lord may I never cut anyone's ears off to your word! Love to all!
I feel more prepared and I like how you said memorize a verse for you and not for others. There are so many verses how in the world do you pick the right one anyways! O and by the way I turn 30 in the morning O my word I do feel old!!!! Everyone keeps asking me if I am sad which I'm not I am thinking turn 30 or put me in the ground. However I think I'm more worried about not being married and being 30 o Lord... well I do love ya severely!!! :) Kelly Jo Albany, Ky
I'm a little late joining the group, but I'm in for the year! Thanks so much for the tutorial. It was very helpful. As others have said, the Need It and Wield It excerpts are especially meaningful and helpful. Thanks Beth and Sabrina!
Now I have a SYSTEM to help me remember....Great! Great! Great! I have very high expectations of having 24 verses WRITTEN ON MY HEART by December! Yall are so cool! Thanks a million.
Love the tutorial! Don't ever feel like you have to apologize to us for a "rough" video...it's actually refreshing to think that Beth Moore, who teaches before hundreds of thousands of women with professional media presentations and bound study guides, is JUST LIKE US and is able to teach with poster board, scotch tape, and an easel for visual aids! Most of us who attend an average-sized church would teach using that very stuff. :) Praise God for your encouragement to us as we seek to be transformed through the RENEWing of our minds! Hope to see you in Woodstock for Travis's big night...still trying to bribe the hubs to make it a date weekend...it's a four hour drive! :)
Thank you Beth for the very clear explanation of why we should not wield the sword of the spirit at others. I believe that's why I turned and ran from God so many years ago when my friend used Scripture to justify his guilt. Thank you for healing a small hole in my heart that's been wounded for a very long time.
I want to give a huge praise b/c the Word that God has provided thru this call to memorize scripture has filled me to overflowing. I just spent some time reading many of them out loud and wow, what power and blessings! I have been feasting off these scriptures and I love it that scripture ignites scripture; truth ignites truth. I am a well fed woman - thanks siestas! Thanks for letting me eat from His banqueting table of love. And Beth and Amanda thanks for doing the extra work all these comments require. What love you have for Him to feed His lambs!
the 2 of you thaks so very much for this, this will help me so much, cant wait to start a little own this nice day of ours.I will use this God bless siester's loveVictoria Reidsville, NC
ABSOLUTELY essential ! My fiance and I are finally getting married tomorrow (at our tender age...), and the VERY FIRST thing we want to undertake as husband and wife is start a small bible study, one for men, another for women, at our home.
We live in a "rough" neighborhood in South London -- petty crimes, house burglaries, knife and DOG attacks are daily occurrences. More than half of my neighborhood's population lives in subsidized dwellings with no hope (or desire) to find a job. There is a very deep sense of hopelessness that finds its expression in either open rebellion through crime or quiet devastation that seeks solace in alcohol and drugs. I can't recount the number of times that my next door neighbor - a pretty but toothless, yellow-and-black haired 30-something woman who looks at least 20 years older - has received a visit from the police for drunken disturbances.
These are the people we want to reach out to with our Bible study -However, I am still so young in my faith and my walk with the Lord that I am absolutely TERRIFIED by the idea of it all.... All this to say that, without a doubt, this "minitutorial" you and Sabrina so lovingly put together is a fantastic tool, and one that I can use to create not only a fun atmosphere (excellent icebreaker!), but also a solid foundation to our study in the Word that could instil hope and joy into the lives of these women! thank you!!! (and sorry for having been sooo long-winded!)
I really appreciate you taking the time to make this post. Today was particularly interesting for me & I needed this boost of encouragement. God has definitely given me a few Scriptures that I NEED to memorize to help me draw nearer to him and be free indeed. This came at a perfect time for me to have accountability in an area that was all ready pre-pressed upon my heart. Thanks again for the time and effort put into the posts :)
Thanks for our spiritual pep rally! It is awesome to see how God is in this, how he is touching so many hearts! If there is ever a time we need to cling to his word, it is now!
Thank you so much. Boy I needed that convicting word about "wielding". I can't believe in a so-called "rough" video you can teach and be used so greatly to convict and reprove me. Thank God for you because He often speaks to me throught you!!
You are brilliant. I've never been given so many relevant, useful tools for Scripture memory in my life. This has always been so difficult for me but with God's and your help, I'm all over this!
"Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men (love that), be strong. Let all you do be done in love." ~ 1 Cor. 16:13-14
Beth, I'm going through something a little scary right now - a health issue with my little one, and I tell you, I needed to hear this this morning. As soon as it started, I began to cry. I do already have my verses memorized - Psalm 91:1-2 - because I NEED them! Thank you and much love.
Thank you so much for posting this. I'm already putting the RENEW technique to good use.
Beth, I'm so glad God drew me to your ministry. My mom and I attended the simulcast you did and came away tremendously blessed. She and I have just started one of your studies, and God is encouraging me through the words He gave you.
Honestly, I've been floundering spiritually for some time. This Scripture memory exercise for this year is going to be awesome!
Thanks so much Mama Beth and Sabrina!!! The tutorial really helped. The one "letter" that stood out so much was the "N" for need it. What a difference it has made in choosing a scripture not just because it would be a good one to memorize, but because I need it! The Lord in His infinite wisdom has given me a few times this past week to need it as well :o) He's a good Dad that way!
Thank you so much Beth...what a tremendous blessing you are. My husband and I are actually doing this together and we are so excited to see what God is going to do in our lives!!!
Thank you! This spoke right into my tendency to memorize Scriptures that (altough awesome in themselves) didn't pertain to MY need. You hit the proverbial nail on the head!! Thank you for your insight into all this! I love being a part of this group. Such a blessing!
Beth! THANK YOU, THANK YOU for this incredible video ---only YOU can break it down for us like no other! I've started to post my verses on my Facebook profile and it's blessing so many others, as well. I have my note cards on my desk and I'm going to start doing my mental RENEW every day. THANK YOU for taking the time for this video....and for starting this program. God bless you!
Thank you Sabrina, Beth and the LPM staff for your unending desire to see the body of Christ grow through His word. Y’all inspire, teach and edify our souls to be steeped in our relationship with God. Your enduring commitment to see God’s people live in victory is such a gracious offering of sacrifice and love.
Thank you to Beth, Sabrina, and the Entire Living Proof Team for giving of your hearts and lives to minister to us ladies around the USA and the world. This tutorial was very helpful.
Have a blessed weekend, and thank you again for serving our God with such passion.
The Mini-tutorial was extremely helpful! Thanks for taking the time to post it.
I also wrote my prayer about the scripture I choose on the back of the index card so I will remember to pray the scripture over me everytime I look at it.
Beth: Thank you and Sabrina and anyone else who took the time to do this for us. Even if it is in its rough cut it is awesome! And I love the blouse or jacket you have on...beautiful.
I put my acrostic word in my spiral so that I could have a readily on hand view of what I need to do!!! This hormonal brain needs all the little teasers it can get. And weilding my verse...well Proverbs 15:1... I have a personal daily experience with this at home with my teenager... so again thank you.
Loving you dearly and I pray Blessings and great grace for you and your team. Lichelle
This tutorial was perfect! Beth, the tip about memorizing the scripture one NEEDS turned on a light in me to know exactly what scripture I will memorize next.
God is so wise - infinitely beyond my ability to understand His ways. The passage He gave me to memorize this first go-around is Romans 11:33-36. This morning I found out that my husband's 4-year-old nephew passed away after a long and valiant battle with cancer. Caden was head over heels in love with Jesus and I KNOW that he is completely healed and completely free. But I struggle to understand why he fought so hard in vain. I am so glad that God is the same God in this moment that He has been every moment of time.
"Oh the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God. How unsearchable His judgments and His paths beyond tracing out. Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been His counselor? Who has ever given to God that God should repay him? FOR FROM HIM AND THROUGH HIM AND TO HIM ARE ALL THINGS! TO HIM BE THE GLORY FOREVER! Amen.
Thanks so much, Beth and Sabrina. This was very helpful and I'm already using these techniques, especially the "N" for need it. I dearly love praying the Scriptures over myself, my family, and many others. I am beside myself with anticipation and excitement over what God is going to do this year as over 3000 members of His body let His Word change their lives! I can hardly wait for the 15th! Much love to all of you, Patti Hayes - Lutz, FL
Thanks Beth. Your strong desire to see your siestas succeed in memorization is so evident. I'll have to go back to take notes when my precious grandkids leave.
These are great! I woke up this morning saying "Read it. Examine it. Need it. Echo it. Wield it."
Beth, thank you so much for working on this! Thank you to everyone else in your ministry for helping as well! This is a huge blessing, and I am so ready to RENEW!
Your labors are so appreciated. Thanks for all you do. The tutorial was great. I especially felt my shoes get tight on the weilding part. It's so important to remember that we battle against the forces of darkness and that we must not use the Word as a weapon against people.
Loved Holly's words because they are so true: "We would so have missed the preciousness of you, Beth, if this had been professionally done. We are your daily girls, you can get comfortable with us!"
Thank you so much Beth!!! Your commitment to fighting the powers of Darkness in this unbelieving world is so refreshing and I am so thankful for helping me to see it and grab on to it with my whole heart. I am in this with you all and can't thank you enough for the tutorial!!! I also can't thank you enough for your sense of humor and keeping it real!
Because I travel to work during peak traffic times, I started keeping Scripture index cards in my car almost two years ago. I did this so that at every light, stand still traffic jam, etc., I could meditate on His Word instead of getting mad or frustrated with all the "other" drivers! :) I'm here to tell you that it sure has helped me tremendously!!! I, too, speak it out loud and have often wondered what some of those strange looks were that I received from the drivers next to me. :)! Thanks for loving us Beth!
Thank you for the videos. That was a great visual aid. :)
My kids think this is such a neat thing you're doing with us. They said, "Mom it's your own Awanas and Beth is your Awana Commander." I had to laugh. They're right. Awanas is about memorizing scripture!
Ms. Beth and your awesome staff, Thank you! This is perfect and I know it's gonna help me with my verses this year. I'm going to put that acrostic in the front of my index cards and go for it! I've got my first one memorized and can't wait to see how the Lord renews my mind, teaches me how to wield my sword and takes those strongholds down this year. 3,000 women wielding their swords...devil, you better run! xoxo Melissa in Concord, CA
I don't ever think about having my sword in the sheath. I LOVE the picture of taking it out to fight the evil one. Believe me I am going to be doing some swinging today. Thanks to all of you at LPM.
Hi Beth After watching the tutorial on Scripture memory, I want to sign up! I have NEVER been good at memorization but after your lesson I really want to try. I couldn't find the entry to sign up on so can I use this one? I really NEED a Jesus year!!! I'm off to get index cards and find my first verse! Thank you for the inspiration! D'Ann- Heath, Tx
Beth: Great tutorial. I'm already on to my second verse! On a side note, every now and again I come across a quote that strikes me so profoundly and deeply, I have to write it down. I found one the other night. It's one of yours from the Esther study. I've written it into my notecards.
"Discontent with selfishness and weary of ego, we finally become willing to lose ourselves to something greater. In doing so, we find Christ as we've never known Him, and, there, pooled in the reflection of his eyes, startle to discover that a part of ourselves resembles Him." ( Beth Moore, "Esther: It's tough being a woman", page 123).
Rocked my world, friend, and received a hearty amen and a few tears of freedom alongside.
Great tutorial! Professional isn't always best, I like everyday!!! Thank you for pointing out Need It, I always tend to focus on versed that I think others around me can use instead of what "I" need to hear. I am really going to focus on that! Thank you Beth you are a blessing to me! Maggie
Thank you Beth and Sabrina and all the LPM staff. I do love an acrostic and am going to share it with my Sunday School class this weekend. We're all signed up to memorize some scripture this year. I'm praying that 2009 will be a year of spiritual growth for me and my class. Love ya'll and will be praying for ya'll.
Thank you Beth, Sabrina and all the LPM staff for this video and everything you all do! I was pleased to know some techniques already, and more pleased to learn the new ones. As Holly said, "We are your daily girls, you can get comfortable with us!" Please always come to us anyway you can and we will accept it with love and thanksgiving!
Also, thank you to Angela in Tennessee, you saved me some work!
Beth, Thank you so much for this tutorial - it was just what I needed! This is a first time for me with scripture memory and I appreciate you breaking it down into these steps - easy enough and understandable enough for beginners like me! I think I can...I think I can...I think I can... tjh
Beth & LPM Staff ~ thank you so much for your time preparing this tutorial. It was just what I needed to know I was going about my memorization the right way.
I enjoyed hearing about weilding the sword properly. I worry about this as I try to teach my children. While I've felt God's presence with me my entire life, I only began letting him lead my life just seven short years ago (and I'm still working hard at it!!) Since then I've had two children and haven't had much time to teach myself God's word and therefore can't confidently share scripture with my children yet. I would love someone to elaborate on how to teach the kids they should obey their parents joyfully the first time or give your sister that last piece of bologna because God says we should gladly give away everything we have WITHOUT them thinking "Hello, I don't like anything this God dude is putting out there!!"
Hope this makes sense. Thank you and God bless everyone of you!
Beth, Thank you so much for doing this. It is a blessing to me and I have written this in my journal for repeated use. You are the sweetest and I love you dearly. Sabrina, You truly are a warrior, when it comes to triumph of technical issues!!! Much love to you all, Celeste
Thank you. What wonderful ideas. I have my first verses memorized and am "wielding" them. :) Any pointers on "keeping them memorized" as we continue to learn more. Sometimes I feel like my "memory card" fills up. :)
An idea that is helping me: I typed my verse on my cell phone memo pad and saved it. Even if I'm without my notecards, I can still see & practice my verse.
Thank you all for the work here. Great tips, but mostly I appreciate two eye-openers: Don't memorize a verse I think someone else needs and Don't use it as a weapon. Very interesting & challenging points, thanks!
These are wonderful tips on memorizing scripture. I'm glad I'm not the only one who needs extra cues to remember. Also, thank you for your insight and advice about scriptures for others. Through the years, I have taped scriptures that meant the world to me on my children's bathroom mirrors. I guess I was pushing what meant so much to me on them. I never intended to "preach" at them, but perhaps like you said, it can come across that way. I'm learning to let my actions speak louder. I pray my kids will love and serve our Father and sweet Jesus like your girls do.
Thank you again for all your work on this video. By the way, your haircut is beautiful. If only my hair was straight enough to wear mine in that style. I'm not complaining because I'm grateful for my hair; I'm just limited in style due to the body and curl I have naturally. Am I making sense? Anyway, your hair style is very becoming. Praying for your whole family as you await the birth of your precious granddaughter!!!
Beth, wow, thanks, I needed that. This is new for me,I have always and I do mean always had trouble memorizing things. So far I am doing fair, I have Isa. 33:6 almost totally down. I'll try to type it without looking. "He will be our sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; for the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure." weew....I struggled a little, but I didn't look. Thanks for the challange, and the accountability, it is what I need to do this, and I want to do this. I will continue to work on Isa. 33:6
Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial! It was much needed for me! Especially the "NEED IT" part of it. I know that I sometimes try and make meditation and memorization about others when I'm the one that needs it.
Thanks so much Beth and Sabrina. I know it took a lot of time and effort and I appreciate it very much!! I am so excited about this and it helps to be doing it all together. Love, Stacy
The tutorial video will help me sooo much in the scripture memory goal for year. Memorization is not easy for me. I was tempted to do the verse "Jesus wept" just so I could build my confidence starting out..lol.
The "RENEW" method will help the verses to truly be written on my heart as opposed to memorizing something just to say I did it.
Thank you, thank you for TAKING the time to get this out to us. I know there were probably a million other things you needed to do, but chose to do this. May God pour out blessings a hundred fold on your sweet heads!
To siesta Angela from Tennessee...thank you for your notes. What a great idea! I've already printed them out.
Thanks for the info. at the end of segment three. Recently, I have found myself using God's word against Him in regards to some situations I am dealing with. BIG MISTAKE. Thanks for the redirection and caution! I needed it!
Beth and Sabrina! Thanks so much! What a wonderful blessing you are to us! Angela thanks for typing up our special acrostic, so I could easily copy & paste & make a copy for my little notebook too. I can't tell you how excited I am to be a part of such a time as this! Thanks again!
I really needed to hear the part about weilding and more importantly the part about not using it as a weapon. I had to stop and ask for some serious forgiveness on that one. I have posted it several places around the house where I am constantly such as above the washer, kitchen and other places like that. I loved your acrostis as I am a visual learner. Thanks you Beth, and LPM staff for having such a heart to make this happen for us.
THANK YOU Sabrina for all your hard work on this mini tutorial. I also wanted to say Thank you Beth for the word on “is our sword in its sheath?” I have realized yes I did have it in its sheath, and have been walking around wondering what is going on! Well I pulled it out today swung it around everywhere, and I may have to do this for a while, but I know that it is the sword of victory! God’s word is mighty and victorious. Hallelujah !
Oh how I needed the videos and I wrote out the RENEW and the meanings on a sheet of paper where I can review that each day. Thank you Beth and Sabrina for working so hard to make the videos happen. It is wonderful!
Thank you Beth & Sabrina! This tutorial was a blessing. It really helped and encouraged me. This morning I started praying asking the Lord to show me the next set of verses I NEEDED for the 15th. I am SO excited!
I've been memorizing scripture since I was a child (why was it so much easier then?), but I've never seen a better, more simple approach to memorizing God's Word. Thank you so much for doing this. I started out with a short verse, and I'm going to work my way up! Thank you! Rhonda
I just want to give you all a big hug! You didn't have to do this for us, but you did it with a serving heart of love! I just want to say thank you! I love the weild it- (not to use it against your neighbor/cutting off ears) I really think that was insightful and a nugget to remember!
Amazing! I love the way you identify each step clearly! This is exactly how I use to memorize music when I sang on the Praise Team. I must be on the right track!
I have one favor though. On the next recording, could your voice be a touch louder? I am getting older (and losing my hearing I guess) and I have all the settings on LOUDEST and I can hardly hear you! If it's impossible, it's okay. I will just play it over and over again until I can understand.
This is anything but mini; this is huge for me! I also wrote notes and have them on the last page of my index cards book for instant reminders. My problem alot is not remembering the chap.& verse number. Remembering the scripture but not where it is exactly can get frustrating. Thank You Sabrina for you labor of love and getting this up and working!
Thank you so much for your amazing example of a truly beautiful Jesus loving woman. The Lord has used you so much to inspire me to follow hard after Him, and I can't possibly find the words to express my gratitude to you for that. This blog and my siestas have also been such a source of blessing and encouragement and a place where I'm learning so much. I'm continually in awe of how lovely my siestas are and sure wish we could all get together for one big Bible Study every week! You are all in my prayers and I am so excited to be on this faith journey with you. Can't wait to hear at the end of this year all that the Lord will do in our lives as we seek Him first through the memorization of His Word.
Beth, Thanks for these tips - I can already tell they are helping me get my verse down.
Question... I have memorized quite a bit of Scripture over the years but my problem is retaining it. Do you have any recommendations on reviewing it?? Just curious how you do it?
I didn't sign up to do this with the siestas but I wanted you to know,Beth that my husband and I are doing it together and we will use your acrostic as an incredible tool, thanks Sabrina and Beth! My husband and I started praying together on our knees every night and we have seen amazing changes in our marriage and our relationship with Jesus so we are hoping to deepen that even more through writing scripture in our minds and on our hearts. Thanks Beth for your servant heart!! We are very excited about this!
I watched this with my six year old little boy and he is going around calling everyone "sister" with the Beth accent! TOO FUNNY! He is the king of memorizing scripture! He had memorized all of Psalms 23 and Isaiah 40:28-31 by the age of 4! They're like little sponges when they're little. Start early girls, or should I say "sisters"!
Beth in stereo - that is what you get when you can't wait to get to the next video fast enough. Yep - started the first one, hit play on the second video thinking it would stop the first one, but it didn't. Beth X 3 ringing from my office.
You all are amazing. Thanks for loving the Lord and His Word so much.
Thank you Beth, Sabrina, and whoever else was involved with this. Good tips!!!
Like some of the other women, I don't like to write out my cards, so I'm doing them on the computer in different colored fonts and they are with me right here at the computer. I know that's a variation from how you told us to do it, but it works for me! I might even make an extra set for the road!
I am doing scripture memory on my own, just one scripture a month, as I am also memorizing scripture for a class I am taking at church. I prayed and was led to Ephesians 6:18-20, which starts: 18"Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere." (NLT)
I wasn't reading the book of Ephesians, so I'm sure God is telling me to get back on track with my prayer life!
Thanks for the mini-tutorial! I can see it is going to be a big help!
Thank You so much for this tutorial! This will greatly help me as I memorize Scripture this year!
I appreciate you taking the time to do this for all of us siestas!
RENEW is such a wonderful acrostic. One of the goals that I have asked God to help me with this year is to renew my thinking and my thought life. So this acrostic means so much!!
And Thank You Sabrina! I appreciate all the hard work you did to make this tutorial aailable to all of us. May you be blessed!
Thanks Sabrina, I understand the love-hate relationship with technology! Miss Beth, quick question-I reviewed my verse this evening and looked at the pronouns like you mentioned. My questions is, what is the significant when the pronoun changes, or is it just significant that a change occurs? I'm memorizing Psalm 23, and the pronouns change several time...He, I, You. Just wondering! Thanks. Love, Kristin
Isn't "siesta" the Spanish word for nap? Yes! Then why are our LPM blog readers called siestas? One time Beth typed out the word "sistas," referring to our blog readers, and her spell checker wanted her to change it to "siestas." The name stuck! You can read about it here. If you read this blog, consider yourself a siesta! It's just another word for sister.

«Oldest ‹Older 1 – 200 of 316 Newer› Newest»I'd like to give a HUGE thanks to our ministry director, Sabrina, for laboring over this for THREE DAYS while she had every technical difficulty possible. She's my hero! Thanks, sister!
Beth,
Thank you so much for this!
Blessings,
Dori
Thanks to you Sabrina - we needed this help. Thanks also to Beth - I need these hints - I think they will help me to be able to memorize Bible verses.
Thanks to both of you!
GG2002
This was really helpful! I like how Beth brought up the "Need it" part.
AND NOT FOR SOMEONE ELSE!
That was a huge reminder about how we can choose based on wrong motives, and also choose verses blindly that we think might just be a lofty verse to memorize.
What we may really need, is to memorize the simple but profound; because this is for us to wield!
Love you all and praying for you,
Siesta OC

Thanks, Beth and Staff!
Very helpful!
Mrs. Beth,
Thank you so very much for this tutorial.
Because of Him,
Teresa
Our God is so BIG...He had given me much of what Beth shared with RENEW - different wording but similar concepts...Thank you for 'mentoring' us.
Awesome tutorial! Thanks so much, good ideas - I am going to share with our women's ministry. You all are so awesome in your obedience to God and His word.
Excellent teaching!! These strategies are tremendous. It just doesn't get any clearer than this. Praise the Lord! Thanks!!
Thanks, Beth, and all involved in putting together tutorial. In dire need of inspiration right now, and you never disappoint!!
God Bless You All!!
I hope that we can talk more about wielding our swords in the future. Beth. This topic alone has whetted my appetite to know how to rightly bear my arms!
Beth,
Cleaning the house today and decided to see if the post was up yet. The Spirit encouraged me so much through affirming everything you taught in your mini tutorial.
Thank you so much to all for making that possible!
Blessings,
Jina
Thank you Sabrina! Sometimes there is no test more difficult than that of technical difficulties! You are much appreciated.
Miss Beth, thank you for taking the time to give us those tips! When I was taking exams for my college courses last semester, I had so many acronyms that i need to make acronyms for the acronyms!! ok, that was exaggerated and i never did that...but there were a lot!
have a wonderful day,
:: Taylor
Much Love,
Groovewoman♫
Love,
Miss Debbie
Thank you so much Beth and Sabrina!!! This has been so very helpful. 3,000 ladies with the most powerful swords in the world!!! Watch out!
Love yall!
Let me share with y'all what I've done! I typed up a few notes from Beth's tutorial (see below) in a Word document and printed it out. Then I cut it out and glued/taped it in the front of my spiral bound index card book. Hope this helps!

RENEW - Acrostic for Scripture memorization based on Romans 12:2
“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but
be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will
be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good,
pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2 (NIV)
R – Read It (out loud and often)
E – Examine It (look for things to help you remember it)
N – Need It (be sure it is something you personally need)
E – Echo It (read it and echo it back – don’t worry if it’s not perfect)
W – Wield It (learn how to use it against the powers of darkness)
Thank you for making this available and for taking the time to teach us on the blog. It's such a blessing. Love to all!
Thanks, y'all! How our God is being glorified!
They were emphasizing Bible literacy, and their catchphrase was
"What goes in to a mind comes out in a life."
Soooo true.
Thanks for the encouragement and all the time and care you invest into us, Beth (and everybody at LPM)! We love you!!
Thank you, Beth, Sabrina and all you sweet gals at LMP who care enough to serve us through all available media!! :) Blessings to each of you!
Awesome! Thank you!
Thank-you for the great tips and the encouragement. I don't know how you do it, Beth, but every time I see you on video I feel like you're speaking to me alone...as if we know each other.
Oh Miss Beth, Thank you , thank you! "Never wield the sword to cut off someone's ear..." What wisdom! Thank you for sharing your wisdom.
Lord, Thank You for giving her wisdom and the ability to share it.
2 things that help me memorize scripture:
If the verse(s) have any kind of motion that can be put with a word (a kind of made up sign language) it helps the memory.

Beth and LPM Staff,
Thanks so much for everything.
I've been working on my verse, and almost have it.
The mini-tutorial is AWESOME and will be very helpful. Thanks for taking the time.
Technical difficulties won't stop sisters in Christ! AMEN!
God Bless,
Dani
Thank you, Beth, and thank you, Sabrina!
Beth & Sabrina,
What a blessing! Thank you so, so much. You are loved and appreciated!

Thank you Beth! These segments were such a tremendous help and so much insight. I love you to pieces!
Hey Beth,
I just had to share a funny story with you!
Thanks Sabrina, Beth, and LPM for the tutorial!
Love,
Missy
Beth, thank you so much for taking precious time out of your day to help us learn our scriptures. I will make sure my WOW girls watch this to help them as well! What a labor of love!
Lisa
Hi Beth, Sabrina, and everyone else,
Thank you so much for taking the time to do this! We Siestas appreciate it so much.
I am fired up!
Thank you for this. Beth, thanks to you for the clear instruction. Sabrina, to you for your labor of love.
May God's word wash over us cleansing our hearts and minds as we medidate on each verse.
Hugs and blessings,
Mary
Beth,
Thanks to you and your staff for a good word and teaching in due season. I was already starting to stress about the 15th and adding a new scripture, but your tips will make this adventure a blast! We can do this thing.
Bless You
thanks for taking the time to do this and for Sabrina for sticking with it to get it out to all of us siestas! it is much appreciated! I have wrote down RENEW in my notecards as well to help me remember.
We were supposed to start our first session of Esther today but unfortunantly we had to cancel it due to extreme rains here in Washington state. Lots of flooding around here! We may need to build an Ark before long!! Didn't get to watch Esther video but i did get a mini lesson today :) thanks again
God Bless!
Believing God to move the Mountains!

Thank you so much for taking the time, care, and love for our tutorial. I loved it and appreciated it. It is so helpful!

Thank you, Beth -- the blog and all the messages and videos through it have changed you from being a speaker on a screen to being a friend -- to all who knows how many thousand of us. It's not many people that can pull that off. :o)
Dear Beth and Sabrina,
THANKS SO MUCH!! What a huge blessing!
Much love,
Sharon
Charlotte, NC
Thank you Beth, and everyone who helped get this up and running! This is such a blessing! Beth, you may think it's "rough" I think it's so very intimate - it's like being a part of a Bible Study in your living room! Just you and me and 3000 of our closest friends :) I am so excited about this! Thanks again!
the great adventure
That was soooooooo good!!! Thanks for the edification, and thanks for "W" advice. I hope I do not do this, but I KNOW that I think about it sometimes.
Thanks thanks thanks...and thanks again for supporting us in doing this. I love you all soooo very much.
Thanks to all who made this happen.
I wrote in the front of my notecard binder and I am sure it will help
tremendously.
Whoa. The whole "wielding" piece was something I especially needed.
Thanks, Beth/LPM for the tutorial.
Kathy
Thank you Bethie!!! Sabrina thanks for hanging in there for us on this!

Thank you for the tutorial! I was like a sponge while you were talking...trying to absorb it all as I was writing it all down!
Renew! Yes!
Love you, Beth! You're such a blessing!
Thank you, Beth and Sabrina! I'm so encouraged by these practical helps!!
~Heidi
Beth and Sabrina, I appreciate this so much! It was excellent and is getting me on the right track for memorizing. God is so good to us!!!
Blessings to you tonight,
katiegfromtennessee
Beth - I wish I could give you a big hug to thank you for doing this tutorial! It's wonderful! - I'm can't wait to send it to my daughter and daughter-in-law and ask them to join in!
No excuses - ADD, 50's, With His help, I can do it! Many blessings to you, Siesta!
Thank you Beth and Sabrina!!!

God Bless

Thank you all so very much! The JOY of the LORD is my strength.. I am going to post this blog on my FB!!! Such good stuff Mama! Thank you for your hard work Sabrina... a new jewel has indeed been added to your crown. Muchos Love!
Dearest Beth,
Thanks so much for the hints, they are very helpful. PS, I noticed your darling jacket too!
Thanks,

Love these videos! Thanks. I could hear them the first time they were posted, but glad for the updates so all can hear. I am so jazzed about the whole thing.
That was SO HELPFUL AND INSIGHTFUL! Thank you teacher for taking the time to do this with and for us. I'm priviledged to be a student of this community. Thank you Abba!

Awesome!
Thanks Beth and Sabrina again!
Thanks you again, Kim B. in AZ
Beth,
I just love you .... thanks so much for taking time out of your busy schedule to provide this tutorial. It is priceless ---
You are the best.
Love,
Susan

This is so awesome. I remember memorizing scripture as a little girl at FBC and getting a star next to my name for each verse I knew. My competitive nature was in full gear on Sunday mornings! Knowing we are all doing this together is WAY better than a star!
Blessings-
Thanks for keeping at it Sabrina.
Well, that was VERY helpful!
Melana in Wyoming
Thank you so much, Beth. I think I paid better attention to it "rough" than if it was a "smooth" tutorial. I love acrostics, too, but you are the Queen of Acrostics! Wonderful job, through and through. So glad you took the time to help us out. Thank you, too, Sabrina, for being steadfast and firm!
Thank you Siesta Mama,
great information, and some good stuff to chew on.
Great tutorial! Thank you so much. Now I need to get on board, find my scripture and sign up before I am too far behind.
Thanks so much for taking your time to help us with this. I am excited to see what God is up to.
Thank you Beth , this was helpful. I feel I have wrongly wielded my sword this week. So you made this error crystal clear. I love you.
Elizabeth
I'm having technical difficulty. About every half second it pauses and starts, pauses and starts.
Wendy
THANK YOU! Beth and Sabrina.
This was awesome! This is so helpful. I loved the Wield it. I had never thought about the fact that I might be using it against a person. I know I've done it, just not thought about it.
As Holly said, the tutorial makes me want to know more, "how to rightly bear arms".
~Blessings~
Thank you for the challenge!!
Beth …
Thank you for the wonderful videos and fantastic way to memorize our Scriptures. Even more so, thank you for the advice on how to use and not use Scripture. It is so powerful, and we need to respect the power of each verse we learn! I could not help but pen an acronym for your study aid. Hope it makes you smile!

THANK YOU SO MUCH. This was AWESOME. I wrote R E N E W in the front of my note cards. It will help this 50+ brain so much. We're on our way to a Jesus-year!
Thank you to Sabrina and Thank you to Beth! You are both my heroes!
This will really help me to memorize Bible verses.
Blessings.... jan
Ya'll are such a gift! Thanks- Emmy : )
This was awesome. What's so funny is that I had been doing some of those things without officially knowing what to call it!
And now I've gotten all student on y'all and taken some notes.
Thank you so much, Beth and Sabrina, for taking time out of your week to do this. We so appreciate everything you do.
Love y'all!
Thank you so much Beth and Sabrina for doing this. It's going to be fun, I think. We started Esther tonight at church and I can't wait to dig into that. What a sweet dedication to Amanda and Melissa.
Love,
Kathie
I'm sitting at my computer with my hot tea and comfy warm robe listening to your teaching! I just love it!! I am a 2nd grade teacher so I appreciate these teacher things!! One more acrostic for fun tonight, it goes like this...THINK before you speak is it,

Thanks Beth,
I've never heard it put this way... this will be a huge help!!!
Hi Beth
I enjoyed the tutorial so much! Thank you for taking the time to do that for us. Thanks Sabrina for your hard work. Like you, Beth, I love acrostics--they help me remember so much. Thanks again.
Blessings to you
Sharon
That was wonderful! It means so much that you took the time to share those tips with us!
Thank you!
Sabrina and Beth,
THANK YOU!!
This labor of love was worth every effort.
Sharpening our swords,
Susan
Thank you you so much for taking the time to do this for us.
LOL
May you and yours be as deeply & richly blessed!
In Christ, The Beloved,
Anna
Beth,
Thanks for the practical ideas and encouragement.
I need my mind renewed consantly and pray that I will be humble and sensitive to the Holy Spirit's guidance and I use these scriptures to be vicorious and to encourage others.

So encouraging and helpful, will make a big difference in taking on this challenge. Thanks for all you hard work and creativity!
Blessings!
Blogger Holly said...

Thanks so much dear Beth.
This is really helpful.

Beth,
Thank you. I love watching your videos.
I am one of the solo siestas. I am currently working through Believing God. I just wanted to thank you for being so honest and inspiring.
May God continue to bless you!
Kristie
Thank you so much for this! And thank you for that verse out of Romans 12 that you used. I think I have just found my next memory verse! ;)
This is so awesome, Thank you, thank you, thank you!
the 2 of you thaks so very much for this, this will help me so much, cant wait to start a little own this nice day of ours.I will use this God bless siester's loveVictoria Reidsville, NC
(and sorry for having been sooo long-winded!)
maria cristina
I really appreciate you taking the time to make this post. Today was particularly interesting for me & I needed this boost of encouragement. God has definitely given me a few Scriptures that I NEED to memorize to help me draw nearer to him and be free indeed. This came at a perfect time for me to have accountability in an area that was all ready pre-pressed upon my heart. Thanks again for the time and effort put into the posts :)

I am very grateful for this help. Thank you so much.

Thanks for our spiritual pep rally! It is awesome to see how God is in this, how he is touching so many hearts! If there is ever a time we need to cling to his word, it is now!
Thanks for this, Beth and Sabrina! It will be a huge help to me.
Bless you all!
Thank you so much. Boy I needed that convicting word about "wielding". I can't believe in a so-called "rough" video you can teach and be used so greatly to convict and reprove me. Thank God for you because He often speaks to me throught you!!
Amanda B.
Mama Beth,
You are brilliant.
1 down, 23 to go! :))
And yes Amanda, Sabrina is AWESOME! LOVED working with her at the Fiesta!
Thank you!
Thank you Beth and Sabrina!
Thanks again!
woo hoo!!!! thank you!!!!
Thank you to all involved in making this tutorial. It really is very helpful!
I also would like more discussion on "weilding" our sword. I am with Holly...that topic made me hungry for more!!
I am so encouraged by each of you!

Beth:
Thank you and Sabrina and anyone else who took the time to do this for us.
Lichelle
Beth, Amanda and Sabrina,
It is just so like all of you at LPM to go above and beyond to help us out. These tips are helping me so much. Y'all are just wonderful!
And I LOVED Missy's comment about the "Southern Living Translation" - that is hilarious!
Hugs,
Adrienne
This tutorial was perfect! Beth, the tip about memorizing the scripture one NEEDS turned on a light in me to know exactly what scripture I will memorize next.
Thank you for the tutorial - great tips!
Much love to all of you,
Patti Hayes - Lutz, FL
Thanks Beth. Your strong desire to see your siestas succeed in memorization is so evident. I'll have to go back to take notes when my precious grandkids leave.
--Grandmamitz
BEAUTIFUL! I plan to use "RENEW" with our youth as we are in the topic of this with out midweek lessons. Thanks!
In His Graces~Pamela
Hey, I tried the videos again this morning and they worked beautifully! Thank you God for Loving US and using Beth to encourage and teach us.
These are great! I woke up this morning saying "Read it. Examine it. Need it. Echo it. Wield it."
Beth, thank you so much for working on this! Thank you to everyone else in your ministry for helping as well! This is a huge blessing, and I am so ready to RENEW!
Love to you!
~Liz
Your labors are so appreciated. Thanks for all you do. The tutorial was great. I especially felt my shoes get tight on the weilding part. It's so important to remember that we battle against the forces of darkness and that we must not use the Word as a weapon against people.
The Lord bless and keep you.
Loved Holly's words because they are so true:
"We would so have missed the preciousness of you, Beth, if this had been professionally done. We are your daily girls, you can get comfortable with us!"
Thank you again for the tutorial!
Mary
Thank you so much Beth!!! Your commitment to fighting the powers of Darkness in this unbelieving world is so refreshing and I am so thankful for helping me to see it and grab on to it with my whole heart. I am in this with you all and can't thank you enough for the tutorial!!! I also can't thank you enough for your sense of humor and keeping it real!
Kimberly
Because I travel to work during peak traffic times, I started keeping Scripture index cards in my car almost two years ago. I did this so that at every light, stand still traffic jam, etc., I could meditate on His Word instead of getting mad or frustrated with all the "other" drivers! :) I'm here to tell you that it sure has helped me tremendously!!! I, too, speak it out loud and have often wondered what some of those strange looks were that I received from the drivers next to me. :)! Thanks for loving us Beth!
Blessings,
Ginger from Alabama
Thank you for the videos. That was a great visual aid. :)
My kids think this is such a neat thing you're doing with us. They said, "Mom it's your own Awanas and Beth is your Awana Commander." I had to laugh. They're right. Awanas is about memorizing scripture!
Much love to you!
Melissa
Ms. Beth and your awesome staff,
Thank you! This is perfect and I know it's gonna help me with my verses this year. I'm going to put that acrostic in the front of my index cards and go for it! I've got my first one memorized and can't wait to see how the Lord renews my mind, teaches me how to wield my sword and takes those strongholds down this year. 3,000 women wielding their swords...devil, you better run!
xoxo
Melissa in Concord, CA
I don't ever think about having my sword in the sheath. I LOVE the picture of taking it out to fight the evil one. Believe me I am going to be doing some swinging today. Thanks to all of you at LPM.
Bless you all!!
Just when you need a good verse ... I'm memorizing Is 33:6 and just was laid off from my job yesterday.
He is my source of Stability.
He ABUNDANTLY provides safety & GREAT wisdom.
He GIVES all this to those who fear Him!
Thank you Jesus.
I am going to be ok!!
Thank you for the scripture memory challenge too!!
Hi Beth
After watching the tutorial on Scripture memory, I want to sign up!
Beth:
Great tutorial.
God's peace and blessing on you this day~elaine
Love and Blessings, Debbie in Tennessee
Beth,
Thank you so much for this tutorial - it was just what I needed!
Love the idea to put the tutorial notes in my scripture binder.
Thanks Angela,
Teresa
Beth,
Thank you so much for doing this. It is a blessing to me and I have written this in my journal for repeated use. You are the sweetest and I love you dearly.
Sabrina,
You truly are a warrior, when it comes to triumph of technical issues!!!
Much love to you all,
Celeste
Thank you.
What wonderful ideas.
I have my first verses memorized and am "wielding" them. :)
Any pointers on "keeping them memorized" as we continue to learn more.
Sometimes I feel like my "memory card" fills up. :)
An idea that is helping me:
I typed my verse on my cell phone memo pad and saved it. Even if I'm without my notecards, I can still see & practice my verse.
Thank you all for the work here. Great tips, but mostly I appreciate two eye-openers: Don't memorize a verse I think someone else needs and Don't use it as a weapon. Very interesting & challenging points, thanks!
Thanks, Beth!
Beth,
These are wonderful tips on memorizing scripture.
Oh Man I can't see it but thank you anyway I'm sure it's wonderful - thanks
Beth,
wow, thanks, I needed that. This is new for me,I have always and I do mean always had trouble
memorizing things. So far I am doing fair, I have Isa. 33:6 almost totally down. I'll try to type it without looking.
"He will be our sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; for the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure."
weew....I struggled a little, but I didn't look.
Thanks for the challange, and the accountability, it is what I need to do this, and I want to do this.
I will continue to work on Isa. 33:6

Beth & Crew,
Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial! It was much needed for me! Especially the "NEED IT" part of it. I know that I sometimes try and make meditation and memorization about others when I'm the one that needs it.
God bless you all! Here's to an AWESOME 2009!
Stephanie
Thanks so much Beth and Sabrina. I know it took a lot of time and effort and I appreciate it very much!! I am so excited about this and it helps to be doing it all together.
Love,
Stacy
Great tips...
Thanks for all you do at LPM.
Dear Sweet Beth and Sabrina,
Thank you, thank you for TAKING the time to get this out to us.
I also wanted to say Thank you Beth for the word on “is our sword in its sheath?”
I have realized yes I did have it in its sheath, and have been walking around wondering what is going on!
This
tutorial was a blessing. It
really helped and encouraged me.
This morning I started praying
asking the Lord to show me the next
set of verses I NEEDED for the 15th. I am SO excited!
Thanks again
I've been memorizing scripture since I was a child (why was it so much easier then?), but I've never seen a better, more simple approach to memorizing God's Word. Thank you so much for doing this. I started out with a short verse, and I'm going to work my way up! Thank you!
Rhonda
I just want to give you all a big hug! You didn't have to do this for us, but you did it with a serving heart of love! I just want to say thank you! I love the weild it- (not to use it against your neighbor/cutting off ears) I really think that was insightful and a nugget to remember!

Beth,
Beth,
Thank you so much for your amazing example of a truly beautiful Jesus loving woman.
Love and blessings to each of you,
Gretchen in Thousand Oaks, CA
Thanks to Beth and everyone who put this together - great tool!
Beth,
Thanks for these tips - I can already tell they are helping me get my verse down.

Thanks for the video! I wrote my RENEW acrostic inside the cover of my spiral notecards.
Love y'all!
Laura
I haven't been on in awhile. Is it too late to get involved?
Beth,
Thank You so much for this tutorial!
Joanie
Thank you, that was wonderful! I love that you did it informally, it felt like we are sitting right there with you. Sabrina, ya done good!
Congratulations Maria Cristina on your marriage.
Thanks.
Love,
Kristin
